Youtube daily or Feb 23 2018

Hello, good morning, welcome.

It's good to see you. I hope you are well.

This vlog will be about action cams and it will be a lot of talking, actually just talking.

So if this topic doesn't interest you, then I invite you to the next film.

For those interested, a small background first.

I have a GoPro Hero 4 for some time,

and sporadically I use them in my films, very sporadically

but when I use it, I come to the conclusion that one or two cameras more would be handful.

But since the camera lies in the drawer for most of the time,

I didn't see the point in buying another GoPro, which costs a lot.

For now I am using friends' cameras,

but I was thinking to buy a budget cameras like $ 150 - $ 180.

Luckily, I didn't buy it. Why luckily?

Because for the last trip to the Dolomites I borrowed two such cameras

it turned out that they aren't very useful to me and cause more problems than profits.

Let me explain it to you.

Of course, it's all from my point of view, how I use these cameras and how I edit footages.

And it turned out that there are a few trivialities that turned out to be very important to me. First things first.

The first is related to post-production, the editting. So Pro Tune.

GoPro, generally every action cam has a very strong contrast and very saturated colors.

And it looks nice, but there are problems when we try to connect it

with footages from other cameras, just like I do. Where I mix shots from GoPro, from G7X and from DSLR.

And for these shots to be similar, you need to work a little.

But GoPro has Pro Tune, which is a mode that allows you to set a flat image recording.

What does a flat image mean? Generally low contrast, unsaturated colors

thanks to that we have a much greater possibility in colorgrading for

color correction and matching of recordings to each other.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing in these cheaper cameras.

Everything was more or less okay when I combined shots from nice, sunny days.

It looked like this, for example.

They look very similar after colorgrading

because my style of color correction is similar to those from sports cameras, quite a contrast, saturated colors.

However, when the shots were taken on cloudy days, as here.

Problems started.

I have changed the colorgrading of these cheaper cameras several times

so that the colors are more or less consistent

with footage from GoPro and G7X. To snow looks similar.

And it turned out that the shots from this cheaper camera look as if they were black and white

because these Christmas trees are so dark it's almost black, but at least the snow in the shots is similar.

It pissed me a lot. And it turned out

it added more work to me, and I'm not completely satisfied with the final effect.

The second element is Quick Capture.

So the option in GoPro, which I have somewhere here.

The option in GoPro that when I press the shutter button, the camera will start itself and start recording.

You will say that this is a solution for lazy people.

After all, just pres power button and wait a moment, press the shutter button and it's after the problem.

Imagine that this camera is mounted on a ski helmet somewhere here.

It's ok. All in all, I can hold this button down and press it, but when it's mounted in the back...

The problem is starting to happen, especially since I'm right-handed.

I'll reach out with my left hand, but it's not very comfortable.

It can be done, but let's take longboard, for example.

When the camera is mounted here, having Quick Capture, I am able to bend down,

push this button quickly and start recording while riding.

I go short on longboard and I'm not good at it, so I can not imagine going in a squat

to be able turn on camera and push shutter speed button.

Probably I would drive into something or fall down.

A trifle, but if you often turn the camera on and off, because during skiing

When skiing, you ski down, then you ride for a few minutes on the lift,

it makes no sense for the camera to be on and record

so you finish recording and turn it off completely.

If you do it many times, it is not very handy.

Especially, as the camera is mounted in strange places. On the boot, somewhere in the back on the ski,

to reach this camera you have to bend very much.

And it is very impractical.

The third element is beeping when switching on and off.

What Michał, something doesn't suit you with a beeping?

Oh yes. In GoPro, it pissed me off at the beginning. Why it beeps so many times and is loud.

I reduced it to 70%, it was the time it was off, but now it is 70%.

Why is this beeping important? Because it's not about that cheap cameras are beeping.

The point is, they don't beep, they actually beep but so quietly that it's no matter.

Holding them so I barely heard that they are turning on or start recording.

When the camera is on the helmet and I do'nt see blinking diodes or the screen

and I am not able to say whether the camera is recording or not,

these sound signals are the only information for me, whether the recording started.

So with GoPro there is no problem. At 70% loudness, I can hear everything clearly whe it is here.

Those cameras, loudness to the max and having them mounted on the back of the helmet, I heard nothing.

The only sure way was to take off the helmet, launch the camera and check if it was recording.

Setting up the helmet and I could go.

It turned out that one of the cameras didn't record any shots for 1.5 days.

I don't know if I pushed the shutter too early or it stopped recording for some reason.

I don't know. But I didn't hear any sound messages so I rode the whole 1.5 days

and got nothing.

Now you can see the GoPro raid that is sucked, ismeaningless.

In fact, they are in poor shape, you can accuse them of various things, certainly that their cameras are too expensive.

But the comfort of using them is completely different. Last year, I borrowed from Kamil GoPro Hero.

It was such a basic version, released probably along with Hero4.

No screen, no wifi, built-in battery, 30 fps in 1080 was max.

But I rode with it for a few days and didn't have any impression that it didn't start recording.

There wasn't a situation that I was connecting to a PC and there were no recordings.

There was no lack of confidence that this camera records when I am going, I just knew that it all works.

And with these $ 150- $ 180 cameras, I didn't have such feelings.

Either I missed the recordings or I wasn't sure if the camera was recording.

So what do you say, Go Pro god?

Not that Go Pro god. It''s one of the options. The second option, apparently Sony has very good cameras.

I didn't have any contact with them, apparently quite good, but they also have other mountings.

So I dont know how it looks here with that.

I looked at Xiaomi too or however you pronounce it.

And these cameras have a flat profile and look pretty good.

But when we talk about budget cameras, we can not talk about Sony or Xiaomi.

How is it? Xiaomi expensive? Like Go Pro?

Look at the prices.

Cheaper model Xiaomi, which has all the necessary things for me

costs $390 with waterproof housing.

What is the point in buying a camera without waterproof housing?

So it's $390. So it's a level of Hero 5.

Xiaomi in top version it's about $480.

Maybe it's a bit cheaper than the Hero 6, but that's a $ 40 difference.

Not $250 or more.

This isn't budget option.

Apparently, Xiaomi is quite cool, but I have not used them either.

So what? Are you saying that these cameras for $ 150 are sucked?

They are not sucked. If you use the camera twice a year on vacation to shoot a movie and show off your family and friends.

They are pretty cool. The quality is acceptable.

Of course, do not expect that the camera for 1/3 of the price of Xiaomi, GoPro or Sony will have the same quality.

The quality differs, even from 4 Hero. But image is nice to watch.

If you don'ot mix shots with footage from other cameras, then lack of a flat profile don't bother you.

And these colors are juicy, it looks nice. Especially on sunny days.

And that's ok. You don't spend much. You use sporadically. You have something to show off. And it's cool.

But if you plan to use it, let say, more ambitiously, this isn't the best choice.

And what would you do if you had to buy a new action cam?

I would probably buy used Hero 4.

Not to spend too much, but to have what meets my expectations.

Uh, I talked a lot. That's probably all from me.

What is your opinion? Maybe you agree with me, maybe not. If you want to speak go and comment.

If you used Xiaomi or Sony cameras, you can write about it in the comments.

It may be useful to me if I will buy another camera one day.

You can share your knowledge with me and with others.

In the meantime, I wish you a nice day.

See you.

Variable or fixed mortgage rate: What's the difference and which one to choose? - Duration: 4:31.

below hit the little bell so you don't

miss anything.

Hi everyone, welcome to another edition of Homebuyer's School. Today I'm joined by

Mujtaba Syed, Manager Mobile Specialist with TD Canada Trust, and

today the question we're gonna answer, is

What's the difference between a fixed and variable mortgage?

So Mo, what is that difference?

Yeah, absolutely. So a

fixed-rate and a variable rate they're just two different types of mortgages

--mortgage rates that are available from the bank so a fixed rate just

means that your interest rate is fixed, your term is fixed--whichever

one you have picked and determined for that certain period of time. So if you

have a 5 year fixed it just means that your rate is gonna be fixed and your

payment's will be guaranteed for that time period. A variable just means that

if you went with the 5 year variable, that the term is guaranteed for 5 years

but the rate can fluctuate with prime, so if prime went up your rate could go up, if

prime went down your interest rate could go down,

affecting your payment's in both scenarios.

So when should I pick a fixed and when should I pick a variable?

Absolutely, so that's a--it's a very personal thing, so if you feel like

you're very comfortable with variable-- you're comfortable with taking risk and

you feel like in the future the rates are going to go down, variable is a very

good option for that because if rates do go down it would actually impact your

rate which would also come down. But if rates ever did go up it would actually

impact your mortgage rates as well and determining what the payments are

going to be based on the new rate. A fixed rates very good if you are very

determined to pay out pay of your mortgage and you feel like you have a

monthly budget put in place and you feel like this is very comfortable for you.

you don't want your payments to go up, fixed rate is very

good in that scenario as well.

If I was a first-time homebuyer what would you recommend?

For my clients, for first-time homebuyers,

I definitely recommend--going with the 5 year fixed--is because it's your first time

getting into a house, you have set yourself a monthly budget and you're

very comfortable with that budget so any surprises could actually throw

that budget off. So if you're very comfortable with the payments that you

set for yourself, get the 5 year fixed, get comfortable with it and after 5 years

after having some experience with your mortgage, definitely take a look at other

terms and other great types like a variable to see if you're comfortable

with that.

Is there any--I guess maybe I'm talking about pros and cons--but is there

a way that in the long run a fixed or a variable you come out like ahead, or do

you save more money with a fixed, you save more money with a variable, or is it

all dependent on personal situation?

Absolutely, it's a great question,

so it really just depends on a lot of different situations, so in Canada for

the longest time and recently we've had historically low rates--fixed

rates, so it would just--it was a great time to get into interest rates in the

last couple years where interest rates were very very low, but that is changing

now, so a variable could be a very good option at that time even though variable

rate is going up, historically variable has done a lot better,

it just averages a lot better with the ups and downs overall,

it tends to do a little bit better, once again it's just based on personal

preference but historically 5 year variable has done better than the 5 year fixed.

So Mo, do you have anything else to add for fixed or variable mortgage rates?

Yeah, so the best thing I would recommend is this, having a great conversation with

your specialist or lender to see what's best for you. Maybe a fixed makes more

sense, maybe a variable will make more sense, but it will just depend on your

personal preference, and with the right knowledge you can actually pick the one

that's best for you.

How to Build a Giant Pyramid Using Mega Bloks Mini (or Lego Duplo) - Duration: 3:02.

Hello, and welcome to Silly Boy Toys!

Today, we'll be making a pyramid out of Mega Bloks mini, or Lego Duplo if you have some.

So first of all, get a nice flat surface to work on and find as many 2x2 pieces as you

can.

They'll be used at the top of the pyramid.

The smaller pieces we'll use at the top of the pyramid.

Okay.

Next, we want to find some 2x4 pieces - the larger bricks.

Get as many of them as you can.

They'll be used for the foundation of the pyramid - the bottom of the pyramid,

because they're stronger and bigger.

And find some decoration, so some people, some doggies, a flag to put on top.

Whatever you can ... whatever you can find.

So let's get started.

So start with your smaller pieces first and create each layer one by one.

Now, we're only going to put bricks on the outside of the layer.

We're not going to build into the centre of the pyramid - just the outside as you can

see here.

It's best to start from the top, because if you start from the bottom, you don't know

how many bricks you're going to need.

From the top, you can just keep building until you run out of bricks.

So as you can see here, we haven't got enough 2x2's to complete the next layer, so we'll

hang on to them for later.

Now let's do out 2x4 ones - the bigger bricks.

Same thing, just go around the outside ... doing each layer.

Keep going until you've run out of bricks.

One more layer I think I can manage.

Oh oh, I need one more brick.

That happens to be a Lego.

That's the only Lego Duplo block that I use in this pyramid.

And there we go, we've completed the main structure.

But we've still got these spare 2x2's, haven't we?

Well, we can go ahead and make a tower - make a spire on top of the pyramid.

So keep putting them on until you run out.

And finally, we can stick the flag on top!

There we go.

Looks nice.

So let's put our decoration on.

Put the people up there.

The doggies.

Just balance them on however you wish.

The boy.

And there we have it!

Our completed pyramid.

What a marvel!

And that was Mega Bloks pyramid.

If you've enjoyed this video, don't forget to like and subscribe.

Are You Growing UP Or Are You Just Growing OLD? - Duration: 3:51.

Hey guys, are you growing up or are you just growing old? In the Bible, we read

about the Israelites who had to be in the wilderness for 40 years. They grew

old but they never grew up. Why did they remain stuck in the same

place for 40 years? It's due to their unbelief and disobedience. They also had

a complaining problem. Unbelief, disobedience, and a negative attitude can

keep us away from God's best. God led the Israelites to the promised land of

Canaan. The land filled with milk and honey. God told them that they can

capture the land and that he would be with them. However, the Israelites didn't

believe that they can capture the land. They said that the people were taller

and stronger than them. Their fear led to a failure to trust God. Fear leads to

disobedience, which leads to severe punishment. It is faith that causes God

to move. As a matter of fact, in Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 it says,

If it is impossible to please God

without faith, then faith pleases God and unbelief displeases God. We are called to

walk by faith and not by sight. The Israelites also complained a lot, even

though God did miracles for them. He parted the Red Sea for them, and

destroyed the Egyptian army that was following them. He turned bitter water

into sweet water at Marah. He provided for them food, and even gave them water

out of a rock, yet they still complained. One thing I've learned is that no one

likes to hang around a complainer. It is kind of foolish for us to complain about

our lives and our problems when someone out there is struggling, who would do any

thing to have the life that we have. A good way to stop complaining

is to start practicing gratitude. I don't care how bad your life is, there is

always something that you can be grateful for. Less complaining, more

gratitude. While the Israelites suffered with

unbelief, Joshua and Caleb were filled with faith and they were the ones that

entered the promised land. In numbers chapter 13 verse 30 it says,

Now, that is a bold

statement filled with faith and they went on and entered the promised land. I

understand that we are human and we are not perfect. We are sometimes gonna make

mistakes and suffer from unbelief. This is why we need to pray for God's Spirit

to strengthen us when we stand for what is right, and we can come to God and ask

for forgiveness whenever we fall. Our failures can be

redeemed by grace. I want to encourage you to be like Joshua and Caleb. Don't be

like the Israelites who grew old, but never grew up. Grow up in faith, that way

you don't miss the promised land that God has for your life. I hope this video

was able to help you guys out. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe and

I'll see you in the next video. God loves you, be blessed.

what's up guys a growing trend for many artists is to offer exclusive or

experimental tracks on music streaming sites like SoundCloud or YouTube before

releasing them anywhere else on rare occasions some of these great songs

never make their way onto an official album which can be disappointing for

die-hard fans who need to download every song available from their favorite

artists or bands while other services allow you to download tracks from

SoundCloud or YouTube independently using one application for both makes it

extremely simple to find and download them directly onto your Android device

Gimp: How to Select or Cut Out Hair - Duration: 10:20.

In this tutorial we will see a method to select or cut out hair.

To be able to apply this technique successfully,

we need to have an image with a proper contrast between the hair and the background.

Otherwise it will not work.

The higher the contrast, the better the result.

We will work on the image with the boy,

but the other example images are made with the same technique.

Go to file, open and here we search for our image and open it.

Then we right click on the layer and hit add alpha channel.

The font changes from bold to normal, which indicates that this layer now can have transparency.

Drag the layer to the duplicate layer button to make a duplicate of this layer.

In the next step we go to the menu bar and click on colors.

Here we hit curves.

Adjust the contrast by click and drag the diagonal line,

to make the darker areas a bit darker and the lighter areas a bit lighter.

But take care not to loose to much details.

Its important to pay attention to where the edges of the hair touch the background,

because that is where we need to increase the contrast.

We will look at the other areas later.

Click the preview of and on to see the difference.

Then click okay.

Go ahead and hit colors again.

Then click on desaturate to change the image into a black and white image.

Choose the option which enhances the contrast

of the edge of the hair with the background the most.

For this image I have chosen the option lightness.

When we have a subject with dark hair and lighter background,

the option luminosity might be better.

Hit okay.

Back to colors again, hit curves and adjust the contrast a bit more.

Click okay.

The goal is to make the subject as white as possible and the background as black as possible.

Everything that is white will be transparent,

and everything that is black will cover the underlying image.

Click okay.

When our subject has dark hair and a relative light background,

we go to colors and click invert.

In this image however, the edge of the hair is light, so we can leave it as it is.

Go to the toolbox and activate the free select tool.

We are going to select the body precisely and where the hair begins,

we stay just within the white area like shown in the video.

Hold the Ctrl key down and roll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.

Start clicking points along the edge.

We can also click and drag, to draw a selection line.

When we hold down the space bar, the free select tool changes into the move tool,

and we can, by moving the mouse without clicking move the image.

Let go of the mouse to have the free select tool again.

Pressing the backspace key lets us remove one or more previous made points.

When we select the hair, we must make sure that we do not include parts of the background,

that might shine through the hair.

We can reduce the opacity of the top layer, to see if we are still on the right track.

When we click the last point over the first point, our selection is closed.

Make the opacity 100 again.

Go to view, zoom and fit image in window.

Go ahead and click and drag the white of the foreground background colors into the selection.

Go to select again and now click none.

Back to colors and curves and try to make the contrast even higher.

Click okay.

Go to the toolbox and make the paintbrush active.

Choose brush hardness 100 and make the size around 150.

Now we can work on the background to make everything that is not yet black, black.

This will of course be different for every image.

With the bracket keys we can change the size of the brush.

Use the Ctrl key and the mouse wheel to zoom in or out and the space bar to move the image.

When we have made the whole background black, we go to the foreground background colors,

and switch them, so white is our foreground color.

Go ahead and check if there are areas in the white of the subject,

that we still have to make white.

When this is done, we go to view, zoom and fit image in window,

to maximize the image in the window.

Right click on the bottom layer and click add layer mask.

Leave the layer mask on white full opacity and click add.

When we click on the image of the layer, we can see a white line around it,

which indicates that the image is active.

When we click on the layer mask we can see that the white line around the image disappears.

Although its is not good visible because the mask itself is white, the mask is now selected.

Select the top layer.

Go to edit and click cut, now back to edit and click paste.

We now have a floating layer.

Click on the anchor at the bottom of the layers panel,

to paste the floating layer into the layer mask.

Everything that is black in our mask, covers the background,

so only the subject and the hair are visible now.

The next step is to open our background image.

Go to file, open as layers and search and open the background image.

Click the scale tool in the toolbox, click in the image.

Now, click and drag the background image to scale it.

Make sure that it covers the underlying image completely.

Then click scale.

Click and drag this layer beneath the image of our subject.

Right click on the top layer and hit apply layer mask.

Make the background layer invisible by clicking on the eye.

In that way we can see which areas we still have to remove.

Go to the toolbox and activate the fuzzy select tool.

We can click and select one of the little areas that still needs to be removed.

Press the delete key to remove this area.

Then go to the next spot, select it and delete it.

In this way we can check our whole image to remove,

step by step, whatever needs to be deleted.

It can help to toggle the background layer on and off.

When we think its okay, we click on the smudge tool in the toolbox.

Choose brush bristles 01 and adjust the size to say 50 or so.

Go to select and hit all.

Now we can make the transition between the hair and the background,

a bit smoother where this is necessary.

Satisfied?

Make the background layer visible.

Then we go to view, zoom and hit fit image in window.

And there it is, our final result.

I hope this helps.

If that is the case, please give it thumbs up,

post a nice comment and subscribe if you have not done already.

Thanks very much for watching.

I have no idea what happened.

Well, I finally went and got the X-rays, I got the MRI, I just got out of the doctor's

There's some fancy words on here like arthrosis, tendinosis, and capsulitis, but basically

what this says is, "Hey, man.

You're getting old.

Suck it up."

That's basically what this say.

Now, I'm not telling you this so you say, aw, poor baby.

I'm telling you this you're going to suffer injuries as a martial artist.

That's just part of the game.

But that is not an excuse to stop training.

That's right.

Three months, I have had burning, aching shoulders.

I haven't been able to do a proper push-up, I haven't been able to throw a full power

punch, even when I'm sleeping, I'm in pain.

But I'm still training.

All I did was shift my attention to my legs.

I'm working on my footwork, my kicking, and on my stances.

And I might be deluded, but I think I've made improvements in al three areas.

And if I can make improvements when I'm injured, guess what--so can you.

So, before I get out of here and go cry, do some physical therapy, and maybe give myself

a piece of pie, I wanted to give you three principles to keep in mind in case you're

dealing with an injury.

Okay. You're injured.

Principle number one—you can always train something.

I don't care what your injury is, you can still go to class, you can observe, you can

take notes, organize your notebook, you can ask questions, you can do research, you can

meditate, you can visualize… and these are examples of minimal effort training.

I'll bet you can do a lot more than that.

If you don't have your arms, use your legs.

If you don't have your legs, use your arms.

There's always something you can train.

Just because you can't train everything, doesn't mean you can't do something.

Now, there's a key philosophy here that you must have as a martial artist.

Remember that if you focus on what you can't do, you won't do anything.

But if you focus on what you can do, then you'll always figure out something to do.

The reason this is crucial as a martial artist is, let's say you get caught in a choke.

If you think about what you can't do, that's what you focus on, "I can't breathe!

I can't breathe!

I can't move my head!" well, then, my friend, you're going to die in that choke.

But if you can train yourself to instantly think about what you can do, "Can I move

my arms?

Can I move my legs?

Can I shift my hips?

Can I drive my head back?

Can I get my chin down?"

well, then you've got a chance at figuring out how to escape that choke.

So, please, never forget this—focus on what you can do, not on what you can't do.

Principle number two—any training is better than no training.

If you can't make it through a whole class, do half a class.

Do half an hour.

Do five minutes.

Do five seconds.

Just do something!

Look—any time you spend, no matter how small, if your intention is to make an improvement,

that's worth it.

It's valuable time.

It's certainly a lot better than the time you're going to spend laying on the couch

feeling sorry for yourself.

Some people get this idea that injuries mean "down time", right?

But that's a huge mistake.

There is no such thing as down time or up time, good times, bad times… there is only

time.

The clock is ticking.

This time is going to pass yo by whether you choose to use it or not.

So, I recommend you use it.

Any training is better than no training.

Principle number three— don't think of your pain as an injury, think of it as an

opportunity.

I know it sounds crazy, but I believe that injuries are actually good for you.

I'm not saying I want you to get hurt, but if you do get hurt, and you will, then it

can be a very positive experience.

I actually recorded a whole podcast on this topic a while ago.

If you haven't heard it, I'll put the link below.

For right now, let me share one idea that I shared in that show.

Imagine this—you're in class.

You're working out.

And on the sideline, there's a world-class martial arts coach.

After class, he or she walks over to you and says, "You!

Hey!

I have plan for you."

Now, I don't know why this coach has a Russian accent—a bad Russian accent--but play along.

He says, "I have plan for you.

I'm going to give you world-class footwork.

Footwork that blow everybody away.

Here's what you do.

For six weeks, no punches, no sparring, no bags, just footwork.

In six weeks, you'll be the best in the world.

Your whole life be better."

Wow.

Right?

You would be pumped if you heard that.

You'd be excited.

You have a plan.

You have a purpose.

You've got time.

All you have to do is execute and there is no question that when you come out of that

six weeks, you're going to be better than ever.

So, what's the difference between the coach coming over and giving you a six week plan

to improve yourself or sitting down with your doctor and hearing, "Hey, you've got to

take off six weeks to let this heal."

There is no difference!

The only difference is in your mindset.

In one situation, you feel in control.

You're making deliberate decisions.

You're pumped.

You're excited.

You're going to make progress.

You're moving forward.

In the other situation, you're playing the victim.

You feel like you're being forced to do something that you didn't plan on and you

don't want to do.

Well, grow up.

Injuries don't make you special.

Everybody gets injured.

The difference between champs and chumps, winners and whiners, is how you react to that

injury.

So, don't make the mistake of feeling sorry for yourself when you get hurt.

Instead, think of your pain as an opportunity, not an injury.

All right.

Okay, I'm done.

I hope that little rant helped you out.

To be honest, it was really for me.

I get it.

I'm a human being.

I get depressed, too.

Injuries can be a bummer.

But like I said, the clock is ticking.

It's ticking whether you stay positive and make a plan and focus on progress or if you

say screw it and start sucking on a bottle of Stolichnaya and wake up blacked out on

the floor… in the mall.

Whatever.

Don't give in to the darkness, my friend.

Don't let an injury beat you up.

Think about it—if you let an injury beat you up, you're just making it that much

easier for a bad guy to beat you up and I don't want to see that happen.

If you liked this video, thanks for sharing it with a friend who might need an encouraging

word and thanks for subscribing to the channel.

Until next time, keep moving forward, my friend, and keep fighting for a happy life.

British or American English 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Which one should you study? - Duration: 6:42.

Hello! I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!

In this lesson, we're going to talk about

American English and British English.

Do you need to know the difference?

Which one is right?

Which one should you use?

And which one do I use?

These are all questions that I get asked

all the time by my students!

And in this video I'm going to answer them for you.

So the first question.

Do you need to know the difference

between American English and British English?

Well you need to know that there are differences.

There are a few different spelling rules, grammar rules

and of course there's different accents and vocabulary.

You need to know that there are those differences

but that doesn't necessarily mean that you need to

study and learn them.

The truth is that all English speakers understand

each other, despite the differences in their English.

We watch each other's movies,

we read each other's books, we work with each other,

we read each other's news.

So we're often exposed to the different

words and spellings that other English speakers use..

which brings me to the next question.

Should you care about the differences

between American English and British English?

Maybe.

It depends on why you're learning English.

You only need to care about the differences

if you're studying for an English exam,

you're applying for or attending an English university

or you're using English professionally for your job.

Usually in these situations,

you need to pay attention to the spelling

and the grammar rules because it can affect

your score

or even affect your reputation.

So if this sounds like you, then you

definitely do need to think about whether

British English or American English

is the right choice for you.

So which one is right?

Which one should you use?

Its a hard question for me to answer.

You need to think about you and your situation.

Are you living in an English-speaking country?

Then of course,

use the type of English that is used there.

But maybe you're planning to study

in an English-speaking country.

Which one?

If it's America, then you should be training

to learn American English.

But if not, then focus on British English

because most other English-speaking countries

use British English grammar and spelling standards.

Do you speak to a lot of clients or colleagues

who are from America or from the UK?

This can help you to decide whether you need to

study American English or British English.

You might think that one type of English is easier

than the other

and that can also tell you which one you should study.

You could choose any of these reasons

to help you decide which type of English to study.

It definitely makes sense to focus on lessons,

books and teachers that use one type of English.

It just makes it a little less confusing

while you're learning.

So focus on either British or American English

but remember that the other one exists.

You don't have to choose one and then

never, ever, ever use the other.

In fact, that's almost impossible!

And also one is not more important than the other.

But

for you, there is probably one that is more relevant

to your situation.

And that's the one that you should focus on

- that you should study.

Another question that I often get asked is

"What type of English do I use?"

Well I'm Australian and here in Australia we follow

British English rules for spelling and grammar.

And that's actually true for most

English-speaking countries outside of America.

Of course, all English-speaking countries have

some unique vocabulary and slang

so there will be different words that you come across

that are used for the same thing.

Now if you want some examples of that

then check out this video right here.

Finally, it's important for you to know

that there are some native English speakers who get

very protective about their language and they will

argue about which way is right and which way is wrong.

But most of you,

you don't need to worry about this conversation

and these arguments and discussions about

whose English is better

or whose English is right or wrong.

What's important for you, is that you

keep building your English skills and

you practise communicating clearly and confidently.

Accept that there are different types of English

and that's no reason to get stressed or anxious.

It just is how it is.

The most important thing

is that you focus on communicating your ideas

and your feelings clearly in English.

But I do think that it's important to know what

the differences

between British and American English are

so that you know how to recognise them.

So in my next lesson,

I'll explain the main differences

with lots of examples

so make sure you subscribe

by clicking that button down there.

You'll find out as soon as that video is ready!

And in the meantime, you can check out these lessons,

right here,

where I'll be speaking with some other native speakers

with American and British accents.

So thanks for watching

and I will see you again next week.

Bye for now!

The 'Smart Guy' When T.J. Met A Pedophile On The Internet - Duration: 4:42.

(gentle music)

- [Narrator] TJ wants $55

for a computer game called Starship Doctor.

His dad say, "No dice."

Meanwhile, Marcus and Moe went splitsies

on a piece of shit car that set them back a cool six hundo.

Karen tells TJ about a kid, named Marky412

she's been talking to in a chat room,

who's selling bootleg copies of Starship Doctor

for 20 bucks.

TJ has some concerns that this illegal

and, therefor, something that could get him in trouble.

Which, he quickly overlooks

the second Karen calls him a wuss.

TJ messages Marky412 and finds out that, not only,

is Starship Doctor still available,

he has also has some more illegal games.

Eager to purchase all these bootleg titles,

TJ says they'll meet him this afternoon

then hatches a quick plan to fleece those two bozos

with car troubles outside.

He offers to repair the car for $65

then, somehow, fixes the engine with a paperclip

then takes off with those suckers' money.

TJ and Karen show up, in dorky, matching hats,

looking for the kid they were talking to in the chat room.

Only, a kid doesn't show up.

It turns out, Marky412 is a fully-grown dude.

And, when TJ and Karen are like, "Hey, man, what the shit?

"We thought you were 12." Marky412 says

he was only in the kids chat room because he likes games

and the only other people, on Earth,

who like games are kids.

And, that airtight logic is all these two idiots need

to sit down with this pedophile.

They do the deal in a very inconspicuous fashion,

seasoned pros.

Marky says, "Enjoy, but definitly do not tell your dad."

because, hey, dumb-dumb, illegal stuff makes dads pissed.

TJ, instantly, shows his dad

all the cool, new games he bought.

And, when his dad is like, "Hey, man, what the shit?

"I thought you only robbed your brother for $65?"

TJ covers by saying he only bought one game

and the rest are Karen's.

Very smooth.

Marky412 Ims to ask, "How they like the games?"

TJ says, "They're super sweet."

and Marky412 says he has two new games,

including Clowns of War, and they're even sweeter.

Only, Marky can't leave the house

because he's too busy working on a new game.

So, if they want Clowns of War

they better book it over to his house.

TJ scams some more car money

then rides off into the sunset of his innocence.

Marky412 welcomes his young guests

to a very unsettling basement featuring two computers

and a surfboard on a blue screen

that's the new game he's been working on.

Marky412 starts explaining his Surf City game

and TJ is enthralled.

Marky says that he uses that super, nifty basement cam,

over there, to put your image right in the game

and they can be the very first to try it.

TJ and Karen take turns on this, absolutely, terrible game

where you stand on a surfboard and do nothing

as stock footage of waves crashing plays behind you.

It might be the worst game of all-time

if you can even call it a game, at all.

They say the game rocks because they're dumb.

But, Mikey412 says "Something's wrong.

"See, they're surfing in warm clothes and it looks weird,

"they should be wearing bathing suits."

TJ quips that bathing suits might be winter wear in Hawaii

but not in D.C., which stands for Darn Cold,

which is music to a pedophiles ears

since only little kids say darn.

Marky says, "Underwear is, basically,

"the same as a bathing suit and, yeah, ya know,

"maybe they should just, like,

"get in their underwear and hop on that surfboard."

TJ and Karen say, "No thanks."

and Marky breaks out a book of his other basement friends

and flips to a girl, named Melissa,

who used to be nervous but after a while

started surfing with her shirt off.

TJ seems to have no objection

to the fact that he's looking at child porn

and, instead, is like, "Hey, man, what the shit?

"I thought you said we were the first ones

to play this game."

Marky covered, saying they're the first

to play this version.

And, this smart guy finally realizes,

"Holy fuck, we're in a pedophiles basement!"

The worst kind of basement to be in.

TJ drags Karen out of there

because she's about to wind up on a page stuck to Melissa's.

And, Marky412 reminds them, do not tell their parents.

So, TJ immediately tells his dad, who calls the cops,

who then say this guy's on parole for a similar crime

and he's going back to jail

thanks to TJ's heroic, illegal computer games.

TJ talks with his dad and says he's done with the internet

and he's gonna throw his modem away.

His dad is like, "Hey, man, what the shit?

"There's some pretty cool stuff on there

"and, also, I look at boobs when you're at school."

TJ asks, "How you can know who's good and who's not online?"

and his dad says, "You can't."

Even though you definitly can when it's a grown man

who lures you to his basement with video games.

So, what did we learn today?

If an adult man, who calls himself Marky

and hangs out in kids chat rooms,

can trick you into riding your bike to his basement

with the worst video game ever made,

you might not be such a smart guy, after all.

And, if you need $55 to buy a new game

you can make that money, and then some,

by fixing your brother's broken car with a paperclip.

But, don't get greedy and use that money

to buy three bootleg games and then try to buy

two more bootleg games, in the same afternoon,

before you've even played those first three games

because you might end up in Marky412's book of memories.

And, if you meet a pedophile in a chatroom tell the cops

so they can send him to prison

where his ass will get filled with street justice.

And, don't let this experience

turn you off to the internet, as a whole,

because there's some pretty cool stuff online

and your dad looks at boobs while you're at school.

See you next time,

on A Very Special Episode.

Giant Wave in the River: Big Fish or..? / Große Welle im Fluss beim Angeln/ Риболов през зимата - Duration: 6:21.

- Look there!

- There's the cormorant again!

- So it isn't a big fish?

- No.

- Black spot full of fish.

- Did you catch something?

- I caught and it made a huge wave.

So these are schools of such fish.

- Yes; small fish!

- It is not a big fish!

- They are like this one!

- It is full of such fish.

- What is this?

- He bit.

- He attacked.

- Yes, take a look!

Fellow angler: - What fish is that?

Tsetso: - Macedonian vimba (Malamída),

but attacked the treble hook.

Fellow angler: - All that fish came now; a few days ago!

Fellow angler: - It wasn't here before.

Testo: - That's right!

- The cormorants are gathering them.

- I hope I don't catch a cormorant.

- Hope so!

- Asp!

- Asp on the jerkbait!

- Sure!

Fellow angler: - Did she attack?

- Yes, attacked in the pause after the twitch.

- Didn't get hooked in the mouth.

- But attacked.

Another angler: - What is this? (meant the giant wave)

- Bulk of Macedonian vimba as big as your car.

Katya: - Come on, release the asp!

Fellow angler: - Macedonian vimba?

Tsetso: -Yes.

- I casted there and caught a few.

- Some attacked the hook.

- What happened to them, not sure.

Fellow angler: - A big school.

Katya: - Give me the rod!

Fellow angler: - What is chasing them?

Tsetso: - Nothing; they are moving around.

- Drop the rod!

Fellow angler: - Tsetso, where are you casting?

- I'm leaving.

Fellow angler: - We can cast here.

- She swam away.

- Seriously! You caught her and she got unhooked?!

- Yes!

- Where is the lure?

- A jig this time.

Washing her salad before eating :)
