Hey everybody, it's Andy, back for another week to help you build a career you love.
Today, we've got a great tip for career changers to establish their new brand.
Now, if you've been following me, you know I talk about career changing a lot, I know
how difficult it is, so I want to give you a lot of instruction on that.
And if you haven't caught it, I've talked about how to change careers successfully,
the first seven steps that I would take to do that, and I've also spent a lot of time
in one of my live office hours talking on this very subject.
I'll put those links in the description, so you can check them out later, they give you
a much better running start.
But today, I've got a tip to help you get yourself out there as a knowledgeable person
on this subject matter that you want to turn to make that career pivot.
Now, in those steps, I talk about when you need to change careers.
In order to do it effectively, there's going to be a researching phase that you're going
to go through, and you're going to be getting up to speed, and following leaders, and learning
and taking schooling or certification training, or studying, however you want to get educated.
And then, I also talk about a step that you need to take in marketing yourself, everything
from how to establish your new brand to your resume and all that good stuff.
Well, one of the things that you can do that does take a little bit of lead time, because
these things don't necessarily happen overnight for you to establish this new identity for
yourself, is that I think that ... and what do I always talk about, lets control what
you can control, and one of the things that you can control is what you put out into this
world.
So, what I recommend, as a tip, is LinkedIn has a wonderful platform where it allows anybody
to put a long form post together, kind of like a blog post or an article, or a video,
or whatever it is that you want to make.
As you start to learn about your new subject, whatever that is and whatever career you want
to turn to, I highly recommend that you start writing about it.
It could be a how to, it could be an editorial or opinion piece, whatever it is that starts
to get content circulating in this world that you're distributing as the author.
And why is this so important?
Well, if you write a post one week, and you start to circulate it on LinkedIn and your
other social platforms, people will start to take notice, and what's really important
about that is your network is going to be so vital in being able to help you with your
career change because you're going to have to rely more heavily on your network to get
interviews, because the applicant tracking system submissions are not going to be kind
to you, relative to the other job seekers who actually have the hardcore skills already.
So, as part of your rebranding effort, it's a great idea to start putting content out
into the world, and sharing it with your network.
So, if you write one, one week, and you share it a couple three times a day on LinkedIn,
and Facebook and Twitter, where've you might be, Instagram, people will start to take notice.
Write another one the next week, that's two.
Keep circulating both, and then three and four.
In eight weeks, you'll have eight articles.
And what's really neat about this, is not only will your network take notice, but if
I'm an employer, and you're referred to me or you apply to me directly, and I take a
look at your LinkedIn profile, one of the things that I'm going to note is that you
have articles that you've written that are on your platform, and I will see that you
are writing about this subject, and my inclination is going to be to assume that you're knowledgeable
on this subject.
Say, hey look wow, she wrote eight articles on this particular subject matter.
Now, I'm not going to take the time to go and read them all, but I certainly will take
notice when I see your LinkedIn profile, that you have a number of these articles that you've
written about.
And if nothing else, I appreciate that you've taken the effort and made the effort to really
be committed to this.
So, this sends a lot of great messages.
So, my one tip to help you in your rebranding efforts, is to write about it, use LinkedIn's
long form platform because it's very easy, and you're going to need to circulate this
stuff to your network, and I would share it with your network.
And if you do that, you'll start to accumulate many, many posts, and so when an employer
ultimately lands on your LinkedIn profile, which most of them will check whenever they
get your resume submission, they will take note and it will do wonders for helping establish
some wind at your back as you go in for that interview.
So, that's my tip.
If you like it, give me thumbs up.
Click the share button, let other career changers know about this.
If you are watching this anywhere other than my tips for work in life blog, or my YouTube

Barnstaple Ability Counts Football Club: Show You Care - Together we can make a difference (1 min) - Duration: 1:13.
I moved to Devon three and a half years ago and saw an advertisement for 'football coach is required'
I made a call and was invited along to watch a training session and from the moment I got there
I was just immediately hooked. It was just such an uplifting and rewarding experience
to give so many young disabled people the opportunity to play football and
here I am - three and half years later - I am a qualified football coach.
I'm one of a number of volunteers at Barnstaple Ability Football Club.
It's just the best feeling in the world to be able to know that someone who has come to a
session and they've had a really good time and I wouldn't have that
opportunity and I wouldn't get those feelings if I didn't volunteer.
We all need to make our communities a nicer safer better place for people to live in
and I really do feel part of the local community because of what I do at the football.
Volunteering for my community is my way of showing I care.

How To Create A Can't Fail Business Using NLP - Duration: 12:01.
how to create a can't fail business using NLP stay tuned
hey this is Damon Cart from NLP Gym how to create a no fail business using
NLP if you haven't already please click to subscribe to this youtube
channel so you can get these videos on a regular basis that's the big risk that's
always the big fear in creating a business is that it's going to fail and
that's a good fear to have because most businesses do fail so how do you make
sure that your business doesn't fail the simple answer to this and remember
anytime I say something is simple I don't mean to say that it's easy because
many things can be very simple but very hard and business is extremely hard I
have two of them so I know what that's like
so the simple answer is find a business or created business that fulfills and
expresses your highest values what do you what do I mean by that your highest
values and how do you how are you gonna know what your highest values are take
something you want say it's a career or say it's a business you've been thinking
about starting a business and ask yourself why do you want to do that and
then just keep going deeper and deeper so what's important about that and just
go deeper into you enlisted three to five of your highest values I'll link
one of my videos to this video where I listed values so listening values is
super important because when you're fulfilling your highest values that
means when you're doing work or you're working on a business that fulfills your
highest values you're never gonna quit you're gonna
keep going and you're going to find a way my first business nearly failed and
I found out later after I started learning NLP why that happened because
i elicited my highest values and those happen to be freedom passion and joy so
when I started my first business I knew that it wasn't something that I was
passionate about I knew that it wasn't something that I was going to enjoy
really but I believed it was going to give me freedom and freedom being my
highest value I thought well if I have freedom then I can always have the
freedom to indulge passion and joy I can always go for passion and joy if I have
the freedom to do it now that was flawed thinking and again I didn't know I don't
be at the time I didn't even know what my values were at the time just looking
back and unpacking all of this I understand what happened I understand
why it didn't work so I'm able to articulate it now and this is the case
with a lot of people who started business I don't really know why they're
in it a lot of times it's not even their own values that they're after they're
fulfilling someone else's values who thinks it's a good idea to have a
business very very clear about what those highest
values are and then realize that whatever business you choose is not as
important as you getting to do what fulfills you what you what fulfills your
highest values so what happened to me in my first business is I wasn't
experiencing passion because it wasn't something I liked
I wasn't experiencing joy and as a result it made it very very difficult to
be successful at this and the idea of freedom well that would have come when
after I was successful after I was making a lot of money and I could just
have my employees run my business but if I couldn't get to that point then I
wasn't experiencing freedom either and I couldn't because it's really hard to be
successful at something you don't like or that you're not passionate about you
just don't want to do you're not interested in it it's very very hard and
in spite of all that I was able to make it successful successful enough not as
successful as I had set out to make it and then upon realizing all this fun
realizing I didn't really like doing it at all I was okay with not taking it any
further not my next business which happens to be
this business in okey Jim this was came from purely compassion I didn't have a
whole lot of business ideas about it or or I just knew I wanted to do it and
upon wanting to know that I wanted to do it I wanted to know how I could also
monetize it so that I could keep doing it and I could justify taking the time
to do it later found that this business does fulfill my three highest values now
remember those won't be your highest values necessarily you have your own
highest values and find the three to five for you that are your highest
values not many people know this but it wasn't even that long ago that I quit
NOP Jim I left everything up I left my website up I left the YouTube channel up
but I actually quit because I didn't think it was going to work as a business
I didn't think it was viable the problem was not that I wasn't passionate about
it it wasn't that I wasn't enjoying it I definitely was and it also granted me a
lot of freedom freedom to do what I want to do so my values were there but what
wasn't there was a good business strategy and I was a problem with not
understanding your values you get married to the strategy you think it's
all in the strategy and when the strategy fails you think you've failed
or you think that it can't work or that you went about you did the wrong thing
or you're this is not yet know the strategy you can throw out business
strategies business plans change all the time in fact that's the only way
businesses are successful because they need to be adaptable and flexible to the
market so when you know what your values are you can throw the strategy out and
start over again you can throw the business plan out and start completely
over again and that's exactly what happened to me I thought things had to
go a certain way with this business when it didn't work I thought well it's not a
viable business I got to get out and then it's strange and I know it is
attached to my values it almost felt like the business sucked me back the
business brought me back because I valued it I value doing it and as a
result I provided value to people out there and so some people started to
catch on that I wasn't doing anything some of the people who were following me
and I started getting messages left and right where are you
what happened to you I hope you're not sick I hope you're not dead and it
showed me that I had been putting out a lot of value and that people wanted it
and they wanted me to come back and do what I had been doing and it was also
then that I realized that I had been going about it in a way that really
limited me from monetizing the business from really turning it into a successful
business and it's a strange thing but this is part of the hero's journey where
when you quit that's that point where the hero quits and realizes that what
they want is not possible it's not that they quit the whole thing is just that
they realized what they originally wanted isn't possible and they give up
on it it's when rocky and rocky one realizes he cannot beat the Apollo Creed
a new possibility emerges and that new possibility emerged for me as well and
so it was easy to come back why because this is what I love doing this is what
I'm passionate about this is what I enjoy doing and it gives me a tremendous
sense of freedom so yeah throw the business plan out throw the way that I
thought it had to be right out the window and start over with a new
strategy and a new plan and that's why it's a can't fill
business when you're working at the level of your highest values you will
keep coming back you will never quit you will change the strategy you will change
the plan you might completely revamp the business entirely as you adapt to the
market and what your clients and your customers want stay connected with your
highest values and you will always have meaning and purpose and what you're
doing and you will always enjoy it so that's one of the things that I see a
lot of people do is they get into a business for the money and that is to me
the worst idea you could ever do don't ever go into business for the money go
into business because it's something you really enjoy now here's the other thing
to be careful about going into business just to go something's a hobby because
when you start depending on that hobby for money the joy that you might have
gotten out of that was that it was a hobby and that it wasn't so serious so
it goes both ways be careful about either one so you want to pick a
business that will make money and it's viable of course but don't do it just
for the money because when things get tough and when things get really hard
and when your business isn't working especially since your heart's not really
in it it's so easy to quit and you won't go back you'll drop it you'll let it go
because it's not fulfilling you but when your business fulfills and expresses
your highest values you're never going to stop you it doesn't matter how many
times you fail it doesn't matter how many times something doesn't work you're
gonna keep coming back you're gonna change the strategy in the plan and just
keep doing it so what if you don't own a business and you don't know if you want
to this year still trying to figure that
out even more reason why you want to know what your highest values are
because what you might realize is business is opening a business it's
really not right for you you might realize that you'd rather be in a career
and be employed by a corporation or a small business so that's a really
important thing to know because I know a lot of people get into business who it's
not really their thing it's they think it was they think it is or they it
sounds glamorous or they like the idea and then they get into and they realize
it's not at all what they thought it was but here's the thing here's what I would
take away from this start treating your life like a business that doesn't mean
that everything comes down to money because even as an entrepreneur not
everything comes down to money for me there are people who are like that I'm
not like that and you don't have to be like that but think about your life as
you incorporate it you're a brand even if you you don't have a brand even if
you don't have a business but start to start thinking that way
start dealing with your budget your household budget as if it was a business
budget and start looking at what it is that's going to serve you as if you were
a business this is a much bigger discussion I just want to introduce this
idea it was very helpful to me and I've carried this idea with me probably for
almost ten years now and it served me quite well and all I'm
doing is saying take that idea and hold it like I did hold it loosely and grow
with that idea it regardless if you open a business whatever it is that you do
think of yourself as you incorporate it
check out my website NLP-Gym.com there I have some free NLP training and

I can watch movies ANYWHERE from my car! - Duration: 18:32.
Hey everyone we've got a really cool project for you this week as you know I
love movies like a lot, and it would be really awesome to go to the drive-in
theater to watch a blockbuster film in my 1979 MGB spy car the problem is most
drive-ins around here have actually closed which is a real shame because I
really wanted to go on an old-school date and as you guys know I'm working on
a spy car right now...
I'm talking rocket launchers under the headlights a
grappling hook launcher in the grill and for romantic nights out a built-in
projector so you have a movie theater wherever you want yeah that's right I'm
gonna be making my own personal drive-in movie theater in fact LG liked our idea
so much they decided to partner with us on this project to help us make it super
epic. They sent us their new CineBeam 4k laser projector it's one of the
brightest and smallest consumer projectors on the market it's
transformative design allows it to be used almost anywhere okay
so I've got my classic car and this awesome projector all I have to do is
put them together and I'll have the ultimate portable drive-in movie theater
the only hard part of this project will be finding a date...
Well that's a future Hacksmith problem let's get started!
So this car was made in 1979 that actually makes it 11 years older than I am and
personally I think this is the perfect vehicle for a drive-in movie theater now
all we have to do is figure out a way to power the projector off of the car and
mount it. Just gonna plug it in and we can see where we can mount this...
that's not too bad, now where else can we put it
maybe something like this
Now this is a rather small car but luckily the projector is pretty compact
so I think we could fit it around here somewhere but we might have to design
some kind of mechanism
Now the funny thing is before I quit my job to do YouTube full-time I actually
worked for a company that designed and made digital
movie projectors the only difference is they're about a hundred thousand dollars
and absolutely massive it's actually really impressive to see that LG has
been able to shrink this technology down into a consumer product that's actually
a very affordable price. Mounting this permanently in the car is actually gonna
be a bit of a challenge so let's go to the computer and start looking at some
3D models
All right so to make the mechanism to actually raise the
projector out of the MG so we can point it at the movie theater screen we're
actually gonna design it in CAD, now the software we use is called Solidworks and
the reason we use the software is because both Ian and I have a lot of
experience with it I'm talking over ten years I'm actually a certified
SolidWorks professional the other software we're gonna be using is called
grabCAD now grabCAD is actually a website that allows you to share your 3d
models with everyone else in the world for free and actually we have a lot of
our projects on there if you guys want to check out our profile there's a link
in the description below but the other feature it has is a private cloud for
you to share your projects with other people in your business or your team so
we actually had Bogdan measure up the projector and create a rough model of
the projector which will allow us to design the mechanism around it so let's
just add in some of the parts so we're gonna be using a linear actuator to
actually move the projector they're easy to use, they're electrically powered, they
take about 12 volts, make a bracket, add in some other parts
and there we go one projector mechanism and as you can see goes from close
position all the way up into open all right let's build it
Alright gonna cut out side pieces, pull that out, set it down, then just have to trace out pattern
And then we just cut it out!
oh really really really really no I'm
No, I'm just kidding we're actually gonna be using our maverick CNC plasma cutter
they've got from elite metal tools I've already loaded the dxf in so I just need
to press go and it'll cut it out
If you guys are curious about how the circuit actually works
check out the circuit diagram at maker.IO
all right now that bogdan's finished up with electronics we are ready to
permanently install this into the car! oh man this is heavy
why do we make all of our projects so heavy this projector was so light before
we added all this steel to it. Now we just have to screw it down
Plus, the projector ships with two wood screws for installing into your spy car
All right now that we've got the projector mounted in the car we need to power it
somehow the funny thing is consumer electronics actually run off of DC power
what you find in a battery but because they're designed to be plugged into the
wall which uses AC the power supply inside of consumer electronics actually
converts AC to DC to power the electronics now a car battery which is
12 volts DC would actually run most electronics but we don't want to take
apart the projector to bypass its internal power converter so what we're
going to do is actually get a power inverter now this will take 12 volts DC
and convert it to 120 volts AC which will feed into the projector which will
then convert it back to DC, woohoo! electricity
now the protector itself is actually extremely power efficient because it
uses lasers we used a power meter to see how much power it actually draws from
the wall and it's only a hundred and fifty two watts that's like two
lightbulbs old-style projectors that use xenon lamps are more like 1500 watts or
ten times the energy consumption as this projector which is really cool so we
actually kind of oversized the inverter just a little bit this is actually a
2000 watt power inverter and the reason we did that was we're planning more
gadgets for the car and we want to make sure we have enough power to power everything
That's less than a light bulb, and it's 3000 lumens! How do they do it?
but the ultimate test it's overkill power supply it's for the car to power
the projector we make our portable drive-in movie theater and the only concern I
have is this does not actually put out a pure sine wave as you would get from the
wall, it puts out a modified sine wave, whatever that means
so hopefully that's not an issue... hooray!
Isn't that a beautiful image
Now what's a spy car without a license plate flipper now unfortunately license
plate flippers are illegal so what we're actually going to do is
going to put a decorative license plate flipper on there while maintaining the
real license plate right here
the control box complete with remote control
all right so we've got all electronics in the trunk now and as you can see we
actually put a second car battery in the trunk as well and that's to power all of
our auxiliary spy gadgets but I think we're missing one thing
Ian yeah that's right a Hacksmith Industries branded fire extinguisher!
Alright now we can test it
Alright so inside the cigarette ashtray we can turn on the inverter like
so now it should lower
Thanks now we just plug in the projector like so until I open it right there and
if you put switch the other way up it goes
Adjust the mirror hey gotta turn lights off, lights!
not too bad all right that works pretty good now it's time to go on my date
Man, why did I pick such a far location to do the drive-in it's really boring
Wait a sec...
closed good thing I brought my own
Well, nothing beats an old drive-in movie theater especially when you bring it
wherever you want to go now time to watch my favorite youtuber
Alright that works pretty darn good this projector is 2500 lumens which is super
bright for a home theater projector it's recommended maximum screen size is 150
inches but even projecting a video on the entire side of a gray building it
was still completely watchable now for our final test we're gonna set up our
own proper size 150 inch screen in the park and have our own little drive-in
movie theater for the entire neighborhood let's get set up
all righty show's over
Alright that was awesome huge thank you to LG for sponsoring this project and if
you guys want to learn more about the CineBeam 4k laser projector check
out my links below it truly is an awesome projector as for our spy car
make sure you subscribed with notifications turned on, we will be adding jet engines
tire spikes, missiles, smoke screens, lasers and more very soon

Can You Be Both Financially Rich and Religious? - Duration: 12:14.
The combination...
Not just one or the other...
Yeah?
Because when you were mentioning the brother who didn't complete his a-levels yeah I mean
that's part of the combination and we want him to be successful religiously and we also
want him both to be successful in the dunya (world).
Right?
And so a lot of times you get one or the other.
You get the kinds of parents who insist on material success only.
So if the child wants to dedicate some time to Islamic studies the mother comes and tell
him: Son, what are you doing?
Don't become extreme, okay?
At first of all who said the word extreme right now?
Nobody's had the word extreme.
He's just going to the Masjid a few days you know maybe at class here or there.
Here or there.
But his mother comes: Don't be extreme, okay?
And don't go overboard in your religion please.
Just pray five times a day when Ramadan comes, fast.
And you know when you get old, go for Hajj.
Yeah, well this is now the bare minimum.
She wants the bare minimum from the religion.
It's interesting that you rarely find parents who want the bare minimum from the dunya.
So you never find this conversation were from a mother she'll come to her son and son he's
studying all night trying to get straight A's she'll come to him son: Why are you studying
all night?
Go to sleep.
Just go to sleep.
You don't have to work so hard.
So we're saying then imagine the mother comes in the boy studying really hard these.
He wants to get straight A's she comes in it's like: What are you doing?
And stop stop studying just just don't be don't go overboard with studies.
I just want you to get C's C pluses you know barely get by, get your GED or a levels or
o levels and just that's it don't don't pursue college anything like that get an entry-level
job with McDonald's.
Flip some hamburgers and that's it.
Don't go overboard.
You never get that kind of a advice, right?
Because when it comes to the dunya we want the maximum we want the maximum.
So the mother wants him to get the best grades and then to go university and then get his
master's degree then get his PhD then you get a big house and get a good car and with
religion a lot of times you find people they just want the bare minimum that's one extreme.
Then we have the other extreme where people basically they you know look everything all
this stuff is going to go and even if you have a car.
Are you gonna take your car with you to the akhirah (afterlife)?
No.
Are you gonna take your degree with you on the day of judgement?
No.
Is Allah going to ask you about your degree?
What did you study in the dunya?
No.
So what is the importance of all this?
Just a piece of paper.
Many times you meet duaat who be little what you do like I used to go to university and
you know some religious people would come in so: Years and years of your life you're
wasting just for this piece of paper.
Like...
Yes.
It's not just a piece of paper it's not like someone tore a comic book strip from the newspapers
and hey it's not just that.
Yeah?
So we're looking at keep a good balance between the two.
So we want the best of both worlds inshaallah.
Is there anything that says and this is very important especially for the young people
in the audience pay attention please.
Is there anything that says if because you're a super religious person you can't have a
nice car for example or you can't you shouldn't have a nice home you shouldn't have a degree?
I just want the person who says yes to this question I want to understand where did you
get that from, okay?
Where did you get that from?
And so many of the Sahaba were by our standards today and by that the standards back then
there were millionaires by today's standards.
Millionaires!
Not very wealthy but millionaires, okay?
Abu Bakr (ra) during one period of his life he was a millionaire by our standards.
Uthman Ibn Affan (ra) was a millionaire.
Abdur Rahman Ibn Awf...
Millionaire...
Okay, now with these millionaires they just live in luxury and like today's millionaires
they live in luxury and that's it everyone else wishes they had their money?
No.
Their millions helped Islam.
Their millions helped Islam tremendously.
During the Battle of Tabuk and Nabi (saw) needed people to donate it was a fundraiser
like we have fundraisers would someone get up say who will give a thousand who will give
2,000 like that.
It was a similar fundraiser and Nabi (saw) was would get up and He say: Who will prepare
the army of distress?
You know it was called the army of distress with difficulty.
Because it was a very difficult time to go out extremely difficult.
Who will prepare this army and he will have and to him will be in paradise.
So Uthman Ibn Affan (ra) would get up and he would donate a hundred camels.
Understand how much money that is?
You don't know how much a camel costs.
Of course you do, right?
You know what the monthly payments are on a camel?
You don't know but it's a lot of money.
So He got up (ra) He donated 100 camels now not just 100 camels he said with the ropes
everything needed they're ready to go.
So it's like I giving you a car with the keys, tire pressure is good, oil gas is in the tank.
Ready to go.
So then he then he sat down so now he got glad tidings of paradise, right?
Because Prophet (saw) promised him that.
I don't think your local fundraiser can say that.
Can he: Who will get five thousand pounds?
And to him will be paradise.
I would be like who's this guy exactly?
But then Prophet (saw) one more time asked: Who will prepare the army of distress?
And he will to him is paradise.
And Uthman Ibn Affan (ra) got up and he says: And I pledged another hundred ready to go
then he sat down.
Then Prophet (saw) asked again and the Uthman Ibn Affan (ra) got up again and it has narrated
he got up seven times in one narration ten times.
Ten times!
Imagine getting Paradise glad-tidings more than ten times or seven times.
We'll accept half, right?
We'll accept half brothers half is good.
One brother say: Just let me, just let me just put my foot in Paradise the other can
be out there at the gate.
Let's see what's going on hey hey look at those guys good enough for me he said.
So what we're trying to say here is that there's nothing wrong with being financially successful
and a lot of times at least in the dawah in the United States many times what's the problem
with it is that there's no money.
Especially in the old days.
Now communities are growing and they understand responsibilities things like that.
But in the old days with problems.
How many times there were some phenomenal projects we just needed a righteous and successful
dunya wise person like Uthman (ra) to come and say: Look what do you need?
Fifty thousand to distribute this material and to advertise and radio TV?
Here it is.
There you go.
But no brothers.
We need this, we need that...
What would you say if I told you a lot of duaat are like beggars.
For the most part for the longest time people involved in dawah were like beggars always
needing money always asking always begging pleading.
Is this something that people should beg for but suppose these people were you know successful
businesses or had good degrees.
Is there any problem there?
So I just want to make sure if any young people in the audience think that: Well, oh this
is not going to count in the next life and so on.
No, you can make it count in the next life.
You can take whatever you want with you to the next life.
Can you take your house with you to the next life?
Can you take your car with you to the next life?
Okay, you can.
I'm gonna show you how.
Okay?
Just like if you want to take you know well you guys have British pounds it's a respected
currency but suppose you guys had some flimsy currency, right?
And you want take it to another country you can't use it there unless you convert it into
a currency that will work there.
So I can take my laptop with me to the next life if I want to I just have to convert it
into a currency that will work there.
What currency works in the next life?
Hasanat.
Reward.
So I can convert my laptop in a number of ways to for to reward, right?
I can do good work with it do dawah work with it I can donate it to the masjid.
I can sell it and give them money here and there.
You understand where we're going with this?
So you can take things with you to the next life.
Yeah?
So you're for the righteous Muslim ok the righteous young man the righteous woman when
they are successful in this life inshallah naturally we'll translate into good things
for the next life as well.
We want the righteous people to be millionaires who will use their wealth properly for the
sake of Allah (swt) relief ma'am check comes out some project ready.
So we do want both successes in case anyone was confused be righteous person and be successful
in this life as well.
And many times even because we have this thought it's very predominant in our society but because
it's so predominant that we actually expect the Imam to have a broken up car.
Ok?
To live in a busted-up apartment and you guys expect that?
I hope it's not the case in the UK but in the US for example people want the Imam to
drive a 1980s camry.
And it's always an 87 camry and it has holes in it from the rust.
Ok?
And it smells that car that's the Imams car.
I personally know an Imam who bought a luxury car.
Luxury SUV.
You call them SUVs here?
4x4 is that what you call them?
Fantastic.
He had a 4x4 and when he bought it...
How...
What kind of an Imam drives a nice car?
So you what's happening here?
We accept for everyone else to be respected and respectable except for the guy who works
for Allah.
Oh, you're a doctor?
Oh, no wonder that explains the Mercedes.
You're an engineer?
That explains the Porsche.
But you're an Imam and you're driving a nice car...
I'm sorry I'm confused here.
Why?
Because the one who works for Allah he should you know treat him like dirt.
Kick him on it.
Who cares, he works for Allah (awj).
Kick him.
Open the door kick him out.
Let him stand out in the cold he works for Allah.
The guy who works for Allah should be respected more than anybody else.
That we want our Imam to have a busted-up car.
So some people start to accuse that manner of stealing from the Masjid.
Why?
Because he has a nice car.
Everyone else can have a nice car in the community no one will accuse them of stealing.
But the Imam?
Why does he have a nice car?
So what message that we sending our youth?
Be a doctor drive a Mercedes be an Imam 1987 Camry it's a good future for you.
Young man looks at both cars: I'll become a doctor inshaallah.
I'll still be a good guy and pray but I don't want to be like this guy.
Yeah?
So I know at the time one Imam he bought a car.
It was a Mercedes, right?
He's an Imam he's young but he bought a Mercedes.
One of the board members of the Masjid comes to his house and sits with him and says: How
could you buy a nice car?
He actually said this thing.
He said: You should be a role model and drive a busted-up car.
Wait a minute.
Role model?
I should drive a busted-up car?
Okay, when I had a busted-up car did you sell your car and drive a busted-up car?
No.
How am I a role model then?
This is a very strange mentality.
So where...
The guy who works for Allah kick him in the teeth.
It doesn't matter.
He works for Allah.
Look at him he works for Allah you work at McDonald's they respect you more.
You get injured working in McDonald's they pay for you they take care of you until you
come back to.
You work you work for Allah (awj) you fall from a ladder getting some dawah books from
the top shelf brother Kerry has broken body outside.
What's wrong with you brother?
We want the best of both worlds.
So if you're an up-and-coming religious brother yes get good grades get A's, okay?
Oh, no, no.
Because I have a beard over three inches long I'll just get C inshaallah.
Because you know this dunya (world) no Habibi get good grades.
Work hard.
Become successful in both inshaallah.
But with your religious and successful inshaallah that money will be used to take you into paradise.
All right?

Why You Can't Trust Anyone (And Why You Don't Have To) - Duration: 18:58.
Hey guys, It's time to get on my soapbox again.
And this time, I want to talk to you about the proliferation of "fake news" around
the globe today, why this is so frustrating, and… why it's actually a good thing.
That's right, you heard me!
The fake news phenomenon is serving you.
Stay tuned to find out how.
Ok, so I get a lot of questions from clients and readers about them having been betrayed
by someone.
Perhaps a cheating spouse, or a best friend who lied, or they found out that they couldn't
count on someone in the way they thought they could.
And, as you may have noticed, that feeling is being amplified at the moment by stuff
that's happening all around the world.
We can't trust the media anymore, what with all the fake news.
Of course, fake news has always existed, but isn't just bubbling up in the consciousness
now?
We can't trust our politicians, and no that's not a huge revelation.
But I feel like until fairly recently, we've all kind of made a joke out of the fact that
politicians are untrustworthy.
We kind of always expected them to lie.
But we also expected them to have our backs when it comes to the BIG stuff.
There was this unspoken agreement that they could get away with some things, but not too
much, and they shouldn't abuse the privilege.
Kind of like letting your teenager drink a beer at a summer BBQ, with the agreement that
this doesn't mean he now has cart blanche to go and get shitfaced every night.
Only, of course, our politicians have been secretly getting shitfaced pretty much 24/7,
and now we've got some raging alcoholics on our hands, that aren't really in touch
with reality anymore, and like any addict, will pretty much say anything just to get
you to leave them alone, so they can keep drinking, or snorting, or making backroom
deals that screw their constituents, but give them the sweet, sweet hit of power without
any sense of responsibility.
(I did warn you this was going to be a soap boxy one).
Let's move on.
We can't trust the scientists anymore!
Sweet, sweet science!
And I'm not saying that we can't trust SCIENCE, I'm saying we can't trust the
scientists.
Again, this is all bubbling up now.
In recent years we've found out that we're being lied to by the pharmaceutical companies
(surprise!), by our doctors, by publicity hungry "scientists" that care more about
the headline than the accuracy of their data.
Studies are routinely falsified, or just left out of results if they don't match the desired
and pre-determined conclusion.
That's not science, by the way.
Now, I'm not saying that all politicians, journalists, or scientists are bad or dishonest
people.
What I'm saying is that we have no real way of knowing if they're being honest.
But what we have figured out is that we can't just take their word for it.
We can't take anyone's word for it.
Now, don't worry, I can hear those of you who have a real problem with this statement.
"Of course we can take their word for it!" you might be shouting at the screen now.
"We have institutions and degrees to ensure we know who knows what they're talking about.
We have credentialed experts!
Of course we can trust them!"
So, let me ask you this: Who credentialed those experts?
What criteria did they use to give those credentials?
What is your criteria for what makes someone truly "qualified"?
Is that THEIR criteria?
Let me tell you a little story: When I worked in the Technology sector, I had a policy of
only hiring people who actually knew what they were doing, regardless of certifications
or formal qualifications.
Many people with top certifications applied.
But when we interviewed them properly, using real world examples and scenarios, they didn't
actually know what they were doing.
They had passed a test, but they hadn't passed OUR test.
It turns out that in the Technology field, those with a bunch of qualification often
spent their time getting qualified, while others actually learned their craft.
It also turns out you can't learn how to patch together a server that went out at 3
in the morning from a book.
That comes from experience in the field, from actually doing the job.
Now, qualifications can be useful, but they told us very little about the candidates'
actual skill level.
We had to take the time to really test people ourselves to make sure that we hired the skillset
we really wanted.
I've seen this strategy of relying on an outside authority to qualify someone's skill
or knowledge fail again and again.
Because, quite frankly, it's lazy.
We just want someone else to do it.
"You tell me if they're alright, and I'll just go with that."
And of course, that makes sense.
It IS a lot easier to do that.
And when it comes to stuff that doesn't really matter that much, it's just fine.
To start…
But what it leads to is us getting disappointed over and over.
Us feeling betrayed over and over.
Because we trusted that outside authority, and they let us down.
Over and over.
That's like if you need a plumber, and your brother in law, who knows all about plumbing,
recommends someone.
And that plumber turns out to be crap.
But you keep on asking your brother in law for more recommendations anyway.
Or even worse, you keep hiring that plumber because, well, he MUST be good.
He's got your brother in law's stamp of approval.
So maybe you're the one being difficult or unreasonable.
Until one day, you're standing in your house, flooded with water, with open pipes sticking
out all over the place, wondering how it could come to this…
It came to this because you outsourced your decision making.
Now, the concept I'm about to explain is not an easy one.
But it is powerful, and profound and it will set you free.
If you have a bit of an issue with manipulation in your life, this will help a great deal.
Ready?
Ok.
Like I said, it's all about NOT outsourcing your decision making.
And I get it.
Making all your own decisions sounds overwhelming.
You're probably imagining researching everyone you meet, everyone you might want to engage
with, having to know every detail of every issue.
Oh, and I guess you'd better start doing your own scientific experiments!
You know, just to be sure.
Because you can't trust anyone.
But that's not entirely true.
Now I know, the title of this video is "Why you can't trust anyone…".
But there is one person you can trust.
And that person has access to wisdom greater than you can comprehend.
That person has a built in bullshit detector that can instantly flag any bit of inauthenticity.
That person has a built in guidance system that lets them know what is the right decision
for them, no matter what the data says.
That person is you.
Now, you might be thinking "What?!
I have a bullshit detector?
You must be talking about someone else Melody, because I've been fooled by many a liar!
I'm a total sucker!
They don't even have to be good liars, I fall for it almost every time!"
Yes, even you.
Even you who has been bamboozled time and time again have a bullshit detector.
You have a guidance system.
Now, I didn't say you were good at USING them.
That takes training and a bit of practice.
Well, it wouldn't take training if you hadn't been trained OUT of using these abilities,
but since you were trained out of it, we all were, it takes a bit of training to get them
back full force.
Ok, so you don't have to go and learn everything about everything.
And it doesn't mean that you can never read a scientific study that was performed by anyone
other than you, personally.
Or that you can't believe anything that anyone says, ever again.
You can delegate the gathering of data.
You can accept that raw data from any source that offers it.
In other words, you can accept data from any direction in your life, from any person, any
resource, even any institution.
But what you can't delegate or outsource is your decision making.
Which data you accept as valid or not.
Which source you accept as "qualified" or not.
And most importantly, which conclusion you're going for.
And when you know how to do this, you don't have to be able to trust anyone, ever again.
No one will be able to betray you.
Because you don't be trusting them.
You'll be trusting yourself.
And when you can do that 100%, no one can lie to you.
You can't be led astray.
You can't be betrayed.
You can only ever betray yourself.
So, I've got 2 techniques for you.
One's a little milder than the other; it depends on where you're at in your journey.
So, don't think you have to do both of these.
Just listen to them, let them wash over you and see which one or ones resonate with you.
This is how you'll develop the skills you need so that you can trust yourself and your
own inner guidance.
The first tip I want to share with you is: Qualify the information, not the source.
So, all the data bombarding you from all sides, take a look at the information itself, and
discern if it resonates with you, vs. just trusting that it will, because it came from
a "trusted source".
As we've already figured out, we can't really trust anyone.
We can't ever really guarantee that they actually know what they're doing or that
they'll have integrity in what they do.
Which means, some people we trust will sometimes give us bogus information, for whatever reason,
some innocent, some not, and people we totally distrust can also occasionally tell us the
truth.
So, we should regard or disregard something someone says just because of who they are.
Take a look at what they're saying.
Take a look at what they're doing.
And just because they did one thing that was good, don't just dismiss the next thing
they do that's bad.
And this doesn't mean you have to be hypervigilant.
Just make up your own mind as much as possible.
Question your assumptions.
Question what you've been accepting as true, which you never really made your own decisions
on.
You simply accepted someone else's decisions.
I'll give you a cute and funny example because this video is in danger of getting a little
bit too heavy and I haven't taken you all the way to a good feeling place yet.
But don't worry, I will.
So, a couple of years ago, I discovered the feather duster.
It's not that I didn't know they existed, but not in my immediate reality.
I'd never used one, owned one, or even seen one used.
So, one day, I saw one at the store and was inspired to buy it.
I figured it would make it easier to clean off hard to reach places like the tops of
ceiling fans.
Well, when I got home and unpacked it, a whole different world opened up to me.
One where I could dust my whole house in minutes.
You see, I'd been taught by my German upbringing, that it wasn't clean until you'd scrubbed
it within an inch of its life, and then doused with water.
So dusting in my house was done with a bucket of water, some kind of cleaner, and loads
of elbow grease.
I had been taught that this was the only way to really clean, and I accepted that as truth.
There was our way of doing it, and then there was living in filth.
But then, I discovered the feather duster.
It cleaned perfectly well.
Ok, I didn't clean the toilet bowl with it, but in terms of dusting, it did a great
job.
It was quick, it was easy and it was fun!
It totally defied what I'd been taught.
You see, for me, the older women in my family were the authority on cleaning.
They were THE authority on cleaning.
So, nothing anyone else said ever held as much weight.
If they disagreed with the whole scrubbing things till they disintegrate, they just didn't
truly understand cleanliness, the way we did.
I had to accept this new data, and it allowed me to let go of doing things the way I'd
been taught, simply because I assumed that must be the best way.
Because surely, my grandmother, my great-grandmother, my great-great-grandmother, all tested every
possible product and method available to clean stuff and came up with the best possible way,
right?
RIGHT?
Only, of course not!
First of all, they didn't even have access to all the products and technology we have
today, I mean, I doubt they'd even heard of the Swiffer, but they were simply doing
what had been taught to them.
It wasn't the best way.
It was the only way that was offered.
You have the ability to figure things out for yourself, just like I figured out that
there was a perfectly legitimate and effective alternative to scrubbing everything like a
scullery maid.
And I know this seems like a silly little example, but I think it perfectly illustrates
just how trapped we can become in our assumptions that the one way we know is the best way,
which is what happens when we put more stock in whom the information came from than the
information itself.
Ok, so my second tip for you is to never assume there are a limited number of options for
outcomes or solutions.
At a deeper level, this is all about duality, and that's something that's coming up
in a big, big way right now.
Everything is being boiled down to black or white, good or bad, right or wrong.
We're always trying to make things fit into one side or the other.
And, we've always done that, but we're just now seeing how big of a problem that
actually is.
Because when we assume that the options we've been presented with by the authorities or
experts are the "right" ones, we exclude any other conclusions or solutions, including
the solution we might want.
DON'T let someone else tell you what's possible, especially if what they're presenting
to you, if what they're saying is possible, doesn't feel right to you.
This is a manipulation tactic!
"You must choose between A and B!"
"But wait…", you might say, "I don't like either one of those!".
"Well, you must choose between A and B!
There are no other options!"
And so, you get all stressed trying to decide which is the least bad option, A or B. Or,
you could decide that the whole premise of having to choose between A and B is wrong.
Why says?
If you don't like either option, start defining what you do want, and start looking for an
option that supports that.
Assume that an option like that is out there, because it always is.
You couldn't even manifest the thought that it might be if it wasn't.
So, once again.
You're not just accepting information as true.
You're questioning assumptions and authorities, and you're thinking for yourself.
And yes, I can the objections again.
If we can't trust anyone, and we can't trust the authorities, won't society break
down?
Well, look around!
Society is already breaking down.
You see, so much of how we live is predicated on a trickle down system.
Someone at the top, some expert, authority or person clearly smarter and more qualified
than us, has all the facts and the info.
And they will share with the rest of us idiots as appropriate and as we can handle it.
Which of course they will, and it will never be to our detriment, because they only have
our best interests at heart.
And this is how it's been, because we've allowed it to be so.
We've accepted it.
"Oh, you're right.
Little old me can't possibly comprehend the fabricated and totally unnecessary complexity
of these issues, so you just go ahead and tell me what to do."
And now, we're waking up to the idea that we don't want others making decisions for
us.
It's like humanity is finally growing up.
As we grow up, as we mature, we all hit a point, or multiple points, where we come to
the realization that we'll never be happy in a situation unless we decide for ourselves
how we feel, what we want, and what's possible.
So, the journey to being able to trust yourself fully may be a little bit bigger than you
imagined, but it doesn't have to take that long.
It does take a little bit of re-education and practice.
I'm doing my best to provide that education here, but the practice is up to you.
Here is what I CAN tell you, but of course don't take my word for it, discern for yourself
how this feels: if you begin the process of thinking for yourself, gathering data, evaluating
the data instead of the source, making decisions based on what feels better, and not accepting
foregone conclusions that don't feel right to you, you're going to learn pretty quickly
that your life gets a lot better.
That you drop a lot of stuff that drains your energy.
You'll no longer do stuff you don't really want to do, just because, well, that's how
it's always been done.
You won't be pressured into making a decision that doesn't serve you, simply because someone
else said you have no other choice.
You'll never have to be scared that someone you love will betray you, because you'll
make every decision based on your own inner guidance, and not just because they told you
to.
You'll no longer be making anyone else responsible for your happiness, for your success, and
for your reality.
And then, you'll finally be free.
So, let me know in the comments, if this video was helpful for you.
What parts of this awakening process are you struggling with?
These videos are often inspired by someone's question in the comments, so let me know yours.

Man Utd news: Only one manager can replace Jose Mourinho if he was sacked - Hislop - Duration: 2:47.
In fact, Hislop reckons Germany boss Joachim Low is the only manager who could take over from Mourinho at Old Trafford
Mourinho has cut an unhappy figure at Manchester United in recent months and especially during this pre-season
The Portuguese was clearly dissatisfied with the club's transfer business during a press-conference over the weekend and was not happy to have such few first-team players to pick from for the International Champions Cup tournament
Hislop believes it would be too expensive for United to pay off Mourinho just yet and is not 100 per cent certain Low would want the Red Devils job
"Personally, I think, he sees out the year," the former West Ham goalkeeper said
"It's too expensive to let him go at this point. Yes they do (have enough money) but I think there are too things working here for Jose Mourinho in terms of staying on until the end of the season
"It's too expensive and as of right now, I'm not sure there is a ready-made replacement for Jose Mourinho
"You look at big-name managers who are available and can step into this job, the only one that really jumps to mind is Jogi Low
Is he the man? Does he want to take over the club? "I think there are a lot of question marks on his side over whether that's the answer to Manchester United's woes
" Hislop also admits he was never a fan of Mourinho becoming the manager at Old Trafford
He added: "But one thing's for certain - from the get go, I have never been convinced that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United has been a good fit and this kind of emphasises that
"Manchester United has always been about the style of the game, you don't see that under Jose
"It's always been about bringing through young players, well he's just shot himself in the foot with that one

When can Kate Middleton wear trousers? The Duchess of Cambridge is rarely seen wearing trousers or j - Duration: 2:41.
Kate Middleton is one of the biggest fashion icons in the UK, and has been since she married Prince William and became the Duchess of Cambridge
Being part of the royal family, the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, is expected to follow certain style and fashion guidelines
Many believe one of these is that Meghan Markle 's sister-in-law is not allowed to wear trousers or jeans to royal engagements
So when can Kate wear trousers? Is there a royal rule forbidding it? Or is she simply more drawn to dresses and skirts
As far as we can tell, there is not a royal rule which says females in the royal family can't dress in trousers, as Kate and Meghan have done it several times
However, the reason we rarely see the Duchess in trousers is believed to simply be down to preference
Usually at royal events, Kate will opt for a dress or a coat, or even a top with a skirt
There has been a few occasions the Duchess has worn trousers, but mostly due to an event being sporty, or a little less formal than others
For example, earlier this year, Kate and Wills took off to Sweden for a royal visit where they attended a hockey match
For the event, the Duchess wore black trousers and snow boots, with a black coat and a wooly hat
It's not just sporty events the Duchess dresses down for though, as Kate is also known for making a smart trouser or dark jean looks classy and formal
In June 2017, Kate attended the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre. For the event, she teamed a pair of fitted navy trousers with a white blazer and plaid kitten heels
But what do you think, would you like to see Kate wear trousers more? Or do you prefer her in dresses? Have your say in our poll above

What to Do If You Can No Longer Work - Duration: 4:29.
Hey veterans, Travis Studdard, veterans disability attorney here.
I wanted to follow up on a video I recently did regarding TDIU benefits after quitting
your job.
And the thought that came to me was regarding when you are quitting a position; many veterans
don't always come totally clean on the reason for that with their employer.
Many times, when someone is leaving a position, they say, "I'm leaving for a better opportunity.
I want to try something new."
Sometimes, they say, "I'm retiring."
And those are all things I've seen with veterans who simply were no longer able to do it.
They had to hang it up.
They couldn't keep continuing on in their work because of their service-connected disabilities.
But they didn't have that conversation with their employer.
Again, they gave one of these generic reasons, and I think many times that's because they
just don't have a very close relationship with that employer or that supervisor.
They don't feel like it's anybody else's business sometimes.
There's a lot of disabilities that we don't want others to know about.
Sometimes, veterans are embarrassed.
Sometimes, they've been able to hide their depression, their PTSD, or other disability,
and they don't want anyone that they work with to know about that.
But then, after they stop work, they turn around and file for unemployability benefits.
Well, VA's going to be contacting that employer, and one of the questions they're going to
ask is the reason that the employment ended.
And if you've given them no real basis that's related to your service-connected disabilities,
they're not going to be able to share that with the VA.
And that may be a detriment to you in trying to prove TDIU.
So again, this is not the situation when someone is fired.
That employer is saying, "Well, they had outbursts of anger.
They couldn't follow rules.
They were less productive."
And those can all be tied to potentially a service-connected disability.
But if you're leading that employer down a different path and not giving them the true,
honest reason for that, then just realize that may come back later in your VA disability
claim.
So if at all possible, I would urge you to be as open and honest as you can about that
with your employer and the reasons why you're no longer able to do that.
Give them specifics.
It may be specifics as to why you're no longer able to continue in the fashion that you've
done it in the past.
There may be situations where an employer values you so much and has some flexibility.
They may be able to accommodate you.
They may be able to modify your position with the company so that you're able to continue
working.
And obviously, there's huge benefits there to you from a financial standpoint if you
can continue on with your employment and still receive some form of VA disability benefits,
even if it's not TDIU.
So again, that may be a way to do it where you don't even have to quit at all.
But they're not going to be able to even have a conversation with you or later relay any
information to VA as far as why your service-connected disabilities were an obstacle for you.
So keep that in mind.
Again, these videos are in no way suggesting to you that you quit your job and file for
TDIU.
Unfortunately, it's not that simple.
This is a very difficult and complicated type of VA disability claim.
I'm simply giving you the information that I give to other veterans when they ask me,
which is in the other video, can I quit my job and still be eligible or am I somehow
barred from TDIU.
And then I wanted you to avoid, if you do get in that situation of needing to stop,
avoid making the same mistake that some other veterans have where they say, "Oh, I'm just
going to retire.
I no longer want to work."
or whatever, and they don't relate it in any form or fashion to their service-connected
disability.
So keep that in mind.
