How To Follow a LinkedIn Member - Duration: 2:06.

hi this is Brenda Meller with Meller marketing. Today I bring you a

LinkedIn update regarding following individuals on LinkedIn. Following's a

bit different than connecting with someone on LinkedIn. When you connect

with them you do automatically follow their updates, but let's say there's a

case where you want to connect to someone and you don't know if they're

going to accept that invitation and you're not sure how often they're on LinkedIn.

They may take a month or so to go in and accept that invitation. Here's

the technique that you can do. Let's say for example I'm going to click on who's

viewed my profile. I do have the LinkedIn premium so I can see if there's

any second-level connections that have viewed my profile and maybe I have not sent

them an invitation, they have not sent one to me. Let's look at Justin Kaminsky.

I'm gonna right click to open link in new window and then when I land on Jeff's

profile I do see there's a more button here. I'm going to go ahead and click on

that and then you see underneath more you can go ahead and click on "FOLLOW."

I'm going to be following Jeff's updates so anytime he were to post a status

update, share an article, even if we're not directly connected yet, I still have

the ability to see what Jeff has been posting. On the flip side of that, I

also have the ability to see individuals who may be following my profile and

using my LinkedIn premium here, I see that there's a few other individuals who

viewed my profile profile recently Sarah McNulty is one of those individuals and

I noticed recently that Sarah had also sent me an invitation to connect.

One additional thing I noticed is in my notifications Sarah followed me. So now

Sarah has higher visibility for me. I'm looking through and paying attention to

those updates I see that she's spent some time reviewing my profile. She's

also sent me an invitation, and now she's followed me. So she has some genuine

interest in in connecting with me on LinkedIn. Hopefully this tip was

Follow My Lead: Havana - My Big Dance Performance Challenge (Episode 3) - Duration: 8:19.

So the next challenge: can I dance with the professional dance company who performs here?

I'm so excited. I'm at Mil Ocho right now.

Today I came by and talked to the director.

He said I could practice with

dancers in the group and when I'm ready..

if I'm ready...finger crossed

I could join the company and perform with them.

My goal is just to be able to get one song

one piece of choreography

and if I can do that that would be a big accomplishment.

So we'll see how it goes!

About 20 minutes away from my first rehearsal,

I'm just really excited because I think this is going to be fun

I have no idea what to expect

Well I just finished up my first rehearsal

And then I went for a little dip in a swimming pool nearby.

Just kidding. This is sweat.

I'm drenched in sweat.

It's really, really hard and about 45 minutes into it.

I was like, I'm ready to die I could leave right now.

So I've been rehearsing with my teacher Dayne

in her apartment.

And when I come to her place

I ring the "Cuban doorbell"

And it sounds a little bit like this.

"Dayne!"

I have the key

and she threw it down in this bag

and now I unlock the door to go up.

I had some moments in rehearsal where I just almost wanted to cry

because I almost felt like

really embarrassed by how hard this is for me.

I feel like I'm going backwards

I'm supposed to be going forwards

Practicing at home should help me just like clean up

and perfect everything

Yeah, I'm just really frustrated with myself

Like, there's no one else to blame

I can't get this dance

It shouldn't be this hard.

I just feel like my teacher is gonna be disappointed in me

Like, "She's obviously not good enough."

But I have too much pride to quit so...

The big challenge I'm having right now

is that it's a salsa dance

But really we're doing a lot of "son" or "contra tiempo"

which means you're not "on the one"

"Son, dos, tres, son"

Even though I am you know moving slower

because I'm not a professional dancer.

And it takes a lot to be 41

and decide that you're going to learn

to perform with professional dancers

who are in their twenties, you know?

So I want to kind of give myself credit for

the fact that this is a big challenge

And it would be pretty incredible

if I could pick it up as quick as a 25 year old professional dancer

who's Cuban.

So in that respect I'm doing pretty well

and we'll see how the rest of the rehearsals go

So this is the last rehearsal before

we perform tonight.

We started rehearsing on stage

and it was horrible

If I wasn't so scared I would probably just cry now

but I can't cry

because I'm too terrified.

My teacher keeps telling me I need to just

have a huge smile on my face the whole time

and that's all people

will be looking at.

But, I'll know if I mess up

And the director will definitely know if I mess up.

Sometimes we mess up

we get confused on the movement

and we are professional dancers.

Maybe she makes a mistake

But let's see how she can fix it.

It's really easy for me to get caught up in pressuring myself, being perfect

And that kind of starts to drain away the joy

And at the end of the day

I'm in Havana and I'm dancing at Mil Ocho

and I'm dancing with a company that I've been admiring for months

So I want to really be focusing on the positive

And feeling excited and not worrying so much if everything's perfect

and just having fun

and loving that I have this opportunity

no matter how it goes at the end of the night

I have no idea what I look like because

the hot box we were getting changed in has no mirror

and I've never seen this dress before.

I hope it looks good

Yay!

That went so much better than I expected.

I didn't mess up, I didn't lose the beat

I got the "contra tiempo" and "tiempo".

I don't know if I did it big enough, but I felt really happy and I was having fun

And I didn't feel distracted by anything.

and I just feel really happy about it

very happy
