Morata: 'People say things to me in the street but they don't know what I have been through'

Alvaro Morata has described how a crippling back injury turned his dream start at Chelsea into a nightmare and led to him being abused in the street.

The 25-year-old striker, who fears he could miss out on a World Cup spot with Spain, explained: 'At the beginning I scored goals and everyone loved me but now it is different.

People say things to me in the street but they don't know what I have been through.

'I would have preferred to have torn a muscle and been out for three months than to not know what was wrong with me.

I wanted to play and keep scoring but I could not.

Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has opened up on a mixed debut season at Chelsea.

Morata enjoyed a hugely promising start to life at Stamford Bridge but has struggled since.

'We went to see two doctors in England and they could not find the problem.

We went to Germany and what happened there was very difficult.

'I had to go several times to receive treatment and for them to inject my back.

'The pain was bad and then I had to go back to London to train the next day.

I think that was my mistake.

I should have stopped.

When you are injured you are injured and that's that.'.

Morata said things took a turn for the worse just after he learned he was going to be a father.

He told Marca: ''I wanted to play but in the warm-up I couldn't move.

I asked the doctor to give me an injection. .

Morata acknowledges that he should not have carried on playing through a back injury.

The 25-year-old fears that his stubborn approach may have put his World Cup hopes in danger.

'I wanted to dedicate a goal to the baby and from there I got it into my head of not wanting to stop and wanting to prove myself and everything went wrong.

He believes playing on may have cost him his place at the World Cup.

'I would love to go to Russia.

It will be tough to be left out but I know that is a possibility,' he said.

Morata, who could finish the season with a winner's medal if Chelsea beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 19, is determined to make a long-term success of his move to Chelsea and is learning how to deal with the demands of the Premier League.

Morata is looking to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for inspiration over the next few weeks.

He added: 'I know how the league is now and what the referees are like.

In this last part of the season I am becoming their friend because that is the only way they give you fouls.

'In the first half of the season it was crazy.

I protested a lot. .

'One of them told me that he knew it had been a foul but that he was not going to blow it.

Now I go out and I know that I have to dish it out too because if not they will break me.'.

What Happened When I Ate Nothing But "Healthy" Fast Food For A Week - Duration: 4:43.

- Fast food is cheap and convenient.

But hidden in between the burgers and tacos

are some "healthy" options:

salads, grilled chicken, yogurts, oatmeal, power burritos.

Doesn't sound too bad, right?

I spent a week eating nothing but these "healthy" fast foods

and I lost six-and-a-half pounds.

But even though I lost about a pound a day,

it didn't really go well.

I live in New York City,

a place with every possible food you could want.

Eating healthy here, it's a breeze.

But across America,

there are more than 200,000 fast food joints,

and they're bringing in

more than $200 billion a year in sales.

And no matter where you go,

you're never far from a place like McDonald's or Taco Bell.

But in recent years,

consumers want better, healthier choices,

and the traditional fast food places

have been losing customers

to those fast casual healthy options.

The rules were pretty simple:

Eat every major meal at a national fast food chain

and stick to the healthy options.

McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell,

Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, and Chick-fil-A;

nothing but them for a week.

Yeah, I lost almost seven pounds,

but let's take a close look at the numbers.

On a normal day, I'm eating around 2,500 calories.

An adult man should be having

about 2,400 to 2,600 calories a day.

But on this fast food plan, my calories plummeted.

Most of these meals came in under 400 calories,

and that was one of my first problems.

I'd eat and just a couple hours later, I was starving.

And I had days when I didn't eat more than 1,000 calories.

Now, some of these meals were really good.

My favorite was this grilled chicken market salad

from Chick-fil-A.

It had blueberries, strawberries, apples;

it was delicious and it was actually healthy.

However, a lot of the other salads

from Burger King, McDonald's, and Wendy's

were loaded with salt, often more than 50%

of what I needed for the entire day, from a salad.

In fact, excess salt was a problem the entire week.

I thought I had hit the jackpot

with Taco Bell's al Fresco menu.

They take off all the cheese and mayo-based sauces

and replace it with lettuce and pico de gallo.

One night I got tacos,

another night I got a power cantina burrito,

and these were meals with more protein than usual.

So, I felt like I was getting enough food.

They were good, too good.

It was all salt.

In fact, just one burrito had almost as much salt

as I needed in just one day.

The American Heart Association

says we should limit our sodium

to about 2,300 milligrams a day,

but the ideal is closer to 1,500 milligrams a day,

especially for a person like me with high blood pressure.

But if you look at my sodium intake, it was high every day,

yet I was barely getting the calories I needed.

If I wanted to keep the sodium down, I was starving.

If I wanted to feel full, salt through the roof.

You see, that's an issue in the fast food industry.

Wendy's even acknowledges on their website

that there's going to be a trade-off

between salt and flavor.

It was weird.

I didn't feel healthy at all throughout the week,

even though I was eating healthy foods and losing weight.

And on the last day,

I had this massive headache that was just infuriating.

These places, they're supposed to be

tasty, cheap, and convenient.

But it wasn't cheap.

Every healthy option was expensive, but left me hungry.

For eight grilled nuggets

and this tiny kale salad at Chick-fil-A, $12.

For the power Mediterranean salad at Wendy's,

it was almost $8, yet I could get a cheeseburger,

nuggets, fries, and a soda for only $4.

That brings me to another problem.

Walk into McDonald's and you get hit

with that sweet, sweet french fry smell,

and I had to get a salad.

Would I recommend this to anyone?

Nope, unless you're stuck on the road with no other options.

Though there was a bright spot: breakfast at Subway.

They have these egg-white-and-cheese sandwiches,

which I got covered in spinach and peppers.

And let me tell you, it was good.

But after all this, I just want a cheeseburger.

(light orchestral music)

Pregnant Teen Gives Baby Up For Adoption But With Catch That's Making National Headlines

Kaleena Pysher's story started off like many others in her situation.

The 19-year-old was seeing someone, things went sour and she ended up getting pregnant

during her senior year of high school.

Instead of terminating the pregnancy, Kaleena thought it was best for her to give the baby

girl up for adoption.

The long pregnancy wore on, Kaleena became more and more confident with her decision.

This was going to give the baby her best chance at having a happy life with a solid family.

Even though Kaleena's decision was similar to millions of others, she did something after

the birth that was truly unique.

Before it came time to give her newborn to her new parents, Kaleena was able to spend

some time with her daughter on her chest.

That instant bond was something she would remember for the rest of her life.

After that brief moment passed, Kaleena handed over her baby girl to the adoptive couple,

family friends who always wanted a child of their own.

Kaleena could see that they were over the moon with excitement -- and she was ready

to let her mind and body heal.

But when she saw her daughter the second time, she was prepared with the gift of a lifetime.

As her milk continued to come in following the birth, Kaleena breastfed for weeks.

She wanted to give the adoptive parents enough milk to ensure her daughter was taken care

of physically.

A mother's milk is one of the best things for a newborn during that fragile time.

With the amount of breast milk Kaleena was able to stockpile, the baby would be taken

care of for months.

Even though it was unimaginable to go through the heartbreak of giving up a child, she knew

this was the right thing to do.

Scott Coker open to Frank Mir fighting in ACB, but timing must be right - Duration: 3:13.

Scott Coker open to Frank Mir fighting in ACB, but timing must be right

Bellator President Scott Coker still plans to promote former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir,, whom he signed to a multi-fight contract.

But Coker told MMAjunkie he's open to the idea of Mir (18-12 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) competing overseas – as long as his engagements don't compete with Bellator's interests.

"I haven't really talked to him about what he wants to do," Coker said.

"But if the timing works out and he wanted to fight, I have no problem.

But we definitely plan to have him fight again before the end of the year.".

After a first-round knockout loss to ex-PRIDE champ Fedor Emelienanko (37-5 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) in the opening round of the Bellator's heavyweight grand prix this past weekend, Mir revealed on his "Phone Booth Fighting" podcast that Bellator is targeting his return for October.

Before that happens, he said, he wants to get in a fight with Absolute Championship Berkut (ACB), the Russia-based organization where he also serves as a fight commentator.

Mir, who hadn't fought since March 2016 when he faced Emelianenko at Bellator 198, said he needs to shake off some cage rust before he gets into the cage again.

"Hopefully next fight I'll probably not take someone as dangerous as Fedor, probably get my feet a little bit underneath me," he said.

"Hopefully Fedor, after he goes through and has success and wins the tournament, maybe I can be his first title defense if I've strung together some wins.".

Mir signed with Bellator after his UFC release, which had shelved him in the wake of a USADA violation he vehemently disputed.

The anti-doping agency suspended him for two years after finding oral turinabol in his in-competition drug test for a fight with Mark Hunt at UFC Fight Night 85.

Coker did not mention a potential opponent for Mir, who stands 2-7 in his past nine bouts but owns the UFC-heavyweight wins record.

I suck at the huntress, (but i am ok at the rogue) - Duration: 11:28.

hello and welcome to a one of episode (for now)

this is a fun little game i play often, called pixel dungeon

it is a rouge like dungeon crawler in which you have to go through 25 floors, and every fifth floor is a boss

anyway as you can see on the clickbaitish (sorry about that) opening i am not good at the huntress

so in order to unlock the huntress, you have to beat the the third boss (in floor 15) with any other class.

so as you can see the bat has an exclamation point on its head, that means it sees me. (i have to do this in blocks so if is saw me earlier and i am bringing this up now you know why

anyway the bat has 4 health compared to the huntresses 20, but the bat has 4 actions per turn compared to the players 1

anyway i am running out of things to say so catch ya on the flip side and enjoy
