Starting Your Own Tour Business: 4 Tips for a Successful Launch - Duration: 2:07.

Congratulations! You're stepping out into the world of starting your own tour business,

and it's almost launch time. I've got 4 tips that are key to

a successful launch.

First, test everything. Even though your actual launch date will be the

real trial, you should get friends, family members, and peers to test

the entire workflow of your business. Including:

all forms of booking from walk-in, phone, to online, payments,

waivers, merchandise, the tour

itself, what to do if your systems go down, and

especially emergency protocals.

Encourage your testers to get creative and ask questions you wouldn't normally think of,

so you can be prepared for all fronts.

Two, set clear goals for the launch and make feedback one of them.

Make it clear to the guests participating that feedback is crucial,

and give them simple and anonymous ways to do so.

The best way to do this is to hand out a paper form and clipboard right after the tour

so it's fresh in their mind, but a follow-up email with an anonymous Google Form attached

works as well. Then, set aside some time to carefully go

through this feedback. Try not to let your ego get involved and take offense,

feedback is a great learning tool and it's much easier to change now

than half way through your season.

Three, take pictures of everything. A successful

launch is one that gets talked about. Get pictures up on social media,

especially Facebook and Instagram, and encourage your guests

to tag themselves. If a guest posts about you, share and engage with their post.

Number four, invest in rewards. Everyone loves S.W.A.G.,

so give your guests a piece of your tour. Tshirts, water bottles,

and other branded SWAG all work, it's a nice way to thank your guests

for taking a chance on you, and leaves them with a conversation piece.

What's up guys today, it's beautiful Thursday outside

It's been quite a bit of a day because I finally finished my my final go figure

So I got it turned in now I got to work on a twelve hundred page or twelve hundred word essay

For my psych class. I just realized I forgot my hat so give me one second to grab it

All right, that's better now that I got my hat on like usually

So I wanted to talk to something

That's been on my mind for obvious reasons because I've had my final for the past couple days

I've been talking about for the past couple days, and it's going to school

like college

after high school

All right, so we're out here

Let's go right there, but like I was saying earlier

I wanted to talk a little bit about going to school right out of high school

College that is I think it's important and I'm finding out now

That you forget a lot of things

when you move on and you go like I went straight into the military right out of high school and

Although that's not a bad thing I do recommend doing it do schooling while you're in the military

There's plenty of opportunity to do it or do schooling in general. I mean nowadays jobs are requiring

You know bachelor's degrees or at least associate's degrees or some kind of certificate from a trade school in order to work?

It's becoming more of a necessity

instead of a thing of Merit

It's crazy. How it's changing. I gotta move undercover. It's starting to rain all right. No. No that I move myself but

Right there. I got my awesome all doing another time-lapse. I'm just out here shooting a bunch of different time lapses

Maybe maybe get some cool pictures and run out in between the update the Instagram page

But back to what I was saying having a college degree or a college education is becoming so important these days

It's it's unbelievable like I said, it's it's more of a necessity

Than a prestigious merit. It's crazy and being a dad of a three-year-old and

Basic stay-at-home dad now of a three-year-old while my wife goes to work it has its challenges

Now is it worth it of course. It is. You know I love my little girl

I love hanging out with her, but it's it's it adds a level of difficulty

To doing it

Versus just doing it when you get out of out of high school or shortly after

um even if you're not a full-time student do it from time to time or not time to time, but do like maybe a

class or two or three

Which basically would be full-time but do a class or two?

Right now I mean, I'm currently taking two classes

One in person and one online so that way I can get my 9/11 GI Bill benefits

It's still difficult. I mean they're shorter than the average 16 weeks. They're they're eight-week courses, so it's more consolidated, but

It's challenging now. I'm not saying. It's impossible to

Live without a college degree it is possible. It is doable, but it's just a lot more of unnecessary

hard work and

stress and

Worry that you have to go through then it then it would be if you're to just go to school get your college degree

Right out of the gate, and then work at some. Cushy job. If you will now of course the life experience you get from

Doing these things

Is super beneficial to you

going through

Life because you'll be able to relate you'll be able to tell these things you'll be able to talk to someone and help someone

Go through it. That's going through it because there's gonna be those people that don't go don't go school and do it it

Yes, it is doable

but

personally why I think

Why not be in that best level job?

because you've worked to get that education you set yourself up to do it and why not just set yourself up right so I

Guess my point of this video is to help motivate someone that is thinking should I go to college?

Or should I just try if if you can work some entry-level job and work your way up to management no

Yeah, you can't do that, but it's gonna take a long time

It's gonna be a lot of trying to make ends meet

You know I I was there when I got out of the military. I didn't really have a college education

I took two, maybe three classes. You know I took four classes well not before I got out, and I had a time in between

When I got out of the military and to win my wife got in the military where I was working two jobs

And trying to maintain school and use my military benefits from the school or from the military and for

school

just to make ends meet so that we I can provide a roof my family and

Food and whatnot and it was difficult. It was really really difficult, so I

Guess all I'm trying to say is if you're thinking about going to school or if you haven't thought about going to school

Consider going to school college wise and do something that interests you that's something you want to do for the rest of your life

because at the end of the day the way the world is going is it's going to be a

Need in order to get those entry-level jobs. They're raising requirements for stuff like that

So that's my final thought on it

I have a hair disorder. It seems like I have a form of alopecia

For a couple of years now

The people that follow me on YouTube may know that I struggle with hair problems for a while now

It may not be that obvious, it looks kind of full maybe. that's also the case at the root

So I'm glad that I can cover up the alopecia a little

We're almost there
