Home pre-inspection program when selling properties for a smooth closing - Duration: 2:26.

Hi, welcome back to REALTALK™ with Sarasota's luxury waterfront specialist,

Roger Pettingell. Hey Roger. Mary Kay how are you today?

Wonderful, we're here in Oyster Bay. This is the first neighborhood I moved into

when I came to Sarasota. I remember that. It's really like an old established,

we've talked about this before. It's right near the Field Club, wonderful new

listing on North Lake Shore Drive. Right, and we're actually offering some

services for our new listers. Yeah, you know we've talked about this on and

off before about home inspections. So everybody thinks the hard part of

selling a house is the marketing, and getting the people, and negotiating the

contracts as you could well attest. I know otherwise. Mary Kay is now our general contractor who deals

with all home inspection items, be they toilets or broken Jacuzzi tubs, or who

knows. So we have found a way to make my job a little bit easier, and our sellers too.

That's our hope. So we're gonna be offering this pre-inspection service. So

what we have typically tried to do this ourselves. You know, we'll look at

air conditioning vents, make sure they're clean, anything that's leaking. And

whether or not you use the service like this, those are critical things to do.

Like, you don't want to be surprised come home inspection day and find out

that there's a leak in the kitchen window that you could easily have taken

care of because those are typically not big problems. But if you're a buyer

coming in, those are concerning. They are. So rather have that concerning feeling and

maybe the deal falls apart, just fix it. Absolutely, so what we're proposing is

doing, taking care of these items on the front end. Right. And we have a couple of

different packages that are available that really address sort of the

recurring issues that come up on home inspections. And they're available at a

very nice price, offered per square foot. You know, what we've done is we've gone in

and pre-negotiated this with some home inspection companies in the area. So when

we're talking to you about listing your property, this is gonna be something that

we're also going to be talking about. And it's something that we are able to

offer our sellers exclusively when they list with you. Right. Yeah. No problems,

we're going for no-problem closings. We'd be anxious to talk to you a little bit more

about this program, or show you this new listing. Please be sure to visit us at

BestSarasotaRealEstate.net. Thanks so much for joining us on REALTALK™.

Intro part A - Duration: 10:35.

Hello and welcome to my introduction video

for my video seminar

called Speaking and Speech.

I'd like to take a moment

to introduce myself, so that you know

why — who is teaching this class and

why you should be watching it.

My name is Yifat Shilo

My nickname is Kiki. I can tell you why later.

For now, let's just say that I have been teaching in Korea

English as a second language, for five years.

I started out in kindergarten and I worked through

all the different levels, all the way to business English.

So I have experience teaching small children and adults.

From all my experience,

I've come to understand

teaching English in a certain way

and I will be teaching you speaking and speech…

Not as in actually using language with your mouth, but

speech - as in giving a speech or public speaking.

These two things are not the same,

and I will explain more later, in the first lesson.

For now just know that I have five years experience

but I am an amateur video teacher…

So if you don't hear so well, or the lighting is not great…

That's the reason.

I will be putting up subtitles,

which, hopefully, you can turn on and off.

Who should be taking this class?

This class will hopefully have 15 units

Each unit will be accompanied by a worksheet

that has a reading section, a speaking and a grammar section.

You don't have to do the homework…

The homework is not there to stop you…

The homework is there as extra… for three reasons.

The first reason is - the number one, number one best way

to improve your language skills, that you already have, is reading.

When I first started learning German,

the first thing that helped me get vocabulary….

Their difficult grammar structures,

all of those things that are different

between English and German -

was repeatedly seeing the same thing on the page.

That is to say I am a visual learner and it's so important

for me to see the words for me to understand them.

You, on the other hand, may be an

audio learner or kinesthetic learner.

That means you need to use it and that's the way

that you gain access to the information.

If you're an audio learner then the video

lesson should be plenty for you to do.

And you should also be using the speaking section,

because even though it has a fill in the blank section—

or something like that,

it's meant to give you questions

that you can then ask a native speaker.

and get feedback.

And also meant for you to practice your answers.

So you'll see a question, like "what do you do?"

and that's a very common question

that natives ask each other

So you should be able to use that

question any time you need it.

As well as to be able to answer that question.

Well? What do you do?

I (hopefully) am teaching you English,

and speech - public speaking.

And the next point is… Second reason to do the homework

is if you're a kinesthetic learner.

Kinesthetics is the physical —

you know, some people they can't learn to make a cake from a recipe…

They just need to do it…

Sometimes there are certain things…

I need to put the flour in the bowl

otherwise, I just don't get it.

For kinesthetic learners language acquisition can be difficult.

One of the helpful ways to learn a language

is by writing things out.

That is, when you're taking notes

we all have smartphones these days, you can just take a picture

of the word and the definition. You can…

save it all in a file somewhere. But

sadly,

repeatedly writing

the same word again and again, writing sentences --

This is a kinesthetic way of teaching your hand

muscle memory,

giving you the ability

to recall the information

even when you don't necessarily

remember it in your mind.

Your hand remembers it for you. Interesting, right?

There are three methods of learning: visual, auditory and kinesthetic.

Those three methods will appear in the video and the homework.

When it comes to checking the homework…

before we get to when it comes to checking the homework

let's talk about my three rules.

I do have three rules for my students.

Before we talk about my three rules [laughter]

Who should be taking this class?

This class is for

pre-intermediate, intermediate and advanced.

If you're pre-intermediate and you're watching this video

you will understand every third word

that I'm saying and maybe the speed

will be a little fast.

That's okay.

You don't have to understand everything.

In fact videos are great because you can watch them again and again.

I'm not saying you should do that.

I'm just saying

for pre-intermediate

a video tutorial is helpful because unlike a class

you can go back and watch it agin.

So pre-intermediate - that's for you.

Intermediate.

Intermediate should understand everything I say.

I am speaking pretty slowly.

When I get excited or nervous, which I am,

I do tend speak a little faster.

But I am trying to make sure that you can

understand pretty much everything I say.

There are going to be words you don't know.

For example, kinesthetics is not a common word.

Teachers use it.

You may hear about it if you're studying, because it's a study word.

but if you can understand from the context

what kinesthetic means,

that's more important than knowing the actual word.

In fact, even in your own language,

we don't necessarily all share the same vocabulary.

Some of us read more, some of us

watch more TV.

Slang is different in different areas.

But we get a general understanding of the other person.

The problem is when you are not a native speaker,

context is difficult

and speaking speed is difficult.

As we progress through the videos,

I will be a speaking a little more quickly.

Hopefully, you won't even notice.

The point is that as you watch more of the videos

and as you practice more of the speaking,

you yourself will improve, even to the degree where

I can speak in a native natural pace -

Which is much more like this.

And you won't notice that I've sped up.

That's the goal at the end of the course.

See if you notice.

As for advanced students.

Advanced students - this should seem slow to you

and in fact, if possible, you should try to watch this at 1.2 or 1.5 (speed)

and see if you can still understand me enough.

There shouldn't be a problem.

If you're in the advanced, the reading is actually really important

Much more important than the other two levels

because from the other two levels I only expect them to read about…

For pre-intermediate only the pronunciation part.

For the intermediate half of the article,

because it's one article pre lesson.

For the advanced - if you can read the whole article-

that would really improve your vocab,

your sentence structure - especially the small prepositions.

Like 'for' 'to' 'before' all those prepositions.

Because English prepositions don't make sense.

They don't make sense in a way that

English has actually had to bend its own rules,

changing them because it's a living language

and they don't make sense anymore…

You will be able to make the same sentence

using 'for' and 'of' and no one would be able to tell you

why it should be one or the other

unless they're grammar champions.

If you know a grammar champion - congratulate them.

That's all you can do.

How To Hire A Telemarketer To Call Your Leads - Duration: 6:01.

Hey, it's Joe Crump.

Today I'm going to show you how you can hire a telemarketer to call your seller leads.

This is one of the most difficult things to outsource, and we've set up a system inside

the Automarketer that it makes it much, much easier to do.

And it also gives you a way to train them.

So, I'm going to show you how to do that on the computer.

I'm going to show you the basics of hiring a telemarketer to call your leads for you,

whether they're buyer leads or seller leads, doesn't matter.

The first thing you want to be able to do is have a phone number that they can use that

is your, you know, your number.

And the system allows you to buy as many numbers as you want.

They cost $3.00 a month and they're taken away from your $20 credit.

If you go over the $20 a month credit, of course you'll have to put in more money

to do that.

But you can pick the Area Code that you want.

So, if I'm looking at Indiana, I can find a number, and it'll search, and I can keep

scrolling through here until I find a number that's easy to remember, is what I suggest.

Even one with two or three numbers in a row, or repeating numbers, is good.

And once you do that you can hit "purchase a number" and that number will then show

up on your list of numbers that you own and you can add a voice mail to it and give that

number, assign that number to one of your team people, your telemarketers.

You can also do filtering, it keeps track of all the phone numbers, all the calls that

are made through this system.

You can even record the calls.

And if you record the calls of the people that are calling for you, it allows you to

know the duration of the calls.

And you can pay them based on the duration of their calls.

What we do is pay 150% of the time that they're on the call if they're main task is calling

leads.

So, if, that gives them an extra 50% to get to the next lead and start calling again 50%

of the time and that way they don't call five people and charge me for ten hours of

work, which has been a problem for us in the past.

You can spend an awful lot of money paying for telemarketers that don't do anything

and charge you for a lot more time than they're actually putting in.

You can also go in, if they're recording these calls, and listen to their calls and

see if they're saying anything crazy, see how they're doing and help them with their

training.

So, this is a really powerful tool for doing that.

Also, when you get a call back at these numbers, it'll send you an email and send them an

email with a transcription of their, of the phone call that was, the message that was

left, plus an mp3 file recording of the message that was left so you never have to go in and

check your messages.

They're just sent to you by email.

But you can also check them this way by going to this list as well, and you'll see transcriptions

here as well.

So, once you have a phone number for your new telemarketer, you also want to put them

on as a team member.

And you can add them as a team member and you can put their information in here and

you can give them a unique log in so that they can get into the system.

And then you can also assign them a particular number, one or more numbers.

So then when a call comes in, that particular call will get routed to them as an email and

you can put multiple people and multiple phone numbers if you choose to do that.

Of course, you can also send them the log information if they lose it, and you can deactivate

them.

So, you can make them active, or you can make them, you can deactivate them so they can

no longer log into your system with that email or with that log in.

The other thing I want to show you is the, in, let's go into Lead Management.

If you go into Lead Management and they're calling these leads, which is what they'll

be doing, because you're going to have them call back your leads, you can, they can add

a new property and when they're talking to somebody and they're adding a new property

it's going to bring up a questionnaire.

So, all they have to do is follow the questionnaire and they start down here, "Hi, I'm Joe.

You responded to my email about selling your house rent to buy.

I'm an investor, I'd like to make you an offer.

But we buy homes in a couple different ways and we need some specific information to help

us craft an offer that meets your needs as the homeowner and still make sense for us.

So I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions about the property?"

And then they just go in there and start asking these questions.

And you can do this as well, if you don't have somebody working for you.

You can use the same system to help you get comfortable and get good at being on the phone.

Sometimes just asking questions and doing this as a two-step process which this is designed

as a two-step process.

They ask all the questions and then at the bottom of the page they ask, "Would it be

okay for my boss to give you a call and make an offer on your property?

He'll make a cash offer on your property and a terms offer on your property."

And you always want to say they're going to make a cash offer because it's more likely

they'll take your call.

And you can make a low cash offer, but you're also going to make a terms offer which is

going to be more likely for them to accept, and easier for them to accept., so this questionnaire

is going to be vital, and this is where they're going to be spending most of their time.

Now, they can make the calls from this little phone doo-dad, or they can call from Lead

Management as well when they first make the calls.

And they can just click on this button and it'll open up the phone number and start

dialing it.

I guess I don't want to call that person right now.

Anyway.

That's how it works and it's pretty cool.

How Much Does an Automatic Label Applicator Cost? - Duration: 3:49.

Are you considering automating

your current labeling solution,

but worry about what it might cost you?

What if I told you

that automation can actually reduce costs

and proves a shockingly high ROI.

In this video, I will guide you through the many ways

in which automation can actually lower costs

and help you justify the initial expense.

(bubbly music)

We hear it all the time.

Customers who are desperate for a better labeling solution,

but worry about what it might cost them.

I'll let you in on a little secret.

It's not as expensive as you think it might be.

Your current labeling solution could

be costing you even more.

Let's find out if you're spending more

than you should be on labeling.

And stick around,

because at the end of this video,

I'll be sharing our secret formula

on how to justify this expense.

(light music)

As I'm sure you're expecting,

there are many different variables

to consider that will help determine the price

of your automatic label applicator.

Are you applying labels to flat or cylindrical objects?

Are you looking for a stand alone machine

or one that will integrate into your current processes?

What level of throughput are you expecting?

Are you working with limited space?

Consider asking your label provider to perform

an onsite audit to help you answer these questions.

We will then use all of these factors

to help narrow down our solutions

to find the one that will best meet

your needs and your budget.

(light music)

So, let's get down to it.

What's the price of an automatic label applicator?

The price can range from 20,000 all the way up to 175,000.

Don't worry, I know that's a massive range,

but applying the different variables we just discussed

will help to narrow it down.

For example, let's look at the labeling needs

of the healthcare industry.

A basic Microwell Plate Labeler will get your foot

into the door of automation for around 20,000.

A fully automated Tube and Vial Labeler

will average around 85,000.

Adding custom pick and place robotics

to this solution could get you up to about 165,000.

It all depends on the level of service you are looking

to achieve and what will be most cost effective

for your business.

And don't forget to leave room

in your budget for consumables.

These are recurring costs for things

like label stock and print ads.

These costs will vary based on your volume.

(light music)

Now, we understand that a major purchase

like this might seem daunting.

But consider what your labeling solution

is currently costing you.

If you're relying solely on a manual process,

you are incurring constant overhead expenses

from time and labor.

Add that to the cost of rework and waste

and you're probably already spending

more than what an automatic label applicator would cost.

But how long will it take

for that investment to balance out?

We've seen examples in the tire industry for companies

who have implemented a fully automated tread labeling

system have seen an ROI of less than six months.

All in all, the value the label automation can add

to your production, far exceeds the initial cost.

Follow the link below to use our justification formula

and start calculating how automation can add value

to your business.

Thanks for watching,

and if you liked this video please give it a thumbs up.

How to fight like an animal | Science News - Duration: 3:10.

Big claws.

Gnarly horns.

Blood.

Guts.

Lion vs. lion.

Elephant vs. elephant.

A ferocious conflict that usually ends in death

for one or both of the individuals involved.

That's how we think most animal fights

go down in the wild.

But the reality is that nature's array of

weapons and conflicts are much more varied.

Sometimes what appear to be deadly altercations

are actually just tests of strength.

When members of the same species clash in the wild

over resources or a prospective mate,

it doesn't always go down how you think it will.

[music]

First off, "to the death" isn't the only option.

Backing off can be the smarter move.

Beadlet sea anemones sometimes escalate a situation,

or sometimes they don't.

Observe as a sea anemone inflates its stinging tentacles

at a neighbor until it decides

enough is enough.

It's more exciting if you speed it up.

Achieving victory doesn't require blood.

A caribbean rock mantis shrimp

uses club-like appendages

to bludgeon an opponent in the backside.

Luckily, the shrimp's rump

is also equipped with a shield.

Eventually, someone gives up.

The prize?

A burrow in a laboratory tank.

Sometimes animals just need to

knock the other guy off his game.

Rhinoceros beetles look scary

but rarely inflict serious damage.

On a hot muggy night in Taiwan,

males vie for a female's attention.

On guard!

Using two pronged horns,

competitors fling each other from branches.

The falls aren't fatal.

But to the victor go the spoils.

Finally, ruthless killers are rare,

but they can be scarier than they look.

These members of a species of nematode worms

resemble dueling spaghetti noodles

when they wrestle.

But never go in against a nematode

when death is on the line.

Given the right grip, they'll squeeze

an opponent's body until paralysis ensues.

The loser slowly expires from internal injuries.

In the animal kingdom,

it's not always you win or you die,

but when it is, the arena is often tiny

and the conditions are cutthroat.

CNN 10 - May 4, 2018 | An Israeli Company Promotes Drones for Business | CNN Student News - Duration: 10:01.

If you live on Earth, here are two things to keep in mind: one, Fridays are awesome!

And two, and this is not awesome,

there`s a good chance that the air you breathe is too polluted to be healthy.

That`s according to a new study just released this week by the World Health Organization,

which is part of the United Nations. It says the vast

majority of the global population is breathing air that has high levels of pollutants. Asia

and Africa are the worst continents for this.

But in cities across North and South America, Europe and the eastern Mediterranean, pollution

levels are still too high to be what the WHO calls

healthy.

The cities in America with the most polluted air included Los Angeles, California, as well

as Bakersfield, Fresno and Napa. They also included

Indianapolis, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, and St. Louis, Missouri. But one of these

places have anywhere near the level of pollution that`s seen

in Peshawar, Pakistan, Cairo, Egypt, and Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

The report says pollution isn`t just a city air problem. It`s bad in people`s homes and

poor areas of the world, where wood and charcoal power

stoves and open fires are used to cook and heat. The upside of the study is that many

cities are keeping track of pollution and that can lead to

steps to clean it up.

Seven million people die each year from a manmade cause, air pollution. That`s according

to a new study by the

World Health Organization.

They also found that nine out of every 10 people on the planet breathes air that contains

high level of pollutants.

The WHO says it`s the world`s most comprehensive database on pollution. The organization collected

data from more than 4,300 cities and 108

countries. Although air pollution affects people worldwide, low and middle income countries

experience far worse.

Many of the top cities on the list are in India. While attention is usually paid to

Delhi and Mumbai, the WHO founded the cities Kanpur,

Faridabad, and Varanasi are the top of the list.

Environmentalists warn that India is sitting on a toxic time bomb. The U.S. based Health

Effects Institute found that over 1 million people die

every year in India alone from the impacts of air pollution.

This pollution is created mostly by car and truck emissions, manufacturing, power plants

and farming. The particles in the air are a mix of solid and

liquid droplets that get embedded into the lungs when we breathe. It leads to multiple

health conditions including asthma, lung cancer and heart

disease.

Lynda Kinkade, CNN.

AZUZ: It looks like the demilitarized zone, the heavily armed border that separates North

Korea and South Korea may be the place where North Korean

dictator Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump will hold their historic meeting. That

could take place late this month. It would be the

first time that sitting leaders from these two countries ever held a face- to-face meeting.

President Trump says he likes the location because if things work out there, a celebration

could be held on the site instead of in a third party

country.

But some U.S. officials reportedly think the meeting should be held somewhere else like

Singapore, because skeptics are concerned that holding

it at the DMZ would put North Korea`s leader at an advantage.

The U.S. is an ally of South Korea. It has been since the Korean War. There have been

several signs of better relations between those two allies

and their rival North Korea. For instance, the North and South had promised to silence

the loud speakers they have at the DMZ. Both sides

have used those to blast propaganda and music across the border. South Korea has taken theirs

down.

Also, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who`s now a member of President Trump`s legal

team, says North Korea agreed to release three American

prisoners yesterday. One of them had been held in North Korea since 2015. The other

two were arrested last year.

But when we produced this show, the U.S. government had not confirmed that the prisoners were

being released and their families said they hadn`t heard

anything yet either. But the Trump administration said releasing the prisoners would be a sign

of goodwill by North Korea.

AZUZ (voice-over): Ten-second trivia:

Which U.S. state is known as the Copper State?

Arizona, Nevada, New Hampshire, or West Virginia?

Also known as the Grand Canyon State, which would have made it too easy -- Arizona is

the Copper State because it has lots of copper.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: Classes across Arizona are scheduled to be back in session Friday following a six-day

walkout by many of the state`s public school teachers.

They were protesting for better pay and more funding for new textbooks, school support

staff and upgraded technology.

And that`s what was in the bill that Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed on Thursday morning.

It included a 20 percent increase in teacher pay over

the next three years and additional funding to make up for some of the cuts to education

that took place back in a recession. It didn`t include

everything teachers wanted, like an amendment that would reduce class sizes in Arizona.

Still, the National Education Association says Arizona`s public school teachers are

returning to class. They teach 1.1 million public school

students across the state.

One of the reasons why we`ve reported on drones so much over the years is because new applications

for them are continually popping up. They`re used

in the military. They`re proposed use in delivery services are well-known. Farmers have been

using drones to make sure their crops are healthy and

emergency crews use them in Puerto Rico and Nepal after natural disasters struck.

An Israeli startup hopes drone technology will help businesses that have a lot of ground

to observe, but the downside is, they could replace jobs done

by people.

What is Airobotics?

Airobotics involved the first completely automated drone system. There`s no person in the loop

whatsoever. We started this company not be a drone company, but our mission is to be

a data company.

Most people think about drones, they think about, you know, flying it recreationally

or for selfies or even creating commercials or

cinematography. We`re looking at it from a tools perspective. We`re using drones to gather

and analyze information that is relevant for our clients.

BURKE: Like what?

KRAUSS: Like mapping, surveying, volumetric measurements, security, emergency response.

So, there`s a variety of different data types that we

collect and then we take that information an we analyze it and we turn it into insights.

BURKE: Mining companies are one of your big customers. What do they use it for and how

they use it?

KRAUSS: You have these big stockpiles, right? And you want to know how much stock is in

that file. So, instead of sending someone, or drone does

that automatically, from A to Z.

We`re actually now assisting in the construction of a new seaport in Haifa.

BURKE: Uh-huh.

KRAUSS: So, we`re able to help them build the port with daily images of how they`re

progressing and we also --

BURKE: So, it`s purely the construction of it right now.

KRAUSS: Yes, but the idea is to get to the second stage where the port is becoming operational

and we stay as a system that supports the actual

operation. So, when a big tanker comes in to duct in a seaport, there`s a small ship

leading the way. It`s making sure that it follows the right

path, right? We`re even thinking about a situation where a drone do that.

BURKE: And emergency services, how would they use your drone?

KRAUSS: So, imagine the city where you have 10, 15, 20 of our units scattered around the

city like cell towers. And then suddenly there`s an

emergency situation, let`s say there`s a fire in a building. The closest drone flies there

and shots video of what`s going on, sends it to the fire

truck before it even gets there. That could be life saving.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

AZUZ: I don`t mean to drone on about drones, but this is pretty amazing. This is what happens

when more than 1,300 of them are lit up and sent up in

the sky.

It`s part of China`s Labor Day celebrations. And though a Hong Kong-based newspaper called

this an epic fail because some drones didn`t light up,

enough of them were in the air at once to challenge the world record of 1,100-plus drones

that flew over the winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Drones, you`ve got to give them props. It`s always a fun story to hover when you`re on

the air and ready to deliver a battery of puns. Oh, I know

of few people would like to shoot them down, but haters and drones get pretty sore.

But when we`re ready to take off for the weekend, it`s tough to bring down a flight of fancy.

Dexter Madison - An Evening at the Improv - Duration: 7:18.

How are you hooligans? This is too too fun.

This is a hoot and a holler,

and I have seen some hoots in my time.

I'm Dexter Madison. Share the fantasy.

This coffee is so rich. I think I'll have that extra taste.

This is yum. This is lish. Mmm mm mm mm mm.

Well I'm feeling pretty good tonight, ladies and gentlemen.

I'm a swirl of romance.

But as we all know, romance can be a bitter pill.

Tear comes to the eye. Flick! Flick!

Sometimes, when one finds oneself amidst a relationship

from which all romance has fled.

"You don't love me. You've never loved me."

"You just used me." "How true! Cocktail?"

That remains rich.

I'm getting into bodybuilding.

Bodybuilding is an art. I am an artist.

I'm working on my own body. Unfortunately, I'm a surrealist.

But I related to artists. I do.

I read an article once in which

Matisse said that when he reached the age of 80,

he wanted to turn into a vermilion gold fish.

And when I read that, I thought "You, too?"

Oh, Matisse! (speaking french)

And someday I'm going to learn French.

It will be fun.

You know, I find myself immersed

in this crazy biz we call show.

In fact, a young lady from the

Hollywood Reporter just interviewed me backstage.

I was very flattered.

And she asked me. She said "Dexter. Showbiz."

"The money, the fame, the drugs, the sex."

"If it all were to start tomorrow,"

(cheering and applause)

"I could handle it. But not the drugs, though."

"They need to ice me."

Particularly cocaine.

Cocaine has always been thought of as a showbiz drug.

People do it in nightclub bathrooms.

I'm sure we've all been there. You go to the bathroom,

and behind one of the doors, you hear, (sniff sniff)

I don't know about you, but if I did hear that,

I'd rather hope they are doing cocaine.

Don't you?

I read a book a whole ago.

The Stranger, by Albert Camus,

in which a man commits a pointless murder, is executed.

And the whole point of the book is that life has no meaning.

Albert Camus won the Nobel Prize for this.

But at the back of the book,

you get a brief biography of Albert Camus.

And it says

"Albert Camus died in a car crash in January of 1960."

And I always thought they should have added,

"Not that it matters."

Poo poo on Albert Camus.

No funster he.

You know, I find it very strange when someone goes out

and kills 20, 30 people, which he should not do.

And they catch that fellow,

and they ask him "Why did you do it?"

He always says the same thing. "I heard voices."

Why don't the voices ever say "Go dancing. Bake a cake."

There are options.

Oh, I've been writing a lot lately.

I really like being a writer. I do.

Although I remember once at school,

I had analyzed the great poem of the 20th century.

The Wasteland by TS Elliot.

And I must admit that after two weeks of feverish study,

the deepest literary insight I could come up with was

that if you rearrange the letters in TS Elliot,

you get toilets.

Dexter pulled a B in that course.

I know what I should do. I shall write a book on music.

A book on the blues. Dexter Madison's History of the Blues.

Can't you just see it?

Chapter one. Why are there no French blues singers?

(french blues music)

Perhaps that's why.

Those crazy froggies.

No little soul have they, what guys.

Ah yes, they speak of the blues.

And the blues will drive some people to drink.

I never drink alone. Unless of course, I'm alone.

I spent last Thanksgiving Day alone.

It was a personal decision.

Made by my friends.

(cheering and applause)

But I speak of the blues.

The work place will give people the blues.

I have toiled in the work place on occasion.

I worked in a bank once.

- [Audience Member] Oh! - Yes. I was a teller.

I was good and I knew it.

I was nominated for teller of the month.

I wanted it. So bad, I could taste it.

But I knew the only way to win was to go to you the people,

for the popular vote.

So I started giving out extra change.

After the trial,

I worked briefly for the Christian Science Organization.

I quit after one week. Ask me why?

- [Audience] Why? - No sick days. Ha ha.

They're a fun bunch, those people, aren't they?

Well I must leave you with a final though.

Or a first one, depending on your point of view. Haha.

You know, I find that many women have a

rather cynical attitude towards men.

It's so sad.

Many women believe that men will

do it to anything that moves.

And that is so unfair, because movement is not essential.

Good night, ladies and gentlemen. You have done well!

(cheering and applause)

Two Koreas await long journey from an armistice to a peace treaty - Duration: 1:50.

The successful inter-Korean summit has led many to hope that the two Koreas can finally

sign a peace treaty to formally end the Korean War.

But with other parties involved in the signing of the original Armistice Agreement, signing

a peace treaty may be more difficult than it seems.

Kim Mok-yeon reports.

At the 2018 inter-Korean summit last month, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his

North Korean counterpart Kim Jong-un declared to the world that there will be no more war

on the Korean Peninsula, reaffirming their willingness to head towards a new era of peace.

In the Panmunjom declaration, the two leaders vowed to officially declare the end of the

Korean War by the end of this year and work to replace the current 65-year-long armistice

with a peace treaty.

However, this needs not just the approval of the two Koreas, but also of the other parties

involved in the original armistice agreement.

In 1953, the Korean War had been temporarily halted with an armistice agreement, which

was signed by representatives from the U.S.-led United Nations command, China and North Korea.

But it wasn't signed by a representative from South Korea, as then-President Rhee Syng-man

opposed the idea.

As so, the two Koreas need the approval of the other two signatories in order to sign

a peace treaty which signals the beginning of exchanges and cooperation in various sectors.

Many experts expect the process to first begin with a declaration of the end of the war between

the two Koreas, which will be followed by the participation of the U.S., and finally

the signing of the peace treaty together with the U.S. and China.

With a long journey awaiting the two neighbors, it seems like the key to achieving prosperity

and peace on the peninsula will depend on how the signatories judge the North Korean

leader's words, especially on his willingness to denuclearize.

Kim Mok-yeon, Arirang News.
