Welcome to world news with cats. I'm Ti m...

What the--?

Where the--?

And I'm Shelter Cat.

Scientists have found that migrating birds can fly while they're asleep.

They can actually shut their brain down and fly unconscious

for longer than a Malaysian airline pilot.

Australian scientists have also found that high temperatures and heat waves can cause

reproduction problems in birds by lowering their sperm count.

The new research--

Woah, woah, woah, wait a minute, how'd they find that out?

What'd they use? Tweezers and a measuring cup?

Shelter Cat, we don't need those details.

I mean first of all, birds, yum.

And (G), you don't jerk off your prey mate.

We're gonna have to cut that out.

I'll cut you, bra!

I think he's back on the worming tablets.

In the U.S. there is gridlock after Democrats and Republicans failed to agree on a budget compromise.

President Trump is Right – US Markets Up Nearly 50% 44% Since - Duration: 2:54.

President Trump is Right US Markets Up Nearly 50% (44%) Since 2016 Election!

President Trump gave a speech today at Devos to world government, academic and business

leaders at the World Economic Forum.

He stated in his speech that the US stock markets are up due to his policies and programs

where the markets would be down by the opposite amount had Hillary won!

President Trump is right.

He stated that US markets are up by nearly 50% since his election.

(The Dow is up 44% since the 2016 election as of yesterday.)

He also stated that the markets have hit 84 all time highs since the election.

He actually understated the correct amount.

As of yesterday, with the Dow reaching another all time high, the Dow reached its 98th all

time high since the election.

President Trumps stock markets hit many records in his first year in office as noted

in many previous posts here at TGP.

The stock market on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, says it all.

On that day the Dow broke 26,000 points for the first time in its history.

As a result the Dow broke the record for the fastest 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000,

6,000 and 7,000 point increases between major milestones in the history of the Dow.

All of these increases occurred since Donald Trump was elected President.

Yesterday the Dow landed at 26,392.

The President also stated in a question and answer period that he believes that if Hillary

Clinton would have won the Presidency that the markets would be down nearly 50% because

of the business suffocating policies of the Obama Administration that the Hillary team

was sure to continue.

Next month Americans will receive more money in their checks due to lower taxes from the

Trump Tax Cut law just passed.

As time goes by, Americans will see more and more the blessing that President Trump won

the 2016 election.

It's been just 7 days since the beginning of the operation and they (Americans) are telling us that the operation must be kept short.

I want to ask them: How many years the Americans are operating in Afghanistan? Almost 20 years.

How many years in Iraq? Almost 18 years. You are still there.

Libya? How many Years? Mali, Rwanda?

And they say we should end it in a short time. Those who try to 'give us mind' (lecture us) should use their mind before giving it to us.

Obama Just Lawyered Up After Learning He's Being Implicated In Biggest Scandal In US- BreakingNews24 - Duration: 31:30.

Obama Just Lawyered Up After Learning He's Being Implicated In Biggest Scandal In US

History

Sh*t is hitting the fan in Washington, and there is no amount of bleach bit that is going

to be able to "clean" it off this time.

Obama, Hillary, Comey, Strzok, and many others are about to get the slap back to reality

that they have sorely needed for quite some time now.

Technical glitches in the form of the delete button and a hammer don't last too long

in a world where everything that has ever been sent through any device is never truly

gone.

Buckle up swamp rats, there is a hurricane coming and none of you have the know-how or

the material to save you from this storm.

We the People know, your peers know, and now it is all coming to a head.

According to Intellihub :

WASHINGTON (INTELLIHUB) — The Department of Justice has started to recover five months

worth of missing texts from FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page after it was learned

a 'technical glitch' had caused their deletion during a time when anti-Trump communications

in the ranks of the FBI were at an all time high.

Fox News reports:

Federal law enforcement officials had notified congressional committees that a technical

glitch affected thousands of FBI cellphones between Dec. 14, 2016 and May 17, 2017.

This meant that 5 months' worth of texts would be missing from Strzok and Page, both

of whom are under scrutiny after it was revealed that the former members of special counsel

Robert Mueller's team exchanged anti-Trump texts during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Hannity said sources at the DOJ told him they have begun to recover some of the texts from

that time period.

Specific content from those texts has not been released.

The missing messages have caused problems for the Justice Department inspector general's

office.

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Senate Judiciary

Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, have sent a letter to Inspector General Michael

Horowitz noting that the IG's office said on Dec. 13 that it had all the messages between

Strzok and Page between Nov. 30, 2016, and July 28, 2017.

Sean Hannity went on air Wednesday to urge congress to "release the memo" which may

shed further light on the matter.

Additionally, a source fairly close to the President has indicated to Intellihub contact

that former President Barack H. Obama has quietly retained council over the matter.

Buckle up people, this may get interesting.

Hot Air also mentions Obama being implicated as well as his name being ironically scrubbed

from the investigations.

But it seems the DOJ did turn over some additional texts that are worth considering.

One involves an early draft of the Comey memo clearing Hillary Clinton.

Originally the draft pointed out that Clinton had exchanged emails with President Obama

while she was "on the territory" of a hostile power.

Eventually, Obama's name was scrubbed from the document and finally all reference to

the incident was removed.

So that's one more example of the statement being watered down over time.

Then there is the very well-known fact that Obama used a fake name to communicate with

Hillary Clinton over a long period of time.

The fake name was reported on back in 2016 by Conservative Firing Line :

Barack Obama used a previously-unknown fake name to communicate with Hillary Clinton on

her private email server.

That report, however, flies in the face of a 2015 New York Times article that said Obama

didn't know about the private server.

According to the Post, top Hillary aide Huma Abedin was "shocked" when she learned

of it:

"How is that not classified?"

Abedin "exclaimed" to investigators when shown a copy of the 2012 exchange between

Clinton and Obama, according to a trove of 189-pages of FBI documents dumped Friday night

into Clinton's use of the private server.

Abedin asked her interrogators if she could keep a copy of the email.

The FBI documents don't reveal if they let Abedin take a copy home with her.

"This exchange strongly suggests Clinton and the president knowingly discussed classified

material in an unclassified setting and hence broke the law," said Raj Shah, the research

director at the Republican National Committee.

Politico reported on it as well:

The State Department has refused to make public that and other emails Clinton exchanged with

Obama.

Lawyers have cited the "presidential communications privilege," a variation of executive privilege,

in order to withhold the messages under the Freedom of Information Act.

The report doesn't provide more details on the contents of that particular email exchange,

but says it took place on June 28, 2012, and had the subject line: "Re: Congratulations."

It may refer to the Supreme Court's ruling that day upholding a key portion of the Obamacare

law.

A report on the FBI's June 7, 2016 interview with "Guccifer" confirms FBI Director

James Comey's claim that Lazar falsely asserted that he'd surreptitiously accessed Clinton's

server.

The New York Times, however falsely reported this on March 7, 2015:

President Obama said Saturday that he had learned only last week that Hillary Rodham

Clinton used a private email system for her official correspondence while she was secretary

of state.

"My emails, the Blackberry I carry around, all those records are available and archived,"

Mr. Obama said, according to an excerpt from the interview released Saturday evening.

"I'm glad that Hillary's instructed that those emails about official business

need to be disclosed."

In the portion of the interview that was released, Mr. Obama did not address how he could have

avoided noticing that Mrs. Clinton was sending emails from a "clintonemail.com" address

throughout the years she served in his administration.

Mrs. Clinton's use of a private email system was first reported by The New York Times last

week.

Basically, the newly revealed info about Obama once again being implicated by the released

texts isn't actually new information, just a reiteration of facts that were reported

and then HIDDEN to save Obama's butt.

He can't run anymore.

He knew abut the hidden server, he communicated under a fake name on THAT server, and now

he has been found to be involved with the anti-Trump texts, and he blatantly lied about

it all for 2 years!

Now we all are vindicated in believing that the Russian collusion witch hunt has always

been meant to cover the tracks of the true criminals in D.C.

US Approved Ukrainian War Crimes - Duration: 17:41.

Hello, colleagues! I introduce the participants in Donetsk and Lugansk.

In Donetsk the ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova - Hello

The deputies of the National Council of the DPR Miroslav Rudenko and Vladimir Bidyovka -Hello

and Elena Shishkina. She is an advocate, the member of the collection and recording of war crimes by the Ukrainian authorities in the Donbass commission  - Hello

I would like to say that Alexander Hug stated that OSCE SMM fixed 478 victims of the conflict in 2017. There are 86 people killed and 392 injured. Do you agree with this numbers or you have another numbers?

- Donetsk, please. Who will start?  - Let me do it - Daria, please

Hello dear journalists, dear colleagues It's true, the numbers are usually very different especially with the reports of OSCE.

We work very close with the United Nations Human Rights Council. If we are not agree with the numbers we usually meet the head of the mission in Ukraine Fiona Frazer.

We usually discuss the statements we don't agree with

Right now I would like to give an information not only from the last report but from the previous reports. I want to talk about the situation in Donbass and in Ukraine

Last year in Kiev the government didn't care much about the human rights. Authorities use many different antidemocratic practices

I am sorry I am very nervous. This is such an important topic for us  ...to destroy the main freedoms

In 2017 the Minsk agreements were violated. Thereby the constant threat was made for the civilians and for the infrastructure as well

The Government of Ukraine  bring to responsibility no one for the events that took place in Donbass and in Kiev

It says in the report that a government of Ukraine made several steps in 2017 to reduce the freedoms like а freedom of expression, freedom of opinion, freedom of mass media and freedom of association

In march 2017 the new law against anti-corruption activists was adopted. Reports says that Ukraine authorities didn't make any steps in investigating the work of MIROTVORETS web-site.

You know there are many people from the DPR and LPR, citizens of the Russian Federation and other countries.

We are trying to ask them to start any investigation, not only we are. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights tries too but no steps were made.

No one was brought to account for the tortures, non-official detain and other violation in the conflict contexts.

The heads of the Ukrainian Security Service despite of the witnesses statements didn't admit the non -official detain and violent disappearing. The investigations started by the Military Procuracy didn't bring any results.

You know that on 27 th of December we had a long-aviated exchange. We are having conversations with the ex-POWs and we are  documenting all the tortures they've passed through.

The minimum that the detained person spent in the dungeons of USS was 6 month. Some people spent there 3-4 years.

Thanks to the collaboration with the United Nations Human Rights Council we could find out a secret prison 1.5 year ago.

13 people were set free from there

According to the interviews with released people we know that on the Ukrainian side there is a secret prisons practice.

We are trying to make an interview with the ex-POWs with the UN, OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross representatives to document this.

We understand that there are not much International society reaction. You can have a free access to all our reports, everyone can take a look.

I would like to tell how Kiev react on these reports

I watch the interviews and Kiev refers to these reports but the phrases are taken out of context and they show them  in a good ways for themselves. They don't show the essence of the Donbass conflict

- Thank you  - Thanks very much. I guess we need to give a speech to Elena

Your public organization are fixing war crimes during three years and sending the cases to the European Court of Human Rights

I want to ask you what interim results are you fixing now?

It's true that on the territory of the DPR from the very beginning of the war conflict there is the commission of the collection and recording of war crimes by the Ukrainian authorities in the Donbass

I would like to tell you what is the commission and what is the difference between our commission and the government organizations in the DPR and LPR

The commission of the collection and recording of war crimes by the Ukrainian authorities in the Donbass is some kind of an intelligence center.

There are specialists in the field of law, criminalistics, ballistics and other citizens of our territory. This is a public, the representatives of a civil society

What is the main target of our commission? It's a fixation of a war crimes, crimes against humanity on the Donbass territory.

It's fixing and sending the materials to the International Criminal Court and European Court of Human Rights

The international organizations are fixing the Kiev authorities' crimes, but we are facing the Ukraine politics which is directed to the public and mass-media.

They give fake news. The part of our commission's work is to inform the word public, to give its true information and facts

I would like to talk about the results of work of our commission

In total our specialist sent 585 materials which are fixed and formalized in an appropriate way to the International Criminal Court.

There are annexes with the expert opinions who used the criminalistics methods to establish the directions for artillery shelling

I would like to focus on this

On the 27th of October 2016 the crime were made on the DPR territory. The heavy artillery shelling took place

We have one expert-ballist in our commission. On the basis of scientifically based methodology he determined the direction of the shell. It was from the Ukraine's territory

The conclusions of our commission were introduced in Minsk. The conclusions of the OSCE Mission and our expert are the same. In our case the conclusions are more detailed.

So 585 cases are sent. I want to say about the reactions of the International Criminal Court.

We have answer on 332 cases. We have materials from the criminal prosecutor that the cases are under the studying

This is our big victory because we began from one answer. The cases weren't accepted from us in 2015 and now we have 332 registrated cases

The information about numbers of the victims from the Ukrainian actions. The UN and OSCE reports give underestimate numbers. The categories are bad qualificated.

Our commission fixed that from August 2014 there were more than 1500 appeal sent to European Court of Human Rights

From December 2016 to December 2017 our commission fixed 272 episodes of crimes against humanity and war crimes

As the result 437 people are sufferer, 141 of them are minors, 36 died, 105 were injured and 404 adults from which 158 died, 246 were injured

- Can you repeat these numbers? - Yes,of course

- To the International Criminal Court 585 materials were send  - NO, I mean the European Court of Human Rights

From December 2016 to December 2017  the 272 episodes of war crimes were fixed.  As the result 437 sufferer,141 of them are minors, 36 died, 105 were injured. From 404 adults 158 died, 246 were injured

I would like to notice that these are not the numbers of victims. These are the numbers of materials which we've sent to the International Criminal Court and European Court of Human Rights.

The numbers of the victims are much more higher

The population of the DPR want to help us very much. They come to us and give voluntarily explanations and evidences. We ask them about the war crimes.

Before in the very beginning of a war people react different. But now it's an active civic position and people want to bring responsibles to justice

During the whole conflict on the DPR territory 4572 people died, 605 of them are women, 3967 men, 76 children.

From the 1st of January to 31st of December 2017 595 people were injured on the DPR territory. 14 children are among them.

From the 1st of January to 31st of December 278 people died, 2 of them are children. Thank you

The question is for Daria Morozova. Not so long time ago the plans about the POWs exchange were voiced.

May be you have approximate numbers of the people you'll exchange? What are the terms?

Unfortunately the POW exchange on the 27 th of December wasn't the exchange all to all.

We can't do it until the end of a conflict, before the 5th paragraph of the Minsk agreement will be accepted.

This paragraph is about the prohibition of a the pursuit and the amnesty of the ones who took part in the Donbass conflict.

We made and exchange but the arrests are continuing I want to say about the non-extradition of the foreign citizens, it's about Russian citizens.

The list was approved by the heads of Republic and supported by the Russian's president and Patriarch Kirill. We are grateful for their support and work.

All the people from the list had to be exchanged. These foreign citizens that weren't given back, they are mostly from Russian Federation.

We have cases where the citizens of the other countries like Brazil, Afghanistan were given back into the embassies

We require to send this people to our territory or to the Russian Embassy. Why was this exchange organized?

There was a category of already convicted people. They wrote a petition on Poroshenko's name to pardon them.

For those people who were under the pre-trial preventive measure was changed to the home arrest

When they pass the line they won't have any possibility to go back to Ukraine. One of the main condition in Minsk was the returning of the documents to the POW

But the documents weren't returned back

We see no difficulties to do  the next stage of the exchange.   We are calling the Ukrainian side to the dialogue

I believe we can exchange people within a month

Right now we want to take all that are confirm. They are 80 people. They were 84. We had correspondence with Mr Medvedchuk yesterday

He sent proves that 4 people were set free. We agree, we want to have a dialogue

So we took away these four people and now we have 80 people to take back

The reports of the UN, the OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross are the base for us

We wil certainly meet in Hague the respondents who are guilty in this war. War crimes do not have a statute of limitations

US threatens North Korea with 'military options' to take on 'reckless' Kim nuclear risk - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 2:46.

US threatens North Korea with 'military options' to take on 'reckless' Kim's nuclear risk

US DEFENCE chiefs have warned "military

options" are available to deal with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un if he fails to respond

to diplomatic solutions.

Donald Trump's Defense Secretary Jim Mattis stressed diplomacy as the way to deal with

the crisis during talks with his South Korean counterpart Song Young-moo in Hawaii.

The talks came day after Seoul's top diplomat said a military solution would be unacceptable

in the troubled region which has seen relations improve in the run-up to next month's Winter

Olympics.

Mr Mattis said: "Diplomacy should impose reason on Kim's reckless rhetoric and dangerous provocations.

"The response to the threat remains diplomacy led, backed up with military options available

to ensure that our diplomats are understood to be speaking from a position of strength."

The White House has said all options are on the table when it comes to North Korea's pursuit

of a nuclear-tipped missile capable of striking the US.

But Mr Mattis has consistently stressed the preference for non-military actions such as

international sanctions.

He renewed that message as he met Mr Song at the US Pacific Command headquarters in

Hawaii.

Mr Song said: "We both understand each other well and that as an alliance, we always go

together."

South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha said the standoff over North Korea's nuclear

program must be resolved diplomatically.

She said she was certain Washington would consult her government first if a military

option were to be considered.

She declined to comment if Washington had given Seoul clear assurance but added: "This

is our fate that is at stake.

Any option that is to be taken on the Korean Peninsula, cannot be implemented without us

going along."

After their first formal talks in more than two years this month, officials from the two

Koreas have been visiting each other to facilitate the North's participation in the Olympics,

to be held in the South's alpine resort town of Pyeongchang.

North Korea has waged a publicity campaign around its attendance, calling for "all Koreans

at home and abroad" to promote inter-Korean cooperation.

Give us 10 minutes, we'll break down international news for you.

Thanks for watching this Thursday.

We're starting with report from the World Meteorological Organization.

It's part of the United Nations that studies climate.

And it says that 2016 was the Earth's warmest year on record since scientists started maintaining

temporary records in the 1880s.

Researchers say that 2016 was seven hundredths of one degree Fahrenheit warmer than 2015.

That was the previous record holder.

The U.N. organization says it used several sources like NASA, to come up with its data,

though one of them, the United Kingdom's Met Office says the temperature increase it measured

was within its margin of error, according to the BBC.

So, the record is not certain across all measurements.

One big factor in the warm temperatures was a powerful El Nino, a natural warming of Pacific

Ocean surface temperatures that affected the climate from 2015 to 2016.

But a scientist from NASA says greenhouse gas emissions, which are given off by human

activity, are responsible for warming temperatures in the long-term.

Because of the recent El Nino event has subsided, scientists do not expect 2017 to break a new

warming record.

Yesterday afternoon, U.S. President Barack Obama gave his final news conference while

in office.

It was likely the last time he'd speak in public as president.

A lot of subjects were covered, increasingly strained U.S. relations with Israel and Russia,

the relationship between the White House and the media, a recent move to reduce the sentences

of more prisoners than any other U.S. president.

It all came up.

And President Obama was asked about his successor, President-elect Donald Trump, and some of

the controversies he's been involved in.

The outgoing leader said he and the incoming one had had constructive and sometimes lengthy

conversations.

But Mr. Obama said the best piece of advice he could give to Mr. Trump was to rely on

others around him, as the presidency isn't a job that anyone can do alone.

I believe in this country.

I believe in the American people.

I believe that people are more good than bad.

I believe tragic things happen.

I think there's evil in the world.

But I think that, at the end of the day, if we work hard and if we're true to those things

in us that feel true and feel right, that the world gets a little better each time.

That's what this presidency has tried to be about, and I see in the young people I've

worked with.

At my core, I think we're going to be OK.

We just had to fight for it.

We have to work for it, and not take it for granted.

And I know that you will help us do that.

Thank you very much, press corps.

Good luck.

Ten-second trivia: In terms of when it gained independence, which

of these countries is oldest?

Austria, Morocco, Brazil, or Switzerland?

The Swiss Confederation got its independence from

the Holy Roman Empire in 1499, making it the oldest independent nation on this list.

Every winter, there's an international meeting in Davos, Switzerland, the World Economic

Forum.

It's an organization that includes politicians, businesspeople, scholars, sometimes actors,

basically movers and shakers.

They aimed to improve the world by addressing issues like poverty, conflict and the global

economy.

But the event has also been criticized as an elitist meeting that does more talking

than actual problem-solving.

Either way, the meeting that's going on right now is looking at the uncertainty of the year

ahead, like an investor or a skier might look at risk and then try to minimize it.

2016 was a year of surprises.

The word here in Davos is that 2017 could present similar challenges.

So, what are some of the risks facing the global business community?

Something that could take a nice outing and turn it into an injury, steady growth into

a global recession?

As the political and business elites gather here in Davos, 2017 could shape up to be a

year of extreme risks, and here are the biggest: U.S. going off the path and into the trees

where there's less visibility.

All eyes, if you will, will be on President Trump.

Will he blaze his own trail when it comes to trade?

U.S. involvement within the NATO alliance, and how about the U.S., for example, in the

Middle East?

How about Chinese moguls?

Economic relations with Beijing are always a little bit bumpy.

How tough will the moguls get this year?

Europe potentially going off a cliff.

One major obstacle here in Davos is the widening gap between the rich and the poor, and the

resentment that's creating within the European Union.

There are major elections this year.

France, Germany and the Netherlands, and the results could push Europe over the political

cliff (ph).

So, I've chosen the ultimate route, slow and steady, hard work but less risky, with the

ultimate goal of avoiding disaster in 2017.

These are crashes are helping researches make drones safer.

These experiments are helping predict injuries caused by drone collisions.

Dummies are rigged with sensors that measure the force of a crash.

And determine if a collision will cause a neck or brain injury.

The research is key for drone regulation in the U.S.

Researchers are hoping to make drones safer.

Facing challenges concerning military conflicts, political opposition, foreign and domestic

criticism, security threats, not to mention governing a country, it is no wonder why the

American presidency is said to cause people to age faster, at least physically.

But does that necessarily mean that U.S. leaders live shorter lives than the rest of us.

It's that time again.

Time for news organization to roll out those before and after photos to show how much our

departing president has aged.

It's been dubbed "the White House effect" and it usually involves wrinkles and white

hair, or as Michelle Obama puts it -- My very own silver fox.

Maybe you've heard there's a formula for presidential aging.

A typical president ages two years for every year they're in office.

And there really is one reason, it's the stress.

No, it's not true.

They do not age at twice the normal rate.

Longevity expert Professor J. Olhansky disputes Dr. Michael Roizen's formula.

Perhaps the graying of the hair and wrinkling of the skin may grow more rapidly as a result

of stress, but it's certainly not shortening their lives.

Professor Olhansky says research shows presidents live way longer than regular citizens.

Sure presidents look like they're going downhill in photos.

But guess what?

If you take a picture of anybody eight years apart, you're going to see the same changes

in the rest of us as you see in the presidents.

MOOS (on camera): Really?

So what?

That's me eight years ago.

Do you think the grueling life of a TV humor reporter has taken a toll?

Wonder how long it will take 70-year-old Donald Trump's hair to change shades once he's president.

Though Michelle Obama seems immune from the White House effect --

The only way to date her in photos is by looking at me.

Here we are in 2008, here we are a few years later and this one is from two weeks ago.

So, in all fairness, how about the aging of a CNN STUDENT NEWS and now, CNN 10 anchor?

Is age just a number?

Certainly, an age old question, which is itself a popular adage.

Whatever you think, the only thing I'll tell you about my own age is the same truth I would

have told you eight years ago -- I'm older than your brother but younger than your dad.

Spend another 10 minutes with us tomorrow.

We've got a special edition set up looking at the U.S. presidential inauguration, specifically

the all-important oath of office.

I'm Carl Azuz.
