May warns EU will not offer "better Brexit deal" if agreement rejected by UK parliament - Duration: 0:41.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has warned the British people they should NOT expect
a "better deal" from the European Union if lawmakers reject her Brexit agreement.
Speaking on a BBC phone-in show Friday,... she said a parliamentary vote against the
agreement in December will only result in more "division and uncertainty."
May heads to Brussels on Saturday for more talks with European Commission President Jean-Claude
Juncker.
EU leaders will meet the next day to sign off on the withdrawal agreement and the political
declaration despite some "unresolved" issues between the UK and Spain over Gibraltar.

Chelsea news: Maurizo Sarri think Chelsea have a major problem that will help Liverpool and Man City - Duration: 4:12.
Maurizo Sarri fears Chelsea have a mental block which will stop them being title challengers this season
The Blues have a remarkable hold over Tottenham after winning their last four meetings at Wembley, and yet the manager has nagging doubts about his players
Sarri warned Chelsea must stop being such slow starters, having struggled to get going in their last three games, and the Italian fears they will catch a cold unless they get out of the blocks quickly
The Blues boss said: "It's a mental problem. In the last three matches, we had problems with our approach
Not only that, because we had some problems also at the beginning of the second half
So, we have to be careful. We have to be focused on this problem."It's not a physical problem because, in the last part of the match, we ran a lot
It's a mental problem."It's not a tactical problem.Because in the first 15 minutes of the last three matches, the problem was the opponents were more aggressive, more determined than us
So, we have to approach the match in a different way, with application and determination
Chelsea did overcome BATE Borisov and Crystal Palace in two of those three games but were held by Everton and two dropped points cost them in the title race
The Blues are unbeaten so far this season but are four points behind leaders Manchester City and Sarri insists they are already out of reach
At the moment, in the Premier League there is a team above the others. This team is Manchester City
Then there is a very good team, Liverpool. For sure, they will be in the first four positions," he said
Then there are four or five teams who will have to fight for the Champions League places: Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, United, maybe somebody else
Usually in a season there is a surprise. No (Chelsea cannot challenge Manchester City), at the moment
For me, City are stronger than us.We have to work very hard just to try to recover the gap
But, at the moment, the gap is still there."We can recover, but I don't think that, in the first season, we will be able to recover 30 points

Chelsea latest news: Why The Blues will NOT match Liverpool and Man City in Tottenham clash - Owen - Duration: 2:32.
The Liverpool hero believes the Blues will be held by Spurs and take a hit in their Premier League title challenge
Both Manchester City and the Reds have won at Wembley this season, but Owen thinks it will be a different story for Chelsea
Maurizio Sarri has impressed since taking over from Antonio Conte as his side sit third, just four points being leaders City
But Owen feels Chelsea could lose more ground this weekend. He told BetVictor: "None of Spurs' last 16 PL games has finished in a draw but I think it will be honours even when Chelsea visit Wembley in, arguably, the game of the weekend
Chelsea's title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have already won at Wembley this season, but I feel the hosts will get a draw in what promises to be a feisty London derby
Paul Merson agrees with Owen and believes the match will end in a draw. He doesn't think Tottenham have enough to defeat Chelsea though and thinks Sarri will have to be happy with a point
Merson told Sky Sports: "I do not see Chelsea losing, so I am going for a draw, which would be a good result for them
I mean, let's be honest, Chelsea are not going to win the league this season, top four is the main thing
And if they come second or third in the manager's first season with a team that were nowhere near last year, I think that would be a really good start
Tottenham, meanwhile, have set themselves a really high standard and they are probably better off than they have been all season
But these players have to keep doing this week in week out, they do not have the squad
Chelsea travel to Tottenham for the 5.30pm kick-off tomorrow. After that the Blues take on PAOK Salonika at Stamford Bridge in the Europa League on Thursday

Jose Mourinho confident Man United will make up ground on rivals - Duration: 5:01.
Jose Mourinho believes he can propel Manchester United into the top four of the Premier League before the end of the year
United are seven points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham but have eight more league games to play in 2018 – including five at Old Trafford
Mourinho, who faces Crystal Palace at home on Saturday, insists United can catch up, saying: 'I know it's a big gap but I also know until the end of December if I'm not wrong we have eight Premier League matches to play
Season at a glance Live tables Fixtures Scores Premier League Premier League Championship League One League Two Scottish Premiership Scottish Div 1 Scottish Div 2 Scottish Div 3 Ligue 1 Serie A La Liga Bundesliga More tables More fixtures More scores 'Eight Premier League matches, we are speaking about 24 points for us to fight for, and the other ones in the top four to fight for too, but I believe we are going to be there
'Mourinho confirmed that he will have a fully-fit squad to face Palace after Romelu Lukaku (hamstring), Paul Pogba (thigh), Anthony Martial (adductor muscle) and Marouane Fellaini pulled out of international games during the recent break
Luke Shaw will be United's only absentee through suspension.'Martial stayed with us, he didn't go to the (France) national team,' added Mourinho
'The national team was aware of his problems and with permission he stayed, he worked really hard on that pre-injury because problems in the muscles around the pubis, they are a dangerous situation and he was in a pre-injury situation
'He worked really hard. He's ready for Saturday and he plays. Is he ready to play three in a row in the same week? I don't know, but the most important match is the next
'Fellaini also stayed, no (Belgium) national team, they also let him stay in spite of playing 90 minutes against Manchester City
He needed to stay and prepare himself better after such an injury that he had before, so Marouane is also good
'The boys in the national teams, (Marcus) Rashford came with a little problem but is ready, Lukaku is ready — I would say ready with a little bit of a risk, but ready — and Paul we knew with this break he would recover from that small muscular injury
'So we don't have players I can say are out of the game. We have a huge 23 group to choose from
'Mourinho was reluctant to be drawn further on comments regarding his players' character that appeared on Friday morning
But he urged his team to continue their promising form that brought three straight wins before a defeat in the Manchester derby
'Of course we need points, results, and we need performances because we also like good performances on top of points and good results,' said Mourinho
'It's up to us. We were playing well and getting good results until the end of the last period
'Of course, we lost the last match but I don't consider it at all a bad performance and two weeks with a small group of players, waiting for news, good news, bad news, in national teams; no time to work together but we were in a good moment, playing well, so why not stay the same? 'To improve and to get good results, because we need now to get points to jump into the position we are in the championship and next week with the Champions League we need points against Young Boys
'The supporters cannot do more than what they are doing. We went through a difficult period of results and the supporters were fantastic
They supported the team and in some matches even push the team to different levels than we were at the time
We cannot ask more from them. It's for us to give them and make them to go to an even better level

What will NASA's InSight do on Mars? - Duration: 8:36.
You may have heard that the NASA InSight mission will be touching down on Mars on the 26th
November.
But why all the hype for this mission?
What makes it different from the Curiosity rover that's already on Mars right now?
Well, as it happens, there are a lot of differences!
I'm Alex McColgan, and you're watching Astrum, and together we will go through what
makes the InSight mission so special.
If you are pretty up to date with your NASA missions, you may recognise the design of
InSight from somewhere… that is because this lander is based off the Phoenix lander
design, the NASA mission that landed near the north pole of Mars in 2008.
It's about a meter, or 4ft high, and 6m, or 20ft long.
The reason NASA reused the design was to keep R&D costs down, as well as hopefully meaning
it has a better chance of successfully landing seeing as NASA have done it once before.
You see, Mars doesn't have the best success rate for space agencies.
Roughly half the missions destined to go to Mars either didn't leave the ground, or
failed once they arrived!
So, by reusing a design that worked, scientists are hoping for a successful landing on Monday.
So how do they expect this spacecraft to land?
Firstly, it will enter the atmosphere 125km up or 77mi at almost 20,000kmph, or 12,000mph.
This entry will generate a lot of heat, roughly 15,000c or 27,000f, which the heat shield
will absorb.
Once the lander has slowed down enough, the heatshield will pop of and a supersonic parachute
will deploy, further slowing InSight down.
Yes, Mars does have an atmosphere, although it is very thin compared to Earth standards.
With the speed InSight is travelling though, this parachute still makes a big difference,
although it wouldn't be enough by itself to stop the lander smashing into the planet.
Unlike the Mars rovers which just had giant air bags to bounce on landing, this spacecraft
is using its own rockets to land.
So, InSight's legs will spring into position, ready for landing,
once the parachute has slowed it down enough, that too will pop off,
leaving just the lander itself.
It will use its onboard rockets to carefully reach to surface.
This whole process will be over the course of about 7 minutes.
Upon impact with the surface, the rocket will have kicked up a lot of dust, which is not
very good for solar panels.
So, InSight will wait 16 mins before deploying its solar array to let dust settle.
This is what it looks like sped up in the testing environment before it launched.
On Mars, these panels will generate around 300-600 watts under normal conditions.
However, of course dust in atmosphere does affect power generation, like clouds would
on Earth, so this can be different every day.
Looking around at where they think InSight will land, you'll notice it is really flat.
This is on purpose; a flat landing area means a better chance of landing correctly.
While this is going on, two cube sats have been following InSight to Mars, called Marco
A and B. Their mission is to relay realtime information back to Earth about whether the
landing was successful or not, and if the solar cells have deployed.
The Marco mission is a technology demonstration mission, so it doesn't have scientific instruments,
but rather it carries different technologies.
These satellites are really small, only the size of a briefcase.
They are the first time cubesats have been sent into deep space, and no-one was sure
how well they would do, but so far they have been totally operational.
Marco will listen to UHF frequencies from InSight with the antenna on the bottom of
the spacecraft, and will transmit that data back to Earth using this bigger antenna.
The big antenna operates like a satellite dish on earth, except they designed it to
be flat so it can be space efficient.
Amazingly, these satellites can only generate 17 watts of power, yet are still able to receive
signals from the surface of Mars and transmit millions of kilometres back to Earth.
Should they not work though, all is not lost for InSight.
It can also communicate with some of the other orbits already at Mars, like the Mars Reconnaissance
Orbiter.
The only difference is that the MRO can't relay information back in real time.
After performing their mission, the Marco cubesats will fly by Mars, unable to slow down enough to
enter orbit around Mars, and instead will forever drift around the Sun.
The Marco team will continue to communicate with the cubesats to see how long they last
past this mission.
So, assuming everything goes well, what will InSight be doing on Mars?
Although based on the same design as the Phoenix lander, its onboard scientific instruments
are quite different.
Insight's main goals are to look for clues about the formation of Mars, and compare it
to what we know about Earth, so we can better understand the formation of terrestrial planets
generally.
The way scientists do this is through a seismometer, an instrument which will be able to detect
the vibrations caused by Marsquakes and meteor impacts.
You see, vibrations from these events travel through the mantle of the planet, and by detecting
these vibrations, that will enable us to know the size of the core, the physical characteristics
of the mantle, and the thickness of the crust on Mars.
The seismometer on Insight will actually be placed carefully with a robotic arm directly
onto the surface, and a wind shield will be placed directly over it, as the wind would
impact this instrument greatly while it is trying to detect the slightest of vibrations.
The other instrument is a highly sensitive thermometer, which will take readings from
the surface, all the way down to 4.5m or 15ft by using a little hammer to bury the instrument
down.
By extrapolating the temperatures as it goes down, scientists can predict where the mantle
must start and how hot it must be near the centre of the planet.
With a combination of the data InSight generates, scientists will better understand how the
interior of planets impact the surface environment, as it is not fully understood yet.
We can't do this from only Earth, as Earth's interior system has evolved a lot, whereas
Mars never really got started.
Earth has active plate tectonics and a magnetic field, but Mars not.
By taking measurements of the interior of Mars, it is almost like looking back in time
a few billion years on Earth before Earth got kicked started.
So!
Fingers crossed everything goes well on Monday.
I wish the teams involved with this project the very best of luck, as they have already
put several years' worth of work into this project and it hasn't even landed
yet.
Let's see what InSight discovers for us!
