what's going on guys it's Brian from BG meeting innovation and today I want to
bring you some great content if you're new to the channel
it's full of digital marketing tips ecommerce insights and really
step-by-step how-to content for any aspiring entrepreneur that wants to make
money online so if you're new to the channel go and hit that subscribe button
so you don't miss anything and with that being said we're just gonna jump right
in
alright guys today we're gonna talk about some brief but effective YouTube
thumbnail tips for 2018 now this is geared obviously toward the majority of
my content creators out there those of you that do YouTube but it's good
knowledge to have just across the board that you can basically implement across
platforms so if you maybe you make courses on udemy like I do this
definitely still works with thumbnails or pictures that are essentially gonna
you know inspire clicks or grab attention so first and foremost the
basis of all thumbnails and the number one tip that I see across the board this
is both anecdotal evidence that I put into action myself as well as things
that I've learned and heard from other bigger youtubers both personally you
know through email and messaging and conversing with them as well as watching
videos you know on YouTube as well so I think I just over use as well but will
just move on like it didn't happen but you'll see here that I've been kind of
looking for a branding thumbnail you want to brand your thumbnails first and
foremost that's tip number one so that when people are over you'll see here if
we just go to youtube well we'll go to YouTube and we'll look for a type of
let's just go to what would be good one we're going to think media because
that's one of the ones that I've you know been getting a lot of great advice
from this do don't think media gives a lot of great advice there's a bunch of
different platforms across the the board of not platforms sorry creators across
the board that give great advice but you'll just see if I went into this one
right here typically you'll start to notice
well actually this one's a good one too let's go to Tanner Fox he does a good
job of it too I think it's Tanner J Fox and I've been watching some of his
videos cuz he's also into Amazon FBA like I am he does private labeling
across the board with some other stuff and you'll see here that let's just say
if you look across the board when his thumbnails it's easy to recognize
because he uses the similar text similar colors and actually right here this dude
Danny Silva does a really good job with two so that might even be a better one
so I could continue to jump around with you this is still a house call that Dan
the Silva there it is he was one of the ones that I checked
out about a week ago that actually did it really really well so if you look
here at all his videos he has similar wall it's cartoonish a little bit it's
really really great because it's easy to recognize on the side of the chant of
YouTube so whether or not you're on mobile or you're on you know desktop
it's easy to recognize those videos so keeps people engaged with this content
longer if I click on this via video for example you'll see that you can steal a
lot of traffic from suggested videos over here and you want as a content
creator if I were down to Silva I would want the majority of these suggestive
videos to also be my videos the reason for that is keep people engaged with
your content longer which increases views likes comments watch time
obviously you know monetization and money it's more chance for you get
exposure and get your message out there and build your audience that's the name
of the game with YouTube so it's important to brand thumbnails obviously
for suggestive videos so people can notice very very easily you know this
happens subconsciously of course which videos are yours on suggested and which
ones aren't so this one says obviously this is a Tanner Fox one like I just
showed you but similar you can tell that they're both kind of I think they're
friends they both kind of do the same type of thing and it's a great idea you
want to brand your thumbnails and make it really really easy for people to
understand and recognize that those are your videos and they'll be more you know
inclined to click on your videos so just to give you a couple examples I tried
these ones with like the these are very basic and I'm not like you know now I'm
gonna let it yet but I'm improving I tried like the little slashes on the
sides because it's easy to recognize that that's my video I also in the past
tried go back a little bit farther and this is just giving you some ideas of
what you can do um granted these I didn't really like these
so I'm going to stay with them but I used to do like the half black screens
which is really easy to recognize that they were my videos stuff like that and
then recently if we go into my recent ones I've been basically just putting
the same you can see right here the same kind of diagonal what's the word I'm
looking for text kind of kind of stamp on my videos and that makes it really
really easy and suggested to see that so if you go in here to my latest video
that I just did yesterday or a couple days ago sorry basically
you'll notice that if you look over on suggested videos hopefully some of mine
won't be there see this one's clearly mine same type of you know stamp that
red white and black stamp and that's the only one right there this is another one
my videos but it's it's not the same type of you know thumbnail but that's
just something that you can keep in mind across the board that will help keep
people on your content keep them engaged with your channel and keep your watch
time increasing and that's the name of the game of YouTube the second thing
obviously is to use contrasting colors so YouTube's primarily and clearly I'm
not doing this you know because I'm red white black so I still need to kind of
implement this message but it's something I hear across the board from
people that are really successful doing this and you know successful youtubers
you want to use contrasting colors so your greens your Purple's you know your
your maybe even oranges stuff like that stuff that is contrasted or contrasting
sorry to YouTube's normal colors which are red
white and black because that will basically get you notice more frequently
when people are scrolling down like let's just say I go to YouTube really
fast scrolling down videos by Siwon the majority of them are different colors
but ones you know purple or ones green this is a great example right here or
you know this color right here it's really gonna stand out amongst the rest
of the videos because the majority of the contrast and colors on YouTube are
not going to be that so you really kind of gives you an edge it kind of bumps
you up and it really gets the clips clicks going which is crucial for
thumbnails and your channel because if you can't get clicks you're not gonna
get views and if you can't get views you're not gonna be able to you know
increase your watch time build your audience get subscriptions as well as
you know get your message across and sell whatever you're selling because
make no mistake everybody on YouTube is selling something so I use canva you can
use across the board you can use there are million different things that you
can use I've been kind of touching around with different platforms and
different uh you know basically software economy learn but I haven't kind of
jumped into that yet but canva is a really great one if you if you don't
know where to create thumbnails that kind of look
semi-professional you can basically hop on canva and create YouTube thumbnails
there's one right here that is literally that size it's perfect and then you can
upload your own images you know mess around with text and your formats it's
really really easy to use and something that I recommend for anybody just
starting out on YouTube because you can make you know basically format it
perfectly for the YouTube thumbnail and it's 100% free so hope you guys like
