I'm not home. The fridge is on behind me so it's making noise.
There's things behind me and it's distracting
but I want to make this really quick video because I'm not home and this is important because it's relevant to my
travel plans!
A lot of people in the last couple of weeks have been asking, "Chase, where you traveling to?
You're talking about all these talks you're gonna be doing all around America. Where are you going? Talk to me."
So I'm here to talk to you.
I will also say this is my third time attempting to film this video.
Every time I film it it's like 13 minutes
And I'm really trying to make it way less than that.
So I will do that that. This is the time huntys that I make it less than that.
The reason it's so long is because these are all the places that I'm traveling to and these are all the flights that I'm taking so I'm
going to go through first the talks that I'm doing and then I'm going to go through all of the places that I will be
going in holding meetups. So if you live anywhere in the United States
And if you live anywhere in Europe pay attention to this video because those are the two places that I'm going
Unfortunately to Canada now right now. Maybe doing a meet-up. Maybe in May in Toronto again
Maybe not sure about that, but that's a big, maybe. Yes, also. Sorry my face is red

February 27th I will be going to SUNY, Fredonia. I don't know if that's how you say it, but it's near Buffalo
March 15th
I will be going Amherst College which is in Amherst, Massachusetts.
March 22nd I will be at the Ohio State University. I don't know why that just sounds so fancy. That's March 22nd, yeah.
April 10th. I'll be in Northampton, ENGLAND!
I'm going to England. I'm coming. I'm going! So many people in Europe are like, "Come to us."
And I'm saying Europe because I am going to other places
But I'll talk about that when I tell you about my meetups.

Finally May 3rd. I will be going to University of Montana
Montana-so random. I'm also going to be speaking at the University of Virginia, but I'm not sure about the date yet
I'm pretty sure that is gonna be in the middle of May probably around there, so

So here's my list of places that I'm going to those arrows are flights that I'm taking okay
So I'm gonna look at my book. I'm not being rude. I promise okay, so I am currently not home
I'm going to Buffalo. I will not have a meet-up in Buffalo unfortunately
I feel like I am too frazzled all over the place, but usually after my talk at SUNY Fredonia
What happens is that people come up to me after and we can talk we can hang out take pictures do all that fun stuff.
So, that's basically a meet-up that we do after my talk
and that's gonna happen with every single one of my talks that I just kind of
talked about all of them will have "meet-up type" meet and greet type things
after the talk so we get to talk and stuff like that.
So before my talk in Amherst, Massachusetts, I am going to Boston, which means I will have a meet-up in Boston
I don't know the exact date yet, but I'm going to say I believe it is going to be on March 14th
I don't know where honestly if you know of any place
That would be cool to meet up in Boston like I don't know if it's gonna be warm or not

I'm only traveling with one backpack okay
I know a lot of people at the meetups and stuff like that like to give me gifts and like to give me letters and
Stuff like that. Unfortunately, I cannot take anything big with me back. I can take letters that's no problem
I am only traveling with one backpack. A lot of these budget airlines that I'm flying, especially in Europe, are very cheap
But you have to pay a lot of money if you have luggage so I'm literally only one backpack
That's it and I don't have extra room for anything else
And I feel really bad saying that. And I feel like maybe it sounds cocky like I'm expecting something
I promise you I'm not expecting anything, but I'm just warning you
I won't be able to take anything with me. If you have been waiting 12 years or something to give me something and it's a
bit bigger I'll find a way to ship it or you could just ship it to me
We'll figure it out that way
But I'm just letting you know in this video that I can only take paper because I'm only traveling with one backpack.
Okay, let's get to it!
So first of all I will be going to Paris, France. I'll be in Paris from March 25th
Fifth, okay? To the 29th, so I will be having a meet-up
I believe that meet up is actually on the 25th of March
We're going to a trans friendly bar which is ironic because I actually don't drink, but whatever that's fine.
I would like to do another meetup also in in Paris
That would be really cool
And if you or anyone you know live in actual Paris. Like I know that some people live like right outside the city
I like I want to be in the city, so I'm not staying very long at these places
I want to like experience it. So if you live IN the actual city of Paris
Where all of the stuff is happening
And you have a couch for me to sleep on I will gladly take that couch. If not that's fine. That's no problem
I can't get myself a hotel or a hostel unfortunately because I need to cook for myself
Because of all my stomach and dietary issues. I'm not like low fodmap
I can't eat anything anymore, so I need to cook for myself
So I will need a kitchen so I'll probably end up getting myself an Airbnb if I can't find anyone in those cities
Which is why if anybody would like to host me that would be great
I love staying with people because I get to hear your story
I get to see how your life is and how things are in your city and in your country
I think that's super fun super interesting and I do that all the time
So I would absolutely love to do that so let me know

And I've technically been to Germany I went to Hamburg Airport and Frankfurt Airport, but I didn't actually leave the airport
So it doesn't really count, but I will be in Berlin so again
I don't have anywhere to stay yet, but if you have somewhere for me to stay
But I have a place to host a meeting and meet a meeting a meet-and-greet of hang out, whatever
It's gonna be at an art gallery. I will put all the information below

So I'm going to be there from April 5th until April 9th, and yes, I will be having a meet-up also these dates
I haven't booked those like cheap airline flights yet, so like they're not 100 percent
But these are like the windows that I'm giving myself

I'm doing a talk there, and then I will be going to London afterwards.

I would have actually stayed in Europe a lot longer like two months longer no joke
I would have gone all around Europe, but I am I'm in my friend's wedding
So I had to come back and be in his wedding
Which is fine because I am kind of planning on maybe going back to Europe in September and doing a longer trip with the friend
Which would be really awesome!
Alright and I am doing a talk in the beginning of May in Montana
And I will have a meet-up there
I don't know the information
But that would be really cool because Montana is so random and that would be really cool to have a meet-up
So that is basically all of that summed up into all of this
And I'm literally only home for like I think 19 days out of the back next three months. It's crazy. I'm super excited!

March 2018 Bullet Journal Setup / Plan With Me - Simple & Minimalist - Duration: 6:55.
hi everyone and thanks for joining me for another bullet journal setup video
for the month of March 2018 as you can see I lost a tiny bit of footage of me
drawing out this three s for the monthly title page it's a nice and simple design
though so you honestly didn't miss much at all in my last video I asked what
theme I should go for this month and I had some really great ideas but overall
I decided to go for a botanical floral theme I did one similar last year and I
really liked it but it was also because May is popular for florals and I kind of
wanted to allocate that month to murmee instead which is all things oceans and
mermaids for anyone who has watched my previous bullet journaling videos you'll
see that I like to keep things fairly simple with clean layouts but you can
choose to do anything that makes you happy
I tried something different for my monthly overview keeping all the dates
in the vertical column in the center and then leaving space for adding
appointments and reminders on either side next up is my sleep tracker I
didn't have one of these for last month but I really think that it would have
helped lately I've been a bit all over the place with my sleep and I think that
this tracker will help me narrow down a more consistent routine there's an AM
and PM labels to divide up the 24 hour range so I'll be able to log any naps
that I might be able to sneak in during the day as well I think that this is a
good idea if you suffer from migraines too I get them a lot and I've found that
if my sleep is disjointed or lacking then they tend to occur more often
on to the habit tracker now I moved away from the horizontal layout and I did a
vertical one instead if you want to check out last month's bullet journal
setup video I'll leave a link in the top right-hand corner for you that way
you'll be able to see what I was using last month and this time I've written
the things that I want to track at the top of the page and there still hits a
space if I decide to add anything else later on on the next page I like to plot
out a general overview of the goals and reminders for the month you'll see that
there's a header call to do and in that one I like to include the things that
need to be done but don't have a particular day or time this way I can
write them in there and then I can go ahead and allocate it to a specific day
afterwards alright so how did everyone go for reaching their goals for February
I'm happy to report that I reached one of them how many to read two books that
I had been meaning to get around to I've also kept that as a goal for March two
so hopefully I can keep up a good reading habit if you like go ahead and
let me know in the comments down below what goals that you have for March as
well I find it so much less daunting to approach goals on a monthly basis so I'd
love to know what yours are I carried the botanical theme through the pages
with some random flower drawings here and there nothing too overpowering
because again I like that cleaner look
now I'm going to set up my monthly calendar for March and again it's super
simple and minimal and if you're stuck for how to do yours you really can't go
wrong with this one there's enough space in each box to do
some pre-planning and it was really quick to draw out
I also added in some illustrations and I'm really happy with how simple it is
now we're on to the first week of March which is a half week again if you've
seen my previous videos I like to do this spread four half weeks where the
days are contained on the left and then I have a nice decorative page on the
right I have done this video a little differently for this month normally
you'll see me draw up every weekly spread before finishing it off with a
gratitude log but this time I'm going to experiment and purposely only drop one
weekly spread and see if I'd like to leave some blank spaces afterwards for
note-taking ideas and rough sketching sometimes I just need a space to work
things out visually I don't know if I'm going to do that yet but I'd rather
leave myself the room to use it instead of wanting it and not having the space
for it so I guess we'll see what happens here I'm making a decorative page with
an inspirational quote surrounded with some floral illustrations to tie it all
together for anyone who wants to know how I'm currently using my bullet
journal along with my chic Sparrow traveler's notebook I will leave a link
in the top right hand corner so you can check out my current planner setup so
far it's a system that's really working for me and I love the freedom and
flexibility of being able to change it up whenever I want so this way I'm never
really locked in and I can shape it until I find something that works

I'm 29 years old, I was born in New York, I lived in Brooklyn until I was eight years old,
and I grew up the rest of the way in New Jersey.
To continue, I have an older brother who is married with kids and a younger sister with autism who I love more than anything.

Let's rewind this and take this back to New York.
Whoa. Ok.
I really just wanted to test that rewind feature out.
But now that we're back in New York, let me talk about a few of the teams that I like.
I'm a New York Yankees, Real Madrid, New York Jets, New York Knicks fan.
But they're not very good.
But more than anything I love the game of baseball, I love the history of sport,
I love the history of the New York Yankees and I think there's no greater men than the
likes of Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Derek Jeter.
And I love tech.
Be it games, cameras, computers. Even audio equipment.
I find it all very fascinating and must-have.
And most recently I just got into drones. Here I just got the Mavic Air. Ready for takeoff.
You may be wondering what kind of career background I have and that would be in
the media industry. I graduated with a communications degree, worked on a few
documentaries, bounced around sets and TV for a short while before landing a
steady position on a morning show here in New York.
And here we are with the last fact about me.
I was influenced by YouTubers such as Casey Neistat and Peter McKinnon to start making videos of my own.
They make great creative content. They think outside the box and they take any and all rules about filmmaking
and throw them out, and it works! I try to watch and learn from what they do and try to make my own creative content from there.
I almost didn't know how to end this video. But then I remembered I had these and these remind
me that life doesn't need to be so serious all the time. I can use that
reminder of the once in a while and these are good for that, that or to
make someone smile.

A father who lost his daughter in the school shooting last week in Florida has a message
for lawmakers: �We need to come together as a country, not different parties, and figure
out how we protect the schools.
It is simple.�
Alexandra Seltzer, a reporter covering the shooting, tweeted a picture of Andrew Pollack
who was searching for his daughter, Meadow, after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas
High School, and later followed up with him when he found out �she�s gone.� According
to The Daily Caller, the father received criticism for wearing a �Trump 2020� shirt.
Pollack was one of many who went to the White House to talk to President Donald Trump about
the horrific tragedy and discuss what should be done.
�I�m here because my daughter has no voice,� he began when it was his turn to speak.
�She was murdered last week, and she was taken from us, shot nine times on the third
floor.�
Pollack called for protection at schools as he told his heart-wrenching story that has
since gone viral.
And we need to come together as a country and work on what�s important.
And that is protecting our children in the schools,� he said.
�That�s the only thing that matters right now.�
He added, �And if we all work together and come up with the right idea � school safety.
It is not about gun laws.
That is another fight, another battle.

Well, when I start talking, everyone's eyelids get heavy and then they fall asleep – fast
asleep.
That's really unusual.
When did you discover you had this power?
Oh.
I was on a first date with a beautiful girl and we went to a restaurant.
She asked me asked me what I do for a living, so I said, 'Let me explain'.
But before I could finish, she was asleep in her soup.
I didn't get a second date and she never explained why.

His intonation was very flat.
English is a musical language and if you don't change the pitch of your voice, you'll sound
boring and unenthusiastic.
You might send people to sleep!
So, don't do what Somnia man did when you're speaking.
Try to vary your pitch and intonation.
Right.
Now, let's look at how this verb works.
Explain can be an intransitive verb or a transitive verb.
That means we can just explain or we can explain something.
She asked me asked me what I do for a living, so I said, 'Let me explain'.
But before I could finish, she was asleep in her soup.
I didn't get a second date and she never explained why.
When explain is transitive, we say what's being explained and then there are two patterns
we follow.
Here's the first one and it's the most common.
Ooo.
That's an unusual power.
Explain how it works.
So 'how it works' was the something here.
We could have all sorts of somethings . This is the normal pattern so it's the pattern
you need to learn and remember.
Explain something.
Explain something.
Explain something.
If you want to say who receives the explanation, you can add that too.
Is it necessary to say the to someone bit?
No.
You can add it if you think it's helpful.
It's up to you.
So that's the important pattern to learn.
Explain something.
The second pattern is very similar.
The 'to someone' comes forward and we put it after 'explain'.
Let's see that in action.
Somnia man.
Could you explain to everyone what your superpower is?
Sure.
So we can say 'to' before the person who receives the explanation.
That happened in the first pattern too.
We explain something and sometimes we say to who.
Now, I have a question.
I'll show you a different pattern and you tell me if it's right or not.
Is this possible?
Notice there's no 'to' before the someone here
And no!
This is wrong and it sounds funny.
After explain we put the thing we're explaining.
If you put a person there instead, it sounds like your explaining a person.
That's weird.
So be careful because this is the mistake students make most often.
They say 'explain me' or 'explain us' and that's funny because we can't explain
people.
However we might try to explain someone's motivations or behavior.
So let's look at how we do that.
What are you doing?
Nothing.
You need to explain yourself.
I was trying to get ten dollars out of the box.
You were trying to steal ten dollars?!
Oh no!
I didn't explain myself properly.
I put twenty dollars in the box and I was trying to get ten dollars change.
I'll never understand you.
My mother says that too.
She's been trying to explain me for years.
Let's look at three of the phrases we heard there.
What are you doing?
Nothing.
You need to explain yourself.
This is a phrase we say when we're upset and we want someone to tell us the reason
they did something.
OK.
Another phrase.
You were trying to steal ten dollars?
Oh no!
I didn't explain myself properly This phrase means I didn't say what I meant
clearly.
I wasn't clear enough.
And the last phrase.
I'll never understand you.
My mother says that too.
She's been trying to explain me for years.
This means Jay's mother's been trying to understand and explain his crazy behavior
for years.
So in these phrases explain is followed by a person, with no 'to'.
How come?
Well, they all follow the standard pattern: explain something.
When I say 'explain yourself', I mean explain your reasons and intentions.
That's the something.
And if I explain myself properly the something is 'what I meant to say'.
And when Jay says his mother is trying to explain him, he means she's trying to explain
his strange behavior.
So they follow the standard pattern.
It's just that the something is someone's strange behavior, words or motivations.
Let's check you've understood.
I'll show you a sentence, and you have to decide if it's correct English or not.
Ready?
Here's the first one.
Right or wrong?
This is right!
Explain can be intransitive or transitive, so we can just explain or we can explain something.
Next one.
Right or wrong?
Wrong.
We explain something – not a person.
You could say this with 'to me', but it's unusual.
We generally explain something to someone.
Great.
Next one?
Right or wrong?
It's right.
We explain something and the something here is 'how you make people fall sleep'.
OK last one.
It's wrong.
We'd say 'could you explain what this words means'.
This one is important if you're taking a speaking exam, like Cambridge First Certificate
or IELTS.
If the examiner says something and you don't understand, it's quite all right to say,
'Could you explain that?'.
But don't say 'Could you explain me that' because that's wrong.
It could be a mark against you, And that's it!
Now you know how we use the verb 'explain'.
Now 'suggest' is another verb where we follow similar patterns and we've made another
