Is it wrong to use birth control?

Hi, welcome to today's Little Lesson.

So many of the questions that we get, the definitive answers to those questions can't

be found in scripture like today's question, because birth control in the form that we

know and understand it today in our modern society and culture, it didn't exist back

in bible days.

We have to search for principles and truths that we can apply to these modern situations.

Christians are divided on this issue.

Some Christians believe that it's wrong to use any kind of birth control, because you're

preventing what could be a person who God wants to create.

Who are we to be standing in the way of God creating a person?

I'll say right off the bat, that if you are persuaded that it's wrong to use birth control,

I would never ask you to violate your conscience.

If it's wrong to you, it's wrong to you, and so you have to follow your own convictions

as best you can.

However, that being said, maybe we ought to think about some of the factors that revolve

around this ethical question.

I think I'll say first of all, that there are different forms of birth control, and

this is where maybe we can begin to answer this question.

There's one form of birth control that actually causes an abortion of a baby.

I don't like to use the word, "Fetus," I like to use the word, "Baby," that has been conceived.

If you leave it alone, whether you think it's a baby or not, it's going to become a baby,

so you're killing a living thing that if left alone, would become a living, viable baby

and human being.

If it's not murder, it certainly is as close as you could possibly get to murder.

Personally, my conviction is that that form of birth control would be morally unacceptable.

But there are other forms of birth control that prevent conception from even happening,

and there is one form of birth control that has been around since the beginning of time

that works like that.

It's called abstinence, right?

Right.

Although we know that the idea of conception, and the development and growth of a baby is

a divine, miraculous thing, just like the millions of other things that are happening

in all of our bodies every second that we take for granted, there is a human side to

all of this.

If it's wrong to use birth control, then maybe we should conclude it's wrong to abstain from

sex between married partners.

But then where would you draw the line there, you know?

If you don't have a sexual relationship with your spouse on a certain day of the week,

then that's possibly preventing a child from being created, and who could say that that's

wrong?

Are you going to say that, "Well, God wants married couples to have sex every day, or

twice a day, to make sure they don't miss any of those people-creating opportunities?"

Well, I know some husbands who would sure love to be able to say that.

Never met any wives.

I just think that's unreasonable, and so to say that more modern forms of birth control

that allow sexual relationship, but yet prevent conception, to say that those methods would

be morally wrong, whereas abstinence is not morally wrong, I think that would be somewhat

contradictory, okay?

Maybe one other thing I could say before I wind this down a little bit, most married

couples who use some form of birth control, they're not thinking of preventing children,

so much as they're thinking of timing the children, and the degree that timing effects

their ability to be good parents for those children.

I mean, let's face it, having children is a big, big, big job.

The more you have, it's a bigger job, and the closer they are in frequency after another,

oh my goodness.

Mothers and fathers who have lots of kids close together, these are very special and

wonderful people.

I think we all believe that children are wonderful, but does that mean that 30 children, just

being pregnant for 20 or 30 years non-stop is somehow more admirable than having five

children?

I'm not ready to say that.

My wife and I, we decided that we wanted to be able to invest ourselves in the children

that we had, and not neglect any of our children for any reason.

We recognize that that is a possibility when there's more and more children.

Again, this is not to say anything to discourage anyone from having more children.

Everybody has to decide this for themselves, and if you feel that you could have lots,

and lots, and lots of children, and give them all the attention that they need and deserve,

I admire you greatly, and I pray that you'll succeed at what your ideal is.

In my case, we've got three wonderful children, and they've given us so far, seven wonderful

grandchildren.

Do we regret not having more children?

Well, yes and no.

Do I regret not having 20 children?

Well, that would have effected the quality of all of our lives, including those children

that we did have.

In my humble opinion, it was better for us to try to space our kids apart a little bit,

and not have 20, okay?

All right, well, this is a Little Lesson.

You might disagree with me, I love you anyways, okay?

There's much more that could be said, but I just thought I'd throw out at least a preliminary

answer to provoke a little bit of thought on a subject that sometimes is debated amongst

sincere Christians.

Thank you so much for joining me.

God bless you.

What is a 1031 Exchange and What Does It Do for You?// The Real Estate Blitz! - Duration: 3:37.

Hey everybody!

What's going on?

KSAKris here!

The Real Estate Blitz!

And I wanted to talk about converting 1031 exchanges.

Converting low cash flow properties so a potential client can actually make more money in fact,

this is something that you can target and go after these people in order to generate

more deals.

So what is a 1031 exchange?

Basically a 1031 Exchange is if you have a property that is a rental property - designated

rental property and you wanted to sell that property.

You can sell it and you can purchase light properties without paying taxes.

You don't have to pay the taxes on that property so you're selling your property to purchase

another property or properties that are like it, in order to generate more cash flow and

more income.

First!

There are three things that you're looking for when you do buy and hold properties.

You're looking for the "cash flow" -that's the amount of money that you get every month

that's coming in.

That's the "appreciation" so over time the value of the property should increase and

then the "depreciation" that's the third one.

Depreciation is being able to write off-on taxes.

It's basically a tax write off so the more I can write-off you know because with money

there's only two ways to make it.

You either make more or you find a way to save it.

Having write-offs is saving money therefore you're making money right?

You pay less to the government, you keep more therefore you make more profit.

So that's the very first thing you need to understand.

Now cash flow properties.

The reason why a lot of people want to 1031 exchange is, the property that they presently

are in may not be making the cash flow or the appreciation or ... okay let me start

for one.

It may not be making the cash flow that they would like it to make so for example: I own

a $400,000, I only make $12,000 per month on that house, I know if I purchased a different

house in a different area I could be making $4,000 a month because I'm gonna get 1% per

month on principle meaning if I own a $400,000, I should be making 1% on the $400,000 right?

So that's 12% per year, that's $4,000 per month.

Now when a lot of people buy these properties they buy em - so it's worth $400,000 now but

when you bought it, it was only worth $120,000 therefore the $1,200 per month makes good

sense, but not for what it's worth right now.

The other thing that why people might want to get rid of it : Well they can't really

depreciate anymore, they've owned the house for five or more years, they can't really

write it off anymore so they're looking for something else because that is a way of making

more money.

They want to get into something that they can write off so they can make more cash.

And then the very last one, the overall appreciation.

The house has appreciated so much that they want to take that extra income and purchase

more property so again.

I bought the house for $120,000 - it's worth $400,000 right now, I can sell this and maybe

buy two houses or three houses or just a better cash flowing property.

So that's why people would want to 1031 exchange a home.

So now we got to figure out what next.

Go ahead and do me a favor!

I just want to give you a quick rundown of what the 1031 Exchange was today and why people

would want to do a 1031 exchange in general.

The next video I'm going to do is actually going to break down how to actually adjust

from a low cash flow property to a high cash flow property.

Alright that's all I got today!

Appreciate y'all.

Do me a favor!

LIKE/SHARE/COMMENT And I hope this quick little series - I'm gonna do three or four videos

just on 1031 exchanges, I hope it helps you all out.

Alright have a good one.

The 2018 Monaco Marquis is the Worst RV on Sale Today - Duration: 3:29.

hello and welcome back to shift hard I have a question for you

what's the most expensive single axle RV ever seen or sale let's

see it was about $400,000 $400,000 seems about there for a very nice high-end

luxury single axle army but Monaco has just

come out with a new model you can see it on the screen here it's called the

Marquis but get this it costs seven hundred thousand dollars

seven hundred thousand dollars now that's quite price tag to justify what

would you think could justify this the nicest of everything you'd expect so but

Monica's website doesn't actually contain any information in regards to

the amenities into your pictures it does have information about the chassis bill

it's built on a Freightliner chassis with a Cummins is online it has 380

horsepower it also offers a tag axle version which you can see on screen here

the issue of that though is the tag axle only has the 380 horsepower

now that's 380 horsepower with d EF and regulations I don't even think that

could get up the hill no another thing with coaches in this

price range you usually get quite a degree of customizability but the marque

only offers for paint schemes three floor plans and two interior choices

that's all you get

you

now I don't mean to toot my own horn here anything which is funny because

that's exactly what I'm doing but I'm really good at Photoshop and when I came

across this image which I got directly from Monica's website I couldn't help

but notice how terrible I was if you look you can see the reflection of the

grass which it was parked on on the bottom side of the coach this could have

been easily edited out but I guess that was too much work I wonder if that's how

they built the coach tune oh you want me to plumb in this toilet that's too much

work I'll just put it in and maybe nobody will notice you can also see that

they lopped off the bottom part of the tires this is because they couldn't be

bothered to mow the grass they were gonna put it on no no they just put it

on there you can even see where they completely missed a piece of the grass

now it's just a fuzzy granulated little line right under the rear wheel now keep

in mind this photo was on their front page for a time all of this is just

another example of Monaco's lack of quality and blatant cost-cutting

measures since they were taken over by the REV Group in 2013 $700,000

sure is a lot of money for a cheap coach you know you're absolutely right but

what are your thoughts on all this madness be sure and leave us a comment

below we're not making this up either go check out Monaco's website for more

information and to use their handy build feature to see their outlandish prices

What is a Defined Contribution Plan & How Does It Work? | You Money, Your Choices with Susan Daley - Duration: 4:11.

If you're fortunate to be one of the 1.1 million Canadian participants of a defined contribution

pension plan, you might be curious how these plans work and what their benefits might be.

In today's video, I'll outline what a defined contribution pension plan is

how it works, and some of the drawbacks associated with this plan.

I'm Susan Daley and this is Your Money, Your Choices.

A defined contribution pension plan is aptly named, since the employer benefits portion

of this plan are related to the contributions.

Each year, the employer will contribute a specific dollar amount to the plan.

This is usually stated as a percentage of your salary.

The employer contribution is often contingent on you making a contribution to the plan yourself,

but doesn't have to be.

For example, your employer may match contributions up to 4% of your salary.

If you contribute 3%, your employer will contribute 3%, if you contribute 5%, your employer will

only give you 4%.

This is often referred to as "free money" since for those who would already be saving

for their future, their employer is topping that up for them.

Sun Life Financial estimates that Canadians are leaving over $3 billion on the table from

not contributing to these matching programs.

Of course there are many reasons why Canadians are using their money for other things aside

from matching, but if it's a result of lack of knowledge, that's something that needs

to be addressed!

Unfortunately, with this type of plan, the employer is only responsible for providing

a contribution to the plan.

Once they've made that contribution, the rest is up to you.

You are given a list of options to invest in based on what the pension plan provider

(like Sun Life, Manulife, or Great West Life) is offering.

It is your responsibility to select the investment option that you're comfortable with from

a risk perspective.

For more information about risks when investing, check out my "Risks for Millennials Investors"

video.

The amount of money you receive at retirement will depend on how much you contributed to

the plan, and how well your investments have done.

These plans should really be called savings plans, rather than pension plans.

A Defined Contribution plan is similar to an RRSP (with employer contributions).

However your investment options are limited, and there are additional government restrictions

around withdrawing your money.

Now if you watched my previous video around Defined Benefit pension plans, you might be

thinking, this plan isn't nearly as good as a defined benefit plan.

All the risk is on you.

And in general, you're right.

A Defined Contribution plan may provide some advantages over a defined benefit plan though:

First, the money saved in your plan won't change (aside from savings, withdrawals, and

your investment returns) if your employer goes bankrupt.

Second, you should have greater flexibility around withdrawing your income in retirement.

Third, you can receive a higher retirement income if you invest in a riskier manner and

it works out for you.

However, the opposite could be true, if you outlive what your assets can provide due to

a long life or your investments fall at the wrong time.

Fourth, a lump sum is available to your heirs if you (and your spouse) pass away before

spending the income.

Most individuals don't have a choice whether they have a defined contribution or defined

benefit plan, though it's important to know which plan you have so that you can plan for

your retirement accordingly.

In addition, depending on the plan you currently have and the plan at a potential employer,

this may be a consideration if you're looking to switch jobs.

In the future, I'll outline in detail what options you have with pension plans if you

do change employers.

Are you one of the lucky 6.3 million Canadians that has an employer pension plan?

I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.

What is Crosstalk and How to Identify it With an Oscilloscope - Scopes University - (S1E9) - Duration: 6:31.

PCB form-factor requirements are getting smaller and smaller, which means

we're designing our layouts with traces closer and closer together. But if we put

them too close, they can interfere with each other causing the receiver to get

incorrect information. In this episode we will be walking through how the effects

of crosstalk can help you make important design and redesign decisions.

Hi, I'm Melissa and welcome to Scope's University.

If you have traces too close together they can interfere with each other. Serial data can disrupt power

lines, power lines can disrupt serial lines, and serial lines can interfere with

each other. Think of a self-driving vehicle. What if a serial packet was sent

that was meant to turn a vehicle left by 90 degrees, but because of interference

from another trace, the receiver saw this. And what if this packet means to turn

the car right by 90 degrees. Obviously some protocols have more strict

margins than others, but you get my point. We want to send accurate signals.

When signals on a board interfere with each other, we call this crosstalk.

Luckily, you don't have to wait for your components to malfunction or your

self-driving prototype to drive itself into a lake to find out if you have an

issue. I'm going to show you how you can use Keysight's crosstalk application to

find crosstalk and model how much better your designs could be without it.

The crosstalk app can analyze up to four signals at once, so, if you have

multiple traces close together you can test them all. On my board, I have three

serial data lines that are very close together and I think that trace in the

middle is at risk with interference from the traces on either side of it. My

middle trace is the victim signal and the ones on the outside are called the

aggressor signals. I've connected the victim to channel 1 and the aggressors

to channels 2 and 3. First I'll create an eye diagram to see what my margins look

like and find out if there is really a problem. I've centered my waveforms on

screen and vertically scaled them. So now I'll go to analyze, choose quick eye

diagrams, and channel 1. This shows me what the eye diagram is of

the victim signal. You can see the eye opening is very small which means I do

have errors and could be sending false packets, potentially sending my drone

right into my coworker instead of up into the sky.

But redesigning and building a new PCB board can be extensive, a lot of hard

work, and very expensive. So to find out if it is worth it to go through all of

that, I could have my crosstalk application quantify the amount of

crosstalk on my victim, then remove it so I can view how my signal would look

if I had a better layout. To you set up my crosstalk application I'll go to the

analyze menu and choose crosstalk. I want my channel 1 signal to be set up

as the victim and I'll have the scope automatically configure my thresholds

and clock recovery. I'm going to set channel 2 as an agressor signal. It's

serial data and again I'm going to have the scope Auto configure that. And

channel 3 is also an aggressor so I'll just go through the same steps. Now going

back to signal 1, I'm going to remove crosstalk from signal 2, signal 3, and any

unknown crosstalk or noise that could be occurring. Now I'll just enable this

application and let the tool run. This red trace is now signal 1, the victim

signal, with all of the crosstalk from channels 2 and 3 and any unknown

crosstalk removed. Already we can see improvement. I'll create an eye diagram

of this function to find out just how much it can be improved. To create an

eye diagram on a function I'll go back to my analyze menu and I'll choose

gallery, and I'll scroll down to this real-time eye, and here's my function

crosstalk 1 and I'll turn on the eye diagram for that. Now you can see just

how much more open the eye actually is compared to our original signal as is.

To quantify how much more open the eye is, I can add some measurements.

We'll go to the measurement menu, add measurements, and over here I'm going to

choose eye, and then we'll add eye height and eye width. Down here are my

measurements so my eye width is 74 ps and my eye height is only

27.7 mV. Let's see how that compares to the

signal with crosstalk removed. I'll go to measure, add measurement, and we'll add

eye height - first I have to choose my source - so do this on crosstalk 1. We'll

apply eye height and we'll apply eye width. If I redesign my board to

improve the layout and get rid of the crosstalk my eye width could potentially

be 125 ps compared to the 88 ps we have now.

Additionally the eye height is 109 mV, whereas the eye height as it

is in this design is only 13 mV. After seeing how much better my eye

diagram is with the crosstalk removed, I think in this case it might be worth it

for me to redo my layout and find a better route for these traces and I can

use these measurements to justify the extra budget I need for a redesign. If

you think this analysis tool would be useful to you, I encourage you to check

out the link in the description below.

BREAKING!! TRUMP IS DOING IT!! DEPORTING Famous CELEB!!! HELL YEAH! - BreakingNews24 - Duration: 34:36.

BREAKING!!

TRUMP IS DOING IT!!

DEPORTING Famous CELEB!!!

HELL YEAH!

During Barack Obama's presidency, he did all he could to destroy this nation, and he

got pretty darn close to it.

Obama not only pushed back race relations decades with his manufactured race war, but

he also allowed floods of illegals to pour into our country unvetted and unchecked so

they could vote for Democrats in upcoming elections.

After years of witnessing this disgusting disregard for our nation's laws, President

Trump is in charge and working hard to fix the mess Obama allowed.

President Trump has been busy overturning Obama-era programs that benefitted everyone

else in the world, but the American people.

Over this past summer, on the chopping block was the Obama-era CIA program that helped

arm rebels who were fighting the Syrian government.

Then there was the Paris Climate Accord and NAFTA that only protected foreign interests

over America, and Trump has just been in office for less than a year.

However, the most significant cut of the year was Obama's hotly contested Deferred Action

for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) that caused the left to disintegrate into hysterics.

So much so that these Democrats have shut the government down until Trump grants these

Dreamers amnesty.

Not to be deterred by the shameless blackmail from the left Trump is pressing on and is

now deporting celebrities with an illegal immigrant status sending a clear message that

he is not one to trifle with, and all we can say is hell yeah!

Over the last several years, the left has flipped the illegal immigration argument on

its head by making those that cross the border victims instead of criminals.

They have brainwashed an entire generation efficiently into believing that these illegals

have every right to be here and the American taxpayer needs to open their wallet to pay

for them.

There have been marches in the streets, violent protests, and now a government shutdown to

keep these criminals here but that has not stopped Trump from making sure those that

are here illegally go back to where they came from, and it is about time.

Two illegals that have been able to gain notoriety for their liberal activism have been detained

and are now being deported by the Trump administration after being passed over for years by ICE agents

under the Obama administration.

Here is more from Conservative Tribune:

Ravidath Ragbir and Jean Montrevil, both prominent figures within the pro-illegal immigration

group New Sanctuary Coalition of New York City, were detained and deported by Immigration

and Customs Enforcement after years of being allowed to stay in the country at the discretion

of federal officials — in spite of the fact that both had been convicted of serious crimes.

According to the New York Daily News, Ragbir was detained by ICE on Jan. 11 and informed

that his reprieve from deportation would not be extended further.

Ragbir, executive director of New Sanctuary, was checking in at the ICE office in New York

City when he was detained.

While Ragbir had immigrated to the United States legally back in 1991 from Trinidad

and Tobago, he was convicted of wire fraud in 2000, according to The New York Times.

Ragbir received a deportation order in 2006, but in 2011 ICE officials in New York City

gave him a reprieve of deportation.

That reprieve was extended last April, but ICE officials informed Ragbir that reprieve

would not be extended further.

A judge will now decide his fate.

One week later, Haitian national Jean Montrevil — a co-founder of New Sanctuary — was

deported after being taken into custody in early January.

Montrevil, who had entered the United States in 1986, had served time on a drug possession

charge and was in the process of appealing a deportation order.

According to The Intercept, Montrevil's lawyer said his client "believed that he

had reached an understanding with ICE officials."

The general consensus among members of the activist community was that these arrests

were targeted acts.

Well, of course, they feel that the acts were targeted, but that could not be further from

the truth.

In fact, these two "activists" were breaking the law by living in the country illegally

and had been passed over numerous time for deportation in the past.

This was not a vendetta against them but rather a president FINALLY enforcing our immigration

laws that have been ignored for almost a decade and more.

However, there is more to the story as there always is when you are dealing with lying

leftists.

These two illegals are not as lily white as they are trying to paint them.

Mr. Montrevil and Mr. Ragbir brought are both criminals who have served time in prison so

under our laws they get a free pass back to their home country.

According to The New York Times, Montrevil served five years in prison when he was sentenced

to 11 for drug possession, and Ragbir spent time in the pokey for embezzling $400,000.

Both of these men committed crimes and served prison sentences which should have had them

deported in the beginning, but they were lucky and flew under the radar.

Now, their luck has run out, and they are heading back to where they came from, and

if their families are upset, that is on them.

These two men had every opportunity to become legal citizens, but they chose not to, and

now they have to face the consequences of their actions despite their "celebrity"

status.

BREAKING!!! IT'S HAPPENING NOW After Shutdown!! BLOOD Is On Schumer's Hands! - BreakingNews24 - Duration: 34:36.

BREAKING!!!

IT'S HAPPENING NOW After Shutdown!!

BLOOD Is On Schumer's Hands!

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took to social media to make a point about the

government shutdown.

She has been tweeting out messages against Senate Democrats who refused to vote for the

continuing resolution that would fund the government for another month as well as CHIP

for another six years.

The Gateway Pundit reported,

"The House budget resolution failed a cloture vote in the Senate on a largely party-line

vote, 50 to 49.

The Schumer Shutdown went into effect shortly after midnight Saturday.

The Democrats chose illegal aliens over our wonderful men and women serving in the Military.

Let that sink in.

On Saturday, Sarah Sanders tweeted out a photo sent to her from an infantryman serving in

Afghanistan.

Thank you, Chuck Schumer and Democrats!

This is all on you!

American Forces Network provides entertainment and other services to our service members

overseas.

Due to Schumer's shutdown, our men and women overseas currently do not have access to this

network.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted, "I received this from a young infantryman

serving in Afghanistan this morning.

Sad that the men and women who have sacrificed so much are deprived of even the most basic

connection to home bc Democrats are playing political games.

#SchumerShutdown.""The Independent Journal Review noted,

"When the government began its shutdown Friday, people on both sides of the political

aisle tossed blame at one another.

The impact the shutdown has on government services is far-reaching.

The suspension of federal funding makes things especially difficult for our men and women

in uniform.

According to Pew Research, there were 1.3 million active duty members of the U.S. military

in 2016, and in August, the Pentagon announced there were 11,000 troops serving in Afghanistan. If

Congress fails to pass a provision for the military and the shutdown extends through

Feb. 1, it will have a devastating impact on military pay.

But as it turns out, services to our troops are already being cut.

It didn't take long for some DOD operations to grind to a halt: American Forces Network,

which provides entertainment and command information to U.S. servicemembers worldwide through its

television and radio services, was dark early Saturday morning in Europe.

Classical music was playing on its radio and television stations and the network posted

a message online that said AFN services were not available due to the government shutdown.

Sanders isn't the only one in the White House to go after Democrats for the shutdown.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump said Democrats in Congress were taking the military "hostage"

over their desire to keep "unchecked illegal immigration.""

Even though troops won't have regular access to the internet, ESPN came to save the day

for the upcoming NFL championships.

"The American Forces Network will broadcast the NFL's conference championship games

despite the federal government shutdown.

There was some question about access to the games for military outside the U.S. after

the AFN put a message on its Facebook page on Saturday that its services would not be

available because of the shutdown.

The network airs American radio and television programming in Europe and other locations

outside the U.S..

But White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders posted Sunday on her Twitter account

that the AFN had been restored.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy also tweeted that the games would be on the network and

called it "great news."

New England takes on Jacksonville in the AFC Championship Game, and Minnesota faces Philadelphia

in the NFC Championship Game."

The shutdown not only threatens our military but so many other aspects of our society such

as passport services, Secret Service detail, capitol security, veterans benefits Medicare

benefits, Medicaid benefits, and the salaries of hundreds of thousands of American citizens

who work for the state and federal government.

Senate Democrats have placed our military personnel in danger by shutting down the government

as well as many American citizens.

If our military doesn't have the resources to self-sustain they will not be able to carry

out our missions while overseas placing not only them but the United States in danger.

They are placing the lives of 650,000 DACA recipients above the 9,500,000 children who

are recipients of the Children's Health Insurance Program.

The simple math is pretty easy to figure out that these children's lives are the most

important.

It should go without saying, it's self-explanatory.

People can die over these types of issues yet over the weekend both sides of the aisle

were busy arguing over whether the shutdown was the Schumer Shutdown or Trump Shutdown.

Instead of debating and negotiating to bring the government back into business.

While there has been another vote scheduled it appears that no headway has been made and

our military will be left to continue to suffer.

Trump is at Davos - and it's all everyone is talking about | CNBC Reports - Duration: 2:04.

There's a record number of world leaders at Davos this year,

but it's no surprise who's stealing the spotlight.

When I decided to come to Davos, I didn't think in terms of elitist or globalist.

I thought in terms of lots of people that want to invest lots of money,

and they're all coming back to the United States.

Davos-goers are puzzled the president would choose to attend a conference that champions

the ideals of globalization he so often attacks.

America first, America first is not the message that the world wants to hear.

We want to hear about America which is engaged.

Throughout the conference, European leaders haven't exactly

held back their distaste for President Trump's agenda,

with Angela Merkel saying "protectionism is not the proper answer"

and Emmanuel Macron adding globalization is facing a "major crisis."

A new Gallup poll across more than 100 countries found

approval of U.S. leadership has dropped to a new low under President Trump.

Germany has now replaced the U.S. as the top-rated global power in the world

for the first time since 2011.

Here in Switzerland, protesters have taken to the streets to march against a

president they believe has turned his back on the rest of the world.

Police are on high alert. The Swiss government estimates

over $9 million was spent on security measures.

It's a disgrace that Switzerland, an open and democratic country,

provides a platform for people like him.

Despite President Trump's unpopularity abroad, many CEOs here at Davos are

praising his efforts back home, as they look set to benefit

from his corporate tax overhaul.

If you want America to be very competitive, you need a competitive tax system.

But none of this has deterred President Trump, whose Friday speech here

is expected to drill home the idea of investing in America first.

Hey everyone, it's Elizabeth. Thanks so much for watching our video.

You can check out more of our stories over here.

We're also always taking your suggestions for future videos.

So leave any ideas in the comments section.

Bye from Switzerland!

ParcelMap BC What Is It And How Is It Used? - Duration: 1:22.

In recent years we've developed an application known as parcel map BC so

over the last three years what we've built is we built a single complete and

trusted visual representation so an electronic map of all of the parcels

within British Columbia so that 2.4 million parcels that I've talked about

we've built into a single visual map that allow people to get access to land

information much quicker. We're maintaining it with every new survey

plan that's coming in we're proving we're improving it we're moving towards

that single one-stop representation. The the need for a map an electronic map of

all of those parcels within British Columbia has been there for years

there's just never been the opportunity or the ability to fund the construction

of such a map. We spend about twenty-two million in building it we've now got it

up and operating with the support of British Columbia land surveyors we can

maintain it for the future and create an asset that has real value for British Columbia

What Digital Workspace Is and Why You Need It - Duration: 3:22.

[MUSIC]

>>CHRIS COUGHLIN: The best way to describe digital workspace is think about in the '90s

where you're sitting at a desk, you were tied to a terminal, you couldn't be mobile maybe

if you're a salesperson you couldn't necessarily be out there talking to people.

Digital workspace is enablement: it's the ability to be productive, to access corporate

data, to have secure corporate data, to be able to access contacts, make conference calls

and interact with your customers on the fly so it makes you more productive and it makes

you more reliable in the field.

[music]

>>DAVID GARCIA: When you sign on once it gives you identity management so the IT group

knows who you are, what apps you're using, what apps are in your catalogue, apps that

they can push or take back from you, and it makes it really a very seamless way to work.

In today's environment we're signing on to every registration application individually,

sometimes you forget your password some people keep a repository for their passwords, some

don't, some have them kept somewhere insecurely, which is really not good for IT and Workspace

allows you to sign on once and get access to everything you need.

>>CHRIS COUGHLIN: So it meets the needs of organizations from a flexibility standpoint

and because of that mobility that in five years 72 percent of software interaction are

going to be on mobile devices.

For example, I was on two WebExs yesterday just on my mobile device.

The great thing about the software and the capabilities of that software is that I can

login and then I can be actually called at the same time, so it's not me fumbling around

trying to figure out, "Okay, what's the phone number and what's the capabilities?"

I can actually see the data when I need to be flexible with my schedule and it allows

me to still be productive at the same time.

[MUSIC]

>>DAVID GARCIA: The consolidation to a workspace makes sense because it gives people choice:

it allows them to work on whatever device they want anywhere they want.

>>CHRIS COUGHLIN: Especially with modern-day worker and the younger workers that are now

entering the workforce they want that flexibility, they want the tools to, when they join an

organization, "How's this organization going to enable me and let me be productive if I

can't always be in the office?"

And so what we're seeing is they've got those tools on demand, they can even use their personal

tools but login securely throw products like VMware's Workspace One where they can login

from anywhere and get access to just their specific datasets versus say something else

that another type of user is using.

But they get that flexibility and the organization gets that productivity up.

What excites me the most is the ability to provide tools and resources that make it easy

because IT has such a big burden on it and a lot of times IT individuals are the first

people we're talking to and so they're like, "Hey, I need a solution.

I need it yesterday."

And so we can show them products and services that integrate well together, that have a

single console that they can manage everything and they can get up to speed on them and be

trained on them very quickly.

[MUSIC]

>>DAVID GARCIA: The assessment process for determining whether a customer's right for

a digital workspace is really asking a lot of questions.

Understanding the customer's current environment, who their workforce is, where they like to

work, what kind of devices they're using, are they a BYOD shop, are they a mixed environment,

how are they pushing out applications today, how are they managing them, do they have access

to apps beyond what is being delivered in a seamless and easy fashion?

Is It Cost Effective Paying For A LinkedIn Careers Page? - Duration: 2:31.

Is it cost-effective paying for a LinkedIn careers page?

I was having this conversation with a client this week and whilst it's undoubtedly a massive

networking site, they love telling you at the drop of a hat how many members they've got (!)

There's definitely things you can be doing for free as a business

to attract talent that don't require you paying a large monthly sum.

If you've already committed to a careers page, or, you're thinking about getting one,

here's some things to consider:

Do the maths.

LinkedIn will charge you £1,000 per job slot,

you'll have to take a minimum of 5 over the course of a year,

and their silver careers package is about £12,000 a year.

That's just a basic package, you don't get the Recruiter Seat with that.

The first thing that I would do is separate out hires made from LinkedIn applications,

and hires made from LinkedIn searches.

I did it in my last business. The cost per hire for applications was about £12,000.

The cost per hire from searching on LinkedIn was £2,000.

By dropping the careers page and the job slots,

we looked to save £22,000 over the course of the year.

Don't believe everything you hear.

LinkedIn sends you a presentation as you near renewal and it will show you on one

of the slides how many employees changed their profile to working for your

business over the course of the year. It's kind of like they're trying to take

credit for making that hire. Make sure you go armed with your own statistics.

Know which employees came from which sources so you can get them to verify any claims.

Go premium!

A recruiter seat is an expensive investment. It's about £6,000

for 12 months and that's for one recruiter.

You can only use it on one PC.

The advertised benefits are it will show profile recommendations and you can

send targeted messages. In my opinion, it's nothing that you can't do with a

premium license and they cost you about £900 per head, per year.

You can just buy them on a company credit card.

If you're considering paying for LinkedIn, keep 3 things in mind:

(1) Know what your cost per hire is, (2) go armed with

your recruitment statistics so you know which marketing sources work best

and (3) look into premium licenses.

A well-managed, free, and basic company page,

promoted by your employees,

can be the most cost effective way of getting the most out of LinkedIn.
