Youtube daily how May 28 2018

Oof x4

Hello gang!

A little bit of a more relaxed video.

I got my glasses. Got a big hoodie.

For those of you that do not know, May is mental health awareness month

So I figured I would do a chill video talking about mental health, and how I deal, and all that jazz.

Because, there's nothing wrong with talking about mental health, and we should get used to it. You know?

So, I've kind of always struggled with my mental health, like my whole life growing up.

Specifically with anxiety, I had really bad social anxiety and separation anxiety.

And over the years it's gotten a lot better, and kind of morphed and manifested into other things.

I still have pretty bad social anxiety

But I also struggle with depression, and that kind of side of things

'Cuz those two kind of just go hand in hand.

Perfect little pair to ruin you.

Growing up it was really around, um,

Speaking in front of the class, doing presentations, stuff like that.

Now I really struggle with going into stores and talking to cashiers, making transactions, talking to new people

Stuff like that is more what I struggle with

And more, like, day to day what is upsetting to me.

I would say it didn't really become like an issue until I turned like 13

And then it was a very big issue, I actually had to be pulled out of school for a little bit.

I basically just slept for four months, I had a really bad depressive episode.

But that is when I cut my hair, A,

And B, I also started seeing a therapist, which is very beneficial, for me at least.

And, at the time, was extremely beneficial.

I don't want to, like, accidentally bring the tone of this down.

I don't want to make this a sad, serious video.

Because, that's not, like, how I am with this kind of stuff.

Like, this isn't a super sad, serious topic for me. It's more just like, this is my life.

And I want it to just be chill

And I am okay, like making jokes about it, like it's totally

Thank you, train.

It's not like something that's weird for me, so I don't want to bring the tone down.

I am actually still not in normal school, because of mental health stuff.

Like, how it manifests now is more...

I can't be in crowded places, I have a lot of executive dysfunction, I have a lot of self care issues.

Like, it's more internal than, like, external.

Whereas, when I was younger, it was a lot more like

If I didn't like something, I would just cry, like kids do.

But now, it's more I just internalize it and internalize it, and get really, really tired.

But that's more how it manifests now, so I really have to be careful with...

Like, making sure that I talk to people, making sure that I eat, making sure that I take my meds

Stuff like that, because I'll just forget to do that.

Like, I'll just go in my room and just not talk to anybody for days.

In the past couple of years, I've really taken initiative, to make sure that I have a support system in place

Of people that will text me, or message me, and make sure that I ate, and drank water, and took my meds

And I use apps, I use Booster Buddy and Aloe Bud.

Two I would highly recommend.

If you are more of a goal oriented type person, and you want rewards, I would highly recommend Booster Buddy.

If you just want reminders, and like little things to be able to check in and see if you did it, I would recommend Aloe Bud.

Not sponsored by either, but if either of them wants to hit me up, please.

Hello.

I see a therapist weekly, to just kind of shoot the shit and talk about my life, and just how it is and how I've been doing.

I've been seeing her for like five years.

I think there's a lot of weird stigma around therapy.

And I want to do a whole video about therapy, and exchanges I've had with my therapist, because my therapist is hilarious.

I think people go and I think they just think of lying on a table, being psychoanalyzed kind of thing, when they think therapy.

And that's not it at all. Like my therapist- we literally talk about like podcasts

Like, last week I went in there and I literally talked about The Bright Sessions for, like, twenty minutes

And, like, got after her for not being caught up

That's literally the dynamic we have.

Just having someone to talk to is so beneficial.

I think when you're really in it you don't realize how much you need someone to just-

Not even try and help you, because it can feel like everyone around you is trying to help you and you don't want that-

So, to not even try and help you, but to just talk to you

It's really nice to have that.

Another thing that's really helped me with my anxiety had actually been meditation and mindfulness

And I know everyone that has anxiety has been asked, like,

"Oh my god, have you tried yoga? Have you tried meditation?"

It's like...

"Yeah, Karen. I have. Of course I have."

But if you can actually find something that jives with you

And isn't just like, "okay breathe in for seven seconds" and just teaches you 7/11 breathing

Or like, something stupid like that

It actually is beneficial.

I use two different apps. I use RelaxMelodies, and I just found one the other day that I really like.

I'm blanking on the name, hold on.

It's called Simple Habit, it's super easy to use, it has a really simple interface.

*phone dings*

Sorry, that's my girlfriend.

But yeah, both have courses for sleep, or just quick relaxation.

You can do five, ten, or twenty minute sessions, and just- you could do just like a quick check in

I've found that to be extremely beneficial, like if I'm feeling a panic attack coming on

I'll just do a quick check in, and be like "hey why is this happening? what's going on?"

And just taking a second to just put your earbuds in, close your eyes, focus on your breathing

And just be with yourself, and see what's happening, and what's going on.

And just feeling the emotions, validating the emotions, and letting them go

Letting them pass, is very beneficial to me.

And it might not be to you-

oh my god.

Sometimes when I meditate I'll use crystals, sometimes I don't

Sometimes I'll just sit there.

But just having something in your hands to kind of ground you is nice.

But that's just more personal preferance.

I find crystals to be very nice, and I like the energy

Personal preference, everybody has one.

That's just mine.

That's all I can think of, for this video

I don't want it to be super long, and I don't want it to be super serious, so

I'm just gonna keep it short and sweet, and just...

Keep it whatever.

I will list every app that I mentioned in the description

And maybe I'll link some helpful sources down there as well, for people that are struggling with anxiety, or whatever.

Whatever you got!

Don't feel ashamed to talk about your mental health, or to ask for help if you need it.

There's no shame in any of this, we all have something, and that's the moral of the story here.

You're gonna be okay.

It's all gonna be okay.

Hope you enjoyed, hope you're well, and until next time.

How To Remove Beggars From India(Hindi) - Duration: 9:33.

I see that child, tangled hair,

perhaps unwashed for years.

I don't remember his skin colour either, because

he is caked with dirt all the time.

And don't get me started about his clothes,

which were not meant for that chilly winter morning.

If you dare to look into his eyes, then you will understand how dogmatic he is.

He will get a rupee out of you, out of your sympathy

And if you will refuse him, he will cry menacingly, bang his feet on the ground.

Eventually, he will get a rupee out of you.

I always get anxious thinking about this, always thinking who did this to him.

Sometimes, I fight with myself that;

should I give him a rupee to spoil him, or help him by not giving anything.

Sometimes I curse myself, had I given him a pencil instead of money,

he could be carving out lines of his future, somewhere in the country.

This thought kept lingering in my mind till evening.

Today also, I though about it in the morning.

, that we are living with a veil of superstition.

How good would it be, if that child did not get a single rupee in the whole day.

Empty pockets, empty stomach. He should have learnt the value of money.

He must have learnt in some days that begging here is vain.

Begging is a thing of the past in India.

Every citizen is earning by hard work.

When will I see such a day.

Let's bring together that moment, when 1 rupee's value

increases so much that it can't be given to beggars.

And beggars become so self-dependent that they don't beg from anyone.

An India, my friend, where people don't give a single rupee to beggars

but take up responsibility for their children's education.

Let's remove begging from India.

I have heard that people's heart melts seeing him shivering.

And what a great deed he does. He donates a blanket to him and walks away.

He doesn't see that cause, nor tries to eliminate it.

He simply covers that cause and walks away.

People have done this also, saw dreams rolling down his cheeks.

Took up responsibility for his education, and this child their dearmost.

Now he cries daily before going to school.

He is unaware that his generations are prospering.

One day will come, when instead of getting money

he will start getting a pencil.

In his worn out palms, there will be no coin

but his lines of future.

A slate and a chalk can be given ocassionally.

The more he will rub chalk in slate,

More diamond will shine out from coal.

Let's mend a bad habit.

Let's eradicate begging from India.

Try one time and refuse to give to beggars.

He may starve for some days

but eventually he will find a source of income.

He,too, will understand the value of money.

Let's realize how mighty a pen is.

Don't spoil that child by giving him money.

Give him a pencil instead, and watch...

and listen...

More than alms,

he needs love.

I welcome you all to Gormint channel.

Today we will talk about begging.

I will start with an interesting story.

There lived a beggar in a city.

He earned money only by begging.

One day no one in the city gave him alms.

He was forced to steal chapatis.

Do you know what happened afterwards. He got caught.

and was tried in local court.

All evidences were against him

When judge asked him if he would like to say something in his defence.

then he said to the judge.

My Lord, I was very hungry and starving,

If I hadn't stolen chapatis, I would have died.

The judge listened to him carefully and after thinking for a while

gave his verdict that all the citizens of the town

be fined 100 rupees each.

and this thief be absolved.

After giving his verdict the judge said, addressing the audience

"That country, where beggary is tolerated, can never prosper.

can never prosper.

Friends, this story teaches us a lot.

Do you know India has the most number of beggars.

We live in a country where there are more than 4 lakh beggars.

We live in a country where beggary is tolerated.

And we encourage beggars by giving them alms.

We ourselves encourage them to beg, so that they beg when they don't even need money.

This is the reasin why the no. of beggars are increasing in India.

Let's get out of stories and talk about reality.

We all have given money to beggars in our life.

But, do we even think while giving, what will happen if we don't give any money?

Suppose, you are waiting at a place like railway station OR bus stop

and a beggar comes begging for alms.

And he says to you," Give for God's sake." "God will bless you."

What do you do in such a situation?

Most of us show pity on them and give them money

1 rupee, 2 rupees, 5 rupees whatever.

But,friends , the reality is that these people get successful in manipulating us.

These people operate in organized gangs.

They never go out begging alone.

They also beg when not needed.

Because they have developed a bad habit of begging.

and we people helped them create this habit.

Friends, it is not just to give a single rupee to such people.

If we give even a single rupee to these people,

we are contributing in India's sabotage.

Now, you will ask, how? Okay, I'll explain.

There's a psychological chain.

which is called Mental Feedback Loop.

It is important to understand this.

The chain starts when we give alms.

We give money to beggars. This way we encourage them to beg more.

They beg from other people too.

This feedback loop encourages them to beg more for alms.

Friends, we just have to understand

that if we stop giving alms to these people

they will ultimately stop begging for alms.

Let's assume that all the citizens of the town understand this

and no one in the city give money to beggars. What will happen?

The Buddhist View On Karma & How You Can Cleanse Yours - Duration: 3:03.

The Buddhist View On Karma & How You Can Cleanse Yours

By consciousreminder

Do you believe in karma?

Do you think you can escape the result of your deeds (action)?

Well, Buddhists and Hindus believe that Karma is a natural law, so it does not matter if

you believe in it or not, karma will strike.

Karma happens naturally to everyone.

According to Buddhists, these are the four characteristics of Karma.

Karma is Definite: Karma will happen no matter what.

Just like gravity, itll exert its force on everything and in all circumstances (you

can escape gravity, but not karma!!)

 Karma depends on your intentions.

 Karma is infallible.

Only your actions matter.

 Karma stays.

You can purify your karma through good deeds, but your bad karma still stays.

Believing in karma can change your life for better.

Youll be more conscious about your actions and its results.

You will be worried about the repercussions of the actions not just on yourself but also

on others.

According to Buddha, one can cleanse their bad karma and create better results.

Here are a few steps that you can take to cleanse your karma.

1.

Be Remorseful.

Regretting your negative choices can be really helpful to cleanse your karma as remorse cannot

be faked.

Karma recognizes honesty.

2.

Be Aware.

Always be aware of your deeds.

Buddhists believe in checking all 3 types of actions.

 Physical Verbal Mental.

A bad thought is also a bad karma.

3.

Be clear in your intentions.

Buddhists believe that intentions are more important than actions.

Sometimes things may get out of hand and thus result in some bad accident but if your intention

was good, then youll not face the complete brunt of karma.

4.

Be Grateful.

Gratitude keeps you humble and thus creates a positive aura around you.

Being ungrateful results in unwholesome actions.

Prepare a list of what you are grateful for.

5.

Be kind.

Be the best you can, for others.

Being kind brings happiness not just in your life but in the lives of others as well.

Itll be difficult at first to embark on this journey, but believe me youll live

a much happier life if you take the risk!

How to IDM - Duration: 2:37.

GOTCHA!

Realize that IDM stands for Intelligent Dance Music

But also realize that… nobody likes the term.

But everybody still uses it… for the lack of a better word.

So add a bit of intelligent snobbery to it…

"I guess I'm gonna make some… eh…

IDM tonight"

Yeah, but first…

Read some interesting facts about camels on Wikipedia, get a cup of tea, self-reflect

on your life, get a cup of tea, fold your clothes, get a cup of tea,

and then wonder: what are the elements of IDM?

Well…

Ask someone who makes IDM

IDM is about…

Being obsessed with computers

Being obsessed with modular synths

Being broke because of your obsession with computers and modular synths

Getting offended when anybody calls the genre "idm" and wondering how the name even caught

on when it's clearly called "experimental electronic music with varying influences from

techno, acid, hip-hop*

Get a DAW.

But not just a regular DAW, get a nerdy DAW.

Like Max or Pure Data.

Try to produce and render at least a short sample in it, so that you can later tell your

mates that you "USED" Max to make this track.

Realize that shit's too complicated, get frustrated and go back to good old FL.

Oh, listen to some IDM classics first.

Like, Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin, or Tri Repetae by Autechre.

Then realize listening to IDM is like being part of a secret society.

Cough

Go back to FL.

Get a drum pattern.

Something stuttery and glitchy.

Add a bunch of effects to make it sound cooler.

Record a lot of automations.

And then chop and rearrange.

Now grab some dreamy keys, and come up with a melody.

If you don't know how play keys, just hit all the black notes randomly until there's

a melody.

It's actually better that way, cause it sounds a little childish.

I believe it's called pentatonic, but who cares.

Drop some acid.

Don't forget the bass.

Copy and paste, change a thing or two, and here you go!

Upload it to SoundCloud.

Realize that you've just made a boring, paint by numbers IDM that nobody cares

about.

Get really upset about it, go cry in the corner (optionally), get a cup of tea, then realize

that being an electronic musician doesn't open too many doors in life, none weird enough

to mention anyway.

sigh

Proceed to do the same thing for 12 years straight, then realize that you're still

making boring pieces of shit.

Set up a YouTube channel and try to make better music while sharing the insights with people.

Then realize nobody cares about that either.

go cry in the corner (optionally)

Get a cup of tea

Oh…

Did I tell you that listening to IDM is like being part of a secret society?!

Holding Heart Space: How to Listen to Another Person - Heidi Dellaire - Duration: 5:58.

Hello everybody. Heidi here checking in.

Today I wanted to talk about

Space.

It's no coincidence of where I ended up today as I look around me.

Whoa!

We've certainly got

space. I am a Fort Popham State Park in Phippsburg, Maine and

the beach here at low tide is

extremely vast. It just goes on and on and on forever. It actually takes a little while to get down to the water.

so I'm gonna try to

cross a couple of puddles here.

And so bear with me as we jump in a second.

So I wanted to talk about space. I had this experience

With another human today.

Okay walking through water

Where

We just allowed space to happen.

You know what happens when you hold space for another person?

It makes them feel safe.

Makes them feel safe in a way that

They can truly express what may be in here.

That if we don't allow for there to be room to pause

And give space to another human to actually allow them to get out what's going on

They may miss it. We may miss it we may just override them and talk over them

When they were just getting ready

To say something very profound.

So this experience I had

Was with someone who is former military.

It's a lot going on in here

And

They just sort of started to talk

As we kept going

They said, I'm sorry I'm talking so much this isn't normally like me.

And I responded with please don't be sorry

Just continue to tell me

What you're feeling,

What's in your heart because this is safe space and you can just let it out

And they let some things out for the first time in

14 or 15 years, had been holding it, holding it in here

I felt pretty honored

That they felt safe enough to do that. What I want to get at is why do we do that to ourselves?

Why, why do we hold things in so much that if we let it out it could heal us?

Are we worried about what someone else is gonna think about our thoughts and our feelings?

Are we worried that once we let it release

And it's out there in the world for everyone to know?

Are we just worried ,really are we just really worried about

What other people think? I think that's what it comes down to a lot.

And what I think we forget

Is that we all have these experiences. We all have these incredible

experiences that connect us

that make us the same and

If we truly express these feelings

From the heart

We were able to connect more as people.

So when the occasion arises and you're with someone and you're feeling that

Maybe they've got something to say,

pause,

Give them the space.

Allow their heart to open. I call that heart space.

That's what holding heart space is all about.

Just hold the space for somebody else and their own time

To be able to speak

feel

all of that

And I wish you guys were here

This is an incredible place. this place today is holding space for me.

So, I'd love to hear from you guys

Do you have people in your life

That can hold space for you?

Are you holding things inside that need to be released?

And who do you need to do that with? Can you find someone you

Can hold that space for you,?there are many people who can.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on it or oh goodness. Check this out! The guy is in the canal.

Look at that. how awesome and fun

Hey, that's fantastic. I hope you guys enjoyed have a great day

How To MAKE MONEY As A Designer On STEEMIT - Duration: 6:09.

today I'm gonna show you guys how you can make money using a platform called

steamit which utilizes cryptocurrency and it's actually very very easy for you

to use as a graphic designer and make some money so stay tuned as I explained

to you what steamit is how to use it and how to make money as a graphic

designer

steam it pays both the content creators when their work has invited as well as

the people who curate the best content on the website by uploading other

people's work this is possible because the steamit platform is built on top of

a new kind of digital currency it's kind of like Bitcoin which is another kind of

digital currency has been around for quite a long time which I'm sure you

know about everyday new units of this currency are created by the network and

distributed by its users who can exchange these currencies for actual

real money in USD the longer that someone has been on Steam it and the

more steam power they have the more money they will give to other people by

voting their work the accounts and steamer that have a huge influence on a

lot of USD or steam dollars onion as Wales the whale accounts are the ones

that you want to have attention from and here we're gonna give you a post the

most value when they're actually updated so for example I uploaded a video

tutorial on D tube which is connected to steam it so when you post a video in D

tube is going to be posted on your steam account as well automatically but my D

Tube video was not voted by several different people but one of eight in

particular was D tube itself and seeing as that account has a lot of steam power

behind it and that one of them gave me the equivalent of around eighty dollars

in Steam currency this figure is going to fluctuate daily because the steam

cryptocurrencies do actually change in value compared to USD as any other

currency does so as you can see here on the d2 bifacial account you actually

have voted my video they have 67,000 followers if we go and look at their

wallets you're going to see that steam power and steam dollars are really quite

high but not only that the account estimated value is in over two hundred

and seventy thousand dollars USD now this is a prime example of a world

account on steam it that can give you value on your posts every single post

that you make on Steam it will be open for uploads and edits for seven days

after the seven days are up you're going to be awarded a large percent of your

money earned on that post which i think is around 75%

and when you do earn the Steam dollars by creating content you have three

different choices you can convert the steam dollars into steam and sell them

immediately on the open market for real money essentially cashing out

the second choice is you can hold on to the steam dollars which keeps the money

in the network and pays you 10% interest and the third option is you can exchange

your steam dollars for steam power if you want to invest in the future of the

currency and reap the biggest rewards this is the way to do it but let's look

at posting on Steam itself you don't have to post videos you can post imagery

or graphic design work when you get started you're gonna make very little of

a Sun money I'm a SAP have only been on Steam for two weeks and it takes you

engaging in the community commenting on Paris and adding people who you like and

the content you think is worthy steam is a community after all it's kind of like

a reddit but with money so the first way you can make money on steam as a graphic

designer is to post your work make sure you post engaging content that looks

professional and stands out so try not to simply post one image with a very

little text added to it what I do when I post my actual designs is I tend to post

a huge long image around four to five thousand pixels and height I'll add my

design process and captions as I go for the thumbnail make sure it's the first

thing attached to your post you can add five tags and the list of tags can be

found on the home page of steam it there are limited tile choices but have a look

through and find five relevant tags to your posts the second way to make money

on Steam as a graphic designer is an awesome awesome thing if you

search around your steamer on Google you can actually find accounts to have a lot

of steam power behind them that hold graphic design competitions I entered my

first competition last Saturday and the results are we gonna be given on Tuesday

the awards are often esteemed currency which of course you can cash out into

Bitcoin and then USD after it's all been said and done

there's quite a little bit of legwork to do to sign up to these contests but you

just need to read the bio and adhere to the regulations plus is free to do you

can see the contest here on page now so there was today's tutorial on how to use

steam as a graphic designer let me know what you guys thought to

this video write down the comment section below

and of course you did enjoy today's content drop a like and also share on

social media so the people can see it to steam it can be kind of complex and a

bit confusing when you get started but trust me paying some attention and

give it some time and you will see some rewards quite quickly if you know how to

use it like I said I've just been using it for two weeks and they've already

seen a substantial growth on my user base there and also money if you have

any questions or queries drop them down in the comment section below and also I

placed some links down there too for you to further your education and your

knowledge on how to use steaming subscribe to cetera graphics for weekly

graph design content and tuning tomorrow when I have the second episode of

typography Tuesday we're bringing you guys a video or tutorial that is based

around typography but anyway guys until next time design your future today peace

you

How To Use Each Social Media Platform and Social Media Marketing 101 in the Smart Home Industry - Duration: 31:11.

How To Use Each Social Media Platform I've known as long as you but I come from long I mean I don't mean go

probably 15 years so I was in distribution I worked for rep companies

I've known Dave for probably 12 or 15 years I quit my job in November I didn't

know I was quitting I expected them to say hey no come out for dinner and

drinks let's work this out and they said no that's okay see you later so I will

see that's still to be said so November 4th they opened the tech reps and I want

to market as well as distribute or represent product I think there's a big

gap in the market when it comes to distribution representing and also gap

in your market so so a lot of people wonder what I'm doing they can't figure

it out and basically I'm just marketing for you guys and not just shoving

product on your throat and calling you at the end of the month and saying we

have to hit your rewards points we have to hit your goals and stuff like that I

want to be on the front lines with you if you have any projects you're working

on let's go live call me a problem on this unbelievable project can we go to

Instagram and go live and we'll talk and I'll walk you through instead of you

know a lot of homes on us so I'm able to do that for you I love going up to

projects with Steve he just left he'll come out and film the project give you

guys value back like that and promoted out on your social media platforms so

I'm not here to be an internet guru I'm here to help you guys figure out how you

can be more successful and use the Internet to your advantage right so I'm

gonna do my best to get through this class hopefully I'll provide you guys

value and then you guys can call me up we could work together we could run some

Facebook Ads a lot of it is what we call test

learn and adjust so you put a Facebook ad you test it you learn what was wrong

just it and then you go on from there alright so on the presentation the

overview why social media why marketing awareness social media how to social

media website and SEO we'll touch on it some email campaign if you guys want to

do that as well I did two years of business programming and build my

websites I started in 1998 with actually 92 edit and ER elects 1004 us older

folks and then it went over to web TV for a while and here we are in 2018 so

why social media obviously you want to drive customers to your website I think

the biggest mistake people are making today is they're pushing the boost

button on Facebook or they're putting up a website but there's no conversion

there's got to be an immediate conversion for the end user because we

all are because an impulse mccall which is okay each platform obviously it's a

great way to promote content give real customer insights we're gonna get

feedback you're going to be able to learn from that feedback and you're

going to go out there and do it again again test learn adjust increases brand

trust and integrity in the 70s and 80s it was Macy's Sears all those big

companies and they put remember the first Herman sports store came in like

look at the size of the store like they have to have money they have to be a

really big company today I believe that that's done with how many people follow

you on Instagram how many tweener problems do you have

how many likes how many people are engaging with you it seems the first

thing somebody says I'm on Instagram you like followers do they have it it's

giving us credibility so I think that's changed a lot and now those companies

like Toys R Us what happened to them a business going down so they didn't

they didn't convert on the internet they were actually using Amazon to sell their

stuff in the beginning helps manage your reputation

it helps keeps customers engaged which always leads to more sales any questions

over 70% of Americans on social media it used to be NBC ABC CBS FOX C and then

all those good TV channels that would get our attention

they'd sell the stuff through the commercials and now it's Facebook

Instagram Twitter YouTube and those social media platforms where everybody

is social medias deployment of the new word of mouth everything you do is down

on social media it's the word of mouth you have a really nice project you give

a really nice experience in that image or on that video someone's going to

share it someone's gonna like it someone gonna talk about it

when's the last time you watch the commercials sure Gary Vee you know we

all watch TV when you fast-forward right through the commercial we're watching a

lot of TV sports event the first thing we do is look at our email looking at

social media again while that commercial is playing market the year we live I

don't believe in paper it's you know when you put out a paper and you spent

money for that and you can't retract it you don't know who looked at it you

can't adjust it and once it's out there it's out that you spent the money at

least on Facebook you throw five bucks on an end you could always pull back two

days later and say you know what I'm gonna change the context I'm gonna

change the image it's always been in that you can make manipulative after you

put it out there Walmart didn't spend ten billion it's over ten billion

dollars that they they paid for a jet and a couple of other ecommerce sites

and those that money spent was not to help you guys sell more smart home

automation equipment Amazon home services now in the arena so again

instead of sitting here complaining about Amazon or typing away in Amazon

anything negative I always like to go to the positive I always like to see how

can we as smaller companies help ourselves

smart Belle's smart pension all that stuff is coming it's going to be an

incredible credit world website business cards with 90 so I have business cards

I'll hand them out but really my phone is right there you have your phone you

want to do business let's just swap numbers there's no reason for me to take

a business card from you if you want to do visits let me give you my number now

or I'll take your number and we can work that way I think the websites becoming a

little more static because people are spending money on Adwords

to get them to the website but then there's no conversion again and it's

like doing the crazy dance me and Jay Jose thought about doing the crazy dance

on social media you're able to reach out to a lot more people than waiting for

them to come to your website or search those magical keywords that they're

gonna find you on that Google website is anybody running Google Adwords

how many people have website websites right the website and getting traffic to

it or no so this is what it's gonna look like in five years Google I need a TV

and Google is gonna spit out ABC ad will be here tomorrow so what I'm telling you

is I would concentrate more on the voice on Alexa and try to figure out how to

get into those algorithms because in the five years you know when the iPhone

first came out there was only a few apps and then you had a hundred apps and you

had a thousand after the people who have had the hundred apps got all the

attention cuz it wasn't surfing through endless

apps right so you're right here with Alexa now it's the land grab get a voice

skill figure out how you can provide value to your customer and of course

broadcast that skill out there Alexa I need the following pretty a TV install

your audible ship from DSG tomorrow Thanks

it's gonna work guaranteed all right how many people on Facebook Facebook is

everybody on Facebook Instagram so you guys are all familiar so this is the way

I broke it down Facebook's like a public dinner party twitter is like a cocktail

party a blog is like a public or technical diary TV channels for

everything on YouTube LinkedIn is a trade show corporate conference and

photo album you get the rest of it that's where the magic happens what's

next and how can we get on there early again the arbitrage of being one of the

first out there that might not be a lot of audience or a lot of people but those

people that are on there gonna pay more attention to is there's not a lot going

on how many hours a day is your future clients spend consume any social media

anybody want to take a guess Shannon how many hours a day you spent

on social media for hours you being conservative nine hours no I know yeah I

mean my daughter she has a TV in her room she's always on the phone right put

the TV on you guys experienced that at home if you have kids like be able to

put the TV on there just in their phone you watch TV is just in your phone

sold a Playstation so this is where we jump into the platforms I like Instagram

the best 800 million active users I think 80% of that is outside the US so

for you guys concentrating in a more New York area it's a little bit more

difficult Instagram stories is at the top what's

the main reason for these platforms for a long Zuckerberg or what's the main

reason why do we have these platforms what are they running that's money they

want to make money how do they make money by keeping you on that platform so

the content you put out is going to be favored more if it's good because you're

drawing attention to that and you're keeping that other individual on the

platform so the main purpose is to put out good content so Facebook favors you

and you keep people on the platform good so you have Instagram stories they

disappear within one day within 24 hours you can post that up there that's gone

you could run a poll ask them if you know I put up a picture of a movie

theater and I'll say who would Netflix and chill in here yes or no you're

getting feedback again seeing who's interested in your content and its

really doing polls yeah

absolutely you know hacking culture trying to get into their brain yeah I

like the polls story highlights is similar to stories

but you can keep it on your profile and in this market smartphone market I

probably have three or four of them one would be a home automation system if you

do Crestron the control for the other one might be a TV brand or TVs do we all

know but and just have these short little videos on that profile so people

when they visit your profile they can use them to click corner live videos I

love me and they've been doing a lot of live videos at night on Facebook it

brings attention and we've watched those audience numbers grow from one or two to

five to 15 and the more you do with the numbers will grow as long as new content

is interesting and we have a lot of fun ourselves I mean you watch two or three

hundred people view it over 24 hours and hopefully getting some value out of it

and again I always say the more content you and I create the more successful

we're going to be because Amazon is out there doing belts and shoes Lowe's is

doing lawn mowers and weed whackers and we're all competing in the same stream

so of all ten of us of whatever's in this room all put stuff on social media

about the smart home it would bring more awareness to our market and hopefully

more awareness to you tag other Instagram Instagram oh this is important

go live with Florence there's a guy is technically TV on Instagram he's one of

my favorite instagramers because a lot of people post something like this and

you're not you're not going to make me pick up the phone and call you for a

smart woman when you have just beams and wires Hanna

there's no interested in there's no grab to it if you look at the bottom picture

now it's a little more exciting and enticing like that's really beautiful so

what technically TV does I think that stands to grab handle he takes pictures

of his clients after the work was done with a big smile on their face I wanted

to get him to do videos for you guys to do videos

your clients even in distribution when somebody comes in and they're constantly

buying product get a video with them just hey you mind if I do a video

whatever he's buying because you keep seeing them buy that he obviously

believes in the product and dealers sell other dealers reps and distributors it's

difficult for us to get the information to dealers but you guys if we can get

videos of dealers saying this is a really the product I don't have a lot of

problems with it I think that's the way to go when you're in distribution so

this works both ways using that live with using those videos guts please in

the reading so I'm in the public relations business for the manufacturers

and it's very beneficial when on putting some sort of a case study out there or

unique study that quotes a dealer whether it's a testimony or an

endorsement from a dealer to the uniqueness of that particular solution

or the application because we know in manufacturing that an endorsement from

another dealer will resonate with other dealers anybody has anything to say

please that's how I'm gonna learn and that's how we're gonna learn I throw

myself up from the room so going live with clients is an awesome way to get

attention and again it gives you confidence but it gives it

validation credibility what I'm looking for that was the word credibility he's

got to be you know yes absolutely yeah well you want to pick and choose the

people you can go live with the threat you know definitely I'll give you all

the credibility stand there and go go for it for direct messaging is cold you

could probably direct message 100 people won't get an answer but it's the--it's a

chance of them answering whether it's a celebrity or somebody that can endorse

you I'm gonna go into hashtags now deeply it's important you got who's on

Instagram your Instagram Instagram or on Instagram when you hashtag us and you

start to hashtag something on Instagram it's gonna automatically try and finish

it right you have an order for our hashtag fill I guess you could say and

it tells you how many people use that hashtag and your goal when you hashtag

is to get an audience is to bring exposure to that post so you know when

you go to hashtags it gives you a recent column and it gives you a latest column

a recent and a popular top top column top pictures and recently what you want

to do is you want to find your sweet spot of hashtags to get in the top and

consistently be in the top because that's what people don't notice you like

your picture and of course if you have a good content they're gonna follow along

a little better a good ego sure I'm gonna get you on Instagram so what I'm

saying is when you start to type out that hashtag it's gonna say six million

times right so as soon as you use that six million the hashtag that's been used

six million times it's gonna drop fast you're gonna drop really fast because

everybody's using that hashtag and that image drops fast you don't get a lot of

exposure or is if you find a hashtag with 200 it's gonna stay up at the top

longer but a lot more people aren't going to see it so when you start

hashtag I don't the tech reps if we hashtag and we use a

hashtag that has between 20 and 60 thousand users we're gonna stay in the

top if I go to 100 150 I'm losing I'm gonna be in the recent and I'm gonna

drop out of nowhere so as you guys hashtag I would mix it up a little bit I

would go between two hundred five hundred a thousand ten thousand and see

we'll get you to the top and then continue that way it'll grow as your

account grows if that makes sense right because you just want to keep that in

the top the hashtag all right Instagram will have benefits beyond let's say for

example Facebook or or LinkedIn or Twitter free degraders

as far as where my history is this custom integration so I know the product

and all a lot of the people I know the system you know it's just my experience

on a general level it's just knowing that Instagram has 30% more engagement

than Facebook so I've literally done tasks where I'll put the same picture up

on Facebook and Instagram and my Instagram will definitely get a lot more

attention than Facebook that's huge yes huge and what we're doing is we want

attention but Facebook will get into it has other

benefits as far as demographics posting longer posts I like to thing Instagram

is a magazine it's my magazine for my company

so as you're flipping through those pictures literally like a magazine so

Facebook is more like a dinner party thing

I have it linked but I also said I post separately on my Facebook the Instagram

always goes to the Facebook and then I linked it to Twitter they're all linked

but it's still separate things going on and I'm not asking everybody to hop on

all these platforms today doing it for a while I would choose one platform

probably Instagram and start there and you get to learn hashtag new youth

another platform after three or four months you know have the page for

Facebook page getting the bleed over from the

Instagram but then every once in a while posting something individually on

Facebook to change it up there's a lot about followers are on both platforms

and see the same material I put up so links do not work in Instagram captions

you probably know that you can't link out of Instagram so you have to put it

in your profile a lot of times in the beginning days when I had a video up I

would put the link to the newest video up in my profile now I just have it on

my website and when you go to the website all those videos of that from

the YouTube me so this is my opinions make sure you post a related to your

brand I respect my brand which is the tech

reps I look at as a separate entity I have to guard it and I I'm not the tech

reps the tech rep is its own so what I'm doing something on the tech reps I

respected I don't put my family pictures down and put my barbecues it's really

because the people that I want to engage with our expecting technology that I'm

expecting in pictures of you know my family life I have a separate page for

that and I understand some people think the other way that's fun I'm just

telling you how I think some people will put their feather pictures up saying hey

this is me and my company it's a small company I like comfortable whatever you

guys decide I just like it to keep it professional

run giveaways promotions engagement my one of my biggest pet peeves on the

Internet is people don't engage big manufacturers they stand on these

platforms with their arms crossed they have 1.5 million or 40,000

followers and then following two hundred people as we move forward into social

media land I don't think I think that's why I'm a seasoned seasonal as other

companies business as well is because John started

freaking his old t-shirts this guy started making his own hats and they

started engaging individually with people and you want that people want to

feel connected if I feel disconnected from a manufacturer that sells speakers

and somebody grabs my attention from another speaker manufacturer and they're

liking my posts and they're following me that's where I'm going you know I'm

saying that's why I'm out here with you guys today I want to engage with you one

with these social media platforms and provide value if that makes sense yeah

you put questions in the comments to help people engage more Instagram

influencers is pretty cool I think it starts at 20,000 followers when you see

somebody around 20,000 followers that's on something specific whether it's a

vacation photography page it's very like the tech reps like DSG it's a very

specific driven page and when we get 20,000 followers people would probably

engage with us they listen would you sell this product and I post me page so

I approached an architect page that had 1.5 million followers and I wanted to

post a picture of mine for the tech reps to gain traction and they said yes well

absolutely posted I had a really good smile for a second they said okay it's

two hundred and fifty dollars an hour so for me to post my picture on their

Instagram it was two hundred and fifty dollars an hour I didn't do it but

that's the way Instagram is it's marketing and want that money so then

that's when I clicked off and said I'm gonna be like Shannon I'm gonna get on

Instagram and I'm gonna try to be an influencer and the long-term in five

years I want those twenty thirty forty thousand followers so that my

manufacturers can come to me and say hey listen would you post us up there

absolutely this is what it's gonna cost you so you're building a business inside

of the business right and I think when you go to sell your business even if

everybody says all Rob you know Instagram is going to go off in three to

four years that's great I can't wait for it because I'm gonna be on the next

platform and all the people I haven't followers on Instagram I'm gonna

remember say hey Rob's on this new whatever and

poles on there and Chris and everybody else's so don't be afraid that this is

going to crash or sink because your brand is out there you have the exposure

to go on to the next platform all right Facebook two billion monthly active

users Facebook Ads you could boost them but the value when you boost it isn't in

just clicking the boost now is anybody wrote a Facebook ad nobody all right

good I caught you before you lost a lot of

money so Facebook guys you got the little boost button I'm sure you guys

all saw it you can go into demographics I'm running one right now and rumps in

New Jersey so you you can pick anything out I mean you could tell us what age

you want to be how much money they may be here what their gross debt with

everything so I ran it you have to so in order for you to see this ad it's a it's

for high-end movie theaters it's a picture of grandparents holding a

grandchild we're trying to entice the grandparents to come back in to the

movie theater and have their grandkids and maybe the grandkids will stay a

little more if they have a movie deal so you have to be a grandparent you have to

make over 300 thousand a year but you have to be liquid over 2 million liquid

so the reason obviously we want to do movie theaters maybe a 30 year old or

even 18 euro can afford one of these but we're demographic an older crowd because

if you ever watch Shannon on her Instagram she's like this right where a

60 year old is gonna go a little bit more they're gonna slow it down so when

you do demographics you want to think about the way they react on these social

media platforms so again high worth value the grandparents that

kids and the slower-moving that they're gonna read that in

how am i doing you have value all right

create and advertise events Facebook's out of an event which I like to use

meetup this is pretty cool so meetup was cool we put a meet-up in the last moment

we did SEOs house we had three people and it's just bringing more people

obviously you guys are dealing with the public you might want to use Dave's

showroom here and have a meet-up and let them here so let's let them check out

the movie theater I tell the guys for raver is if you have a high-end client

that you qualified they don't have a home theater and a lot of the installers

need to tell your installers your deal is this when you send an installer out

of the field have the installer note what is on the wall is there a poster of

kiss is there Elton John is it some movie and you bring that back to the

owner of the company and then you come to me and say Rob the guy who loves

Rocky okay fine on this date bring him up to the movie theater with five of his

friends will give them wings and beer and we'll play rocky and we're giving

the disc at the end of the day if it's the Yankees Opening Day

throw some Yankee shirts on the back of the chairs have them come to the movie

theater we have a local restaurant supporting us or works with them as well

it's usually local people coming into the movie theater take advantage of them

have conversations create Facebook videos Facebook live we talked about an

Instagram live me and David usually on 9 10 o'clock at with Jay Jay get with the

guys on business milestones in 10 business Facebook payments is really

cool the to get the sale you want the least

friction as possible so when you're selling something they have to click

here they have to click that divot when you see a picture it's literally gonna

be a mark on there we just buy that a moment you know so if you have a picture

of a living room you could put a so no sound bar so no subwoofer a logitech

remote Lutron casita on the wall and each one

of those spots they could just pick and buy it right there from the image I

picked this image out as well because it provides value to different groups of

people number one other technicians are gonna

love this the remotes on the back of the TV it's not cluttering up the drawer

they know where the remotes are and for the homeowner they're gonna look at that

and say wow that's a really cool idea I wonder what else we're strepa

renovations can do for me right so it gives you a lot this other one the good

night from my friend Jen when people are going through this stream as soon as you

seen advertisement it's it's that's a little I got to get out of this but when

you see that it's a theme from Facebook so why not say good night Alexa or did

you tell Alexa good night so you actually welcome that in the ad

before they realized it was a head right because it's only on Facebook that I've

only seen that theme on Facebook Twitter is one of my favorites it's not what I

use all the time but it's just like one of those places anything can happen

328 monthly active users on that tweet up there I got 90 thousand impressions

1,400 lights and 266 retweets that's just to show you what can happen at a

tweet 90,000 people saw that it's not somewhere where I would post it I always

run with the hashtag of trending hashtag it's more of a counterpunch to engage I

use trending hashtags so when you go onto Twitter it'll tell you what

hashtags are trending sometimes I'll take every one of those hashtags

and put it into a one tweet and you'll get about a thousand impressions so

you're watching TV and that a lot of people watch TV shows and they're

commenting on these TV shows and I'll say something like if you're not if you

don't have solos you're not listening through walk walking dead or something

like that's something that encouraged Oscars on Superbowl was also met some

clips of each play and posted that they got a lot of impressions again just

hacking culture there's an ad in the am by Chris Neto of Barco is an awesome

tweeting group we all get in there when you wake up in the morning it's the

first thing I do is go into a be in the a.m. I absolutely love it there's a you

know this I don't know how many people but there's a lot Chris will ask us

questions and we all talk about the things in the industry whatever Chris's

and it bleeds into other things Chris thanks for setting that up it's a really

cool group AV and the am interactive influence you can grab anybody on

Twitter the same as Instagram and create lists so you're not going through your

whole Twitter stream you can create lists of your favorite people to watch

this piece YouTube's 1 billion monthly users it's the second largest search

engine behind Google I put up my first video March 26 last year and right now

we have over 72,000 views and they had no idea where that video was gonna lead

to it led to me being here with you guys and really paying attention to while

YouTube so when you do the title anything I post whether it's on Facebook

Instagram or YouTube it takes a while there's a 20 minutes to it to almost an

hour sometimes thinking about what hashtags and what image of you is what

am I gonna talk about you want to do that for the title of YouTube you want

to say what is the best remote control you want to use keywords in that title

too many people just putting the weird stuff in there like it's an MA Jake's

Pro whatever you are see people are going to go into Google and search and

makes promise they're probably a technician look for information you have

a lot better chance if you say what's what is or how to do those work on you

to fill out the description as much as you can so if I was doing a post on a

remote control would say what is the best remote control for a smart home

solution at home automation keywords all filled up the description I would go to

that remote controls website I would take down the context and I'd put it in

the description put links in the description whether it's your social

media or your website and all that good stuff

then using cards and end annotation is able to link out of the video to go and

buy a sale get on to your website or other social media platforms when I do

my keywords in the bottom there's a section I don't just put Bartle I break

every word down first so it's smart kind of a homecoming smart home comma I'm

using a bumper in front of the video when you put up a video it's gonna be

about a remote control you can call control for and say listen I need a six

second video start your video for the six second video in between and then

continue your video it provides value to your manufacturers strengthening that

relationship again showing them that you're supporting the brand by putting

them directly in the video custom cover for the video that's a lot more

attractive than just a picture of her and the closed caption works you have to

set the closed caption on each video but again as YouTube Scrolls through all the

information of that video if you have closed captions I believe it will look

at those closed captions again with the words that you spoke with no controls

set over like that LinkedIn you should use business-to-business I

think it's hard to get the homeowners in LinkedIn but if you wanted to get an

architect or interior designer it's a great place to do that I wouldn't jump

in and say hey I'm the best control Ford dealer it's a little annoying I like to

go in and just start a conversation Pinterest is interesting anymore percent

of the female we know that the female makes 80% of the decisions in the home

don't say anything you got a long time so Pinterest is a great place and

snapchat I stay off of because it's just not my demographic 18 to 30 girls is

where snapchat so that's it fellas that's it it was a value enough I think

it's great use of integration yeah you know it's the $64,000 question right now

on how to use social media to move your company forward no matter what you do

How to Create a Great Political Campaign Website - Duration: 7:01.

What makes a good website?

This is the definition of a bad one.

Grainy pictures that don't flatter you, convoluted copy that is difficult to read

or comprehend, with a homepage that looks the same day by day and week by week.

We've all seen those.

That kind of website will not serve you well.

What is a good website?

I'll start with the basics.

Use photographs that flatter you.

If need to need to hire a professional photographer to get them, do it.

You'll need good pictures for your printed material anyway.

The home page should be sticky.

Meaning it should be updated frequently with news articles, information on campaign events,

fundraisers or commentary so that it has a unique look every time a viewer visits.

In fact, most of my clients put the feeds from their facebook, twitter and instagram

accounts right on their home page.

Content that constantly changes makes your website more interesting, and encourages your

visitors to join the discussion.

The banner at the top of the home page should clearly display your slogan, and links to

the social media that you are using.

The main menu items on your navigation panel should also include the following:

*An about page, where voters learn something about you.

*An issue page, where voters learn about your positions on important issues.

*A News page, which contains your press releases, good photographs, news, endorsements and pictures

from the campaign trail.

*A You tube page, where you post video messages about yourself, your positions and events

on the campaign trail.

*A contact page, where people can find you.

A little about the content of each section.

The about page is your biography.

I always suggest it be done it two forms.

A chronological biography, easy for the press to read so that they know

where you were raised, the schools you attended, the jobs you held, the charitable causes you

have been involved with and the honors you have received.

Your biography is not a place to exaggerate what you have done.

If you embellish or inflate, or claim degrees you have not earned, it will come back to

haunt you, so make sure your biography is dead on accurate before you post it.

In addition, I usually suggest that my clients post their story— what we called your signature

story in Module 2… a story about some seminal event in your life that changed who you are

and what you became…

…a story that helps voters understand why you view the world the way you do… one that

helps the reader understand your deeply held beliefs and moral principles.

Putting your signature story on the about page lets votes know what make

you tick, and it makes you more interesting.

The issues page is where you let people know where you stand on issues of our time, and

matters that may be of concern to them.

How many and what issues do you cover?

That depends on what you are running for, and the major concerns of the electorate in

your jurisdiction.

A few examples.

Spending.

Debt.

Jobs.

Immigration.

Zoning and Development.

Budget Deficits.

Entitlements.

Taxes.

The Tax Code.

Wages.

Schools.

Climate change.

Healthcare.

Campaign Finance.

Ethics reform.

Religious Freedom.

Crime.

Education standards.

Campaign Contributions.

Gay Rights.

Privacy.

Terrorism.

You don't need to do address all of them, but you will need to clearly state your position

on those that matter to your jurisdiction 2-3 short paragraphs on each, along with pictures

or video embedded in the copy to make this section of your website visually interesting.

The news page is a great place to put endorsements, press releases, videos and pictures of you

on the campaign trail, pictures of press conferences, speeches, flattering photographs, factory

tours, town hall meetings and just about anything else you are doing on the campaign trail.

Doing that tells viewers that you are an active and passionate candidate.

It lets your contributors know that you are doing what you need to do to win the election,

and it gives volunteers a chance to be seen and given credit for the work they

are doing.

It also gives news reporters a better sense of who you are, your energy

and passion for the job.

Your You Tube Channel should be embedded on a page of your website for a number of reasons:

1.

Video is a great way to communicate your story, your issue positions, speeches,

press conferences and campaign activities.

In fact, many voters much prefer video to words pasted on a screen.

2.

When you are on camera, voters see your body language, your facial expressions,

your passion and energy.

3.

When voters see your videos, or you talking, they better remember you and what you said.

You Tube videos are easy to do, inexpensive, and an entertaining way to share your message

with both reporters and voters.

The contact page is just that.

It lets voters know headquarters phone number and physical address, and how to email a question

or comment.

You'll note that I did not suggest a special tab for the contribution page or volunteer

page.

That is because those items should be on every page of your website, along with your phone

number and social media icons.

Why?

Suppose a voter reads something on the issues page that compels them to contribute to your

campaign, or share what they just saw or read.

You want to make that as easy as possible.

Don't make them hunt for the tab to give you money, or some other section of the website

to volunteer.

Make sure that is always easily found by putting it on every page.

A key function of your website is to capture the email addresses of people willing to leave

them.

Give something away if you have to…a subscription to your newsletter, an insider's guide to

the campaign, a map with your name on it, an autographed window poster.

The email addresses that you accumulate are gold.

It's a central repository of people who have already expressed an interest in you.

—a list you can use to ask people for money, for help passing out literature, going door

to door, or attending a rally.

There is an excellent tool called google analytics that does a marvelous job of telling you who

is visiting your website, how much time they spend on each page, and how they found you.

You cannot monitor what you don't measure.

And if you wake up one day to find that your website traffic skyrocketed you won't know

why or from where those visitors came unless you have the google analytics tool installed.

Facebook now also makes it very easy to insert a code on each page of your website so that

you can retarget those who have visited your website with ads they will see on their facebook

newsfeed.

You can also insert a google ad words code on every page.

It will capture information about your website visitors which you can use to reach them with

internet advertising.

You can learn more about these tools on google.

Make sure you put your website address on every handout, flyer, in every email you send,

every sign, every mail piece, in every tv or radio ad.

Don't know how to do a website?

Easy.

Go to google.

Type in 'how to build my own website,' and you'll find plenty of tools, software

and companies that make it easy and inexpensive.
