Youtube daily do May 27 2018

Hey, this is the Daily Overpass, my name is Eric and I make apps!

Now today let's ask the question - what do you do when you're feeling low?

Ok, so if you watched the live-stream last Friday, you will know that my biggest app

called Ear Agent on Android, which generated most of my passive income, was suspended by

Google Play!

In fact, it was just a week before that someone mentioned in the comments that they'd had

a similar spy-themed app which had a million downloads which was suspended.

And I said as a response "this is something that I've feared for quite a while that that

might happen to me!

Even though I try to follow all the guidelines and comply with everything, it's just the

general creepiness of the app has always been there.

For the last five and a half years, my dread was that i would get this "your app has been

suspended" email, and I got it last Wednesday.

In fact, I got it just after I did the video on what we were doing for GDPR that day.

So, after 5 years I had this big fear that if I ever got that, it's gonna be a huge blow

to the company, it's gonna be a huge blow all over.

But it was always there in the shadows, like, that could happen.

And then I got it, I got that email.

So, how did I respond?

I wish I could tell you that I responded like "well, we saw this coming, we've been preparing,

we're just gonna have to work a little bit harder and push forward!!" but I didn't.

I'm ashamed to say that my first response was to sulk.

So, I went home, I said I'm not coming back into the office today, I need to do some thinking,

I need to think about the strategy going forward and everything like that, and I just went

for a drive.

I just went missing for the day.

And, you know what I do when I'm really low?

Like, last Wednesday, or if we have a really bad day with a client or something like that,

or just things are financially turbulent for the month for whatever reason, late payments,

whatever - I look at the job pages.

i look at jobsurf, which is a website I used to use when I was looking for contracts back

in the day.

And there's probably better ones now, I don't even know.

So I started looking for jobs, right?!

"Oh, javascript developer in London, 400-500 a day, West London", it's like, you know what,

I could do that!

It's like if you've ever been in a relationship and you get mad at one little thing and you

think "that's it, I'm leaving!" and you start playing through it in your head, all the ramifications,

like, no, that's not gonna work.

That's ridiculous.

Once you start walking through it, the impulse.

So my impulse is like "I should just go find a job".

And I have to bring myself back, because Is tarted thinking about it through it all saying

"hang on a second, we have this team that took so long to build!

We have Overpass, we have the branding, we have everything that we've been working on,

and we still have all these other applications out there!

We have all these clients, we have all these things that we've been building", and one

little hit and i just completely like "oh man, let's go find a job, whatever, this guaranteed

income that comes in.

So I started thinking about it.

I started playing it through my head.

First of all, the team that I'm in love with.

They click, they gel together, it took a long time to put them together.

What are they gonna do?

Just go and disband and just go join other companies?

No way, over my dead body!

Second, our clients need us.

I'm not gonna call up our clients and say "hey, I'm sorry, I decided to take on this

job, I'm not gonna be available anymore".

Because there's a reason they continue to work with us, it's because I can imagine them

going to another company and going to another developer and somebody saying "ooh, I don't

know, that's gonna be very difficult Dave", or whatever.

I'm not gonna let that happen.

and second, the idea of just going into an office, taking on a contract, going in there

every day, getting on the train, going into London, going in on the first day and them

saying "hey, thanks for joining us, it's Eric isn't it?"

"Yes" "So here's your desk over here.

I'm afraid the chairs a little bit broken because the last guy had some back problems

and when he left everyone took his chair and everything like that.

And the computers really slow, but just try to carry on with the code.

We'll have a meeting today at 10 o clock.

If you have a lunch, try not to take longer than 45 minutes because, you know, it just

looks bad.

If you leave before 6, please let us know".

I definitely don't wanna go back to that life again!

So I started thinking about there's loads of benefits, loads of things going for us,

it's just in those moments where you get hit with something, or you just feel low.

I look at the job pages.

I don't know what you guys do, but it's nice to know that it's still there.

That's a life that I'd never plan on going back to, but if I had to, I would.

Like I said, I would sweep elephant cages for my family if I had to, but by no means

do we have to.

The fact is that for the last couple of years we've been building up our client base, we

do more client work, we're building up our apps too, so the non-ear agent app revenue

is still significant, although it's not great, it's not enough to live off of but we're still

working on the portfolio and all that kind of stuff.

And I wish I could say that I stood my ground but sometimes i get low.

So, my question to you is - what do you do when you've had a bad day?

What do you look at?

Do you look at - ah I'm just gonna get out of I.T. altogether, oh by the way, I was also

thinking "I'm just gonna leave the app store.

We're just gonna do PWA's from now on.

That's what we're gonna do!

Progressive web apps.

Screw the app stores".

Really, we're still getting revenue from them and that's still the way to go.

I still think PWA's, while they're definitely a lot more attractive to me now, given the

problems we've had with both Apple app store and Google Play over the past three weeks,

I'm starting to look more into the PWA side, even though there's still problems with monetisation,

still problems with Safari, although those are getting better because they're bringing

web workers and all that kind of stuff.

So I'm starting to look into that a lot more, and of course we've got all the client stuff,

so we've gotta make sure that we give them the best service that we can, which we do!

IF THOUGHTS CAN DO THIS TO PHYSICAL REALITY, IMAGINE HOW BENEFICIAL �BLESSING� YOUR

FOOD COULD BE�

About 5 months ago I picked up a new habit and started sending a blessing to my food,

(each meal) before eating it.

This is a common custom to pray or say �grace� before a meal in many religions; although

I am not religious I have adapted this practice for my own reasons, which I will explore in-depth

throughout this article.

There are many reasons to bless your food aside from religious ones, but considering

this has been practiced throughout various cultures of the world for thousands of years,

religion aside � there just might be something to this.

Saying grace is essentially just taking a moment to show gratitude and appreciation

to the fact that there is even food on the table or in your hands that you are about

to eat, rather than what is typically done in North America at least, where the food

is quickly shovelled into ones face.

If you are religious, you are generally thanking your God for this abundance, if you�re not,

like me, you might be saying thank you to the Universe or the Creator � whatever you

choose to call it.

If nothing more, blessing your food gives you the chance to appreciate what�s in front

of you and gives you a moment out of your day to show gratitude for what you have.

But, it�s actually so much more than that.

Everything Is Energy By now, science has gotten a pretty firm grasp

on the fact that everything is actually energy.

What were once thought of as balls of mass � atoms, are now understood to be composed

of mostly just empty space, and really these balls of �matter� are actually energy

in ecstatic motion.

It is energy in motion.

So, by being aware of this, it makes it easier to understand how we are actually affecting

the reality around us with our thoughts and intentions at all times.

A great example of this is the work from Dr. Masuro Emoto, who published his best-selling

book, The Secret Life Of Water before he passed.

Throughout his research, Dr. Emoto was able to prove just how much of our consciousness

affects the reality around us.

By observing water molecules when given loving messages and intentions such as �Thank you,�

�I love you,� and then the contrary, �I hate you,� �I wish you would die,� that

were then frozen, he was able to prove how much the intention was actually affecting

each water molecule in a physical manner.

The water droplets given a message of love or gratitude had complex and beautiful patterns,

while the ones given a message coming from fear or hate had no symmetry in their designs

and looked more sporadic.

The results of this work merely scratch the surface of how powerful our thoughts, intentions

and words really are and how our consciousness actually impacts the world around us.

Dean Radin, the Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, along with Masaru Emoto,

Takashige Kizu, and Nancy Lund, designed an experiment that tested this hypothesis.

As the study�s description reads:

�Over three days, 1,900 people in Austria and Germany focused their intentions towards

water samples located inside an electromagnetically shielded room in California.

Water samples located near the target water, but unknown to the people providing intentions,

acted as ��proximal�� controls.

Other samples located outside the shielded room acted as distant controls.

Ice drops formed from samples of water in the different treatment conditions were photographed

by a technician, each image was assessed for aesthetic beauty by over 2,500 independent

judges, and the resulting data were analyzed, all by individuals blind with respect to the

underlying treatment conditions.

Results suggested that crystal images in the intentionally treated condition were rated

as aesthetically more beautiful than proximal control crystals (p < 0.03, one-tailed).

This outcome replicates the results of an earlier pilot test.�

The work of Dr. Emoto was featured in a documentary, �What The Bleep Do We Know,� that delves

into this topic even further from a quantum physics level.

This film was a key component to my awakening journey and provided me much insight into

how powerful our minds really are � I highly recommend this film.

Emotto�s work is not without criticism, but there here are hundreds of published peer-reviewed

publications showing statistically significant results for this type of science, yet unfortunately,

it is still shunned by mainstream academia, even though so many mainstream academic scientists

support it.

What is going on here?

The idea that the mind affects physical material reality is not trivial, and it�s been demonstrated

repeatedly with statistically significant results through fascinating research undertaken

by government programs, places like the Institute of Noetic Sciences (founded by Dr. Edgar Mitchell),

and, in more recent developments, the group of internationally recognized scientists mentioned

above.

You can find many studies in this area by checking out the IONS website.

Here is a selected list of peer-reviewed journal articles about psi (psychic) phenomena, most

published in the 21st century.

It�s also important to mention that a group of internationally recognized scientists have

come together to stress the importance of what is still commonly overlooked in the mainstream

scientific community � the fact that matter (protons, electrons, photons, anything that

has a mass) is not the only reality.

We wish to understand the nature of our reality, but how can we do so if we are continually

examining only physical systems?

What about the role of non-physical systems, such as consciousness, or their interaction

with physical systems (matter)?

The True Power Of Gratitude If you are someone who takes time out of your

day to express gratitude for what you do have instead of worrying, stressing or living in

fear of what you don�t have then you may already be aware of how powerful this practice

is.

I find that sometimes, it can easily slip my mind and I will go several days without

this practice.

This is where the art of blessing your food comes in handy.

When I say my little prayer before I eat, I am not just expressing gratitude for the

food, but also taking a moment to express gratitude for anything else I am grateful

for in that moment.

Because I generally eat at least 3 times a day, that provides me with many opportunities

to feel and express this emotion.

Really, I have a lot to be grateful for aside from just being able to feed myself.

What Should You Say?

Really, you can say whatever you want!

I kind of switch mine up sometimes, but in general it goes a little something like this.

�Thank you for the birds and the bees,

And the flowers and the trees.

Thank you for this food that will nourish and heal my body

And provide me with the energy that I need to sustain myself today.

Thank you for the sunshine,

Thank you for this breath of life.

Thank you for my friendships,

And thank you for this beautiful day,

And a chance to be here now.�

Who am I saying this to?

The Universe, the Divine, God, Source, All That Is, my Higher Self, my Soul Family, my

Guides, Mother Earth � all of the above.

You can say this little prayer to whoever you want, technically it doesn�t even have

to be to anyone or anything specifically, your words are out there, directed at your

food may hold the capacity to change the vibration of what you are eating making it more nourishing

for your body.

I like to hold my hands on either side of my meal as if to send the blessings directly

to the food.

It�s the intention behind your words that matter.

Yes, sometimes I get some funny looks or catch some friends off guard when eating out, but

I have found this practice to be beneficial enough to simply not care.

Since I started this I have found that I don�t suffer from bloating, indigestion or discomfort

nearly as much and my skin has even cleared up.

Even if this is simply placebo, well then, I�m fine with that because it means my mind

is accepting the changes and making them so.

Where�s The Proof?

Well, this isn�t really something that can be proven that easily, but given the example

and experiments from the work of Dr. Emoto mentioned above, we can see how our thoughts

and intentions can actually change the structure of physical things.

If our thoughts and intentions can do that to water, what can they do to our food, which

often contains a high volume of water?

Taking this further you may want to question what these thoughts and intentions can do

for you as well.

How To Do The FLOSS DANCE Step By Step (FORTNITE Edition) - Duration: 15:24.

hey everyone today I'm going to show you how to do the floss dance, we're going to

do a little practice to it and we're going to build on the floss test by

going through a little disco move that uses the same movement and isolations, so

the foss dance was popularized by the backpack kid and it was repopularized by

being a dance move in the game Fortnite hence all my cosplay swag. for a

beginner dancer, there's actually a few good isolations you can learn from it. so

let's get into it. so you guys know I love cheesy dance

moves whether you're dancing alone, in a group, or with a girl. it communicates a

lot of things, it tells people that you're self deprecating, you don't take yourself

so seriously, that you're a fun person, so it's pretty disarming, so you should

always have cheesy dance moves in your arsenal whether it's for going out to a

club or for social situations such as going to a wedding or a cosplay

convention

so let's get into the Floss Dance. the Floss Dance itself is not so difficult

to do. the tricky part is doing it at double speed which the backpack kid does, so he

does it really fast and he also has really long arms, he's got a huge ape

index which makes it even more interesting to look at. okay so let's

start with the first thing - hip isolations. so you want to be able to move your hips

independent of your shoulders like that. this is super important because for guys

it really builds into other dance moves. so for example, a Latin basic, your hips

are moving independently of your shoulders, just like that. now beginners,

there's a tendency to kind of tilt your body like this. if you feel like you're

doing that check yourself in the mirror to make sure that your shoulders are

level and it's just your hips moving side to side. so do it with me on my

count one two three four five six seven eight one two three four five six seven

eight. Great. so if you're looking at a mirror and you put the

mirror in a distance you and you stare at yourself, it actually helps with the

isolation. so the next thing you want to do is incorporate the arms. the arms are

swinging opposite to the hips so as your hip bumps out to one side, your arms

swing out to the opposite side. so we're just going to keep them in front at

first so we're not going to be flossing yet like that.

and keeping a continuous rhythm so on my count five six seven eight one two three

four five six seven eight one two three four five six seven eight one two three

four five six seven eight one two three four five six seven eight

good job so this next part is where we're actually flossing and I think I'm

going to lose a few beginners here. so what's happening is that on every other

turn you're flossing so one hand goes behind one hand is in front. so I think

for this part lesson I'm gonna turn around and it's going to make a little

easier. okay so let's start off with both hands out to the left right hand hitting

like this now we're going to swing out in front like this and right hand behind

both in front, both in front, left hand behind now, both in front, both in front

right hand behind, both in front, front left hand behind, front front right hand

behind, front front left hand behind, front front left hand behind, good let's

restart that again to see if got it. so again starting with left hand in front

right hip hitting out, front right hand behind, front front left hand

behind, front front right behind, front front, left behind ,front front right

behind, front front left behind, front front right behind, front front left

behind, front front right behind. okay so now let's do it continuously on my slow

count and we're going to start off with this as our one. so on my count

great work. alright so now I got a little bonus move for you we're going to take

some elements of the floss dance and we're going to convert it into a disco

dance move. so we have the floss dance like this and

I'm going to slowly convert it, like this

until it becomes this. so the first move we're going to do is we're going to take

the hip movements from the floss dance which is a good basic move to have in your

repertoire and we're going to hit twice to each side just like that that one and

two three and four one and two three and four

so Angela actually teaches this for women

she calls it hip hits too but she uses levels like this give it a sexier hip

look we're going to simplify it, we're just going to keep them level like this

just hitting twice to each side. to help you with this, you got to turn your body

a little to the side that you're hitting

like that one two three four five and six seven

and eight hitting it twice each side again you gotta check out the club dance

for women program because it goes through it really slowly and it has lots

of practices. so after hitting twice to each side we're going to incorporate the

arms now. so Floss Dance has opposite arms to the

hips this time we're going to make the arms swing out with the hips like that

now this move almost becomes another cheesy dance. if you look, you swing

them out like that, it's kind of Carlton dance so yeah if you just add a bobble

in the head it's become another great cheesy dance move. I absolutely love the

Carlton dance but going back to this move, we're going to swing out the arms

like this just like we did in the floss dance, double hip hits with an arm swing

so hands are always in front this time now if you want to make it more like the

Floss Dance we're going to take one arm bring it out in front and the other one

goes behind so this kind of borrows from another dance program I have which is

the locking program and there's a waacking series designed for women where

your hands swing out like this. locking and waacking is great because

it's a fun dance with melee weapons but it's also a great move in itself for

women and guys. and you ask me, I think the locking

isolations would make a great dance emote in fortnite. okay so back on track

this time instead of hands coming out in front we're going to bring one hand in

front one hand behind like that as we do the double hip hits, just like that. so

try it with me we'll do the hip hits disco move on my count

starting by hitting to this side first five six seven eight one two three four
