Youtube daily an Aug 29 2017

hey it's Abby and today I'm going to be talking about our organized junk drawers

in our last house we had a little desk in our kitchen that held all the things

we needed like pens, pencils, all the boys items that they needed for school and

when we moved into this house we didn't have anything like that so last year all

during the school year whenever we needed something we were running up to

my office to get it or running down to Donnie's tools to get it and so before

school started this year I wanted to make sure I put together the drawers

that had everything we needed in it so we wouldn't be running all over the

house and looking for everything before we take a peek in the drawers be sure to

subscribe so you don't miss a video and head over to abbyorganizes.com/bonus

to get our bonus for our newsletter subscribers

so I recently rearranged our kitchen a little bit and that gave me these two

drawers free to turn into our junk drawers and I love this project because

it's simple just about anybody can do it so I will walk you through the process I

went through to get these drawers neat and organized so the first thing I did

is sat down and I made a list of everything that we might want to keep

inside these drawers I had to know what I was working with and what kind of

space I had the next thing I did was measure the drawers so that I could

figure out what types of inserts or organizers that I could put inside let's

take a look at what I came up with

as you can see I put a drawer liner in the drawer just to make it a little

prettier and then I found these acrylic organizers these are actually from

Target and they were in the makeup section but I love them because they had

all different sections of different shapes and sizes where I could organize

my items but you could use organizers from just about anywhere you could cut

the bottoms off of cereal boxes and use those to organize you could go to the

dollar store and get little organizers whatever will fit the dimensions of your

drawers will work for organizing your stuff

once I had gathered up all of my different items and decided where they

were going to go inside my organizers I also made some labels for the bottoms of

the acrylic organizer so everybody in the house knows where everything goes

and they can put it back in the right spot

so the contents of your drawers might look a lot different from ours but here

are the things that we decided on that would be helpful to have in a central

location in our house so we always have access to them this drawer has a folder

with all of our boys school information in it anything that we might need to

access quickly goes in here so we can reach it then there is this organizer

with a couple of different items we have a multi-tool so we can use these

different screwdrivers if we're doing little projects around the house it's

also a flashlight so we can grab that quickly if we need it we have scissors

and whiteout so just some basic office supplies also rubber bands post-its and

tape this other drawer has more of our supplies we are always measuring things

I'm moving things around the house we always need measuring tape and we're

running down to Donnie's office or up to my office to get them and so we have a

measuring tape right here we'll always have it when we need it now

a stapler as well as stamps I feel like we are always out of stamps so I bought a

big roll we're keeping it in here we'll always have stamps when we need them

another thing that was kind of a thorn in my side were Box Tops we collect box

tops for our school but I didn't have anywhere, a designated place where I

could put them so I was always losing them or I could never find them when it

was time to turn them in so we have a spot just for them we can cut them out

put them in there and then time to send them into school we just

gather them up and send them in I also want to make sure we had a couple of

different types of writing utensils we use sharpies a lot to label the boys

items their sweatshirts or even you know their little pencil boxes or anything

that we're sending into school and needs to have their name on it so we have

sharpies for that we have pencils so the boys can grab them quickly for homework

and then pens for filling out checks or paperwork or any information that we

need a pen for that and then finally the last thing that we kept in our little

organizers were batteries of the most common types that we use in the items that

we have in this area of the house so we don't have to run around the house

looking for them anymore they're all right here and we can keep those stocked

and easily see when we're running low and need to get more so this system is

super simple like I said anybody can do it

but it will be a huge help this year during the school year to have all of

these things on hand easily where we can reach them often times with a junk drawer

you think of drawers that are overflowing and really cluttered and

stuffs falling out so it's really important to me to make sure that these

drawers were pretty they weren't jam-packed and full of

stuff so we could easily see everything that's in here

they look nice when we open it and it's easy to get to all of our items. Let me

know in the comments if there's anything else that you think would be helpful for

us to include in our drawers to have easy access to and let me know where you

keep all of these types of necessities in your own home. Before you go don't

forget to subscribe so that you don't miss any organization inspiration!

Arsene Wenger is an outdated fraud and a liar who is taking Arsenal fans for mugs and cashing - Duration: 11:05.

Arsene Wenger is an outdated fraud and a liar who is taking Arsenal fans for mugs and cashing in while he can

I HATE Arsenal at the moment. My grandad grew up in North London and went to his first game at Highbury in the 1920s. Arsene Wenger saw his Arsenal side fall to yet another humiliating defeat against Liverpool.

Arsenals flops were trounced 4-0 in a performance that was labelled disgraceful by pundits. My dad went to his first game in 1954 and took me in 1991.

Since then I have been going regularly home and away, getting a season ticket at about 13 – which Ive kept ever since – and a dodgy cannon tattoo when I was 17.

As soon as I could afford it I bought a flat half-an-hours walk away from the ground in the horribly gentrified, trendy borough of Islington.

My six-year-old nephew went to his first game last season and when I have kids, they will go to the soulless, concrete bowl we moved to, to allow us to compete with Europes elite.

But I hate Arsenal at the moment. I hate the owner, I hate the chief exec, I really hate the manager, I hate 90 per cent of the players and I even hate some of the deluded fans.

Yesterdays performance against a Liverpool side, that probably wont challenge for the league, was as pathetic as it was predictable.

Roberto Firminho opened the scoring with a free header in the first example of lazy defending by Arsenal.   Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal: Firmino, Mane, Salah and Sturridge score as Reds smash terrible Gunners.

It wasnt a watershed moment, it was yet another humbling, humiliation at the hands of a half decent club. Were used to them now.

The Arsenal, the club I love, has been slaughtered by so many sides both in Europe and domestically in recent years, I cant be bothered to list them.

And assuming Wenger sees out the next two years, there will be a hell of a lot more to come.

My family, my friends and anyone whose opinion on football I have a modicum of respect for have wanted that has-been out of our club for about nine years now.

Its so painfully obvious that the man is incapable of managing a top side, its not worth discussing, but still there are people who defend him.

There are less of them now, but there are still a lot of Arsenal fans who seem to think calling for Wengers head is disrespectful and damaging to the club.

Sadio Mane then made the defence look silly again by simply cutting inside and curling into the far corner.

Mohamed Salah then ran from inside his own half to finish neatly after Hector Bellerins mistake. Well Ive got news for you, if you dont call for his head YOU are damaging the club.

If youre not trying to solve the problem then youre part of the problem and I cant even bear talking to you, because youre personally contributing to the steady decline of The Arsenal.

All this boring nonsense about the respect he deserves for past achievements is complete and utter rubbish.

We, and when I say we, I mean the people who fork out thousands of pounds a year watching the dross he puts out on the pitch, pay his wages.

For all you morons who talk as though he is managing my club out of the kindness of his heart, I just want to remind you hes paid a basic wage of around £8.

9million-a-year, plus god knows what in bonuses and incentives.

Arsene Wenger looked on and did not have an answer as Liverpool began to dismantle his Arsenal side.

Does he genuinely believe he can turn us into title contenders? If yes, he is the most deluded man in football, if no, hes taking us all for mugs and cashing in while he still can.

Hes an out-dated fraud and a liar. Remember the definitive proclamations we wouldnt sell Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and all the rest?.

If a mate or a girlfriend lied to you on such a frequent basis, you wouldnt have it. Why do you put up with it from this deluded, multi-millionaire narcissist?.

And as for the people above him (thats if you arent someone who believes he calls all the shots), they are as bad.   Arsene Wenger in awkward Arsenal post match press conference after shocking 4-0 Liverpool loss.

Daniel Sturridge then completed the humiliation with a header at the back post.

Arsene Wenger substituted Alexis Sanchez who looked disinterested in the game at times. Stan Kroenke is a money grabbing leach, who doesnt know one end of a soccer pitch from the pitching mound to the end zone.

Ivan Gazidis promised last years dismal Premier League campaign would be a catalyst for change.

That seismic change has manifested itself as one over-priced French striker who cant get in the national team, a free transfer (neither of whom started yesterday) and Jens Lehman as a goalkeeping coach.

When Sanchez and Oxlade-Chamberlain leave well be even worse than we were last year.

That said, let them go. Sanchez deserves to play in a decent side and at the end of the day, were rubbish with them, well just be slightly more rubbish without them.

Mesut Ozil was missing during the majority of the game against Liverpool.

Aaron Ramsey was particularly bad for Arsenal and was hauled off at half-time. If Wenger tries to buy anyone now they will be overpriced and unwanted by any other top club because hes left it so late. again.

But thats irrelevant anyway. I genuinely believe Wenger is so tactically inept, he could sign Messi, Verratti and van Dijk and we still wouldnt win anything.

Moving onto our other players, Ozil is demanding a massive payrise. just try to get your head round that.

This pathetic coward of a footballer, who goes missing in every big game, has contributed next to nothing in four years and hasnt been courted by any other club wants MORE money.

Stoke 1-0 Arsenal: Jese Rodriguez scores on debut for Potters as Alexandre Lacazette misfires on rainy evening.

Arsene Wenger signed a two-year deal with Arsenal in the summer but many fans are not convinced he is the right man for the club.

Ivan Gazidis claimed Arsenals failure to qualify for the Champions League would be a catalyst for change. Wenger will give it to him, claim it as some kind of victory and then say its like a new signing.

Granit Xhaka, who cost around 30 million quid is arguably the worst buy in Premier League history. He cant defend, he cant attack, he constantly gives the ball away. Please, somebody tell me what he actually does?.

And by the way, playing half a dozen, decent cross field passes a season doesnt make you Steven Gerrard. And thats just the tip of the iceberg with our top talent. I wont even start on Ramsay, Walcott et al.

Even if we wanted to shift these bog standard nobodies we couldnt because of their exorbitant, over-inflated wages. Anyway, theres so much wrong with my once great club I could go on for hours, but Ill wrap it up.

Stan Korenke has stayed silent as Arsenal have continued their decline in recent years.   Alexis Sanchez is caught kissing the Arsenal badge.

Until Arsene Wenger and arguably the entire hierarchy of the club leaves, results like yesterdays will be a regular occurrence. I dont expect us to win the league every year. I would just like us to compete once in a while.

We havent genuinely challenged for a major trophy since 2006 and yet we continue to financially reward the man primarily responsible.

As I said at the beginning, I hate Arsenal at the moment. I loved Tony Adams, David Rocastle, Dennis Bergkamp, Ian Wright and Patrick Vieira.

Im a mug, who cant give it up, so Ill keep going, but Ozil, Xhaka, Gazidis and Wenger arent what I fell in love with when I was boy.

Keep up-to-date with all the latest transfer news and gossip in our live blog.   Is Julian Draxler on his way to Arsenal from PSG?.

Two Questions You Must Ask Before Responding to an RFP - M114 - Duration: 2:57.

in ancient mythology sirens lived on an island in the sea between sicily and italy and

Sirens sang songs to sea travelers to lure them to their certain death

their songs were so enchanting that they would make sailors forget their sense of direction in the

Sailors with just steer straight towards the Island crash and perish on the rocks

We'll request for proposals or RFPs it would appear have the same delirious effect on us

But we still set ourselves and head towards the rocks

anyway

And as we head towards the rocks we get real busy with the bullshit justifications

It gets our foot in the door or it's good practice for us or we're doing it to build relationships or my favorite

Its strategic for us .Well our RFPs were told are designed to help the customer choose the best most cost-effective solution

It's a reasoning process to determine what makes sense and who could argue with that logic

However, we must first identify

what form of reasoning process that customer is pursuing because there are two distinct types there's exploratory reasoning and

Confirmatory reasoning the customer may tell you that they're exploring their options

But the overwhelming probability is that they're confirming because for most people

Appearing right is more important than being right and truth play second fiddle to reputation

But but but the buyers I deal with what they're accountable to their internal stakeholders. I hear you say

Well the really interesting thing about

Accountability is that an only increases exploratory thought when all of the following three conditions apply

one

Decision makers learn before forming any opinion that they will be held accountable to stakeholders

Two - the stakeholders views are unknown to the Decision Makers and

Three - the Decision makers believe that the stakeholders are well informed and are

Interested in accuracy, and when any one of these three conditions is missing

accountability pressure

increases confirmatory thought

Because very simply people try harder to appear right than to be right so here are two key questions

You must ask yourself before responding to an RFP is the RFP process and not just the document

But the entire review process designed to confirm you as winner

If not

Then do the above three conditions apply if not

Qualify out and ask yourself where you're out sold at least that way you get a valuable lesson from your experience

Difference between being an empath and being a LightWorker - Duration: 10:08.

Difference between being an empath and being a LightWorker

LightWorkers are working diligently to save our planet (and save us from ourselves).

Something that comes up all the time in my Empath Support Group are people who take on the pain / sicknesses of others.

While this has been mentioned as an empath trait, I believe that it actually delves deeper and is a sign that the

person is actually a LightWorker and a healer (as well as an empath, but still, two different things,

they just work very well together).

The basic list of the "Traits of an Empath" that has been circulating the internet for a few years now is fairly

straightforward, however, you will see crossover with other areas such as Lightworkers, Indigos,

HSPs (Highly Sensitive People or Highly Sensitive Persons), Psychics,

Mediums and even aspects that are levels of ascension.

Since all these are going on at the same time, it's understandable but still frustrating since not all traits point to

the same thing.

The long and short of being an empath is "feeling the emotions of others as if they were your own".

The following list is the one that can be found in some form or another everytime you google "Traits of an Empath"

Keep in mind that once an empath has learned control of their gift, these "traits" aren't there any more.

We can (mostly) handle the bad aspects (including health issues) and we just utilize our gift(s) to help others.

Therefore, if you are just now looking at the list of empath traits, but are in control of your gift,

try to remember what it was like before you learned that control.

1.

Feeling others emotions as if they were your own

2.

Overwhelmed in public places

3.

Watching violence, cruelty or tragedy on the TV is unbearable

4.

You know when someone is not being honest

5.

Digestive disorders and lower back problems

6.

Always looking out for the underdog

7.

Others will want to offload their problems on you, even strangers

8.

Constant fatigue

9.

Addictive personality

10.

Drawn to healing, holistic therapies and all things metaphysical

11.

Creative

12.

Love of nature and animals

13.

Need for solitude

14.

Gets bored or distracted easily if not stimulated

15.

Finds it impossible to do things they don't enjoy

16.

Strives for the truth

17.

Always looking for the answers and knowledge

18.

Likes adventure, freedom and travel

19.

Abhors clutter

20.

Loves to daydream

21.

Finds routine, rules or control, imprisoning

22.

Prone to carry weight without necessarily overeating

23.

Excellent listener

24.

Intolerance to narcissism

25.

The ability to feel the days of the week

26.

Will not choose to buy antiques, vintage or second-hand

27.

Sense the energy of food

28.

Can appear moody, shy, aloof, disconnected

29.

I'm writing this blog because the traits of an empath are different than the listed traits of a LightWorker.

As I stated earlier, there are some similarities, but the attempt to categorize an empath as simply a LightWorker is

wrong. 30.

Not all empaths are LightWorkers and not all LightWorkers are empaths.

But, yes, it is quite possible to be both!

Doreen Virtue has this to say about LightWorkers

"Lightworkers are those who volunteered, before birth, to help the planet and its population heal from the effects of

fear.

Each lightworker is here for a sacred purpose.

Very often, however, life on earth with its material focus creates a form of amnesia in lightworkers.

They then forget their divine and perfect identities, and also their abilities to miraculously help the earth and all

living creatures.

When lightworkers forget their true identity and purpose, they feel lost and afraid."

The traits of a LightWorker are generally comprised of these aspects

1.

You are sensitive to energies or possibly even possess the empath gift as well

2.

You may be a psychic medium

3.

You feel strongly about environmentalism and the treatment of animals

4.

You feel an affinity to the healing arts and have explored many healing modalities

5.

You are very aware of your own fears and the fears of those around you

6.

You experienced a strong spiritual awakening

7.

You love being around people but also need your alone time to recharge

8.

Feel called to heal others.

9.

Want to resolve the world's social and environmental problems.

10.

Believe that spiritual methods can heal any situation.

11.

Have had mystical experiences, such as psychic premonitions or angelic encounters.

12.

Have endured harsh life experiences that eroded the knowledge of your Divine perfection.

13.

Want to heal your own life as a first step in healing the world.

14.

Feel compelled to write, teach, or counsel about your healing experiences.

15.

Feel a sense of time urgency to fulfill your mission before you know that you are here for a higher purpose or even if

you are unsure what it is or how to fulfill it.

16.

You are aware of the power of your thoughts and your ability to manifest

Of all the aspects of the Differences Between Series, LightWorker is the most likely shared gift of the empath.

How One Man Rebuilt a WWII Spitfire Plane By Hand - Duration: 3:22.

- The most recognizable thing in the sky,

is obviously the silhouette of the Spitfire.

She's just a beautiful lady, I assure

a lot of men would like to actually marry her.

I'm sure their wives wouldn't agree.

There's 396 parts in the Spitfire seat, how do I know that?

I built it.

- [Narrator] This is Martin Phillips.

- My name is Martin Phillips, and I am

sitting next to my Spitfire RR232

which I'm the proud owner of.

- [Narrator] Martin is obsessed with Spitfires.

- [Announcer] The big bombers

join in pounding the shoreline.

- [Narrator] In the darkest days of World War II,

Spitfires filled the skies above England.

They are an icon, like freedom on wings.

British kids make models of them.

But Martin took his Spitfire

devotion to a whole other level.

For his 40th birthday, Martin's friends

gave him a single Spitfire rivet.

- When I was presented with this rivet,

the challenge was to go and build myself a Spitfire,

so on the spar of the moment, not thinking, I said,

"Why, I'll go out on a Monday morning

and I will build a Spitfire."

I never thought that over a period

of 14 years, I'd had probably wear three cars out

with mileage, along the journey

to provide all the parts that you now see today.

The fuel tanks, they came from Norway and Sweden.

Some of the other parts came from Russia,

some of the parts came from Israel,

some of the other parts came from Holland, came from France.

One of the wings was offered to us

through a lost property department.

And another wing came from a little guy coming into work.

He said, "I got a Spitfire wing in my garden."

The man hours that go into a project like this,

don't underestimate it, they are terrific

and I know the blood, sweat and tears that went into that.

After 14 years, I know the questions you're gonna ask me,

"Do you fly it?"

Sadly, not.

I am learning to fly and I hope,

one day to fly it, but greater guys than me fly it.

- My name's Matt Jones, I'm a Spitfire pilot.

The modern airliners fly 85% the speed of sound,

they've got Spitfires flying at 96, 97% the speed of sound.

You don't get in a Spitfire, you strap it on

and it becomes a part of you.

Because the airplane means so much to so many people,

there are a lot of people who have

gone down Martin's path and started thinking

they wanna build a Spitfire.

But I've never met anyone else whose completed it.

He dedicated his life to finding the parts he needed

to get this airplane flying again.

- I went through these 14 years,

had heartache when bits didn't fit.

Just putting it together and finishing it,

and the providence and the journey,

the journey I went on, you know, tears.

Even today, I cry when it runs.

It's just been amazing, absolutely amazing.

English for staying at a HOTEL - Duration: 15:31.

Hi.

Welcome to engVid. I'm Adam.

In today's video I'm going to walk you through your stay at a hotel in an English-speaking country.

You need to know some vocabulary, you need to know some of the staff you're going to

be dealing with, some of the services and amenities, and all of that stuff.

So it's a lot of vocabulary, but a lot of things that you probably need to know before

you get to the hotel.

So, the first thing we're going to look at is the staff.

Who works at a hotel?

So, first of all, in some of the more fancy hotels, the more up...

High-scale hotels, you're going to have a "doorman".

He or she, mostly he, will open and close the door for you, that's why: doorman.

Very...

Now, I know you're not supposed to say "man", you're supposed to say "doorperson", but in

hotels I don't think anybody really cares; we still say "doorman" because mostly it's

a man working there.

Now, if you drove there, there might be a "valet".

A "valet" is a person who will take your car and park it for you.

You give him or her the keys, they drive away, park your car.

When you're ready to leave, they bring your car to the front of the hotel, you get in,

drive off.

There's also the "housekeeping" or the "maid".

You can call it either one.

"Housekeeping" is the same thing as "maid".

These days "housekeeping" is a little bit more common than "maid", but they clean your

room, bring you fresh towels, etc.

The "porter".

The porter will probably be standing outside in front of the hotel.

When you pull up in your taxi or your car, he will come, take your bags inside to the

front desk.

And this person is also like a little bit of a man Friday we call it.

He will run around and get things done for you if you need.

If you need tickets, he'll go pick them up.

If you need some chores run, he'll take your coat to the laundry, all these things.

So basically he's a person who runs around doing tasks for the guests.

Okay?

A "bellhop" will take your luggage from the reception to your room.

So you don't have to carry your own bags; that's what the bellhop does.

Takes your bags, when you're ready to leave he will come to your room, take your bags

downstairs for you.

The "concierge".

So, the concierge is the person who works in a hotel, and this is the person you go

to if you need to arrange outings outside the hotel.

If you want a restaurant reservation, if you want tickets to the theatre, sports games,

anything you want to do outside the hotel, this person will probably help you organize

these things, like tours, he or she or the area will have brochures and information about

all the sites in the area, all the tourist attractions, etc.

So, "concierge".

The "g" sounds like the "s" in "measure".

Okay? It's a bit of a French sound.

Basically it's customer service.

And again, in high-scale hotels, they do a bit more services for you, but most hotels

have a concierge.

Now, when you walk into the hotel you will go to the "front desk" or you will go to the

"reception" or you will go to the "check-in desk", all the same thing.

All of them are located in the lobby of the hotel.

So the entrance, the main area of the front of the hotel, you just go to the front desk, you check in.

You go to the check-in desk, you go to the reception, all the same thing.

Now, if you're in your room and you don't want the maid to come and clean up, don't

forget to put that "Do Not Disturb" tag on your door.

Okay? We call this a tag.

It's a piece of paper, you put it outside your door, housekeeping will not disturb you.

They will not knock on your door.

Now, basically hotel has "rooms" and "suites".

What is the difference?

Name only.

Most hotels like to call their rooms suites, but if you want to get a little bit more technical,

a suite should be bigger.

Many suites have a kitchenette.

A kitchenette is like a half kitchen.

It's not a full-size kitchen, it's not fully equipped.

Probably no big stove or dishwasher, things like that, but enough that you can make small

meals, snacks, etc.

You have very expensive suites for VIPs, you have like a president's...

Presidential suite, very huge, very expensive, depends on the hotel you go to.

Otherwise, room/suite, mostly the same thing.

You can get "adjoining rooms", so if you're with your family but you want to be separate,

you have teenage kids, you get a room for them and a room for yourself - you and your

husband, you and your wife, but you have a door between the two rooms that joins them.

So you can go into their room, they can come into your room without going in the hallway.

"Adjoining" means next to each other and joining, you can go through them.

Now, all of these things, most of these things are generally available at hotels.

These places are not hotels and they don't necessarily have all of these things.

So, a "hostel".

A "hostel" is basically a bed, a place to sleep at night.

It's where backpackers go.

It's very cheap, very no frills we call it.

So if you think about, like, a carpet or a lamp, you know, the little strings that hang

on the outside, these are frills.

These are extras that you don't need.

A hostel, you get a bed, you get a bathroom - that's it; nothing else, but very cheap.

Even housekeeping you don't get.

A motel is basically a small hotel.

There's still going to be a front desk where you check in, there's still going to be housekeeping,

but you won't have any of these services.

The concierge will be a rack on the wall with brochures that you can just go pick up, that's

your concierge.

You make your own plans.

Mostly you see these along highways where people are driving, they need to take a rest,

they stop for the night, they sleep, they leave in the morning, they move on.

"B&B" is basically "bed and breakfast".

Usually this is a person's home or a couple's home that they let out to people to stay in.

So I have a house, a big house, I have four or five bedrooms, and I rent those bedrooms

out to people who want to spend the night.

Usually you'll find them in small towns, it's a little bit more quaint.

"Quaint" means, like, it's a little bit special, and friendly, and nice, and you get a little

bit of a different and more personal experience.

You feel like you're at home, except that you're in somebody else's home, and they're

taking care of you.

And they will offer you breakfast.

You will pay for dinner, but they do offer dinner as well.

The bed and the breakfast is what you pay for, and it's usually like a little, nice, hot meal.

On the other hand, most places, not including hostel; motel, B&B, etc., everybody offers

a complimentary breakfast.

"Complimentary" basically means free.

Okay? You don't pay for it, it's part of your cost of the room.

But a lot of places will give you a "continental breakfast".

Now, it sounds fancy, but it's really not.

It's some baked goods, some jam, some butter, tea, coffee, a few cookies maybe here and there.

It's not a hot meal.

It's very basic.

You go, you help yourself.

They have a counter with all this stuff on it, you take what you want, you eat, you leave.

There's no waiter, no waitress, no hot meal usually in a continental breakfast.

Okay?

So now you're ready to go, what do you say, what do you do?

Let's look at that.

Okay, so first you walk into the hotel, what do you say to the person at the front desk?

Okay?

You go up...

Now, if you have a reservation from before, maybe you called the hotel and you booked

a room, maybe you did it online, you made a reservation, everything is set, you walk

in and you say: "Hi, I'd like to check in, please."

When you leave, say the same thing, but "out" instead of "in".

"Hi, I'd like to check out", and talk about that in a minute.

If you're just walking in and you don't have a reservation, just say: "I'd like a room."

So if you have a reservation, they will ask: "Do you have a reservation?" on the first one.

"Yes, it's under" your name.

"Yes, it's under Smith, Michael."

Okay?

-"No, I don't have a reservation, that's why I'd like a room."

-"Okay. How long will you be staying?"

Basically: How many nights?

Or they may just say: "How many nights?"

How many nights will you be staying at the hotel?

Two, three, four, whatever.

You can give them the dates or you can give them the number of nights, both work.

Now, if everything works out okay, they'll just do some typing-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-"Can

I have your credit card?

Can I have your passport?"

You give it to them, they continue.

Okay?

Smoking or non-smoking, although a lot of hotels these days don't have smoking rooms,

but that's another story.

And then they'll say: "Okay, here you go.

Here are your keys.

There's the elevator", on your way.

The bellhop will take your bags.

But if they don't have rooms they could say three things.

"We have no vacancies."

"Vacancy" means an empty or available space.

If they have no vacancies, means they have no rooms, go to the next hotel.

Or: "I'm afraid we are at maximum capacity."

It basically means all of the rooms are being used, we have nothing to offer you.

Go to the next hotel.

"We are all booked" or "We are full."

Basically, we have no rooms.

Go to the next hotel.

Ideally, book your hotel room well in advance so that way you don't have any problems when

you get to wherever you're going.

Not always possible, but try to do.

Now, when you check out then a few other things you need to take care of.

Okay? So let's look at that.

Okay, so now you've checked in, you've put your bags in your room, everything's good,

you want some things.

You want value for your money.

You paid a lot of money, you want to get some of this value back.

So, there are services available at a hotel.

Again, remember a hostel you're not getting pretty much anything.

In fact, most hostels you're going to be sharing a room, so you're going to be locking your

things under your bed so nobody steals them anyway.

It may be a dorm, it may be bunkbeds.

Hotel, a little bit more elegant, you get more things.

So, if you want the front desk to call you in the morning and wake you up, say:

"Can I get a wakeup call for Tuesday at 7am?"

Okay?

Don't forget to say please to everything.

Be polite, but I'll talk about that in a second.

"Can I get a wakeup call for 7am on Friday, please?",

"Can I get extra towels, extra linens, an extra cot?"

An extra towel, very clear.

Linens, sheet, pillowcase, things for the bed basically.

A cot, if you have too many people...

Let's say your room has two beds but you're five people, so two, two and you need an extra

cot which is basically like a small bed that they fold up, it's on wheels.

They can bring it to you, one person can sleep there on the side.

"Can I reserve the airport shuttle?" or "a seat on the airport shuttle?" if it's a bus.

If you need to get to the airport, you don't want to get a taxi, the...

If the hotel offers it...

So first ask: "Do you have an airport shuttle?"

If they do, you reserve a seat, they take you to the airport.

Very easy for you, you don't have to pay for a taxi.

Now, speaking of paying, when you come to check out, you don't have to say much.

"I'd like to check out, please."

Type, type, type, type, type: "Here's your bill, please.

Should we put it on your credit card?"

-"Yes", "No" or "Cash".

So, what are the charges that you might find on your bill that might surprise you?

Okay? Charges, fees basically.

"Pay-per-view".

Be very careful with your TV in your room.

Sometimes you'll see a sporting event and you think: "Oh yeah, I want to watch", but

it's not free.

Maybe you press the button, you accepted the pay-per-view.

So every time you view this channel you're paying for it.

Or you have "on-demand", so there are some movie channels and if you press "Okay", they

will show you the movie, but you're paying for it.

And you won't even know that you're paying for it until you go down to check out and

your bill puts all these movies on there.

Right?

There's a mini bar in the hotel.

Just because they give you a mini bar and they put alcohol in it doesn't mean it's complimentary,

doesn't mean it's free.

If you drink the alcohol you're going to pay for the alcohol, if you eat the snacks you're

going to pay for the snacks, so be careful about that as well.

If you ordered room service...

So in a lot of hotels you can pick up the phone, there's a menu on the desk where the

phone is and you can order food or drinks, or whatever you need and they will bring it

to your room, and then you will pay for it later.

Now, you can pay for it then or you can just tell them: "Please bill my room."

It means put the charge on the room and when I check out I will pay everything together.

Okay?

Now, in some hotels...

Most hotels have amenities, but in some hotels you have to pay extra for the amenities.

"Amenities" are facilities, things that you can use; a gym, a sauna, a spa.

All of these things are called amenities.

They're extras, and you may have to pay for them so find out before then:

Do I have to pay for this?

Very straightforward. Okay?

And then you check out, pay your bill, and you go to the airport or you go wherever you

go next.

Now, it's very important...

And again, this comes down to culture.

Different cultures have different customs.

If you're coming to a place like Canada or the States, or in Europe, etc., all these

places, Australia, be polite and be courteous.

Just because these people are working in hospitality...

So, "hospitality"...

The hospitality industry has nothing to do with hospitals.

It's basically the industry of taking care of people.

So, hotels, restaurants, waiters, waitresses, etc.

Don't forget to tip.

Okay?

If you're staying in the room for a few days, leave a little bit of money for the maid.

Okay?

If you're going to the restaurants, leave a tip for the waitresses and waiters.

They also tip their cooks after or the chefs, whatever.

Be polite, be courteous, follow the cultural rules of the place you're at.

Sometimes if you don't do that you might find out that later that something not nice happened

to you.

If you go to a restaurant and you're rude to the waiter or waitress or you don't tip,

but then you go back another time, and they'll remember you - they might do something not

so nice to your food, so you don't want that to happen.

Be nice, follow the cultural norms of the place.

I hope that's very helpful.

I hope you have a great time on your travels, wherever it is that you end up going.

If you need these words, you know them, go practice them on www.engvid.com.

Fixing Sticking Dragging Brakes On Your Car - Duration: 2:03.

one, two, three, four!

Rev up your engines!

It's time for the Scotty Kilmer Channel

today I'm going to show you how to fix brakes that bind and stick and you can

barely turn the wheel and here's a quick way to check, you take off the wheel

then go to the caliper where the bleeder valve is right here then loosen the

bleeder to let pressure off the system now once you relieve the pressure on the

system if the master cylinder or the boosts are something is sticking then

the wheel will turn freely because there's no more pressure pushing on it

but in this case I still can't turn it so we know the calipers bad so we're

gonna put a new caliper on it's a pretty easy job it just bolts off and bolts on

you just unbolt the two bolts are holding on

then you pull a caliper off, off it comes, and you slide the new caliper on then

you tighten the two bolts up one on the top and one on the bottom then you take

the brake line off the old caliper and put it on the new one

and don't forget to put the new copper washers on get it on nice and snug then

you bleed the brakes out open the bleeder valve while somebody steps on

the brake okay step on the brake now then you tighten the bleeder valve once

the air comes out and repeat the bleeding process four or five times till

all of the air is gone and there we have it, brakes that don't bind any more, a simple fix

when you know what you're doing and remember if you've got any car questions

just visit the Scotty Kilmer channel and I'll answer them if I ever get tired of

drive in this triumph

How Does An Actor Handle Unwanted Advances In Hollywood? by Robin Riker - Duration: 7:12.

Film Courage: Can you think of a moment (let's say) the first five years of you living in

Los Angeles that helped shape your career?

Like I know you had talked about making inroads or unbeknownst to you that someone you used

to work with remembered you fondly and was handing your picture.

But maybe another story that maybe you weren't expecting …it was your first five years

and it kind of changed things for you?

Robin Riker: Well…I know that something happened in the first five years that reinforced

my ethic and my sense of integrity in this town.

And it was when a very well-known personality had taken a shine to me and knew that I was

looking for an apartment and offered to set me up in an apartment "no strings attached"

and…well I happen to know a little something about strings [laughs] and I refused.

I mean I graciously refused.

And I mean I met the person at the apartment to see what it was like and I took a girlfriend

along with me just in case and it was beautiful and it would have been wonderful!

But I would have been bought in some way and still by saying "no thank you" I still

needed to find an apartment.

But the power that I felt in (once again) counting on myself, I'd like to pay my own

rent and buy my own groceries thank you very much because that leaves me my own woman and

that was really empowering.

When I shared that story with some other people long ago they were like "Are you crazy?

You could have taken it and…"

"No!

I wouldn't have."

It would have compromised me in my world of morality.

It would have been the wrong thing to do and so I didn't do it.

And again, I had to still find another apartment.

But when you believe in yourself and you take a chance things come and it came.

Because honestly maintaining your integrity and your sense of self-worth is the most important

tool that you have here.

Absolutely the most important.

It goes back to many other things that we've talked about because if you have faith in

yourself and you know who you are in the world, it doesn't matter what anyone else says

or does because you know who you are.

And often the people who come from the smaller towns have an even a better sense of who they

are because they grew up in a much less superficial world where hard work and values were valued,

you know?

So to me that's your state of mind and your sense of self-worth are the most important

things that you can have.

So that was for me an opportunity to put up or shut up.

This is either what I believe or it's not what I believe and here's an opportunity…an

easy way to…it would have been easy, it would have been very easy to just take that

opportunity but I didn't…this isn't the way you go forward in my estimation.

Film Courage: That's a real elephant in the room in terms of the entertainment industry

and it happens to men, too.

Not just women.

Robin Riker: Of course it does.

Film Courage: And it can happen from other men or other women, whatever.

But I think it's hard for a younger person who then some how feels very special because

this person has chosen them and it's hard for them to see anything beyond this.

Robin Riker: Right.

And we want to be chosen!

That's why we come to Hollywood "Choose me!

See me!"

You know?

And temptation.

Film Courage: Right.

And someone in power [choosing them].

And I've known of people on both sides of the coin who have gone the way of being taken

care of and there are implications.

I don't think young people totally realize this.

Robin Riker: And then…if you got what you got…did you get it?

Or was it just given to you because of something that you bartered with?

And that's the other thing I say too with everybody (most everybody) loves to have a

good time romantically…so I was speaking at a college at this one point and this one

girl came up to me and said [whispering] "So what do you think about romance and the casting

couch?"

And I said "Look.

If you think you would have fun in bed with this person, have a night out with them, have

a night out with them for that reason alone but do not think for one moment the you are

going to get something out of it other than fun because you (no matter what gender you

are, no matter who is interested in you), you have something that this person can get

anywhere else and they (if there a person who says they have a job for you or some other

way of elevating you, have something that only a handful of people have to give.

You have nothing to bargain with but if you think you might have a good time, go ahead!

But don't expect anything out of it, you know?

And that also leaves you in power of your own life because you made the choice, not

because something was dangled before you.

But because you decided you would like to do it because it would be fun, not to get

something.

Film Courage: Right.

And I think there is this whole Scarlett Letter thing where "Oh…she did this for…"

and sometimes I can't always believe it as it feel like a made up story.

That's the ultimate putting the Scarlett Letter on someone.

"Well, this person got this thing because of doing this."

And half the time it's not even true.

Robin Riker: Right and spoken out of jealousy (like you mentioned before)!

Film Courage: Right.

And it could be that the other person actually did something similar.

It's an interesting thing that goes around and it's not openly talked about but it

exists.

I agree with what you're saying.

If [a decision to be in a relationship] is not about any type of barter trade agreement

[laughs] then that is one's personal choice.

But surviving the gossip of "this person did this, for that" is a very toxic thing.

Robin Riker: No.

You don't want that.

Again, I don't want that on me.

Get that off of me!

Film Courage: And remaining upbeat and finding hobbies.

Robin Riker: Right.

Living your life!

Live your life everyday.

Try to do something everyday that has nothing at all to do with show business.

It's me.

Let me explain.

Save me?

Save me from what?

It's hard to explain.

You changed.

Don't come close.

It's the sceptor magic.

She's generating a lot of magic every time someone comes close.

I don't know what's wrong with me.

Mal.

An introduction to YouTube's new design - Duration: 2:01.

Hey everyone, I'm Seung, a Product Manager on YouTube.com.

I'm Kevin, a UX Designer on YouTube.com.

I'm Mike, a Software Engineer on YouTube.com.

And today we're rolling out a new version of our desktop website.

Let's talk about that.

So here's the new homepage.

As you might notice, following Material Design, we revamped the overall design system to be

cleaner and simpler.

To really let the content shine through.

We also introduced infinite scrolling, making browsing easier - you no longer need to click to see more videos.

You might wonder where we put all the stuff

we originally had in our footer.

We consolidated all our user settings in one place - the new Account Menu.

We wanted to make the new Account Menu the home for everything about you, including your

channels and all your settings.

One brand new setting we're introducing is the Dark Theme.

This has been requested by users for a long time and now you can activate it from the

new Account Menu to cut down on glare and take in the true colors of the videos you watch.

Let's walk you through other parts of the site, like the Channel page.

The new channel page is designed to be more immersive, with more focus on the creator.

Alright, so now let's talk about the Watch page.

Like other parts of the site, we've cleaned it up so that focus is just on the video and the content.

If you want a greater immersion, we've updated the Theater mode to be larger and with a dark header.

Finally, we've also updated Transcripts, so that users with education or accessibility

needs can watch the video and read along at the same time.

Under the hood, we rebuilt the site from scratch on a fast and modern framework we call Polymer.

It means that our users can enjoy watching videos faster, and as an extra bonus we can

now introduce new features we couldn't build before, such as Dark Theme and many more yet

to come.

So that's the new site!

Please give it a shot, and we hope you enjoy it.

We have a lot of cool features in the works, so stay tuned to this channel.
