USS Zumwalt - Guided Missile Destroyer of the United States Navy [Full Review] - Duration: 2:40.
The USS Zumwalt, the largest destroyer ever built for the US Navy.
The 610-foot, 15,000-ton behemoth has begun sea trials before joining the US fleet some
time in 2016.
Its price tag of $4.4 billion is almost as astounding as its bulk, but US Navy Captain
James Kirk, the ship's skipper, said he was "fired up" for the Zumwalt to finally set
off for the Atlantic Ocean.
So advanced are the Zumwalt's stealth capabilities, that it registers on radar as a small vessel,
about the size of a fishing boat.
It is about 100ft longer and 20ft wider than the navy's current class of destroyers, and
boasts more advanced weaponry.
Its computer-guided missile system can hit targets up to 63 miles away, and it may eventually
be equipped with a laser weapon or electromagnetic rail gun.
The Zumwalt class was designed with multimission capability.
Unlike previous destroyer classes, designed primarily for deep-water combat, the Zumwalt
class was primarily designed to support ground forces in land attacks, in addition to the
usual destroyer missions of anti-air, anti-surface and undersea warfare.
The Long Range Land Attack Projectile, one of a range of land attack and ballistic projectiles
with a range of up to 100 nautical miles fired from a gun, is a key component.
On 21 November 2016 Zumwalt lost propulsion in its port shaft while passing through the
Panama Canal from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean en route to its homeport in San Diego.
Sea water had intruded in two of the four bearings that connect Zumwalt's port and starboard
Advanced Induction Motors to its drive shafts.
Both drive shafts failed and Zumwalt hit the lock walls in the canal, causing minor cosmetic
damage.
Zumwalt's passage through the Panama Canal had to be completed with tugboats.
Zumwalt underwent repairs at Vasco Núñez de Balboa Naval Base before continuing on
to Naval Station San Diego.
Upon arrival in San Diego, the leak was revealed to be through the lubrication cooling system,
though the cause remains unknown.

U S Boots Spies, Imposes Sanctions In Wake Of Russian Hacking - Duration: 4:21.
U.S. Boots Spies, Imposes Sanctions In Wake Of Russian Hacking.
by Jack Davis.
Having concluded that Russia ordered cyberattacks on American political targets, the Obama administration
on Thursday announced that it has slapped Russia with a package of sanctions.
The United States is also deporting 35 Russian intelligence operatives, the New York Times
reported.
Although Russian president Vladimir Putin is not among those named in the sanctions,
these data theft and disclosure activities could only have been directed by the highest
levels of the Russian government, President Barack Obama said in a statement announcing
the sanctions.
Obama, who is in Hawaii on vacation, expanded an executive order issued in April 2015 as
a way to take action against Russia before he leaves office next month.
The order gives the president authority to issue travel bans and asset freezes on those
who tamper with, alter, or cause a misappropriation of information, with a purpose or effect of
interfering with or undermining election processes or institutions, the Times reported.
The order bans four Russian intelligence officials from coming to the United States.
The Times noted, however, that top Russian intelligence officials rarely travel to
the United States, or keep their assets here, so the effects may be largely symbolic.
Sanctions were also imposed against three companies that the Obama administration supported
the hacking of the Democratic National Committee and other political organizations.
These actions follow repeated private and public warnings that we have issued to the
Russian government, and are a necessary and appropriate response to efforts to harm U.S.
interests in violation of established international norms of behavior, Obama said in a statement,
which noted that Russian attempts to interfere in U.S. elections pre-date this past years
contest.
Although the language of Obamas order could allow President-elect Donald Trump to revoke
the sanctions, the fact that the U.S. action is based on reports by a broad collection
of U.S. intelligence agencies would mean Trump would be acting against the conclusions of
his own agencies.
Trump has said in the past he is not convinced that Russia hacked into political organizations,
and has rejected the conclusion offered by some agencies that Russian agencies worked
on his behalf.
Asked on Wednesday night about action against Russia, Trump replied, I think we ought
to get on with our lives.
I think that computers have complicated lives very greatly.
The whole age of computer has made it where nobody knows exactly what is going on.
We have speed, we have a lot of other things, but Im not sure we have the kind, the security
we need.
Obama said his administration will be providing a report to Congress in the coming days about
Russias efforts to interfere in our election, as well as malicious cyber activity related
to our election cycle in previous elections.
The Times reported that a so-called joint analytic report from the Federal Bureau
of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security, using National Security Agency intelligence,
will be released to buttress the administrations position.
Russia has denied hacking U.S. political organizations.
If Washington really does take new hostile steps, they will be answered any action
against Russian diplomatic missions in the US will immediately bounce back on US diplomats
in Russia, Maria Zakharova, a representative for Russias Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
said in a statement.
She added, frankly, we are tired about the lies about Russian hackers its
misinformation by Obama administration aimed at providing an excuse for its own failure.

US WW2 Uniform Review: 551st PIB - Auron/Alpes Maritimes + [english subtitle] - Duration: 4:52.
WW2 Military Channel Presents
With Jeff Arène
And Angelin Tauveron
551st Parachute Infantry Batallion uniform review, Auron October 1944
Hello, welcome in this video in which we will present you the uniforms of the "Goya" of the 551st PIB in October 1944
After the Dragoon operation, the 551st continues its progress towards the Alpes-Maritimes
The unit serves as a mountain troop along the French-Italian border.
The 551st took part, with the 550th and the 509th, in fighting against the 5th Austrian Division Horchgebirgjäger
Lt.Colonel Wood Joerg, head of the unit, asked for volunteers who knew how to ski in order to patrol.
A dozen patrols were formed, composed of 12 men and could cover up to 30km.
Thus, the battalion protects the right flank of the 7th Army
On November 14, 1944, the 551st was relieved by the 100th Infantry Division.
The battalion leaves for rest before its engagement in the terrible battle of the Ardennes.
The snow is there in October 1944 in Auron and the soldiers have to adapt their uniforms. Many wear M42 camouflaged or M37 shirts and pants
To camouflage, the men are equipped with reversible parkas "Fur Trimmed" with a collar in hair of wolf. They are worn over the jackets.
Like us, you can find original models on the internet.
Our outfits consist, for me (Jeff), of a set M37 and a M43 and for Angelin, of an M42 outfit under the parkas.
The parkas did not belong to the soldiers, and will be worn on the white side for camouflage
We have Corcoran boots
We wear helmets M1 fixed legs on which are painted the insignia of the unit; A palm tree recalling the days spent in Panama.
Note the remains of some camo helmets.
The equipment is very light: for me it is bandoler, belt and grip German belt with a USM3 dagger in its Home-made scabbard.
The Garand is slung over the shoulder so as not to make ski trips
As for me (Jeff) I wear a belt model 1936 with canteen and a dressing pocket. I am armed with the Thompson M1A1, the chargers are stored in the pockets of the parkas.
A P08 Luger and a knife USM3 complete the armament.
Here is an example of the uniforms worn by the men of the 551st PIB in Auron, the video is finished we hope you like it, very soon, goodbye. -bye

Julian Assange Of Wikileaks To Hillary Clinton BLAME YOURSELF For Losing, Not Us - Duration: 2:05.
Julian Assange Of Wikileaks To Hillary Clinton BLAME YOURSELF For Losing, Not Us.
Julian Assange of Wikileaks has a message for Hillary Clinton.
If she wants to know why she lost, she should look into a mirror.
Hes right, of course.
All he did was confirm what many knew by sharing information.
That used to be the medias job but we all know we cant rely on them anymore.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Assange: Clinton did herself in, not WikiLeaks
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said it was Hillary Clintons own words that sunk
her run for the presidency, not WikiLeaks decision to publish them.
What is the allegation here exactly? Assange asked in response to a question in
an interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica about whether he had done a hit
job on Clinton.
We published what the Democratic National Committee, John Podesta, Hillary Clintons
campaign manager, and Hillary Clinton herself were saying about their own campaign, which
the American people read and were very interested to read, and assessed the elements and characters,
and then they made a decision, Assange said.
That decision was based on Hillary Clintons own words, her campaign managers own words.
Thats democracy.
In the weeks and months leading up to Election Day, WikiLeaks published private emails by
DNC officials and Podesta that proved damaging the Democrats and Clinton.
Do you think Hillary and Democrats would be complaining if Wikileaks had released information
which was damaging to Trump or any other Republicans?
Of course not.

Russia: Zakharova slams new US sanctions, victimisation of Russian diplomats' families - Duration: 2:58.
On December 29 the US administration announced the decision
that more than 30 Russian diplomats must leave the United States
In fact, we are talking not only about diplomats, but also about members of their families
this includes 96 people in total including children of school and preschool age
Before the end of the day of January 1, as soon as possible, our citizens who worked in the United States
for different time periods, some of them worked for a few years, some for a few months
must solve all their household and administrative issues, collect their things
close accounts, get their children and collect all necessary documents
According to the information that served as the basis for such a decision
data from the security services, Russian diplomats reportedly participated in some work
to disrupt the presidential elections in the United States
The dates they specified are 2015 and the spring of 2016
I would like to note that in the list of diplomats and members of diplomatic missions
of the Russian Federation on the territory of the United States
there are people who have literally been working in America for two months
I do not understand how they could be technically involved in undermining the US elections
as the special services specified the spring of 2016
Unfortunately, we have faced another case of misinformation
The unnamed officials, the representatives of the administration in Washington
briefed their media anonymously, saying that the American school in Moscow will be closed as a counter action
of the Russian Federation to those sanctions that were imposed by the White House and the expulsion of diplomats
It is a lie, it is not true
This is deliberate misinformation, which unfortunately spread very quickly
in particular on American TV channels, CNN and other media
We face these cases often, but the [US] administration has never stooped so low
as to when the misinformation relates directly to the children of American diplomats who work in Moscow

Obama Admin Claims Ties With Kremlin Are Improving After Russia Accuses U S Of Hostile Act In Syri - Duration: 3:51.
Obama Admin.
Claims Ties With Kremlin Are Improving After Russia Accuses U.S.
Of Hostile Act In Syria.
by Yochanan Visser.
Tensions between the U.S. and Russia increased Thursday after Russias Foreign Ministry
called President Barack Obamas recent decision to lift a weapon embargo on Syrian rebel groups
a hostile act.
The Russians said Obamas decision threatens the safety of its air force in Syria and its
military personnel in general.
On Dec. 8, shortly before the fall of Aleppo, Syrias second-largest city that was retaken
by the Russian Iranian-led pro-Assad coalition, the president lifted restrictions under the
U.S. Arms Export Control Act that forbids delivery of defensive supplies and services
to countries that are not cooperating fully with the U.S.-led war on terror.
The corresponding decision bears a direct threat to Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft,
other Russian military personnel and our embassy in Syria, which has been repeatedly shelled.
Therefore, we consider this step hostile, said the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
in a statement, adding that the American weapons could end up in the hands of terrorists.
The Russian ministry also accused the Obama administration of attempting to complicate
the situation in the world before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump last week showed that he, on his part, will not hesitate to confront Russian president
Vladimir Putin over his belligerent behavior toward the United States if necessary.
After Putin said on Thursday that Russia needed to strengthen the military potential of
strategic nuclear forces Trump responded by saying the United States will outmatch
Russia by launching a new arms race.
Let it be an arms race.
We will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all, Trump said during an off-air
phone call with MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski.
The president-elect later wrote on his Twitter account that the United States must greatly
strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its
senses regarding nukes.
The outgoing Obama administration, meanwhile, claims that its ties with the Russian government
are improving.
U.S.-Russian talks on their separate fights against the Islamic State group are improving
and becoming more frequent, unnamed U.S. officials told the Associated Press.
The same officials say the sides have put their different views on the Syrian war aside
and now discuss ways how they can work together to defeat the Islamic State.
During the discussions with their American counterparts, the Russians apparently convinced
the Administration that the U.S. air force should help the Russian-Iranian led pro-Assad
coalition retaking the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmor.)
Since Dec. 15, the U.S.-led coalition has conducted airstrikes on about two dozen locations
around Palmyra, destroying air defense weapons, tanks, aircraft shelters, storage bunkers
and other vehicles and equipment, the AP reported.
The pro-Assad coalition lost Palmyra again on Dec. 11 when the Islamic State re-conquered
the ancient city that once sat on the crossroads between Syria-Canaan and Mesopotamia and was
built by King Solomon.
