And to my recent involvement on that platform
I started noticing this things and they really caught my
And today I will be talking to you, about of the most common scams that you´ll face on instagram.
Instagram is a social media platform young people uses to self promote
By uploading their pictures, uploading makeup videos like I do
Or anything related to self promote, and there is nothing wrong with that, that is the purpose of that platform
But, there are individuals, or companies ready to take advantage of innocent people, and scam them
And today I´m exposing two of the scams very common in instagram
The first one is the Sponsorship Scam
In this Scam first you´re going to be approached by a company representative
They make you assume they are going to give you a free set of sunglasses, swimsuit
Any article fashion related
They would offer you then, a free article
And free promotion in their social media accounts, amazing more than a hundred thousand subscribers
once they catch your attention
And you show them interest
They will invite you to their website to fill a very simple form to provide them with your email
So Here I'm going to show you, the application form from each site
this is the first one

I did contacted this website, and I´ll show you more info
And this is the third site, that I found about, I´m sure there are many others
Basically the application form on the three is the same, and the information is very similar
Once they have your email, they'll send you an email with all the sponsorship information
Basically you're not getting any free items
You have to purchase an item, they will provide a discount code
So you are initiated into the affiliate program, and you´re advertised in their social media
Checking out this three company eye wear catalogs,
You'll realize that the articles they sell are very similar and also have similar prices
I wouldn't be surprised if this company's were run by the same people
checking their catalogs I also found, that they were selling some glasses I bought from a friend
She buys in bulk and resales at very affordable prices, she sells this kind of glasses, bracelets, things like that
This are the glasses I got from my friend, they are exactly the same from the ones they have on display
Another very odd thing, is that all this sites have a very very similar catalog
And the same prices, so as I said before this make me think
That this companies might be run by the same people
So once you make a purchase of this items with a discount code they provide you
They make you an "Affiliate"
then you have to wait 2 to 3 business days to your product to arrive, given their information
But this is completely false, while investigating this companies, and their costumer service
I found that, your articles will take from 4 to six weeks to arrive
They will be sent directly from China, and not from The USA, which is also weird
So analyzing all this information, I started to investigate even more on internet
And ended up at Alibaba.com, and I'm going to show you what interesting things I found
OK, Ladies and Gentleman, and here is were things turn really fun
We are at the Alibaba.com site, and here you can observe that this are the same glasses
that we saw on the sites with an estimate cost of 60 dollars
This Manufacturer
Sells this glases for 2 dollars a piece if you buy from 200 to 999 units
And if you buy a thousand or more units the price drops to 1.50 a piece
But let´s say I want to buy an smaller quantity
So we go to aliexpress.com
Here you can buy an unit for $10.77
But, let's say I want to buy to resell
So we also have this website called Dhgate.com
And here you can see that if you want to buy to resell
You can find this item between $8.25 to $6.68
If you buy an unit it costs $8.25
If you buy 5 you get a $0.24 discount
If you buy 10 units you´ll be paying $7.60 per unit
If you buy 40 units or more you´ll pay $6.92
If you buy from 135 units or more you pay $6.68
Let´s check another set of glasses, on this sites, I liked this glasses for myself
This were the supposed ones which I would acquire for the sponsorship
and that I told them I was interested in, and they are selling them in $59
Here we have the same glasses at dhgate.com between $2.32 and $12 per piece
This means that If you buy a pair, you pay 12 dollars
But if you buy 3 pairs, you pay $6.86 per pair
If you buy 10 pairs you pay $3.09 a pair
This means that if you buy 10 pairs
you pay $30.90 +Shipping, of course
and this is what more of less you'd be paying in this company with the provided discount code
And if you don't have a discount code, it is cheaper to buy the 10 pairs to the wholesaler than buying on this sites
And here I´ll show you they have all the same colors available
So after they sell you an overpriced item
And buying and reselling has nothing wrong as long as you're not ripping off your costumers
It's Ok to resell and make a decent profit, but without overpricing the items you sell
and scamming others
So once you bought and received this article, with discount, and even overpriced
They ask you to take a picture, so they can use it to "promote you on their instagram"
An instagram profile that is going to have hundreds of thousand followers
and the majority of this followers are bot accounts, what does this all mean?
They offered you to post your picture in their social media,
In order to promote you your instagram profile
This is the so called motive for that "alliance"
This is one of this accounts, and I´m going to show you
And I'm not saying that all the accounts are fake
But the majority of the accounts must be fake
and I'm going to show you examples, of how to know if it's a fake account, for example this one
one is fake, let's see it, it has only seven posts, all unrelated
let´s see this other one
only 4 posts
Makes me think it´s a fake account, as well
So you more or less know, when it is a real person
or if it is a fake account
This may be a fake account, has very little posts
we are giving it the benefit of the doubt, because it´s the same person
on all the pictures
So after they scammed you, and took your $20 to $30
And that you didn't receive any real promotion
They are going to use your picture to promote their site
and keep catching new victims
Because most of their followers are fake, but the pictures they are posting are
from real people with real instagram profiles
Makes the business seem legit, but it is not
I recommend you, to be very careful, when you´re contacted by a business to do a instagram"promotion"
Because when is too good to be true, it must be a scam
And now we jump to the second instagram scam, has also to do with promotion
But the procedure is this
And in this second type of scam, you are also going to be reached on your instagram profile
This other account is going to say that loves your pictures, and that they have an instagram account
With hundreds of thousand followers
and that they want to promote you, so just send the picture you want them to use via DM
Once you reply and send the photo, you want to be promoted with
This profile is going to supply a fee in order to promote your photo on their profile
And again with a hundred thousand followers, but if you investigate account by account
you´ll be finding lots of fake accounts
Also this account to seem legit, will also do posts
to "promote" people that doesn't need their promotion
They promote other instagram profiles of very famous people
With a lot of success
To make this whole thing see legit
So i decided to make an small experiment, to investigate this account
I picked a ramdom picture from a person I could tell is not this big influencer account
but it's a girl that is looking to grow like me, and wants to promote herself.
so we are here in this profile, I'm going to show you the random picture I picked
I picked this photo several days ago, to give it time
to see if her instagram profiles shows some growth
As you can see this instagram account is "promoting" people like Khloe Kardashian
Like Nikkie Tutorials, Make up by Alina
People with millions of followers
I lluvsarahii, as I just showed you, they have a ton of followers
and more followers than this account and they don´t need their promotion
So
This is the picture I picked
Maybe this other girl paid, it has 700 likes
But just two comments
It means this account has no engagement
Makes me believe there are alot of bots following this account
when you don´t have lot´s of comment there must be a lot of bots
So this is the picture I picked
this picture was uploaded a week ago to this profile
Let´s see then if she had any growth since then
This is her account, as you can see it's legit
She probably paid the 15 dollar fee
and she just haves 148 followers
It means that since her photo was promoted she didn't get any growth on her profile
I recommend you if you want to promote your instagram profile
Do it directly with instagram
You pick the photo you want to promote and instagram targets this photo as an add to a demographic you choose
This way you´re making sure your picture gets to be seen by real people
Because it is going to appear as an add
