it really motivates me watching videos like this you just see these people just

working incredibly hard and they lose a lot of weight and they really better

themselves and I just really wish that I could take the time to do

something like that but if you're like me you feel like you never have enough

time and that's how I felt until recently this is me I'm a husband and a

father I have a full-time job that requires me to set up my desk for most

of the day I used to be in really good shape but because of bad decisions and

the worries of life I am where I am today I just want to make sure I'm here for my

family for as long as I can be now I've done some things in the past to try to

help me lose a little weight and to try to get back into shape but they weren't

the right type of thing so they just weren't sustainable that's why I've

decided this simple man is going to take a simple approach to getting back into

shape and I'm going to show you exactly how I did it

so starting out I know this sounds so simple and basic but the truth is I was

pretty clueless about my lifestyle that's when I decided I needed to I to

myself so I can come up with a plan going forward that's why I decided to

get a Fitbit in case you're not familiar with a Fitbit it's basically a pedometer

that counts your steps and estimates how many calories you've burned for a day it

also has an app that's really useful and it can actually help you track a whole

lot more here's what I found out about myself I'm a typical day I would take

anywhere from 6,000 to 8,000 steps if I was lucky I would drink maybe 32 ounces

of water that's roughly 100 milliliters I would eat anywhere between twenty six

hundred and three thousand four hundred calories a day my basal metabolic rate

was 1993 which basically means if I did absolutely nothing each day my body

would still burn 1993 calories to maintain the same size if you're curious

what your basal metabolic rate is I'll go ahead and include the link to the

calculator I used below that way you can find out for yourself

so my body burns 1993 calories everyday regardless of my activity level after

you add in the amount that I move around will say 7,500 steps for example it

bumps that number up to roughly two thousand four hundred and twenty-five

calories a day to maintain but I'm eating roughly three thousand calories a

day honestly three thousand calories can

come on pretty quick once you start to really pay attention to them so I have a

calorie surplus of five hundred and seventy five calories per day roughly

now this can vary wildly depending on what I'm doing each day and the things I

eat but it's easy to see how you can add extra weight in no time on top of this

I'm probably severely dehydrated opting to drink other things outside of water

while the thought of joining a gym and going all out sounds appealing I know

myself and after two weeks I'd be burnout not to mention the money and

time so I decided to try and up my step count to a daily goal of 15,000 when I

hit the 15,000 steps a day my calories burned jumped up to 3200 I'm able to hit

the school about 85% of the time I started taking the longer out to places

I also tried to go for a nightly walk and even walk in my yard in the evening

when I'm not able to go for a walk at the very least I would try to walk or

run in place while watching TV just to get my steps in the Fitbit is actually

quite motivating it's a constant reminder on my wrist to be more active

when I otherwise probably wouldn't have been secondly I needed to rein in my

eating I decided that the number of calories I was going to shoe for would

be 1800 a day or close to it I also closely monitored my food for the

first week after about the first week I gotten fairly comfortable with what I

should be eaten and decided that I wouldn't monitor it quite as close to

next week if this video is popular enough and I get requests for it I'll

create another video on what I ate as I did start to move towards healthier

options but to keep this video fairly short most of the time I just paid

attention to the calories rather than the macros of the food the final step in

my plan was to increase my water this also meant trying to cut back on

probably my worst habit drinking soda typically every day around lunchtime I'd

want to get out of the office for a quick bit so I'd run down to the store

and get a 32 ounce coke this is roughly 3,000 extra calories every day by

replacing that with water I'm saving a nice chunk of calories right there also

just if you're curious I haven't completely given up soda I still allow

myself to per week I also noticed though that my skin looked much better after

increasing my water intake and if you feel like snacking try drinking a glass

of water first it's surprising how many times you're actually thirsty rather

than hungry because after I would drink water

my hunger would usually go away for a good while these simple things aren't

too hard right with them in place I went from a daily calorie surplus of 500

seventy-five to a calorie deficit of 1400 so here I am two weeks later

me so here I am two weeks later in two

weeks I was able to lose 10 pounds and drop my body fat down 3% my blood

pressure also benefited from the changes dropping from 140 over 74 to 108 over 74

the great thing about this plan is it's sustainable

even if I decide to eat more than 1,800 calories for the day I'm now more active

in burning more calories so this helps me to stay in better shape when you

first start out there days that you just want to call it quits because honestly

it's easier and less restrictive to not worry about it but you keep with it

because you're getting tired of being fat and after a few days it starts to

become the norm you start seeing results when I look in the mirror now I stop

seeing what I currently look like and I start seeing what I could look like here

in the near future it's really motivating now that I've taken these

first few steps literally I think I'm ready to go on to some more steps that's

the thing one small positive change leads to another and another and before

you know it you're accomplishing more than you thought you could have a short

while ago

I was really irritable, and so I thought I have to be going through early menopause.

I did not end up getting into the medical school.

I'm starting to think that maybe I need to rewrite the MCAT.

If I am going through menopause early then I need to have a kid right now.

So I would be writing the MCAT while pregnant.

My doctor just asked me if I want to take my IUD out, my birth control out.

I don't know what I want.

I've just been here crying.

DIY Leaf Brooch from a Soda Can - Duration: 10:33.

*Not idly do the leaves of Lórien fall..*

Hello, crafty nerds!

As a Lord of the Rings fan, I always wanted to own a "leaf of Lorien", a brooch that the

fellowship received from the elves.

But I didnt want to spend any money on it, and to be honest, the ones you can buy are

not even completely accurate in colour and shininess.

So I'll show you how to make one yourself for cheap

that doesn't look too bad for a DIY version.

*So it begins.*

To start with, you're gonna need a template.

Normally I'm too lazy for this, but in this case it really made a huge difference.

Then you're gonna take an empty soda can.

And it has to be an Assassin's Creed can.

Just kidding, what it looks like is not important.

Put your template anywhere on the can, it doesn't matter where... and stab it with scissors.

Then just cut out a piece that is big enough.

Be sure to cut away the sharp and ragged edges, because they can be really pointy.

You can see that the metal is a bit curved, so we need to flatten it out.

Take a round object, like a marker, and bend the metal the opposite way.

Next, you're gonna need some fabric as a surface for embossing. This works quite well

with old jeans or pretty much any fabric.

I used four layers.

So place the metal with the silver side up on the fabric and secure the template on the

metal with some tape.

Then take a pen

and trace the template.

Don't go over the lines more than once.

When you remove the template, you can see that you transferred the lines onto the metal.

Now we need a pen that doesn't work.

It's kinda ironic that it was hard to find an empty pen, but I finally found this slightly

embarrassing one.

So, first you're just gonna go over the lines once again, you can correct them a bit and

make them more tidy.

Then, we're gonna turn around the leaf..

and we're gonna fill in the lines, like you

would in a colouring book.

And this will really give the leaf its shape.

We're gonna do the same everywhere until everything is filled in.

So far it looks like this.

It's getting there.

We'll just repeat the same steps as before to give the shape more definition.

So I'm going over the outlines again...

And like here you can also go further than the outlines, which can help to create more

depth.

But don't force anything too much, it won't look good and the metal can even tear if you

exaggerate.

If you see that the metal is bending like here and it bothers you, you can cut a bit

of it away and it will relieve some tension.

But still don't cut too close to the leaf.

Also go over the veines again.. and just repeat going over everything from both sides until

you're happy with the shape.

So this is what it looked like when I was done.

The next step is to cut it out.

There's not so much to say about it except that I find it a bit tricky to make the corners

look nice, so try to be very exact when cutting them.

And this is what I got.

Now it's time to paint the leaf.

I used acrylic paints and a random brush to mix a metallic green shade.

Basically all you need is green, black and silver.

But I also mixed in a little gold.

I put some tape loops on the back of the leaf and attached it to my painting surface..

And then I painted it with a very thin layer.

This is quite important, because the paint won't stick to the metal if the layers are

too thick.

Also, I'm not using any water to dilute the paint for the first coat.

Wait until the paint is dry, then give it another coat.

Now you can use a bit of water to make the paint smoother.

And then everything should be covered.

If you need another coat, I would only apply a very thin layer.

The next step is to give the leaf its veins.

To do that, we are gonna scratch the metal with a map tack or any other needle that is

as sharp as possible.

You can look at references from the internet to know where to scratch.

I started with the edges..

And I did the inner lines after that.

Here's the result.

I admit this is quite detailed work and a little tricky, but I enjoy doing it.

When you're happy with the veins, make sure that there's no dust on the leaf so you can

seal the paint.

I used matte nail polish because I didnt want it to look shiny, but you can use any other

seal, like mod podge or if you dont mind the shininess, regular white glue or regular clear

nail polish.

Now to the silver vines that wind around the leaf.

For this, I used aluminium wire that matched the thickness of the veins.

In my case it's 1 millimeter thick.

It is made from the same metal as the leaf and doesn't lose its colour over time.

But it's almost too easy to bend, so be aware of that if you use it too.

Basically we are gonna need three pieces of wire. For the arches, bend the

wire at the end to get a corner.

This will go here.

Then form the arch connecting these two parts.

You don't have to be so exact for now.

Leave a bit of extra wire and cut it with pliers or strong scissors.

Then repeat for the other arch.

This is what it should look like approximately.

Then for the third peace make another sharp corner.

This one will go to the tip of the leaf.

The rest will be shaped lateron.

Now take a hot glue gun, and if you don't have one, I think you could use clay to attach

the wires.

I'm starting with the longer piece and am glueing the corner to the backside of the

tip.

Then I'm winding the wire around the leaf, looking at references..

And I'm forming a loop at the top like here.

At this point I remembered I need to make sure to have enough space for a safety pin.

You could of course use an actual brooch pin if you wanna be fancy.

So, keeping the safety pin in mind, shape the wire and snip it off.

Glue it on...

And that vine is done.

Next, I took one of the arch wires, pulled it through the loop and glued the corner on.

Then I did the same with the other arch.

I shaped the wire so I could glue it well, cut it off and glued it on.

So the vines are done!

Now only the pin is left.

Use a lot of glue to make it stay in place, but be careful not to block it.

Here you can see it doesn't move and it still closes.

Now it's as good as done!

I just painted the back silver.

It's still not super pretty, but it almost looks like it has been soldered.

So that's it!

*It's done!*

Now you can wear your leaf of Lórien as a brooch or even as a necklace and give some

to your friends so you can find them when orcs kidnap them.

Woods' tweet was spurred by the news that the Boy Scouts of America — a revered name

in youth development since it was incorporated in 1910 — would no longer be known by anything

so gender-specific as the word "Boys."Instead, the organization will now be known as "Scouts

BSA," to reflect its decision last fall to buckle under to conformist pressures and

open its ranks to girls.

The move might have been greeted with joy by liberals, but there's no small amount

of outrage — and contempt — among critics for the Scouts' about-face, and the new

name that symbolizes it.

As always, Woods tweet stirred up comment from all ends of the political spectrum, but

there were quite a few that saw a dark force at work.The media that destroyed its own credibility

as an institution by its slavish devotion to the Barack Obama presidency isn't capable

of even questioning any part of the liberal agenda anymore.

It's not even capable of understanding that it should be questioned.

No one questions the Girl Scouts because they're an unthreatening American institution that,

for most of us, means cookies every spring.

The Boy Scouts, however, were offensive to liberals because of their understandable reluctance

to let gay men near young boys, emphasis on honesty and honorable behavior, self-reliance

and a general attitude that it was important to teach boys to be men — what liberals

today call "toxic masculinity."For liberal purposes, the Girl Scouts don't have to

be destroyed.

The Boy Scouts do.

Forcing the group to accept gays was one step (The Associated Press laughably claims the

group is stronger than ever since the move).

Forcing it to accept girls is another.

Now a name change that's literally emasculating — "Scouts BSA" — is a third.

Woods wondered why the Girl Scouts still exist?

At this rate, they might last longer than whatever the group formerly known as the Boy

Scouts ends up.

As reported by Truthfeed, President Trump is actually authorized to fire FBI director

Comey, due to a 1960s bill, which states:

Under a U.S. bill that first took effect in 1968, FBI directors are nominated by the president

and must be confirmed by the Senate — a process similar to the nomination and confirmation

of Supreme Court justices or presidential cabinet officials.

Unlike the justices, who are appointed for life and cannot be fired — but can be impeached

by congress (which has happened only one time in the U.S. history) — or cabinet officials

who have no set terms, the FBI director is appointed to a single term of 10 years.

The bill establishing the 10-year term limit was passed in 1976, four years after the death

of legendary FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, who held on to the job for 48 years.

But as a report acquired in 2014 by the Congressional Research Service suggests, "there are no

statutory conditions on the President's authority to remove the FBI Director."

Meaning, President Trump can fire the FBI director without having second though.

An FBI director can also be removed by congress, through the impeachment process.

I just wanted to talk a little bit about your work with the Arsenal Foundation

and with some of the young guys in North London.

Has it been important for you to be working with players of your own age?

The kind of guys who have similar backgrounds to you?

Yeah it's very important to give back to the community, give back to the people of where you used to come from.

I've had the luck to go back to estates, to schools and help around and just...

put smiles on kids faces, on teenagers faces.

It's been a honour and hope I can continue going there as well.

How important is it to have evenings like this where the work of you and others is being recognised?

I'm sure the other guys, just like me we don't do it for the recognition but the fact that it does get recognised is amazing.

The fact that it's coming out, I'm sure more players, more athletes will be inspired to be involved in the community

or in charities as well.

We wanted to ask you about your first memories of Arsenal growing up

because you're a guy who's associated with North London.

The work you do with the Arsenal Foundation is clearly close to your heart.

What are your first memories of the club when you were a kid?

My first memories…

For me when I was like four, my dad gave me the Arsenal kit.

I think it was my first kit and I was excited because it was the first full kit.

I had the whole shorts and socks as well.

Just wearing it I was like, 'wow'.

I actually felt like an Arsenal player at the age of four.

so to be where I am today, I'm so grateful.

Your first interaction with the club when they were looking at bringing you on board,

how was that to actually be there, be part of it, visit Highbury and visit these places?

When I was young I would probably say I didn't appreciate it as much as I would now.

When you're young you just want to go out and play football.

As soon as you see a ball you just want to go and… follow the ball.

Growing up now and looking at what I used to do as a kid, it's just amazing.

The fact that I was able to go to places like Highbury and different projects that Arsenal used to put on for youngsters.

Do you have any memories of Kanu when he was playing for Arsenal?

Not too many memories but I just remember his skill, his grace on the ball.

Even now when I see him, his wisdom… he always helps me off the pitch.

He's always been a great person as well as a great player.

Was it inspiring as a young guy to have a Nigerian superstar playing for your hometown club?

Yeah, of course.

Especially as he is a forward, I've always liked to emulate my game around him.

It's been inspirational and influential for me to also pick my country as well.

There's been other influences such as my family, my uncle, but at the end of the day it was my decision as well.

What about Thierry Henry?

What is it like to have a hero like that playing for your own club, someone you can aim to emulate?

Yeah he's always been an idol for me growing up.

The way he was able to get goals. He's so fast and so effective in games.

I even had the privilege of working with him when he was around at Arsenal.

He always used to talk to the youngsters and help us.

He's a great person, a great man as well.

Do you think the fact that there are a lot of young guys, some guys with British backgrounds in the Nigeria team,

does that help you in terms of the morale within the camp, the mood and atmosphere?

At the end of the day they can be British, could be. We're all Nigerian at the end of the day. We're all one big family.

I would just like to say we're one big family. It doesn't matter where you're from.

If your Nigerian we're proud to have you.

How excited are you about this summer, the World Cup?

I can't wait. We've still got some preparation games and I still need to end the season well for my club.

It's always been my dream and the fact that it's becoming reality, I just can't wait.

This last week Wilfred Ndidi picked up an injury which… hopefully he'll still make it but

how important is he to the Super Eagles?

What he keeps showing in the Premier League, this level of consistency,

what does it mean for an attacking player to have someone so disciplined in central midfield?

Wilfried Ndidi is a great player but unfortunately his style of play is what usually goes unnoticed.

You always notice the flashy players that get the goals

but someone like Wilfred does the job, he has an engine, works really hard for the team and he's always unselfish.

We need someone like him, especially in attack. We've got a lot of attacking, exciting players.

To have someone like him is almost an assurance and helps the defence well.

He's a great player.

I just hope the injury is not too serious and he's back playing soon.

Fingers crossed, let's be hopeful.

A lot of young guys in this Nigeria team are heading to their first World Cup.

How important is John Obi Mikel and the experience he brings?

With all that he's won, how important is he to this squad?

I wouldn't say he's the dad of the team but he's almost…

He tries to keep us level headed, always reminds us of what we need to do, takes care of us, caters for us

and gives us advice as well so…he is a big part. He's our captain as well.

He has a big part to play in this World Cup

and he'll be talking to us and helping us through it.

One final question. You suffered a defeat against Serbia in a friendly,

the second loss of Gernot Rohr's reign.

Do you think that's something that might actually help the team,

help you guys keep your feet on the ground or just sharpen the mind ahead of the tournament?

Of course, I mean it's always nice to win but we didn't take it as a loss

we took it as a lesson learnt.

Obviously there are still a few adjustments that we need to add to the team and work on.

I wouldn't say its good that we lost but it may help us so we can learn from our mistakes

and go again in our preparations games before the World Cup.

To alchemize your darkness into a beautiful fruit the world can use.

Whatever you put your hands into don�t be afraid if it�s good or bad as long as it

helps in your healthy transformation.

The process may bring back the pain you once experienced, but this heroic engagement is

where you actually find your life�s meaning, purpose, and significance.

FACE YOUR SHADOWS AND BEFRIEND YOUR DEMONS.

Both the worlds of dark and light exist within you.

Hence, you�ll be confronted from time to time with your shadows and darkness.

While these things are commonly portrayed as bad, they are a part of your nature the

same as your light.

And the key to not let them control you is really counterintuitive that most people do

the opposite and end up doing terrible things.

Not everyone knows that facing these inner shadows and demons, instead of running away

from them, is the only way of breaking free of their grip on you.

These inner demons are produced of your wounds, and by avoiding them you hurt yourself again

and again, in the same manner.

The truth is, their mere presence only suggests that there is part of you that needs healing,

a kind of blockage that prevents you from moving forward.

Sometimes, by avoiding these wounds mindlessly you might even hurt other people around you

who love you and want the best for you.

But if you face your shadows and demons, when you stop being scared of them, you�ll realize

that they are actually messengers.

They are there to show you what needs healing.

Tim Allen is one of the few well-known conservatives and Republicans in Hollywood.

Ordinarily, they are shunned and refused work because of how liberal the rest of the entertainment

industry is.

The alienation of Allen worsened when he expressed his support for President Trump.

But his support for the President was never more clear than when he appeared on Jimmy

Kimmel's late-night talk show.

Deadline.com reported,

"Tim Allen stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday night, where he shared his experience

about going to Donald Trump's inauguration and how being a conservative in Hollywood

is like living in 1930s Germany.

I was invited, we did a VIP thing for the vets, and went to a veterans ball, so I went

to go see Democrats and Republicans," the Last Man Standing actor said.

"Yeah I went to the inauguration."

"I'm not attacking you," laughed Jimmy Kimmel, after Allen turned defensive.You've

gotta be real careful around here," Allen replied.

"You get beat up if don't believe what everybody believes.

This is like '30s Germany.

I don't know what happened.

If you're not part of the group, 'You know what we believe is right,' I go, 'Well,

I might have a problem with that.'

I'm a comedian, I like going on both sides."Allen, who's previously spoken out about Hollywood

being "hypocritical," told Megyn Kelly on Fox News last year that he finds it "odd"

that Hollywood didn't like Trump because he was a bully.

"But if you had any kind of inkling that you were for Trump, you got bullied," he

explained.

During his interview with Kimmel, Allen also discussed how people should be paranoid about

our privacy being compromised by the government and other major companies.

"If a government drove by with a gray sedan with a camera on it, you'd be rioting and

going to Washington," he explained.

"But if it's white, with emojis and Google on it, 'Yay,' you're waving at it.

They're taking pictures of your house!""

Allen is most known for his old show Home Improvement and his more recent show that

he starred in Last Man Standing.

A great show, that got amazing reviews, yet was pulled from the network.

Something Allen attributes to his conservative-leaning character.

A Los Angeles Times article event reported that there are 2,500 of his entertainment

colleagues who joined a secret group for entertainers who are conservative because of the fear that

if they are open about it they will be ostracized from the industry.

The Washington Post reported,

"In 30 years of show business, I've never seen it like this," an unnamed actor told

the outlet.

"If you are even lukewarm to Republicans, you are excommunicated from the church of

tolerance."

Since it premiered several years ago, Allen's show has been hailed as a rare counterexample

to Hollywood politics.Finally, we have a hero who hunts, fishes, watches sports, and occasionally

drives a tank," the Imaginative Conservative wrote.

But Allen himself has complained of network censorship when his protagonist, an alpha-male

family man whom the actor has called 'an educated Archie Bunker,' tries to go after

liberal icons.

Allen "admits he has gotten more than one warning to stop calling President Obama a

'communist,'" the TV Page reported in 2015.

Allen didn't sound so dire during the Republican primaries, when the Hollywood Reporter asked

whether he vented his own political views through his character.

"It's getting more and more comfortable," he said.

"These guys know me so well that they're writing stuff that is exactly what I would've

said.

It's a marvelous thing when you have lib­eral people writing for [a show like this]."

And he sounded lukewarm about the prospect of a Trump presidency.

"Forget the stupid s— he says about immigrants," Allen said.

"That's just ignorant.

But he might be able to do the stuff that really needs fixing."

After the election, on Fox News, Allen compared Trump to an amateur performer with "very

bad comic timing."

"I don't want to defend the guy," he said.

The industry has become more toxic to conservatives since Trump took office, the Los Angeles Times

reported.

Workers complained of political shouting matches on set and the professional shunning of those

known to hold right-leaning views — although some had enough celebrity to speak out safely."Tim

Allen is a comedic genius who has found success in the entertainment industry for over 30

years.

He has been able to carve out a spot for himself as a high profile, high profiting, and well

known conservative actor.

Something that almost none of his other counterparts have been able to do.

Which is exactly why he has found success, especially with Last Man Standing.

It was something that spoke to real people, middle-class Americans.

And it is this messaging that won Republicans power in the general elections as well as

the midterm elections.
