Youtube daily is it Feb 1 2018

Earlier this month,  Prince William shaved his head .

And we're being generous when we say most observers are not big fans of the Royal Hunk's

new look.

As always, however, it's a very different story when the topic turns to William's wife

and  her  most recent appearance.

Having just entered her third trimester, Kate Middleton kicked off a four-day tour of Sweden

and Norway this week.

And she did so with a style!

As you can see above and below, Middleton can't hide her growing baby bump any longer,

not that she'd ever want to do so, of course.

This isn't Kylie Jenner we're talking about here.

Kate's pregnancy isn't a secret nor is it anything to be ashamed of.

Happy to share her miraculous news and expecting state with an adoring public, Middleton joined

William on the ice in Stockholm on Tuesday to take part on the sport of bandy hockey.

Yes, this is a real sport. You can Google it.

Middleton even walked on to the ice to knock some pucks into a goal, but there was never

any concern about the beauty falling and injuring herself.

Organizers of the event laid out an actual red carpet on which she could stand while

she played.

Insiders say Kate and Williams shared some hot chocolate with school children at the

gathering and were then given their own bandy hockey jerseys.

Later on in the day, Middleton (who may or may not be expecting twins ) sat for a lunch

at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

It was hosted by King Carl KVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia and other attendees included

Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel.

At one point, all three couples came together for a rare, giant royal photo op in one of

the beautiful palace drawing rooms.

We don't have the picture for you here, but Middleton was wearing the same green dress

you see above for the snapshot.

Kate and William will be welcoming their third child in April.

The exact due date has not yet been confirmed.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, of course, are already parents to a son named George

and a daughter named Charlotte; both are very adorable and precious.

According to a Royal spokesman, Middleton plans on only skipping one event while in

Norway in order to rest.

Other than that, she will be an active participant alongside William, proving once again what

we've known for ages.

This really is Kate Middleton's world. She's the most beloved female on the planet.

The rest of us can only bow down in admiration.

BREAKING NEWS Out Of BRONX, NY…. THEY JUST FOUND IT! THIS IS REALLY BAD!- BreakingNews24 - Duration: 23:17.

BREAKING NEWS Out Of BRONX, NY….

THEY JUST FOUND IT!

THIS IS REALLY BAD!

This is a sick story about how some scumbags live and the details are totally disgusting.

Apparently two Bronx parents, both which have respectable professions have been raising

their children in a rat infested, feces-stained apartment covered in heaps of garbage.

First of all I would never have a wife that is a filthy slob and secondly, there are people

that are professionals that clean and maintain homes.

I have a crew of house cleaners come on a monthly basis and it costs $145 although I

give them $200 because I'm a nice guy and I know it helps them out a lot.

The The New York Post has more:

"You had to do everything you could to not throw up," a police source said of the putrid

Kingsbridge Avenue apartment where the couple's 5-year-old son was found alone amongst the

filth Friday.

The crying tot was rescued by a horrified FedEx deliveryman who came by to get a signature

on a package.

Once he got a glimpse of the repulsive pad where Charlotte Lewis, 48, and husband Wilfred

Lewis, 59, lived, he ran to get the nearest authorities, police sources said.

The mom, a nurse at Montefiore Medical Center, was arrested at work, while the dad, an adjunct

professor at TCI College of Technology and an MTA worker, surrendered to the 50th Precinct

station house, sources said.

The family's other children — two girls, 12 and 13, and a 15-year-old deaf boy — were

in school at the time.

"I won't leave him alone anymore," the boy's father tried to reassure cops after

he was arrested for leaving the boy unsupervised, according to police sources.

He also claimed his son was "self-sufficient."

The parents were charged with endangering the welfare of a child and failure to exercise

control of a minor.

The mother's Facebook profile picture paints a wildly different story, showing her smiling

with her kids in front of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree with a border that reads,

"Live.

Laugh.

Love."

The children appear happy, well fed and clean.

One neighbor, however, had noticed the fetid conditions before.

"A couple of times they would leave the door open and I would always tell my boyfriend

'Oh that house is kind of disgusting,'" Deanna Strom, 27, told The Post.

Among the rubble, police found hundreds of black flies, maggots and bedbugs and a completely

empty refrigerator, police sources said.

The family had also been contacted by the Administration for Children's Services multiple

times, sources said.

How and why would these people live like this?

Absolutely disgusting.

How is a Roth IRA Different from a Traditional IRA? - Duration: 1:36.

The question I often get when I meet with clients is, "what's the difference between

a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA?"

Well, let's discuss the similarities and the differences about the IRA's.

The similarities are, they're retirement accounts, specified under the IRS tax code.

That allows you to put money in and get some sort of special tax treatment as the money grows.

With a Roth IRA, you don't take a tax deduction when you put money in - it's an after tax contribution.

Then that money will grow, tax free, as well as the distributions, the withdrawals from

the accounts, will be completely tax free at withdrawal.

The other nice thing about a Roth IRA is that there is no required minimum distribution,

much like there is with a traditional IRA at age 70 and a half.

Now, with the traditional IRA, a little bit different, is it's a tax deduction when

you put the money in.

So you get to write it off on your taxes.

Then that money will grow tax deferred, meaning that when you start to withdraw the money,

you will pay ordinary income taxes on those withdrawals.

The other thing is, at age 70 and a half, you'll be required to start pulling some money

out, if there is still money in that account.

Those are the chief differences between the Roth IRA and the traditional IRA.

If you have any more questions, please visit our Web site at PureFinancial.com,

and we'd be happy to help you.

Is is okay to be selfish? [Morning Motivation] - Duration: 2:40.

Morning Motivation

Sometimes you have to be selfish to be selfless. -Edward Albert

Welcome back, Rebels!

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Tony

And I have a dream of one day becoming a hero like the ones you see on TV and movies

and this video is about motivating you so you can go after your dreams

whatever they might be if you find that kind of thing you find interesting,

you want to click on subscribe because I have a lot more where this came from

I think we're going to talk today about something that seems a little counter intuitive

and that is, "You need to be selfish."

I know for some of you out there, those of you like me,

that seems to go against the core of your being, right now.

But this is the way it is you are going to need to learn to be selfish

Not a lot, just a little bit of course you might be asking

"Why on earth do I need to be selfish?"

There are tons of reason why you need to be selfish

Chief among them is, "You need to be there, so that you can be

there for other people."

This concept is the entire reason they tell you to

put your own oxygen mask on, before assisting others.

If you pass out, tap out, or die you're no good to anybody

So you need to take care of yourself and that means being a little selfish

from time to time

Now I don't know what that is going to mean for you

I don't know if that is going to means

you're going to take an extra long bath you're gonna go for a nice walk

you're gonna go out drinking with your buddies or you could have a night out dancing

Whatever it is You need to take time to let you be you

and let yourself recuperate I'd say ninety eight percent of the time

it is ok to be that hero, to be that rebel, the one that does everything for everybody else

but that other two percent of the time

you're gonna need to take for yourself

in fact there is a riddle that embodies this entire concept

"Who takes care of the caregiver?"

the answer is "The Caregiver"

and if you are one of those care giving people

you have to take time to take care of yourself as well

it is ok to be selfish every once and a while

Trust me, it won't kill you

but not doing it just might

Stick with me rebels We can do this

as always there are links in the description

to stuff I talked about, my social media, and past videos

I love likes and comments but the share shows that you care

What Is Strategy? Why It's More Than a To-Do List - Duration: 2:20.

As the VP of marketing, I had it all figured out.

I could execute on any marketing plan sales

handed to me -- no matter how complex.

So when my CEO called me into his office to

I was ready to get started on the next big thing.

He outlined two complex plans, and asked,

"Can you pull off both?"

I reassured him, "Yeah, of course we can do that!"

He paused for long, agonizing minute, and then the yelling began:

"Executing both of these strategies would

put us out of business.

You don't have a clue about what the purpose

of marketing is because all you're doing

is executing a series of tasks like they're like a big to-do list."

"You're dangerous as the head of marketing."

While the case can be made that my CEO was a jerk, he did challenge me:

I was doing a lot of marketing "things",

but why was I doing them?

The truth is … most companies don't have a strategy.

They view strategy as a set of performance metrics and goals.

But strategy doesn't just define what you do ...

it's as much about what you don't do.

According to Richard Rumelt,

a strategy requires three key elements:

First: A diagnosis that defines the challenge.

It's a realistic understanding of the current state of the business and market.

Second: A guiding policy for dealing with the challenge.

A policy directs action while also ruling out other approaches.

And third: It's a set of coherent actions to accomplish the policy.

This is how you overcome the complexity and

conflict that plagues most companies.

So, let's say an ecommerce company finds that its monthly sales are falling.

They decide to focus on improving the average cart price.

They make a plan to set a dollar threshold for free shipping

and add a related items module to product pages.

While simple, the example defines the problem,

clarifies direction, and outlines the key action.

Marketing's role is to help accomplish the strategy --

to come up with tactical executions and test hypotheses.

But the strategy is the north star --

it's the foundation for building a plan that is both focused and achievable.

Is Grammarly Worth It? - Duration: 8:44.

Grammarly Review, is it worth it?

We're gonna talk about it.

Hey guys, it's K-Ninja here,

and if you're into self publishing at all, in any way shape or form,

Be sure to subcribe to this channel.

because self publishing is all we talk about

We're going to get into Grammarly now.

Now I tried grammarly a few years back,

and it didn't work out so well for me.

Bassically, what happened was

I took one of my books, and I pasted the thing into Grammarly.

The whole book.

And

Gramamrly found some mistakes.

and this was after I had edited the book myself several times,

and Ihad a few proof readers look at it several times

and we were sure there were no mistakes, but Grammarly found some mistakes.

and then after checking Grammarly's mistkaes,

I realized that Grammarly was wrong!

Grammarly did not know proper grammer,

and Grammarly was showing mistakes.

in sentences that were grammatically correct.

so I've kind of been not so keen on Grammarly for quite a long time.

That's just been my expereience.

But uh, that was a few years ago and many years have passed and,

And you know, technology is advancing really quickly.

and softwares are, you know, updated every day.

So, you know, maybe Grammarly's changed.

Maybe it's different.

At the moment I like to utilize the cloud,

Everything's in the cloud now, hear Grammarly's in the cloud.

I wanna publish everything in the cloud.

I have a new book I wanna release today actually.

and I thought I would try and run it through Grammarly,

and see if Grammarly could find a mistake in it.

because I couldn't find a mistake.

but it's always good to get a second opinion on these things.

Anyway, I'm here at Grammaly dot com.

I wanna try it

and see here, you know, there's a little,

Chrome thing, and I'm in the Chrome browser.

And I like Chrome because it works well with the cloud.

it says here, add Grammarly extension to Chrome,

Grammarly help you write mistake free in

Gmail, Facebook, WordPress, Linkedin and anywhere else

you write on the Web.

Wow! So Grammarly's in the cloud as well.

I just hope that this time that Grammarly's grammar

is correct.

Anyway, let's install this puppy right now.

So I'm clicking on install now.

Add Grammarly for Chrome, it can

read and change all your data on the websites you visit

Oh great!

Display Notifications.

I'm not so keen on getting all these notifiations.

I already get so many as it is.

Okay, let's try it! Add extention.

Grammarly, oh what happened here?

It's opening a new tab, hmmm

Your installation is complete.

Get ready for a smarter Chrome experience.

Wow! It sounds good.

Okay, great.

Let's see what we got here.

It says check Grammarly now, and then there's a little Grammarly symbol in the upper right that appeared.

I wonder which I should click first, okay.

I'll click here.

Check a document now.

and it seems to be loading.

Okay and we're back to the Grammarly website.

I suppose I could just paste a document into the website.

But I wanna see how this puppy works with the cloud.

So I'm gonna go up here and click the little Grammarly icon in the upper right-hand corner of my screen here.

If you can see that, and I'm clicking away

Okay, Grammarly for Chrome.

You can't improve on perfection.

Naturally, Grammarly's browser extension is disabled.

while you use the Grammarly editor.

mmmhmmm, so what does that mean?

Now what happens if I click on My Grammarly?

Okay, it goes back to the same web page.

and what happens if I click on new document?

Okay, so it's basically like a book mark.

and it's basically brining me

to the same page that I could bookmark anyway.

So this little thing in the upper right-hand corner.

doesn't do so much

You know what, I'm just gonna open up Google Docs.

And go into my book, and then check it with Grammarly there.

So, I'm gonna,

Open up.

Google Docs

And uh

Hit that Grammarly button.

Before, uh oh.

What's it say there?

Uh oh!

Tha'ts really bad.

It says um "Grammarly For Chrome."

"Google Drive Not Supported"

We hope to support Google Drive Apps in the future.

but for now, please use your Grammarly Editor.

So, what it's basically telling me,

is um

it can't check anything I have in Google Docs

Which kind of defeats the point

of using Grammarly.

Because, I write all my books in Google docs

and that would just be so convenient if it could crawl a Google Doc

So basically it wants me to

copy my book

go to Grammarly's website

and then paste my book in there.

which is kind of a hassle.

It's not very cloud friendly if it doesn't support Google Docs.

So yeah, that ends this review.

But, it's not really a surprise that something like this would happen

Because Grammarly never quite worked for me.

It never worked in the past.

I didn't have such high expectations now.

True, I could take my document and copy it and

paste it in Grammarly's website.

But, I didn't want to do that, I was looking forward

To making the thing work on Chrome

and having the thing find mistakes in my document

in Google Docs without me having to do anyhing

right? Except just review the mistakes that it caught

in the past it has been wrong.

The fact that it doesn't work with Google Docs, it just kind of

turns me off.

So

What am I gonna say about grammarly?

I'm gonna say it's not really very cloud friendly.

if it doesn't work with Google Docs.

and that's the end of this review basically.

Am I gonna use Grammarly? No, I'm not.

Okay, so let's uninstall Grammarly right now

Let's get rid of it!

Let's get it out of here.

Uh, remove from Chrome.

Remove Grammarly from Chrome. Remove!

Why's it brining me back to Grammarly's site? What's going on?

Why are they just taking over my computer doing this?

Uh, let's see here, help us improve

Why did you uninstall Grammarly?

I don't want to create an account.

Slows down my computer.

Doesn't work in Google Docs.

They know what's up.

Well I've got to give them credit for that.

Etiher that or they get some many complaints about that, that they're

very well aware of the problem

I'll just let them know that.

We look forward to improving and to winning you back as a customer

Thank you.

Go figure.

Anyway,

So that's so much for Grammarly guys.

If you're into self publishing at all

Hit that subscribe button and hit the little bell so you get notificaiton

because that's all we talk about.

Self Publishing

And if you want some more advanced strategies.

Check out my course, the link is in the description.

Alright, gotta go now, K-Ninja Out!

>>Work on your lower back.

Go, 1, 2.

Excellent.

1, 2.

>>Wait, hold on.

>>Alright guys, so my fitness regime has been feeling a little bit stale lately, and now

my kids have been going to this really amazing guy for some MMA.

Why, in the world, don't I start training with the one and only Toni Abdo, Toni, come

on.

>>This guy, hold on, let me talk real quick about this guy.

This guy, what do you do again?

You were like one of the choreographers for Body Combat.

The Les Milles stuff.

This is the man in charge, like I used to do that kick.

>>She has one of the best kicks, yeah.

>>Squat.

Oh...he's so nice.

>>So this is something I'm going to be adding into my fitness regime from here on out.

I want to give you guys a little sneak peek of what I'm doing and then also, I'm going

to let Toni give you guys some moves that you can take home with you to get started

yourself.

>>Get right into it.

>>Put your leg like back and just really like we're going to stand like a warrior, you know,

make sure that you're not like this, you're going to be down side, and you really feel

comfortable.

Now your arms are going to be...

>>Most of my weight on my left?

>>Yes, your arms, elbows are going to be tucked in the whole time.

So you really have to be this way.

There you go.

We can start out with the left jab, when you hit me a left jab, I want you to turn with

your shoulder and little bit slightly with your left heel, and then slightly and turn.

>>Wait, hold on.

>>From here, watch, you're going to turn that way.

So if I'm here, there you go so you can reach me.

Again, there you go.

Again, don't hit my face.

Again, okay, so let me bring the pad.

>>I'm not a very good puncher.

>>Just feel like when you jab, you jab, there you go.

You jab and turn.

This way.

There you go.

Nice.

2.

3.

Cross right now.

>>Kay.

>>Once you get a cross, you're gonna start from your heel, so you're gonna start 1, you

turn your heel, shoulders forward, and you're gonna hit a cross.

>>Kay >>Bring it back.

Hand is up here all the time just to always cover your face.

>>Heel, shoulder.

>>Excellent.

There you go.

Nice.

Watch your balance, don't move all your body, you're gonna have to twist.

>>What if I don't reach you?

>>You'll reach, don't worry.

Go.

Excellent.

Twist more.

Go.

Lift that heel.

Go.

Excellent.

Go.

Exhale.

Now hit me a jab and across.

The rhythm has to be boom boom, 1, 2, left right.

1, 2.

Oh...I'm feeling those.

>>Are you?

>>Yep!

1, 2.

I can see you're breathing too, yeah?

>>Yeah.

So is that good?

>>Yeah, yeah, excellent!

Roundhouse kick, like we just like last time, you're really gonna open the gate, bring your

knee up, yep, I'm gonna start with you bring your knee up, see how my knee is?

>>Yep!

>>And really open wide.

>>Kay.

>>And bring it back.

Go.

Excellent.

Yeah.

So jab, across, roundhouse.

1, 2, 3.

Go.

Excellent!

Woo!

Nice!

Again.

>>Go, 1, 2, 3.

Go.

Nice.

>>I'm breathing!

My cardio needs help! >>Alright, this is good!

>>High intensity.

>>So, you're gonna do a jab, and a cross, you're gonna open that gate, and you're gonna

hit me with one kick, and you're gonna bring it back, and roundhouse kick how you're gonna

bring it back.

There you go.

>>Kay.

>>1, 2.

Go.

>>Shoot.

I almost did it.

>>Bring it up, go.

Yeah, focus, so see how you went all wobbly?

>>Yeah.

>>So when you focus, let's see if I'm here, I'm focusing here, I'm gonna really land,

watch, I'm gonna land here, do you see?

Instead of like >>Is that too high?

>>No, yeah, too high, so you really have to feel like you really hitting that tree.

Nice, excellent.

Woah.

Go.

Bring it back, go.

Excellent.

Go.

Nice, bring it back.

Go.

Now you hear that, see?

>>That work?

>>Yeah perfect.

Again.

Let's do it again.

Again.

>>Know what I love about this?

Self-defense, like we're teaching people to be strong and to be able to defend themselves.

>>Yeah.

>>Alright.

>>Okay, ready?

>>Hit, go.

>>Crap.

>>Yep.

Nice, go.

1, 2.

Go.

Excellent, there you go.

Go.

Nice, ready, 1, 2.

Go.

Go.

Excellent.

One more time.

Nice.

1, 2.

Elbow.

Go.

Nice.

Go.

Nice.

Excellent.

Good job.

>>Thank you!

>>Awesome!

>>Can you do a body combat sequence for them?

>>Yeah!

>>Something they can do at home >>So something that you guys can do at home

would be left leg forward, right leg back, keep your elbows in, look forward, you have

to protect your nose and your chin all the time.

You're gonna go with the left jab, you're going to go with a cross, you're gonna bring

it back, you're gonna step, front kick, and back.

So you're gonna go left jab, cross, you're gonna make a little step, front kick, and

step back.

Again, 1, 2, 3, and back.

>>Nice!

There you go!

I love that, such a great, great workout, the best part about it is we are learning

how to defend ourselves, this is the exact reason why Chris and I have our kids in it,

so anyway, Toni, we gotta have you back for more.

Football is in trouble. Can science save it? - Duration: 5:18.

Growing up, I used to have those "head across" tackles.

I used to get my bell rung.

I was asking, "Coach, what happened?"

This is Scott Lawyer.

He started playing football when he was 10 years old,

and continued into college.

When he says "getting your bell rung,"

he means getting a concussion.

It's a term you hear all of the time in football because, well,

concussions are kind of common.

At its worst, the latest studies show repeated brain trauma causes a sometimes-fatal condition

called chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE.

The research has some prominent neurologists saying

that there's no safe way to play tackle football.

And it's forced the NFL to look for ways to make

the most popular sport in the US safer.

You don't have to go too far to know somebody that is

concerned about their kid playing football,

because of this safety issue, and this concussion and CTE issue.

Karen Bryant is the CEO of Atavus, where Scott works.

The company wants to change how football players tackle.

Atavus is part of a boutique industry that's emerged in recent years,

of companies aiming to improve the sport.

We believe that the long-term impact,

the biggest impact, is to focus on changing behavior,

changing behavior of coaches, changing the approach of coaches,

and ultimately changing the way players tackle,

and the way they're taught to tackle.

Here's how it works.

Notice how Scott pushes off his right foot

and strikes with his right shoulder.

He uses the same foot and shoulder to maintain momentum,

while keeping his head out of play.

This is what it looks like in a game,

in a commercial the NFL made, calling the tackle "the future of football."

'There's no head involved in these tackles at all.'

'We think it's safer.'

For comparison, this is what a normal, non-Atavus tackle looks like.

You grow up with the style of head-across,

it's hard to get that out of your mind.

But that muscle memory from Atavus, and the strategic

and the systematic approach we take really helps players have that muscle memory,

really feel it come second nature to them.

A handful of major colleges, and one pro team, have adopted this brand of tackling.

But Atavus has only been around since 2013.

And they're still gathering data to test whether their tackle is safer.

Even if it is, sometimes players will still get hit in the head.

That's something other startups, like this company, Vicis, are trying to address.

Vicis got a grant from the NFL to try to build a better helmet.

Our focus is just building a helmet

that reduces impact forces.

Traditional helmets have a hard plastic shell

and some sort of padding on the inside.

Our helmet actually deforms, or yields upon impact,

like a car bumper would,

and in doing so, it slows impact forces before they can reach the head.

Depending on the location, we can reduce those impact forces by 40% or so.

More than 20 college teams, and at least a dozen NFL teams,

will have players wearing the zero-one in 2018.

But, like Atavus, their work is so new

that they don't have the data to show whether their helmets prevent CTE.

We don't make any claims about our helmets' ability to reduce concussion risk or CTE risk.

What we do do, is we say, "Here's the data:

Our helmet reduces impact forces more effectively than other helmets."

These startups are a step in the right direction,

but most experts say improving tackles and helmets alone

won't eliminate concussions from the game.

When you're hit here, your neck starts moving.

And it whips the brain around.

And that's what I believe, and

I think a lot of other people believe,

causes concussions.

So if you want to eliminate concussions,

you need to do something

about the neck movement.

Dr. Jam Ghajar is the director of Stanford University's

Concussion and Brain Performance Center,

and a professor of neurosurgery.

He says a lot of research suggests that the sudden rotation of the skull

is what most damages the brain,

even if the head is protected.

Ghajar says solving this would make a lot of sports safer. Not just football.

It'll be a very small device linking the back of the neck.

And it'll prevent this this certain kind of motion that's producing concussions.

And that'll be the cure.

And then you can do all these sports, even martial arts and boxing,

and you'll have a dramatic decrease in concussions,

better brain health, better performance.

It's all that, but we have to we have to understand what the problem is first.

He believes we're working towards a future where playing America's favorite sport

won't mean putting your brain at risk.

But we've still got a long way to go.

Something has to change. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody—

layperson, hardcore football fan—that wouldn't acknowledge that something has to give.

So, whether the word drastic is appropriate or not, don't know.

Can't comment on, sort of, how drastic that change might be.

But something has to change.

CONSCIOUSNESS WHERE DOES IT COME FROM AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT OUR PHYSICAL MATERIAL

WORLD (PODCAST)

BY ARJUN WALIA

Consciousness.

What is it?

Where does it comes from?

And what type of connection does it have to physical-material reality?

These questions, and more, are what we explored in our most recent Podcast, hosted by CE founder

Joe Martino, when we sat down with neuroscientist Dr. Mario Beauregard

We dived into non-material science, the importance and validity behind it, and how were currently

living in a second scientific revolution.

Many studies in the fields of quantum physics as well as neuroscience have shown whats

now, scientifically speaking, undeniable that consciousness has a direct effect on our physical

material world.

Whether it be meditators trying to influence quantum systems at a distance, examples of

telepathy, remote viewing, or the fact that various individuals within several different

countries governments (under the watch of their Department of Defence) have had special

abilities.

You can read more about that and see some actual examples in the article linked below,

as well as similar topics that are discussed in the podcast.

On a side note, did you know that as far back as 1999, statistics professor Jessica Utts

at UC Irvine, published a paper showing that parapsychological experiments have produced

much stronger results than those showing a daily dose of aspirin helping to prevent heart

attacks.

Utts also showed that these results are much stronger than the research behind various

drugs like antiplatelets, for example.

A New Film Mario Is Featured In That Dives Deeper Into It

Hundreds of scientists are gathering to emphasize this (that matter is not the only reality),

and are not really getting the attention they deserve.

All of our academia and real-world applications come from material science.

This is great, but its time to take the next leap.

How can we continue to ignore facts and results simply because they defy the belief systems

of so many people?

A group of internationally recognized scientists have come together to stress the fact that

matter (protons, electrons, photons, anything that has a mass) is not the only reality.

We wish to understand the nature of our reality, but how can we do so if we are continually

examining only physical systems?

What about the role of non-physical systems such as consciousness, or their interaction

with physical systems (matter)?

Here is a list of points were co-authored by: Dr. Gary Schwartz, professor of psychology,

medicine, neurology, psychiatry, and surgery at the University of Arizona, Mario Beauregard,

PhD, from the University of Arizona, and Lisa Miller, PhD, from Columbia University.

It was presented at an international summit on post-materialist science, spirituality,

and society.

Expanding Reality, A Ground Breaking Trilogy Film Series

You can purchase the film here.

Expanding Reality is about the emerging postmaterialist paradigm and the next great

scientific revolution.

Why is it important?

Because this paradigm has far-reaching implications.

For instance, it re-enchants the world and profoundly alters the vision we have of ourselves,

giving us back our dignity and power as human beings.

The postmaterialist paradigm also fosters positive values such as compassion, respect,

care, love, and peace, because it makes us realize that the boundaries between self and

others are permeable.

In doing so, this paradigm promotes an awareness of the deep interconnection between ourselves

and Nature at large.

In that sense, the model of reality associated with the postmaterialist paradigm may help

humanity to create a sustainable civilization and to blossom. Mario Beauregard, PhD,

This Is The Healthiest Diet!

It kills Treats Depression, Migraines And Autism!

Mounting research suggests dietary ketosis is the answer to a long list of diseases,

starting with obesity.

A ketogenic diet plan is one that shifts your body's metabolic engine from burning carbohydrates

to burning fats.

A ketogenic diet requires that 50 to 70 percent of your food intake to come from beneficial

fats, such as coconut oil, grass-pastured butter, natural pastured eggs, avocado, and

raw nuts such as pecans and macadamia nuts.

The carbs are very minimal, so your body burns fat for energy.

That means that there is little sugar in your system blocking the body from using fat in

favour of burning sugar.

During this state, the body produces ketones, made from fats processed in the liver.

" The end goal of an effectively maintained keto diet is to force your body into this

metabolic state.

We don't do this through starvation of calories, however through starvation of carbs.

Our bodies are very adaptive to what you take into it– when you overload it with fats

and take away carbohydrates, it will start to burn ketones as the primary energy source".

HEALTH BENITITS OF A KETOGENIC DIET

PROMOTES WEIGHT-LOSS

Cutting carbs is one of the most basic and most effective methods to lose weight.

On a ketogenic diet, dietary carbs are kept very low, protein is moderate and fat usage

is increased, carefully encouraging our body to remember how to count on fat as a main

fuel and to produce ketones from stored body fat.

FIGHTS CANCER

Cancer cells love sugar!

Sugar essentially feeds tumours and encourages cancer development.

This is why a diet that removes sugar and other carbohydrates can be efficient in preventing

or fighting cancer.

The regular cells found in our bodies are able to use fat for energy, however cancer

cells cannot metabolically shift to use fat.

One review published in Redox Biology highlighted a few of them, indicating promising results

for colon, stomach, and prostate cancers.

In this paper, Dr. Eugene Fine of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine claimed that

ketone bodies stop cancers by changing the availability of energy processes in cancer

cells.

A preliminary paper from Dr. Fine's team was released and the summary of results states

that " Preliminary data show that an insulin-inhibiting diet is safe and practical in selected patients

with advanced cancer.

The degree of ketosis, however not calorie deficit or weight-loss, correlated with stable

disease or partial remission."

PROTECTS YOUR BRAIN

The low-carb, high-fat method of eating has actually also been connected to aiding with

other neurological disorders.

Research published in Behavioral Pharmacology found ketogenic diets may be effective for

reducing symptoms of Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

In one study, Parkinson's patients who followed a 4-to-1 ketogenic diet experienced, on average,

a 43 percent improvement in their symptoms after one month.

Studies also support the benefits of a ketegonic diet for autism.

According to one article, "Autism shares some features with epilepsy, and lots of people

with autism experience seizures related to the over-excitement of brain cells."

Research found that a bulk of autistic children showed improvement after following a cyclical

ketogenic diet for 6 months.

Why is Christianity acceptable? (part 1) - Duration: 3:35.

The worst person we can conceive of is Dracula.

That man was responsible for the suffering of an unimaginable amount of people.

Therefore, we consider Dracula an unacceptable person.

Dracula is absolutely evil.

He would torture people for as long as he possibly could.

If it would have been in his power, he would have made his enemies suffer for eternity.

If it was in his power, Dracula would have created hell.

And hell is what I want to talk about, today.

It's absolutely mandatory to believe in hell when believing in God.

And it is also mandatory to believe that hell is eternal.

To belief otherwise is called disbelief and it's unacceptable in our society.

You must believe that hell is a place of eternal torment.

Right?

Which is really awful, actually.

Infinite punishment for finite sins.

Not an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, but a completely disproportionate retribution.

You know what suffering is?

Being impaled by Dracula, is a good example of suffering.

But I want you to imagine a type of suffering that you are familiar with.

School.

Imagine being in school.

Remember how it was.

Go back to all the stress and fear that you had to suffer through.

And now imagine that that would have gone on for an eternity.

Imagine a school where there is suffering without relief.

School in itself already makes people suicidal.

And that's just fact, that's not just something I say because I really hate school,

okay.

It is a fact.

People want to end their existence because they literally cannot take it anymore.

They cannot take any more, even when there is relief.

But what if school was to be infinite.

An unending misery of history, physics, biology, literature and most of all blasphemous religious indoctrination.

How many more would not be able to take it?

How many more people would commit suicide in such an infinite school horror?

Do you reckon there would even be one person out there with the will to live?

I am afraid that there would be none.

But luckily, there is no such thing as infinite school.

Thank God there isn't.

But a huge number of people believe there is something even worse.

Hell.

There's either flames, or complete emptiness, depending on your denomination.

But either way, it is eternal.

And there is no relief.

And even no suicide.

So when you reach the point that you can't take it anymore, you still have an eternity more.

Most secular people agree that this is a bizarre concept.

But why isn't this despised?

Why is everyone so extremely respectful towards such a concept?

Dracula believed that his enemies deserved the torture that he gave them.

But we do not respect the views of Dracula.

We are abhorred by his actions.

We know from history that technically,

the people Dracula tortured were indeed morally questionable people.

But we condemn him still, because this retribution was disproportionate.

Those people did not deserve to be impaled.

So, I think you'all see where I'm going with this.

There are a lot of christians who have atheist friends.

But how can an atheist possibly befriend a christian?

How can they accept that a person they love,

believes that it is righteous for them to go through an infinite amount of suffering.

And not even because they're a bad person.

How can the atheist accept such a thing?

Why do they not hate their friend for believing and condoning such a horrid thing?

What in oblivion is making them so bloody tolerant of such blasphemous contentions?

Devoted: When Is It Okay To Judge? (John 8:7) - Duration: 2:01.

Yesterday, we started a conversation, about the difference between judging actions and judging the heart, we talked

About when it is appropriate to judge and i'd like to give you an example to demonstrate this further

Let's say you're starting up a business and an acquaintance, wants to partner with

you, the trouble

Is he's bankrupted for our businesses in the last

10 years he owes several people money and a few trusted friends have

Confided that he took advantage of them in business deals when you, ask him, about it he takes no responsibility

And places the blame on everyone else now if you're not supposed to judge does that mean you should take him at his word

Should, you ignore his track record, and trust that he's going to treat you differently than he's treated others

No, trust should, always be earned and we need to be discerning when looking at, someone's behavior at the same time

We can't assume to know, why people do what they do it would

Be wrong to call the man a shady, businessman or a snake because now we're attacking his character

We also can't, assume that he meant to take advantage or that he doesn't care about others because, we do not know

This, we don't know?

His motives and intentions all we know is his track record and wisdom says not to partner with him

Unless he earns himself a new track record

Can you think of an example in your, own, life, where you judge someone's heart with this example in mind would you now

Approach this situation differently

As you meditate on today's verse remember, god loves you, very much rest in this fact and know

That jesus came to give you, abundant, life, claim, this promise over yourself and tune in again for more of devoted

you

The Project Scope - THIS IS HOW WE DO IT - S01E02 - Duration: 13:06.

Hi everyone! My name is Gabrielle, and I make video games! And today

I'm going to talk about something very important when you start working on something new:

the Project Scope.

Before diving into this episode's subject, here's a quick update about Spectral Blend.

It's a puzzle-game I started working on a few weeks ago, and this video series is about its development.

These past two weeks. I mostly experimented new things with Unity.

I'm trying to wrap my head around new features, and how to program every part of this game the most efficiently possible.

I also added every gameplay elements I needed to create my puzzles!

I added the possibility to separate a secondary color into two primary colors.

I started to work on making different tiles with different effects. For now, there are just the black tile, the classic one,

and the white tile, on which you can't place anything.

I also added black and white in the game, even tho I'm still not quite sure how they could fit into puzzles.

Finally, I tweaked the visuals a little bit in order to distinguish which elements can't be moved.

They're now outlined in black, and this little thing makes the game way clearer.

I'm pretty confident on my ability to meet my end of February deadline, and at that moment,

I will have a first public demo I'll be able to share.

After that, I will focus my efforts on the artistic part in order to give the game an

identity, while improving and fixing the game mechanics.

But enough of rambling about moving circles and fighting with Unity, because today I want to talk about something really

Important when you start a new project:

its scope.

The project scope is basically its size

and what it needs to be completed. This is THE first thing to think about when you start a new project.

And it's also a good way to knowyour strengths and weaknesses, to improve yourself, and in the end, to create better games.

When you scope a project, what's important isn't what you want to do, but what you can do.

What does your resources, your skills, your time, your money, and your potential team, allow you to do?

Because having a dream project too big for us is easy.

Everybody does! Every person playing video games already had an idea for a game.

But is this idea doable? If so, what does it require?

Of course, maybe you want to create an RPG with branching stories, evolving AI, dynamic weather…

But can you do it?

Do you have the technical skills needed to create something like that?

Do you have some writing and design knowledge? If not, can you find people with the skills you lack of?

You need to ask yourself all these questions when you scope your project.

A common mistake from beginner game developers is to scope too large Way too large!

And it happens to everybody! It's something I did myself when I started making games.

The first game I tried to make was way too ambitious for me!

It was a mix between a typing game and a management sim, with a deep and non-linear story.

In the end… I wasn't even able to create a simple prototype!

I had some ideas, but nothing else!

So… What was my first game? What was the first project I was able to complete.

It was a little Flappy Bird clone, with a color-shift mechanic similar to Ikagura.

Yeah, I was already obsessed with colors at that time.

It's clearly not the greatest game ever made. It's not very complex. I didn't earn a single buck with it.

But… People liked it!

I even ended up with a nice ranking in the game jam I participated in!

What I'm trying to say is…

That we all have a dream project. We all have a game we absolutely want to make.

And it's probably something way too big to be made. So, instead of pursuing a chimaira…

Try to do... just a simple game. Do something! Create stuff! Because in the end,

Even if it doesn't look like what's in your wildest dreams, a little game will have more meaning than

a game that you only imagined.

DO IT!

I think there is a game that illustrates perfectly how a good project scope can result in great things.

It's a game born from constraints, circumstances,

and it ended up influencing both mainstream and indie games.

This game is called Gone Home.

Released in 2013,

Gone Home is the first game of the Fullbright Company, a studio created by ex-members of 2K Marin, which made Bioshock 2.

And the whole story of its creation is a lesson about how smart decisions made early in production are the key to successful projects.

At that time, The Fullbright Company was made of four people:

a game designer, a programmer, a 2D artist, and an environmental artist.

They were living off their savings, and even moved into the same house to reduce their costs.

When they knew they wanted to make a game together,

the first thing they did was to sit down and ask themselves what they could do with what they had.

They quickly excluded the possibility of having 3D characters:

they didn't have the knowledge and the ressources to do it with the time they had.

However, their latest project, which was the Bioshock 2's DLC Minerva's Den, taught them a lot about

first-person narrative games, to the point the team now considers this project as the pre-production phase of Gone Home.

For those who haven't played it, Gone Home is the story of a student going back home after a year abroad.

When she arrives, she finds an empty -and kinda messy- house, and you have to find out what happened.

It's a really touching story, but that's not the subject of this video,

so let's talk about why the design of Gone Home is so smart.

What's impressive is that the whole game has been designed around the team skills.

They conveyed a huge part of the narrative through the environment: the documents we can find, of course,

but also the way the house is setted up,

decorated, which objects can be found…

Telling stories through the environment is something called "Environmental Storytelling":

it's one of the hardest, but most effective, way to convey a story.

It takes a lot of subtlety, skills and iterations to work perfectly, and building a game around it is extremely risky.

But… That's the strength of The Fullbright Company:

they knew they lacked skills in a lot of areas,

but they also knew they excelled in environmental storytelling, especially when they work together.

So they decided to build a game around it, and finished it in less than a year and a half.

The rest is history:

Gone Home came out and became one of the most influential games of its generation,

and opened a door in which several talented

developers got in. It's because of it that games like Firewatch or What Remains of Edith Finch exists,

and it's the proof that scoping your project efficiently is the most important thing in the early stage of game development,

if not in all the development of your project.

Besides saving you time and money,

project scoping is a way to know your strengths and weaknesses, and to build your game around it.

In the end, what Fullbright Company did was just making a game according to their skills.

And it's the hardest part of the job, as it requires a lot self-critique and knowledge,

and it's something even game veterans struggle with.

So, what about Spectral Blend? How did I scope this project ?

The first thing I knew is that I wanted to make a game

I could show the development of,

so I had to make a gameplay-driven game. If I made a narrative-driven game in this configuration, I'd risk to

spoil the whole game while showing you its development.

And, at the beginning, I had an idea that I thought was a good fit for this project I

I wanted to make a tactical-RPG about high-schoolers killing each others, and condemned to live the same day again and again.

It would have been focused on tactical combat, but also on evolving relationships, in the same manner than Shadow of Mordor.

Because, even if everybody dies at the end of the day,

they would live this day again and again with all their memory intact.

They would remember everything: the acts of kindness, the betrayals, the despair…

It would have been a weird mix of XCOM, Shadow of Mordor and Undertale.

It would have been great, and I hope it'll be my next project!

But, in the end… I ditched it.

The thing is…

I wasn't totally sure I was able to make this game.

There were too many unkwown varaibles, and I think it was a little too big for what I can do right now.

So… I

started to think about what I could do instead. And what I couldn't.

First, I am making this game alone for now. I'll find a 2D artist and a sound-designer later,

but right now, I'm on my own.

So I immediately excluded every genres heavily focused on these parts. No rhythm-game, no visual-novel.

I didn't want a 3D game either.

I wasn't confident in my abilities to create a gameplay adapted to a three dimensional space.

So… I had to think of a gameplay-driven game in 2D I could and WANTED to make.

That's when I remembered this little concept I had.

A puzzle-game centered around blending colors!

I started scoping a project with this concept. Turns out… I had the resources to do it!

I already made 2D game, including puzzle-games,

so that's something I'm comfortable with, whether it's on a design or a technical level.

The biggest part of the project will be to add content and variety, because the very basis is actually…

Relatively quick to make.

I think having the core elements of the prototype will take me…

Maybe one more month.

After that, I'll start working on making the game good, but at that point, I'll already have something functional.

And it's something really important when you work with very limited resources,

because it means you can release your game

whenever you want! Of course, releasing it too soon would mean having an ugly and unpolished game,

but in some cases, it's enough!

And it's a configuration way easier to manage than working on a game that doesn't work properly

the month before its release.

It's something common in some genres. Games with a lot of different systems, like RPGs, are prone to this.

The reason is pretty simple:

creating two mechanics takes more than creating a single mechanic twice,

because you have to assemble them.

For example, if you have an economy system in your game, you have to make sure it doesn't break the combats.

If you cannot buy anything, your game will be too hard,

but if you can buy everything after a few hours, your game will be too easy.

You have to take the time to balance these systems together, in order to make the whole game works. And it's something incredibly time-consuming!

Having a single game system was mandatory for me, because I simply don't have the resources to work on something bigger.

And the idea I had fit this condition perfectly! Take a look at Zachtronics games: their mechanics are very pure,

but the level-design is deep and complex!

That's what I'm aiming for: a simple to play, but deep puzzle-game.

And I think that's something I can create with the resources I have!

Anyway, that's the end of this episode!

The irony is that I talked way more than expected, and I screwed up the scope of my video.

See you in two weeks
