Youtube daily is it May 5 2018

Dunkin' Donuts is another franchise we get a lot of calls about.

A lot of people think they want to buy a Dunkin' - but is it a good investment?

How much does a Dunkin' Donuts Franchise Cost, and how much can I make?

Dunkin' Donuts is another one of those Iconic brands that often entices people just by virtue

of the huge name, to think it is the best franchise option out there.

Because surely this 12,000 location strong brand I see everywhere is the biggest moneymaker

out there.

Let's take a look.

We just got access to the brand new 2018 FDD for Dunkin' so all the numbers for today are

are as up to date as you can get.

The cost to open a Freestanding location ranges between $245,200 to $1,717,103 - and none

of these numbers include real estate costs.

A shopping center storefront is $228,621 to $1,202,880.

Setting up a Dunkin in a Gas or Convenience store location will range between $108,904

to $741,100 and that price will vary depending on whether the baked goods are actually made

on site.

There is also an APOD or Alternative Points of Distribution model which ranges between

$97,500 to $542,805.

These are non traditional locations like transportation terminals, casinos, colleges, military bases

etc.

Your ongoing fees will include what Dunkin' Donuts calls their Continuing Franchise Fee

5.9% of Gross sales, and a continuing Advertising fee of 5% of Gross,

Now Dunkin' Donuts was in the news not too long ago with allegations of racism, and generally

not being a nice corporation towards franchisees overall.

But is that true?

This New York Daily News article article claims a lady who purchased her Dunkin' franchise

with a partner was sued by Dunkin Donuts simply for offering a 15% ownership to a manager.

"They told Asam and me that not only would they force us to sell our stores within 30

days - offering us buyouts for half of what the stores were worth - we'd have to pay a

$100,000 "penalty fee."

The franchisee goes on to say "After talking to dozens of franchise owners just like us,

we learned that this was more than an unusual litigation binge.

This was a corporate strategy.

In order to compete with Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts has announced a plan to open 15,000

stores by 2016.

The NY daily News article goes on to say: Dunkin' Donuts has sued other franchise owners

154 times since 2006, this was written in 2008.

Over the same stretch of time, McDonald's was involved in five lawsuits.

And Subway, a company that has four times the number of locations as Dunkin' Donuts,

sued its franchises 12 times.

Now we can't be certain of the validity of this specific claim, and the Dunkin' Donuts

2018 FDD does not reflect the number of lawsuits suggested in that article however we were

able to access the 2008 FDD and sure enough there were dozens of lawsuits listed.

There is a sharp contrast between the 2008 and 2018 FDD's with many fewer lawsuits.

We can only speculate why this may be the case, maybe Dunkin' realized that these lawsuits

can really hurt a brand long term.

Look at Tim Hortons.

Now we always suggest that prospective franchisees do contact a large number of existing franchisees,

and their names will be included in your FDD, as well as speaking to those who left the

system.

Also pay close attention to the Litigation section of the FDD, which is Item 3.

So let's explore more recent litigation.

In Quebec 32 Dunkin Donuts franchisees sued Dunkin for deterioration of brand image, negligent

management, and basically not keeping up with the competition.

They won and were awarded $16.4 million which was reduced on appeal to $10.9 million . Most

of you probably heard about the discrimination lawsuit alleging Dunkin' Donuts would not

allow an Indian woman to open a third franchise.

That one was dismissed, and one other lawsuit alleging racism seems to be ongoing as of

the date of this video.

There are several lawsuits of Dunkin' suing its own franchisees but certainly nowhere

near the level we saw in past years.

There are also some in my opinion, rather funny class action lawsuits relating to Dunkin

' Donuts having allegedly engaged in deceptive advertising practices by trying to convince

consumers that it's products contain real blueberries or Maple Ingredients.

So they call the stuff blueberries and maple, guess what - not a single blueberry or maple

supposedly in it so Dunkin' is getting sued for fraud, unfair competition, deceptive advertising

and a bunch of other stuff.

A similar lawsuit against their Angus steak that is supposedly just a beef patty, Dunkin'

denies these allegations and will vigorously defend againts the lawsuits.

Next we will see someone suing because the bear claw was not actually a bear claw.

So the question everyone wants to know - how much can I make with a Dunkin' Donuts franchise?

Let's look at the FDD.

So Dunkin' actually has a really nice and clean Item 19 which breaks down stores by

regions, as well as by type of store.

We don't have enough time to look at every category so we'll just explore averages.

For example a freestanding non drive through in the Midwest will see about $894,916 in

average sales, a drive through restaurant in the Northeast will see about $1,400,932.

Shopping center storefront types are a bit lower between $835,906 and just over a million

($1,068,982), and gas and convenience sites between about $620,159 and $932,175.

Again I'm not doing justice to the numbers or regional breakdown and encourage anyone

who is interested in a Dunkin' Donuts franchise to check the FDD themselves to get a better

handle on their specific region and selected store type.

Now a million dollars may sound like a lot of money but how does that compare to other

franchises?

Well if we consult the QSR50, which is a great list comparing the top 50 QSR franchises and

Ill post that link down below, we see Dunkin' Donuts is 13 spots from the bottom sorted

by annual revenue.

Now the 2018 QSR50 is not yet available so we expect these numbers will change.

But from a revenue standpoint we see Chick-Fil-A way at the top at over 4.4 million in revenue

per store, and Baskin Robbins way at the bottom with only $237,000 per store.

Remember from that million comes your royalties, salaries, rent, taxes, and lots of other expenses.

So from a purely revenue standpoint Dunkin' Donuts is not near the top comparitively.

Growth is strong almost 1000 solo locations opened up in the past 3 years and many more

in the other categories.

So is Dunkin Donuts franchise a good investment?

Depending on your situation and most importantly your location, it could be.

We suggest investors always look at several franchises to compare all your options, maybe

even those outside of food franchises.

Don't forget to like and subscribe and if you need help finding or researching a franchise

give the expertys a call at franchise city.

[Unknown Figure] - Hello,

I am a federal agent from a unknown agency.

And, I know this isn't the best, attire, but I must keep my identity a secret

for reasons I'll later explain.

Now,

I'm recording this [stutters] message to warn the public that there's super criminals out there with unfathomable weaponry

loose on the streets.

Now, we've alerted the FBI,

and they're investigating the cause of this sudden lethal arms

that has been spouted upon.

And the reason that I sound so jumbled,

and-and [chuckles] not so-well professionalized,

is that,

they're after me.

And I might be dead in a few days, or a few minutes of recording this.

So I'm-even though I might be dead, I must keep the secret safe.

That is,

I cannot tell you.

But we are working on a solution to this problem.

And everyone here must be aware-

I think they're upstairs.

Oh God...

No Relationship is Personal - Mooji Satsang - Duration: 23:32.

how can a relationship not be personal

that's a good one let's start a little bit back from that because you say how

can relationship and not be personal well a life takes care of that because

is it possible that in your freedom do you stop being a father for instance or

a mother do you become less you stop feeling hungry do you lose appetite for

everything including food it could happen but largely that's not the case

so what life teaches us is that in in with with all of this this love this

universal love for universalization of love and peace and joy and it is great

that we have relatives it is great that you have a partner it is great because

if you didn't you may just think yeah you know I'm not attached to anything

but then you see okay but there's your family does it stand in the way of your

awakening there is we taught that before we go to the relationship between

intimate partners let's just start other forms of relationships also with your

workplace with your friends does it make a tremendous difference in some case you

may find some people who were your friends they don't feel so comfortable

with you they're coming less around that may

happen not necessarily but with the relationships that you cannot just walk

away from or maybe you tried some people feel you know like really right now I'm

not tied to anything let's try to step out of their life

it was also told that the great master sri nisargadatta maharaj as he was

coming in fully into his Awakening he felt he had to leave his family leave

his business and go live in the Himalayas like a sadhu which he tried

until he met one of the same students to his master and he said what are you

doing here this is my life now he said but it's not what it means you don't

have to leave everything in that way leave your attachments to them not

myself to leave the thing physically the thing itself is not the problem is the

attachments and somehow it brought up a deep understanding within him and he

returned home continued to run his little shop and have his family and do

all these things in fact it even makes things really authentic that can you

live in life as it is we don't think you know what I see disturbs me what I hear

disturb me when I taste disturb me everything disturb me because I don't

exist or whatever it is so there is something in that I'm very happy you

brought this question because I think it would be very valuable for a lot of

people then in what way is it possible that one can have particularly an

intimate relationship and I would say that relationship you have with your

children with your parents or whatever with your spouse or whatever that they

are very intimate and they call up this which may feel like a challenge for a

while how did Krishna and Radha get on

you see there are examples of that love how did it happen

well beautifully beautifully but not work it out here somehow within that

within that great field you will continue in your dynamic expression in

life can have a kind of an ordinary extraordinary Ness about it you see and

in fact you will your relationships will improve because you will not be able to

tolerate the things which are not not true you get to them more quickly and

you're less willing to stay in a situation where you're just suffering

suffering and because but you're so needy you can't let go something is more

clear it's more power more brightness inside you and the whole thing if you're

in a genuine relationship where you're both growing know you'll find that it's

a tremendous power there to contribute to each other's growth they say that the

husband becomes the Guru of the wife and the wife is the Guru of the husband

because you're called by the same voice something something develops and it can

be really enriching there is there is a non duality inside the duality it's like

the stillness inside the movement there's the the oneness inside the many

nests the invisible inside the visible there's a harmony that cannot be figured

out by the intellect of the person but only in the intellect of the being

somehow it works otherwise it would mean that as soon as one really wake up you

vanish basically because you know duality offensive

duality is not offensive it's not offensive it's actually and you cannot

have experience without duality including the experiencing of awakening

so there is something there what will happen is that with personal

relationships it's a god design actually because it's also designed to reach

other places that other relationships cannot reach and expose your deepest

fears and attachments they will come up it's not only for that okay it can feel

like it's primarily for that you know but it will show I mean because you know

if you are by yourself in that kind of way you can say well yeah you know

nothing challenges this but in relationships and that especially

intimate relationships often trigger in the human being where our hidden dreams

are still alive or projections our you know design a

relationship fantasies are still alive our tendency to project or to control is

still alive and it will bring them up to the surface for them to be just like if

you have an an earthquake at the bottom of the ocean a lot of bubbles come up

they don't go down they come up they touch the surface they pop and disappear

and in the same way it will happen and can happen does not always happen

sometimes we caught hope and you go to next relationship but it brings up

things that if you are genuinely in search of truth it will bring those up

to the surface there is something beautiful about love there's a piece

about love there is a more space for tolerance and for

introspecting because it will provoke those tendencies those tendencies may be

latent in the person who is just by himself also does not mean that you

should go find a relationship to find them everything has its season if you're

by yourself you can't find a partner right now try and find the gift of being

alone because when you find a partner's you're gonna wish oh my god I did have

those days when I was revealing you see so learn to value all the different

stages that life bring you see and don't try to be perfect in your in your role

in the sense of the human personal role don't try to be perfect there are no

perfect personalities even amongst the sages okay and you will also experience

in life that you can try to do the best you can somebody will just hate you

you know like Christ said they hate me for no reason don't think that being a

nice person is going to secure people liking you like this there's no single

being who's ever loved by everyone including God okay so just be true

inside and you have discovered for me the most important discovery in the

human Kingdom you're discovering your isness which is not which has taken us

out of the forest of of confusion and conflict and distance and darkness and

selfishness and to be identified with that when we didn't know better we we

were swimming in our mud stream and now you're again in the in the expansiveness

of being you don't have to scratch your head so much about life Ramakrishna said

something very beautiful he said the mind is like a stream a very

shallow stream with mud very close to the surface if you wish to drink clean

water scoop lightly go too deep and everything becomes mad and when we are

functioning from the person mud is very close to the surface

we are very protective because we feel vulnerable the state of personhood is

easily vulnerable and selfish as you come back into the immensity of being

those personal things within yourself and subsequently in the apparent selves

of others become less irritating for you less of a fighting point for you you're

mad you're back in your globality you're back in the wider love you're not

perceiving so personally so back to the question again where's the place for

that intimate relationships in freedom does it mean that we should all leave

home and go off as shadows and live in caves and things a net or whatever live

by yourself now because it's just impossible to live with someone if it is

impossible to live with people when you're free unless it is your power up

the Karma which means that it's just what is designed for your life now some

people it is fine to be alone you don't have to have a partner you see if you

feel happy on your own this absolutely nothing wrong with that beautiful if you

find that you cannot stick in one place you keep moving about for a while that

is how your life will feel I can only recommend that you discover and through

the invitation on this this vastness within yourself that that

includes it's not exclusive its all-inclusive includes all of life but

seen from a new perspective so it is possible very much and can be a

beautifying and enriching it can be also an avenue to which greater love and

greater understanding maybe just chew the way in which you interact and grow

in your relationship may actually open up your mind and heart to the wider

field that there's a love in you that is capable of embracing the entire universe

in fact these words are not too big for you when you hear them inside the isness

if you hear them as a person thing whoa that's all for of course from the sense

of a person you may say you know it has been written in the scriptures you know

love your neighbor as yourself love the Lord your God with all your heart your

mind your soul and your strength and love your neighbor as your own self is

the two greatest commandment which was set in the words of Jesus Christ and

people trying I try to love everybody and largely successful my neighbor next

door clean I can't fit them in and if you love from this person I'll try to

love try to love to love this is impossible if you're trying to love from

your person but if you discover the love that arises and that is inherent in

beingness in the isness it is not personal when it's not personal it flows

beautifully is it possible to have a relationship without attachments it's

challenging it is challenging it is even said that a

sage once had a son and somehow he sent his own son to another sage for him to

recognize because of the relationship the son could not appreciate the father

as being a sage sometimes these things can happen that your partner may not be

in synchronicity with you you're already more deeply into your own spiritual

journey maybe they are not that's a challenge you will have to face if you

are not trying to demonstrate your understanding and you can come from

understanding it is possible to be in relationships where you're very

different in your outlook and you meet in a common ground of love their

relationships right now that I know are flowing sometimes even better than

people who are in the same together anything the life it cannot be figured

out you cannot fit it in any mode he will just every time you think I got

it it will put a custard pie in your face it will be so largely we are

talking about the relative and we are trying to speak as though there's an

absolute in a relative and the life is showing you no no no no don't go so

tightly into form stay in your formlessness you can use

every concept if you don't lock them tight there must be space that things

can change that things can change some people feel that the more tight

their hold onto their concepts the more established and more dependable they can

be that's the falseness concepts they come and go

like the clouds come and go there are some things that they help you to see

much more deeply into the nature of the self make use of them but don't make any

tattoos out of anybody teaching make use of the teaching find

what it is pointing to or discard it if it doesn't resonate deep within your

heart leave it alone but don't leave anything in spite beware

of cynicism and watch the mind because it is quick to judge and even to condemn

those who appear to be different from you in your global heart you can

celebrate the differences knowing that there are just the expressions and

knowing that we are one in essence you will not be afraid of the sense of other

the sense of other is a an enrichment a beautifying another aspect in which the

self manifests and we grow like this true anger and pain and laughter and all

of this and that is the the compost before the spiritual mind you will grow

in that so I find no conflict in relationships and so on in fact I feel

that they stand a greater chance to improve and to grow out of their little

nests to grow into beautiful ways but if you are trying to grow as a person

you're gonna find more challenges grow in the beingness grow in the isness

but person of course in the dynamic field there are things that you will

have to face in life and the human side the person side that that that energy

will keep on you know it is very difficult to overcome certain things but

as you keep staying in in the Isthmus your interest in them will fail and if

the thing fades in interest for you it doesn't register in consciousness

anymore and for you effectively experientially it cease to exist it's

not that the thing in itself fade but your interest in it fades and the most

powerful thing that can happen in you towards the without called

mind attacks is that the mind becomes in its psychological expression becomes

insignificant for you its voice its attractions become insignificant for you

because you found a greater thing you found a space of being so we don't have

to try and be perfect but honor the truth in your heart that is already a

kind of perfect thing if I may could you speak some illuminating words upon

intimacy and the body mind can there be intimacy without the body mind sex

without the body mind

can be nicer why not when you all the things if we put them also in the in the

realm of the senses and sensations and so on when you wake up do you less enjoy

eating do you less enjoy the things of life it can be there but the obsessions

go the neediness go supposing by waking up we all wake up and basically I met

one time in United States I think we're going in the States and we were brought

to I was introduced to one group and they were a spiritual group but they did

not believe in in insects basically so where are they we don't know

they gradually faded out I wonder why I don't know but and so if the purpose of

awakening is to is basically to stop proliferating in the in the realm of the

manifest then that would be the will of God but I don't want how will it be

your family you have a child come in and then you have this thing although it's

bad it's bad it's not bad everything is fine the goodness and the badness exists

in you it is in the way in which you perceive it is not outside it's easier

to say outside the unknown which put so much energy to try and change the

outside Ness and not learning that it's reflecting on the inside Ness and to

clean your house from inside as the Lord said himself don't keep saying you know

two people law you know let me take the dirt from your eye first while you

yourself as big dirt in your own eye so remove the dirt from your own eyes and

you'll be seeing clearly enough to see if there's dirt in the other side and so

like this so it is like that I find no fault you see the point in I say

obsessions neediness will again come from person and the distortions within

personhood give rise to excessive neediness and you know addictions and

all of these things which don't beautify they may intensify the sense of passion

but they don't be defined they don't lead to genuine a penis they don't lead

the lead often to abuse and blindly also so everything comes right in the field

of the isness you honor that and you see how beautifully it is harmonizing every

other aspect or facet of your expression is touched and and and elevated from

that central discovery

you

NLP - Is It Possible To Discover Your Life's Purpose In Under 5 Minutes? - Duration: 8:53.

is it possible to discover your life's purpose in under five minutes stay tuned

this is a Damon Cart from NLP Gym discovering your life's purpose in under

five minutes if you haven't already please click subscribe to this YouTube

channel so you can get these videos on a regular basis

it seems pretty amazing to think that you could discover your life's purpose

and three minutes five minutes seven minutes but I was looking on YouTube to

see what was being offered on this subject and the first top videos which

means those are the videos that people are watching the most were videos making

claims that you could find your life's purpose and discover your life's purpose

and sometimes under five minutes as little as three minutes sometimes seven

minutes and I was looking at that I was thinking is that really possible can you

really do that and the question is not a great question to tell you the truth and

the answer is a pretty unsatisfactory answer there's a yes to it and there's a

note to it but for but it's really hard to come up with a good question

regarding this because this is obviously something that's very important to us

meaning and purpose in life and feeling like we even matter this is really

important and that's what gets us caught in this question of what's my life's

purpose and then the reason why it's not a great question is because it implies

that your life's purpose is sort of somewhere out there for you to find and

that it's like a thing so I have to go out there and find my life's purpose and

then take it home with me and even though there might not be exactly what

you're consciously thinking when you ask that question but it's it's what it

implies and what it implies often has unconscious implications to it so that's

kind of how we think about it now like I said this is obviously something that's

important to people we need the film we need to feel like we matter we need to

feel like what we do has meaning we need to feel like our life

has purpose and even people like Viktor Frankl wrote about this you can almost

get through anything man can get through so much suffering if he or she feels

like their life has meaning and purpose so he in his situation he was talking

about the Holocaust the Holocaust and he was in a concentration camp and he was

able to find meaning and purpose and even happiness in a concentration camp

that's pretty amazing but it just goes to show you with the

human condition it tells you something about the human condition we've all had

the experience of feeling like our life doesn't have meaning or it doesn't have

purpose and this is really what cults pretty on people who feel like they have

no meaning in their life and they have no purpose because people who feel that

way are often in search of something and they're very vulnerable to being

manipulated so here comes this group of this cult and gives them some sense of

meaning and purpose or they are told you matter to us and the Guru makes them

feel special in some way and those people will often defend the the

movement that occult the system whatever it is to the death because they would

rather die than give up the meaning of their life or the purpose of their life

there are definitely times where you felt like your life had meaning and

purpose and it also probably felt like it was quite fleeting and capricious as

soon as you tried to get your hands on it it slipped down like a slimy fish

it's when we've had those feelings of meaning and purpose we often want to

hold on to it but it still goes away anyway and we're like you know what just

happened what many people will do is because it seems to be fleeting and I

can they don't it doesn't seem to be coming from within or if it comes from

within they don't really they can't get a handle on it they will seek outside

means feeling like they have meaning and purpose and value in their life so here

it is the under five minutes yes answer to finding your life's purpose you will

find your life's purpose in what you value it is really that simple so why

isn't everybody doing it because most people's values are deeply unconscious

that it almost seems like it's hidden from them and again this is why meaning

and purpose seem to be seem to come and go so quickly is because when you

experience it you don't know why you're experiencing it I can tell you why

you're experiencing it because for those moments or even days weeks or months

your behavior your attitude and your mindsets are aligned with your highest

values when that happens meaning purpose your life mattering all of that will

happen immediately and automatically it just happens why well because you are

aligned in your congruent with what you value most so it couldn't really be any

other way now the mystery is about this is then again most people don't know

what their values are if they knew what their values were then they can align

themselves better to it or they could they could be more conscious about doing

it and they could also know hey we mind when I start to feel that feeling of my

life is meaningless and purposeless well I know I'm not aligned with my values I

need to go back okay what are my values and what am i doing in my life to align

with them so it's more of a doing rather than a being and it's about knowing what

those values are and aligning yourself to it when you break your own rules when

you act in a way that is opposite to what you value yeah you feel down about

yourself you your life could feel meaningless and that's a scary place to

be like I said we've all done it before we've all been there

what is the purpose of my life was something I was a question that I that I

was plagued with until I started learning NLP and then I learned about

value solicitation and then later when I learned Steve Andreas' self-concept

model I really learned why this was so important and his his take on it is that

this is where self esteem is created and of course that is true but I would go

further than that and say this is where fulfillment has created this is worth

purpose is created this is where your life starts to take on a feeling of

meaning and that you matter eliciting your your values knowing what they are

aligning yourself to it realizing that when you're not acting in that way or

you're acting opposed on a win it opposes your values that is what makes

fill down that's what makes you feel meaningless so you're not going to find

your life's purpose at the end of a workshop you're not going to find it

during a spiritual quest or at the end of a spiritual quest you don't have to

do crazy things to prove yourself or to a guru you don't have to walk on hot

coals to find your life's purpose it's already there in here you just need to

discover what it is you value and when you realize what that is and you align

yourself to those values there's not even a question of what's my purpose or

does my life matter or does my life have meaning it doesn't even come up really

because you're you're in it you're doing it it's just natural you're feeling it

it's kind of like flow when you're in flow you don't question am i doing this

right or am i doing this when all you're just simply doing it check out my

website NLP-Gym.com follow me on Facebook for real-time updates on

upcoming talks and I'm doing or workshops or even online trainings that

I'm launching also if you haven't subscribed to this channel yet please

subscribe right now so you can get these videos on a regular basis and if you

you'll notice there is some free NLP training especially for people who

aren't sure if they want to do NLP training or if they want to actually pay

for a workshop or an online training this is a great start so I have sensory

acuity and calibration training which is a foundational skill and learning NLP

unfortunately a lot of NLPers when they start learning NLP they jump past

that foundational skill is something you learn in the beginning but it has to be

Can you workout your abs everyday?? - Shape It Up (Nicole Simonin) - Duration: 1:25.

(Nicole Simonin) Hey Nicole from Shape It Up and I got a quick question for you today.

Can you work out your abs every day??

The short answer is yes. Yes, you can work your abs out every day.

I would not recommend it. You do need to take a day off.

but your abdominals are endurance muscles so they can take a lot. You can do them every day.

Take a day off one day a week. Make sure you stretch them out.

You can check out a video here on how to stretch out your abs.

So here's the caveat... do not be fooled into thinking if you do your ab exercises every day that you're

gonna magically have a 6-pack of abs. You are not. Having a 6-pack of abs does

include having strong abdominals but you need to be at a lower body fat

percentage in order for those abs to show through.

Check out that video on how to get your abs leaner.

You can work out your abs every day... take a day off once a week

and listen to your body. If your abs are sore, give yourself a day off... come

back to it the following day.

All this month on the Shape It Up Channel, we are focusing on your abdominals.

Make sure you subscribe and hit that little bell for notifications

and you will find out when the next Shape It Up video is out.

Remember to Get Fit. Be Fierce. And Have No Limits!... and I'll see you in the next

Why is it so hard to sit down and study or work - Duration: 4:45.

There are days, weeks and sometimes even months where your desire to do something productive

is barely existent.

Theres a possibility that you're having a depression episode, but most likely you

aren't, because you're not sad, you're just not feeling compelled enough to get up

and do stuff, stuff that maybe not today, but surely in the future will contribute to

a better life for you, or maybe even for your family and society.

And to properly understand the reasons and solutions to this problem, we need to have

a better understanding of the underlying processes that are taking place when we talk about motivation.

If you're hungry that's not just a simple drive that's pushing you to get something

to eat, it's more of a subpersonality that has a goal, it has a bunch of action patterns

related to that particular goal, and it organizes your emotional responses around that goal.

We can look at it from another perspective.

We could say that motivation set goals, and emotions track progress towards goals.

Generally speaking motivation determines what your aim is, so if you are thirsty you are

going to aim at something to drink, and that will automatically alter your perception so

you zero out everything that is not relevant to that goal.

Once you start to focus on the few things that will guide you forward, your emotions

start to track your progress, so when you encounter those things that facilitate your

movement forward, that produces positive emotions.

On the other hand when you encounter some kind of threat, or blockage between you and

your goal, that produces negative emotions, and that can be anger, disappointment, grief

and so on.

And if you experience some of the more powerful negative emotions like pain for example, that

can cause you to abandon your goal and turn back.

So why is it so hard to get up and do stuff.

And it might be that you just don't have any goals, it might be that you're aiming

at nothing.

So no aim, equals no emotions, which equals no neurochemical fuel to keep you going.

Your case might not be exactly the same, but it is a pretty accurate scenario.

And you might ask, how do you fix that?

Well you need to sit down and set your goals.

See, If you observe a starving rat in cage and it knows it has food at the end of a corridor,

if you put a little spring attached to his tail, you can measure the rats motivation

by measuring how hard the rat pulls, you can measure the displacement of the little spring,

and that will give you a quantization of the motivational force of the rat.

What's more interesting is, if you set up the same scenario with the rat trying to get

to some food and you spray some cat odor behind it, the starving rat would pull even harder,

because it it starving and he really wants to get the hell away from there.

So getting away and and getting somewhere are two distinct motivational systems, and

if you can combine them together then you can make a really powerful motivational force.

And you can start by sitting down and writing your perfect future, and also the possible

hell you want to avoid.

Let's say for example you're not motivated to work out.

You can start by imagining how perfect and healthy your body would be if you only started

to work out for 30 minutes a day, you can then imagine the clothes fitting you perfectly,

your posture, your health, stamina etc.

You can write everything down, you can write about the positive mood and outlook on life

you adopted since you started to work out.

Then imagine the opposite, imagine you being overweight, your IQ dropped because you didn't

exercise or had optimal body weight, so naturally your IQ decreased as you aged.

Imagine going to the doctor and he's telling you that you have an increased chance of heart

attack.

Imagine feeling anxious and depressed, without any self confidence or motivation, stuck being

overweight forever.

And that's a pretty terrifying future as far as I can tell.

Then once you do this, you can sit down and negotiate with yourself.

You can ask yourself, what would you want in return if you would work out for 30 minutes

a day for the next week.

That can be a walk in the park, a beer with your friends, playing video games like whatever

gets you excited, and then agree on that contract with yourself.

This reward, combined with the visualization of the ideal future and possible hell, is

going to produce a high level of motivation and drive to get you started on fixing the

dimensions of your life that need to be fixed.

Now, you have the knowledge, you know how emotions and goals contribute to your motivation,

you know techniques to combine two distinct motivational systems, and you know that you

need to negotiate instead of punishing or tyrannizing yourself.

So my advice is, do the visualisation, write your goals, get up do stuff.

Because If we all get our act together collectively, then maybe we can make this world just a little

bit better for all of us.

Is a $700 Gaming Laptop Worth It? - Duration: 7:42.

- Hey guys, this is Austin.

When it comes to gaming laptops

when you go below $1,000 typically you have to deal

with a lot of compromises.

Take the Acer Aspire 5.

It's $600, I've been incredibly impressed with this laptop.

And sure it's not going to be the most powerful thing

in the world, but it delivers a ton for the money.

Step up to something like the Dell Inspiron 7000 series

and for $800 you are going to be getting

a ton more performance

but you're still going to be lacking

the fun toys at the higher end laptops.

At $700 though the ASUS TUF FX504 looks like it

could be the perfect sweet spot.

At least on paper.

Let's see how it actually stacks up though.

At first glance it looks pretty decent

so they're definitely going

for the whole gamer aesthetic with the red accent

and the fake brushed metal which I will mention

is entirely plastic.

Now something that ASUS claims on Amazon

and well pretty much

in all the marketing material this is

a thin and light laptop weighing in at only five pounds

and one inch thick.

But I mean (laughs) thin and light this definitely is not.

You're gonna notice this guy in your backpack.

This is one

of those cases where I actually feel like

the laptop looks better on video than it does in person.

Now the idea of having brushed metal is nice

but honestly it feels very plasticy.

And that comes across the stuff like the screen.

So I mean if you just do a little bit

of flexing here, it doesn't really inspire a lot

of confidence.

Especially considering that this is going to be

a $700 laptop.

Speaking of the screen, it's exactly what you

would expect at this price point.

So it's going to be a 15.6 inch 1080p panel

and it's going to be pretty much mediocre.

Now sure, the resolution is going to be decent.

When it comes to the color

and especially the contrast it's not going

to be particularly accurate or particularly contrasty.

And on top of that as soon

as you get it even remotely off-axis

the viewing angles fall off

and even though it does get bright

when you start to crank up

that brightness it washes out even more.

It's going to be fine

but at $700, it would be nice to see a little bit

of an upgrade.

iPhone X is the most expensive iPhone ever.

It has a bigger screen, smallest bezels.

Speaker wise is actually going to sound pretty decent.

It does have a pair of speakers

that are going to be on these sides

so it's not going to be quite as good

as something that's going to be on

the decklid facing directly toward you,

but it's a lot better than most laptops

that fire down into well whatever it is you're sitting on.

Now the keyboard is going to be backlit

in the same red that's all over the laptop

and there's some good stuff with it.

So I do think it actually has

a really nice layout and I was able to get up to speed

with it almost immediately.

However there's a lot of key travel and it kind

of feels a little bit mushy.

It's maybe not quite as precise as I would like,

but kind of splitting hairs here.

For $700 laptop there's really no complaints.

We've also got a decent track pad.

So it is using Windows Precision drivers and

while it's not going to be the biggest trackpad

in the world, again it's totally fine.

What isn't so great is the port selection.

We have a pair of USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, HDMI as well

as ethernet.

That's going to be fine.

Those are going to be the essentials.

What you are losing are things like

an SD card reader, USB-C, Thunderbolt support.

It's going to be pretty basic here.

Don't let the looks fool you, even though this

does look like a premium laptop,

the build quality is only going to be so-so.

However it is clear

that ASUS spent the money on the internals.

What really drew me to

the FX504 is the Core i5 8300H inside.

Now this is one

of the new eighth gen 45-watt H series processors

that are coming out in laptops.

If you guys caught my videos that I did last month

where I took a look at all

of the new chips including

the new i7s and i9s, you know this is

actually really exciting.

This is the first time

in a long long time

that gaming PCs are getting

a major update on the laptop side.

Where the Core i7 and Core i9 are jumping up

from four cores to six cores,

the new Core i5s are adding hyper-threading.

Essentially giving you four cores and eight threads.

Very similar to what you used to be able to get

in the last generation Core i7s.

There that's simple right?

The idea of having a cheaper computer that's on par

with a Core i7 gaming laptop

from last generation is exciting.

And as you'll be able to see it is

a step up, however it's not going to be perfect.

Take a look at the benchmarks

and you'll see this is going to be

a step up over the last generation i5

although it's not going to be a massive leap.

And what comes close to

the i7, the low 2.3 gigahertz base clock actually

does hold it back a bit here.

Paired with the i5 is the GTX 1050 GPU.

This is actually going to be

a pretty decent performer at 1080p

as you guys will see a little bit later

in the gaming section and if you stack it up to some

of the other competitors including the 1050 Ti

in the Dell as well as the MX150

in the Acer, you'll see it slots right in there

as you would expect at the price.

Remove about 12 screws to get at the inside the laptop,

and you'll see there's actually going to be a fair bit

of space here.

So first of all you're going to see our eight gigs of RAM.

You can expand that to 16 gigs pretty easily or 32

if you really want to go all out,

and you're also going to find an M.2 drive slot.

Now that is

because this only has a one terabyte hard drive.

Mind you it is going to be an SSHD

so it is going to be faster especially

when it comes to things like Windows.

However if this is going to be my everyday system,

I would definitely install a full SSD in this guy.

The battery is going to be

a fairly small 48 watt-hour cell

so don't expect to do hours and hours

of gaming on this guy.

What you can do is well, not overheat.

This is going to have two cooling fans

as well as a pair of heat pipes

for the CPU and the GPU.

That combined with the heat sinks on

the back should keep this fairly cool under

extended gaming sessions.

Just remember to bring your charger.

Get into some gaming and first

of all we have Rocket League.

Now here at 1080p on high settings we're getting

a pretty impressive hundred frames per second.

Rocket League is not exactly

a demanding game especially

with the GTX 1050 inside it is absolutely no problem.

Next up we have everyone's favorite, PUBG.

Not like people play any other game these days.

So oh if I don't get shot.

We have 1080p low settings here and with

that we're getting somewhere between 50 to 60

frames per second.

If you do want higher settings, you will

sacrifice some framerate so if you're okay with 30

you can probably go up to medium.

But for me I like having something that's going to be

a little bit smoother and this is again totally playable.

It's almost like when you spend $700 on

a laptop you're able to play games at reasonable settings.

Amazing right?

Moving on to everyone's actual favorite game,

we have Fortnite.

Now here on 1080p on medium settings we're getting

a still very impressive 75 to 90 frames per second.

I think this is really a good example of the kind of game

that is really meant for a system like this.

I mean sure you're not running it epic settings

like 300 frames per second, but

for most people I would say the vast majority

of people a medium 1080p experience that's going

to be running at this high

of a frame rate is going to be more than good enough.

Moving on to a game that's going to be much

more demanding, we have Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

Now here at 1080p on low settings we're

still hovering around the 60fps mark.

Again you can bump some settings up to medium

if you want a little bit

of a better graphical experience but

if you really do want to get

that 60 frames per second, you're able to get it

in pretty much any game at 1080p.

Providing you turn things down a little bit.

This laptop is kind of in a weird position.

On one hand, for $700 the performance is really impressive.

Getting that new eighth gen Core i5 processor paired

with the GTX 1050 allows it to really handle

1080p gaming very easily.

But at this kind

of price, the trade-offs do start to add up.

So stuff like the build quality and

the screen I can mostly overlook,

when it comes to the SSHD, that's

where I start to have real problems.

For $700, I don't want to deal

with a slow hard drive making Windows feel

super super slow.

The fact that it's

in SSHD helps some, but I would much prefer to find

a full SSD like you would find in the Aspire or the Dell.

At the end of the day, there are options

that are going to be cheaper and better in some ways

and there are going to be options

than a little bit more expensive and better

in pretty much every way.

It's an interesting laptop, there's a lot that I like

with it, but it's kind of hard to recommend at this price.

If only, if only they had an SSD.

I know you guys are really tired of me complaining

about SSDs but you need an SSD in a computer in 2018 okay?

Especially when you're spending $700.

Anyway let me know what you guys think about the ASUS

in the comments below,

as always there will be

a link to this guy to check it out over on Amazon,

and I will catch you in the next one.

What is Google Chromecast Audio and How Does Google Chromecast Audio Work? - Duration: 5:15.

So I get a number of questions about the Chromecast series in general, and what I

wanted to do today was actually answer: What is Google Chromecast Audio, and how

does that work? So if you're looking for a little bit of

information. You've seen this device in stores or online, and you want to

understand those things, then let's get going.

So the first question "What is Google Chromecast Audio?" is relatively easy to

answer. This is what you'd call a dongle device, or just a very small device that

you plug into the wall via a USB cable, that then goes into a USB power port, and then

is powered through that. Then from there, you have a 3.5 millimeter speaker

connector on the Chromecast Audio dongle itself, and then that 3.5 millimeter

speaker cable goes into any speaker with a 3.5 millimeter input. Now obviously you

could take that 3.5 millimeter speaker connector you have here, and then you

could convert it using a number of, just either Y type connectors, or

stereo to RCA, or whatever you have for a speaker. So you could do that and it

would actually pump in the sound into whatever type of speaker you wanted.

Now that's what the Chromecast Audio physically is. How does it work is a bit

more of an interesting discussion. what you'll essentially need is the Google

Home application, an account with Google, and once you have those two things on,

say an iPhone or an Android device, (you can use a tablet whatever you want)

really once you have that application, you're going to be able to cast

different sources of audio to the speaker that is

connected. So you will essentially be able to, through Wi-Fi in your home,

connect any speaker to your Wi-Fi, and therefore all of these different sources

of either music or podcasts or whatever you'd like to listen to. Going a little

deeper into how it works. It's essentially going to connect to wifi, the device

itself has a little wireless transmitter and receiver. It's going to receive

information through your internet at home, so you will need Wi-Fi, and then

from there it's going to transmit the audio signal it's pulling through

whatever Google Home service or Google Play service. Such as Spotify or any of the different

music services you can push through your Google Home application. It's going to

receive it onto the dongle, and then push

it through the 3.5 millimeter speaker cable out to your speaker. So it really

just allows you to create multi-room audio.

Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to give you a demonstration next to a

number of Google Home devices that I have. I'm going to use Google Play Music

to control all three of these speakers and I've actually placed my Chromecast

Audio into a group so that all three will play at the same time. This is how

the device works, and obviously if you need a demo and you want to see how it works I

have another video for that and I'll put it up in the top right, right now, for you

to go ahead click on and go watch how to set it up.

*music*

*music*

Other than that, I think this gives you a good overview of what the device

does, and how it works. If you have any other questions, of course leave those in

the comments below. Otherwise, thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.

What is Eczema and How Is it Treated? - Duration: 2:34.

Atopic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition.

That first word atopic, which means atopy and the tendency to develop allergies.

What that means is that inflamed skin is often driven by an allergic trigger.

The majority of people will develop it before 5 years of age and especially during the first

year of life, but we do see adult onset eczema.

Symptoms of Atopic Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is characterized by skin that is dry but also appears inflamed.

So that the skin is red and can have other signs of inflammation such as oozing, crusting,

thickening of the skin and we wouldn't see that just with regular dry skin.

This can result in disturbed quality of sleep and can also result in other symptoms such

as increased anxiety and depression.

Triggers can include environmental allergens and in a small percentage of patients, food

allergens may also trigger atopic dermatitis.

This is more common in young children and not very common in adolescents and adults.

Treatment Options for Atopic Dermatitis

Moisturize every day.

It's really important to use a cream or ointment rather than lotion and use it once

or

twice daily.

The Truth about Bone Broth- What is it Good for Health Benefits - Duration: 3:26.

The Truth about Bone Broth

bone broth has hit the big time

for proof just check out our recent review of the Coachella of bone Brass that took place in New York City this winter

or head online where the staff is beyond tipping point with Paley L. Peters trendy chefs food blockers and everyone in between all who

have helped push the term bone broth up to near one million hits on google have one 10th the activity of coconut water

that getting their Hui say despite the fanfare of bone broth is no more and novelty then sliced

bread both are simply marketing variations of a dietary staple

bone broth is just soup stock prepared the same way it has been for millennia by boiling animal or fish bones until they liquefy and

release minerals gelatin and college and the main difference between bone broth and soup stock is that the former is cooked longer

or for at least 12 hours

which some believe causes less degradation of nutrients and makes the broth the beneficial healing food

but as NPR reported in February

there's no scientific consensus yet

and some studies about bone broths benefits are probably overblown

the first company to make a commercial package bone broth was Pacific natural foods

which introduced five flavors of are Gannett bone broth to supermarket shelves last August

since then the product has flown off shelves

despite no obnoxious labels like great for the Paley oh diet for endorsement deals from the dozen or so a lester's who swear by it like

when each Paltrow and Kobe Bryant of Pacific's success has also left dozens of other broth manufacturers scrambling to launch

similar products were still waiting for them to hit stores

interestingly enough Pacific didn't develop a bone broth because it was looking to become a

trendsetter the because after years of development

Pacifico founder chuck Eggert finally found something he liked long before bone broth

made chef mark Oken aura of New York city's bread dough into an Internet Food celebrity

Eggert began tinkering with hundreds of broth recipes

is goal was to create a sipping broth that would have no added sodium or flavors and be high in protein

the best way to do this seem to be to return to traditional methods

the way you would make it at home

which involves slowly boiling the bones

seven years later

Eggert Spohn broth went to stores as the first widely commercially sold bone broth

each flavor boasting 9 g protein per cup whether the great bone broth breakthrough of 2015 will prove to be just another food fad

anybody still on the cabbage diet? We're a permanent shift in culinary trends remains to be seen

of course if bone broth really is that good for us maybe scientists will discover it can cure the

common cold of and then that might be worth a whole new era in Health Food

Hyundai is Making it Easier for U.S. Dealers to Sell Genesis Luxury Cars - Duration: 3:11.

Genesis has been on a bit of a roller coaster since it was spun off from Hyundai as its

own luxury brand.

Until recently, the plan was to open a whole new dealer network for Genesis so the fancy

luxury cars wouldn't have to share showrooms with Elantras.

According to a recent report in Automotive News, the previous plan to sell Genesis vehicles

exclusively through standalone dealers has been revised to make all U.S. Hyundai dealers

eligible to sell Genesis luxury cars.

Genesis has planned to roll out a chain of Genesis retailers consisting of about 100

stores in 48 markets.

Genesis franchises need to be applied for separately and the dealerships still need

to set aside special stores and service facilities just for Genesis, but it seems like it's gotten

a lot easier for American Hyundai dealers to sell luxury cars.

"By having more nationwide distribution, you're going to allay consumer fears that they'll

be traveling and not be able to get service on their vehicle," said a southern U.S. Genesis

dealer to Automotive News.

"If it pans out, it'll be a great thing.

It'll help sell more cars, it'll help overall dealer profitably, strengthen their dealer

network, and include all those who want to sell the product, and believe in the Genesis

product, to sell and service those cars.

I think it's a great decision."

So, if a Hyundai dealer does go forward with a Genesis franchise, how will that work?

"For those that chose to become a Genesis franchisee, the same requirements as we had

before to achieve brand separation and independence still remain: for example the standalone facility

requirement remains the same as before so they must provide a separate Genesis facility

to our design and spec requirements by 2021," said Genesis representative Kevin Smith in

an email to The Drive.

The total number of dealers selling Genesis vehicles may actually be higher than earlier

expectations.

While the plan was to just have the 100 or so standalone dealers, now the number depends

on how many Hyundai dealers apply for Genesis franchises and how many of them are approved.

Genesis is trying to find a happy medium by keeping a measure of exclusivity to the brand

while still being accessible to the people who want the cars.

If you're in the market for a Genesis and you were worried about how you were going

to get one, it should be easier than previously thought despite the push for exclusivity.
