Should an actor have a business account or a regular account on Instagram?

Let's discuss.

If you're new here, I'm Heidi Dean and I teach you how to rock your social media, make more

connections, and create the #actorslife of your dreams.

Today, we are talking about should an actor have a regular account or a business account

on Instagram.

There are a lot of pros and cons, and I'm going to break them down for you today.

Let's stay with the pros for why you may switch to an Instagram business account as an actor.

Pro #1 is you're going to get a direct contact button, so people can actually directly

contact you from your Instagram business page.

This can be useful.

Of course, I do not suggest that you put your phone number there.

Make sure it's a service number or a Google phone number.

You do not want all of the world to be able to contact you through Instagram.

Another PRO for having an Instagram business account is that you get detailed analytics

on your posts, which is really one of the best reasons to switch over to a business

account.

If you have a business account, all you have to do is go into your account, go to the top

right, you'll see three little lines, and then go into "Audience Insights" and you're

going to find under Insights so many analytics that are super, super useful for your account.

In these detailed analytics, it's pretty cool, you can find out demographics, so you can

find out are your followers mostly male or female.

This can be super important when you're creating your posts.

Right?

You can find out where they're located.

You can find out their age.

This is so important because if I find out that my followers are mostly women, they're

in their 30s because they're my age, and they're equal New York and L.A., it means that I can

kind of create posts knowing this information.

In these analytics, another great feature is that you can find out the best time to

post for your account.

They will tell you the days, the best times, and some of this is going to be relative to

the location of your followers, but it's really, really useful advice for you.

Also, you get detailed analytics on your posts themselves, so you can actually go in and

see what are your followers responding to?

This is so important because whatever your followers are responding to, you obviously

should be doing more of that.

The third reason to possibly switch to an Instagram business account is because you

can get that swipe up feature.

And I'm sure you've seen this on Instagram Stories.

You see a post, you see a little swipe up, Jeff saying "look up" or a little "learn more"

at the bottom.

To get the swipe up, you need to have a business account and 10,000 followers.

So if you have a larger account, it may be enough of a reason to switch to an Instagram

business account.

One of the business reasons, I'd say, a lot of actors are switching from an Instagram

regular account to a business account is because you can actually auto-schedule with an Instagram

business account.

To do this you would use a third-party scheduler, like Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, or Planoly,

like you see here, to schedule your posts in advance.

So you could actually be posting in your sleep, posting from rehearsal, posting from set when

you are not actually posting.

It's pretty cool, and I know that auto-posting feature is one reason a lot of actors are

switching from a regular account to a business account.

Now that we've talked about the PROS for having an Instagram business account, let's talk

about the CONS.

There aren't that many CONS right now.

Instagram is making it SUPER attractive to have a business account.

CON: If you create an Instagram business account, you have to create a Facebook page to go with

it.

So for some people, if you are done with your Facebook page, if you don't want a Facebook

page because it's too much, having to create a Facebook page may not be a good thing.

Now, with that said, you can create a Facebook page to connect to your Instagram business

profile, and not use it.

You can put a header at the top that says, "Hey, guys, I don't play here," or "Hey, I'm

over on my Facebook profile.

Go check me out there."

So you don't necessarily have to actively use this page, just know that it is a requirement

that you have a Facebook page if you set up an Instagram business account.

For some people, this would be a CON.

Right?

And the last con, which is not really a con yet, is that we have to remember who owns

Instagram.

Facebook owns Instagram.

About 5 years ago, it was really great advice to tell actors that everything actor

should have a Facebook page, but now, when on your Facebook page, you may get less than

1% engagement on your posts.

1% of your fans may actually be seeing your posts on a Facebook page because of the algorithm.

That could happen in a couple of years in Instagram.

That could happen in six months.

They would just decide, "Okay, guys.

It's time to pay to play."

It's technically not a CON, but we do want to look out for that and be aware of it, that

Facebook does own Instagram, and the business account could go the way of the Facebook page.

If you do want to give the Instagram business account a try, all you have to do is go to

your settings, and then find "Switch to a business profile", and they will walk you

through it step by step.

And if you decide the Instagram business account is just not for you, at least for right now,

Instagram is letting us switch back to a personal account at any time.

Now that you know the PROS and the CONS, hopefully, you can make an educated decision on whether

or not you want to switch.

Kanye West took to Instagram on Thursday to address the rumors that Drake had an affair

with his wife, Kim Kardashian-West.

In four separate videos, the Chicago artist states that the rumors are untrue, and goes

on to detail why he takes issue with Drake's handling of the situation.

West claims that Drake is aware that he's stoking the flames of a cheating scandal that

never happened.

In early September, Kim Kardashian denied having a relationship with Drake.

The reality mogul commented "Never happened.

End of story," below a post by The Shade Room where Nick Cannon discusses the possibility

of Kardashian cheating on her husband.

The clip came from an episode of Complex's "Everyday Struggle."

Kanye addressed Nick Cannon (and Tyson Beckford) in the series of videos he posted to Instagram.

Viral conspiracy threads on Twitter have tried to connect the dots of a Drake and Kim romance.

Many fans believe the "Kiki" mentioned in the hook for "In My Feelings" is a

reference to Kim's familial nickname.

However, Genius reported that a credible source close to the situation revealed that K'yanna

Barber is the real "Kiki."

So of course I was scrolling Instagram and looking

for the next best beauty thing on the

market and I thought ah Pore Cleanser

suction device because if you guys use

that black mask.... I can't even think of

what the name of it is now but it's the

black stuff you put on it's like all the

rage at Sephora and then you wait 15

minutes and peel it off oh my gosh my

face looks like..... I know I have

sensitive skin but it's a full-on tomato

when I peel it off. it'll get some dirt

out of the pores and stuff but oh my gosh

my face is super red for like 30 minutes

and my daughter has really sensitive

skin and she does it and it doesn't do

that to her so I there's something in it

that is irritating my skin in particular

and so I can't really use that

so I was thinking hey this stuff might

be my answer because there's no

ingredients in it.... it's just a pore

sucking device so I bought it and I read

some of the instructions and one of the

things in the instructions

is do not use this in the morning use it

at night only so that it gives your face

a chance to chill I guess there's a

really good reason why you are not

supposed to use this in the morning so

here's what it looks like. It comes like this

and there's these different suction

devices, torture chamber, and it's a super

super cute rose gold color not that that

matters at all....but I mean....yikes.....

okay so it takes batteries batteries in

there's different suction thingies on

here that come off like this so this is

the one that comes on it and then

there's a whole bunch of other ones I've

only used the one that it came on this

one's got like some sort of bling on

here like is this so you can be a diva

while you're sucking the stuff off your

face I don't know why it has that

it's like a nail file, an exfoliator? I

don't know I didn't look up that part

but I tried it and after I tried it it

says don't leave it on your skin in any

one area for longer than a second

because well this is why after one

second

I either looked like Rudolph or I look

like I had a make-out session with

myself

this fully causes hickeys on your face

like what? And, I might add......,it doesn't go away for a day or

two so if you have sensitive skin run

from this thing because it literally

looked like I had hickeys on my chin and

my nose

my husband had questions

as far as if it works um...it say to steam

your face first or use a hot washcloth

to kind of open up your pores and stuff

and so the the dirt will come out

easier there was maybe one or two as

you're putting it on there like one or

two times where something came out but

it was pretty rare so I I do not think

this works I do not think it's worth it

I think it hurts and I think it makes

you look like you have a hickey

work without looking like you made out

with yourself because it that's what it

looks like to me I'm gonna say no on

this I'm gonna say hard pass

getting a good exfoliating cleanser and

a toner and just keeping your pores

How to Save Instagram Story Highlights - Duration: 2:09.

What's up in this video you are going to learn how to save Instagram story highlights.

So when you're on Instagram and you've posted to your Instagram story you can actually save

images from your story and create different highlights that will show up in your Instagram bio

You've probably seen those little circles below different people's Instagram bios showing their highlights

which is a collection of very specific Instagram stories. So let me show you really quickly how to do that.

To do this you're going to want to open up Instagram and you're gonna obviously need something on your Instagram story

So right here on my Instagram story

I have a little image and let's say I want to add it to a highlight or create a new highlight.

So at the bottom, you're gonna see the little heart highlight button if you press that

You can create a new highlight or add it to a highlight. Right now

I don't have any highlights so I could create a new highlight called

selfies or I don't know whatever you want to call it, and you're just gonna click add,

and now if I go to my profile I can see right there on my profile screen

selfies and anytime I do a new

Instagram story I can add it to that highlight reel or I

can create a brand new highlight reel and add other images to it from my other stories?

So the nice thing here too is I can add some archived Instagram stories

So if you take an Instagram story and you forget to add it to your highlight, you can actually go back to previous

Instagram stories and add them to your highlight reel later on which is really convenient.

..social media seems to have it all.

But while it's easy to think

all those posts just exist for funsies,

a lot of it is actually big business.

Studies show people can be influenced into buying something

just by seeing someone who seems fashionable, fit,

alternative, cool, knowledgeable, talented,

or just plain famous wear it, use it,

or say how completely, amazingly awesome it is.

And that's why businesses like to use celebrities

and social media stars to feature their stuff.

(GASPS) Breakout Beasts!

But it's not always obvious when something is an ad.

It might just be a product

deliberately placed in a pretty photo,

like this, this, or this.

But what happens when that product is actually really dangerous

to your health and illegal to advertise in any other way?

Well, that's an issue that's got many anti-smoking organisations

seriously worried right now.

They carried out a study in the US

and discovered that big tobacco companies

are asking some of the most Insta-worthy influencers

to subtly promote cigarettes in their posts.

They found evidence of campaigns to target people -

especially young people -

in at least 40 different countries, including Australia.

The tobacco companies paid the influencers money,

gave them gifts or invitations to exclusive parties.

And the posts?

Well, the study showed they got at least 25 billion views

and clicks all around the world.

That's some serious influence.

But advertising cigarettes is illegal in Australia

and has been since the 1970s.

Companies can be fined up to $126,000,

and an individual person, up to $25,000.

The only thing that's allowed here are ads against smoking.

But social media is a bit of a loophole to those advertising laws

because the stuff we're seeing isn't all originating in Australia.

It's from all over the place,

and that can make it pretty tough to track.

Because of that, experts say,

when you're over 13 and scrolling through your feed,

just keep in mind that these guys are called influencers for a reason.

They have a lot of it, and many are willing to sell it.

Whenever I see things that people are wearing,

I always think, "I want that."

There's a lot of models, I think, on it as well, or, um...

Which can influence younger users - teenagers and stuff -

to aspire to be like them.

I think a lot of people depend heavily on social media these days,

especially people my age,

so I think that it does influence what we buy, what we look up to,

what we do in our lives more than we'd like to admit.

Kanye West decided to air out some of his grievances via Instagram on Thursday.

In a series of video posts, the rapper took aim at a number of celebrities, most notably Drake.

He chastised Drake for not squashing rumors that he slept with Kim Kardashian, and mocked his on-again/off-again relationship with Rihanna.

"If someone brings my wife up, say, 'I respect that man, I'm not speaking on that,'" West explained.

West Warned Drake Not to 'Speak on His Family'.

"Now I told ya, I didn't tell Pusha no information about your baby, baby mama, nothing, that don't come from me," he added.

"Don't speak on nobody from our family nothing that can even be mentioned with my wife period." The second part of his comment refers to the Drake diss "The Story of Adidon," which is where Pusha T revealed that the rapper was a father.

West apologized for the diss on Twitter some weeks ago, saying that it was out of line and that he has nothing but love for Drake. "Sending good energy and love to Drake and family and crew… I understand where the confusion started," he tweeted.

"Let me start by apologizing for stepping on your release date in the first place … We were building a bond and working on music together including squashing the issues with [Kid] Cudi at our office." Despite this promise, however, West goes on to mock the "Nice for What" rapper by mentioning his alleged romance with Rihanna.

West Feels That Drake Is 'Too Smart' to Fuel Rumors About Him & Kim Kardashian.

"People making rumors or thinking you f*cked my wife and you're not saying nothing…that don't sit well with my spirit," he said. "You know, if I had a girlfriend from Chicago, her name was Renita, and you was married to Rihanna, I wouldn't make no song called Riri.

West concluded the message by saying that he doesn't much care to renew their friendship.

Drake doesn't seem eager to reconcile either.

His verse on the new French Montana single "No Stylist" includes what many believe to be a subliminal dig at West and his Adidas shoe deal. "Keep it a G, I told her don't wear no 350s 'round me," he raps.

Port Adelaide's Sam Powell-Pepper apologises for sharing 'private image' on Instagram - Duration: 3:06.

Port Adelaide player Sam Powell-Pepper has made headlines once again and has been forced to publicly apologise for releasing a "private image" via his social media account

It is the second time this year that the midfielder has been caught up in controversy away from the football field

He was suspended by the AFL in April after he was found to have inappropriately touched a woman at an Adelaide bar while he was drunk

The incident occurred following the Power's win over Brisbane.But in the latest incident, he posted a "private image" on his Instagram account — which was quickly removed — that shows a man lying on a bed in his underwear, with a woman lying on his thigh

Powell-Pepper was quick to sound out an apology via his Instagram account, which has more than 20,000 followers

He released a statement on his social media account shortly after the post apologising for the accident

"I just want to apologise for an image I posted earlier today of me and my girlfriend," his post said

"I posted the image by accident and immediately removed it once I realised."Apologies if I have offended anybody

" The AFL announced it would be investigating the incident via a statement, saying it was "disappointed" to see the image on social media

"The AFL is disappointed to see an image like this shared on social media.We request that the person who is identifiable be protected and respected by the media," the statement read

"The AFL Integrity Unit and the GM Social Policy is assessing the photo and its distribution

The AFL has spoken with the club."No further comment shall be made at this stage." The Port Adelaide Football Club also released a statement on Friday afternoon stating it was aware of the image and was comfortable that it was "unintentional"

"Port Adelaide Football Club is aware of an image posted on Sam Powell-Pepper's Instagram account earlier today," the statement said

"The club has spoken to all parties and is comfortable the posting of this image by Sam of he and his girlfriend on this public forum was unintentional

"Sam has apologised and the club has fully accepted his apology.The club asks media to respect the privacy of Sam and his girlfriend regarding this matter
