Who doesn't like candy?

I love candy - mm mm I love it.

I love candy too and if I could make it on my own, I would sell it.

Sell it!

Why would you do that?

To make money of course.

I could become rich!

Yeah, that�s true but I prefer to eat my candy.

Just remember to brush your teeth.

But say i wanted to make money selling candy.

How do I make my own candy?

Well, that is what we are going to talk about today.

Let me guess - it's all in the script?

Yep!

So let�s start with first a warning.

I know - you need permission and help from an adult.

Adult supervision - check!

What else.

To make rock candy you will need.

A wooden skewer (you can also use a clean wooden chopstick)

A clothespin

1 cup of water

2-3 cups of sugar

A tall narrow glass or jar

What to do and How to do it.

Clip the wooden skewer into the clothespin so that it hangs down inside...

In the glass and is about 1 inch from the bottom of the glass.

Remove the skewer and clothespin and put them aside for now.

Get a helpful adult!

Pour the water into a pan and bring it to boil.

Pour about 1/4 cup of sugar into the boiling water, stirring until it dissolves.

Keep adding more and more sugar, each time stirring it until it dissolves, until no more

will dissolve.

This will take time and patience and it will take longer for the sugar to dissolve each

time.

Be sure you don�t give up too soon.

Once no more sugar will dissolve, remove it from heat and allow it to cool for at least

20 minutes.

NOTE: While it is cooling, some people like to dip half of the skewer in the sugar solution

and then roll it in some sugar to help jump start the crystal growth.

If you do this, be sure to let the skewer cool off completely.

So that the sugar crystals do not fall off when you place it back in the glass.

Have your friendly ADULT carefully pour the sugar solution into the jar almost to the

top.

Then submerge the skewer back into the glass making sure that it is hanging straight down

the middle without touching the sides.

Allow the jar to fully cool and put it some place where it will not be disturbed.

Now all you have to do is just wait.

The sugar crystals will grow over the next 3-7 days.

It takes a bit of time but this is so cool.

If you want colored rock candy?

All you have to do is Add food coloring to your sugar water...

And make sure that it is pretty dark in color for the best result.

How does it work?

When you mixed the water and sugar, you made a SUPER SATURATED SOLUTION.

This means that the water could only hold the sugar if both were very hot.

As the water cools the sugar �comes out� of the solution back into sugar crystals on

your skewer.

The skewer (and sometimes the glass itself) act as a �seed� that the sugar crystals

start to grow on.

With some luck and patience, you will have a tasty scientific treat!

Riding Lawn Mower Engine Clicks But Doesn't Crank - Duration: 6:21.

Hi, Wayne here from Sears PartsDirect.

Today we're going to talk about troubleshooting a riding mower engine that clicks but when

you turn the key but won't turn over.

A bad starter solenoid often causes this problem—but not always.

The mower could have a bad starter motor, a wiring failure, a weak battery or a locked-up

engine.

We'll show you how to find out what's wrong.

First we'll check for a weak battery.

The click you hear when you turn the key means that the starter solenoid coil is getting

power.

The starter solenoid only needs a little current to make the solenoid coil click, but the starter

motor needs a lot of current to spin the motor.

So a weak battery could have enough current to trip the solenoid coil but not enough current

to crank the engine.

To check the battery, use a multimeter to measure DC voltage across the battery terminals.

Turn off the ignition.

Access the battery—in this type of riding lawn mower, you lift the seat to get to the

battery.

With the multimeter set to measure DC voltage, touch the red multimeter probe to the positive

or red battery terminal and the black meter probe to the negative or black battery terminal.

A fully charge battery measures more than 12 volts DC.

To provide enough current to spin the starter motor, the battery typically needs to be at

least 75 percent charged.

Here's a chart that shows how much charge the battery has based on voltage.

Charge the battery if it's weak or dead.

The starter motor should spin the engine after you recharge the battery.

If not, the next step is the check the cables.

If the battery is okay, then corroded or broken wire cables could prevent the starter motor

from getting power.

If you find corrosion on the battery terminals and cable ends, here's how to safely remove

it: Put on work gloves and safety goggles.

Disconnect the negative cable and then the positive cable from the battery.

Use a wire brush to clean the cable ends and battery terminals.

If brushing doesn't remove it all, sprinkle baking soda over the terminals and cable ends

and then moisten the baking soda.

The baking soda and water will bubble vigorously and dissolve the corrosion.

When the bubbling stops, use a toothbrush to remove any remaining corrosion.

Wipe off the terminals and cable ends with a shop rag.

Thinly coat the battery terminals with petroleum jelly to help prevent corrosion.

If you found no corrosion, or if the motor still won't start after you remove the corrosion,

check if the red battery cable is delivering power the solenoid post by measuring voltage

on the red terminal post.

With the multimeter set to measure DC voltage, touch the red meter probe to the red post

on the starter solenoid and the black meter probe to the negative terminal on the battery.

It should measure more than 12 volts.

If it doesn't, replace the red battery cable.

A word of warning here.

Don't let the meter lead touch both of the solenoid posts at the same time or you'll

see a severe spark.

If the motor still doesn't turn over with a good red cable, the solenoid is next on

the list of likely suspects.

Next, we'll check the starter solenoid by measuring voltage on the black post at the

same time the solenoid clicks.

You'll need some clip-on meter probes to hold the probes on the wires as you turn the ignition

key, unless you have a helper to turn the key while you hold the probes on the wires.

Disconnect the black starter cable from the solenoid post and attach the red meter probe

to the post.

Clip the black meter probe to the negative battery terminal.

Hold the ignition key in the start position—you should hear the solenoid coil click.

When the solenoid coil clicks, the multimeter should measure more than 12 volts if the black

post gets power.

If it measured no voltage when the solenoid coil clicked, replace the starter.

If the multimeter measured more than 12 volts on the black solenoid post after the solenoid

clicked, you know that the starter solenoid works.

Now we'll check the starter cable that connects the solenoid to the starter.

We'll use a voltage drop test to measure resistance through the starter cable.

Using a voltage drop test is more accurate than a simple resistance test for a large

cable with many copper strands.

A simple resistance check detects any current; it can't detect whether the cable can carry

enough current to spin the starter motor.

We measure voltage—also called voltage drop—from the solenoid post to the starter motor stud.

Ideally, we should measure less than 1 volt during this test, indicating voltage is nearly

the same at the solenoid post and the starter motor stud.

If it's more than 1 volt, it means wire strands inside the cable are broken.

To start the test, reconnect the black starter cable to the solenoid post and clip the red

meter probe to the cable lead.

Lift the mower hood.

Disconnect the spark plug wire so the engine has no chance of starting.

Remove the right dash panel for a better view.

Clip the black meter lead to the cable lead that connects the black cable to the starter.

Hold the ignition key in the start position and check the voltage reading after the click.

If you measure a drop of more than 1 volt through the starter cable, replace the starter

cable.

If the starter cable is okay, you know that the starter motor is getting power.

Since the motor isn't turning, we've narrowed the failure down to a seized engine or a failed

starter motor.

We'll check for a seized engine and if it's not locked up, then we know that the starter

motor failed.

To see if the engine spins, remove the plug from the screen above the flywheel to access

the flywheel bolt.

Use a socket wrench to rotate the flywheel bolt clockwise and try to spin the engine.

If the engine won't spin because it's locked up, have a service technician diagnose

and repair the problem.

If you can spin the engine, replace the starter motor because it's not spinning the engine

when activated.

If you follow these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to get that lawn mower

engine started so you can get back to mowing.

FINALLY! Youtube Abuse Scandal May Be Over, BUT Is Someone Lying? - Duration: 14:43.

And the first we're going to talk about today, is by far the most requested story

This might be the last time we talk about it.

I mention why in a minute, but this is around Mike Martin aka 'Daddy of Five'

Youtube potential child abuse scandal.

Last week we put a big spotlight on the problem, we saw children in distress

[Children in distress; screaming, crying]

Children being on the receiving end of aggression from both parents, and from the older stepkids.

[Ground pound, slap]

And this story blew up and still continues to go.

I saw even this morning VICE jumped in on the coverage and there's been a massive update

To what mike Martin and his wife are saying publicly. That's a big tone change you might remember the first response after the outrage around the

Ink video was this: "It's not fans. It's haters. There's people out there just jealous."

and that evolved into kind of a sort of apology where he also then blamed me for the situation

I'm sorry if we hurt anybody I'm

sorry all

[this] got still out of hand

If would have never got this out [of] hand it wasn't for that [Defranco] guy and then after that video that

I think it was around a million views I don't know the exact number because it's now been removed

I can had a release a new video called Daddy-O five founders issue public apology and they have a completely different tone

Let's let's walk through this let's start off the beginning where they actually seem to take responsibility this has been the absolute

worst week of our life, and we realized that we have made some terrible parenting decisions and

we just want to make things right, but Mike acknowledges that a lot of the video should not have gone up I I

Acknowledge and and I respect how everyone feels

About this and I do agree that we put things on the internet that should not be there

We did things that we should not do and as a mother over the last week

looking back at the videos and

Just thinking about things if I didn't know the people and I saw some of those things I would be

Thinking the same thing I would be like oh my God those poor children

For though was asking why my edit of that video was so weird it

Wasn't my edit they have several of these throughout the video if they're doing a hard cut they dropped the audio

They do a fade

I'm going to fade back in and they do that so many times near the end of the video where it makes you wonder what

It was that they cut out look you go then they say this about family counseling

We are now in family counseling because we need it

Not only to get through the you know media stuff

But we needed to come [back] together and have everybody even the kids to understand

What we did wrong in all this the response to that has been mixed a lot of people saying well good you need to be

in counseling, how many others are saying they can't tell where lies and

Truth begin with this family interviews just after the outrage they said they were already in family counseling. "We actually [have] a family counselor

We actually cody does go to counseling and and we went to counseling as a family

Ironically we had" when she says we're in family counseling now does that mean that earlier mentioned was a lie?

Where is she saying the same thing, but she worded it poorly we just want to give our kids back of some type of normalcy

We just want them to be able to go back to school and just live their lives I

Just wanted to take care of everybody I

Just want to just wanted you guys we wanted them to be happy

We just wanted our kids to be happy that we went about it the wrong way

We're focused pitiful and making sure that our kids

Don't have to deal with so much backlash from our bad decisions, and we realize now

What kind of a situation we put them in and?

We're just really sorry to them

And that's where it ends they cut their audio

They do a fade out even though she's still talking and so something. I've said since the beginning. I want to believe them

I want to believe what they said before that it was fake that it was scripted that that cody might be an actor in the

Future because he must be if this is fake he is a child actor prodigy

I think as far as this apology it would have been the perfect

Apology if they put this in place of the video where they blamed me all the weird cuts and fade outs when they're still talking

or when Mike's about to chime in it makes me feel like maybe this isn't the most genuine apology my name go through all of

this was so that the kids have a better and safer futures one of the reasons I mentioned the

allegations from The

Biological mother who has come forward because of all of us who talked about that while stressing that these are allegations and then also not

Promoting to her. Go fund because we don't know one if everything

She is saying is true and that the kids would actually be in a better place with her

You don't know and I hope that through this family now it seems this family

is being investigated by CPS

And I've [been] not going [to] do in the future. I hope I [hope] these kids have a safer better future

That's why hopefully this is the last time we're gonna have to talk about this the parents are saying they're not going to do anything

Like this again. They acknowledge that they're wrong

It looks like the legal authorities that are supposed to look at this are now looking at this and it kills me that there are

Some of the do five fan base that I think literally my goal was to

Destroy a family your passion has either blinded you or you are just that stupid and I [don't] know what to do with you

That's what I'm going to end that story of course I do want to pass it off to use English new apology does it change?

We are convinced that the further development of bilateral ties based on equality and mutual respect meets the long-term interests of our people

and will help strengthen global and regional security and stability.

We have reaffirmed our mutual desire to build up political dialogue,

which, we believe, should become regular.

We have talked about cooperation between our industries and sectors,

including in energy, transport, academic, cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as environmental protection.

Many problems that need joint solutions have accumulated in many of these spheres.

In this context, we drew our partners' attention to the importance of cooperation through sectoral dialogue formats,

which have been suspended by Brussels.

We also spoke about the ongoing campaign in the media.

I believe that we heard what the other had to say about unacceptable attempts to restrict media freedom or use the media for internal political purposes.

We have told our partners about the development of Eurasian integration and its importance for Russia-EU dialogue.

We have proposed developing direct contact between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the EU.

We are ready to hold practical discussions of these ideas,

especially considering that they can help strengthen the competitiveness and integration of Greater Eurasia,

We have never abandoned the long-term strategic goal of creating a common economic

and humanitarian space from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific coast based on the principle of equal and indivisible security.

We also talked about positive changes that have taken place over the past 18 months in the efforts to build up our cooperation on terrorism,

drug trafficking and illegal migration.

As I have said, it is gratifying to note the resumption of our dialogue on counterterrorism after a long pause.

We discussed the situation in the Middle East and North Africa,

primarily in Syria.

The developments in Libya,

Iraq and Yemen are of course a matter of concern for Russia and the European Union.

We have shared with our partners what Russia is doing to promote a settlement in Syria through inclusive national dialogue

and by actively relying on the Astana process.

Russia expressed support for the intra-Syrian consultations in Geneva under UN auspices.

These talks should be conducted in strict compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

As you know,

Russia has been working and continues to work with the European Union as part of efforts to implement the agreements on the Iranian nuclear programme.

We discussed Ukraine.

Both sides confirmed that there is no alternative to fully implementing the Minsk Package of Measures.

I laid out Russia's fact-based perspective on the obstacles that still hamper the implementation of the Minsk agreements,

primarily, Kiev's refusal to affirm the very concept of the document adopted in February 2015 in Minsk.

Our Ukrainian neighbours are trying to change the agreements,

drastically rewrite them and bend them to their interests,

which of course would lead to a deadlock.

Let me reiterate that Russia has provided evidence.

I hope that our EU colleagues in their work with the Ukrainian Government will push for strict compliance with the Minsk agreements.

As a guarantor of these agreements,

Russia is ready to do its part of the job in full.

We will work with Lugansk and Donetsk to make this a reciprocal process when Kiev finally begins fulfilling its commitments.

Overall, the talks demonstrated that there are many issues on which our positions differ.

It is clear that this is to a large extent attributable to the general context of our relations that resulted from the EU's reaction

to actions by the Russian Federation ahead of the anti-constitutional government coup in Ukraine and the events that followed,

dictated by the need to prevent the abuse of rights of Ukraine's Russian speaking population.

Nevertheless, let me reiterate that while there is this system-wide issue,

and we are not turning a blind eye to it,

we want to keep the conversation alive,

which is a good thing in itself.

Let us hope that in the end of the day a reasonable and fact-based perspective on what happened

and is happening there prevails.

In any case, we are neighbours and have to live side by side.

Problems should be discussed in order for them not to become artificial obstacles to dialogue.

Hey there.

Nandini here, and please excuse me if I look in that direction because I've got a script

in front of me, which I probably should be following, 'cause otherwise this might get

a little bit too long.

So you can see the title of this video.

I've been led a little bit astray from my short and medium term goals.

And this is because I got a relatively cool opportunity on my work, like, my actual paid

work front.

And I'm not really going to outline what that opportunity is, 'cause it's still happening.

However, if you do follow me on social media, namely Instagram and Facebook you might be

able to tell what exactly I'm talking about.

Regardless, the issue is that because of this opportunity being quite cool and also really

giving me quite good working experience, I've kind of been giving it my all, especially

in terms of energy and time, which are two of probably the most important resources I

have.

By doing so, I haven't been working on my short term and medium term goals at all.

And also, because of how exhausted I've been because of this opportunity and how much time

it's been taking I've been sort of going back to old bad habits, such as eating poorly and

not really sleeping enough and stuff.

So I'm...

It's clear to me now that that has to change RIGHT NOW.

It HAS to change because I keep making these excuses about how it's all right maybe for

me to be cutting these corners but really, it really isn't.

Um, there's really no valid excuse for me not pursuing my goals because I firmly and

truly believe that if something is important to me I will definitely find and give it the

time it needs and clearly I'm definitely not doing that.

Even though the truth of the matter is also that I don't have as much time as I did before.

So there were like two or three things that really cut through the bullshit excuses I

was giving myself.

And the first one was, I watched this very short-- I'm not really sure, like, I guess,

interview or video of one of the founders of Paul and Mitchell and some sort of alcoholic

brand called I think Patron Tequila or something like that, I don't know.

This guy was homeless a few times in his life but now he's worth over 4 billion dollars

according to the video I think, or maybe more than that.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter who he is but he gave I think four tips for success,

and the last one was working the extra mile.

And I think that's SO important.

You know like the examples that he gave were, you know, getting up early to do stuff.

Staying up all night to do stuff.

And to be honest, cutting into my sleep is not really something I should be doing for

my health and my mental wellbeing, because sleep is really precious and very important

for me.

And it's a little bit too capitalist as well, you know, to be like, WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK,

WORK, DON'T SLEEP, DON'T REST.

No, I'm not really about that, but I have examined like my schedule over the last two

to three weeks since this opportunity's come about and there are parts of my daily schedule

where I can like replace certain activities that I really do love doing with things that

could help me achieve my short and medium term goals.

Definitely.

So I just need to be more rigid with how I spend some parts of my time, I guess.

So yeah, there were a few other reasons that kind of you know cut through it all, and made

me realise that you know I have no excuse for not pursuing my goals.

They're not really that important and frankly, I can't really think of ONE of them.

The other one is, you know, family.

My family kind of made me realise it.

Anyway.

I just wanted to say that something that I just sort of realised is, there were certain

like warning signs that sort of came about because I wasn't being as creative as I should

have been.

So before this opportunity came about that has been taking up a lot of my time and energy,

I had a pretty good-ish routine of being creative and absorbing all kinds of creative stuff.

And since this opportunity has come about and taken up all my time and energy, like

my creativity has kind of like very sporadically and randomly, arbitrarily come about, I guess,

in my life.

Two examples I can think of right off the top of my head.

One, like I've started using experimental colours with my make up.

Um, like my lips and my brows and stuff.

I use a lot of blue, actually.

And the other is, like, I was sending a pretty casual email to one of my friends about something.

And I like I really spent a lot of time writing it, much more than I normally would.

And because I was writing for pleasure, I started really like trying to express myself

as authentically as I possibly could.

And trying to like meld some of the prose into poetry and shit.

And I was just like, WHOA.

That should have been a warning sign that I really should maybe actually be writing

stuff as opposed to taking these opportunities to write creatively, you know.

Which isn't bad, of course it's not bad.

Neither of these things are bad, but it's just I think.

It's just that I think that these were signs that I um I needed to get back to my creative

routine.
