Today, after watching his

music showcase,

I'm really very happy!

Things to Know Before Going to South Africa Part 1: Music & People - Duration: 4:26.

Before I visit any country, the first thing I do is research the people of

that country, the culture, and how they get down. it makes it a thousand times

easier to make friends when people can see that you're genuinely interested

in their culture. with each country I visit I'm gonna make videos that equips

you with everything you need to know before going to that country. now the

first country I'm going to do that with is South Africa so let's get right to it.

the music in South Africa is very unique, fun, and it gets the party started.

for decades South African artists have been in jazz, r&b, and hip-hop. but

what makes it very unique is their afro house music which fuses house music with

soul, funk, and South African sounds.

now there are tons of great South African artists out there so I do

suggest that if you're interested that you go to a YouTube, Spotify, or a Tidal

playlist to find the latest and Afro house and other South African genres of

music. now the people of South Africa are very genuine people they're very caring

they're very loving and they love to share their culture especially with us

of the Diaspora. now let's get into the ethnic groups of South Africa now

whenever we discuss African countries I will consistently emphasize the fact

that all these African countries have dozens and dozens and dozens of

different ethnic groups that at one point in time where their own sovereign

nations before Europeans showed up and create the artificial border lines that

we know as the 54 countries of Africa. today South Africa is no different as

there's a lot a dozen different ethnic groups in South Africa most of which are

easily referenceable thanks to the movie Black Panther which use a lot of

different ethnic groups of South Africa as inspiration for Wakanda. now in the

South East region you have the Xhosa people whose distinctive language was

used as the official language of Wakanda in all of the Marvel movies. in the East

you have the infamous Zulus which at one point was the mighty empire led by King

Shaka. in the middle and northern regions you have the Sothos who are known to

wear those colorful blankets. now in the north region you have the in the Ndebele

people now traditionally they wear the golden rings around their necks which

symbolizes that a woman is married and the more rings she has around her neck

means that her husband is very wealthy. in the northern region you also have the

Tswana, Pedi, Venda, Tsonga and Swazi. now in the West you have the Dutch now they

may refer to themselves as afrikaners (i know that sounds as confusing)

but I'm going to call them Dutch they came from Europe, they

came from the Netherlands to be more specific, they're Dutch

""but DeNorris, they would claim"".... it no no no no they're Dutch. and the last group are the colors

that the colors are the people of mixed race. now the word Coloureds really is

not derogatory in South Africa as much as it is in America and what makes it

very different from America is that the Coloureds have their own different culture

and they do speak the language of Afrikaans which once again, is Dutch, it's

a Dutch derivative. all right now on the next video I'm gonna go over the food
