Youtube daily google Jul 31 2018

See, unlike y'all, I get my news from a reliable news source.

Google Translate is keeping it real. They're telling me exactly what's up and

how it is. Hello ladies and gentlemen, this is Dante, and welcome to another

episode of Y'all Messed Up. I know. I'm wearing the same exact shirt as last

episode, which if you didn't see it, you should definitely check it out. I'll

float it up in an end card up there. It's about the McDonald's fight that happened

recently, so.. yeah and I know this video is not going to be about the Instagram

one like I promised last time, because this is an article that was sent to me

by one of my friends, and I just thought it's so ridiculous that I just have to

cover it. I have to talk about this, because look at this. It's... Google stop

suggesting people "sit on my face." Why did... okay, that's, you know, honestly this

girl's picture right here... that's my mood right now. That's exactly

how I feel. So in my Samsung episode of Y'All Messed Up, I said that divorce

lawyers need to be in their quarterly budget because there were gonna be lots

of things ruined by that photo leak, and now we've got auto correcting "sit on

my face." This is the year of the divorce lawyer. Let's call it that. 2018 is the

Year of the Divorce Lawyer, and you know how there's like different, you know, like

there are zodiac signs and all that stuff. Well no, 2018, this time of the year, I

dubbed thee... Year of the Divorce Lawyer. So let's dive right into this article,

and I'll go ahead and leave a link in the description below if you want to

read it for yourself.

Google has promised to fix a bug that auto-completes

to "sit on my face." One Twitter user said they were messaging their babysitter

and asked, "hey, are you free to sit," and came close to sending a dodgy message

after Google offered up "on my face" as a suggestion. I apologize if you hear my

dogs growling in the background. I got a lab/boxer mix and a chihuahua puppy in here.

*puppy growling*

I was SMSing... what? Who even says that anymore?

Who says SMSing? This is not 1990. This... nobody says that anymore. It's texting.

I was SMSing our babysitter with the default Android SMS app. I typed, "hey! Are

you free to sit" and autocomplete came up "with on my face."

Needless to say, I have never entered that string into my Android device. Me

too. Are you free to sit on "my face and" I love how it just casually just adds it

in there like an "and," like you're about to continue the conversation like normal

like... "UM, are you free to sit on... my face and possibly come over for dinner on

Thursday night?" Like no, like, I don't get it bro. Earlier this month, Google Translate

sparked fears of an imminent apocalypse after the translation at beginning... WHAT?

Began issuing a mysterious warning... what are you talking about bro?! Typing the

word dog into Google Translate 22 times while translating from Yoruba, a

Western African language, to English produced a sinister message about the

end of the world. What is this, 2012 all over again?

The Doomsday Clock is three minutes at 12:00. We are experiencing characters and

a dramatic developments in the world which indicate that we are increasingly

approaching the end times and Jesus's return. See unlike y'all, I get my news

from a reliable news source. Google Translate is keeping it real. They're

telling me exactly what's up and how it is. You heard it here first.

You know, everybody else is fake news, Google Translate... If you reduce the

number of times you type "dog," the message warned over an appearance from

the Antichrist. I don't even know how to end this video, bro. Because this is such

a crazy thing, and you know it just goes to show though that errors like this

happen to anybody. I mean, Samsung had a huge bug leak

earlier, and then now Google's had problems with their AI and everything,

auto predicting text, it just goes to show that it can happen to anybody and

these are errors that they are gonna pop up it's stuff that's gonna happen and,

you know, it's good that they're working on it very quickly to get it solved so

good on them for recognizing the issue and immediately fixing it. I mean, it's

Google so you can kind of expect that from an established

organization like that. So that's where I'm gonna go ahead and end this video, so

let me know what you think in the comments below and if you enjoyed this,

consider hitting subscribe and dropping a like. So thank you all for watching, and

as always, the most important part, have yourself a blessed day.

Now imma over here float the subscribe button, and over here I'm gonna float

some more episodes of Y'all Messed Up. Up here is gonna be the previous episode

about the McDonald's fight and down here is gonna be the playlist, so yeah that's

what I'm gonna do.

Privilege Escalation | Holey Beep | Google CTF #8 - Duration: 8:52.

Hello world, I'm Zanidd and today we will get the cake and we will eat it

Holy beep - pwn.

That's it. We have code execution on the fridge

You can already see the secret cake

Recipe wintermuteds todo list has mentioned that the door alarm on the fridge sounding all the time

This is usually a sign of the holey beep vulnerability before we do anything

We'll need to check out this

vulnerability

Because I've never heard of it.

So apparently. This is a real vulnerability with a CVE. Maybe we even

Have a step-by-step

Solution

Now that we've done a little mini research we can finally get to the cake

Let's download the file which I guess will be a zip file again, and let's go check it out

let me just clean up and

Find out what file type this is it's a zip archive as we would have guessed it already

We have the holey beep now. What is this? Holey beep a binary again

Let's just execute it for fun and profit

Holey beep period one period two - ok, let's say

- no such file or directory

Let's just create

Console file and then try to run it again

Okay, so I'm not getting anywhere here

We don't even have a server to connect to so I'm not I'm not sure if we have to connect to the server

We opened last time

But I'm guessing no because we didn't have to do this before and the holey beep

Doesn't seem to work on my local machine. So something is up

Okay, let's just try copying

The dev console device into the dev console device

This is taking a bit long, so maybe this will bear some fruits for us

hope you can see me better now and

We are still waiting

God damn it. How big is this console file? Wait, wait, wait, why do we make our lives heart?

Let's just create a link

I'm not sure if this is a smart idea but let's just try it for the sake of fun. And before we do that

We are going to create a snapshot because I'm not sure what this console

Actually does in Linux and I don't want

to ruin my system and then

Begin, everything from start or scratch.

So always make sure to

snapshot your virtual machine and

also always make sure to run your Kali in a

Virtual machine or a dedicated computer never on your main computer. Also, don't use it as main system

Let's just check out what happens

Except nothing. Let's actually run strings over this tool and

Maybe we'll be able to find something

Related to our f*cking cake

We will look for a proof-of-concept code

Well, okay, but that's just a local privilege escalation. What the hell what?

I'm totally lost here, but wait a minute

Let me just clean up

Why did I delete the exploit we have to connect to the server? Oh my god, I am so dumb

now that I

Know that I have to connect to the server

I connected to the server via the exploit with it last time and as you can see there is a dev here, so

I'm not sure we can switch directory and we

Have a console here

Which means that we also should have the holey beep we should have this on the server, too

so what I did here is just

find the file called Holey Beep, which is the same that we have on the server and

Now I'm trying to execute and we can do the same as before

but I'm not sure if that's useful in any manner and

Something happened what we could also do to make life

Easier is just find the file secret cake recipe

egg

recipe and

It happens to be that it's on the root of everything. Let's just change into the home directory

I forgot what he was called home user

Let's just go into home user all a bit seems to be an executable. So now

We would want to overwrite the dev stuff

with the cake recipe

So what we do is we create again a link but this time we do it on the server we connect

slash secret cake recipe to the

Console and we have of course first to make the dev

And we cannot create

maybe we can use the temp directories since the temp is

Open for everybody and it happens. There is already a dev

Console stuff in here. So we are going to create the link to what is called secret cake

recipe to

dev slash console and now we are going to run holey beep

We are going to run it just a bunch of

Times just to make sure we get everything

I'm not sure if this works or if we have to actually let's just

check out what this actually is and

Here it seems to be not really usable

I cannot read it unless I do a privilege escalation which the holey beep is

actually good for so let's just go into the

directory just try to

Execute it. The original one. I'm not sure why but we are going to make sure that we are going to kill it

as soon

As possible. We are going to try different methods to exploit this all

*BAM*

Hey, yes, nice

Ok, this worked. I just tried different methods of like stuff stopping the execution

The ioctl function used in this has a special behavior that allows us to I'm not sure how to explain it

but this method we used is to pass something that

will create an exception and

use a pipe with the same because if the pipe runs into an exception it blocks the write()

so we do this and

we read what's in the buffer of this program and

finally we get to the cake recipe and

now if you watch closely we have all of

the recipe and we have the last flag, which is

The cake wasn't a lie.

I

Repeat the cake wasn't a lie. Let's just enter this last thing in this pretty nice

CSS file and we have reached the end. I found the cake. Look at this some delicious cake. Mmm delicious

You should try this too. That's all for the Google capture-the-flag for me. Hit the like button if you reach

500 likes which is a pretty high expectation. I will do

Compilation of this challenge funny entertaining and educational and on Friday for my dear subscribers

That will be a v-loc. Also make sure to check in on Wednesday when I will tell you about a cool Wi-Fi hacking course

CSS Panel Overview - Google Web Designer - Duration: 5:57.

NATALIE: Hello

My name is Natalie

and I'm one of the engineers that works on Google Web Designer.

And in this video we're going to take a look at the CSS panel

and how it works and what you can do with it.

So when you edit an element's appearance

or position and layout in Google Web Designer

those changes end up as CSS

which the tool automatically generates for you.

So for example when I draw a simple div

if we go to Code view we can see the element here in the HTML

and the CSS style rule that was automatically

applied to it via the CSS class name.

And then if in Design view we for example give it a background color

then we can see that in Code view

this color change was set as the background-color CSS property

on this element's class.

So as you make changes and edit your elements

Google web designer will automatically

make a lot of decisions for you under the hood

regarding what CSS to create and where to put it

and this can be really powerful

but sometimes you want a little bit more control than that.

Of course you can always go into Code view

but as your file gets larger

hunting for the right rules can be pretty difficult.

So this is where the CSS panel comes in

The CSS panel is a CSS inspector and editor tool

and if you've ever used a tool

like Google Chrome's Developer tools the Styles panel

this is very similar same idea.

And any given point the CSS panel is showing you

all the style rules that apply to the element

in an order of precedence maximum to lowest precedence.

The one at the top is special.

This actually refers to the inline style declaration

so the style attributes on the element.

And the rest are just style rules.

And so whether you want to edit these style rules directly

or whether you want to have more fine-grained control

over the hierarchy of your CSS rules

the CSS panel can be very helpful.

So let me delete this element

and let's walk through a use case.

Let's say I'd like to create a button

and what's more

it'll be one of potentially multiple buttons

that I'd like to create in my document

and I'd like them all to be

within the same visual language

so let's say I have some style guide that I'm following

and it presents a specification for all the buttons

let's say they all have to have rounded corners

and a shadow and so on.

And so I'd like to mirror that

and create a hierarchy of styles

and I can do all of this with the CSS panel

without ever having to go into Code view.

So I have a div drawn here in the shape of a button

and I'd like to create a generic button class which will hold all the

styles that should apply to all the buttons on my page.

So I'm going to click this Add rule button.

Let me call it the baseButton

And let's give it some common button properties.

I might have a box-shadow

say I want it to be translucent black.

And let's say I'd like it to have rounded corners.

and you can see that the CSS panel automatically suggests

standard CSS properties for me

and I can use the up and down keys to swipe through them.

In this case I want border-radius.

I can hit tab to accept and then let's say 20 pixels.

The cursor should always be a pointer.

and let's give it some kind of background color

just so we have something to look at

so just a generic gray button.

So now let me define a couple of more specific buttons

let's say I'd like to have an OK button

and a delete button and they should inherit this baseButton style

but also have more specific styles on top of it.

So I'm going to select both of these new divs.

Click the Add rule button again.

and this time I would like to rather than creating a new style

I want to apply our existing baseButton class.

I'm just going to type that selector in

and all the styles for that declaration will get automatically pulled in.

And now I can just style each button one at a time

with just the styles that should apply

to that particular button on top of this base style.

So once again Add rule.

Let's call this one the okButton.

And the only thing that I want to be different about this button

is that I want the background to be green.

And then for the delete button same idea

but the background should be let's say maroon.

Much like in Chrome's developer tools you can debug your CSS

by using these blue check boxes to temporarily turn off

certain properties as though they were never defined.

This can be helpful when you have a complex system

of CSS rules and you want to see

what your element looks like without certain

style in play so if I uncheck this background green

we can see this element as though only the base style

and the other position properties applied

and if I'd like to take a look at all my buttons

say without the border-radius

I can toggle that on and off.

So to recap we've seen how we can use a CSS panel

not only to directly edit styles

but how to create an extensible system of style classes

all without ever having to go into Code view.

That's it for this tutorial.

Thanks for watching!

Landing page performance in Google Ads - Duration: 2:31.

New solutions from Google are now available

to help you improve your landing page performance.

Advertisers naturally spend a lot of time

thinking about their ads.

What gets people to click?

Do people click more on ads

that say "deluxe hotel suites"

or "free breakfast"?

Imagine a customer is searching on his phone for a great vacation deal.

Your ad appeals to him, and he clicks through to your landing page.

His experience on your landing page

becomes just as important as that first click.

And, because more customers use mobile devices to search,

having an effective mobile landing page is more important than ever.

The new landing pages page can help you optimize

your landing page performance.

You can see which URLs in your account drive the most sales,

and which ones may require your attention

so you can take appropriate action.

You can also see which sites are mobile friendly,

which can make the difference between converting or losing a customer.

After all, most mobile site visitors

leave a page that takes more than 3 seconds to load.

Use Accelerated Mobile Pages

to create the fastest mobile optimized landing pages.

By directing your search ad clicks to AMP landing pages,

you can create the super-fast and delightful mobile experience

that consumers expect.

Another new tool that will help you improve your landing pages

is Google Optimize.

It's a free visual editing tool

to A/B test different versions of your landing pages.

Here's an example of how it works:

Suppose our advertiser manages a hotel.

With Optimize, she can create different versions of her landing page

and see what works best:

a photo of her hotel

or a photo of a family relaxing by her hotel pool.

Once she launches her test,

Optimize calculates which landing page performs best,

helping our advertiser get more value from her Google advertising.

To get started, create an Optimize account

at optimize.google.com.

Then all you need to do

is link Optimize to your account.

Meet Release Engineers at Google - Duration: 1:57.

My name is Christine Israel. My name is Bill Rossier and I'm a release

engineer. A release engineer helps provide an environment for thousands of

engineers to combine their work together and ensure integrity across doing builds

and finally releasing out to the public. Currently I'm working in the Daydream

team, that's the virtual reality branch of Google. Most of my time is actually on

automating the actual release pipeline to make sure that what we are releasing

is good quality and the whole process is secure and repeatable. We also work on

lots of code to improve what we're doing and make it faster, more automated, more

accurate. The release engineer community at Google overall I think is a little

more senior and do tend to be the adults in the eng department and tell

people you know I know what you want to do but this is the right way to do it.

The culture at Google is very open. For example when something bad happens we're

open and honest about it and it's actually a joy to see the improvements

over time when we learn from stuff we should have done better. I think at

Google even the Impossibles are possible. I think that was one of the things that

really attracted me to Google as a company is that they had these

outrageous ideas and they're not afraid to think. I'm helping support the Android

platform which is being used right now today on over a billion devices in the

world and I love that.

Google Android Certification & Africa Scholarship Program | Ada's Developer Story - Duration: 2:23.

My name is Adaobi Frank and I'm a Google Certified Associate Android Developer.

I started mobile development when I left school,

and I was based in Abuja. That was where I was raised, that was where my parents lived.

My husband knew that I wanted to further my education and my career,

but over the years things had been really hard,

So we haven't had that opportunity.

So the next thing was to do certification courses to boost my resume, basically

make me more hireable.

I had a job that required me to move to Lagos for six months.

I was like the only female until a team from Andela came to join the project.

I think that was the first time I had even heard of the scholarship program to get the Google Android Certification.

When I got the email that I had qualified I called my husband, "Yes! We have the scholarship!"

I was struggling for time. I was already working a contract job in Lagos.

I would watch these videos on my way to work or on my way back,

so I would with my headphones and with my phone. All the time.

When I just finished the certification, I actually got a call for a job offer based in Abuja.

This is something that will make me earn...

More than ten times than the salary that I was earning before.

Ten times, I kid you not.

The interview process was something that would normally take like weeks,

was like, a couple of days.

'Oh, you are Android Certified? Great. Awesome.'

It was an amazing moment when she got the seal.

And the pay began to pick some bills: Rent, and go to help us to fix the cars.

She's been amazing. She's been supportive, she's helped me.

So now, I'm like working from my house.

And I can actually call myself a developer.

Not like, 'Oh, in my community I'm awesome.'

In the world. I am OK.

Awesome, we are trying to be awesome, but... OK.

Gerda Taro Google Doodle - Duration: 1:52.

The Search Engine Google is showing this Doodle in many Countries for celebrating Gerda Taro's

108th Birthday.

Gerda Taro was a German war photographer, and the companion and professional partner

of photographer Robert Capa.

Taro is regarded as the first female photojournalist to cover the front lines of a war and to die

while doing so.

She heavily contributed to the early days of the work accredited to the alias "Robert

Capa."

Though she was tiny in stature, Gerda Taro had the heart of a giant.

Known as "the little red fox," the ginger-haired photographer fearlessly turned her camera

lens on resistance fighters in the Spanish Civil War, producing black-and-white images

that brought the conflict to life for readers of the newspaper Ce Soir.

Born on this day in 1910 in Germany, she moved to France shortly after Adolf hitler was appointed

the chancellor of Germany.

In Paris she met Robert Capa, a fellow refugee three years her junior who taught her the

basics of photography.

Taro's reputation is still closely bound with that of Capa, who remains one of the

most famous war photographers of all time.

During the last five months of Taro's tragically short career, she worked alone in Spain before

becoming the first female photographer killed in action.

By the age of 26, her searing battlefield images made her a household name, even though

many of those images were misattributed to Capa.

Taro had a photographer's eye, a journalist's soul, and a warrior's courage.

Google Home update is making smart speaker even smarter ● Tech News ● #TECH - Duration: 2:16.

GOOGLE Home has received a huge new update that will make the smart speaker even smarter

thanks to some new useful functionality.

Google Home is an incredibly useful piece of hardware that allows users to control connected

aspects of their home with their voice.

However, one of the device's most useful features is its ability to create routines.

This allows lights to be turned on or off, or home temperatures to be adjusted with a

command.

The tech giant initially split routines into six categories: good morning, bedtime, leaving

home, I'm home, commuting to work and commuting home.

Google Home's handy functionality meant owners could choose to turn their phone off silent

as soon as they woke up or even adjust its volume.

The tech giant also allowed for custom routines to be created and for several wishes to be

granted at once with one voice command.

But now Google has given smart speaker lovers the ability to schedule routines for specific

times, greatly increasing the usefulness of the device when users are not able to give

a direct voice command.

The new functionality means Google Home could turn off lights in your home, assuming they

are compatible with the smart speaker, after you have gone to bed.

Droid Life said it spotted Home owners discussing the silently-released new feature on Reddit.

It then tested the feature for itself and noticed it was able to choose and time and

day for specific routines.

Users can make use of the new feature by going into the settings menu on the Google Home

app and pressing the "+" button.

This will create a new routine and take you to a menu featuring an option to "choose a

time for this routine".

This allows the user to put in the command they want to trigger the routine or the time

and days it should occur on.

After Google Home completes a routine it will let the user know by pushing a notification

to their phone.

Unfortunately, the tech giant's smart speaker is only available to offer routine functions

in the US.
