How to work with other(s) departments effectively & get them do their job properly! - Duration: 8:08.

Some of us have jobs that require cooperating with different departments

and as we know this may not always be easy especially is the person that's

responsible for the entire project is you so How do we do it effectively? If

you are a project manager, an account manager or a coordinator in any shape or form I'm

sure you're working with multiple departments to accomplish your work.

First thing I want to talk about is Treat your colleagues as your peers and

not as your subordinates. What happens is that when we are in the

coordination positions we feel that we are very responsible for the role and we

kind of feel like we're outsourcing the job to other departments so the

relationship becomes more like a client and supplier - very transactional more like

just get on with your job no side hustle, no questions asked. And what I want to say

is I encourage you to talk to them as if they were your peers because first of

all they are your peers but treat them as an expert in their field. Moreover, make sure that

you understand the challenges they are facing and their importance in the

process make them feel heard, make them feel important and acknowledge that the work

that they are doing actually matters because guess what it actually really

does. Show respect and interest in other departments work so as I mentioned

earlier it is important to show respect to your colleagues and acknowledge that

their contribution to your project is valid and significant so one of the

things that you can do is you can involve them in the

early briefing call or briefing meeting so they feel they are there at the source

and they're not getting some sort of second hand information another thing

that you can do is to show them that you are interested in the challenges that

are facing to deliver your work or maybe you can go even further and ask about

what are the department's challenges and things that they face that and might

prevent them from doing the best they can for you. Keep it interesting and

challenging for them. No one likes working on a boring task so

give people tasks that are exercising their skills and imagination of whatever they

need to accomplish the task. Ignite that fire within them or if you

cannot give them the motivating time maybe make your brief motivating another important

thing that I see many people do not do is to explain why is it that you're

asking for what is it that you're asking for and just give people background

about like what are the actual reasons behind their job because you know what

it will actually make them work better and understand their entire

contribution much more and they will be able to deliver a better piece of work

for you so it's a really a win-win situation which nicely leads me to

another point. Creating a "We" mentality so what I'm talking about here is it's

not you and the other departments but it's "we" mentality it's us as one team so

make sure that everyone on the team feels that they are in it together

because guess what if you can't show it or if you can't even show the excitement

for the work how can they? Develop a sense

of responsibility and ownership. Everyone on the team needs to know what they are

responsible for and they need to feel that they own their piece of work if in any

way you make them feel like they don't own it it's like taking their power away

it's like taking their job or performance away so make sure that

everyone feels they're responsible and accountable for the work they are to

deliver. Share the full feedback with the team. So what often times happens at a

an account handler or a coordination position is that we receive some piece of feedback

and sometimes don't really fully pass it on. Now on one hand I understand but on

the other hand that makes the other departments or colleagues feel like

they're less important in the process and do not get me wrong you have to be

very good about your feedback so you have to know how to edit it to the team

so let's say if your client is complaining about your colleague you

don't really wanna you know pass that feedback on but maybe their feedback is

so clear that it would be really good if you could just pass it on as it is to

your colleague and it would make them feel like they have the feedback from

the source and that they understand it. Sometimes what happens is that we people

get a bit anxious when they don't get the right feedback is because they do

not trust you like that you can interpret the feedback correctly when

you're paraphrasing. Therefore, you just really need to find the right

balance between how to share it but the more you share the more involved your

team will feel about that. Find out what's in it for them. Make sure that

you know what your team's goals and aspirations are like. Do they want a

promotion? Do they want to change the departments? Do they want more money?Find

out what's in it for them and try to treat them accordingly. Another very

important thing is to recognise their successes. Everyone likes to be

recognised and everyone likes to be acknowledged for their work so whether

you pick up a public or private situation I am sure that no one will

argue with you if you give them a good positive feedback. Pick your battles well.

When I was younger I really did not get this whole concept and sadly it came

with age. Well, my life would have been so much easier if I did but this is a very

important topic so if you are experiencing issues you really need to

understand which ones you let go of and which ones you don't to create an

optimal working environment. Here's the thing if you are maybe a bit more

opinionated somehow feel like more superior to the others this might be a

very hard thing to do but there's this one vital thing you need to remember you

want people to work WITH you not against you and I say there one more time you

want people to work WITH you and not against you. You need to be very

careful you cannot be petty or bitchy and you should just only focus on

addressing issues that will have impact. Maybe there is a major quality issue and

there's a big thing so this is where you need to divert your focus to.

And finally the respect comes from actions and not a title. Some people

may think that when they get promoted to director level that everyone should

automatically respect that. Well, guess what it does not really work like that,

right? You have to demonstrate through your action that you're worthy of

respect. So you need to walk your talk. And also people are drawn to those who

are being genuine and authentic and this is how you gain respect. There you have it these

are my ten tips on how to work effectively with other departments

within your company. I would absolutely love to hear from you and what are your

challenges with your departments or if any of those tips I just shared applied

to you and you can utilize them on day to day. If you do please pop it in the

comment box down below. If you like this video please give thumbs up and

subscribe and it's always - Be kind. Stay positive and I will see you next time.

Why LAZY is The NEW Productive – How To Do More With Less! - Duration: 12:35.

what is up hustler. It's currently a Friday morning and I'm gonna be growing my side

hustles today by doing nothing at all

okay maybe not nothing at all but I am going to a meditation retreat for the

next few days and I'm gonna take you with me

to show you what my day looks like and how being lazy can actually help you

build your businesses on a sidenote apple cider vinegar and raw honey

together with some water during the mornings perfect detox trip to have to

kick start your day because it regulates blood sugar levels anyway just a quick

tip before I start my day and take you all along with me I'm gonna talk to a

common misconception of entrepreneurship nowadays and that is the need to work

around the clock and sleep for hours and rinse and repeat when in reality the

successful entrepreneurs and people that are doing well with their businesses are

the ones that fat or women winning formular and that is to strike the

perfect balance between rest and play I just want to do mystify all of this

because I think it is really important for the young people or people that are

just getting started to know that it is all about working smarter not harder

just as importantly I want to let you know that I am also bringing back the

hustle fan

those amuses channel and have no clue what I'm talking about firstly welcome

to the family I often host Hustle fam competitions

because I mean who doesn't like a giveaway right this time around I'm

picking out four winners to win and Facebook master course and no hang on

this isn't any ordinary course and no I don't sell any of these courses this is

a course that I made specifically because as you may already know

following this channel I worked directly with Google Facebook and a whole bunch

of other digital marketing companies trust me when I say this for the full

lucky winners it's going to completely change your Facebook Ads game whether

your drop shipping affiliate marketing or even creating a social media

marketing agency the amount of secrets and tips and industry knowledge in the

course and the notes is invaluable I quite literally have a stack of notes

all on Facebook Ads strategies tips and tricks because over the times I've been

working with these companies and yes that includes going directly to Facebook

offices and working with them that I've developed a stack of notes which I want

to give away to all like you win it so how do you enter you ask well that's

simple all you need to do is comment down below as usual

hashtag hustle fan go on to my website as well Ethan's ENCOM and enter your

email address in because at the end of this month I'll

be picking four lucky emails selecting them out and also matching them with the

comments down below hustle fam and and be sure I'm not to

cheat guys because I will be checking the comments and pairing them up with

the emails that I select if you haven't commented hast found below well then

unfortunately your entry isn't valid alright anyway come with me

while we get ready to head on to the retreat and I'll show you why being lazy

isn't you're productive let's go

yo okay so I'm settling down into the retreat at the moment I've got to be a

little bit quiet here because there's a lot of people meditating at the moment

um but yeah this rimmel my home for the next few days and the reason why I come

to the retreat is to come back to basics this know we're mobile reception here

it's just the nature myself in good food it's all coming vegetarian actually

organically made on the spot and a lot of meditation yoga classes and I just

want to take the chance right now to talk to you one-on-one because like I've

said in the past the reason why I'm doing YouTube in the reason why I share

all of this knowledge with you all is because I get to interact with you every

one of you one-on-one which I find amazing and I'm very grateful for and

that's the reason why I still comment on each and every comment even though the

channel continues to grow and there's more comments I take the time to just

interact with all of you because that's what I enjoy doing most on top of course

sharing all this dropshipping ecommerce knowledge with you all in order to you

know hopefully impact a few lives out there and make their lives any better in

any any possible way and that's my goal here and because I get to talk to so

many of you I get to hear about so many amazing beautiful stories struggles

success stories and I get to pinpoint where most of the challenges are so I

can just share those stories and share my tips around those common

misconceptions or common issues that people run into whether that view with

personally that's coming out whether that be specifically dropshipping or

whether that be specifically two challenges that you go through day to

day so that makes it easier for me to provide you guys with litte value a big

misconception that I see like I said earlier in this video is the

misconception of needing to work really really hard and even though I've always

preached hustling and do you think it's one of the most important words

hence hustle famine I do think though that it's just as important to rest and

take it easy and just be lazy like I said being lazy is important because in

a day where entrepreneurship is looked at as something very cool that you need

to be working every single moment of your life

I just learned until that you or know that it's not exactly like that that's

actually counterproductive I get a lot of messages saying I feel like I'm not

doing enough I feel like I'm failing I mean 18 years old and I'm not at where I

want to be at in life and you know that's really hard to hear because I

look back in my videos and I am preaching hustle hustle hustle but in

reality I wanted to tell you this misconception with entrepreneurs and

successful entrepreneurs and businesses and by no means and am I saying that I'm

successful I just wanted to give you a glimpse into how I structure my day and

how I think you should too rather than listen to so many people out there

people that I look up to included like Gary Vee

I punted every leisure activity in my life nothing

no weekends no vacations zero nothing nothing who preach hustle and

hard-working grit and grind 24/7 which i think is unbelievably unhealthy and no

disrespect Gary I love karaoke however I just tend to disagree to some of these

points and I wanted to communicate with you all because I don't build an

audience where they're both realistic but they're hitting their goals as well

I'm a big reader and a lot to read so if you never read a book by Stephen Covey

and particularly seven Habits of Highly Effective People then you would know his

parable around sharpen you saw and that's exactly what I'm talking about

you meet the sharpen your saw every time you cut trees because he's can't cut

trees 24/7 with a blunt saw and you saw was eventually going to get blunt and

you're not going to be as effective as you were when you initially start

cutting trees so that parable is very important within this book because it's

all about taking a break and just not doing anything and that's where your

sharpen your your your soul I'm actually something realized that being lazy and

doing nothing and not much at all is actually very important to mindful

intentional living you know if I think out here and just immersing my body in

mind with nature and just enjoying myself and just taking your time to

breathe with friends I'm essentially we seeing my system and

I know when I get back and start grinding again I'll be ten times more

effective than I was when I started to you know burn out essentially so it's

I'm very important to take a step back sometimes and just enjoy yourself you

can also just apply the theory to day to day work it doesn't need to be a big

retreat or a big trip to somewhere or big party even you can just batch your

work and batching is a technique where you batch batch or your similar tasks

into one smash it out for an hour or two and then take the next hour and just do

nothing at all laze around you know play some games read some books just relax do

whatever you want to do but then you know the next two hours are going to be

very productive it's also so important and I really wanna stress this is so

important to be content with what you've achieved or any achievement is always a

tough subject because for high achievers and overachievers we always want more

and more and more however that is the power of laziness and doing nothing in

those moments you need to realize that you've done a lot already and you need

to contemplate your achievements because you have achieved a lot and moments of

laziness is time for reflection it's time to be satisfied by your

achievements naturally as an entrepreneur and as so many people are

getting into entrepreneurship and wanting to work on themselves

we find the need to fill up all our spare time with something to do we want

to be productive every minute of every moment and it's not a healthy part to go

down and by all means I've become more busy than ever before with all these

side hustles and businesses but that doesn't mean that I can't enjoy a moment

of laziness and these moments of laziness are few and far between now but

that's more reason to appreciate them and more reason to be committed to

laziness if that makes sense but being committed to laziness 100%

I'm able to relax my mind more effectively and hence become a more

productive person so laziness is the new productive so guys I really hoped you

enjoyed this video I'm not going to be vlogging the entire retreat from here on

out because there's no reception here anyway and I just need to switch off

just refresh relax be lazy just do nothing at all

so really hoped you enjoyed this video guys and I hope you can take some of

these points out of these videos and apply it to your day-to-day life if you

have any questions as always hit me down the comments below and don't forget the

hostile fire competition is on so get keen guys for people will be winning

that amazing face book master course and I'm telling you no you're not gonna

you're gonna love you're gonna love it anyway it's 2 p.m. I'm head over and do

some meditation yoga I'm very excited and as always guys I'll see in the next

video thanks for watching and keep on honestly
