Music x Technology: The Live Room at KEXP - Duration: 2:27.
The Live Room in our old building became recognizable because of certain design choices that we
made.
When we moved into this new building, we weren't able to replicate exactly the style that we
had in the old building.
And so we were able to, with Microsoft's help, come up with something new that evolved, but
took it to a whole different level.
The relationship with Microsoft and KEXP has been a long-standing one.
KEXP has been a great local partner, willing to work with us to really experiment and try
new things with Microsoft technology.
We came up with something that was similar to the old style, but also completely made
it something new.
We wanted to pay homage to that space, and having LED and Kinect and Surface come together
to be able to do that was a fantastic opportunity.
The technology behind the installation involves a TouchDesigner system that generates generative
animations and a Surface control tablet that wirelessly lets the operators pick looks and
change aspects of the color and speed.
I think it was nice to be able to have the lighting in the room be aware of where the
performers are, and so that way the animations that appear on screen can kind of radiate
out of the performers and enhance their performance.
We can really match the mood of the bands, and that's something that we've never been
able to do before.
Even though the looks are pre-designed, they can be changed in so many different ways,
that we feel like we have a wide pallet to work with.
Today, watching the band performing in the space, and really reacting to the lights and
reacting to their movement in the space was so exciting to see.
It was really kind of a unique experience.
I mean, we've done radio performances before, but nothing that looked exactly like this.
I mean, it's just a very distinctive room when you walk in.
You have the viewing room out there, it really feels like an intimate studio experience for
us.
Well, one thing that we hope about these lights, is that we are able to become as iconic in
representation as we were in the old room.

Tonto Dikeh Is Drug Free and Cobhams To Release First Ever Music Album | Pulse TV News - Duration: 1:41.
Tonto Dikeh-Churchill wants all and sundry to know that she is drug free and fully intends to stay that way.
Tonto took to her Instagram page on Monday, January 23, 2017, to share a photo of her drug screening test result.
Although hard to believe, all her tests, including those for marijuana
and other hard substances proved negative.
Tonto Dikeh posted the drug test result barely one week after rumours that the actress' marriage
had fallen apart, began to make the rounds on social media, even though Nigerians seemed
unable to settle on the reason why.
Many have sworn that another woman, specifically Rose Meurer,
who is Oladunni Churchill's PA, was the reason for the speculated split.
Despite the fact that Meurer has denied the allegations during an interview with Hip TV,
describing the accusations as ridiculous, nobody seems to believe her.
Of course there was proof that Tonto Dikeh's husband was sighted at the same club last
night, as his photo was also shared on the club's page.
On the other hand, some people are convinced that the couple's problems were related to
Tonto's involvement in drug use.
Now that Tonto Dikeh, mother-of-one, has proven beyond doubt that drugs had nothing to do
with the purported crisis, we can only watch as events unfold in the house of the Churchills.
Cobhams Asuquo reveals he is set to drop his debut album he has titled 'For you'.
The maestro musician made this known via social media, saying it took him five years to get it ready.
Cobhams is responsible for producing critically acclaimed albums
