Heaven Has IMPENETRABLE WALLS No Sinners Will Enter - Duration: 3:05.

"Lord," someone asked Him, "will only a few people be saved?"

Jesus answered, 24"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door.

For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.

25After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking

and saying, 'Lord, open the door for us.'

But he will reply, 'I do not know where you are from.'

26Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.'

27And he will answer, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from.

Depart from me, all you evildoers.'

28There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth"Luke 13:23-28.

Revelation 20:11-15 "Then I saw a great white throne and the One seated on it.

The earth and the heavens fled from His presence, and no place was found for them.

12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne.

And there were open books, and one of them was the book of life.

And the dead were judged according to their deeds, as recorded in the books.

13The sea gave up its dead, and Death and Hades gave up their dead, and each one was

judged according to his deeds.

14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.

This is the second death—the lake of fire.

15And if anyone was found whose name was not written in the book of life, he was thrown

into the lake of fire."

Jesus Christ writes your name in the book of life when you accept Him, but He will also

delete your name from the book of life if you keep on disobeying Him.

Jesus is the way, the life and the truth.

He is the only door through which you can enter heaven.

Those whose names are not written in the book of life will not enter heaven.

Is your name written in the book of life?

Do you follow and obey Jesus?

May Jesus bless you.

Jesus Christ is alive and hell is real.

Words of Faith Will Change Your Situation - Duration: 23:01.

(Singing) I know my God has made the way for

me. I know my God has made the way for me.

ANNOUNCER: God's word spoken by faith becomes the most

powerful force on planet earth. Join Kenneth Copeland today on

the Believer's Voice of Victory and learn how

faith-filled words can change any situation.

KENNETH: Now, let's go over to 1 John.

Turn with me to the fourth chapter. Now all this has, all

this is part of the basic fundamentals of faith. In

chapter 4, and let's begin reading, well let's begin

reading with the 10th verse. "Herein is love. Not that we

love God but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the

propitiation of the sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, if God so

loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man has seen God

at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us and

his love is perfected in us. Hereby, know we that we dwell in

him, and he in us because he hath given us of his Spirit. And

we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be

the savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that

Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him and he in God.

And we have known," here's what I wanted you to get. "We have

known," that word known in gnosko. Very intimate, to know.

"We have known and believed the love that God had to us." Every

believer, every person, when you made Jesus Christ the Lord of

your life, amen, you got born again. You were, you became a

new creature. Old things passed away and all things became new

and all things were of God. At that moment, that was the most

intimate moment you will ever know of God on this side of

heaven. Oh, my. You know him. You're not just acquainted with

him. You know him. You're known of him. That's precious. But

what about the believing the love? Ah, not so much. Oh I

know. We can run a poll in here this morning. We'd get 100%

result. Every single one, do you believe God loves you? Oh yes,

man. Yes. Oh yes. Oh yes. Oh yes. "I don't

understand. ... I just don't understand how you could let

this come on my family." Really? What happened in the wilderness?

They did not believe he loved them. They did not. His own

staff had no revelation of that. In the middle of that storm,

woke him up and said, "Don't you care?" Don't ever, ever, ever,

don't ever, ever, ever heed to the temptation to say that. You

just slap the water out of yourself before you say that. I

mean physically. Just whop yourself upside the head. Just

don't ever be saying that. No sir. No sir. I will not, I will

not allow that to come through my lips. Now in closing this

today, let's go over to the gospel of John, the 14th

chapter. We have found out how powerful words are. Words are

the most powerful and the most important things on this planet.

Jesus said, in the 10th verse of the 14th chapter of John,

"Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me?

The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself, but the

Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." Now you

remember in John 6:63, he said "The words that I speak unto you

are Spirit and they are life." Now he never spoke any death

words. Every word he said came first from the Father. Then out

his mouth, they were words of life. All words in some form or

another are Spirit. Even flesh words are spiritual in nature.

Amen. Now, 18th chapter of the book of Proverbs says that the

power of death and life are in the tongue. Now see, Jesus using

that law but he never spoke the death side. He said the words

that I speak unto you, let's look at it again. The way it's

worded is very important. "Believest thou not that I'm in

the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you,

I speak not of myself." Now we could summarize like this. You

could go to the 8th chapter of John and so forth and so on, and

particularly when he said the Son can do nothing of himself.

Jesus literally said, "I only say what I hear my Father say,

and I only do what I see my Father do." Oh how important

this is. The Spirit of God gave that woman with the issue of

blood the words to say. She didn't make them up. Jairus said

exactly to Jesus what the Spirit of God put in his heart and

mouth to say and he never ever said another word until that

girl was raised up. He never said another word. Even when

they came up and told him, "You're daughter's dead. Forget

it." He never said another word. I can give you an illustration

that people praying for family members. Oh, God save Uncle

Fred. Oh God save Aunt Minnie. Oh God save my child. Save my

child. You have not prayed anything yet. In the first

place, he's already done everything that it takes for

your baby to get saved. He did his part. He went to the cross,

shed the blood and the gift of God is eternal life. It is a

gift. Amen. And it's ready. Well now, what should I be praying? I

learned this from Brother Hagin, and I've seen it work so many

times. So many times. You, do you remember what the word said?

If you're going to spoil a strong man's house, first bind

him. Don't try to go around banging around in the devil's

house until you bind him. Bind him up. Now listen to what Jesus

said. "Whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven." Until

you bind on earth, there's not anything heaven can do about the

binding, because the earth and the fullness therein, has been

given to men. The authority is here. Jesus gave that authority

and right before he left, he turned it over to his body. You

cast out the devil. You lay hands on the sick and they'll

recover. All authority has been given unto me, both in heaven

and earth. Therefore, you go and take my name. No other name

under heaven, given unto men. It's in the hands of men. So

before you going to spoil a strong man's house, bind him.

You spirit, operating in the life of my son, my daughter, my

dad, my mother, whomever. You, I adjure you in the name of Jesus

Christ whose I am and whom I serve. You desist today. Stop

today. Stop it right now. You stop, in his life. Trying to

keep him out of the kingdom of God. I bind you. You're done.

Now don't start trying to go on your feelings. James 4:7. You

submitted yourself to God. Then you resisted the devil. Far as

you're concerned, he's fled. Now we're not done yet. Pray ye the

Lord of the harvest, send laborers into the field. Father,

you know exactly, you know exactly to whom my Son will

listen. You know, you know exactly. I'm asking you to send

laborers across his path, with the word of his salvation. The

word of his healing. The word of his prosperity. Everything he

needs to know, I claim him today in the name of Jesus and as far

as I'm concerned, it's done, and from this moment on, I'm just

going to praise you and thank you. Glory to God. I'm going to

praise you and thank you and start listening for a phone

call. Now my mama prayed for me night and day. Now, mama, when I

say night and day, I don't mean that figuratively. My mama

prayed night and day. I'd leave home at night and come back at

two, three, four in the morning. She's still in there praying. I

said, "Daddy, don't she ever sleep?" He said, "She don't even

wrinkle the sheets." Now I won't go into all the reasons why, but

there was a reason for that. She made up her mind, and she set

out in a prayer life, and that's what she did, all the time.

Well, she just kept praying for me, just kept praying for me,

just kept praying for me, and saw no results whatsoever. One

day ... Now see, she hadn't gotten into the, where Peter in

1 Peter 5:6-10, "Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God,

casting all your care over on him." That's true Bible

humility. Casting your care over on him. The Amplified says,

"Once and for all." Your cares, anxieties, worries, concerns.

"For he cares for you, and he will exult you in due time. He

will establish you. He will strengthen you." Well, she

wasn't acting specifically on that scripture but the Spirit of

God was leading her in that direction. She walked through

the kitchen and threw her Bible down on the kitchen table. She

said, "Lord, if he goes to hell it's your fault. I'm not praying

for him anymore." Gloria got saved in one week, and I got

saved in two. She finally put it in his hands, and it worked.

Amen. All care, worry, all of it's fear based and it's fear

dependent. It has to have fear for it to work in your life.

Perfected love, perfected love. I said perfected love casteth

out fear. So what do you do? You begin by purposely surrounding

that person with faith thoughts and love thoughts. You begin to

surround the person with whom you have problems and troubles

and maybe someone that just, really, their calling in life

seems to make your life miserable. Get all that out of

your mind and just said, "Lord I forgive them. I forgive them. I

love them. I love her. I love her. I love him. I love her. I

surround them with faith thoughts, that this is what

they're going to look like when they get born again, full of the

Holy Ghost. They're going to just come in and dancing all

around the house, and just begin to meditate on those

scriptures." You're going to have some thought change and

renew your mind. The way you renew your mind is take a

thought and say it. Take a thought and say it. Jesus

introduced that when he said, "Why take ye thought saying,

what are we going to eat, what are we going to drink, what are

we going to wear? Your Father knows you have need of these

things." But see, the spiritual law there, you take a thought by

saying it. You don't say it. You don't take the thought. It will

die stillborn, if you keep from saying it with your mouth. You

take the thought from the scripture. You take the thought

from the plan God gave you. You take the thought of the words he

said and put in your mouth. You take that thought and say it.

You take that thought and say it. You take that thought and

say it. You take that thought and say it. That's the way you

renew your mind. You take that thought and say it. You take

that thought and say it on purpose. You take that thought

and saying. You keep doing that, it will start coming out of your

mouth without you having to think about it. Now when you

were doing the other way, when you were worrying it, it took

that thought and said it. It just come out your mouth. It

just come rolling out of your mouth. You didn't have to think,

what am I going to do? You just said it all. What am I going to

do? What am I going to do? Well take that spiritual law and turn

it against the devil and turn it for Jesus and it will work for

you instead of against you. Take the thought and say it. Take the

1 Peter 2:24 and say it. Take it and say it. Take that thought

and say it. Write down the things that God says to you. I

said I'd close with that, but I'm going to close with this. I

believe this will help you. Sit down and write down all of your

cares. The worries of your life. The things that you don't have

any business carrying around with you. Well, Lord if you just

take half of them, I believe I can carry the other half. That

ain't nothing but pride. You can't carry none of them. You

weren't created to carry cares. You were created to be carefree.

Write them down. Write each one of them down on a piece of

paper. Prepare the communion elements. Take communion, and

say, "Lord I judge myself of each one of these. I'm rolling

the care of this over on you." Date it. Take the communion.

Begin to praise him and you will come to that moment of victory.

When you do, burn that list. Just watch it go up in smoke. I

mean, impress your thinking with the fact, those worries are not

mine anymore. That's not my care. That is not my care. I

said that is not my care. You start thinking about that again,

and you say, "No. I choose not to think about that. I choose to

think about this. I think about what the word says about that."

When you've got that whole list of cares up there, go find the

scripture that takes it away. Go find the scripture, whatever the

care is. You don't do this until you find the scripture.

Without the Word, burning a list don't do

anything, but you go find the scripture for

every one of them. I gave you some scriptures this

morning about praying for your kinfolks. First bind the

strongman. Well that's a scripture. Find the scriptures.

They cover every one of those cares, amen. Then cast them all

over on Jesus. Judge it, praise God. Now you can do this if you

want to. I made a quality decision. A quality decision is

one about which there's no more argument and from which there is

no more retreat. That's my decision. I said, "Lord, you

help me now. With your help, and you wake me up if I get over

into picking up this care, any worry, anytime, anymore. I'm

holding you responsible to put it into my thinking, remind me

of it. I refuse to let the sun go down on care in my life."

I'm not going to carry care anymore.

ANNOUNCER: We hope you enjoyed today's teaching from Kenneth

Copeland Ministries. And remember Jesus is Lord.

10 Most Heart Touching Videos That Will Make You Cry - Duration: 9:33.

From a tear-jerking reunion between a man and lion to a dying professor's inspiring

speech, these are 10 touching videos that will make you cry!

10.

"Christian the Lion - Reunited" The story about Christian the Lion and his

caretakers is definitely one of the most touching examples of the undeniable bond between humans

and animals.

Christian was born in a Devon zoo in August 1969 and sold to the prestigious London department

store Harrod's when he was just a few months old.

He was then bought by two Australian men, John Rendall and Ace Bourke, who were working

in London at an antique furniture shop.

John and Ace took the cub home to their flat in Chelsea and named him Christian, as an

irony of Christians being fed to the lions in Ancient Rome.

John and Ace looked after Christian and treated him as a giant pet, but the lion quickly grew

and became impossible to control in the city environment.

This is when the men decided to take Christian back into the wild and set him free.

They contacted the Kenyan Wildlife Services for help, and after a long bureaucratic battle

the lion finally arrived at the Kora Nature Reserve in 1971.

Since Christian was extremely inexperienced in this environment, his first year in Kenya

was anything but easy and he had a lot to learn.

Luckily, his natural instincts were intact and he soon grew accustomed to the life in

the wild.

This is where the story gets touching so get your tissues ready!

A year after leaving Christian in Kenya, Ace and John returned to visit the now wild lion

and decided to record their momentous trip.

As the video shows, Ace and John walked into what had then become Christian's territory.

Conservationist George Adamson who worked at the Kora appears on the top of the hill,

about 100 m away, with Christian right behind him.

Christian stops and takes a long hard stare at the two men.

Taking his time, he slowly walks down the hill towards them.

The men then call out his name and the lion comes running towards them and jumps into

their arms.

What makes this video so touching is the fact that Christian not only recognized Ace and

John, but appears to be genuinely happy to see them again!

9.

"Last Minutes with ODEN" Here's another story about the special relationship

between humans and animals that is bound to make you weep!

When Jason Wood allowed filmmaker Eliot Rausch to document the day he put his cancer-stricken

dog, Oden, to sleep, he may not have realized that the result would be viewed over six million

times.

But fortunately he did, because "Last Minutes with ODEN" is one of the most heart-wrenching

videos out there.

Spanning a short six minutes, this video story shares an emotional voiceover about the owner's

decision to end his canine companion's suffering.

Limping on only three legs, but still as loyal as ever to his owner, Oden's time had come

and his job of serving unconditionally was completed.

Not only does the subject matter of this short clip make anyone watching it cry their eyes

out, but the film is also an exceptional piece of art.

The movie uses gorgeous angles and composition to stay close in on the details of both the

man and the dog.

You can literally see the acceptance in the watery eyes of Oden and the heart-breaking

pain in Jason as he bicycles around the city, trying to clear his mind.

Whether or not you're a dog person, this video won't leave you indifferent.

"29 Years Old and Hearing Myself for the 1st Time!"

Sarah Churman is a Texas woman who at the age of 29 virtually overnight became the most

famous hearing healthcare patient in the world.

Her YouTube video has been watched over 27 million times!

On 27 September, 2011, the wife and mother of two young daughters had her recently implanted

Envoy Medical Esteem, a middle ear hearing system, activated for the first time.

Her husband, Sloan, videotaped the event, at his mother's suggestion.

After Sarah posted the video on YouTube, titled "29 years old and hearing myself for the

1st time!" millions of people around the world found themselves crying over their keyboards.

And it's not hard to see why this emotional video caught on.

It's pretty much the most heartwarming 90 seconds you'll ever see on the Internet.

When the technician turns on the hearing device and asks Sarah if she notices the difference,

she nods and then bursts into uncontrollable tears of joy.

For the rest of the video, she is alternately crying and laughing so hard that she can barely

get a word out, except at one point to exclaim, "My laughter sounds so loud!"

Sarah had been born deaf, and, despite wearing hearing aids from an early age, had never

been able to hear her own voice until getting her implant.

Talk about tears of joy!

7.

"Perseverance – Derek Redmond" The determination British runner Derek Redmond

showed at the 1992 Olympics is not only one of the best moments in sports history but

also one of the most touching videos you'll ever see.

A 400-metre record holder, in Britain, Redmond was at the peak of his athletic abilities

on the day he took his starting-line position during the Barcelona semi-finals in 1992.

His father was there to watch his Olympian son compete.

Everything seemed fine, during the run, until Redmond's hamstring snapped and fell to the

ground in excruciating pain.

Derek hobbled about 50m until he was at the 200m mark.

Then he realized it was all over.

He looked round and saw that everyone else had crossed the finishing line.

But Derek is not the one to give up easily, so he decided he was going to finish that

race if it was the last race he ever did.

All the doctors and officials rushed onto the track, trying to stop Derek but he was

having none of it.

Then, with about 100m to go, he became aware of someone else on the track.

At first, he didn't realize it was his dad, Jim, but then he heard a familiar voice telling

him, "Derek, it's me, you don't need to do this."

After Derek told his father he wanted to finish and get back in the semi-final, his father

simply replied, "OK.

We started this thing together and now we'll finish it together."

Derek's father managed to get him to stop trying to run and just walk and he kept repeating,

"You're a champion, you've got nothing to prove."

After Derek and his father hobbled over the finishing line, there was a standing ovation

by the 65,000 crowd and the heartwarming footage has since been used in adverts by Visa, Nike

and the International Olympic Committee as the ultimate symbol of perseverance and father's

love.

"Dog Gets Best 'What The Fluff' Challenge Surprise Ever"

Soldiers know, the only thing that could make coming home from a long deployment better

is coming home to your dog.

In the heartwarming video, the dog is at first completely unamused with its owner's attempt

at the viral "What The Fluff Challenge" - in which dog owners try to confuse their

pets by doing a peek-a-boo trick.

But this adorable pup then goes completely berserk when the big reveal goes down.

This emotional reunion was filmed in Livermore, California, by Lisa Lord whose son, Private

1st Class Kevin, arrived home after nine months in Fort Bragg military base where he had been

training for the Special Forces Qualification course.

Kevin was granted to come home to see family and friends before he would return back to

his base to continue the 18-month long intense training hoping to become a Green Beret, and

Lisa and her younger son, Jacob, thought it would be fun to do the challenge with a bit

of an emotional twist.

While the whole family was very excited and emotional to have the soldier at home, no

one was happier than the four-year-old Golden Retriever, Zephyr.

The video showing the four-legged friend completely beside himself when he comes face-to-face

with his owner is enough to leave anyone sobbing.

"Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams"

Randy Pausch was an American professor of computer science, human–computer interaction,

and design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In September 2006, Pausch learned that he had pancreatic cancer, and in August 2007,

he was given a terminal diagnosis: "3 to 6 months of good health left".

Besides his stellar career, Professor Pausch is remembered for his upbeat lecture titled

"The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams".

The lecture quickly became a popular YouTube video and has so far been watched over 19

million times!

Pausch delivered his "Last Lecture", titled "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams",

at CMU on September 18, 2007.

The talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked

to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical "final talk",

with a topic such as "what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it

was your last chance?"

Before speaking, Pausch received a long standing ovation from a large crowd of over 400 colleagues

and students.

When he motioned them to sit down, saying, "Make me earn it", someone in the audience

shouted back, "You did!"

Before beginning the lecture, Pausch explained his story of having pancreatic cancer and

only having 3 to 6 months to live, but still made a joke of it by saying that he was still

in the best shape of his life, proceeding to do a series of push-ups on stage while

still speaking.

To give you a taste of this incredibly emotional lecture, here's just one Professor Pausch's

quote to inspire you: "The brick walls are there for a reason.

The brick walls are not there to keep us out.

The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something.

Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough.

They're there to stop the other people."

"Inside a Dog Retirement Home" This tear-jerker of a video by National Geographic

let's you take a peek inside a pet's retirement home.

The House With A Heart Senior Pet Sanctuary houses nearly two dozen dogs in Gaithersburg,

Maryland.

The residents of this sanctuary are dogs and cats who have lost their families and because

of their advanced age and various medical conditions, they have little chance of being

adopted.

But thanks to Sher Polvinale and a team of volunteers, these senior dogs are spending

quite a comfortable life as they spend their golden years in the retirement home.

Sher and her team spare no expense as they cater to the dogs' every need.

Although the medical needs of some of the dogs are expensive, costs are covered by short

term care plans and donations from supporters.

Even for dogs with walking impairments, House With a Heart makes sure they have the room

and equipment to play and exercise.

Because of her devotion to the care and attention to the dogs, Sher hardly ever leaves her house.

To her, the ultimate fulfillment is being able to spend every moment with the dogs and

tend to their needs.

The resident dogs come from all walks of life—many of them come from shelters or from owners

who have retired to nursing homes or passed away.

They may have lost their previous families, but they find a new one at House With a Heart

with whom they can live out their last few years with.

"Fred Rodgers Acceptance Speech - 1997" If you haven't seen it, Fred Rogers' acceptance

speech for a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 1997 Emmys is a fascinating watch and

one of the most touching videos you can find on the Internet.

After being introduced as "the best neighbor any of us has ever had," by actor Tim Robbins,

Mr. Rogers takes the stage amidst loud applause.

In a crowd of snobbish celebs wearing expensive designer clothes, humble, gray Presbyterian

minister sticks out - not just by virtue of his age, but also by his shy demeanor.

There's nothing fake about Mr. Rodgers.

What happens next is one of the most memorable award show moments.

Mr. Rogers steps up to the microphone, and issues an order.

"Would you just take, along with me, 10 seconds to think of the people who have helped

you become who you are?

Those who have cared about you and wanted what was best for you in life.

I'll watch the time."

At first the audience chuckles a little – is this a joke?

But as Mr. Rodgers looks down at his watch, you can see that he's dead serious, and

the entire room falls silent.

And then, as the camera pans the hall, you see that Mr. Rodgers is once again working

that old magic of his.

People are biting their lips and wiping the corners of their eyes.

Makeup is running and you can hear faint sighs.

It took this gentle host of a children's program just 10 seconds to strip a television

award show of its pretentiousness and injecting a moment of real emotion into it.

If this doesn't make you cry, then nothing will!

"Sports Illustrated Kids 2012 SportsKids of the Year: Conner and Cayden Long"

What if someone you loved couldn't play sports?

He or she couldn't feel what it's like to catch a ball, see a shot hit the back of

soccer net, or cross a finish line.

In 2012, Conner Long was nine years old.

His little brother Cayden was seven.

But Cayden couldn't do a lot of things his big brother could.

At four months old, Cayden was diagnosed with a condition called hypertonic cerebral palsy,

which left him unable to walk or talk on his own.

Playing sports is a great way for brothers to bond, but it seemed to be out of the question

for the Longs - until Conner had a brilliant idea.

In 2010, Conner and Cayden started participating in triathlons together.

Conner would swim while pulling Cayden in a raft, bike with his little brother, tow

behind him in a trailer, and push the trailer when they ran.

This inspiring pair of brothers from White House, Tennessee, traveled up and down the

East coast to compete in races.

Their amazing determination and spirit is why the Long brothers were chosen as the 2012

Sports Illustrated Kids SportsKids of the Year and the accompanying video on the Sports

Illustrated Kids YouTube channel will not only make you bawl your eyes out but will

also inspire you to take on any challenges you may be facing!

"Carl Sagan - Pale Blue Dot" Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot is one of those

videos that can thaw the coldest of hearts.

Carl Sagan was an American astronomer, astrophysicist, author, and science popularizer whose PBS

television series Cosmos inspired generations across the world.

Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of planet Earth taken on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager

1 space probe from a record distance of about 6 billion kilometers.

In the photograph, Earth's apparent size is less than a pixel and our planet appears as

a tiny dot against the vastness of space, among bands of sunlight reflected by the camera.

Voyager 1, which had completed its primary mission, was leaving the Solar System, when

it was commanded by NASA to turn its camera around and take one last photograph of Earth

across a great expanse of space - at the request of none other than Carl Sagan.

During a public lecture at Cornell University in 1994, Carl Sagan presented the image to

the audience and shared his reflections on the deeper meaning behind the idea of the

Pale Blue Dot.

His speech was subsequently turned into this touching video.

In the video you can see the famous photograph of our planet while Sagan narrates, "Our

planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark.

In our obscurity – in all this vastness – there is no hint that help will come from

elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

It is up to us.

It's been said that astronomy is a humbling, and I might add, a character-building experience.

To my mind, there is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant

image of our tiny world.

To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly and compassionately with

one another and to preserve and cherish that pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

Article 13 will doom our Internet. - Duration: 5:51.

DO NOT CLICK OFF THIS VIDEO.

THIS CONCERNS YOUR RIGHTS AS A CREATOR, AS A VIEWER,

AND AS A MEMBER OF THE FREE AND OPEN INTERNET.

THIS IS URGENT.

So there's this thing called Article 13.

You may have heard of it in the news lately or on

your Twitter feed with the hashtag #SaveTheInternet,

and it is a really pressing issue that we need to talk about RIGHT NOW.

In the most basic terms possible,

Article 13 is the law governing copyright protection in the European Union,

basically saying what we can and can't use copyright-protected stuff for.

In the United States, such a thing would be similar to the Fair Use doctrine

that's in the description of every YouTube video ever.

Under Fair Use, copyrighted media can be used for

parody, commentary, news reporting, educational use and so on and so forth.

In the EU, the guidelines for this are pretty strict;

you can generally only use copyright-protected media

if you have EXPRESSED AND LEGAL PERMISSION to do so

-- hence the term "PERMITTED USE" being part of the law.

When it comes to websites like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, all of them

-- they aren't responsible for the content posted on their sites

due to their nature of being USER-DRIVEN,

and as such only step in whenever a copyright owner needs to prevent illegal usage of their

work

and a site like YouTube has to take it down on their behalf.

In the US, this is part of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act -- the DMCA, for short.

Copyright laws in the United States help users use

and re-use content to make infinite iterations and deviations of it,

leading to wonderful things like:

♪ Makin' my way downtown ♪

♪ Walkin' fast, faces pass ♪

♪ and I'm homebound ♪

... and this!

Wait a second...

Let's just... open the sack first and see what's actually in it.

Alright.

I'm HowToBasic.

[fighting and grunting noises]

It's how my content, and even projects that I've worked on like Real-Time Fandub, even

took off;

I couldn't imagine my work without the freedom of content transformation!

Which is why you need to hear this.

The European Union is making its copyright law much much stricter,

and it will affect EVERYONE.

Remember when I said websites aren't liable for their users using copyrighted footage?

Well...

Europe decided that it's WAY too much

and is now going to hold them accountable for everything being posted,

and I mean EVERYTHING.

YouTube may have to prevent users from uploading things before they're processed,

Instagram will issue takedowns more often,

Twitter could suspend your entire account for

posting a single clip from a TV show or even a meme.

And that's all because copyright owners are considering themselves

threatened by the use of their work online --

HOWEVER...

Europe is casting the net WAY TOO WIDE and the writing on the law is INCREDIBLY VAGUE,

making the way for jerks like the non-human beings at Sony Music

or Universal Music Group to take down anything they see

with even a resemblance to their properties

(looking at you, Macklemore and Twenty One Pilots).

SO THE TEA IS THIS.

This bats**t copyright initiative will prevent transformative use of copyrighted material,

upon which MANY PEOPLE RELY THEIR LIVELIHOODS ON.

All of your favorite YouTubers; MILLIONS OF PEOPLE,

both creators and viewers will be screwed over by this initiative.

Even the dreadful empty soul that is the CEO of YouTube,

Susan Wojcicki herself declared that, and I quote,

"While we support the goals of article 13,

the European Parliament s current proposal will create unintended consequences

that will have a profound impact on the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people.

[...] EU residents are at risk of being cut off from videos that [...]

come from around the world,

including more than 35 million EU channels,

and they include language classes and science tutorials as well as music videos."

End-quote.

And not to mention the numerous channels that you could be watching

whose owners are European --

and yes, I mean the ones based in the UK as well,

you're included in this crap too!

You won't be able to see the vast majority of their videos!

Can't play PewDiePie's videos now, can you?

At the scale of YouTube, under Article 13,

all your parodies,

all your mashups,

all those harmless videos that use copyright-protected material,

all those music videos,

and most importantly...

all those

D A N K M E M E S

They will all be put under YouTube's liability,

and for a site that has 400 hours of video uploaded to it every minute...

that's an incredibly unrealistic goal.

So what do we do now?

Well, the worst thing is the fact that the law has already passed and is currently being

drafted,

and if nothing is done to stop it,

then Article 13 will be permanently altered BY THE END OF THE YEAR.

But here is the GOOD NEWS:

WE CAN STILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

First thing is to let other people know about this directive and the damage it could cause;

we need as much noise as possible

so we can open the conversation and get people talking about it!

Second, share this video so that it gets people's attention.

Despite popular belief, the general public isn't talking as much about this as it should,

so SHARE IT AND OTHER VIDEOS, AND SPREAD THE WORD.

And the third thing is for my fellow Europeans:

talk to your Members of Parliament;

ask whether or not they're supporting this change and if they are,

convince them through the art of diplomacy about why they shouldn't!

If the US thought Net Neutrality was bad,

oh boy, you've seen nothing yet.

Retirement Myth: Your Expenses Will Go Down - Duration: 3:46.

Alison Southwick: Let's move on to the second myth. Your expenses will go down in retirement.

Maurie Backman: Right. So a lot of people think,

"OK, I'm going to retire and instead of spending what I'm spending

today, my expenses are going to get cut in half."

And in fact I have a relative who's close to retirement who said this to me recently.

He said, "Yeah, I think I'll probably spend about half as much in retirement as I am now."

And I said, "Why?" He said, "I won't be commuting. I won't be paying for dry cleaning."

I said, "Well, what are you paying now to commute to work and to dry clean your suits?

A couple of hundred bucks a month?" He was like, "Yeah."

I said, "Does that represent 50% of your spending?" And he's like, "Oh, no."

The thing about retirement is that, yes, you'll kill a couple of costs.

You'll kill your commuting costs and maybe some other incidentals that we all incur by

having an office job to go to. I wouldn't know something about that.

You guys who actually report to an office every day probably know a little more than I do.

But generally speaking, I like to tell people that you'll probably need about 70-80% of

your former paycheck to cover your expenses in retirement because most of them are

probably going to stay the same.

You might even have some that go up, like healthcare or entertainment because when you

think about it, you're not working. You don't have a job to go to.

You're not going to sit in your house all day. So that's the rule that I like to follow.

The only thing that's really going to go away -- the only major expense -- is your retirement

plan contribution because obviously you're not saving for retirement when you're in retirement.

But when you think about the things that you're spending money on right now, there's really

no reason to think that they're going to drastically drop just because you're a little bit older

and not reporting into an office.

Southwick: Unless you're going to make major life decisions like downsizing or

moving someplace cheaper.

Backman: And I've heard people say, "Well, what about your mortgage because you might

pay it off in time for retirement?"

And my answer to that is you might, but keep in mind that if you're hanging on to an older

home, as that home ages, your maintenance and repair costs are going to go up.

They might go up enough to offset that mortgage payment, especially if it was on the lower side.

And property taxes also have a tendency to go up over time. There's that to consider, too.

So don't expect to pay like 50% of what you're paying now to live just because you're old.

Southwick: How often do you have the random relative or uncle or friend coming up to you

and offering their thoughts on their own retirement and then you have to be like, "Well, actually..."

Does it happen a lot? Backman: Pretty often.

And I feel bad because basically my family members call me the "dream dasher."

I'm that person who dashes dreams, but I'd rather give someone a reality check than have

to help them pay for their nursing home. Southwick: That's true.

Robert Brokamp: The Wall Street Journal recently published the results of a study from Dan Ariely

and Aline Holzwarth who work at the Center for Advanced Hindsight at Duke University.

Southwick: Advanced hindsight. Brokamp: I'm going to summarize it very basically.

They asked people how much of your pre-retirement income are you going to need in retirement

and most people thought 70-80%.

And then when they asked another group to actually break it out into specific categories,

some groups had as much 130% because, as one quote in the article said, working is a very cheap activity.

And once you stop working you start doing all these things that you've always wanted

to do and it turned out you spend much more, at least in the first five to 10 years of retirement.

So the bottom line is you have to figure out what your situation is and what you're really

planning to do in retirement before you just rely on a rule of thumb.

Mars Insight: Will the spacecraft survive what NASA scientists call "its seven minutes of terror"? - Duration: 1:34.

Robot called Insight will land on Mars later this Monday,

ahead of a two-year mission on the Red Planet using seismic monitoring and underground drilling,

Insight aims to find out more about what lies deep below the Martian surface

and therefore understanding how our solar system was formed.

"When we look at the crust of Mars, that's a snapshot into the past of what the crust of the earth

might have looked like four and a half billion years ago before it got all busy."

But before it uncovers the secrets of our solar system,

NASA will have to face what is perhaps the most challenging part of the mission: the landing itself.

In order to touch down safely, Insight will have to slow down from 20,000 kilometers per hour

to eight kilometers per hour in just six and a half minutes and it will all be done automatically.

"I am completely excited and completely nervous all at the same time

because everything that we've done today makes us feel comfortable and confident we're gonna land on Mars .

But there's, everything has to go perfectly and Mars could always throw us a curveball

that, to use the baseball analogy that, you know, may decrease our batting average."

Among other things, the robot will aim to detect seismic activity, the size of Mars' core and whether the core is liquid or solid.

The tectonics on Planet Earth have mostly erased the traces of our early history.

Mars, however, has remained largely static, making it a perfect source of information

when it comes to tracing back the origins of our solar system.
