I came to Union from Burton Adventist Academy
in the great state of Texas.
I originally came to visit
just on my own to get a feel of different colleges.
And I chose Union because it's an incredibly friendly place
with really nice people
who make you feel welcome and at home.
In high school I strayed away from the bigger leadership roles.
As a junior in college, I have the great opportunity
to be president of the Business and Computer Science Club
and the co-director of the young adult Sabbath School
we call The Well.
The reason why I really like The Well
is because of my love for music, food and community with other people.
The Well Sabbath School is not your typical young adult Sabbath School.
We try to focus on reaching different young adults
in their different stages of life.
Like lets say one person prefers to study the Bible.
We'll do an interactive Bible study.
Another person maybe wants to sing
so each week we'll do a 20-minute praise and worship set.
That's just one of the ways that Union really tries to accommodate
to different people and their spiritual walks of life.

El ciclista colombiano perdió más de siete minutos en la etapa del viernes y cayó de la quinta a la novena posición en el Tour.
Buscará cerrar dignamente la carrera con la contrarreloj del sábado.
El ciclista colombiano Nairo Quintana, líder del equipo Movistar, achacó a las heridas que sufrió en la caída que había tenido el jueves en el Tour de Francia su pérdida de tiempo en la última etapa de montaña,
este viernes, que le hizo bajar de la quinta a la novena posición en la clasificación general.
"La caída me ha hecho mucho daño, me dolía todo, sobre todo la cadera, no podía casi ni pararme en los pedales.
Pero he seguido luchando e intentando perder el mínimo tiempo", afirmó Quintana.
El boyacense, que se cayó en la decimoctava etapa, sufrió heridas en el hombro, codo, pierna y tobillo izquierdos y un dedo de la mano derecha,
"Fue una etapa muy dura, con unos y otros que atacaban. aunque sin lesión ósea, según confirmó el médico del equipo.
"Tengo bastante inflamación y eso hace que el cuerpo se resienta", añadió. Hemos pasado un día duro", añadió el ciclista del Movistar.
Quintana quedó descolgado en el inicio de la subida al Aubisque, el último puerto de la jornada, tras un ataque del esloveno Primoz Roglic (Lotto),
que ganaría la etapa y arrebataría la tercera plaza en la general a Chris Froome (Sky), y del holandés Tom Dumoulin (Sunweb), segundo de la prueba, a poco más de 30 km de la meta.
Noveno en la general El colombiano entró en el puesto 19 de la etapa, a 7:09 de Roglic y descendió de la quinta a novena posición en la general, a 10:26 del líder Geraint Thomas.
Con Quintana lastimado, su compañero Mikel Landa lanzó un ataque en el ascenso al Tourmalet, a unos 96 km de la meta, y sería alcanzado en la cima del Aubisque, el último puerto de la jornada.
Era la estrategia de carrera, ya fuera él o yo, uno de los dos iba a ir por delante en el Tourmalet", explicó Quintana, de 28 años de edad. "Teníamos a Landa adelante.
Landa entró en la meta, en el grupo de otros favoritos, en séptima posición, a 19 segundos de Roglic y subió en la general de la séptima a la sexta plaza, a 4:40.
A Nairo, que fue duodécimo el año pasado en la general, le quedará difícil mejorar ese noveno puesto en la general cuando solo queda la contrarreloj individual del sábado,
"El sábado la contrarreloj es un gran test. de 31 km, que no es su especialidad. A ver cómo aparece el cuerpo y las inflamaciones", concluyó.
Quintana fue dos veces tercero en el Tour (2013 y 2015) y una vez tercero (2016). Ganó el Giro de Italia en 2014 y la Vuelta a España en 2016.
Su sueño, con al menos siete temporadas más como profesional, es ganar algún día en Francia.
