Youtube daily me Nov 29 2018

People joke about this topic all the time. I've had people come up to me and

say, "Oh so-and-so could really use you." have you ever wondered seriously what

can a psychologist do for me? When people find out that I'm a psychologist, I get

all kinds of different reactions. Some people want to tell me their whole life

story. Some people don't dare tell me anything

at all. It's just interesting what the perceptions are. You might have been

wondering what can a psychologist do for me. There are different kinds of

psychologists and I can't speak for all of them.

From a basic standpoint, I think my job as a psychologist is to illuminate the

obvious. Which is kind of cool. I get paid to tell people things they

already know. But there's obvious things that are unnoticed. Your clothing for

example. Do you notice it? Can you feel it? Yeah, it's obvious now but before I

mentioned it, it wasn't even noticed. Obvious but unnoticed. The fact that we're

speaking English. Honestly, did you notice? Some of you will say yes to that because

you're not native English speakers. And those are the ones who notice. If you

were raised speaking English primarily, you didn't

notice we were speaking English. It was just obvious but unnoticed. It's obvious

once I call it to your attention. There are processes in our mind that are just

like this they are obvious once they're called to your attention but completely

unnoticed up until that point. One of these processes is called metacognition.

Metacognition is a made-up word. Do we make up words in psychology because we

feel smarter when we can. Breaking it down, cognition means thinking. If we

place cognition right here on this level. metacognition is a higher level.

It's thinking about thinking. And do you notice that you can do this? That's good

news. Because metacognition creates a little space. And in that space, is where

choice exists. Some of the processes that are constantly going on in our own mind

in our cognition are obvious but completely unnoticed up until the time

that they're called to your attention. That's what I do as a psychologist. I

think that's what people in my industry do. We help you to see those processes in

a metacognitive way because once you go to the metacognition level, then we enact

choice. And that's huge. We go through life sometimes not even

seeing that it's a choice. And I can tell you until you see it as a choice, it's

not. You will simply roll with whatever you're programmed, train, taught and

educated to do. And it's not necessarily by choice at that point. It's just your

programming. Programming like English you know, we talked about earlier. I don't

choose to speak English, I'm programmed to speak English. Well, with metacognition,

I can see that, "Wait a minute, English is not the only language, it's not

necessarily the best language. It's just the one that I'm programmed with." Could

we pick another one? Yes, we could. And that brings up all of the issues around...

Well, I'm not used to the other language, I'm not fluent in the other language,

right. So, you enter into a practice process. That's the other thing that I do

with my clients is to create for them opportunities to practice a new language.

A new programming, if you will. Where before, "My life is terrible, horrible,

awful, no good, got stuck in depression, anxiety." Whatever

it is. To speak a new language of, "You know what? My life is awesome. My life

rocks." And I've got the power to improve it from here. Both of those are positions.

But until you see it as a choice, it's not. The world that we work in in

psychology tends to be based around feelings and thoughts and beliefs and

relationships. All of which are affected by our previous programming. Most of

which were not even aware of because we just roll with our programming instead

of experiencing our choice. One of the biggest things that psychologists can do

for you is to help you see the processes that

are going on in your own mind clearly enough that you can get back into a

choice position. And determine for yourself. See, I can't tell you how to

think. I don't have that kind of authority. Plus it would just tick you

off anyway. I just want you to see that you are thinking. That thinking has

predictable results on all of your outcomes. Your relationships, your

finances, your health, your mental health, your happiness. Thoughts have

consequences. I and my other colleagues in the industry of psychology want to

help you get out of your own way. Now, I have to add a little disclaimer here.

Because none of the psychologists that I know, including the one on the screen

right now. None of us have this all figured out. We're just fellow human

beings on the planet. What I've discovered however is that

principles determine all of life's outcomes. And there are certain

principles that by virtue of my practice and what I've been able to do here for a

quarter of a century. I have observed that certain principles determine

certain outcomes with happiness, for example. Positivity. You've heard this.

Forever, right? Just think positive. Does that annoy you too? Probably depends on

who's saying it and why. I've figured out through my practice and what all my

clients have taught me used over these years, why? That is absolutely very

literally true. The positivity is a choice in that it matters and that just

think positive, we'll take the just out of that phrase and it's more accurate.

Think positive. How do you do that? There's 2 processes.

Evaluation and creation. I went over that in another video. And in fact, you know

what? I would be happy to share with you my mini book. In fact, you know what? I

would be willing to share with you a free digital copy of my mini book.

Portable Positivity. I'm not trying to sell this to you. What I'm offering here

is an insight into the principles that I have learned through 24 years

of clinical practice where I've figured out how positivity works and how you can

immediately implement it in your life. I wrote it up as a mini book. There's a

model in here that describes 2 processes in your mind. Evaluation and

creation. You can't turn either one off and your imagination drives both of them.

You can get a free digital copy. Just check down in the description for the

link and enjoy. This is what I do in my work is a psychologist. I've been

speaking specifically about what I do as a psychologist. Other psychologists have

different specialties, different areas of practice. I used to for example do child

custody evaluations for the court. Some of the videos here on the channel are

about that. I don't do that kind of work anymore but I share what I've learned in

these videos so that you can benefit from it. I did a doctoral dissertation on

bedwetting. Who knew? I know more about that than you ever want to know. But you

what? If you want to know what I know, go see the videos that I've done on

bedwetting. Different psychologists have different focuses or areas of practice.

And so, how they can help you might differ from how I can help you. Where I

focus on things like positivity and parenting and relationships and

entrepreneurship and productivity in the workplace. See, those are the things that

light me up. Another psychologist might focus on research or on a particular

educational approach that helps to maximize learning or whatever it might

be. It's just like any other field or industry where there are different

subspecialties. Poked around a little bit and see what you can find out about the

particular areas that you're interested in. Or leave me a comment down below, send

me an email. Engage with me in ways that I can help to answer those questions for

you too. I'd be happy to do that. Hey, Live On Purpose family. I am so

impressed that you're still here. That you're listening to the outro for this

video. And because of that, you get a special bonus. Don't tell anybody else.

But down there in the description is a link where you can get a free copy, a

digital copy of mini eBook. Portable Positivity. Check it out in the

description. Thanks for watching.

English Tutor Nick P Music Lyrics Explained (7) Take Me Out to the Ball Game - Duration: 9:54.

Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Music Lyrics seven. All right the song today is

'Take Me Out to the Ballgame. " All right So let's uh let's look at the

note here. The original "Take Me Out to the Ball Game' was produced in 1908. So

it's more than a hundred years old now and sung by Jack Norworth and Albert Von

Tillzer. Good. It is considered to be the anthem for professional baseball.

Remember if we say like an anthem, like a country has an anthem , just for the

baseball organization. You know, the whole baseball league. It's almost like an

anthem. It's, it's a song everybody, doesn't matter what city you're from.

This is played at all the ballgames. So it's it's an anthem for the whole you

know, sport itself. Okay. For professional baseball usually played during the

middle of the seventh inning of a baseball game. Yes. So if you've ever gone

to a stadium in a baseball game, they have what they call the seventh-inning

stretch. Which is a little bit of a longer break in between innings.

Sometimes people do actually get up and stretch and this is the time when

they will play this song. They will play this song "Take Me Out to the Ball game'

during that period. All right. Let's continue. "Take Me Out to the Ball Game. " It

is said to be the third most common song sung by Americans. That actually kind of

surprised me. So out of all the songs that are out there you know , you think

all these big pop hits and everything else. But you know this just never goes out.

This is a classic. It stays around. It's sung at ballgames. So the only two songs

that are sung more by Americans are " Happy Birthday" and "The Star-Spangled

Banner ' which is the national anthem. So basically. So only behind, behind only

Happy Birthday and Star-Spangled Banner and of course Take Me Out to the

Ballgame is number three. Okay. Let's continue.

All right. Now actually it's time to, to go over the song. Now and just like usual,

you know, I'll read it we'll, we'll cover any vocabulary that

needs to be covered. So let me start and this is the old one. This is the

original one. Sometimes you don't hear this whole song. Sometimes you just hear

the chorus played at ball games, but this is the full song here. And it's, it's

supposed to be like Katie Casey is supposed to be a a girl's name. And this

girl was just, I guess crazy about baseball. And so that's how they

originally made it. So let me start. Katie Casey was baseball mad.

Well baseball mad, if you're mad about something, characterized by uncontrolled

excitement or emotion. Well, basically like we say today. You're

crazy for something. So she was baseball mad she was crazy for baseball. All right,.

Let's continue. All right. Katie Casey was baseball mad. Had the fever and had it

bad. All right. Again if we say fever, fever means it's a

strong enthusiasm, especially one that affects a lot of people. Okay, good. Again,

let's let's continue. So Katie Casey was baseball mad. She had the fever and had it

bad. Just to root for the home team crew. Every sou' Katie blew. Okay. So here just

to root, remember if we say to root . To root means to cheer for.

So she goes to the baseball game to cheer for her team. Come on guys. Let's do it. All

right. So like we say just to root for the home team. All right. Remember home

team. That's the team where that stadium is , is their home. That's where they play

most of their games. So the other team is usually referred to as 'the away team ' And

of course you know most of the fans in the stadium, they will be cheering for

the home team. Usually, I think it's more than ninety percent would be you know

the one supporting the home team. You know because they're ones that go to the

stadium to watch it. So anyway again let's so let's go on here. So Katie Casey

was baseball mad, had the fever and had it bad. Just to root for the hometown

crew. Every su' Katie blew. All right. The hometown crew, well, the

crew is like the team here. Every su.' All right. Now this is an old use.

Like we say, the word su' in in the early 1900s, it actually was a French coin, but

it was used in America to just mean a low denomination coin. You know like a

penny or a nickel or something like that. So we say su.' If she , if she blew every

su.' Remember blew is the past tense of blow. When you blow money

it means you spend a lot of money on things that you don't necessarily need.

But she loved baseball so much that she blew all her money on going to the games

and watching the games because she was a baseball fanatic, a great fan. So that's,

that's the song they had . Okay. So every su' Katy blew. Yeah and then we go to the

next part. On a Saturday, her young beau. All right.

well beau is boyfriend. Remember it's a word we get from French . Sometimes.

So it's kind of cool. We still use it sometimes. So we could say somebody's beau.

As a cool way to say somebody's boyfriend. You know , we usually say it

about a girl and that's her boyfriend is her beau. And so we still pronounce it

the French way. So yeah, so let's continue. So on a Saturday her young beau called

to see if she'd like to go to see a show. You know or to see a show probably you

know, like take you to the theater or the movies or something like that. You hear, it's very

common. That's what you might ask on a date.

But Miss Katie said no. I'll tell you what you could do. And then of course,

this is the chorus. This is the part that everybody knows and everybody can sing

this. Take me out to the ball game. Take me out with the crowd. You know, maybe she

liked to be with the crowd and all the people around. Maybe it was more

excitement. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

All right. Cracker Jacks. Most Americans do know this. This is a box and this is

exactly what it is a box of caramel-coated popcorn. So popcorn

already prepared in a box. It's, it's covered with caramel. It's, it's

a snack a lot of kids like to eat. And there's usually some peanuts in it. I can

remember as a kid sometimes you used to see it advertised on TV. I think of it when you hear

candy coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize. because they always put a little prize in

there for children too. That's what you get with Cracker Jacks.

You know Cracker Jacks was... So they was often sold at the ballgame and I guess

it was sold then. I think company's very lucky that he

included their product in the song. You know way back then. It might have helped

them. So anyway let's get back to this. He said so she says I'll tell you what you

could do. All right. You again so the usual chorus. Take me out to the ball game .Take

me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks.

I don't care if I never get back. Meaning like she loves being at the game so much,

She don't care if she ever goes home. She'd like to stay at the ball game

all day. All right. Let me, yeah. I don't care if I never get back let me root root

root for the home team. So she wants to cheer cheer cheer for the home team. If

they don't win it's a shame. You know it's a pity. For this one, two, three

strikes you're out in the old ball game. So of course if you know, if you know

baseball , you know if the player swings and misses

that's a strike and three strikes they're out. So that's what we say so uh yeah if

they don't win it's a shame. For its one, two, three strikes you're out at the old

ball game. All right then we go into the next verse. Yeah. Katie Casey saw all the

games knew the players by their first names. So, yeah she knew all the team. She

knew all the players. You know. She was a real diehard fan. Told the umpire he was

wrong, all along. So I guess if he made a call I was against her team, of course

he's hey you're wrong. You're blind what are you doing ?

Something like that. Good and strong. When the score

was just 2-2. Meaning it was a tied score. You know. Probably going into late

innings . Katie Casey knew what to do. Just to cheer up the boys she knew. She's

talking about the home team that she's cheering for.

She made the gang sing this song. And then the chorus is just repeated again.

Which is you know, take me out to the ball game. Take me out to the with the

crowd. So basically that's what she does. So she'll get the whole stadium to sing

it. And this, this, this song really caught on. And it lasted through all the years

and it's actually played at every single ballgame usually in the middle of the

seventh inning. So that's why it's the third most common song that is actually

sung by Americans. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it. I hope it was informative. If

you ever go to a baseball game, now you'll, you'll , you'll have an idea

what this song means. Anyway, Good bye. See you next time.

Clean W/ Me (decluttering my closet) | Maddy McGee - Duration: 16:23.

Hi, I can't really see myself right now. So I'm just hoping that I'm in focus.

So, I

Let me just tell you something my closet is a disaster, um

It's a straight-up

Disaster I'm looking at it right now and it's,,,

a disaster. I really have been putting off cleaning my closet for a while now

And I think it's time to actually clean it which is not gonna be fun. So I'm currently sitting

So I'm currently sitting

in a bag of laundry, um

This one bag. It's not a back a basket of laundry. This one I'm sitting in is clean, but this one behind me

Not so much. I've already taken them out of my closet as you can see because this is my bed right here

And obviously my closets not

where my bed is. I figured that I would take you guys along with me

to clean my closet

So that's what we're gonna do

I'm gonna put on some music and you're gonna watch me clean i dont think im gonna time-lapse it because sometimes that just annoys me

so I think I'm just gonna do like

regular motion

Of me cleaning so you can see the process

*sighs*

Of what I'm about to show you

*makes an extremely inhuman gulping noise*

Im probably hyping is up to make it sound worse than it actually i- maybe im not because its pretty bad.

When you look at my room

Except for that bowl I just pushed out of the way. My room is always clean

as you can see

but my closet... Not so much

i literallyyyy ehhh

When I do laundry see the thing is I live in an apartment complex an apartment complex

That doesn't have a washer and dryer inside the apartment. So I have to go to the laundry room over there

which is like

50 feet away but whatever. It's still it's it feels far when you're carrying a giant the laundry basket full of dirty clothes

Anyway, and it costs money, whatever

Every time I do my laundry

My closets clean when I'm done doing it because I hang my clothes up most the time

sometimes I just leave the clothes in my basket like I'm

did now, anyway, I hang my clothes up I make sure my closets clean and it's a happy place that I can be and

not feel

Stressed out because of the mess

however

as time goes by I tend to take my dirty clothes and throw them on the floor and

it just becomes this big pile and

Somehow it becomes a pile of just everything not just clothes but books and makeup somehow

and

everything so

We're gonna try and

Clean it up and I'm gonna take you guys along with me and like i said, I'm gonna put on some music

*another weird af noise from my throat*

what happened with that? Why did I just make that noise?

Im gonna put on some music

and, clean.

All right, let's go.

Let me just show you what's going on my closet here. Oh

My god, okay. Um,

I *sighs*

Sorry, what do I do?

That's my floor. As you can see.

I don't know what to do.

This is my

dresser and

There's a shelf above me too. That's that's what that looks like. I've got my lights up there that

Need dealt with I've got my one of my ukuleles there. I have a bra right there. I have an empty box is this empty

Kind- well what's in there is empty. I have an empty box of ornaments and then I have paper

*It Makes Me Happy by DJ Quads starts playing*

*Ride of Joy by DJ Quads starts playing*

What do I do

So obviously everything's out except for my mirror my dresser and..

oh there's no shoes

*whistles annoyingly*

Actually, I know how long ive been doing this for.

About 30 minutes

*burps* And it's felt like an hour

*Ride of Joy by DJ Quads continues playing*

*Totally by DJ Quads starts playing*

Hey guys, what's up?

so I just realized I never actually showed you my closet because my camera died when I was in the middle of doing it and

Then I fell asleep while I was charging the battery for my camera

Um, I'm just gonna record it on my phone because I really don't feel like sending the footage over and crap like that

It's just so annoying. So that's what it looks like there's two towels hanging there. But whatever that's totally fine. That's my dirty laundry

That's my clean laundry that I still haven't hung up right there. This is my shelf which honestly

Still doesn't look that great, but it's better than it was before that's for sure

These are clothes that I'm giving Taylor because she wants them and I think they're cute, but this doesn't fit me

Right. I'm not a dress person

These don't fit me

right

and I just got tired of this green jacket because I used to wear it all the time and I just don't even I

Don't think it looks that great on me. So yeah, that's my closet. Oh, I go- have something so exciting

to you tell you guys wait, okay.

Soooooo I am doing

VLOGMAS THIS YEAR *booing & cheering in background*

i tried doing vlogmas last year and I started too late and then I just kept not posting because I

Really don't know why I think it was just because it's not the whole

Recording every day and like editing it in one day and everything

Which I still don't know if I'm gonna record, edit and post all in one day

I think I actually am gonna try and do that that way day one is on December 1st and everything like that. So

You'll get the vlogs on the right days

But anyway, what I was saying was it's not that it was that why I didn't do it

but I had to do it on my phone last year and

my phone

Was literally always dying. So I literally couldn't get any footage. I've been playing with my hair

ive been playing with my hair so much cuz it looks stupid right now, whatever. I

Literally, my phone would just keep dying. And so I couldn't get any footage and then if I did get footage and

i needed to edit it, it was dead, and I'm not home all the time

So I can't just like plug it in when I need to sometime. So it was really hard

but now that I have a camera I don't have to worry about

Recording editing and just being on my phone all on one device

I can record I'm still gonna edit on my phone because I don't have a good editing software on my computer.

I want to get

Final cut pro, but I don't have a MacBook. I have an HP Chromebook

So yeah, I am gonna be doing vlogmas this year, and I'm so excited about it. I literally can't wait it's in

its the 28th

Three days, *inhales with excitement it's in three days. Oh my god. I'm so excited. This video is going

woah my hair. this video the one I'm recording right now is going up today

I literally just have to add this footage that I'm doing right now and then add some music and it'll be up

I don't know what time it is

1:57 so it should be up. I'm gonna say by 3:30

But I really just wanted to tell you guys that I'm super excited about doing vlogmas this year. So

See you guys on December 1st. Bye

When Chester committed suicide I was so sad, he saved me many times. So now I'm here to save others. - Duration: 5:12.

Hello my name is Leah Justyce.

I WELCOME you to my channel, here I hope to INSPIRE YOU TO BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF YOU.

I am just about to go to work, hence being in the car.

I also make vids when I feel like making vids, most of the time I am thinking about so many

things while I am working that I get in the car and bang I make them.

I work most days all day then I come home and actually work on my websites and my other

businesses all day.

So when it comes to being in the car this is like sitting on the toilet time, you know,

you know what I mean.

How the really great ideas come to you when you are sitting on the toilet, that is what

happens.

I get in the car and blah I have to tell my story.

I run, I started running again.

I used to run to Linkin Park, ok and I loved it, loved it.

That was my running music and so when Chester committed suicide I, I could not run anymore.

I couldn't, I was so sad.

Their music helped me when my son was stabbed.

When you deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the hardest thing for me was, I have no

social network.

I had no family, I had no friends to even understand what I was going through and you

really actually need people that have dealt with it.

That have moved on that have let go.

To communicate with, because people never understand what you are going through until

they have dealt with it.

You know and when they are dealing with it, please everyone, the whole world stop turning

because of everyone sort of feels that they are the center of the universe.

So please Leah stop doing everything and pay attention to those people.

Give your all to them, that was my life you know that?

That was my life!

The reason why I started this channel was becauseI ipicked myself off the floor many

times, many times.

I can actually talk about that, what I just spoke and I did not cry.

I did not cry, so thank you Chakra meditation.

I have been doing some really massive spiritual things in the last few days.

I have been on this journey really all of my life and there were these massive lessons

that had to happen.

So my son had to get stabbed because, if you heard the way he talks now he is amazing.

He always was but now it comes from here, it comes from his soul what he talks about.

Amazing, amazing.

You know my daughter is 10 and she is the same and I just go ahhh my children.

They just inspire me so much I tell you.

I wish that all parents felt like that about their children, I do wish that my parents

felt like that about me.

Still today, my dad is dying.

He is really really sick and so there will be a post I am sure that he passed.

I think my dad was more spiritual than he thought cause things that he had said in his

lifetime, but because he was so angry he never fixed his soul now he is really sad.

Because he is worried to sleep, because now he does not know now he is scared of death

you know.

That is when you know that things aren't good.

I think when they become scared of death, sad, sad.

So that's that, that is this post.

It has not become a good one has it?

I wanted to say that I am running, that is what I wanted to say.

That I am finally able to run because I have been able to remove that block of how much

they meant to me and Chester saved me.... so many times.

Their music saved me so many times, and then he did that so you know I was just like shit

what hope do we have.

Thats what I thought last year, what hope fo we have?

That is what I thought, you know.

The hope that we have is the choice that we make, we make the choices to live the way

that we want to live.

You know.

That is the way I speak now, the way that I am now.

My name is Leah Justyce I hope to inspire you to be the best version of you if not I

hope I make you smile.

I want to say just do what you want to do, research, look into things that really make

you feel better for yourself.

Can you feel the shift in the world?

Well I can that is for sure.

Tough Questions: Does God hate me? | #TheWord s2e12 - Duration: 6:27.

Has anybody ever told you that God is mad at you, or mad at something that you do?

Do you really believe that?

Let's dive into it today!

(selah – musical break)

Well, sziasztok, brothers and sisters, and jó reggelt, or perhaps jó napot, or jó

estét, depending on what time of day you're watching this!

Welcome to Mission: Zer0!

If this is your first time here: my name is Shawn, and this is The Word With Friends,

the show where we take a deep dive into language and communications in order to bring us all

closer together!

People really Love to talk about the things that God hates, and particularly to point

out in you, and what you do, the things that God hates.

But let's take a really deep dive into that.

Most of the time when God is talking about something that He doesn't like He uses the

word "abomination" or some form of "abomination."

And, in fact, it's used about 152 times in the Bible.

But what does "abomination" actually mean?

(selah – musical break)

The most common Hebrew word for "abomination" is the word תּוֹעֵבָה, tow'ebah,

and tow'ebah means "that which you recoil from; that which is disgusting."

It's the kind of thing like *ugh!* But the references to it are things like: engraving

idols, worshipping idols, men wearing women's clothing, women wearing men's clothing,

lying, cheating, using unbalanced scales, breaking the common law – so this, in the

modern day, would be like speeding.

These are pretty granular, really kind of strict things that God calls an abomination

in the Bible.

Well, is that maybe just an Old Testament thing?

Did He soften by the New Testament?

(selah – musical break)

In the Greek, the most commonly used word for "abomination" – it's actually

used all 6 times that "abomination" is said in the New Testament -- is βδέλυγμα,

bdelygma, and bdelygma means "to turn away from something that's really gnasty."

Literally it means "to turn away from something that stinks."

This would be, like, smelling spoiled milk, or that wound that your friend wants to show

you that's all open and gross, or – you know – walking in on your parents having

sex.

This is something that's just like *aaaugh!* "Just get it away from me!"

In the book of Luke 16:15 Jesus says, "the things that are celebrated by man stink, and

make God turn away."

SO that sure doesn't seem like He softened from the Old Testament to the New Testament,

but can you… can you see it?

Do you get the thread, there, that I'm about to pull on?

(selah – musical break)

Let's go forward to the people who really tied this idea of "abomination" together,

and that is the Romans.

In Latin, the word for "abomination" is made up of the prefix "ab-" which means

"away from" -- like, that way -- and "ominari", and "ominari" means "to prophesy"

or "to forebode."

So "abomination" is "to prophesy away from" or "to forebode away from"?

What does that mean?

It means that "nothing good can come of this."

It means you're turning away from something that's not going to be good to watch.

It's like when you find your kid picking their nose and they start to eat it.

It's really gross; you don't want to watch that.

But it doesn't make you hate your kid.

It doesn't mean that you're going to throw them away or tell them that they're evil

and wrong and they're going to burn in a pit.

No!

You get a little grossed out and then you help educate them, "Hey, don't do that

because it's gross" or "because it's not accepted" or whatever.

This is the thing we so fundamentally get wrong when we read the word "abomination"

in the Bible.

Nowhere did any of it ever, at all, mean that God hates like we mean when we say the word

"hate."

It means "I hate it" like "Oh, that's gross; I would not do that."

But it doesn't mean that He thinks lesser of you, that He beats you down about it.

It just means no good can come of it.

(selah – musical break)

That's what the word "abomination" means; it doesn't mean something that's evil

and hated, and that you need to punish people for, or that God is going to punish people

for.

It's just something gross.

Here's a key point about that: if you don't like pickles, pickles are an abomination to

you.

But if your kid likes pickles: it's not an abomination for them.

My exhortation for us this week – heck, for this LIFETIME: stop judging other people's

pickle-eating.

You don't know if it's an abomination for them or not in God's eyes.

And even if it is, it's not for you to browbeat them about it.

And by the same token, stop letting other people judge YOUR pickle-eating!

You know if what you're doing is gross to you, or gross to God, and He'll work on

that with you.

But don't let other people shame you, and beat you down and make you feel negative about

it.

Take this message today, whatever half of it convicts you or emboldens you, or whatever

you can take, and use it to become the you-iest you you can possibly be.

And may God pour out the blessings of temperance, and understanding, and perspective, and calibration

in us, so that we can stop this back-and-forth of misunderstanding what "abomination"

means and what it is that He wants from us.

And I Love you SO much!

I really do!

Peace out!

Wladimir Klitschko: What Drove Me to Crazy Boxing Success | Inc. - Duration: 5:21.

- It's easy to win one championship, so easy.

Like, relatively easy.

But it's so complicated and difficult

to remain successful for a longer time.

It's probably the most complicated challenge.

Obsession, the definition of one's thoughts

or feelings by persistent idea,

image, or desire.

(uplifting music)

Hi, I'm Wladimir Klitschko.

I'm former world heavyweight boxing champion.

I'm having in my life one person

that is always, has challenged me

and continue challenging, that's my brother.

My older brother.

Vitali is five years older and he always showed me the way,

how to get things done.

I definitely wanted to be as good as him.

He was an athlete.

He started to travel

and I was a kid in Soviet Union.

As a kid, you had, in the Soviet times,

no chance to get outside of the border.

So you have to be an athlete or a politician

to be able to do that.

So for a politician, I was too young.

For an athlete, it was perfect.

So I found this tool, the sport of boxing,

to make my dream come true and travel.

When I started my boxing career, I lost my first two fights,

believe it or not.

Even though I lost my two fights,

I learned through those losses a lot.

If you want to be successful, you know,

you have to know your failures.

And I think in a certain way, it's a mistake

if you always concentrate on success.

And eventually you will fail.

You will.

And then we'll see the qualities of your character.

(suspenseful music)

I remember, I was running

on the street, back in Kiev, Ukraine, 1996.

The Olympic Games were coming up

and I set for myself a goal.

I want to be nominated

to participate in the Olympics.

And not just to participate

and be part of the Olympic moment.

I want to win gold medal.

Well, when I said to friends of mine

in a very small circle,

"Guys, I'm definitely gonna go to the Olympics

"and if I'm gonna go to the Olympics, I'm gonna win it."

They were laughing about me.

- [Announcer] This really is the fight

that the world want to see.

- [Second Announcer] He's a rather mechanical

sort of a fighter, Klitschko,

but he's got a good left jab.

Wolfgramm, who's ever so slowly,

and eventually he'll tear you,

and there it is.

[ [Announcer] Yeah, he hurt the giant Klitschko there

with that lovely right hand there

and then an uppercut after it.

- [Announcer] It's three all now,

and a nice combination put together by Klitschko.

- [Second Announcer] Klitschko sparring with both hands.

He's got a one point lead now.

Klitschko's got on target and he's going away

to take the gold medal.

- This meaning of this gold medal and achievement

was motivation for me to move on

and get more.

I got this new goal in my life.

I wanna turn professional.

I wanna be world champion.

I was 24 years old.

And I remember walking in the ring and thinking,

this is my night.

No one else.

I better die than lose.

(suspenseful music)

Eventually, I was holding this title.

The world champion title, the belt,

after the match.

You always dream about winning the titles,

winning the titles back,

being successful, and suddenly, it's happening.

You can work for these goals so long

and go through a lot of sweat,

pain, mental or physical,

and eventually you're getting it.

So sweet.

I never felt the satisfaction,

feeling of satisfaction for a long time.

It was just seconds.

I got it, I achieved it.

Well done, Wlad.

Keep on going.

Next camp.

Next fight.

(suspenseful music)

To win it once or twice, it's okay.

Difficult, but manageable,

but to remain this disciplined,

just do the same drills

over and over and over and over again

is the most complicated.

If you're not obsessed about your goal,

choose something else.

It's not for you.

(upbeat music)
