everyone has been asking, everyone.
- Errrbody.
- What will happen if we cut
through the blade of running chainsaw,
so we're gonna strap this down.
We're gonna do it sideways like this,
'cause if this does cut through this blade,
that blade could fling off and,
you know, decapitate Craig or something.
But we don't want, more importantly, we don't want it
up like this because we don't want it to flip up
and hit the nozzle, we'd rather have it hit Craig
than the nozzle, right?
- Oh yeah.
- [Dan] The nozzle's a little more expensive than Craig is,
so we're gonna strap it down like that,
put a screw through there, run it, and then
bring the jet into the side of it.
- [Mitchell] Okay should we get the pump?
- [Dan] Yeah.
- [Dan] Okay yeah let's start the pump
and then hide, I guess.
- [Dan] OK, start it.
(engine revs up)
(whirring)
(spraying)
(humming)
(growling)
- [Dan] I have no idea what happened (laughs).
- [Craig] It was hard to tell where it was at.
- [Mitchell] Oh yeah, especially since you're
behind the board totally shielded.
This is where it broke, this chain right here,
but you can see there's like holes
where it was cutting through,
there's one down there.
- [Mitchell] And there.
- [Dan] Oh yeah right there on that link,
it chewed it up a little bit.
And we didn't even go into the arm of it,
so we were only on the chain right there.
There's just too much pressure,
and pushing down on the chain that way,
it just instantly bound it, and then every once in a while,
it got enough traction to move a little bit,
but it's kind of what we were expecting.
I'm glad nobody died, so.
- I was kind of expecting that.
- [Dan] What, somebody to die?
- Yeah.
- [Dan] Oh okay.
So now it's time to answer
the second most asked question ever.
How long will this stay running just idle
when we cut through it from up there?
(cranking chainsaw)

- [Dan] So we only got in about an inch from there
before it stopped,
so let's see what we hit.
A handle.
Right in the top of the cylinder,
so we got probably 'til about right there 'til it stopped.
- [Mitchell] Apparently that's an important piece.
- [Dan] Blade clutch was right there, (clicks tongue)
there's part of it,
there you go, that's where your cylinder is, oh,
there's the rest of the blade clutch right there though,
there's the spring in it that we cut in half.
Then, oh that's the spark plug wire,
and that's all that's left of the spark plug,
the rest of it is powder
in the bottom of the tank somewhere,
and that's about how long a chainsaw will last
when cutting through with a 60,000 PSI water jet.
- Okay, no we're going to go through (beep)
and return it.
Are we allowed to say (beep)?
- [Dan] No.
- Bleep that.
- [Dan] Okay.
I was cutting the--
- [Clerk] Doesn't have gas in it does it?
- [Dan] Not much right now.
- [Clerk] K, I'm gonna have to get a manager's permission,
because we're not allowed to return anything
with gasoline in it.
- [Dan] Okay.
- So they wanna return this
but it's got a little bit of gas in it,
and when we pulled it out it was leaking.
So I told Matt, and he told me to talk to you.
- Not like a ton in there,
but there's a little bit.
- Why is it broken in half?
- Well, it wasn't working, bogging down,
so I was trying to see what was bogging it down.
(Manager mumbles)
No?
- No.
How am I going to resell that?
You guys broke it in half.
- Did we?
- It came out of the box like that?
- No, it was running at first,
and we had to see what was bogging it down so much.
- Yeah, I don't think so.
- [Clerk] They said they just bought it today.
- And it came out of the box like that?
- Well no, it was running at first, doesn't run now.
- How is it in half, that's my question.
- Well, we put the chain, maybe the chain
got put in backwards or something,
and it cut itself in half instead of cutting the wood.
- Somebody sliced this completely down there.
- What would cut that in half though?
- That's what I'm asking.
- It was probably just the chain, right?
- No, the chain did not do that, a chainsaw chain?
Did not cut that in half.
- Well the chain broke too.
- You cut the spark plug completely in half.
I have never--
- It must have been going pretty fast.
- Holy moly man.
And look at the crank.
- [Clerk] Looks like someone took a butter knife and--
- Literally went with a laser and cut it in half.
In ten years, never seen that, that is amazing.
- [Clerk] Can I take a picture of that?
- Do we need to call Ryobi?
- I would take a picture and show, call Ryobi.
I need to take a picture of that.
- Maybe this was like a--
- I don't have you in the picture, don't worry.
- You guys used it, right?
- Oh you can put us in the picture.
- I'll be like, hey, look at these guys,
they totally did something cool (laughs) impossible, dang.
- If that's not a manufacturer defect, I don't know what is.
- [Clerk] Holy crap.
- I have never.
- So we need to call the manufacturer with that then?
- I would.
- K.
- We'll get to the bottom of it.
- It literally looks like someone took a laser
and just cut it completely in half.
- And that would be a pretty big laser.
- I know and, don't you see it?
- [Clerk] Like a Star Wars movie, that's what happened.
Were you guys holding it and it did that or I mean?
At what point did you realize it was broken in half?
- We were carving a log,
I was trying to carve Dan's face into a log.
(laughs)
I think he was looking pretty good, couldn't finish.
- Jeez, I didn't even know that was possible.
- Sorry man, I'd get a hold of Ryobi,
