[CC] Chaeyoung? Rosé?, How do you record your videos? etc. | ✘ Ask Miki - Duration: 11:55.
Hi guys. It's Miki. Welcome back to my channel.
So today I'm going to be doing a Q&A for you guys
So ever since I recorded my 'Euphoria' cover from Jungkook on to my YouTube channel,
a lot of you guys have been asking me questions on my Instagram
'DM' ing me and on my snapchat
and I've gained some attention after that video
It hit 1.3k views which is probably not that much for you big YouTubers but it was a lot for me okay?
So yea, I wanna thank you guys so much and I'll link it in the 'i' info box if you guys wanna check it out
and I'll also link it in the description below so please go check it out
Thank you guys so much for all the love and support
I'm just going to answers the questions now that I screen shotted
Okay so before I start the questions
I wanna address the fact that a lot of you guys have been commenting on my social media
and on my YouTube comments below that I look like BLACKPINK's Rosé and TWICE's Chaeyoung
I am honoured to look like them. Thank you guys so much for commenting that
I kinda see where the 'Chaeyoung' comes from but I don't really see where the 'Rosé' comes from
It's not a bad thing because she's really pretty- I mean Chaeyoung is pretty as well
She's more cute than pretty, I feel like...
A lot of you guys have been saying I look like Rosé
I asked my friend Angie how I looked like Rosé and she thinks it's because of my cheeks or how I smile
Yea, I don't really know but..
Thank you
Um yep, next question
How do you record your singing videos?
I record my singing videos
with Garageband
It's an in-built app for MacBook users
I'm not sure about Window users. I'm really sorry.
But a lot of you guys have been saying the quality of my 'mic' is really good
Lemme tell you something
I don't use an actual mic, I just use the mic from my earphones and I just sing into the mic from there
A lot of you guys were asking what mic I used as well and that's the mic I use
The mic from my earphones
It's really not a big.. like..
You guys were expecting like omg I use like a $200 microphone when I record my singing videos
Well in reality I use like a $2 one
I don't really..
I don't even know how much it was
It was not really expensive though
But yea
Yea I literally just plug my earphones in Garageband and I just record from there
And for my instrumentals, I just find it on YouTube and then I'll download it from an mp4 converter
Insert it into Garageband and record
Next question
How do you make the animations for your singing videos?
Sometimes I use green screens which you can find on YouTube as well, sometimes I go on Google and find
gifs. Aesthetic gifs and then I will go on a website called 'EzGif' which I'll link in the description box
if you're interested.
It's a website where it converts gifs to mp4 so once you download it from there,
I just insert it into my editing app which is Final Cut Pro.
I used to use iMovie because I didn't know how to use Final Cut Pro but now I kinda get the gist of it
so I'm using Final Cut Pro now
(My) God that scared me. I thought that was a cockroach but it's not
I'm sorry
I used to use iMovie cause I didn't know how to use Final Cut Pro but now I do so I edit in Final Cut Pro
I'll insert the mp4 into Final Cut Pro
and then
I'll just insert the-
cover that I already recorded in Garageband. I export it from Garageband and then it goes into my iTunes
and then I'll drag the music from my iTunes into Final Cut Pro and then I'll edit from there
I know it's kinda really confusing.
If you guys want me to do an actual video just on how I edit my singing videos, then comment down below
I'll probably do one on that cause it's kinda confusing to explain
word by word like this
How many countries have you been to?
I've been to 5 at the moment
So I've been to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and New Zealand.
I went to New Zealand when I was really, really young so I have really vague memory of it
but I know I've been there.
What's your favourite tea flavour?
I actually don't have a favourite
I can't pick one favourite tea flavour
But I do have a few tea flavours that I often go for
One is green tea
or Jasmine green tea
or...
Oolong tea
or Yuzu tea
Yuzu tea is like
a Korean
citrus tea
It's really good
Where are you from?
I am from Australia, Gold Coast
I was born and raised in Australia, Gold Coast
Do you have a boyfriend? BTW I love you
I love you too
No I do not have a boyfriend. I'm sorry
and I don't plan on having one anytime soon because
too much effort to deal with relationships and I don't wanna go through it again at the moment so..
Yea, I'll update you guys.
Are you a good cook?
I wouldn't say I'm an exceptionally good cook
because if I did, Gordon Ramsay would probably wanna shove a cactus up my a**hole
but yea I'm not a really good cook but I'm not a really crap cook either
I would just say I'm in the middle
I'm so lame
What is your star sign?
I am a Gemini
What's something about yourself that you wanna change but probably never will?
That is definitely procrastinating
I procrastinate so much that I never get anything done like
I procrastinate so much during assignments, doing homework. I know this is really bad and
I shouldn't say this but
I'm just being honest with you guys.
Yea I procrastinate
too much
and I need to change that but I can't because YouTube and K-POP and BTS
So yea
I pretty much cannot not procrastinate
I'm not guilty
okay
How old are you?
I am 16 and turning 17 this month.
I'm turning 17 on the 27th
Have you auditioned for any K-POP companies?
A lot of you guys have been asking me this question as well
I actually haven't not because I don't want to, but I never really considered it
I wouldn't say not but I don't think I would do it anytime soon now. I don't think so
Cause I wanna get my studies done
Not that I can cos I procrastinate too much
What inspired you to start singing?
Actually in grade 10 jokes, I mean in grade 8
I was in this Chapel Band because my school is a Christian school, Anglican school
So I joined Chapel Band for community service hours because
if you reach a certain amount of hours, you get a badge on your blazer and all I really wanted was the badge
cause
my blazer was bald and I didn't like it so
Basically, I was singing in chapel band this one time
and we had solo singers which was with me and my two other friends
and we each had individual singing parts
so
we actually got together and practiced it and that's when I actually really enjoyed singing as a hobby back then
Now, I still really enjoy singing as a hobby as well but I want to pursue it more
but really got me into actually singing was probably k-pop, bts
and yea
Favourite genre in music?
I really like R&B or chill vibes and I really enjoy listening to ballads where like you know
emotional singing
I dunno I just really like it
Can you do a closet tour? I love your clothing style and I love you so much
I love you too
Honestly, I were to do a closet tour
(My) closet is literally filled with black, white and grey
I don't really think it's that interesting
If you guys wanna see a really boring closet tour then hit me up
I will do it but at the moment
I don't really know about that because my closet a literally like
the colour of my soul
Do you have a studio?
I wish.
and no I do not have a studio
I'm sorry
Next
Do you know any apps that can be downloaded on android that can also be a studio type?
I'm really sorry. I actually don't know because I've never used Windows
and I only use MacBooks
I'm sure if you search on Google, something will pop up
I'm really sorry I can't really answer this question
cause I can't technology
Yes, I am from the 1920's
I've only ever used MacBooks and Apples
I'm sorry
Which cover are you gonna do next?
That is meant to be a surprise
That is also an excuse of me saying that I have no idea what I'm actually going to cover next
and I'm just going to say that to cover up the fact that I actually don't know what I'm do next
That is it all for the questions I have today
Thank you guys so much for sending in your questions
I hope this helped you guys
record a singing video or something
because a lot of you guys said you wanted to record a singing video but you don't know how to do it
so I hope this kind of helped you a little bit, I guess...
Thank you guys so much for sending in your questions

¡HAZ CROSS BACK! / DO CROSS BACK! - Duration: 4:19.
Hello my dear rollers!
how are you today?
welcome one more Thursday to this channel
my name is Carito
and I hope you're having an excellent Thursday
today we're going to do a Freestyle Slalom trick
which belongs to level E, most basic level
and the name of this trick is "cross back"
or making crosses backwards
so let's start with this tutorial
but first give it like and subscribe to the channel
to know that you're liking these kind of videos
and now let's start with the video
ok, my dear rollers! Let's start
with this Freestyle Slalom trick
called "cross back" and first
we're going to do an exercise in 120cm cone line
between each cone
bend your knees and open your heels
and in the middle of the space between cone and cone
close your heels without crashing them
for not trip over
and we open our heels again
to pass the next cone
and we go like that all line
once you have under control this exercise
we will start doing the crosses
to really slow speed
so that you can measure the distance
and manage the movement
the only thing you have to do
is the first exercise which is pass the first cone
opening your heels and in the second cone
we will do the cross
pulling our right leg to the back
and pushing a little our left heel to the right
once you controlled in the 120cm cone line
we will move to the 80cm between each cone
to make it more technical and so that you can do it
in both cone lines without problems
only thing you have to do is have very well bended
your knees and your arms should be
on a diagonal to the right
as always when we're skating backwards
and we're having our right head to the right,
our glance should be to the right
and if we're skating to the left
so our glance shall go to that direction
in this case I'm doing it with my right leg back
so I'm always looking to that side
and watch well that I mark a lot
the "S" with both feet
it means that this exercise is a lot of heels
you have to focus a lot
that your heels are doing the
correct position
to the moment of opening and closing
for crossing and uncrossing
between the cones
don't forget the flexion of the knees
the position of the arms and the look
that is essential for this Freestyle Slalom trick
and remember a lot that is
a crossed cone and the next cone is a not
crossing cone or uncrossed as I normally called it
and we will go like that all cone line
in the moment we open our heels
is when I take some impulse
for making the cross
practice this exercise as many times as you consider necessary
and you will se that really soon
you will get this trick
and you will have it on your list
well my dear rollers!
this is all for today's video
hope you liked a lot this tutorial
write me down in the comments
if you knew about this trick
I mean, if you already know it or if you're going to start
put it down in the comments and also
let me a suggestion of video for this channel
don't forget to subscribe, give it like and
share this video with all your friends
remember that I let you my social networks here
and at the end of this video for being more close
I send you a kiss
and have an excellent day!

How Do I Deal with My Rebellious Teen? (2018) - Duration: 9:02.
(upbeat music)
- Welcome to the Straight Truth Podcast,
I'm Josh Philpot, your host.
As always I'm joined by Richard Caldwell,
the pastor of Founder's Baptist Church.
Our guest today is Ken Ramey,
the pastor of Lakeside Bible Church.
Here's a good question that all parents think about.
How do I handle a rebellious teenager?
What do I do?
- Well it depends.
It depends on whether were talking about
a rebellious teenager who's a believer,
or a rebellious teenager who is an unbeliever.
- So let's start with believer then.
- Well a believer you appeal to them
with the truth of God's Word.
And you appeal to their new nature.
And if they're truly a believer,
then they have eternal life, they have a new nature,
the Spirit of God dwells in them,
at the end of the day they are gonna be receptive to truth.
And so you speak the truth to them in love.
And you don't just speak the truth to them though,
you've go to live the truth before them.
We want to get to the root of where the rebellion
is being motivated.
Rebellion in any of us is not excusable.
It's sin.
We're talking about rebellion, right?
So it's sin.
But I do think there are things that contribute to rebellion
that we need to be open to and honest about.
So if my discipline of my teenager is over the top,
if it's harsh, that can encourage rebellion.
If my discipline toward my teenager is negligent,
there aren't clear parameters
and there's not clear guidance there,
that can encourage rebellion.
If I'm trying to get them to do something
that I'm doing just the opposite of,
so I'm teaching them one thing and I'm living another thing,
that can contribute to their rebellion.
So I want to examine myself first
and make sure that I'm standing in the right place.
And then, if I can say with a clear conscious,
not that I'm a perfect parent, but I'm a consistent one,
and striving to do what's pleasing in the sight of God,
then I'm just going to appeal to them
with the truths of God's Word.
And try to obviously you talk to them, you listen to them,
you try to find out what's motivating this.
But if they're a believer, I appeal to them with Scripture.
- What about unbeliever?
I guess in a lot of cases, a parent might not even know
if their child is believing or not.
- [Richard] Right.
So if you have two believing parents,
strongly part of a church,
and trying to raise their children
according to what the Scriptures say,
but they have a teenager that is rebelling in the home
and rebelling against parents, well what do they do?
- I agree with what you said earlier, Richard,
that whenever parents are dealing with a rebellious child,
I think the very first thing that they should do
is examine their own lives.
And it's not so much about the rebellious teenager,
is it about our responsibility to be pleasing to the Lord.
And so Scripture says that
the only negative command in the New Testament to parents
is do not exasperate your children.
And so have I contributed in any way
potentially to their rebellion?
And if there is any sins that we see in our lives
we should seek the Lord's forgiveness,
we should seek our child's forgiveness.
But beyond that, I think the other thing that is
vital for us as parents to keep in mind
is God's sovereignty.
That you could raise your kids
in the nurture and admonition of the Lord,
but there's no guarantee that they're gonna embrace Christ.
And so often our goal as parents
is that our kids would become Christians.
And our kids would be faithful followers of Christ,
which should be every parent's desire,
ultimate desire for their kid.
However, that is not the ultimate goal.
And bottom line is we're not in control of that.
And so I think too often we hold onto that principle
in the book of Proverbs, you know,
if you train your child in the way he should go,
when he's old he'll not depart from it.
And so many times I hear that quoted by parents
whose kids have veered away from the Lord
or have never come to Christ and just rejected Christ.
Well that's not necessarily true
in the sense of that's more of a principle,
and it may be, in fact, a bad interpretation,
because in the Hebrew it could actually mean
train up your child in his way.
In other words, let his have his way all the time,
and when he's old he'll continue to want his way.
That could be a better interpretation of that verse.
And the point is this, ultimately our children are God's.
And I think we've created a culture in church today
that good kids are the result of good parents,
or godly parents equals godly kids.
And that's not a guarantee.
I personally know of a family who the father
was an unbeliever most of his sons' growing up years.
He was an alcoholic.
He even spent time in a psychiatric hospital.
And both of his sons have ended up in seminary
and are pastors.
- And so that's how you do it. (laughs)
- And so it just was a reminder to me that,
you know what, it ultimately is God's sovereign
over the hearts of our kids.
And so rather than,
I think it is good to do some self examination,
but once you've done that
and confessed and repented of any exasperating type sins,
don't beat yourself up.
Trust the Lord that he has your kid's heart
under his sovereign control.
- That's good Ken.
And so the answer I think
for the parent who has the unbelieving child,
is you evangelize them.
You preach the gospel to them.
And my preach I just mean you converse with them
about the gospel.
You continue to present Christ to them.
You continue to pray for them.
I think we underestimate
the prayer aspect of it sometimes too.
The most powerful thing you can engage in outside of
conversations abour Christ, is just pray for them.
Pray for them, and then look for opportunities.
As the Lord opens doors
for you to continue to pour into their lives.
Love them.
I think it's important for them to know
that your love for them is love for them.
Too often parents parent for their own glory.
They're more concerned about their reputation
than they are about their child's soul.
And I've told parents before,
it wouldn't be easy to live through,
okay I'm not gonna say it'd be easy,
but if my reputation was trashed
and all of my children eventually came to faith in Christ,
I would take that.
Over a sterling reputation
and one my children is in Hell one day.
I'm not sovereign.
I cannot save my children.
But I will work for their salvation
in the sense of preaching the gospel, praying for them,
trying to live good before them, and loving them.
And outside of that, I can't control the outcome.
So we look to the Lord.

Recovering From Narcissistic Abuse And How Do You Cure A Broken Heart? - Duration: 23:14.
hey guys what's up so today I'm going to answer a very common question: Why me? Why me?
fucking narcissist fucker mother fucker
nobody loves like I love. How could they do this to me?
How could they do this to my heart? Don't they know what love means? We got a question from a viewer and I
have been known to address viewer questions and I want to address this one
because it really reflects a very... when it comes to narcissistic abuse it
reflects a common question that happens to all of us.
Marla writes: looks like you found your groove because I clearly understood
every word you said. By the way this is a follow-up video to a
previous video I did called Why Do Narcissists Target Lightworkers
we're gonna expand on that concept in this video but many concept this is a
multi-faceted video. You're gonna love this.
She continues, I am just really looking for a lot of answers and info. Everything
you say in your video I am going through sometimes I think, "why me?" See there it
is: why me? It would just be so much easier
to thank you. Well, thank you Marla! Thank you so much!
This is gonna be a real doozy and I'm gonna try to really tackle this because
I the thing I love about YouTube and doing these videos is I get to I get to
present perspectives that no one is talking about. That's what lights me on
fire when I do these videos is I get to talk about the thing that no one's
talking about. That's what I love to do I love to get really into a subject in
ways that no one's doing so here we go why me I know this is no light subject I
have experienced abuse in toxic relationships multiple times in my life
I had to go through a period of self-reflection and my own healing
process. Doing that inner work I was able to discover so many things that I
didn't see before.Things within myself things that you know things about
... blind spots
it was
it's been incredible. Back to that question of about feeling
especially like right after the breakup maybe you were discarded or maybe you
just discarded the narcissist before they discarded you it's always messy okay I
don't believe oftentimes and toxic relationships it's a messy
painful ordeal for both people and you should never assume that the other
person who hurt us has it easy.
... you'll understand. Why me? why you? Baby it's all about you. Deal with it. You probably didn't
want to hear that. I know when you've had your heart stomped on and it feels like
your heart's been through a cheese grater the last thing you want to hear is it's all
about you.
As a caveat, I want to make sure that everyone watching this understands that
we need to handle and treat this subject of narcissistic abuse or any abuse with
respect and care. I'm going to tell you why. If there's anything I've learned
throughout all these experiences of toxic abusive relationships its to never
underestimate
the people who hurt you the most. Never underestimate them because what I found
is they have been my greatest teachers of everybody. My greatest lessons in life
didn't come from sitting at the feet of some guru somewhere all right. It didn't
come from attending spiritual retreats and I have attended plenty of spiritual
retreats and you know in my life but that's not where my greatest learning
came from. My greatest learning came from the people that who hurt me. The people
who hurt me the most taught me my greatest lessons and that's why you want
to treat this whole journey and experience with great respect.
Never underestimate the person who hurt you the most now this may sound harsh
but I say this with love. I want you to really take what I'm about to tell you
and let it just wash through you.
When you say to yourself, "Why me? Oh God why me?
don't they know who I am?
How could they do this to my heart? Nobody loves like I do." When you say, "why me?",
basically what you're telling life is I don't have a fucking clue what this
whole game is about and frankly I'm drunk at the wheel.
If you think it's that person out there doing this to you... well I know it looks
that way that's only half of it. It takes two people to have a toxic relationship
two people. You can spare yourself so much pain and drama by doing the hard things
but they're the hard things that matter that are helpful all right. So much drama,
we can spare it. We can speed this whole process along and start getting to the
good shit right. We need to start looking at our own history and our own
tendencies all right. That's putting it mildly. I mean really sit down and look at this
shit journal every single day. Write in a
journal. Sure I had days where I I had to sit in a lot of pain alone.
But I learned to be okay with that to stop running from pain. To feel my
emotions. To for once love myself the way I wish someone
always loved me. It doesn't end alright. Life is a lifelong journey of
never-ending love ... self love for yourself so many lessons if you will journal and
just be with yourself and journal. I mean seriously, I know it sounds it
sounds ridiculous but most of my life if someone told me you know journal.. I
would be like "Pfff, what the fuck do I need to write in a journal for? What's
the point of that? I've got it all right here. If your pain is real if you're
really going through a lot of pain you'll do fucking anything. So, nothing is
off the table. It's time to really get serious about committing ourselves to
our own rescue. Yes it's gonna be YOU that gets you through this not YouTube
videos. You're gonna have to put together a self-care plan and that's gonna have
to become your new religion alright. And it should have always been your religion
self-care
that's a religion I can support 100% I want to offer you some technology ... some
hardcore gangsta technology
three pillars that I call my pillars for living a happy and fulfilled life. These
are going to be tools that you can use to guide you through it all
this isn't just healing from abuse it's being a fucking happy person. That's what
we all want to be happy but understand this is a fundamental understanding that
I believe every mature adult needs alright. What we think we want isn't
necessarily what we actually want much less need to be happy most of the things
we think we want we don't actually want or need for ourselves and a lot of those
a lot of the things we think we want are really based on toxic need they're not
really coming from our deeper authentic selves. They're not really
our authentic needs. And what you'll find is the more you heal the more your wants
and desires change the more you you see things in your life very differently.
Three master pillars of living a badass and happy fulfilled life, think of this
like your your Northstar. These are the the principles that you can
trace every other principle that is helpful of value they all trace back to
these fundamental three things all right. Very important for
attracting the right partner for you who will be attracted to you and important
for identifying the right partner when they show up.
So we have number one: 'Awareness'. Awareness that includes 'awareness of
self' and 'awareness of the world around us'.... people.
It's a double awareness ... goes both ways alright. Number two, is
'curiosity'.
Curiosity and inquisitiveness.
Number three, is 'appreciation and gratitude'. Appreciation and gratitude. Now
I want you to write these principles down in your journal all right. Yes your
journal. You're journaling remember, coz that's that's a fundamental part of your
self-care your religion is generally very important part of self-care. So
these three principles, integrate them make them a part of who you are. This is
your map all right. Awareness of ourselves and the world around us is
what is necessary to.... Jesus they're after you guys again. It's dangerous to go
through life without awareness of self in the world around
you. Lacking proper awareness is like literally it's like driving drunk. It's
like being drunk at the wheel. If you have a certain amount of self-awareness
you will probably this probably isn't your first toxic abusive relationship.
You've probably had a number of abusive toxic relationships in your life. There's
probably a pattern. If you're self-aware you will catch that. You'll recognize
them self-awareness and awareness of the
world around us is absolutely critical to survival. We need enough
self-awareness to not only see these patterns but we need another level of
self-awareness to take responsibility for our part in
the toxicity. You do have a part... we all do.
The most miserable people in the world are those who take a victim attitude
about the world, who externalize responsibility. I just dropped a
bombshell on your ass. Bet you didn't even see that coming! The happiest people
in the world take personal
responsibility. It's a way of thinking. It's a way of
approaching life all right. It's very juicy all right. It's very juicy and
delicious to blame the victimizer people who hurt us the most. It's very juicy and
delicious to be the victim in that. I know. But sometimes the hardest things
are what is needed all right. For the sake... you only have so much time on this
planet. Don't you think it's about time to stop wasting another second of your
fucking life - the best years of your fucking life - blaming this holographic
character on this hologram that we live in it is the Matrix Neo... Trinity. We
live in the Matrix. Stop blaming the hologram for your misery and take full
responsibility for your experience in life. That's the only way this game
changes all right. That's the only way this story gets better. We gotta take
responsibility for ourselves in our life even if you know even if
it may look like the other person you know is the one doing it.... You're an angel
you're your unicorn you're an angel who can do no wrong...
but if you can take just a little bit of responsibility, just a little part of
it, this whole game can be a lot different for you. Remember when I said
my greatest teachers were those who hurt me the most I mean that. I truly mean
that. And the only way I was able to heal was to entertain that notion. It's
the only way to grow and expand and really get the lesson from the
experience is taking some of the responsibility okay. The only way. When
you believe someone else did this to you, you put your whole journey and growth on
PAUSE. Awareness of others
is often what we what feels the best. You know, we love to talk about red flags and
that's very important all right don't go through the world naive all right. Don't
go through the world naive that your love map is the same as the person you
think you're in a relationship with. Don't assume you're operating by the
same love maps because you're not. If you've been through a toxic relationship.
Appreciation.... appreciation is
the powerful force and energy that aligns you with everything you could
ever dream of wanting. Appreciation is that force that aligns you with what you
want.
Appreciation is the most direct means of aligning with God within all of us.
I talked about this in previous videos. You want to heal? start feeling
appreciation and gratitude. It's a fastest way to heal from any
discord in your life is 'appreciation' So powerful! so damn powerful!
So what do we have, we have
'awareness' (self awareness and awareness of the world around you),
'curiosity' and 'inquisitiveness' and 'appreciation'. And with that cocktail you
have all the ingredients to be one badass motherfucking master.
Master of your reality. That's your map... your North Star. For everything else, you
can trace everything else back into those three. I hope what we talked about
today helped you. Now remember, self-care is your new religion in case you've been
neglecting that area of your life. Self-care self-care self-care self-care!
It's everything. Everything! Don't even think about wanting or entertaining the
thought of a relationship without self-care all right.
Self-care will solve so much bullshit you think you can't seem to get over,
get past. Self-care will take care of all of that shit all right. So go to the gym
you know
leave the cellphone at home, and enjoy moments with yourself... quality time
with yourself. Take yourself out on dates, hit the gym everyday, take care of
yourself. Journal.... meditate every day (at
least 30 minutes every day... All right my spicy enchiladas, we're gonna wrap up
this video now I hope you enjoyed! Now if you have a
question, something you would like me to discuss in a future video, leave me your
comment below. I would love to discuss your questions in the future video. Those
are my favorite videos to make it where I'm answering your questions so I would
really enjoy that. Also I want you to leave me a comment telling me what is
your self-care plan. What are you doing for self-care? I want to know. I really
want to know. All right, well with that I will see you
later and peace out Gator! bye bye! We like it being about us when we were
getting our way. We liked it when it was about us when in the honeymoon period of
the relationship.
We like it when it's about us when...
we don't like it when it's about us when the coppers are after you... you naughty
naughty...

What do recent eruptions at Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park mean? - Duration: 3:11.
THE NOTORIOUSLY FICKLE STEAMBOAT
GEYSER IN YELLOWSTONE
NATIONAL PARK HAS ERUPTED THREE
TIMES SINCE MARCH FIFTEENTH.
BEFORE
THAT IT HADN'T GONE OFF SINCE
SEPTEMBER OF 20-14. SO WHAT DOES
IT
MEAN? MTN'S JOHN SHERER REPORTS.
Park Employees: It's so loud,
there was such a tremendous
roar.
It sounds like a freight train
is moving through here.
JS Those are Yellowstone
National Park employees who
witnessed the last big
Steamboat eruption in
twenty-14. They described
seeing a plume of steam rising
from a distance, then, when they
got closer.
Park Employees: And we get down
to the lower platform and we
just start getting
drenched, raining sand and
silica.
JS This is what Steamboat looks
like right now. The eruption
last week
was a lot larger than this, but
still, not nearly as spectacular
as in the past.
Hank Heasler: A very robust
monitoring network is in place
in Yellowstone National
Park that monitors earthquakes.
And those monitors clearly show
the difference between Steamboat
20-18 and
20-14. (take chart) That's
twenty-14 at the top.
Seismologists say those
eruptions
were more than twice as big as
the ones this spring.
But that doesn't mean Steamboat
is small. In fact, it's a
monster, the tallest active geyser in
the world. Even those little
eruptions we've seen this spring
are ten times the size of a
typical Old Faithful blast. That
means back in 20-14 Steamboat
was more
than 20 times what you see at
Old Faithful.
But Old Faithful got its name
for a reason. You can
practically set your watch by
it. Not
so much for Steamboat. After 19-
11 it went to sleep for 50
years.
GFX Then it roared to life in
1961, picked up the pace in 62
and was spouting water at
a twice a month rate through
19-65.
Then it slowed back down and
eventually took a 9 year rest
before shooting
skyward again in 1982 and 83.
So what's going on? Well,
scientists know what heats
things up in Yellowstone.
GFX Hank Heasler: A mass of
very hot molten rock, moving up
towards the
surface. As it moves up it
starts to break the overlying rock.
JS: But what exactly causes
Steamboat to wake up and go
crazy at wild intervals?
Scientists have an easy
explanation. They don't really
know. There are
plenty of theories, but proof?
We're still waiting for that.
Still, most scientists who are
posting about thermal activity
in Yellowstone don't
think this is a prelude to a
volcanic eruption. They're not
convinced that the dreaded super
volcano is likely to awaken soon
and most say any activity is
likely to be small
scale. Sort of.
Hank Heasler: They may be even
as large as a Mount St. Helen's
eruption, or even much smaller
than that. Maybe an individual
vent that puts out a very nice
Hawaiian type basalt flow.
In the meantime, enjoy the water
and steam show.
Park Employees: It's an
experience unlike any other that
I've experienced.
Spectacular
It's amazing.
In Bozeman, JS for MTN News. ###
STEAMBOAT GEYSER IS PART OF THE
NORRIS GEYSER BASIN AND THE ROAD
TO NORRIS IS NOW OPEN FOR THE
SEASON. BUT, IF YOU RE TRAVELING
SOUTH FROM MAMMOTH YOU LL HAVE
TO DRIVE THROUGH SOME
CONSTRUCTION ON THE WAY.
