what's up guys we are Christian Aubrey that's right okay a minimal millenials
that's all sir if you didn't know today is our two year anniversary it is ours
here I made it people told us that the first couple years would be rough
especially the first year we heard non-stop first year was gonna be brutal
yeah brassiere was not rough it's not like
things are perfect we've got some things improve on but overall I give us an
a-minus for the first two years oh maybe Justin a okay just for like our ability
at being married yeah I mean our marriage go okay not necessarily our
skill but just like how the cards are falling yeah we can like be a very
unskilled we talked about all the time like I don't think anyone else would
survive our marriage because we have such high expectations for each other
yeah that we're constantly like squashing each other with like like
pushing each other to do bar and I think if either of us was just like a nice
like normal person that just didn't have this manic drive to just do things we
went on Instagram yesterday I posted an Instagram post if you guys don't follow
us on Instagram do so I'll link it right here
ah if you don't like you don't have to do it yeah that's not it's not mandatory
free internet we were originally going to just do some stories and throwing
your guys's questions about getting married young and what it's been like
and stuff but we got so many good questions that we wanted to make a long
video about it and today is our wedding anniversary the
actual day that this video is coming out first of all a story two years ago today
while we were getting married yeah we were about to go to Iceland that was our
honeymoon is 11 days it's awesome yeah so we had this idea that like every
anniversary would do something epic like we'd leave the country or we were just
like absolutely slam-dunk the ambition well the next year we had just completed
Vanka version number one and it's kind of cute that like we're just about
finishing the manga version today so we're about to finish Vanka version two
anyway we just finished van conversion number one and we wanted to take it out
first a brochure so we said we were in Texas beginning of June into May and we
had because we so working in sanitarium we only had a
week ago so we're like you know what where you go for a weekend you go to Big
Bend which is the deserts national park right but you were just taking the car
for its first spent so alternator goes out have to replace that but you know
what we're not gonna let the stress of that take us down we went to Big Bend we
drove around had a nice time at first one-on-one really nice hike I got the
worst part of my life and it was only on my arms and lights and it was that bad
and Aubree got burned I got the worst part of my life here and we were out we
were super dehydrated and didn't rain off water and it was so hot we just we
drove doc crazy Brookes not a good first wedding anniversary the second one we're
just working we're just having a normal day but I'm excited no the day feels a
little more special I'm you know big more excited to your wife than usual
yeah so we got married when Christian was 19 and I just turned 21 we were
definitely really young so we had a lot of questions for people about what it's
like so that being said let's dive into some of your questions straight off the
top we're gonna answer Haley Lauren's question of how long do we date for it
do we date in high school we dated for a year before I got married
that includes our three months engagement and we did not date in high
school we didn't need until you're both in college drugs so I think what made
you decide to take the plunge to get married so young rather than dating for
a while longer by Liam Martin now that's a really good question and I think
probably the main question of all of this um
again is living in the south is a very normal thing to get married young it's
not crazy and I think looking back like we didn't realize how young we were I
mean we're still really young but we've got a couple of marriage years under our
belts a lot of travel now and a few years of work forces like not that we've
got to figure it out but like we've passed the kid stage Ellie yeah and
looking back at 19 did I really know what I was doing no and I think the
interesting thing to me is that like we've already both changed quite a bit
I think we both went into it um even as young as we
to us it was less about like getting married and the certificate of the
official ness of it all it was more that was this like a significant of our
commitment to each other and the marriage was really important to I think
it was important to us it was really important to other people in our lives
especially our families and we went into this commitment really understanding
that is gonna take a lot of hard work we are gonna change because we know we're
so young right and it's really important to us that we stay together through all
of the ups and downs and through kind of the realizations and the newness that
comes with living more life a lot of people are asking about our families our
families are both really supportive yeah again I'm not family where like like my
mom got married at 21 and a lot of people are getting married younger so
hell he was crazy them and I've always kind of done things really fast so that
didn't surprise me I think they both were able to see like how right we were
for each other right and they supported us committing
to each other in a official way let's get to some more fun questions here who
pursue to you who Oprah Sudhir um and did you know once you started talking
hang out the other one was the one um I uh who pursued who's a fun one I think
that here's the truth it is that you kind of pursued me even though you
wouldn't admit it really but then she was like she was like trying to play the
friend zone game cuz she knew that she kind of had a crush I had a kind of
little crush but I was going to admit to him and you were not yeah so we were
friends and she was freaking and tweakin and she set me down and she like was
like hey look I'm really nervous that you're going to fall in love with me and
you're gonna mess our friendship up I was like wow is a confident girl right
here he's gonna just lay it out on the line real confident and so I told it I
probably would fall in love it there I'd keep you posted and if we kind of just
had a who pursued who stand off from there you can tell your side of the
story that you can defend yourself well I don't feel like anyone pursued anyone
I think it was just kind of like we're such good friends and we're so
comfortable with each other like I never like spent time with somebody where it
was so natural it was truly the most natural time yeah sure and that's why we
knew to answer another question of like when you see that person was the one
that's that's how we knew it it's like it's super effortless hang on yeah so
once like that kind of clicked then I felt like we both knew what was
happening and we just had to talk about it and then we call again
so someone basically asks a question of like what does marriage mean to you like
that's a really good question because you think about what marriage was like a
generation ago or two generations ago or three it was kind of a contract to set
people up for an effective economical relationship I mean that's what it was a
thousand years ago or two thousand where you know you marry someone so you can
pass on your cattle effectively or whatever so I think that is completely
changed and I think that's what's wrecking you know with the whole
national conversation about gay marriage and stuff like that that is where the
disconnect is is that like I think one generation sees marriage kind of
traditionally and what we mean by traditionally is just like traditionally
it's been in a very economic partnership it still bit like love involved but like
the pull the reason to get married and not just be in love with someone wise to
set up this very efficient economic system right I love taking care of the
family I think now there's no reason for that because Aubrey can go not not that
there's no reason for marriage but that's kind of a just outdated because
Audrey can now go by herself and make as much money to me and I can go by myself
and makes much money as her and when we have kids we're both going to be raising
the kids and I don't know I just I think that that has just become ha dated
because it's so effective to work from home it's so effective you want to work
etc so I had four men to be a part of the household to like we both do equal
amount of my cleaning and cooking right exactly so I think that marriage in the
last generation or two has just become like who is your person you know or are
you like planning to spend all of your time with or like
basically I just think it's really nice just to have a partner you can rely on
and you trust you know best friend in your house so it's like
who do you want that person to meet for the rest of your life
yeah and how much are you willing to say hey I I want that badly enough that I
will be that for you also so I think because of that I mean I don't want to
get political or anything but like that leads to obvious conclusions of like
life partners can get married to life partners right and we don't have to
delve into that too much but like that's what I feel like the value of marriage
still is now I think our the way marriage worked out and it's kind of a
crappy contractor everything right it's not like objectively I think marriage is
like the economically smart thing to do but I think that the ceremony of it and
the commitment is still special yeah it was like the symbolism of it and to be
able to do it with our closest people there to witness it was like really
really special you should tell them what we did for the lighting cuz we got a
bunch of comments mother yeah we got a lot of questions about our wedding so um
I will be posting on our Instagram some wedding pictures so head over there and
check those out so our wedding we wanted it to be really simple and not too
expensive because weddings can be really expensive
look um and so we just had it at my family's house in Spokane Washington
they have some property out there and it's really beautiful and we just had
our family so we had our immediate families a lot of our aunts and uncles
and our grandparents some cousins I guess and then in our wedding party was
just her siblings so I we haven't talked about it too much but you guys have seen
a lot of Christian siblings and you'll probably see a lot of mine because we'd
be going up north my whole family lives up in the northwest um and so I have
seven siblings seven younger siblings and she has five younger siblings and so
we literally filled out full-sized wedding parties with her yeah we had a
little party in Spokane which is where her family is afterwards all right and
we had a big old party in Austin where he just got all of the people that in
our life that we didn't want to entertain at a wedding but like my
family was able to plan for me and or for us it kind of is really special like
a big party in Austin that like you know a few hundred people showed up to and
came and hugged on us and gave recommend it so much because at a wedding
the and groom like feels this pressure to
talk to everybody yeah and you're in this moment of like holy crap we just
committed to each other because for our lives this is crazy this is amazing
and all you want to do is just like go away and like talk about it and like
have some time together and have your honeymoon and not kind of thing and at
least that was me some people do love the idea of like talking everybody so I
loved it because we had already been married for a couple of months and we
could really with when we had those parties when we had this party and we
could really engage with the people there because it was all about the
partying is all about celebrating with absolute shout out to go in with the
wind for their two year anniversary today oh happy Anniversary guys happy
Anniversary guys all right Britney Michelle says do you still like your
wedding ring I'll actually just selling Christian this morning but I still love
it and for those of you guys who know me well you know that I love change
I especially visual change like I have to change it up so much this is one of
the few things that I still love so much I think I love it even more than you
were literally at all your mother's like an hour yeah literally so I'm gonna show
it to you guys because I'm showing it to you guys and oil it's super super simple
and Christian designed it so it just has this on the bottom I love it little rose
gold bands from diamonds I'm glad you love it
alright last one let's do a good one clean back says in a relationship one
person settled in every real show we just want to be settled for the other um
this is obvious all of you guys can tell this and this isn't the classic the guys
settled for the I'm sorry they got like basically the girls love them for the
guy right that's like how it's like that of course into us to say that but it is
so true good because I'm so a serious nigga
Aubrey like we were talking about this last night I am like I'm really a HD
with my mum my whole life like if I have something to focus on I focus on it so
intensely that I can do nothing else but if I don't have me need to focus on I
feel super like dazed and apathetic so it's like this roller coaster of like
either I'm just like can't really motivate myself to do something not day
or I'm like so motivated that you can't I mean to eat or talk or anything so
it's like a pretty intense cycle that's a TD or not
I can't tell whatever it is it's intense it's really intense I'm just grateful
that somebody who is how to manage that and I when I say the I don't say like
patronizingly manage I'm saying like Audrey just knows how to be really
gracious and like let me really anxious Li focus on things and then also when I
might not change to stay focused make me still feel like I have a sense of
self-worth if I'm not doing something so plus she's obviously way prettier than
me and way more likeable in funnier well I think you're the coolest person ever
so I really don't think I settles oh thank you but you're wrong I appreciate
it well two years strong guys we made it this far I stopped I only have like a
dozen gray hairs yeah of course you did you know this whole spiel about how
amazing I am you are nothing you are perfection so so you're very stressful
sometimes anyway guys um I hope this was fun and we like talking about it and
it's hot it's nice to be on our anniversary so we've got one day left in
man we're gonna go build right now yeah be showing you guys in two more days the
