Figurative or Literal Sword in Christianity and Islam? - Duration: 4:28.

- Let's go right to the phone lines.

First up is Finmon.

Is it Finmon?

In Los Angeles, California, KKLA.

Hi Finmon.

- Hi Hank, how are you brother?

I really appreciate you as a brother in Christ and I really appreciate your show.

- Thank you.

- Thank you so much.

- Thank you.

- Yeah, my question is - you know, I was talking with one guy one time and he told me "I don't

accept Christianity because Jesus contradicts himself," and he told me-- he said that he

came not to give peace but through the sword, and I told him, "Well that means he's not

talking literally, that means that we have to-- if we are to follow Jesus Christ, we

have to love him with all our hearts over our parents.

It doesn't mean a literal sword."

And he told me, "Well, what about--" and then we start talking about Islam and he told me,

"What if Islam means that?

What if they mean not literal killing the infadels?"

So what do you think about it?

And I'm not in any way justifying Islam or not trying to do that, but I just want to

give an answer.

- Well I think your answer was brilliant.

I mean, this is not literal; it symbolizes as a sword conflict.

And so someone says, "Well then don't take Islam literally when you have the Sura of

the Sword."

But the reality is that one should be taken literally, the other quite obviously should

not be taken literally.

And I say that because if you look at the history of Islam, you have 14 centuries of

advancement by sword.

If you look at the model of Christ you have almost 2,000 years of advancement by word.

So do you ever see Jesus Christ doing what Muhammed did?

Do you see Jesus in Jerusalem slaying people?

Do you see him killing the Jews that would not listen to him?

Well, if you go to Muhammed you can go to the medina marketplace and see Muhammed beheading

somewhere between 600 and 900 Jews.

So one is quite literally using the sword, the other is using in this case the sword

as a metaphor, exactly as you have said.

And the metaphor's quite plain, and you also alluded to this in the prologue to your question.

The sword divides.

And ultimately, truth divides even more.

And so we follow the one who is the way and the truth, and when we do, there's a division

between mother and father and sister and brother.

But in the end, Jesus was very plainly living by a dictum, and that dictum was shown in

the Garden of Gethsemane.

There, the soldiers come to arrest him.

And one of the disciples - Peter - takes out a sword and whacks off the ear of a soldier.

So Jesus did not suddenly say the rallying cry, "let's kill them, pull out your swords!"

No, Jesus healed the fallen soldier or the soldier missing the ear.

And then he said to Peter, "Put away your sword.

All who live by the sword inevitably die by the sword."

So again the distance between Muhammed and Jesus in this regard is the distance of infinity.

Dragon Question - 2, two, to or too - Duration: 4:31.

Hi... Okay, today we're going to talk about the infamous

"TO" problem. A lot of people worry because there's so many different forms

of "to". There's the number two (2) and there's the number "two" spelled out.

and there's to... "t" "o"... and then there's too, like "This is way too many twos!" So how

does Dragon keep all that straight? It's pretty interesting because Dragon's

pretty smart. But we're just going to play with it today and see what happens.

So I'm going to switch over and share my screen and we'll do some playing with

Dragon.

...that's if I can figure out how to share my screen...

Awesome... So I started as a Word document and

let's see what happens with Dragon. We've got our Dragon menu and we're

running Dragon Professional Individual, Version 15.

I'm going to say "Wake Up",

"New Paragraph", Today 2018-02-27, we are going to

talk about the infamous

"TO" problem... "New Paragraph" First we have the numeral 2

and then we have the word, "two" spelled out...

dot-dot-dot "Select "to""

"6" ... "Choose 1"

"go to the end of the line", "new paragraph"

So as you saw, we are going to

talk about 2 ...way too much

"Exclamation Mark" !

"Go left 2 words", "select previous word", "underline that"

"Go left 2 words"

"select previous word", "underline that", "go left 4 words"

"select next word" "underline that"

"Select Two" "6"

"Underline That"

"Unselect That" "Go to End of Document" "Select All"

'"Make that 24 points" "Unselect That"

"Go to Sleep" ...So there you have an example of

using the words. It is always not always quick and easy, when you're out of

context. Like we are here, trying to overuse it but Dragon's pretty good about doing the

correct one. I'm going to end this video and let's see if I can share it to

everybody else...

How to Enable Messages in iCloud on iPhone or iPad - Duration: 1:56.

What's up, guys?

I'm Dhvanesh back with another episode of iGeeksBlog.

With the release of iOS 11.4, Messages in iCloud is finally available.

But what it is?

Messages in iCloud means:

It stores all your messages including iMessages and SMS from all your devices to iCloud for

better syncing between your devices.

If you delete unnecessary conversations from your iPhone, it would reflect on all your

devices including Mac.

Most interesting thing is you can save storage space on your device as it stores all your

messages attachments in iCloud.

And your messages are protected with end-to-end encryption.

I mean they remain secure in the cloud.

So let's get in to the video to know how to enable Messages in iCloud.

Let's launch Settings App

Tap on your profile

Select iCloud

Toggle on Messages

It will ask to turn on Two-Factor Authentication, if you have not opt for it already.

Tap on Continue

Enter your Apple ID password

Tap on continue

Again tap on continue

Now select Allow

Verify displayed code from your another device.

Once the code is verified, tap on OK.

Atletico Madrid 'expect' star goalkeeper Jan Oblak to move to Liverpool or Arsenal - Duration: 2:24.

Atletico Madrid 'expect' star goalkeeper Jan Oblak to move to Liverpool or Arsenal

The Europa League winners are convinced that either Liverpool or Arsenal will come calling with an offer that they cannot refuse.

Oblak is one of the most highly-rated goalkeepers in Europe and has an astonishing clean-sheet record for Atleti.

The Slovenian stopper made 29 shutouts in 49 games last season, conceding just 28 goals along the way.

Liverpool are in the market for a world-class goalkeeper after Loris Karius catastrophic showing in the Champions League final.

Real Madrid scored twice as a direct result of the Germans blunders and boss Jurgen Klopp has reached the end of his patience with him.

Oblak has a release clause of around £88m, and according to to El Gol Digital, the Reds are top of the list of teams ready to pounce.

But they may find themselves competing with fellow Premier League outfit Arsenal.

The Gunners currently have ageing Petr Cech and an underwhelming David Ospina at their disposal between the posts.

New boss Unai Emery is eyeing an upgrade and Oblak certainly fits the bill in that regard.

Atletico are so convinced that their star gloveman is set to leave, that the report claims they have already identified his replacement.

Kepa Arrizabalaga of Athletic Bilbao, valued at £70m, is their intended target to replace their current stopper at the Wanda Metropolitano.

LeAnn Rimes & Brandi Glanville Feud is Over... Or Is It? Who Is This Troll? - Duration: 5:10.

So we all know how the story went...

Actor marries former model.

Country music star

marries backup dancer.

Actor and country music star film Lifetime movie together...

Rumors start flying, everyone gets divorced and the country music star

and actor live happily ever after.

Or if you didn't already know the story

singer LeAnn Rimes met actor Eddie Cibrian on the set of the Lifetime movie

Northern Lights. Rimes went on to divorce her backup dancer husband Dean Sheremet

and Cibrian's split from wife Brandi Glanville

created one of the most cheeky

Real Housewives ever.

Cibrian and Rimes then married in 2011.

Following her separation from Cibrian, Brandi Glanville told US Weekly

In the same year, Cibrian alleged that Brandi had slashed the tires on his

motorcycle which, she assured us, she most certainly had done.

Glanville told E! News

If you forgot the Underwood line, it goes: "Carve my name into

his leather seats.

I took a Louisville slugger to both

headlights, slashed a hole in all four tires. Maybe next time he'll think twice

before he cheats.

According to Glanville, Cibrian was

already a major cheat. In the 2013 book "Drinking & Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders",

Glanville wrote

And the shade continued. Glanville explained to E! News she believes Cibrian and Rimes

wouldn't be together all that much longer saying, "In the state of California,

after ten years, you're entitled to half of everything that the other person has

and that's it. I really believe he's putting in his 10 years.

In a battle of Celebrity All-Star segment, Jay Leno once asked Glanville:

"Who is a little tramp?" to which she replied, "LeAnn Rimes."

The shade continued.

On March 19th, this year Brandi tweeted:

But then on April 17, she tweeted that the two had finally come to an end.

Well the feud isn't over for someone and someone on the Twittersphere is out to get LeAnn...

everyday.

As of today, this is Brandi's most recent Instagram.

Getting Over It while Trying Not to Rage or Stress - Duration: 14:33.

G'day and welcome to getting over it with Bennett foddy I'm going to give

myself precisely half an hour to see how far I can actually go start 30 minutes

and Counting I am wasting valuable seconds of my time what's the sound okay

that's the sound right okay let's go getting over it with Bennett fadi need

more sensitivity that's good okay turn the volume up okay this way not too

badly I'll tell you oh okay this way now leave yes oh come on okay

get it right on it in there and then oh yes this is not bad I'm doing

exceptionally compared to what other people have done hang on wait a minute

what voiceover volume if you deleted your homework the day before it was do

as I have really now apparently this game is a homage to it okay shut up

Bennett 40 that's enough I okay about you anymore there we go now apparently

this game is the most rage inducing and stressful game on the planet okay this

is this musics supposed to make me feel better I mean I used to think golf was

the most relaxing way to stress out but turns out no this is all that was nice

sound effects I am the best sound effect maker on the planet there is no person

that can beat me now this bit is an absolute pain it is the bit that is the

most of the pain that you will experience what am I saying

I do not know this person is probably Bennett Fadi himself

stuck in a pot and then that was surprisingly easy okay out of all of the

tools on the planet we have a hammer I don't think benefit I knew this but

when mountain climbers go mountain climbing they don't take a hammer they

might but I think they would take it like an ice pick or something depending

on where they're climbing because I don't think any person who's ever

climbed Mount Everest has said you know what let's climb up with a hammer just

for the challenge no because you'll die and if you die

and that's it there's no respawning that we know of in the real world at least

this game gives me a bit of choice to just reflect on my decisions yeah that's

pretty handy oh now I don't want to go too far over here because I'll end up

back at the beginning where we started leave the rusty fridge first try nice

across the top of barbecue this way yes

Obama oh crap mmm sorry about the noises I used to live in

a farm they might resemble a sheep what his sounds are that I'm making

that was a deflating tire from a tractor

mmm that was partly a cow and a chainsaw combined to make a cow sore that sounds

a bit messy in Ireland entangled and problematic I have no idea what I'm

talking about I'm just trying to pass the time and here we go I'm on top of

the slippery dip that was a impersonation of Rambo okay how far can

I go in half an hour I don't know and to be honest hmm

that was an NPC villager from Minecraft apparently that's what I've been told it

sounds like we communicate via grunting in pot land sorry I think this is the

furthest I have ever been yes it has got to be the furthest I've ever been and

now this bit which I have never done before I'm gonna attempt yes I may be

moving the mouse too fast and does that matter

not one bit because my objective of this game is never to finish the end but

rather to make a funny video that people apparently watch which is gonna be weird

so I don't know what this video is gonna do or if I'm actually gonna progress at

all or if I'm going to end up at the finish again at the start again I mean

anyway let's just progress I think some meditation on on the

viewers end would be nice I don't need to meditate because I'm quite relaxed

right now as you can tell by the tone of my voice that pot man here is causing

problems anyway I don't know what sounds these are his name is also Benny Fadi a

blini Fahd it if you haven't seen that video I may leave a link to it a mate of

mine did that video his videos are not bad they are improving go and help him

out link in the description probably if I remember back here the arch-nemesis of

the hallway with lice I am surprised how easy it is when I'm recording I am also

surprised at how little I've progressed in the last 10 minutes right okay fridge

person fridge people which are people from the Antarctic now they're not

anyone live there is anyone live in the Arctic the Antarctic no one lives there

except for penguins and penguins cannot climb mountains and to be honest

penguins don't have to climb mountains because penguins are smart just like

keep your don't play cricket okay pop man thanks okey let's try this again

shall we attempt five million seven hundred and thirty seven thousand five

hundred and sixteen point seven and supply some science to it speed I'm

obviously not taking us seriously otherwise I would be going slower like

this

no idea what that noise was the noise from a meat blender probably know what

Bona be like mr. Beeney to me this is exactly like golf except with a

different objective this guy had too many prunes prunes are bad for you they

cause you to mmm just like any nutritional biomatter to be honest

organic foods are carbon-based like everything okay

what else can I talk about to fill the time until I just happen to fluke this

but I don't think I'm getting past it nice first try

you're making me feel bad not this game but the song cuz this song is just like

it's not it's not good enough I do not listen to

yodelling this yodeling is extremely off-putting just like having to have an

objective this game I need to go up there my mouse has gone off the mousepad

okay I really not sure how I did that but I'm okay with it you were okay with

it hmm okay adjust the mouse position move the

keyboard over so I get more area to move the mouse and

how much time do I have left seven minutes 25 okay

right most likely you're watching this on YouTube no I'm not I am making it for

YouTube I have no idea where I am there's a toilet a bog this looks like a

safe spot to stop but no I still have five minutes to go

people often don't get this but to be honest it's not difficult if you have a

good mouse oh nice this is the best best possible

place to stop but I have five minutes to go I'm gonna do I have to jump across

that do I literally have to jump across that I didn't have to jump across oh oh

I can see a massive massive problem here okay okay okay okay

two minutes 50 left okay I'm gonna try this extremely cautiously Oh No

well I am back at this place now I can continue with the two minutes that I

have left in the half an hour or I can sit here and just contemplate why I

bothered to make this video now I know that the best option in that

circumstance would be the second one but there is progress to be made progress

but here and mentally in terms of progress with mental stability and the

inability to stress I am now at an even worse position that I was of me a few

seconds ago as you can tell I am now narrating this because Bennett fuzzy is

not doing a good job at narrating it so yes back at the top of the sternum okay

okay how much time do I have left 46 45 seconds so in 45 seconds in in

half an hour I went from the beginning to a little bit beyond the beginning and

I think that is where I should leave it yes well up and down and uh and Danny

must exercise those biceps because if he doesn't exercise them he'll never get up

this mountain doing his stretches I mean look at those stretches and that's the

end of half an hour well that was getting over it with

Bennett fadi I'm probably not gonna play this game again seeing that we won't go

anywhere again like we kind of did this episode we went somewhere and then we

went nowhere anyway yes if you liked the video why not check out the other

content on the channel you might enjoy that as well and stay tuned for more

videos every weekday and I'll catch you in the next one

without pot man see you then

Azure Custom Vision: How to Train and Identify Unique Designs or Image Content - Duration: 26:11.

>> Learn how to infuse AI into your Java application.

In this episode of The AI Show,

we'll learn all about computer and

Custom Vision Cognitive Services API.

Welcome to this episode of

The AI Show where my colleague Ruth Yakubu is

going to show us how to infuse

AI into a Java application.

My name is Seth Juarez.

All right. So, Ruth, how do we get started?

>> So, to get started,

let me just give a little background

of what we developers face.

>> Okay.

>> There are two types of developers,

the one that is sitting in their cube,

and the business has

business requirements that we can and leverage AI.

But they're like, last I check,

I'm not a data scientist.

How can I do this?

Then, that's when you realize that Microsoft has a lot of

Cognitive Services that span across different industries,

that our developers can

leverage and hit the market real quick.

>> Awesome. So, if I have an application and I'm like,

hey, I want to put some AI, but I don't know what to do.

You're saying Cognitive Services is an answer to that.

>> Yeah. Because our researchers have

done years and years of research,

and tons and tons of data curation,

analytics, machine learning, and what not,

and provide all of that.

>> So, how do I burn it into my application?

>> Okay. So, for this application, I'm using Java,

and one thing that is super

exciting for us in the Java community is,

we now have Maven,

STKs for Cognitive Services.

So, you can do all of that with the rest applications,

but you have STKs now.

So, for the application I want to show you guys today is,

I'm going to create a lost and found type of

situation where we're using Computer Vision,

also tie into text analytics,

and I'm only tying into text and analytics to, okay,

you load something, how can we query something

and find a result based upon

the tags that were generated from a image?

>> Awesome. Let's dive in.

>> Okay. So, to start off with, I'm in Eclipse.

So, this is a Spring Boot application.

We don't need to go into details unless you

want us to go into specific details later.

So, what I'm going to do is, launch the application.

So, what I did was right click.

It's a little bit too late now.

But basically, what it's doing is,

building the application and the end

is going to launch the Tomcat server.

>> Awesome. So, this is like

a regular Spring application.

It's a website, MVC style type thing.

>> Exactly.

>> Cool.

>> Yeah. So, now that we see that

the application is up on port 8080,

let's launch the application.

So, now, I'm going to open

a picture that we're going to analyze.

So, what I'm doing here is,

I'm calling the Computer Vision API,

and the method I called was analyzed.

So, first, let's take a look at the image. There's a car.

There's a parking lot type of situation.

There's a background going on.

So, the good thing about the Computer Vision is,

when we call it,

it's going to return attributes

about the image that it finds.

So, it's going to generate different tags,

so you see a whole slew of these.

Car, road, grass, driving,

parking, and all of that.

So, just take in a eyeball of it.

All of those are accurate compared

to the image that we just uploaded.

>> Awesome. And this isn't data that you upload.

This is something to be clear that

the service returns to you based on the picture.

>> Yeah.

>> Okay, cool.

>> Yeah. You just upload a image,

call the API with the image,

tell it that please analyze this image.

Then, all I'm doing is returning the JSON,

not even do anything.

Just to show the users what the Computer Vision does.

>> Awesome.

>> So, let's get back to

the main point that I wanted to show,

the power of this and different ways you can use this.

So, think of a lost and found type of scenario, right?

You can never anticipate what users are going to lose.

So, I'm guilty of that.

I lose a lot of stuff.

So, let's do a very generic one.

Kids, I think they specialize in losing things.

So, let's say, I'll upload a teddy bear.

It shows the attributes like before.

Let's upload this Mercedes-Benz.

It's also a key,

and see what it returns back.

So, for the Mercedes-Benz,

this was kind of interesting.

The tags that it was returning back is,

it's a table, sitting, black, piece, top,

luggage, desktop, players, suitcase,

collar, phone, [inaudible] actually mouse.

So, for the human eye, personally,

we're used to how keys looked liked,

especially in the medieval times.

There's certain way a key looks like.

But nowadays, what do we do in outliers where

keys are no longer

the traditional way of how you see a key?

Let's say, I'm fresh off a boat from somewhere.

I have never seen a Mercedes-Benz key.

>> I know I haven't.

>> Yeah.

I haven't seen one either.

But yeah, this one,

I can easily think it's a garage door opening.

>> Right.

>> Because it can pass for a lot of stuff.

So, let's go back to the analytics part.

This is another piece that I

wanted to highlight to developers.

Let's say, you have a whole bunch of text, right?

You're dealing with the lost and found,

what are users going to do when

they come in to tell you what they lost?

They tend to ramble on and on,

but you need to get to the gist of it.

The whole point they need to just tell us is,

I lost the teddy bear,

I lost a key.

That's it, but people like me,

I'm going into a form like,

"I was at the food court-",

if I can spell,

"-and I think I

left my toy at the table."

and click "Submit".

So, one thing is

the very first thing you look at

is okay we call that "Text

Analytics" and that one also has

multiple functions like sentiment analysis,

key phrase extraction.

So, in real life,

this person would have written like

a three paragraph type of description of what happened,

different possible areas that

they think they've lost something,

but the key thing is look at

the things that it extracted,

it got that there was a food court,

there was a toy, there was a table.

So, what it's going to do is look in the database,

because in the last page what I was

doing is all the image for a lost

and found let's say each time

somebody loses something you take a photo of it,

store in the database.

Later on when somebody comes,

we no longer need to go and

manually go aisle after aisle searching

for stuff you can also use

AI to find some of these stuff.

Just do as when somebody submits that,

let it do a query and see what matches they've found.

So, the keyword was toy,

it brought back to teddy bear,

I uploaded the traditional key,

it didn't find that,

but for some reason I

think it's probably thinking the car keys.

>> If it's a toy or it could be somebody's toy as well.

Right? The thing I like about this is that you

actually allowed users to

upload pictures and ask about

those things without having any user intervention at all.

>> Yes.

>> Using this kind of service, I have two questions.

The first question is, what does this look like in code?

>> Yeah.

>> The second one is,

I saw there were some mistakes

when the pictures were uploaded,

is there a way to fix that?

So let's start with the first, let's take a look at it.

>> Yes, awesome.

So, to start with,

this is the Spring Application, right?

So, when you're talking to a web-type of interface,

in spring you have something called controller.

So, those are risk controllers.

It takes requests from the web

translate it into your business application.

So, I'm depending on some help or

class or services that will actually do the API requests,

so I'm calling them in.

>> Is the package you import from Computer Vision?

>> Say that again?

>> Is this a package that you import

from the Computer Vision services?

>> In the service class.

So, we'll open that real quick.

So, let me do a quick drive by,

this is a typical REST Application.

Right? So you specify annotation that,

"Okay, I need the request mapping, what's the method?

In REST, you're going to do a Git,

you need to specify the path.

So, for the scenario

of when we're doing dealing with the text analysis,

that's what I was doing.

Here, I'm returning a form but you can

return whatever you want to.

I'm using Thymeleaf

>> I see.

Because I'm not too Web-centric but I'm just specifying

the HTML file name it should call.

So that's just the display part of it.

So, when somebody pulls something, enters an information,

now, as you can see,

the user entered a description.

So, you're taking all of that.

And now, you took the description and fed it into

a service that did some analysis,

that's the API that we called,

return JSON body and you parse

the data the way you wanted to present.

All I'm doing is parsing and present it to the user,

they're also grabbing the URL,

so we're good on that.

>> So the service,

the text service, is

it like a package you just download

in order to make the API calls?

>> Yes.

>> Okay.

>> So, let me show you this service

because even when we go to the controller,

it looks exactly the same,

the only thing is before I return the JSON,

I'm saving it to a database.

>> Got it.

>> One thing under Spring is Domain.

Well, Domain is like your Database Model.

I get into Repository.

Let's get into which one do you want to look at?

>> Let's look at the Vision Service.

>> Okay. Vision Service.

In order to use a Vision Service,

the very first thing is you need to

provision the service on the Azure portal and

the key thing is in order to call this API or if you're

using the SDK from Maven you need a key.

So, once you establish the key,

you need to specify the key in

your header then what's going to be your body,

you need to pass the parameter in

the body which is going to be the image file,

then the rest is okay.

Going to our API,

definitions that we provide online for each of

our AI Cognitive Service

that okay if you want to call this,

this is how you call it.

Basically, for Java I'm just setting

up all of the parameters that I'm going to be calling.

Finally, once you build all the parameters,

the thing that you do is do a build,

and where I'm actually

executing this Spring provides

something called a rest template,

where you're passing in

that builder and you need to figure

out that the API that you're using is the polls or Git.

Then the final thing- well,

the entity is basically the header.

Then the last thing is, okay,

what's your output going to look like?

Is it json output?

So that's basically what that is.

>> So this is what a rest

endpoint call looks like in Java?

>> Yes.

>> Cool.

>> So let me do a quick drive by.

In this situation, I wanted to use

the SDK to give you guys an idea.

For the SDK, if you're a Java developers,

if you notice, I'm using

a blob storage when I upload this images.

So, the awesome thing

that a lot of people in the Java community are having

misconception is with Microsoft Environments Tools

or Azure is probably.net but

not knowing we have so many for

SDK's that you can go find on the Maven Repository.

So, this is an example of

a Library you can just call and that's the blob storage.

>> Cool, so when you upload the picture

you're just pushing those up to blob storage?

>> Yes.

>> Smart.

>> Before you do anything,

I know, yeah, we're gonna delete,

blur out my credentials,

but in order to do that,

the very first thing you do is provide

your keys and the unique blob and the container,

but if you notice I'm not doing

necessary REST calls because

now you're calling the objects.

This is how simple and cleaner

your application is going to look when you're using SDK.

>> Got it.

>> Okay.

>> Cool. You were telling me that there are some

that just don't work, tell me about those.

>> Yes. So, AI is new and it's up and coming and that's

why there's so much buzz about it and

all these companies are improving

on their algorithms and whatnot.

So, for the scenario that you're in

a situation that you

use something like a Computer Vision API,

and you found some outliers that did

not meet your business case,

what you can do is use something

called Custom Vision API.

>> I see. So in the case where I

upload a picture of something it

may have never seen before

because I have crazy stuff in my house,

there is a way to actually train it

to recognize new things.

>> Yes. So for that one,

the awesome thing is you can go to computer then.

>> Custom Vision.

>> I'm glad somebody is paying attention.

Then say AI.

Then the next thing we need to do is

"Log In" to that account.

Log-in never took so long.

The very first time that you log into the account,

you need to agree to the terms of services.

I already started a project,

but if you didn't,

you click on "Create Project".

Give it a "Name", "Description",

and it's very crucial that if you

know the "Domain" it falls under,

you may want to put it in there because

if you're dealing with a category that's in the "Domain",

it increases your chances of finding things better.

>> Got it.

>> So, due to time, I created keys.

So let's take a step back,

the Custom Image service is a classifier.

It goes on the machine learning classification,

algorithm, and what do classifiers usually

do is either yes or no.

You're trying to find whether this is this or that.

So, I think the amazing thing that

the Microsoft AI Research Team has provided for us is

the ability for a developer to just come in in

a situation where car keys

are getting more and more involved.

It is a key, but it's not the traditional key,

and depending on what industry you are,

it could be other things like a designer handbag, okay?

How can it recognize

the Louis Vuitton bag versus bag versus a Prada bag?

Not that I know anything about that,

but I just wanted to show you how simple this is.

The recommended image is

for you to upload at least 50 images,

but I think for my image,

all I wanted to do was differentiate,

check whether tell me the difference between

a BMW key and a Mercedes key.

So, I just gave it those two categories.

So I uploaded different images for the BMW key

and uploaded a whole bunch of

different images for Mercedes keys.

They're not quite up to 50,

but you'll be surprised with very little.

It's still very accurate and predicting your model.

Once you have your models uploaded,

which is everything is very intuitive,

click on the "Train".

I already did one in the past,

so the last iteration I did was okay.

I uploaded the images.

There are two categories, right?

When you're training your model,

you need to see how precise is,

and the recall is okay,

the error factor of it like

what are the chances that in this group,

there is some that did not

match what you're trying to train?

So pretty straightforward. But looking at this,

I think I'm pretty confident that 90 percent of the time,

it's going to recognize what I'm trying to do.

So, the very important thing for

a developer to do is this part right here.

I need to figure out that,

when you take it back to your application,

are you going to upload it?

Because you can train everything that did visually,

you can do it via code.

Then in our case,

I'm just going to call the API. I trained it.

Everything is good to go.

It shows you the API to use,

so I went ahead and create a custom service.

So, I have the project key,

the RESTless API call.

>> It's just like the same thing that we

had before, but now with a different service.

>> Yes. The only thing is they call it prediction key.

Or other APIs, I think it's

all CP subscription ID key, something like that.

So, be aware of that.

You're uploading an image in the URL type of format.

You're calling the REST API.

Then nothing else really changes.

Let's get back to the controller and call

this custom that's coming out the other one.

So, we're at the end.

Let's see how good this prediction was.

I'm going to restart this Java application.

Okay, perfect.

So, it's done.

The next thing is,

I'm going to go to my trusted Computer Vision,

and now let's find the same key

and upload it and see what it says.

Okay.

>> It looks like it did

indeed find it to be a Mercedes key.

>> Yes.

>> Awesome. So, what I'm understanding then,

so I want to see if I can summarize it, what you did,

you made a lost and found application,

where you can upload pictures of

like someone's like, "Oh, they lost this.

Take a picture," and that's all they do. They upload it.

The Computer Vision service puts all the tags on there.

Someone goes in, types using

text analytics and text analytics has

all the extra stuff out and

maps the things that it found.

>> Yes.

>> Then there's cases where there are

certain things that it won't

understand that you have

to go back and train. Did I get that right?

>> Yes. One thing we have to keep,

we have to take into consideration,

when you're using Custom Vision, there's a limitation.

What if you have petabytes of data?

In those type of situations,

you have to be cognitive,

"Okay, I'm going to train this model.

There's a way we need to export the model,

and if it's too big,

we need somewhere to run and

has a system capacity to run that."

Another story, another alternative to

bypass all of this is going to deep learning.

There are several algorithms out there that you can use,

and if you know what you're doing at this point,

you can code all of that and come up with

maybe a better solution.

I won't say a better solution.

>> More customized.

>> But a deeper. Yes, more customized. Yes.

>> Awesome.

>> Depending on where your industry is.

>> This has been super helpful like

pulling as I like that you show it all in

Java to show that it really doesn't

matter what language you use.

Thanks so much for you today.

We were learning all about

Computer Vision and Custom Vision,

Tutor Nick P Proverbs (34) Like Father Like Son or Like Mother Like Daughter - Duration: 1:37.

Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Proverbs 34. The proverb today is like father, like son

Or we could go both ways with it. You could also say like mother and like

daughter too. In the same exact sense. So let's take a look at the note. This proverb

expresses the idea that not only may a father or son be similar in appearance

and again you can say this about mother and daughter too. But it is more often

used when they are similar in behavior, attitude, or similar in career. All right. So let's

take a look at example number one. Now both of these examples have an a/b part.

today. So A says, that politician was always crooked and his son grew up to

become a politician that was just as his father. And of course B may respond to

that by saying. 'Well, what can you say ? Like father like son. '

Well they are the same thing. Or number two. Here we say that young actress turned out to be just

as talented as her mother. She could act, sing, and dance as, just as well if not

better. And B might say. 'Well, like mother like daughter.' So it could be used for

both a positive or a negative. But basically meaning that they're similar,

especially in behavior, especially in attitude or more likely in behavior. Okay. Anyway,

I hope it's clear. I hope you got it. Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.

Is Cardio or Strength Training Better for Weight Loss? | Ask A Trainer | LA Fitness - Duration: 1:25.

Thanks for joining us on 'Ask A Trainer',

I'm your host, Candice Currie,

joined here today with Master Trainer, Stone Thomas.

How you doin?

Stone, I've got another question for you. Are you ready?

Please.

Alright, so today's question comes to us from Harrison M.,

who shares that he's having issues with fat loss.

Is cardio best or strength training for this?

Cardio or strength training,

so with any workout regimen you're actually going to want to incorporate both of these.

Specifically, you want to do your strength training portion

before you do cardio.

Now the reason for this

is all the nutrition that you've been eating the day of the workout,

and even the day before the workout,

your body's actually going to utilize that nurturance as energy.

Once you've depleted that energy,

all of those nutrients out of your body,

what do you have left to burn?

Body fat?

Body fat.

So that's when you want to start implementing cardio.

Once you're doing cardio after you've depleted your body of the nutrients,

you're going to start targeting those fat cells more efficiently.

That's actually really great to know, I didn't know that.

I always did the opposite,

cardio first and then strength training.

So that's great to know.

So, you should do a little bit of cardio just to warm up.

OK.

10 to 15 minutes.

But if you're specifically going for fat loss and you're utilizing target heart rate

to really kick starts that fat loss, it should be after.

Ok, that's great advice.

Hopefully that helps you Harrison!

Go ahead and send us your questions,

and we'll see you next time.

Pedicure Tutorial: Optical Illusion Wide Problem Toenails That Grow Upwards or Ski Slope Nails - Duration: 38:29.

today's tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a feminine optical

illusion to transform wide toenails that grow upward in addition a pressure point

trick to combat ticklishness and hard to polish toenail tricks plus we're playing

a new game for prizes so stay tuned

yeah okay, I'll take your foot on this side, yep just put it nice and flat, oh and my feet are very ticklish

are you ticklish, okay I have a way of holding the foot so it hits a pressure

point and it helps with that so hopefully I won't tickle you too much while I'm

applying this callus remover to the bottom of the foot let me tell you about

the new game we're playing in addition to the Comment Hall of Fame where I

choose a winner to post on my Instagram and the Random Comment Winner who wins

an item I use in the video I have a new challenge in the winner of the once a

month drawing wins a big prize all you have to do to be entered is post a photo

watching a video of mine tag @themeticulousmanicurist on Facebook or

Instagram let people know my channel name you can even copy the channel link

from your browser into the post and a cool opinion of yours about my channel

I'd rather reward my fans than pay to promote a post of my own this game was

inspired by a fan who did this very thing unsolicited and I was so pleased I

mailed her a gift!

what would you call the shape of my toenails, is there a term to describe that?

it might be ski slope yeah the way that there there's such an exaggerated like

convex shape so to get the optical illusion that it's not growing up you

kind of have to reverse that curvature so I'm gonna have you straighten your leg out a

little bit to create the illusion to reverse that curvature of the free edge

we have to cut the corners of the nails at a 45 degree angle so we're gonna cut

the corners off of them

that one is kind of embedded

is this one hurting? No

looks like it's pulled away a little bit right there in the center, Client: I saw that I didn't know what happened I may have stubbed it

yeah you probably got something stuck underneath there, Client: I usually cut it pretty short

I'm gonna tell you all about my new file when I get to the other foot right now

we're going to concentrate on shaping the free edge in the shape of a smiley face

instead of a frowny face how the toenails were originally and then we're

going to use the file to thin the tip of the nail plate just a little bit to

get rid of the illusion of it flipping up at the edge

someone's coming from Tucson in like two weeks Client: To get a pedicure? That is awesome!

I realized she's a little bit hard to hear so I've turned the volume up really

loud in this video and turn on the captions I've added the captions

I wish they found a place close to home that wasn't just really

Client: Do they have something special going on with their feet?

I didn't talk to her I don't know, Bruce talked to her

Ya know my toes have always been, kind of like

Pedicures I have gotten, whenever I have gotten a professional pedicure they were just ho hum, ya know, no big deal

But I know you know what your doing to make it really be worth it

Yes, I know that feeling you get when you're like you know that really wasn't worth

my money

I think I told you about the time she spent more time cleaning off the polish than she did putting on the polish

yeah, client: Which I appreciated so much, but it took her so long.

Clinet: Did you ever get your supplies to make the mold of your hand?

yes I'm finishing it tonight that's why I still don't have fun nails. I took all

my jewelry off the temperature in my basement, I was going to do it yesterday, but with

all of the rain and the yucky weather I couldn't do it because it says

specifically on the instructions it needs a certain temperature and my

basement was like under the temperature and I was like I am NOT hauling all of

those supplies up to my kitchen

and it was Mother's Day and I'm like I will just do it tomorrow when I get home from work

Client: How long does your hand have to be completely encased, yeah not for very long it's a fast setting product. setting

How was your Mother's Day?

It was really good I just went to my moms, that's nice

Client: I bought her a hanging plant, she really likes this tropical one I got her a few years ago.

I don't know what they do but they live here.

Me: Are they flowering? Client: Yeah, I know that some of them are Hibiscus but I can't remember the one I got I think it was Orange Flower

But they didn't have those this year. So I ended up going to Menard's they have a really good selection of hanging plants.

I got a really cool one that was purple and hot pink.

Oh pretty

you know we've just discovered that store a couple of years ago and I really

like it a lot

yeah

Client: Did your family take you out for Mother's Day?

we went out on Saturday because my oldest had to work yesterday so we went

to a movie we saw the New Avengers movie

Client: Do you go to the theater that is just up the road here?

yeah oh it's really nice

the are selling re fillable buckets of popcorn oh yeah you bring it like we took the buck at

home and the next time

you take it and it's a free you free fifteen dollars

Alright, I am going to sit your foot right on my knee.

Client: I apologize if my foot jumps. This is the ticklish part.

Maybe we'll start down here and let your foot get used to it.

when you have a really ticklish client the key is to keep pressure on a

pressure point that's right below the pad of the foot just slightly to the

left take your on the right foot of the ball

of the foot and succeed to the protruding areas like the heel of the

foot the ball and the pad of the foot try not to run the file right up along

into their arch and then you can go on the outside of the foot too but if you

hit that inside area they're likely to just you know jump right out there seat

I don't know how you do it, if my nails were bare like that they would not survive.

well I actually have a teeny-tiny layer of acrylic on top of them yeah it

doesn't look like it but there is. Client: It looks really natural.

like so, they are so hard, yep

How was that? Not too torturous? Client: No

I think we need a tan don't we? haha

Client: I am basically albino,

Me: So I am I haha

Client: When I am sitting next to my husband it is even more stark he is part Hawaiian.

Client: He has a lot of pigment where as I have none.

Me: A lot of good pigment

We are going to be going there is a few weeks and I know I am going to burn.

Ok, you can bend that knee and put that foot back in the water.

if you're interested in the brush I should have my inventory in about two

weeks so just check back and I should have added it to my online store I

thought it's really easy to clean through this part pops off and it is stainless steel

who's planning on entering the photo tagging contest

I hope lots of you but if you aren't just remember to leave me a comment so

you have a chance to win either the Commet Hall of Fame or the Random Comment

Picker game

Client: Is that a new kind of file Me: Yes, it is. I just got it.

This is the prototype file and I'm sure many of you saw my

post on Instagram or Facebook that the official The Meticulous Manicurist files

have been added to my online store. The file is an eight inch stainless

steel diamond grit file you can use it on your toenails or your fingernails it

is easy to disinfect and won't give you the heebie-jeebies when you use it it's

very smooth and very efficient you can use it to file the dead skin on the ends

of your toes as well and it should last you a lifetime at home as the grit will

last for over a thousand uses you can use them on fingernails too yeah

remember that in addition to cutting the edges of the toenail at a 45 degree

angle to create this optical illusion you do need to file the top of the nail

plate a little bit to remove that slope where it starts to round upwards so

we're going to use the nail file just to file a little bit of the nail plate off

don't file too much because you can thin the nail plate out and then your nail

will bend easily and your polish will buckle and it'll chip off I'm sure

you've noticed also that I'm using my thumb or my index finger to feel the top

of the nail your fingers are always your third eye if you're having trouble

visualizing something if you run your fingertip across a nail plate you'll be

able to feel any imperfections that there are and you'll know exactly where

you need to run your file across again to make it just right

it doesn't take much to create that optical illusion of it being a little

bit flatter on the tip

Client: Do you think you will be able to get pretty close to the cuticle? Me: to polish? Client:yeah

Me: oh yeah

and you can cut or file your toenails with the polish on because the polish

will stay on for a long time like you'll need another pedicure before your polish

we'll start to chip

how long can you go before the length of your toenail starts to bother you?

Client: Well, this was 5 weeks, I only remember that becuase that is how long you told me to wait after I cut my nails last.

But it is mostly just the edges that bother me, Me: which I got rid of so hopefully you can

go like six weeks we will make your next pedicure for six weeks

with it being springtime your nails might grow faster than they did during

the winter

Me: Alright, straighten out your leg.

rest it right on my knee everybody thinks that their leg is heavy but it is not.

Client: Are you sure? Me: I'm sure

it's just really your foot. Remember to always rub the foot with the towel before you

start to use your angel foot file to get all of that callus remover off the

bottom of the foot it dissolves all of that dead skin and when you start to use

the foot file if you don't rub it off with a towel it's just really slippery

and it clogs up your file and you have to keep filing and filing and filing and

filing until it dries up the skin and so it can rub it off so rub the skin first

and then let the file do all of the work I'm not pressing hard into her skin the

grit of this file is so amazing there's a coarse side and a fine side and it all

comes off and it just falls right off

Client: I know I probably shouldn't have but I used one of those callus shavers before. Me: oh yeah, no

yeah those are bad

Client: I need to get one of those for my husband.

Me: Will he use it or will he make you use it on him? I put a link in the upper right-hand

corner of the video where you come by this file and other tools that I've used

and it is trade show season in our industry so in celebration of that the

file is going to be on sale so make your way on over to the store so you can pick

one up today and I do hope if you've learned about the file from my videos

that you will purchase from me and not elsewhere I'm sure you can understand

how disheartening it can be to invest myself in producing these videos and

answering hundreds of questions a day just to have people turn around and buy

elsewhere so I do hope you allow me to reap the benefits through my online

store and purchase from me in exchange for my hard work okay rant over hugs and kisses

thank you

okay you can put that foot back in the water now to learn a few tricks about this

type of toenail for polishing techniques

if you look very closely it's really hard to get underneath that cuticle

because it goes quite deep these cuticles kind of roll up onto the nail

plate so if you can't get your cotton ball way down in there I'm going to show

you a trick to use with a nail art brush to make sure that there aren't any oil

still stuck down inside of that kind of cubby hole that's underneath the cuticle

and then I'm going to show you a trick on how to pull that skin up so you have

room to get your polish brush down underneath the cuticle so you can get

the color all the way back to the back of the nail plate

so one thing that I will share is that if people can't get the cotton

underneath that a lip of the cuticle when there a little bit congested

like that

take a nail art brush with some acetone on it and then slide that right

up underneath the cuticle and that will dehydrate the nail so the polish stays

on really well because that is quite deep under there

one good thing is that you don't need toe separators

so you'll feel me put my finger on the side of your toe and I'll just bend down

a little bit on a few of them just to get a good angle

the polish brush on this base coat is pretty thin so I'm not having too hard

of a trouble sliding the brush underneath that area if we were talking

about when I use the nail art brush to clean from underneath that that skin

that rolls up onto the nail plate but when I get to the Polish it's a very

different shaped brush and I do have a hard time and I don't know if you heard

her talking in the beginning of the video about the last place that she went

to have such a difficult time polishing her toenails that it took them longer

just to clean up the skin around than it did to polish her nails so you'll see me

taking my thumb and pull up on this skin at her cuticle line and that just

creates enough space for me to slide my polish brush right up and into that area

so I can flatten out my brush and polish that nail plate

pretty isn't it

arose by noon broke by Dawn

Rose by dawn broke by noon Rose by dawn broke by noon

I'm gonna use my index finger on my left hand

- to touch press and pull down on the skin to pull that skin away from the

nail plate so I can get some nail polish applicator on the nail plate and get a

nice smooth line down in that nail wall

of course without my nails on I feel like I can't do anything because I used

to use them as tools you know they're like my little assistant sometimes

Client: Lori now I have heard you say they are jewels not tools.

Me: guilty as charged

what do you think so far?

Client: I love them.

I am so blessed to have the support of so many people around the world my goal

Which is Worse For You: Sugar or Fat? - Duration: 13:29.

[♪ INTRO]

We've all heard for decades about how terrible fat is for us, especially saturated fat.

In the 1970s and 80s, everyone was explicitly told to cut down on foods like butter, cheese,

and beef, to avoid heart attacks and strokes.

But now, apparently, they're ok?

Or good for you?

Or… something?

And it's sugar that's bad!

Sugar's what's killing us!

If we just cut sugar from our diets, we could rid the world of not only heart disease, but

also obesity, diabetes, and even cancer!

The change in attitude might seem extreme, but the case against sugar has been building

for decades, while the one against saturated fat has been weakening.

And yet, though we all love a good villain, when it comes to the health effects of your

diet, things are rarely that simple.

Today, we're taking a look back at the complex history of nutrition science to try to understand

how saturated fat became public enemy number one.

And how, when doctors zeroed in on fat, they overlooked the damaging effects of sugar.

But that doesn't mean it should be the new saturated fat, or that fat is entirely exonerated.

And while there still isn't an easy answer as to what diet is best for losing weight

or preventing heart disease, cutting down on things like saturated fats and refined

sugar is probably a good start.

Back in the late 1940s, Ancel Keys, a physiologist at the University of Minnesota was puzzled

by the fact that American businessmen seemed to be dying at an alarming rate from heart attacks.

These middle-aged men made more than enough money to to afford quality food.

So why were they the ones keeling over?

He hit upon an idea, often called called the diet-heart hypothesis, that would forever

alter 20th century food habits.

That's the notion that the amount of fat you eat, specifically saturated fats—the

ones where the fatty carbon chains are all connected by single bonds, and therefore maxxed

out, or saturated, with hydrogens—leads to high levels of fats in your blood, which

then glom onto the walls of your blood vessels to cause coronary artery disease.

It's kind of like how pouring too much bacon fat down your drain can clog your pipes.

Keys was especially concerned about blood levels of the fat cholesterol because it's

found in the fatty build ups in blood vessels.

So he did a few small studies to test his idea, and then decided to go big or go home.

In the Seven Countries Study, he and his colleagues looked for correlations between diet and coronary

artery disease in about 13,000 middle-aged men in the U.S., Japan, Finland, Yugoslavia,

Italy, Greece, and the Netherlands.

By 1970, the early results were in, and total dietary fat didn't seem to matter.

But the groups of men with the highest average saturated fat intake tended to die more often

from heart attacks,

and across the globe, blood cholesterol levels correlated with saturated fat consumption.

Another large epidemiological study, the Framingham Heart Study, further supported a link between

blood cholesterol and the risk of heart disease.

These studies showed robust correlations, but they still were just that: correlations.

Many people, though, assumed that these results meant that reducing fat intake would protect

people against coronary artery disease—which is not something a correlational study can actually show.

A handful of researchers did try to do randomized controlled trials—the gold standard for

testing medical interventions—to see if low saturated fat or low cholesterol diets

actually helped prevent heart attacks and deaths, as the hypothesis predicted.

But nutrition trials are notoriously difficult.

Some of the results suggested lowering saturated fat could help, but most were small studies

and they were hard to interpret.

And each one used a slightly different diet, replacing in the saturated fat calories with

different things.

So, by the late '70s, there was still no conclusive proof that reducing saturated fats

could actually protect hearts.

But that hadn't stopped the diet-heart hypothesis from becoming mainstream—it seemed to fit

most of the available data.

And many experts felt the danger of cardiovascular disease was too high not to recommend some

some change in what Americans were eating.

So in 1977, the US Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs released its

new dietary goals, telling Americans to get just 30% of their calories from fat — down

from 40% — and to limit the saturated fat to 10% of the total.

The guidelines also suggested reducing dietary cholesterol and refined sugar, and increasing

complex carbohydrates, but those weren't really talked about as much.

Other countries followed suit, so soon, pretty much everyone was told to shun butter for

margarine, and supermarket shelves were quickly stocked with "low fat" options.

But from the beginning, critics questioned those recommendations, pointing out that the

specific diet now being championed had never been tested in a trial.

And some suspected refined sugar was a bigger problem.

In fact, the Seven Countries Study also showed a strong correlation between the consumption

of sugar and heart attacks, but this finding wasn't given much additional study because

it looked like saturated fat was the better predictor.

And it wasn't until this century that we learned the sugar industry helped ensure its

product was overlooked.

For example, in 1967, they paid three Harvard public health researchers what would now be

about $50,000 to write a review article in The New England Journal of Medicine —a highly

influential journal—that highlighted the role of fat and downplayed any involvement of sugar.

But twenty years later, after a half century of fat-hating, the tide began to slowly turn

toward against them, both in the lab and at home.

Not only had research not found conclusive proof that saturated fats were the problem,

new analyses of the collective past studies showed that the link between saturated fats

and heart disease was much weaker than previously assumed.

And new observational studies were finding that quickly digestible carbohydrates and

added sugars were independently associated with an increased risk of heart disease.

Also, the whole idea that "cholesterol" was bad turned out to be much more complicated,

undermining part of the premise for why fat was supposed to be so evil.

To their credit, researchers in the '60s and '70s had a vague sense that the type

of cholesterol mattered.

But they didn't fully understand how cholesterol moves in our blood, including the roles of

the different lipoproteins that ferry it around.

When doctors look for "cholesterol" levels in blood now, they tend to look at triglycerides—the

total amount of fat—as well as the total amount of cholesterol.

They also look at whether that cholesterol is being shuttled by low-density lipoproteins

or LDL, the so-called 'bad' cholesterol, and high density lipoproteins or HDL, the

'good' cholesterol.

High LDL is a risk factor for heart disease, but having more HDL is usually considered

good, though researchers are still trying to understand the different sizes and subtypes

of each and how they help or harm.

The problem is, foods that are high in saturated fat can raise both HDL and LDL, so they might

seem more harmful if you just focus on total cholesterol or LDL.

So as a new century began, people started rethinking the war on fat, especially since

the advice to lower fat intake wasn't helping people stay healthy.

By the early 2000s, low-fat diets didn't seem to be doing squat for most people.

Obesity and diabetes — both of which are risk factors for heart disease — had skyrocketed.

And that might be because, while lots of people embraced low-fat foods, they had opted for

reduced fat snack cakes or cereal loaded with sugar or other carbs instead of healthier

things like fresh fruits and veggies.

So a different diet—the low-carb, high-fat Atkins diet—became all the rage, and it

did seem to help people lose weight.

Scientists started to pay attention to it, too, and their initial results were promising.

In short-term trials of 6 months or so, people lost a modest amount of weight and tended

to slightly lower triglycerides while boosting HDL.

Diets high in sugar and refined carbs, on the other hand, tended to do the opposite,

raising triglyceride levels and bad LDL cholesterol, while lowering good HDL.

And in both animals and people, excess sugar was linked to elevated blood pressure—another

risk factor for heart disease.

The weight of the evidence against sugar over the past twenty years in particular has tipped

the scales, and now, you've probably heard all about how sugar is the worst thing ever.

It sure is an easy target; since sugar provides no nutrients other than calories, it's hard

to defend.

You certainly don't need refined sugar to stay alive.

And that's led a lot of people to call it 'toxic' and blame almost anything on it,

even diseases with strong genetic links, like inflammatory bowel disease or cancer.

But careful review of the science suggests that's taking the backlash a little too far.

While most of us are likely eating too much added sugar, no one really knows how much

is too much.

And connections to diseases, even ones that seem clear-cut, are not always so straightforward.

Scientists don't actually know whether eating sugar can cause diabetes, for example.

Eating too much sugar can certainly lead to weight gain and obesity, which is one of the

biggest risk factors for the disease.

But different people break down and use sugars differently, and so right now many experts

think sugar consumption itself isn't causing diabetes—complications from being overweight are.

Which is also likely the case for heart disease and other aspects of health.

We know that high cholesterol in the blood, specifically LDL, is a risk factor for heart

disease, but so is high blood pressure and obesity.

How food fits into all of that isn't simple, since dietary fat and sugar both affect some

risk factors.

Other habits matter, too, like whether you exercise or smoke.

And researchers are still trying to understand what sugar actually does to the body.

Quote "sugar" comes in various forms, the relative merits or demerits of which scientists

are still debating.

And the same can be said of quote "fat."

If you ask a cardiologist today about whether saturated fat is bad for you, you may get

a surprising answer: it depends.

That's because whether or not saturated fat increases cardiovascular disease in any

given study seems to change depending on the exact type of fat being studied, what the

source is, and what it's replaced with if it's removed from the diet.

The extent to which sugar and saturated fat are to blame for heart disease, or pretty

much any disease, is still being heavily debated by researchers.

At the end of the day, though, you still have to eat, and all of this doesn't really give

us a satisfying answer as to what your diet should look like.

And I hate to tell you this, but head-to-head tests of low-fat and low-carb diets haven't

identified a clear winner.

While low-carb diets seem to be a teensy bit better in the short term, when scientists

study people for longer, the difference declines.

Low-carb diets seem to lead to slightly higher increases in good cholesterol and bigger drops

in triglycerides, but the two diets perform about the same for other heart disease markers.

And neither is terribly effective for people trying to lose weight.

Typical weight loss after a year is barely over 5 kg.

But you can always find individuals who respond really well, dropping like 30 kg, and those

who gain weight while on the diet.

This has led some researchers to think that maybe certain people, either because of genetics

or metabolic reasons, do better on a low-carb diet, while others benefit more from a low-fat

regimen.

One especially attractive idea is that people who already are a little insulin resistant—a

huge risk factor for type two diabetes—would probably fare better with fewer carbs and

more fat.

But even this more nuanced approach doesn't seem to hold water.

In a 2018 study of about 600 people, assigning diets based on genes or insulin levels didn't

help.

Everybody did about the same after one year, regardless of whether they went low-fat or

low-carb.

Scientists are still hoping to find other markers, like those related to the microbiome,

or how much certain genes are expressed, that could determine what diet is best for you.

But for now, what we're left with is a bit of a draw.

There are some things that can be gleaned from this big, nutritional mess, though.

In general, doctors still recommend cutting down on saturated fats, but it's important

to pay attention to what you eat instead.

Swapping out saturated fats for unsaturated ones, like those found in nuts, is usually beneficial.

That is also often true if you exchange the fat for whole grains, but not if you sub in

other carbs, like sugar.

And it probably wouldn't hurt to cut down on refined sugar in general, too.

But if we've learned anything from nutrition history, it's that a blanket prohibition

on any one thing isn't likely to be the answer.

Sugar vs. fat is a false dichotomy, and when you think about it, that makes complete sense.

Of course too much fat is a bad idea.

And so is too much sugar.

But just as eating the occasional sweet is not going to give you cancer, and the occasional

steak isn't going to give you a heart attack.

8th Edition 40k - The Best Edition Yet! Or is it? - Duration: 9:27.

8th edition 40k the best edition of Warhammer 40k yet or is it Nick speaking

and welcome to this video right in today's a wonders of video I am gonna be

answering the ultimate question is Warhammer 40k 8th edition the best

edition of 40k yet now 8th edition has been out for

around a year now and I have the Codex for my main army now Games Workshop said

this is going to be the Edition that we asked for is going to be the best

Edition yet so I thought I would review that and answer the question do I think

this is the best edition of Warhammer 40k yet now before that if you would

like to keep up to date with the wonders of Warhammer 40k then please give me a

sub and hit the bell button so you don't miss an upload now when eighth

edition was first announced it was fair to say it was quite a scary but exciting

experience this game of ours was going to change in a big way and apparently it

was going to get simpler to play we had a core rule set that was going to be

free for everyone to play now that did happen but of course if you wanted to

play the game properly you also needed a big rulebook then they introduced all of

the indexes with all army rules released at once this was a fantastic way to go

and you have to give credit to Games Workshop for this everyone could play

this brand-new edition from day one with any of their armies and then in a very

short space of time the codex's were released to go with the 8th edition

rulebook now sadly not everyone has a codex yet they are still waiting but a

good majority of armies have their codex and we've seen GW updating the rules

along the way either with faq's errata's or chapter approved so it's

quite clear that Games Workshop are committed to 8th edition to try and make

it the best Edition they can keeping on top of the rules keeping all

the armies updated as quickly as possible and reaching out to the

community in several ways with questionnaires with Facebook updates

with warhammer community website it's been a long time since games workshop

did this interaction with us and I think they're doing a fantastic job they even

have their own YouTube channel where they're doing painting tutorials and

updates and releases etc so pretty exciting times from that point of view

but how about from the game point of view

okay so 8th edition had a brand new simplified rule set so one would think

that you could just read those rules and play well that was certainly possible

however the problem that I came against was my actual army itself now army

list-building had totally changed now one thing that I was able to do with 5th

edition 6th edition 7th edition was take my army lists adapt them slightly and

then carry on playing them however with 8th edition that just

wasn't the case the way we build our armies is totally different now we don't

even have the standard force organization chart of one HQ and two

troops like the old days things are very much different and on top of that

they've introduced command points and stratagems so now you have to build your

list to get as many command points as you can so you can use the goodies in

the stratagems to make your army work so for me the biggest change was in how I

built my lists and that not necessarily caused a problem but it certainly meant

a slowdown on learning curve indeed it's been so slow that I've only

played one game with my Tyranids and I haven't even opened my Elder codex which

I've had since it came out I just haven't had the inclination to do it

I've been concentrating on the Necrons and list building for the Necrons well

now I'm getting quite competent with that now i'm quite happy and settled with

that I feel like I probably am ready to go into a second army but it's taking me

around a year to be able to do that now of course I

haven't had the Necron codex for that's long

so that has had an impact on that learning curve

however the points that I'm making is the complicated side of the game that we

had in sixth and seventh edition seems like it's moves from the game itself

over into the armies now I think this is probably a good thing because it means

if you want to play it more of a basic game without all of those complicated

rules the game is there you can use power levels if you want to as opposed

to points so the game is definitely simpler and easy to play if you want it

to be however in match play I find the rules are still just as complicated

they've just moved from the game to the actual armies and of course this is

compounded by faq's chapter approved beta rules or any other way that GW want

to change the rules to try and level the playing field to try and make what is

basically an unbalanced game as balanced as possible so the actual game

of eighth edition is definitely a lot simpler I look back at 7th edition and

8th edition is a lot easier to play even though there are some rather odd rules

like a tank being able to shoot around the corner even though they're gun

doesn't have line-of-sight some rather odd non-cinematic things happening on

the table but the actual game itself definitely is a lot simpler but like I

said I think the complicated side of the game has been moved into the armies

however although they are a bit more complicated they certainly have a lot

more flavor so whilst building an army it's definitely more complicated we

certainly have a lot more flavor just take the Necron codex for example

we have five dynasties to choose from each of them making a necron army work

differently then you have your stratagems you've got to build your list

and round those stratagems once you start using those stratagems again it

can change the way the army works you can change how a unit works on the table

it means even though you're playing a necron player you don't know what type

of army you are going to be facing the armies can be a lot more favourable

there can be a lot more varied I think on the whole this is

a great thing it also makes list building a bit more interesting a bit

more challenging to make a list that can only be a good thing for the Hobby it

also means you will get lots of different armies and army playstyles on

the table so with all that said and done what do I think of 8th edition is it the

best addition of 40k yet okay well my answer is yes it is I think it is the

best edition I don't think it's the easiest edition I think it is actually

just as complicated as what we've had before however I think it's a lot of fun

the game itself is a lot simpler I think making lists is a lot harder but also a

lot more tactical which is great for the game it means it can be as complicated or

as basic as you want it to be you don't have to use stratagems you don't have to

use command points you can play power levels you can just use the standard

core rules or you can go all out and of course we have the campaign section in

the main rule book as well this has to be the best edition of 40k and it's

backed up by Games Workshop now how long Games Workshop will keep 8th edition

going that is the question personally my hope is that eighth

edition in its current format with all of the updates that they're doing all of

the time it would last quite a long time I would like to see 8th edition stay

around for a very long time it is slightly concerning that age of Sigmar

has had an update only after three years Warhammer 40k usually gets an update

between two and four years so what is going to happen with eighth edition will

it be updated anytime soon or will it last the distance

I am hoping it will last the distance especially when you consider that the

updates of age of Sigmar are now incorporating a lot of eighth edition

rules in now of course this is just my opinion and I would love to hear what

your opinions are so do you like eighth edition

do you think is the best of ever do you like stratagems and command

points do they bring flavour or do they bring an unnecessary complicated element

to the game and how long do you think 8th edition will stay around let me know

Which Is Easier - $1 to 1 Million? or 1 Million to 100M? - Duration: 4:26.

Okay, Steven today we got a really awesome question someone submitted a

question for us to and basically said, "is it easier to turn a dollar into a

million bucks or is it easier to take a million and turn it into a hundred

million dollars? That's a great question. It's all coming your way right now.

You know you can always go into the comments below and drop brilliant

questions like this one that says, "is it easier to make a hundred million with 1

million or 1 million with $1. Good question. Uh-huh. I like it. So we're

not going to answer though. Yeah we're not, goodbye. So this is

actually super easy to answer. Steven, it's harder to make your first million

or your second million? It's harder to make your first million. Why? Because it's

your first time. Yeah and it gets easier every time after that. Because?

Because you have experience and you gain knowledge and wisdom and it's just

easier. So it's kind of like, it's kind of like anything you do the first

time, right? When you first learn to ride your bike, it's hard because you don't

even think it's possible. I just helped my son actually. So my son just turned

six years old. He was kind of tentative. You know I remember, I think I learned

how to ride the bike when I was like five maybe, right? You know and because I

learned that five, my son should learn about five too but he didn't want

to, right? So, he was all scared and he couldn't figure out the balance thing

right off the bat. But as soon as he learned it, I mean it was like easy, right? He

got off. I mean he just went out all over the neighborhood, was doing

awesome and you got to start with the belief that you can make a million

dollars. I remember when I was learning back flips, I could do a front flip

because I decided that was easier and everyone I met it's like no no no back

flips were way easier. Heard that. I've heard that a lot. And then when I finally

did a back flip was like, it was scary but every back flips since, guess what? it

got real easy. Are you still doing back flips? Yup, I do back flips. Good work. Yeah, absolutely. So

it's like riding a bike. The first time you learn it, it's difficult because

you're learning all these new things. Your body has to adjust, your mind has to

adjust. Once you've learned how to do it, you can do it over and over.

Let's get super specific on real estate investing for a moment. It took me four

years to basically make my first million dollars. But after I learned how to do

that, like I kid you not, today strip it all away from me. If I

have to do it all over again, I now know how to make my first million dollars in

way under a year, way under a year. And I want to just share with you for a moment why.

It's because not only if you've done it once can you do it again. But it's like

Steven said, it gets easier. So like for example, I was two years into my four

years of making money in real estate before my father-in-law said, "you know

what, maybe I'll do a deal with you." And I was nervous about it but the deal worked

and he made and then we did another one and then we

did another too. We did this several dozen deals together. And because he made

money, he kept coming back. Well, I remember I had 10 homes. I was a senior

in college and I just thought man, "I wish I had more father-in-law's." And that's

when I thought you know what, I could totally find people like my father in law.

More wives. No, no.That's not where I was going. No, I totally went and found four other men that had

done very well in their careers. I showed in my portfolio and just like my father

law, like, "dude, let's jump in and do some." And now it's like what I could

do as much real say as I want. If I could go back in time, guess what? Yeah. I could

do way more real estate way quicker, way sooner. So yeah, dude making your first

million is definitely the challenge. Going from 1 million to a 100

million, I think that would be way easier. Yeah. Than start with nothing and making

your first million. Yeah, well think about it.

$1.00 to a million dollars, that's a million dollar difference. Million

dollars difference. Yeah. So it's just a huge difference there. So

make your first million so that everything afterwards is just downhill.

Hey, thank you so much for watching this video.

Listen, if all you got is a buck and you're saying I need help making it into

my first million, have no fear. Steven and Kris are here and will even help

you do it. We've got all sorts of tools and gadgets and gizmos galore that

can help make that happen. I know but all you got to do is go home and click the

link in the description below and our team will be in touch with you to

share with you what we would do if we were you, to get started all over again

on making that first million even easier your first time with our experience. And

don't forget to subscribe and ring the bell so we can notify you of upcoming

videos. Booya!
