I'm Dan on your inside team at Growella and this is today's Mortgage Minute-and-a-Half.
Errybody in the club gettin tipsy… and they're getting mortgage-approved, too.
New data from Ellie Mae whose software handles more than 3 million mortgage applications
annually shows that more than seventy-five percent of people who apply for mortgage loans
are getting approved for their loans by their lenders.
It's not a new thing, either.
Ellie Mae's showing similar closing rates going back two years.
For two years, the doors to homeownership have this open.
And meanwhile, new mortgage products like HomeReady and Home Possible from Fannie Mae
and Freddie Mac, those are out there and they're helping first-time and repeat buyers get approved
and into new homes.
Yet, when we hear from U.S. consumers, nearly half think it'd be difficult to get a mortgage
today.
There's a disconnect here and you can't know what options you have until you go and apply
so go and apply.
Talk a lender about what's possible and go get that mortgage approval.
Better late than never but never late is better, and mortgage rates are on time because if
you just bought a house this past weekend, you're digging today's lower rates.
Four days out of five, rates are down.
Conforming loans, FHA loans, USDA and VA loans which always come in low -- everything's down
this Monday.
And when your quote, your rate will vary based on your loan size, your credit score, and
where you live.
So don't compare rates with your friends.
Compare them with your lenders.
Shop around, shop quick, and find the loan that works best for you.

but to your lender, even more important is the number that measure how much you earn
versus how much you spend.
It's called your debt-to-income ratio and it's the basis for nearly every mortgage approval
made today.
Even more than your credit score, debt-to-income can reflect your true ability to repay, which
makes lenders want to say yes.
In general, lenders want debt-to-income levels below forty-five percent, which means that
for every hundred dollars you earn, no more than forty-five dollars is committed to ongoing
debts such as car loans, student loans, credit cards, and others debt types.
Sometimes, lenders will limit you to a percentage point in the thirties.
It all depends on your loan, and on your lender which is one of the reasons why it's good
to shop around.
What one mortgage company turns down another might choose to approve.
And you may not want to borrow as much as a lender will give you.
So, what's a healthy range for your household DTI?
That's a question best answered by you.
And your lender can help with the math.

Why Can't the Universe Be a Brute Fact? - Duration: 2:37.
Some atheists argue that the universe is a brute fact the universe just exists
they say and that's that it has no explanation at all
this was Bertrand Russell's position in his classic 1948 BBC radio debate with
father Frederic coppleson how can we respond fundamentally atheists who hold
to this position or denying the principle of sufficient reason which
states that everything that is has a sufficient reason for existing but as
some philosophers point out the denial of the principle of sufficient reason is
at the same time a denial of rational argumentation including any argument for
brute facts consider how when we accept the conclusion Socrates is mortal we do
so based on the premises all men are mortal and Socrates is a man in other
words we recognize the conclusion as rational because the premises are true
and the argument is logically valid but if brute facts are possible and the
principle of sufficient reason is false well then it follows that our conclusion
Socrates is mortal might have nothing to do with the truth of the premises and
their logical structure similarly the conclusion things like the universe can
exist without a reason for their existence might itself be a brute fact
and have no connection to truth or logic but if that's the case well then we
would have no reason to accept it as true so the denial of the principle of
sufficient reason undercuts any ground one might have for doubting the
principle as in Russell's example of the universe therefore the position is self
refuting and thus unreasonable as to what the explanation of the universe is
we'll have to save that for another time if you want to learn more about this

DAY 46 OF MY JUICE FAST JUICE FASTING CAN YOU MIX FRUITS AND VEGGIES IN A JUICE?????? - Duration: 3:47.
hey guys this is a juicing question that I've been getting questions a lot in my
juice and groups and I had promised that I would stop making my update videos
once a day and then it would be like a marathon video one or two videos after
my update video with the answers to the questions that people are asking me in
my facebook juicing groups and also on my juicing page that I personally have
on my own and the question is can I juice and when I do juice can I add
fruits and vegetables and the answer to that is yes and the reason why I say yes
is it's my opinion that you can use juice and vegetables because it has
worked for me the ailments that I've had it has helps with as fathers my hair
growing like a weed the whites of my eyes are really white
it's definitely detox in my eyes the color of my eyes are more vibrant my
skin has cleared up my overall marks on my body from detoxing and stuff coming
out through my skin and making marks have diminished my mood swings my
anxiety has gotten better my sleep has improved a hundred percent and just my
overall health as a whole has gotten better so juicing with fruits and
vegetables I see nothing wrong with it I'm on my forty six day of my juice
fasts and I juice fruits and vegetables so that it tastes better with the
sweetness from the juice and as of the forty six day Monday I weighed myself
and for my week seven I lost one solid pound which
is a is a good stock for the you know the the full seven days that I have to
go through juicing in Sunday's the weigh-in I'm trying to go Weis lose five
pounds this week and I only have four pounds now I have to worry about so as
of today I'm 41 pounds down and that's all from juicing fruits and vegetables
so yes I do recommend in my opinion and from my experience that you use fruits
and vegetables now people who have diabetes you wouldn't use as many fruits
but in some cases you may want to sweeten up your your green juices with a
little bit of some type of a fruit so that you're able to sustain being on the
fast longer I'm not a doctor you should always consult with the doctor before
starting any regimen or diet but I'm telling you my answer to the question
and yes I do use fruits and vegetables in all of my green juices and it's been
working for me so I don't see any reason why not mix the two so with all that

Can Artificial Intelligence Make NEW ORIGINAL COLORS? - Duration: 5:46.
hello welcome to the video this has taken forever to make don't think oh I'm
just gonna make a small little animation and then it'll be cute god I've spit so
outside like this I really hope you guys enjoy this video and yeah let's just
jump right into it there's a lot of things I don't understand chief among
them probably being colors I'm colorblind and it makes it really tough
to do stuff like color correct videos I still feel like I get around it pretty
much but you are still going to have to cut me some slack on this one I can't
actually see these colors so I've had to sort of rely on what other people have
told me about them and sometimes people agree on colors sometimes people don't
I started thinking after the video I made about sounds and how you could make
new instruments based on nothing but an AI and then the existing instrument that
you can put into it as an input we could do exactly what we did with the images
of the cats we can move between sounds we know and listen to what the model
does in spaces that we don't know now let's listen to bass and flute from
ensign what it does in my mind's eye is makes a
really big bass flute and I thought why can't you do the same with colors and
obviously and a lot of people have been thinking the same where they've not
really been getting great results at least in my opinion and the people I've
showed this to it seems like they pretty much just used existing colors and then
given those colors names but I think see erratically it should be possible to
actually get new colors we've never seen before the question however is will we
be able to see those colors because they might be existing colors already in
nature that we just simply can't see all of this is very theoretical and we can't
really prove much of it and I've tried to look around for papers and that's not
a lot even fixing colorblindness seems to be put down too if your red and green
all about it we can fix it with this pair of glasses if you're anything apart
from that you're screwed but I still found it super interesting if you could
create new colors using one simple AI just pop some colors in there let it
train see what it comes up with it would have to be a Gann Network a generative
adversarial Network where you basically have to a is competing against each
other both being trained on a training set of data and the data you would put
into this would have to be existing colors so we would always be able to see
the output from the Gann Network the interesting bit here is you basically
have two different AIS that are competing trying to outsmart each other
one is generating new images or colors in this case based on noise or some kind
of input it could really be anything like a string of numbers or or anything
and then you would have the other AI that would be trying every time that it
got a picture to determine if the picture was from the training set or if
it's a new picture and if so if the new picture is good enough to be part of the
training set and if that's the case then it outputs the picture in the other end
and that's when we get the actual picture or once again the color in this
case we could use this to create new colors just like they've done with new
musical instruments and everything else really the one thing about this is using
other types of networks such as convolutional networks
don't get great results so what we end up having is these networks that
basically just put out an existing color with AB funky name attached to it
because all the colors in the training set has a name on it and it's kind of
fun to see but it's also a little bit sad that the whole world goes crazy for
this I had to make a video on it because it is true the colors are generated from
nai and the AI has named all of the colors
but for instance in this article we talk about all of these colors and then they
say they prefer beige and brown and it's not really the case in a lot of the
articles I found out this this was misinterpreted as the AI having a
preference for certain colors beige or brown in this case and that's simply not
the case a convolutional network will start to figure out what type of images
get through and then create more images like those so in this case if beige and
brown are the first colors then the initial neural network will start
creating more colors like these this is why it's convolutional networks have a
lot of issues with faces and animals because once one animal or one face has
been approved it will start creating more images like these so it will
basically send hundred pictures of the same person let me know what you guys
think in the comments down below if you have a better way to do this I would
love to hear about it we could use something like an LS TM which is like a
long short-term memory system the memory in this case I don't see a lot of reason
to have maybe we should use an RNN if this is all just mumbling to do then let
me know what else would you use this on if you had the choice to do it on
anything because honestly the limitations are nowhere to be found here
we could try this on pretty much anything and it might work but yeah
that's gonna be it for this video guys and I'd love to hear what you think

for a while I don't know it takes how long to bake but I really I find them

recognizable.

The cobalt-blue eye strikes a bold image, this image has been seen in many places, from
the pyramids of Egypt to movies and recently with Dr. Strange who uses its power in the
pages of the Marvel comic and movie.
In modern times the evil eye imagery has been seen almost everywhere, frequently appearing
in music videos and film it would seem this iconic symbol has been endorsed and embraced
by A-list celebrities.
This has made the symbol very popular and this has resulted in countless pages of online
content teaching people how to make their own evil eye bracelets, necklaces and keychains.
Stick around to find out which eye colour is said to hold the most power.
This recent popularity is not new, for thousands of years the symbol has maintained a steady
hold on human imagination.
So what are the evil eye's origins?
There are some important distinctions we must first make between these charms and amulets
and the actual evil eye.
The amulets have been around for as long as the symbol and are meant to ward off the powers
of the eye.
Known as a nazar the object is created to counter a curse.
This curse often indicated by a malicious glare, usually inspired by envy.
So these curses are quite simple in nature, stemming from the belief that anyone who achieves
some modicum of success will attract envious stares.
Heliodorus of ancient Greece, wrote, "When any one looks at what is excellent with an
envious eye he fills the surrounding atmosphere with a pernicious quality, and transmits his
own envenomed exhalations into whatever is nearest to him."
The evil eye and its gaze is cast across many cultures.
Frederick Thomas Elworthy compiled a comprehensive list of the legends that refer to the evil
eye.
His writings in "The Evil Eye: The Classic Account of an Ancient Superstition" provide
great insight into how the symbol is viewed across these cultures.
From the beliefs of Greeks and the tales of Gorgons whose look could turn a man to stone
to Irish folklore and even the Quran and the bible refer to the eye and its power.
The power attributed to eye the goes beyond biblical tales and folklore many great thinkers
considered the eyes power to be real.
The Greek philosopher Plutarch offered a scientific explanation for his time, he thought that
The human eye had the power of releasing invisible rays of energy that were in some cases potent
enough to kill children and small animals.
Plutarch added to his claims by saying that certain people possessed a stronger ability,
citing groups of people to the south of the Black Sea as being uncannily proficient at
bestowing the curse.
Could these people be the ancient ancestors of the Romani Gypsies and explain their association
with curses?
Plutarch warned the most skilled at delivering a curse are those with blue-eyes.
Others see the ability to curse others as a curse itself.
Polish folk tale tells of a man whose gaze was such a potent carrier of the curse that
he resorted to cutting out his own eyes rather than continuing to spread misfortune to his
loved ones.
With so many people fearful of the evil eye and its terrible stare it's not surprising
that efforts were made to negate its power.
This brings us back to the nazar.
The first nazar amulets can be traced back to 3300 bc.
Ancient amulets have been excavated in Tell Brak, one of the oldest cities of Mesopotamia.
What is now modern day Syria a country currently living under the curse of War.
While the alabaster idols of Tell Brak seem to be one of the oldest eye amulets discovered,
they are a far cry from the typical blue glass we know today.
The earliest iterations of these didn't begin appearing until around 1500 BCE.
How were these early prototypes of Tell Brak distilled into the more modern versions?
These nazar were a little different to those that we see today, made from alabaster they
did not have the familiar blue of today's charms.
The blue charms did not start to appear until 1500 BCE, and mostly came from the Mediterranean
regions.
Several blue 'Eye of Horus' pendants have been discovered in Egypt.
Egypt being such a powerhouse of a culture at the time could explain the popularity of
the colour blue becoming associated with the evil eye.
Phoenicians, Assyrians, Greeks, Romans and, the Ottomans all feared the evil eye and as
they traveled the globe they took their fear with them.
Spreading the belief along with trinkets and charms to ward away the evil.
The belief became so ingrained into so many cultures to this very day it remains largely
unchanged, we still see the image being painted on modern machinery from planes to tanks much
in the same way as the ancients adorned their ships.
An effort to ward away bad luck that has not changed over millennia.
The eye is not immune to change and as we said at the start, today its use is common
but what the symbol represents is a little different.
Often thought of as a secret sign shown by those that have joined satanic cults, or maybe
more famously tied to that ultimate of secret societies the illuminati.
The evil eye and its meaning are morphing into something else.
A symbol that means awake, those that cast it indicating that see the truth behind todays
modern world.
To use the symbol or wear an amulet flippantly without such knowledge might not only render
its protective abilities useless, but could incur an even more potent curse.

VidCon's Less Than Famous panel, and how it can be better [2018] - Duration: 1:00.

Let's talk about defining success on YouTube.
A big part of this success is feeling heard.
Conventions like VidCon give creators the opportunity to do so, which means that being
invited can feel like a big success.
If the point of this panel is to give creators who don't already have a large social platform
underneath them a comparable platform at VidCon, it is failing.
That isn't to say that great things haven't been happening at the panel, but that most
people haven't been able to see it.
I looked at the submission guidelines to get an idea of what to expect as a potential panelist.
They don't give you a full picture of what VidCon is looking for.
So, naturally, I turned to YouTube.
When I searched, I expected to see some things from VidCon's official channel, like the
highlights that they put up for a lot of the panels, and I found nothing.
The only thing other than submission videos are a few videos of the full panel that were
uploaded by Paul Roth (shoutout to Paul).
If the only people who can engage with the content of this panel are people who can physically
attend VidCon AND already have enough interest in the small creator community to seek it
out, there's a huge missed opportunity there.
If this is going to be a thing, don't just form it and put it into a little room.
The very least you can do is upload it to the VidCon channel so that the online community
can actually see it.
If you don't make any effort beyond that to elevate the voices on the panel, you're
missing out on so much meaningful content that could be brought to the people who attend
and are interested in your event.
A big part of success is feeling heard, but a bigger part is knowing that what you have
to say is valuable enough to be shared.
