when my dad used to get in trouble he would have to go see his dad and he

would be smacked with a slipper

your dad was deputy head and his dad was the head and he used to go to the office because he would be...

[laughter] no

welcome to real english with real teachers with harry and charlie

so the first debate is going to be whether we think children

should be hit still by their parents yeah you like that great idea

I think it's a great first topic we just go straight in at the meaty stuff and just

really tackle these issues that need to be talked about yeah you know other

english teachers aren't willing to talk about this we are yeah I mean it's not on the

news is it you're not hearing this on bbc world service so tune in to real english with

real teachers to get the proper news that you need before we get going with

the video we would like to tell you about an online language learning

platform that we have been using a lot over the last couple of years and we

love it italki is a convenient affordable website which connects

language learners like you to native teachers of those languages whatever

your goals are in english whatever your level is and however big or small

your wallet is italki has the right teacher for you

mine's massive but it doesn't have much money in it

ten pounds

but ten pounds is enough for a lesson unbelievably some of the teachers on

this website are charging as little as $10 an hour which i think is incredible

really so if you really want to reach fluency with your English but you have a

really busy schedule we really recommend that you check out italki and the great

news is now that we are partnering with italki we've been able to get you $10 of

italki credits when you sign up for your first italki lesson

so enjoy this video and then sign up for your first italki lesson using the link

in the description box below this video I hope you enjoy that guys let's get

back to the video so without further ado how do you feel about this Harry

well as someone who received very light parental abuse as a kid I feel I can't really

empathize with someone who had who has really been beaten as a child I guess

what's the reason for beating a child would you say oh well yeah we should just say

this is this is definitely not abuse this is to discipline light discipline a

little bit of a spank just to say not again

don't do that that's naughty you shouldn't steal that one penny sweet you

know [pop sound] naughty boy okay so we are talking of a form of punishment where a parent

will hit a child and I think yeah like I said light parental hitting of the

child I think that's okay I think sometimes it's it's necessary but with

most things there has to be there has to be a limit and maybe you are teaching a child

an action that's really not healthy and it's not good for his or her development

and will probably have a negative knock-on effect on their their

development and the way they treat other people

yeah that's true I remember so my parents did hit me around the face nah joking

no they did I think it was mainly my dad he would lightly spank me on the thigh and

I remember thinking you know you can't solve everything just with a bit of

violence dad and I wanted to tell him that so I think even even a little bit

of spanking ends up with a slightly warped sense of how people deal with

situations so yeah I think I agree with you I think it could be could be light

but then again there's so many new techniques out there in the parenting

world that allows for discipline without physical violence what do you think that

I think so but before we delve into that I just I want to know

you said your dad spanked you and you said it was just it was on your thigh

now I thought that a spank had to be on your bottom is that a real spanking if

it's just on your thigh well I thought it was kind of like it was like upper thigh

towards towards the cheek so it was just any anything fleshy

around there okay were you a fleshy child no no I was all skin and bones

actually what about you were you a fatty I wasn't a fatty but I had I was a bit

chubby I've always had chubby cheeks but you know I've had a kinda slender

physique sure but I had chubby cheeks good for smacking and interestingly you

were spanked cos my parents opted for a different form of punishment and

they would well they would smack me on my face

no they didn't really

yeah yeah they did and they kept

my dad I seem to remember my dad smacked me on my arm sometimes and my

mum she definitely used to smack me around the face but this happened very

rarely and I think I told this in a live lesson once my mum poured a bowl of

cereal over my over my head once that's the worst

that's the worst punishment I ever got and that was instant punishment it was

like I said something I instantly had a bowl of frosties over my face did you

think that that was a fair punishment for your action oh the bowl of cereal I

no I thought it was very unjust very very unfair I was not happy with

that okay so do we do we kind of think it's crossing the line when there's milk

involved so it's just a little bit of a tap it's fine

if there's any milk get out of here lock 'em up yeah yeah if she if she smacks

you on the bum or a little hit on the hand or even just a little slap that's

fine but when she reaches into the fridge and she gets the milk

I'm calling social services I have one thing I wanted to say we say it's okay

to hit someone lightly or hard enough so that they they know what they've done

wrong and they can repent they can ponder they can think okay I shouldn't

have done that but what do you think about using

instruments so we talked about milk but what about other things like belts forks

spoons is it okay to use them knives yeah yeah bring on the knives no so I

think the slipper was the last weapon of choice that I remember my dad used to

use at his no his dad used to use on him at school he was the head he was the deputy

head and when my dad used to get in trouble he would have to go see his dad

and he would be smacked with a slipper wait wait your dad was a deputy head and his dad

was the head and he used to go to the office because he had been...

[laughter] no

no no my dad was a child and he went to his dad's school and then

when he got in trouble he went to the deputy head

which was his dad yeah oh god I'm jus t imagining your dad like he's given the wrong like homework to a kid

and then his dad finds out what he's done and he calls your dad to the office and then

smacks your dad around the bum with a slipper I would love that so yeah other

other weapons I think I think weapons are a little bit dated now I think it's

you know it's gone it's you gotta put the belt away just put it away and if

you must use just a hand on the buttocks I think that's that's it in public when

I see a mum hit their child it's very awkward and everyone looks at each other

like [sighs] yeah but if if she turned her around and she's a little slap on the

bottom then we're kind of like okay yeah she's a she's the parent you know hopefully she's

the parent sure she can do that yeah yeah I think I think I'm with you there I I do agree

I completely agree with you I think there's a line and we shouldn't be

using instruments I wouldn't say they're dated because with anything you know we

have the evolution of punishment you know maybe there are other things we can

do and there's other instruments we could use that could condition a child

to do to behave more sensibly like maybe if you hit a child with their favourite

computer game maybe that would have a positive affect on them hang on do you not agree that the

belt and the slipper and the other devices that they used in like the early

nineteen hundreds do you think do you not think that that can be classed as dated anymore or now

I think as a fashion item I would say slippers are dated but as a

punishment and as a tool it's just cos I've got some on

it's not it's not just that I just think they are ridiculous

just having a go aren't you

but actually I am having a go at your slippers

I'm gunna I'm gunna slap you

[laughter]

[groan] I do think they're really stupid but as a tool of punishment I actually think

they're a good alternative to a hand because a hand is not very efficient you

it can hurt you we're not wanting efficiency definitely not

wanting efficiency that would encourage overwhelming abuse this would

bring back you know child abuse I don't I'm I'm not I don't agree with you I

think that we don't need to bring it back we're always gonna have child abuse

cos kids what no we're not no we're not no there's so many ways that you can avoid you know like the

super nanny you see that program where they bring in those techniques where

they go on the naughty step that's like their punishment it's psychological but

it's also helping them get over doing something naughty okay let's talk about

the naughty step so or the naughty corner so there you are

conditioning a child a child's bad behavior with isolation right which is a

good idea I remember standing in the corner I had the naughty corner in my

house and I remember the naughty corner cos it joined the playroom which is

where we had just a normal dining room table with a net on so we could play

ping-pong that was that was the playroom

[laughter]

and it also had other toys my favorite toys Action Man Ninja Turtles things like that and the

torture of being in the naughty corner was you look in the playroom n you'd see

everyone having fun and you're they're having a miserable time on your own

which is a perfect punishment it shows you what you could have been having if

you hadn't misbehaved you know what really is a good punishment the naughty corner

[laughter]

I do know what you mean about the isolation you could have gone further with that

because it's actually the worst punishment in the world if you take a

prison you look who is really fucked up those ones they're in the isolation

centers because that's that's the worst way you can deal with a human isn't it

it is it's complete it's torture it's absolute torture and then when you're in

the naughty corner or you're in our you're in solitary confinement in prison

you start doing even weirder stuff like I dunno

what

just really thinking about all

the mad shit all the horrible stuff you're going to do when you get out the

naughty corner and I think I think as...

is that what you did when you're in the naughty corner

you could see your brother and sister having fun over the little table tennis

dinner table and you were thinking I'm gonna get that bat and I'm gonna hit

him on the head I'm gunna

shove that ball in their mouths n punch them in the face is that what you wanted

what I did is I looked under the stairs and I saw my dad slippers I thought I'm gonna get one

of them and batter my brother with it that'll teach you

[laughter]

but I so I don't think I think there we've come

to the conclusion that the naughty corner can be quite a dangerous thing and

actually when you look at countries that have really low rates of reoffending

after being incarcerated after being put in jail and then they're released like

Norway they have a very different way of rehabilitating people in prisons they

send them off they do community activities they teach them new things I

think we should do that when a child's done something bad

say like maybe take to another room and teach them teach them some new phrasal

verbs or something [laughter] teach 'em yeah but this is a completely different

ballpark because as soon as you get into the adult realm of punishment

you can't literally physically punish them that's not within our law-abiding

world is it that's the only thing a sentence of time

it is it is in some countries

I think isolate I think yeah yeah okay in some countries but we're talking about

the way that we've grown up aren't we sure yeah yeah yeah yeah

so isolation as a child for five minutes isn't gonna turn you into a psychopath

thinking about all those demons inside your head that need to come out as soon

as you're released all the cats you could kill imagine that imagine if

you've been caught with your sister's hamster and or no like a gerbil

gerbils are better cos they've got a tail so you can hold them up by the tail and go ooh

so you've got your sister's gerbil you go like that and then your mum says hey but

that gerbil down and get in the naughty corner and then you go to the naughty corner and you

start thinking hmm that was fun I wonder what other animals

I could do that with so it gives you time to concentrate on how to extend the

previously performed behavior that ended you up in isolation basically I don't know I

think I I spend my time thinking about who wronged me to get me into that

situation which I suppose that could be a scenario that could escalate coming

back to the main question then do we do we think it's okay to a certain extent

to use a little bit of physical or mental punishment to a child I'm gonna

say at this moment we're not publicly aware enough of all of these strategies

cos they are tiring and it's easy to say you should be

smarty you should be better with your ways in dealing with a child but at the

moment the world isn't ready to completely remove a smack or a little

spank so I'm going to say it's okay for the next decade

[laughter]

but you don't know what's going to be happening in the next decade maybe we should be reviewing it again

in ten years we'll do another video and we'll have kids then and we'll be able

to say you know should we have smacked them yet or not or have we smacked them

yeah Charlie how's the spanking going

[sigh] I've gotta get some new slippers

hopefully by hopefully by then slippers will be banned as well like no one will

be wearing they would have died out completely

that's the dream that will I will keep them in business I promise you that

okay so there's there's the debate on whether we should abuse children no

we're joking not abuse whether you should punish a child with a little bit of a

hit still in this modern day we are saying that's okay right as long as it's

soft and there's no marking damage or there's no

ahh how can we say no permanent damage to - yeah but even that's too easy to

avoid as long as it's not damaging for the child as long as they can walk

afterwards as long as they [laughter] as long as they've got their legs intact still yeah you can do

anything you want to their arms but just don't [laughter] just no broken bones

yeah no long-term damage and they've gotta be able to feel it sure but not

too hard not too hard

go easy on your kids

so there we have a profound debate among two

professionals who clearly know what they are talking about remember to take note

of everything language related and nothing

else seriously don't start hitting your kids because of this remember to grab

your $10 worth of italki credits and get practicing

the new phrases we've just taught you in context and of course check out our

website for more ways to bring your language learning alive subscribe and

give this video a thumbs up if you want to see more debates like this one all

Spina Bifida and Dating... Is It Possible? | CC - Duration: 15:45.

Hi everyone! I'm back again with another video and

Today's video is going to be relationships involving

spina bifida and I'm doing spina bifida specifically

video. So, uh a few days ago or about a week or two ago

probably now my friend - she has a Facebook page

for people to like give me topics and talk about in the

spina bifida video. And that was one of them. So, that is

what I'm doing today. Also, I did a poll kind of situation

on my Instagram. And I just asked what kind of videos

people wanted to see snd a lot of them said Spina Bifida

related. So, that is what I'm doing. This video will be split

into different sections. So, if you - because there are five

So, if you want to just look at a certain topic or if it's just

a certain topic that interests you more then you can do

that. Um, all of the topics and everything will be listed in

the description with a like time guide for you guys to

will be a longer video I'm gonna try to make it as short as possible but I beat

you to the top claw and there's a lot of time a lot to talk about I cannot speak

today so yeah anyway request videos down below if you have any video requests and

don't forget to subscribe on my Jesus don't forget to subscribe and follow me

on all of my social medias as well which will be listed below on at the end of

the video so let's go ahead and get started

okay now I have everything listed as far as every topic that I'm gonna talk about

I have it listed on the top right here so you see me looking over that would be

why so about the first topic is what is fun with it so I'm gonna try to kind of

explain it to you guys there are three types which I'll go over in a minute but

there are three types is fun definite and just like any other disability or

condition it does affect everyone differently so that's an important thing

to realize as well let's find out what it basically means where again it's

gonna affect everyone differently but basically in a nutshell kind of

situation it is basically where the spine and the spinal cord you're not

formed correctly and the spine does not the spinal cord isn't completely

protected with skin therefore it creates what's called a spinal sac which has

cerebral spinal fluid in it and that basically has all of the nerves and

everything because the back was not fully closed correctly to inform

correctly so that's kind of an initial what spina bifida is if you want any

other information I will include some links down below and also the exact

definition probably right here somewhere curious about the actual definition okay

- no it's the ones topic -

topic 2 is when do you tell your partner you have it and this is probably the

main point of the video but I do have a couple of things that I wanted to talk

about so the first thing is to start slow now this is gonna depend on from

person to person now your preference of when you tell them it's completely

different so it's gonna be completely different than who you know a different

person obviously everyone is different so it's kind of kind of depend on what

you want to do specifically and what works best for you in terms of when you

tell them but I would start slow I wouldn't because if there's a lot of

information to kind of take in all at one time so I would kind of ease into it

I wouldn't necessarily hide it which is my next point not to hide it but I I

would not just you know spit everything out at once because again it's a lot of

information to go through and the process especially when you know if that

person knows nothing about it it's a lot of information to kind of gather all at

one time so start slow you know don't don't rush

into it take things slow and you know pace yourself my next one is don't hide

it and I mentioned this a minute ago but you don't want to hide it because

ultimately you need to make sure that they are aware of it because if this is

going to be a long-term relationship you need to make sure that they're prepared

preparedness is probably the most important thing you know you want to

make sure they're prepared for what's gonna happen what may be extra medical

things you have to do because of it and how it affects you because it affects

everyone different so turn that to hide it if you can't you know your preference

of win now this is another big one because just because you know you might

want to tell some right off the bat doesn't mean somebody

else with it so it's important to not everyone is very comfortable with with

their condition as far as you know certain things and it may entail so it's

important that you are confident in your disability or condition whatever you

want to call it and also that you are comfortable with what you tell them no

this doesn't mean that you have to tell them all at once yeah you can tell them

certain things are comfortable with up until you know you get comfortable with

the person if that is your preference but it is very important that you know

what your preference is as far as when you tell that person you know don't feel

like you have to rush to tell them just do it at your own pace my personal

opinion would be to tell them right away but understand that does not work for

everyone so like I said you know you don't want to feel rushed to tell them

but my personal opinion would be to tell them right away so that they have time

to be prepared as the relationship goes on but that's not everyone's preference

and that is completely okay what is not okay is hiding it I don't agree with

hiding it or thinking oh you know I'm not gonna tell this person until years

later or months later I do think that it's something that they need to know

not right right away but it is something that you need to keep in the back of

your mind to tell them eventually because it is something that you know

like I said if this plan is to be long-term relationship that you need to

make sure that they are prepared my next one is encouraging to do their own

research now when I say this it means you know again it can be a lot to take

in at once and so you I would encourage them to look up certain things if they

can because I think you know them doing their own research they can do it at

their own pace they can look up certain things or not that they're curious about

or that you may not be able to explain it very well and they can get it in

of how they understand it you know they can do specific research that you may

not be able to do because you're not them you know everyone understands

things differently and so I think encouraging them even though it may be

scary I think encouraging them to do their own

research will help because again like I said they can kind of do it at their own

pace and find a way that works better for them in a way that they can

understand it so topic number three is help though understand so what I mean by

that is explain what the condition is and how it affects you so like I

mentioned earlier it affects everyone different not everyone is going to be

affected the same so it's important that you you know you need to kind of

understand and help them understand what your condition is specifically and how

it affects you because the more knowledge they have the better they can

help you explain things like extra things you have to don't need help doing

so if you need help showering if you need help getting dressed or getting in

your chair that sort of thing it would be a good time to explain not to them as

well again the more they know the more they

can help explain your level it was fine enough and I know some people may not

know this and say you may have to do a little bit of research to figure it out

because it is kind of confusing at least it is to me but it's important that you

know the type and the level of your of the defects that you have because that

way you can you can also better understand it but also they can

understand it a little bit better as well because again like I keep saying

the more knowledge they have the better they can help now we're going to want to

talk to number four topic topic number four is be prepared for confusion and

yeah be prepared for them being confused understand that your partner that if

this may be the first time that they're hearing about it and they may be

confused it's most likely that's going to happen and it's nothing wrong with it

they just may be never heard of it before and this is a

good time to educate them and you know educate them as much as you can and

again like I said earlier make sure that they can do their own research but it is

also important that you try to educate them as much as you can that way they

can help you and kind of get a better understanding of what may lie ahead

another one is answer any questions they have as honestly as possible again not

everybody is comfortable with answering certain questions like bathroom

situation or showering things like that those are my personal topics that you

can discuss later on but I do encourage you to be as honest as you feel

comfortable being because the more that you can be honest with them it helps

them prepare for what might happen later you know for example if he helped with

showering they can be prepared for that for when you guys move in together or if

something was to happen they would already know what to do because they

would be prepared next is or educate them as much as possible so again it

goes along with them being prepared if they're educated they're most likely

gonna be more prepared for things so I would educate them as much as you know

and what you don't know you can do your own research with now we're going to

move on to topic number this is a last topic of this video so topic number five

work together a relationship between two able bodied people is hard enough so

what you need to be patient you know like I said earlier and they may not

have heard of the disability before you know there's people that have never

heard it before and it's completely fine but you need to make sure that you're

patient you know if they ask a hundred questions at once you know be prepared

for that and be patient when it happens you know because they're probably scared

and have no idea what it is or maybe we just have just curiosity question that

happens you know and so try not to be too frustrated with it

try to be as patient as you can with them because it's an adjustment for you

as well for them so try to be as patient as you can don't get frustrated with

your partner they cannot take care of you right away they have to be taught

now what I mean by this is simply what I says if they've never heard of the

disability before they might not know anything about it therefore they don't

know how to help you so again it goes along with educating them I know I'm

repeating myself but they kind of all go hand-in-hand if you think about it you

know because if you explain to them and teach them you know how things that you

have to do differently such as help getting dressed or if you have a certain

medical routine such as medications you have to take daily you know a cat things

scheduled those types of things it's gonna take a little bit for them to be

taught that and for them to get used to it so we can be patient

you know they're not robots they don't come programmed with these things so

it's important that you're as patient as you can be and try not to get frustrated

I know what is frustrating but try to be patient yeah because they're learning to

it's an adjustment for you as well as it is for them so

just be patient next is communicate now communication is probably the key to any

relationship but it's also what if you're not able bodied and you know

don't be afraid to speak up you know if they're doing something that you don't

like or they're not doing something that you need done the correct way don't be

afraid to say something you know they may get frustrated or upset but at the

end of the day it's you that matters it's the it's you that needs to care not

them they're just eating you in it you know so in at the end of the day it's

you that needs the care and it's important that it's done right so that

both of you can be held as healthy and happy as possible so I hope these tips

helped you and I hope that this video helped you if you have any further

questions or anything that you would like a specific topic any video requests

that you have of a specific topic that you would like me to include in my next

video go ahead and leave a comment for me down below and I'll research

everything and it may I may just ear tradition but yeah so thank you for

watching and if you have any other comments questions or requests go ahead

and leave it below and I'll see you guys next time bye

This is what it looks like when Tiger Woods is having fun - Duration: 5:44.

This is what it looks like when Tiger Woods is having fun

— It may sound preposterous, but it's highly possible Tiger Woods is enjoying and appreciating golf now more than he did when he was winning those 14 major championships.

Tiger Woods 20, at age 42, is a Tiger Woods who's not only noticing the roses around him, but he's actually stopping to smell them along the way.

After his 2-under 70 in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open on Saturday at Torrey Pines, The Post asked Woods if it's possible for him to enjoy the game more now than he did in his run of dominance, even if he never again wins at the crazy clip he once did.

"How many people have won at the clip I did?'' Woods said. "You're asking someone in their 40s … Am I enjoying it? Yes, a lot.''.

Woods, playing in his first PGA Tour event since last year's Farmers, has shot 72-71-70 in his first three rounds to move up 26 spots on the leaderboard and enters Sunday's final round at 3-under for the tournament, tied for 39th and eight shots behind leader Alex Noren's 11-under.

He was tied for 84th after the opening round, tied for 65th after Friday (when he made the cut on the number) and he's done it with short-game wizardry.

In his past 27 holes, Woods has hit just four fairways and he's 5-under in the stretch despite his errant ways off the tee.

Asked what his Saturday score might have been if his short game had not constantly bailed him out, Woods said, "It would have been snowing on me,'' referring to making a few snowman eights on his scorecard.

Asked what his score might have been had he hit, say, five or six more fairways than the 3-of-14 he hit Saturday, Woods said, "It would be in the 60s. That would have him in contention to win Sunday.

"His short game is probably as good or better than I ever remember it being,'' said Brandt Snedeker, who was paired with Woods on Saturday. "The long game is there.

The things I look for are: Is he fighting, is he grinding, is he doing the short-game stuff? It's all there.

It's not as far away as I thought it would be not being able to play professional golf for really two years. Tiger brings the excitement and it's fun to have that. We need that in golf.''.

Woods needs it, too. He probably needs the game more now than he did when he dominated, and his appreciation for it is showing.

There was a time when Woods was so entrenched in the heat of his prime that he blocked everything and everyone from his tunnel vision on a tournament day. Woods in those days looked, acted and played with an air of ruthlessness.

I remember one Masters when Woods emerged from the Augusta National clubhouse en route to the first tee to play a Sunday final round and he walked past his mother, Tida, with no acknowledgement that she was there to wish him well.

Woods dismissed her presence like an unsympathetic New Yorker stepping over and around a homeless person asking for spare change.

That Tiger Woods appears to be long gone. On Thursday, during Woods' opening round, something occurred that was unheard of back in the days during his dominance.

Woods got to the fourth tee of the South Course, where there was a backup, and noticed four reporters, including myself, standing off to the side of the tee box on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

He walked the 20 or so yards down the hill to where we were standing and heard us pondering whether the marine life we were watching bounce in the breaking waves below were sharks. "Those are dolphins,'' Woods offered.

He then proceeded to tell us an anecdote about one year when he was en route to one of his seven PGA Tour victories at Torrey Pines when TV commentator and resident jokester David Feherty told him a funny story in the middle of his round.

Woods speaking to reporters during a tournament round?.

He'll probably never admit to this, but Woods might find himself enjoying golf more in his 40s in a time when he has little idea where this phase of his career will take him than he did when he owned the sport for that stretch in the early 2000s like no one ever has owned it.

"It's easier to cry to God than praise Him." | Serious Sundays - Duration: 7:02.

I was writing out this sentence in response to a comment which I got on

another video of mine on why is worship music boring that is not a statement go

watch the video and this viewer al gordon asked why there wasn't more fun

upbeat songs under the Christian music genre as a songwriter myself I can say I

do write more sappy songs than happy ones and maybe this goes for all

songwriters I'm not sure but this title that I put for this video it formed in

my head because I could remember countless times where I've been like

this

and few times will have been like this

that is very sad why is it that we

can see people praying fervently in an exam hall but not after a victorious

cricket match Why is it easier to pray for sickness than to rejoice on a very

healthy day the power of praise can make an earthquake break open the bars of a

jail

praise makes the Lord fight your enemy on your behalf

Praise is like a doorway allowing God to live inside your heart

think of it how much better would the world be if we would go around praising

God for whatever he's done in our lives than

whining and mourning and saying how

can there be a god

my kid just died that means there's proof there's no God what about

your life what about your existence what about all the great things that have

happened what about the beautiful experiences you've had what about all

that the ten lepers who went to Jesus and respected him a lot and they were in

awe of him and when Jesus said go and tell the priest that you have been

healed they went and on the way they realized they were healed but only one

of them came back and told Jesus thank you and Jesus wished at that moment that

he wasn't the only one

he said where are the other nine

didn't they get healed

as well why aren't they praising me God expects that we praise Him when

things go right not only pray and cry to him when things go wrong the comment from

Al Gordon really made me think because he said there's only so much you can do to

cry out to God what about the fun that we have in our lives is that only going

to go to another part of our lives our fun is in one place and the crying is in

one place where also God is that is so not okay

I did not word that properly but I hope you got me praise is a part of worship

but it is also about thankfulness and gratitude it is a lot to do with an

attitude of joy which we need to have a lot more guys

can you just imagine your

friend coming to you only to cry on your shoulder whenever you meet them it's a

crying Bonanza also think of someone who whenever you meet them they can only

shout and thump your back and say man and they're so pumped all the time we need

a balance even if there is nothing we have this that God sent his son to die

for us and take our place so that we can live with him

forever after we finish time on this earth if we really knew exactly how that would

be we would be jumping all over the place we don't know but we have this

hope and my friends it is not a futile hope just think hypothetically how much

more effective it would be if instead of always going to God in an attitude of oh

god why can't you put this in my life I've been praying for this so much I've

been waiting so much and I have faith that you're gonna do this right now if

we would go to God and just thank him for everything that's going on and for the

fact that we know he's working on our behalf how much more effective and how

much more pleasing to God that would be and how much more trust it shows that we

are totally depending on God for his wisdom and his judgment and the way he

works out things I know this is a kind of long and deep video but in answer to

the question that started this video Gordon I think that what has happened now

for religious people especially is that there are sections in that person's life

there's a section for God and certain areas of their life and there's a

section for fun and there's a section for whatever else the Christian music

industry and I know I'm generalizing this is just my observation Christian

music industry finds it easy including me to fill this it is a deep section

right I mean our need for God it's quite deep and you find yourself at your

deepest when you are in the most serious of times the most sombering times the

most quiet times which is not always fun so I hope and I pray and my plea to

everyone watching is let's mix up all of this let's not have different sections

in our life let's put God in all of them we are not meant to fill up one section

of our heart with worship and praise but fill up the whole of a life with worship

and praise both at the surface and at the bottom so my friends I think only

when we can do this in our lives actively it will form a revival

throughout the earth of God's power and then only that can translate into the

music world it won't happen in music if Christians

all around the world are not praising God in their hearts and in their homes

and throughout their day so that is my big deep thought for you today let's do

some praise and then let's expect music that is praising God if you are not

fully sure how to go about praising God or what the power of it really is and

you're not fully convinced by the things I've said I highly recommend the books

'prison to praise' and 'power *in praise' by Merlin Carothers he was a soldier turned

preacher in the army and God revealed him a lot of truth about the power of

praise it's very interesting I'll probably link it down below or remind me if I

don't this is Vihan Damaris on serious Sundays

signing off and see you tomorrow on Miraculous Mondays buh bye
