Barack Obama Said Seven Words That Just Proved He Is The Biggest Liar In History

Barack Obama was the worst President in history.

Ever since leaving the White House, Obama has attacked Donald Trump and engaged in revisionist

history to recast his eight disastrous years in office as a success.

But Obama went off the deep end when he said seven words that proved he is the biggest

liar of all time.

Obama's attempts to rewrite history now include him lying about how "I did not have

scandals as President."

Newsweek reports:

"PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA TOOK A LIGHT SWING AT HIS SUCCESSOR DURING A TECH CONFERENCE

IN LAS VEGAS ON WEDNESDAY.

HIS EIGHT YEARS IN OFFICE WERE SCANDAL FREE, HE TOLD THE AUDIENCE.

"I DIDN'T HAVE SCANDALS, WHICH SEEMS LIKE IT SHOULDN'T BE SOMETHING YOU BRAG ABOUT,"

OBAMA JOKED.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP'S PRESIDENCY HAS THUS FAR BEEN RACKED WITH SCANDALOUS ALLEGATIONS,

BUT OBAMA LATER HEDGED HIS BARB.

"BUT ACTUALLY," HE SAID, "IF YOU LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF THE MODERN PRESIDENCY, COMING

OUT OF THE MODERN PRESIDENCY WITHOUT ANYBODY GOING TO JAIL IS REALLY GOOD.

IT'S A BIG DEAL."

THE REASON HIS PRESIDENCY WAS RELATIVELY CONTROVERSY FREE, HE SAID, WAS BECAUSE HE WAS ACCEPTING

OF BAD NEWS.

"NO ONE IN MY WHITE HOUSE EVER GOT IN TROUBLE FOR SCREWING UP AS LONG THERE WASN'T MALICIOUS

INTENT BEHIND IT," HE SAID."

The Obama administration was awash in scandals.

Mark Hemmingway of the Weekly Standard picked this laughable claim apart by pointing out

that two of Obama's numerous scandals – Operation Fast and Furious and the attacks at Benghazi

– both resulted in people dying:

"SO WHAT WOULD CONSTITUTE A "MAJOR" SCANDAL?

WOULD IT INVOLVE, SAY, DEAD BODIES?

THE BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES GAVE THOUSANDS OF GUNS TO MEXICAN

DRUG CARTELS; THEY USED SOME OF THEM TO KILL DOZENS OF PEOPLE, INCLUDING AMERICAN BORDER

PATROL AGENT BRIAN TERRY.

WHEN CONGRESS TRIED TO INVESTIGATE WHY THE ATF GAVE AWAY SO MANY GUNS AND FAILED TO TRACK

THEM, THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE ENGAGED IN UNPRECEDENTED STONEWALLING.

THE DEPARTMENT WITHHELD 92 PERCENT OF THE DOCUMENTS REQUESTED AND FORBADE 48 RELEVANT

EMPLOYEES FROM SPEAKING TO CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATORS.

ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER WAS ULTIMATELY HELD IN CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS, WITH 17 DEMOCRATS

SUPPORTING THE MEASURE.

AN EXPLANATION FOR WHY THE ATF GAVE THOUSANDS OF GUNS TO VIOLENT CRIMINALS HAS YET TO EMERGE—BUT

WE ARE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS NOT A "MAJOR" SCANDAL.

FOUR AMERICANS, INCLUDING THE AMBASSADOR TO LIBYA, DIED IN A PREMEDITATED TERRORIST ATTACK

IN BENGHAZI TWO MONTHS BEFORE OBAMA'S REELECTION.

THE WHITE HOUSE CLAIMED, THOUGH IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY HAD EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY,

THAT THE RAID WAS FALLOUT FROM A SPONTANEOUS PROTEST OVER AN AMERICAN ANTI-MUSLIM YOUTUBE

VIDEO.

THE MAKER OF THE VIDEO WAS PROMPTLY ARRESTED ON OLD, UNRELATED CHARGES.

THE CBS NEWS PROGRAM 60 MINUTES RECORDED OBAMA REFUSING TO RULE OUT THE POSSIBILITY BENGHAZI

WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK IN AN INTERVIEW THE DAY AFTER IT OCCURRED BUT DIDN'T BROADCAST

IT.

A TRANSCRIPT OF OBAMA'S STUNNING CONCESSION WAS QUIETLY RELEASED A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE

ELECTION, BUT BY THEN THE WATERS HAD BEEN SUFFICIENTLY MUDDIED SO THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT

FOR MITT ROMNEY TO PRESS HIS CASE THAT OBAMA HAD LIED.

(THE GOP CANDIDATE WAS FAMOUSLY INTERRUPTED BY MODERATOR CANDY CROWLEY WHEN HE TRIED TO

MAKE THIS POINT IN ONE OF THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES.)

IT PROBABLY HELPED THAT OBAMA'S DEPUTY NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER BEN RHODES, WHO WOULD LATER

BRAG ABOUT DISHONESTLY SELLING THE IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL, IS THE BROTHER OF CBS NEWS PRESIDENT

DAVID RHODES.

THERE WERE FOUR DEAD BODIES AT THE HEART OF A POLITICAL COVER-UP, BUT THE MEDIA ATTACKED

THE SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION AS AN OVERREACH OF AN OBSESSIVE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS."

That is just scratching the surface.

During Obama's tenure, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper was caught perjuring

himself during Congressional testimony when he denied that Barack Obama was illegally

spying on every American without a warrant.

Edward Snowden's disclosures exposed a scandal that many critics believed rose to levels

of impeachable offenses.

Obama also weaponized the IRS to target Tea Party groups for harassment.

And who can forget the famous Obamacare lie, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your

doctor."

And finally, there was the lie Obama made on national television about Hillary Clinton's

private email server.

Obama claimed he learned about her illegal server from news reports—when in reality

Obama exchanged emails with Clinton using her private email address.

The Obama administration was drenched in scandals.

And Obama knowing that he can claim he had no scandals and that the media will dutifully

report on it as fact shows two things.

First, it demonstrates Obama is the worst liar in American history.

Second, it shows just how biased and corrupt the so-called "mainstream media" really

is.

This Is How Amazon's Alexa Records And Shares Private Conversations Without Your Permission - Duration: 4:04.

This Is How Amazon's Alexa Records And Shares Private Conversations Without Your Permission

by Tyler Durden

As it turns out, the scandal over Amazon's Alexa voice-controlled personal assistant

recording and sharing private conversations both with hackers and with people on the users'

contact list is much more serious than the company had feared.

As Bloomberg reported, Amazon responded to a KIRO 7 news report about a couple who received

a call from a friend saying "unplug your Alexa devices right now.

Youre being hacked" after the company's device had shared a private conversation without

explicit permission.

Amazon offered a complex, meandering "explanation" for the series of strange coincidences that

triggered Alexa to record and share a couple's private conversation.

It started with Alexa being triggered when it heard a word that sounded like "Alexa"

- the command for the technology activate.

Here are the details:

Amazon explained the series of events that triggered the episode in an emailed statement.

The Echo woke after hearing a word in the couples conversation that sounded like

"Alexa" -- the usual trigger to begin recording.

The speaker later heard "send message" during the conversation, at which point the device

asked, "to whom?"

The pair continued talking in the background and the Echos system interpreted part of

the chat to identify a name in the couples contact list.

Alexa then asked aloud if they wanted to send a message to that contact and heard "right"

in more background conversation.

"As unlikely as this string of events is, we are evaluating options to make this case

even less likely," the company said.

The report invigorated privacy concerns as internet-connected devices like the Amazon

Echo become ubiquitous in homes.

Amazon in 2014 introduced the new line of devices, which can also stream music and order

goods from Amazon via voice command.

It has been busy introducing updated versions and adding features to sell more devices than

rivals like Alphabet Inc. and Apple Inc., which offer their own versions.

The "explanation" suggests that consumers should be extremely careful of what they say

around their personal assistants to the point where more users should consider deactivating

the device when it's not in use.

And there's plenty: more than 60 million U.S. consumers will use a smart speaker at least

once a month this year, with more than 40 million of them using Amazons devices,

according to eMarketer Inc.

Ryan Calo, an associate law professor at the University of Washington who studies the intersection

of law and technology, said this incident could cause lasting damage not only to the

Alexa, and thus Amazon, brand but to voice-controlled personal assistants in general (Alphabet and

Apple make their own model).

People have been willing to overlook glitches in the Echo, like it turning on accidentally

or without the wake word being uttered, said Ryan Calo, an associate law professor at the

University of Washington who researches how law applies to technology.

This incident is more alarming since a private conversation was recorded and sent to a third

party, he said.

"Think about how uncomfortable the millions of people who own these things now feel,"

Calo said.

"The real harm is the invasion into solitude people now experience in their homes."

Not to mention the damage it could do to technology more broadly, as paranoia surrounding privacy

continues to intensify, according to Daniel Kahn Gillmor, the in-house technologist at

the American Civil Liberties Union.

Trump And Kushner Score Major Victory - Duration: 13:17.

Trump And Kushner Score Major Victory—And It's All For America's Safety

One of Donald Trump's messages during the campaign was "Make America Safe Again."

He vowed to be the law and order President—unlike his predecessor.

Now a new bill passed by the House will go a long way in achieving his goals.

Enforcing our laws and bringing criminals to justice is vital in keeping our society

safe.

But, all too often, the prison system fails in a big way.

Criminals serve their time in prison, only to come out and break the law again.

A system originally designed to reform criminals makes them worse.

What can be done to end that cycle?

Is there something our leaders can do to both help convicts change their lives and keep

our streets safe?

Trump aid and son-in-law Jared Kushner thought so.

He championed for reform that will help criminals turn their lives around.

Kushner worked with our lawmakers to craft a bill that would transform how our system

treats convicts.

And the House overwhelmingly supported it.

From New York Post:

The House by an overwhelming 360-59 vote passed a bipartisan reform bill Tuesday that provides

more education for federal prisoners and gives them a second chance after their release.

The bill would also boost current inmates' chances for a GED, vocational and college

courses as well as substance abuse and mental health help, Jeffries told lawmakers on the

House floor.

The legislation is a priority for the White House, thanks to the advocacy of Jared Kushner,

who saw how his father, Charles, was treated in federal prison.

The president's son-in-law worked closely with the bill's authors and helped host

a prison reform summit at the White House last week with President Trump.

"America is a nation that believes in the power of redemption," Trump said Friday.

"America is a nation that believes in second chances, and third chances, in some cases.

And, I don't know, I guess even fourth chances."

That vote is significant.

The vast majority of our leaders in the House voted for this bill.

Both liberals and conservatives.

That tells you how effective Kushner can be to bring people together.

After all, Trump doesn't surround himself with chumps.

But why would this bill be a win for American citizens?

The goal is to reform criminals.

What good is it to send people to jail, only for them to return to crime afterwards?

This bill will go the extra mile in ensuring those criminals who want to change their lives

have the opportunity to do so.

That will result in more Americans empowered to live in peace and safety.

More Americans working hard to gain a better life.

And fewer Americans reliant on the government, one way or another.

The bill must go to the Senate, where it's fate is currently in question.

I can't imagine any senators opposing it.

We'll have to wait and see.

Man Thinks Rusty Box In Yard Is Useless Until He Opens It & Realizes It Holds Lost Treasure

As kids we dream of finding lost treasure in our backyard, fantasizing about the many

treasures that would bring us riches.

For one man in Staten Island, New York that childhood dream actually became a reality

when he came to learn that an old rusty box in his backyard was actually an unopened safe. For

4 years Matthew Emanuel had noticed a rusty box hidden among the tree line in his backyard

but he had mistaken it for an old, rusty electrical box.

Thinking nothing special of it, he let it be until the day he hired workers to come

in and put bamboo in place of where the old trees stood.

It was then that he learned that the rusty electrical box was actually a safe.

Shocked, he opened it up, never expecting it to actually hold treasures inside but he

was wrong and the safe contained much more history than he thought.

Inside he found cash, jewelry, diamonds, precious jade, an engagement ring, gold and much more.

Matthew was at a loss for words.

How was it possible that this safe had just been left in his backyard?

After emptying out the contents inside he found a piece of paper with an address scribbled

on it.

That address was that of his next-door neighbor.

Seeking answers, Matthew went over to his neighbor's house and asked if they had ever

been robbed.

It seemed like an odd question to them but they replied yes and stated they had been

robbed 7 years ago.

After checking with the police it was in fact true that his neighbors had filed a robbery

dating 7 years back for about $52,000 in assets.

Matthew couldn't believe it and knew the right move was to return the safe back to

his neighbors – an act of kindness we hope comes back to him.

Watch more about this incredible story in the video below.

Sometimes childhood dreams really do come true.

Hisone to Masotan is Weird (or, why it's so fun to watch) - Duration: 4:08.

Okay, some context might be necessary here . . .

Hisone to Maso-tan is an anime series by Bones studios that follows the titular Hisone Amakasu, a rookie in the

Japanese Air Self Defense Force with communication and self-esteem issues

who's chosen by the co-titular Maso-tan to be a dragon pilot.

It's like Aggretsuko, but with even more sexual harassment . . . and dragons . . . and vore . . .

god, anime's fucking weird. Now the first thing that's probably your eye is the show's art

style. It has this almost cartoony feel, with it's rounder designs and thick

outlines, that complements the show's tongue-in-cheek nature, but at the same

time it's filled with these lovingly rendered landscapes and shots that're

just gorgeous to look at. Though somewhat simplistic, the show's artwork and

animation is executed with an incredible attention to detail that you can't help but

appreciate. And it has just as much fun playing around with its world as it does

its aesthetics. There are a lot of zany ideas in the show, such as the necessity

for the pilots to sit inside a dragon's stomach to pilot them - something you just

know someone's getting off to - to the fact that the dragons have to be

disguised as military aircraft to hide them from society at large. It's weird in

just the right way to keep you interested, if for anything else just to

see how the characters react to it all. Speaking of, the show's cast, though

borderline archetypal, is given enough room to be fleshed out and show off the

many sides of their respective multifaceted personalities, dragons

included. Take Nao, for example. She starts off as this tough and determined

delinquent character who'll take any excuse to snap at Hisone. But we very

quickly see that, not only does she have grand ambitions of becoming a dragon

pilot just like her mother, despite not being chosen by a dragon to pilot, but she

also has a softer almost giddy side to her. When Ikushima, the D-Pilot suit

designer, comes to inspect Hisone to make her suit, Nao gets all blushy and

flustered, thinking that he might have come to see her. Though a tad clichéd,

she's a well-rounded character that's a lot of fun to watch. Granted, there are

some characters who do feel quite one note, but even that's played to great

effect in many situations. The show builds up a strong cast of complex

characters you can't help but want to watch, not just for comedy's sake, but to

see develop. As, you see, each of the characters struggles with their own

sense of self-worth, whether they loathe their personality, or their mistakes, or

are simply unsure of their place in the world. But as the series progresses, they

start to find a sense of solace in each other and, more specifically, in their

respective dragons. It emphasizes the fact that nobody is an island, and how,

even at the best of times, we all need someone who can help us let off a little

steam. Hell, even Nao starts to mellow out after a few episodes. The show's

whimsical and carefree tone is grounded by the relatable touch brought by its

characters personal struggles. And honestly, I have little to complain about

with the show. The only thing I could maybe say is that sometimes it gets lost

in its own metaphors, resolving its conflicts with vague implications of

character development and something to do with magic? Though it's probably

something that'll make sense in the larger narrative, and is something that

the emotional hook of those same episodes is able to get you to ignore, it

still leaves you scratching your head sometimes.

Overall, Hisone to Maso-tan is weird, in a good way. It's a show that's more than

happy to have fun with its world and its characters, and whose stylized aesthetic

and whimsical world of dragons and myths has this personal touch to it that, for

me, makes it so fun to watch.

And yeah, those are my thoughts. Let me know what yous think, if yous agree,

disagree, who your favorite dragon is, if you're also weirded out by the

similarities this show has to Darling in the FranXX, what with the sexual undertones

and message of finding strength in your connections with the people around you,

etc, and thanks for watching! If yous enjoyed this and wanna see more,

then check out my last video, where I breakdown, ironically enough, Darling in

the FranXX, and its melodramatic relationship problems. Or check out my

video on SAO Alternative, and why it's, actually good. And don't forget to

follow me on Twitter for more updates about this channel and other stuff, and

hopefully, I'll see you later!

In Jakarta Monkeys Are Forced To Wear Masks – And It's Both Cruel And Seriously Creepy - Duration: 6:59.

throughout the streets of Jakarta Indonesia is capital poverty is rife

with trash and sewage all around the desperate and impoverished citizens

approach Western visitors they're displaying their handicaps and twisted

limbs in the desperate hope to gain a few coins unsettling as this may be

though there's something else that will also readily shock foreigners fully

clothed and arms outstretched what looks like a small child approaches you for

money but as it gets closer you realize with horror that what you're seeing

isn't even human in fact peeking out from behind a doll's

mask is actually a monkey disturbingly human in appearance this unsettling and

eerie spectacle wouldn't look out of place in a macabre horror movie but the

nightmare here is indeed theirs for these are jakarta's toe penguin yet or

masked monkeys captured and forced to perform for money these monkeys are

shackled in Chains and enslaved to a life of performance rigorously trained

to walk in their hind legs ride bikes juggle dance and replicate other human

traits indeed perhaps what's most disturbing about these spooky creatures

is that they appear like ghostly mini versions of ourselves maybe then they

evoke our basic human fear of capture and disempowerment in recent years

animal rights groups have been campaigning strongly to stop the grill

practice they state that the animals are exposed to high levels of barbaric

cruelty the system is fed by poachers who capture wild monkeys from the

forests and sell them to trainers for just a few dollars each and these street

monkeys are part of a wider problem within Indonesia and throughout the rest

of Asia each year around 3,000 monkeys are snatched up from Indonesian forests

they're often separated from their mothers and many end up traded around

the globe for animal research and experimentation other monkeys themselves

work the streets they play their part in a practice that's been going on in the

city of Jakarta for decades indeed although it started as a way to simply

entertain impoverished children training monkeys is now considered a bonafide

career the practice developed once the monkey

masters as they're called realized that they could make a pretty penny from

tourists in fact at one point as many as 350 monkeys were performing on the

streets of Jakarta of course locals are by now unfazed by the creepy childlike

apparitions if anything locals look upon the monkey masters with approval

that's because any business that earns money is considered a worthy one in a

city otherwise besieged with poverty and even outright thievery it's well

understood moreover that monkey masters are doing their job out of necessity

poachers meanwhile sell wild monkeys to trainers for anywhere between two to

seven dollars a fully trained macaque then can be resold for as much as a

hundred thirty-five dollars or even rented for only three dollars a day

whatever profits the trainer's make however are often quickly spent on food

and the basic human needs for their own families but the methods the trainers

used to teach the monkeys how to behave has not surprisingly angered animal

charities in the region reportedly the monkeys have their teeth pulled to keep

them from biting anyone they also undergo torture sessions that include

having their arms chained and raised this is done until the monkeys are

forced to walk on just their feet sometimes what goes on is even more

horrifying frequently their teeth are cut out and they're often starved and

made to hang upside-down for prolonged periods femke de haas founder of jakarta

animal aide network told the BBC astonishingly the monkeys endure this

horrific practice for 4 to 6 hours a day for up to 6 months

not surprisingly many time but the survivors then face a lifetime of

performing the tricks of the trade with the chains around their necks moreover

their deaths sometimes come prematurely as handlers will usually sell aggressive

monkeys as food with such a job it's not hard to imagine just how difficult the

off work hours are for these little monkeys indeed as dan has told the BBC

the monkeys live in pitiful conditions are riddled with parasites and forced to

live in small cages unfortunately with the exception of living in actual cages

many of the human in evidence of Jakarta are not doing much better

but the trainer's depend on their monkeys being in good health to perform

there the source of our life how could we be cruel to them no way one trainer

named Serena told The Associated Press the mom of three was in charge of no

fewer than 13 monkeys at the time unfortunately for Serena and others who

make a living from this act the protests from animal rights groups have grown

stronger the government moreover has taken notice

in 2012 Jakarta Animal Aid network was given its permission to confiscate 40

street monkeys consequently it turned out that the poor creatures were in fact

infected with parasites and diseases such as hepatitis and tuberculosis it

was partly the fear of such diseases spreading to humans that facilitated

further government crackdown on the situation in October 2013 then governor

Joko jokowi Widodo decided to outlaw the practice taking the local press he

explained that the exploitation of monkeys for performances has become an

international issue and the city administration will act immediately to

save them and with Dodos fears about human infection appeared to be founded

in fact Jakarta Animal Aid network has claimed to have discovered some people

in one housing complex in the east of the city

who'd contacted tuberculosis from their monkeys knowing this the ban couldn't

come soon enough for the organization the city government promised to buy back

all of Jakarta Street monkeys for around $90 each before sheltering them at the

city's Ragunan zoo to further compensate those losing money on the trade Widodo

said that all owners would receive training to develop skills to land new

jobs the street sweep duly got underway and many animals were rescued and

quarantined posters were also placed around the city explaining just how

hazardous monkeys can be to community health overall then the ban has been

considered a success all the confiscated monkeys have been rehabilitated and

three out of five groups have been successfully released back into the wild

Jakarta Animal Aid network said in an August 2016 update on its website the

network is now preparing to release the last two groups of monkeys who have been

undergoing more than three years of rehabilitation

as of 2016 moreover the network has secured an additional ban on dancing

monkeys in Indonesia's West Java province and following his victories

it's continuing to campaign for a national ban across the whole of

Indonesia with such hard work then it seems that the country's monkeys may

have a brighter future in their natural habitats hopefully then their days of

dancing on the streets for money are numbered I hope you liked this video if

Subtropical Storm Alberto is in the Gulf of Mexico - Duration: 7:33.

Subtropical Storm Alberto is in the Gulf of Mexico

Subtropical Storm Alberto turned to the north and is expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico

on Saturday (May 26), hurricane forecasters said.

It's expected to bring heavy rain and rip currents to New Orleans and much of the Gulf

Coast later on Memorial Day weekend.

Alberto is the first named Atlantic storm of 2018, days ahead of the traditional start

of hurricane season on June 1.

Here's what we know as of Saturday.

Where's Alberto now and where is it heading?

The 10 p.m. Saturday update on Subtropical Storm Alberto from the National Hurricane

Center indicates its center has reformed slightly to the northeast.

It about 120 miles west-southwest of the Dry Tortugas and 400 miles south of Apalachicola,

Fla.

The storm is holding its forward speed at 13 mph and winds remain at 40 mph.

After traveling north for most of Saturday, forecasters said Alberto was heading north-northeast.

Forecasters have also shifted Alberto's storm surge watch to the east, although the range

of tropical storm watch is unchanged from the 4 p.m. update.

With the storm drawing nearer, a tropical storm warning is now in effect for portions

of the northeastern Gulf Coast.

A tropical storm watch is in effect from the mouth of the Pearl River east to the Mississippi-Alabama

state line.

A tropical storm warning is in place for the Dry Tortugas and from the Aucilla River in

Florida to the Mississippi/Alabama border.

Will New Orleans see rain from Alberto?

The late Saturday rainfall projections for Alberto did not include the New Orleans area.

Still, a flash flood watch remains in effect for southeast Louisiana through 7 p.m. Monday.

Alberto is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 10 to 15 inches with isolated

totals of 25 inches across western Cuba.

Rainfall accumulations of 3 to 7 inches with maximum amounts of 10 inches are possible

across the Florida Keys and southern Florida.

Heavy rains will begin to affect the eastern Gulf Coast region into the southeastern United

States on Sunday and continue into the middle of next week as Alberto moves northward after

landfall.

Tropical Storm conditions are expected within the warning area along the northern Gulf Coast

by Sunday night.

Tropical Storm conditions are possible in the watch area along the northern Gulf Coast

by Monday.

Southeast Louisiana could feel storm-force winds starting late Sunday night, depending

on Alberto's path.

Storm surge, flash flood threats exist The combination of storm surge and the tide

will cause normally dry areas near the coast to be flooded by rising waters moving inland

from the shoreline.

The water could reach the following heights above ground somewhere in the indicated areas

if the peak surge occurs at the time of high tide.

New Orleans and its area lakes are included in the National Hurricane Center's illustration

of areas that face a flash flood threat.

When will we know more?

The National Hurricane Center will issue an intermediate advisory at 2 a.m.

Sunday and its next full advisory three hours later.

When does hurricane season start?

Hurricane season starts June 1 and ends Nov. 30.

NOAA predicts a 75 percent chance this season will be near or above normal.

NOAA forecasts:

10 to 16 named storms, which includes tropical storms.

There is a 70 percent likelihood we'll fall within this range, the forecast says.

5 to 9 hurricanes.

Remember, hurricanes are storms that have winds of 74 miles or higher.

1 to 4 major hurricanes.

These are the big Category 3, 4 and 5 storms with winds at 111 miles per hour or higher.

By comparison, NOAA said the average hurricane season produces about 12 named storms, six

of which develop into hurricanes.

The average hurricane season sees three major hurricanes.

How unusual is it to have a May storm?

May storms are "highly unusual," though they have happened before, said Mike Bettes, a

meteorologist with The Weather Channel.

Scientists have counted 14 named May storms since 1951, added Dr. Phil Klotzbach, a research

scientist in Colorado State University's Department of Atmospheric Science.

Hurricane seasons that have May storms tend to average near-normal activity for the rest

of the season, Klotzbach added.

What should you do now?

This system could mean rain for New Orleans, but it is still too early to tell exactly

how much rain.

Now is a good time to:

Clean your gutters.

Remove debris from the catch basins in your area.

If you are flying out of the city over Memorial Day weekend, the New Orleans airport advises

you to monitor your flight status.

It's also a good time to get your hurricane plan in place.

FEMA recommends keeping the following basic supplies in a disaster preparation kit:

Water, one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking

and sanitation Food, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable

food Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a

NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert and extra batteries for both

Flashlight and extra batteries First aid kit

Whistle to signal for help Dust mask, to help filter contaminated air

and plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter-in-place Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic

ties for personal sanitation Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities

Can opener for food (if kit contains canned food)

Local maps Of course, you'll also want to consider your

specific circumstances.

If you have children or pets, you'll want supplies for them.

And if you evacuate, you'll probably want to load your car with additional items such

as important documents.

Beware of boating this holiday weekend.

The Coast Guard warns against boating this holiday weekend amidst potentially hazardous

conditions.

They issued the following tips:

Those needing passage through drawbridges should seek access well in advance of the

arrival of gale force winds.

The bridges may deviate from normal operation as the storm approaches.

Stay clear of beaches since rip currents and strong waves are likely.

Ensure all boating gear is properly stored.

Wait for the go-ahead from authorities before entering any storm-damaged areas.

Do not board a partially sunken boat; seek salvage assistance from a professional.

10 Signs and Symptoms that Your Body Needs More Omega 3 Fatty Acids - Duration: 13:00.

10 Signs and Symptoms that Your Body Needs More Omega-3 Fatty Acids.

When it comes to fat, there's one type you should definitely include in your diet – omega-3

fatty acids.

Omega-3 fatty acids, also known as n-3 fatty acids, are polyunsaturated fatty acids that

are important for overall health.

Basically, there are three types of omega-3 fatty acids –alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)

that is found in plant oils, and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)

that are commonly found in marine oils.

Omega-3 fatty acids play a crucial role in brain function as well as normal growth and

development.

They are known as "essential" fatty acids as the body isn't capable of producing them

on its own.

Therefore, you must rely on omega-3 foods in your diet to enjoy the health benefits.

Whenever possible, try to get omega-3 fatty acids from foods rather than supplements.

Aim to eat fish high in DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids 2 or 3 times a week.

Some types of fish that are rich in DHA and EPA are anchovies, bluefish, herring, mackerel,

wild salmon, sardines and tuna.

Another important type of omega-3 fatty acid is alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).

Some of the good food sources of ALA are walnuts, flaxseed and flaxseed oil, and canola oil.

Low or insufficient levels of important fatty acids can lead to a deficiency in the body.

A deficiency in any nutrient can be detrimental to your health and cause several health problems.

Here are the top 10 signs and symptoms that your body needs more omega-3 fatty acids.

1.

Heart Problems The role of omega-3 fatty acids in cardiovascular

disease is important.

In fact, experts recommend eating a diet low in saturated fat and rich in monounsaturated

and polyunsaturated fats (including omega-3 fatty acids) to prevent heart disease.

The fatty acids help reduce risk factors for heart disease, including high cholesterol

and high blood pressure, by slowing the development of plaque and blood clots, which can clog

arteries.

This is important to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes and abnormal heart rhythms

in people who are at a higher risk of suffering from heart disease.

Omega-3 fatty acids also help increase the level of good cholesterol (HDH or high-density

lipoproteins) and reduce the level of bad cholesterol (LDL or low-density lipoproteins)

in the body.

A 2014 study by Oxford University in England reports that fish-oil fatty acids with anti-inflammatory

properties can help prevent and reverse a plethora of cardiovascular conditions.

Another study published in Circulation in 2016 found that people who took a high dose

of fish oil for six months following a heart attack actually improved their hearts' overall

functioning and also reduced biomarkers of systemic inflammation.

2.

Poor Mental Performance Omega-3 fatty acids are considered to be crucial

for memory and mental performance.

They help build cell membranes in the brain, which are important for brain health.

Hence, a good amount of omega-3 fatty acids intake is important when it comes to efficient

brain function.

In fact, low intake can lead to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and poor academic performance.

A 2010 study published in Nutrients reports that low levels of omega-3 fatty acids may

contribute to ADHD and related developmental and other mental health problems.

A 2011 study published in Nutrients reports that DHA has a positive role in neurodevelopment

and the prevention of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.

A 2012 study published in Clinical Nutrition Experimental reports that an increase in polyunsaturated

fatty acids, specifically DHA, may improve literacy and behavior in children with ADHD.

The greatest benefit may be observed in children who have learning difficulties.

Another 2012 study published in the Journal of Child Neurology also confirms the positive

influence of omega-3 fatty acids supplementation in children with ADHD.

3.

Depression Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly EPA and

DHA, are highly effective in preventing and managing depression.

In fact, a low level of this healthy fat in the body may increase the risk of depression

as well as worsen the symptoms..

A 2007 study published in Psychiatry Research suggests that omega-3 fatty acid status is

associated with variability in affect regulation, personality and impulse control.

A 2009 study published in CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics reports that omega-3 fatty

acids were shown to be more effective than placebos for depression in both adults and

children in small controlled studies and in an open study of bipolar depression.

A 2014 study published in Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity highlights the role

of omega-3s in preventing psychiatric diseases.

It can maintain and increase the brain structures and preserve their function as well as prevent

or decrease the inflammatory status occurring during depression.

4.

Vision Problems Failing eyesight or other eye problems are

another sign of essential fatty acid deficiency.

These fatty acids are an important component of fat molecules, which keep your eyes healthy.

They also aid proper drainage of intraocular fluid from the eye, thus decreasing the risk

of high eye pressure and glaucoma.

Dry eye syndrome also has been linked to omega-3 deficiency.

A 2009 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that people

who consumed the most omega-3s were 30 percent less likely to develop macular degeneration

than those who ate less.

This study was carried out over 12 years.

A 2011 study published in the International Journal of Ophthalmology reports that cod

liver oil (a good source of omega-3 fatty acids) can help treat glaucoma, a huge cause

of vision impairment in the U.S.

Another study published in the International Journal of Ophthalmology in 2013 concludes

that omega-3 fatty acids have a definite role in improving symptoms of dry eye syndrome.

The benefit seems to be more marked in conditions such as blepharitis and meibomian gland disease.

A 2014 study published in Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science reports that dietary oily

fish and seafood intake significantly lowers the risk of age-related macular degeneration.

5.

Inflammation & Joint Pain A low level of omega-3 fatty acids in the

body may lead to inflamed joints, which in turn may cause rheumatoid arthritis.

The omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce pain and inflammation

in the body.

The fatty acids also help ease joint tenderness, decrease stiffness and may help lessen the

need for medication.

In addition, these healthy fats may decrease symptoms of morning stiffness and tender or

swollen joints, along with helping increase blood flow during exercise.

A 2006 study published in Surgical Neurology reports that omega-3 fish oil supplements

worked just as well as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in reducing arthritic pain

and are a safer alternative to NSAIDs.

A 2014 study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine reports that borage

seed oil – rich in gamma linolenic acid (GLA) – and fish oil rich in EPA and DHA

helped in treating patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

6.

Low Immunity Low omega-3s in the body may contribute to

weak immunity, making you more prone to common colds, infections and other health problems.

In fact, adequate amounts of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids help boost the immune system.

The functions of the immune cells are enhanced by the DHA and EPA fatty acids.

At the same time, fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E and K need these fatty acids in order

to be absorbed and stored by the body.

A 2002 study published in the Israel Medical Association Journal highlights the positive

connection between omega-3 fatty acids and the immune system in autoimmune diseases.

The study recommends the use of omega-3 fatty acids in the general healthy population, not

only to prevent atherosclerosis but possibly also to reduce the risk of autoimmune diseases.

Another study published in the Annual Review of Nutrition in 2006 analyzed several studies

and reports that, as per animal studies, fatty acids have powerful anti-inflammatory and

immunomodulatory activities in a wide array of diseases (e.g., autoimmunity, arthritis

and infection).

However, the evidence from human trials was more equivocal.

A later 2012 study published in Chemico-Biological Interactions reports that omega-3 fatty acids

are beneficial to health, in particular, by improving the immune response and lowering

the risk of vascular and infectious diseases.

7.

Weight Gain When your diet lacks omega-3 fatty acids,

you may have difficulty losing the extra pounds.

In fact, when you wish to lose weight, increase your intake of omega-3 fatty acids and reduce

your carbohydrate intake.

Due to low carbohydrate intake, your body has no other option but to access stored fat

for energy.

Omega-3 fatty acids can also lead to a higher resting metabolic rate and even speed up cell

activity, which means your body can burn more calories.

These fatty acids also suppress appetite because of their effect on leptin levels, a hormone

that affects appetite.

A 2007 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that a combination

of fish oil supplements and regular exercise can reduce body fat, while also improving

heart and metabolic health.

Again, a 2008 study published in Appetite reports that a diet rich in long-chain omega-3

fatty acids can modulate satiety in overweight and obese individuals.

8.

Extremely Dry Skin Another sign of an omega-3 fatty acid deficiency

is dry, itchy or flaky skin.

These fatty acids are needed by the oil-producing glands, the skin's natural moisturizers

in your body.

This is turn maintains healthy skin cell membranes and produces ample amounts of lipids.

Lipids help stop water from escaping through the skin, keeping it hydrated and smooth.

It even prevents wrinkles and works against the aging process.

A 1995 study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology reports that fish oil leads to

healthier skin by reducing inflammation.

It can even reduce sun-induced inflammation.

Another study published in 2008 in the Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology

highlights the positive effect of evening primrose oil capsules (a source of omega-6)

on patients with atopic dermatitis.

9.

Low Energy Level If you have a low energy level despite getting

sound sleep and rest, you may lack an adequate daily intake of fatty acids.

Omega-3 fatty acids are healthy fats that your body needs for proper growth and development

and normal brain function.

In fact, these fats are the most concentrated source of energy for your body.

As the brain is composed largely of fatty acids, a low level of these fatty acids can

lead to physical as well as mental fatigue.

When foods with omega-3 fatty acids are eaten along with carbohydrates, the fats actually

slow the digestion of carbohydrates.

This in turn improves insulin sensitivity and reduces the sugar crash that one experiences

after eating simple carbohydrates like white bread or pasta.

10.

Extremely Cold Hands and Feet If you feel cold all the time, your body may

lack the important omega-3 fatty acids.

These essential fatty acids help the body regulate its core temperature.

These fats are found just beneath the skin, which aids in insulating the body and retaining

heat.

This is important for maintaining the correct body temperature as compared to the outside

temperature.

In addition, these fatty acids protect the inner core from extreme temperature drops.

This is important when you travel to places where there are frequent changes in temperature

or climate.

Apart from an omega-3 fatty acid deficiency, magnesium and iron deficiencies can also make

you feel cold all the time.

Being underweight, having a low-performing thyroid or a peripheral vascular disease can

also lead to this problem.

Dainese's Custom Works motorcycle suit is one even Iron Man would envy - Duration: 8:58.

When it comes to motorcycle gear and keeping riders safe, Dainese is at the front of the

pack.

The brand's cemented itself as one of the premier gear companies in motorcycling.

So, when it asked if we'd like to give their recently revamped Custom Works program a try,

we jumped at the chance to see what the experience was all about.

With the Custom Works program, anyone can receive the sort of treatment normally reserved

for professional racers: A personal fitting for custom-tailored motorcycle gear.

This covers any type of gear Dainese makes, but is most often deemed appropriate for full

leather suits.

Dainese leverages its product showrooms — or Dainese flagship stores — to offer Custom

Works fittings at its many locations throughout the world, including multiple locations in

the United States.

The brand also travels to select motorcycle dealers to make its services available to

customers in other regions.

This dedication to its customers sets Dainese apart from much of its motorcycle gear competition.

REACHING A WIDER AUDIENCE When asked about why Dainese goes to the lengths

they do to offer programs like Custom Works, Dainese CEO Cristiano Silei told Digital Trends:

"In the same way Dainese was founded by passion for motorcycling based on safety,

style, and innovation, the Custom Works program was conceived to offer these ideals to people

whose body types fell outside the standard availability of our products.

With the recent relaunch of the project in late 2017, the idea was to incorporate new

technology available in order to bring the safety, service and experience to even more

people worldwide."

With the Custom Works program, anyone can receive the sort of treatment normally reserved

for professional racers.

Not only has Dainese completely overhauled the Custom Works program to better meet its

own standards, but it's also incorporated a web-based suit configurator.

Silei relayed that updating its own internal processes and introducing the Custom Works

3D Configurator has marked a "new era in the ease of participation."

Now, anyone who wants to see what their own custom-tailored and colored riding suit might

look like needs to simply open the configurator and get to work.

LIKE NIKE ID FOR MOTORCYCLE GEAR In the same way some automotive and shoe manufacturers

allow you to design for yourself from home, Dainese introduced its 3D configurator as

a way to explore the wealth of design options available — as well as their cost impact

— long before making your appointment to get fitted.

And if off-the-rack gear fits you well, you can still utilize the configurator to create

a bespoke suit, jacket, or pants without the extra step of getting fitted.

If you do happen to be one of those special few where nothing ever fits quite right, a

custom fitting is well worth the extra time.

In the world of motorcycle gear, the better something fits, the more protective it's

going to be.

A better-fitting kit also gives a rider confidence and, as the saying goes, a confident rider

is a safer rider.

FITS LIKE A GLOVE When we showed up for our fitting, we weren't

entirely sure what to expect.

Thankfully, Dainese's dedicated event coordinator and tailor were there to help.

Meeting these two was like being welcomed into the Dainese family — and suited up

for battle at the same time.

After taking measurements, of which there are a lot (from bicep flexing to ankle circumference),

we sat down to get into the nitty gritty of the suit's options.

The Mugello-R is a technical marvel that's a far cry from the leather suits of yesterday.

Up until this point, we had no idea what we would be customizing.

Wanting to bring their A-game, Dainese opted for the Mugello-R as the canvas for our foray

into motorcycle slash superhero suit making.

The Mugello-R is a technical marvel that's a far cry from the leather suits of yesterday.

Complete with Dainese's D-Air airbag technology, which deploys in the event of an off-bike

experience, the suit extends around the collar bones, ribs, and back.

In essence, it's a track enthusiast's best friend.

The suit is also armed with GPS, a suite of accelerometers, all the padding you'd ever

need, and an LED strip on the back reminiscent of RoboCop's suit.

All this tech does come at a premium — the Mugello-R runs at $4,500 off the rack, with

a custom fitting tacking on an additional $630.

This surely is an extreme price point when it comes to Dainese's offerings — the

rest of its lineup costs much less.

Though the main draw of the Mugello-R is that a regular consumer has the opportunity to

purchase the same level of protection professional racers get.

If you're into the sport of motorcycling, you want this suit.

Now that we knew what we were climbing into, it was time to explore the world of color.

This is the point where having already tweaked with colors at home on the suit configurator

helped set a baseline for the design.

Being able to customize the suit down to even the smallest of details means the options

are nearly limitless.

Custom colors are just the start — the ability to add logos and phrases throws an entirely

different level of customization into the mix.

Luckily, there are professionals to help guide you to a design you'll end up loving, and

can take you even deeper in detail than the suit configurator can.

TO ITALY AND BACK FOR THE PERFECT FIT With colors chosen and subtle personalization

added, it was time to send the design to Italy, where years of Italian seamstress experience

would handcraft this pinnacle of protection.

Production times vary based on overall demand and level of customization, but roughly three

months is a good estimate, give or take a week or two.

The suit is also armed with GPS, a suite of accelerometers, all the padding you'd ever

need, and an LED strip on the back reminiscent of RoboCop's suit.

Once the suit was ready, it meant a trip back to the place where we were fitted since Dainese

doesn't ship Custom Works items direct to consumers.

This is done to make sure they walk you through the process of adorning your newly minted

duds and that everything fits properly.

Dainese goes to great lengths to ensure its flagship store employees, as well as certified

dealers, are well-versed in how the tailored goods should fit.

The brand also explains the technical side of how a D-Air garment works — having staff

physically walk you through the components of arming and disarming your new airbag-equipped

garb is definitely helpful.

THE PRICE OF LUXURY While the suit itself is nothing short of

stunning, the obvious hindrance to the process is the cost.

Sitting at a whopping $630 more than any other suit, the Custom Works program isn't going

to be for everyone.

Looking at the dollar figure might be enough for some to not even consider a custom garment

as an option.

With that said, however, riding a motorcycle comes with the responsibility of keeping yourself

safe.

Spending more upfront in favor of potentially abating injuries is simple math, and ample

justification for your hard-earned dollar.

What Dainese does to earn that dollar includes bringing you the type of service normally

reserved for the athletic elite, as well as imbuing the confidence that comes with being

able to strap a computer to your back that's sole occupation is to keep you safe.

Couple that with the chance to live out your superhero fantasies in a one-of-a-kind garment,

and you have a truly unique experience.

✅ 'Work is great': Sylvia Jeffreys, 31, revealed what it's like behind-the-scenes at the Today show, - Duration: 2:51.

Lisa Wilkinson made a shock departure from the Today show in October, after an alleged pay dispute. And seven months later, Sylvia Jeffreys revealed what it's like behind-the-scenes, since her former co-worker jumped ship to rival network Ten

Speaking to The Sun Herald, the 31-year-old said: 'Work is great.' Sylvia added: 'We're having a brilliant time; everyone is feeling really good on set

'Lisa, 58, made her shocking departure from the Today show back in October, over an alleged pay dispute.  Making the announcement on Twitter, she wrote: 'I have some sad news

I'm sad to say that today was my last day on the Today show.'   An official statement from the Nine Network said it was 'unable to meet her expectations' after Lisa was alleged to have demanded equal pay with co-host Karl Stefanovic

Lisa's announcement came just a day after an explosive report claimed her contract negotiations with Nine had been 'stalled

'The Sunday Telegraph alleged that Lisa was holding out on re-signing until she was granted 'pay parity' with co-host Karl Stefanovic, 43

It was suggested the reason Lisa wanted the same money as Karl, was because he was 'rumoured to be on twice as much

'The Australian reported that Karl earns at least $2 million a year, in a three-year contract with a potential bonus that could take his salary to $3 million if ratings are hit

Lisa was also was said by The Daily Telegraph to have been on a $1.1 million a year contract, with Nine only willing to increase the amount to $1
