Youtube daily US May 7 2018

1. Abingdon, Virginia.

On race days at the nearby Bristol Motor Speedway, Abingdon can turn bustling, but mostly this

town a stone's throw from the Tennessee and North Carolina borders stays sleepy.

That doesn't mean boring—arguably the country's most beautiful rails-to-trail, the Virginia

Creeper Trail, starts here.

Riders can rent bikes and arrange shuttles at the Virginia Creeper Trail Bike Shop.

Meanwhile, the two-century-old downtown boasts the Barter Theater, the nation's longest-running

professional theater, where Gregory Peck got his start.

Foodies will want to sample dishes at the innovative and friendly eatery The Peppermill

or the reportedly haunted The Tavern.

2. Livingston, Montana.

It's a testament to Livingston's over-the-top beauty that its scenery beats even Yellowstone

National Park, 50 miles south.

Fly-fishing on the Yellowstone River is legendary, but the downtown holds plenty of pleasures,

including galleries, an ever-growing assortment of unique shops

including Conley's Books and Music, a crackerjack independent bookstore.

Wet your whistle at The Murray, a favorite stop for visiting celebs located inside the

historic Murray Hotel.

3. Sackets Harbor, New York.

Sackets Harbor, which sits pretty in the Thousand Islands region of upstate New York, may be

tiny but it's mighty.

During the War of 1812, the village hosted the American Navy, enduring two of that conflict's

critical battles.

History buffs can enjoy a guided tour of the Sackets Harbor Battlefield, which features

a restored shipyard.

Just outside of town, Westcott Beach State Park is resplendent with white sand and Lake

Ontario waters, but simply strolling the downtown streets, lined with quaint shops, is a treat.

Don't miss brunch on the patio of Tin Pan Galley.

4. Fredericksburg, Texas.

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is spectacular in the spring, when the area's

wildflowers are in bloom.

There are plenty of diversions in other seasons, too, like exploring the region's famous wineries,

including Becker Vineyards, producers of award-winning vino for two decades.

Founded in the 19th-century by German settlers—whose descendants still make Old World-style goodies

at the Old German Bakery— Fredericksburg is also home to the exhaustive

National Museum of the Pacific War, dedicated to detailing WWII battles in the Pacific.

5. Madrid, New Mexico.

Located along the Land of Enchantment's Turquoise Trail about 30 miles south of Santa Fe, Madrid,

once a ghost town, has evolved into a full-blown artist colony.

Some 40 shops and galleries, many selling unique goods from local makers, fill the town.

There's even a little bunkhouse out back, or book a stay at The Lotus, a spa, and inn

providing services that include aromatherapy, yoga, and art therapy instruction.

6. Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

Perhaps still known best for its famous ex-mayor, gorgeous Carmel-by-the-Sea, offers loads to

do in its one-mile-square radius.

The dining is world-renowned, with around 50 top-rated restaurants to choose from, including

Doris Day's Cypress Inn.

Art lovers can stroll some of the town's 80-odd galleries with Carmel Art Tours, or take a

painting lesson at Titus Contemporary Gallery.

For a romantic retreat, reserve a room with a fireplace and whirlpool tub at the Carmel

Country Inn and take in a performance at the Sunset Center, where legends like Rosanne

Cash play.

7. Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

One-quarter of four little municipalities in northern Alabama dubbed collectively "The

Shoals," Muscle Shoals should be on every music lover's must-visit list.

The town's Fame Studios has hosted everyone from Aretha Franklin to the Osmonds.

Meanwhile, nearby Florence boasts the flagship store of the South's hottest clothing designer,

Billy Reid, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Rosenbaum House,

while Tuscumbia is home to the iconic Ivy Green, the Helen Keller Birthplace and Home.

8. St. Michael's, Maryland.

Tucked away on Maryland's Eastern Shore, St. Michael's history stretches back to the mid-1600s,

when it served as a trading post.

Nowadays it's dotted with graceful colonial, federal, and Victorian structures turned into

hotels, restaurants, and shops, like the luxurious Inn at Perry Cabin.

Sample the justifiably famous local crab at the inn's restaurant and then head out on

the water—kayaking, sunset cruises, and paddleboards are all available in St. Michael's.

You can even help build a boat at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum.

9. Durango, Colorado.

Colorado is rich with adorable mountain burgs, but it's tough to beat Durango, especially

if you're a fan of locomotives.

Founded in 1880 by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, Durango still offers steam-powered

train journeys along the historic Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

To explore more ancient times, visit nearby Mesa Verde National Park, home to Ancestral

Puebloan people 1,500 years ago.

Of course, everything from fine fishing to incredible skiing is available in the surrounding

San Juan Mountains, and with more restaurants per capita than San Francisco,

Durango offers plenty of options when you're ready to eat.

10. Ephraim, Wisconsin.

Ephraim, situated on Wisconsin's Door County Peninsula, was settled by Norwegian Moravians

in 1853.

It features 11 sites on the National Register of Historic Places and a wealth of great shopping,

including the Anderson House Shop and Gallery, where you can browse for treasures inside

an 1864 homestead.

Outdoor lovers can take to the waters of Eagle Harbor by jetski, kayak, paddle board, or

Bella Sailing Cruises sailboat.

Fine flavors abound in Ephraim, too, from the locally-sourced cuisine at Trixie's to

the sweets at Wilson's Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor, a favorite since 1906.

This is Fred Wahl the VisaCoach

Today's topic is: How can a US Citizen get Married in the Philippines

Visa Coach

Fast, Easy and Personal

I am Fred Wahl, the VisaCoach, I am known for the

personal one-on-one relationship that WE share, (that's you, me and your partner), as WE work

of immigration,

Don't risk your happiness, Don't go this course alone.

delays and expensive denials.

Do Pick up the Phone and speak with me directly, so that,

you and I, can get to know each other.

This is the free introductory consultation I talk about later.

If we are compatible, that's the beginning of our beautiful

relationship to get you the immigration approvals you need.

Hazel comes from the Philippines and I helped her get

her Spouse visa., this is what she wrote:

I am so pleased that my husband have chosen your service and as a result of your very

organized, well detailed preparations and your very clear

and precise step by step instructions in all our

paper works which leads us to a successful immigrant visa approval!

This saves us from all the trouble and stressed during the interview.

interview and approval lies on how well ones paperwork's are prepared.

Therefore, we highly recomend your excellent service and rest assured nothing can go wrong

but truly a dream come true for us!

We appreciate your all time support and quick turnaround in accommodating all our questions

each time we have doubts and confusions.

Thank you Mr. Fred Wahl!

You are most welcome: Hazel and Tyler

Now, lets talk about "How can a US Citizen get Married in the Philippines"

I am pleased to help my clients get both fiancé and spouse visas

to bring their loved ones to the USA.

Almost half of the couples I work with come from the Philippines.

It turns out that the US Embassy in Manila is THE busiest of all US Embassies in the

world.

Processing 10's of thousands of requests for visas to

travel to the USA every year.

The Philippines is a wonderful country.

The people are very kind, very gentle, they are awesome to know and

be friends with.

English is taught in the schools so most Filipinos can speak

some English, and they like the USA, they like Americans.

And most Filipino Families have some relatives who have

already immigrated to the USA.

This all makes the Philippines a very popular place for

an American to find romance.

I know that I did.

If you have fallen in love with someone from the Philippines

basically you have two choices to bring him or her to the USA.

Either get engaged then apply for a fiancée visa or marry and

apply for a spouse visa.

Most choose the fiancé visa route because it is much faster than the spouse

visa.

Currently (and this changes over time), currently it

takes about 8 to 9 months to get a Fiance visa from Manila, compared

to 14 to 18 months to get a Spouse visa.

That "doesn't make sense" you say.

"Married should be faster", Well, yes, BUT the way these processes work,

a fiance visa is considered a non-immigrant visa, good for

a 90 day visit, to meet potential inlaws and Disneyland, and

IF a wedding occurs to remain in the USA permanently.

But it is a big IF, and the system assumes the fiance might go

back to Philippines, so since it is officially only for a short

stay, the visa does not need to be vetted as much as a spouse

visa.

A spouse visa on the other hand is considered REGULAR immigration.

That means the applicant is not applying for a short

visit, but is applying to stay in USA permanently.

So there is more vetting, more examination, and the final approval includes

approval for the GREEN CARD.

The spouse visa allows your spouse to enter the USA, and to STAY permanently.

Despite the spouse visa needing more time, for many the attraction

of marrying your love sooner, and having a wedding ceremony

in a tropical paradise, among your spouse's family, friends,

and neighbors can be very attractive.

For those here is how to get married in the Philippines.

Getting married in the Philippines takes planning and it takes

some time, and needs a minimum of 10 days.

If you're flying in for a short stay you will have to

plan your time carefully.

The reason it takes at least ten days is because in order to get married one

first needs to obtain a marriage license.

Applying for a marriage license in the Philippines is somewhat like applying

to buy a gun in the USA.

There is a ten day cooling off period between when you file your application until the earliest

you can get to the altar.

Applying requires you and your fiance to go to the court

or mayors office and present the following documents.

Passports.

Birth certificates.

Proof of termination of previous marriages Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract

Marriage and as in most recent update each applicant

(even the American) must provide a Certificate of No Marriage, (CENOMAR), issued

by the Philippines Government (PSA)

The CENOMAR can be ordered in advance and can be ordered

online and takes about 10 days to be issued.

It's best to order this document well in advance of your

arrival in the Philippines.

But the Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage is

not so easy for an American to obtain.

The Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage is a document

issued by a government body, that states the holder is currently

not married and is free to marry.

Many countries like the Philippines maintain a central registry of marriages

so this document would normally be issued by a government authority.

However, since the USA does not have any central registry of marriages

it is impossible to find any US Federal, State or local government

office that would issue the statement stating they have checked their

records and you are not married and are eligible to marry.

So what can you do?

Well the US Embassy is there for you.

They can not issue a document that categorically states you are not married,

but what they CAN do is, allow you to raise your hand and swear to

a consular officer that you are not married, and he then can issue

a statement, that he has witnessed you making your sworn statement.

This is called "Affidavit In Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity

to Contract Marriage"

Both the consular section at the US Embassy in Manila, and the consulate's

satelite office in Cebu will do this for you.

Do be aware however, that a very few of the local towns, like Quezon City,

Makati City, and Davao City and others might not accept this Affidavit.

Best is to find out in advance, and if necessary choose another town

to marry in.

Marriage licences are good for 120 days, and the wedding doesn't

need to occur in the same town that issued the licence.

After you bring all the required documents to the court or

mayor's officer, and pay the licence fee, after the ten day waiting

period the marriage license becomes valid and you can marry,

either in church or in front of a judge or mayor.

To marry within only 10 days you must plan your trip carefully.

For the shortest stay, you would plan to arrive in Manila or Cebu

in the morning take taxi from airport to the consulate or embassy,

get the Affidavit In Lieu of a Certificate of Legal Capacity

to Contract Marriage, then pushing on to the local mayors or

judge's office before they close.

On the tenth day you can pick up your approved marriage licence

and marry.

When planning your whirlwind 10 day trip, keep in mind that

government offices are closed on weekends and holidays and

plan your arrival and departure accordingly.

And of course while a 10 day trip including wedding is possible,

it would be prudent and more relaxing if you give yourself

few more days overall to your visit.

This would give you a cushion in case of delayed flights, traffic

jams, and so on.

When can you bring your new spouse to the USA?

Unlike what we saw in old movies an American can't arrive,

sweep a foreign beauty off her feet then throw her over his shoulder to board a Pan Am jet

back to the USA.

Sorry, but once the honeymoon is over, you will most likely be

returning to the USA alone.

To bring your new spouse to the USA.

You need to apply through US immigration.

Of course I can help.

Usually we start working together well before your wedding,

in order to get "all our ducks in a row".

But the earliest we can actually submit your application

will be a few months after the wedding.

This is because in order to successfully apply, your application

needs to include a copy of your marriage certificate

issued by the Philippines Federal government.

Sadly, in the past the Philippines has been plagued by

fraudulent or counterfeit Civil documents.

In order to make civil documents trustworthy, the the Philippines

government has instituted national government office

called the Philippines Statistics Authority, PSA.

PSA's job is to verify and vet Civil documents such as birth, death and marriage

certificates.

Even though, soon after the wedding, the local judge or mayor has issued

you a local marriage certificate, that document is not

accepted by US immigration.

Instead, only the PSA version is acceptable.

And it takes three months or so for the PSA to issue their

own marriage certificate.

Once the wedding takes place, the time it takes to bring your spouse

to the USA will be about 3 months to obtain the PSA marriage certificate

plus another 14 to 18 months at US immigration before the visa is issued,

and life together in the USA can begin.

Because it takes such a long time to bring your spouse to the USA

many couples, decide not to marry in Philippines, and instead

choose to marry in the USA.

With a Fiance Visa, once a face to face meeting has taken place, a couple can usually

get permission to come to the USA in only 8 to 9 months.

What can you do to speed the process ?

Don't wait to bring VisaCoach on board.

Typically, we should start working together months in advance of your

trip to get married.

This way we can get most of the logistics out of the way, and on your

trip to get married you will be armed with detailed instructions and

checklists of what bases to touch during your trip, and what to bring

back in the way of evidences to make your visa application strong

and likely to be processed as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Then we craft your application to VisaCoach's high standards, leaving

a placeholder to insert the PSA marriage certificate the moment it

is issued.

BIGGEST CORRUPTION IN THE US YET – GINGRICH READY TO TAKE IT ON !

"Trump administration is corrupted !" "Trump does the unthinkable !" "US falls in the

hands of Russian lovers !" . Hold on now , don't get mad.

This is just a preview.

A sarcastic way of criticizing fake media.

Yet mainstream media takes this serious.

So serious that they even make themselves believe these stories.

But wait.

Has it always been like this ? Let's see how things went for Obama.

He went in office and media praised him for a long time.

He left office and his administration was worshiped as unmistakable.

Any scandals involving Obama ? Quite a lot actually.

unfortunately not many came to the light of day in mainstream media.

Well Newt Gingrich has enough.

Time to end the corruption.

In a short interview with him he express his concerns about the current situation.

He especially made a very clear point about John Podesta having dinner with Justice Department

officials while Clinton's case was well under investigation.

FBI Director James Comey wasn't going to get away from this one either.

Gingrich had a lot to say about him especially about being the first lying director.

In the end he makes a clear point about why Trump won the elections and why he should

stay there.

There are a lot of critical news going unnoticed and mainstream media wants to make sure it

stays that way.

Comment below and tell them how you feel about that !

Best US coin designs, walking liberty - Duration: 6:39.

hello fellow coin collectors how are you going today and my name is Glenn in

today kind of a conversation about the u.s. half-dollar The Walking Liberty now

this is called The Walking Liberty because on the obverse it has Liberty

and she is walking towards the west towards the Sun and she has the u.s.

play so the Sun actually represents a new day a new dawn for the United States

Liberty well Liberty is pretty popular in the United States it represents

freedom of the United States people from tyranny and well this would be the old

flag it would be missing some stars because newer states were admitted after

this design was actually implemented and she is carrying low of oak Oak leaves

like branches so if I this is a better design or not been designed better

quality coin so as you can see you can see the oak you can see the flag and the

stars better and here the stripes that stars and stripes and the flake actually

goes around in form part of her clothing so the dress and the flag is also part

of the top as well so the flag is her clothing and she has a breastplate and

armor in the typical Roman style and the oak actually represents civil and

military glory so past victories that they have and undi on the river so we

have a needle I'm not too sure on the species are evil maybe could be the bald

eagle which represents the United States in Australia we refer to the bald eagle

and sir the glorified seagull manly because in Australia the wedge-tailed

eagle is a larger bird and it has more power so but anyway this eagle is

beautifully designed it's actually the best designed eagle on US coins the

coins before this design well they're quite pathetic compared to this design

and it coins afterwards now they weren't as good as well even I did current u.s.

50-cent coin is actually quite a good coin this 50 cent coin is the best u.s.

50 cent coin ever issued so the Eagle is actually on a mountain so it's probably

on a mountain ledge in which can actually look over its surroundings and

get a full view and because the eyesight is very good we able to detect predators

and also we have a mountain pine which actually can seize Greg Lee and small

because well in a high mountain range the actual inability to get nutrients

and water in the shallow soils stunts its growth now as you can see on this

coin it has well this is not post mint damage this is a premium damage and it

looks like a flying floor on this actually 50 cent coin I'm not too sure

it's actually pilotis on doesn't look like it is because guys all the way down

here around here or in here and represents in the guys stand yeah no if

I look on average 50 cent coins I don't actually see any evidence of it even

though they're heavily circulated if they had same feature that would be able

to I should be over to see it so you feel look yeah

No especially here I don't see anything so and that's a weird thing in yeah

these coins are actually real did not counterfeit and surprising well you can

look on ebay for pricing but yes I'm not familiar with our US coins I actually

brought these awful 25 Australian dollars so I've seen these on eBay go

for about fifteen dollars in this condition but in this condition actually

goes for a lot more thirty forty Australian dollar so I reckon it's a

good bargain Alcott but if you collect the US coins can you please leave a

message down below what you think the value of these coins and forever people

what do you think of this coin design I actually got it not because a little

walk in Liberty but because the Diego beautiful and hopefully in the future I

can actually get more US coins oh sorry there's some construction work going on

in my house and it's very noisy so if you are in the United States where you

go to the United States hmm you can actually get these coins in change there

are YouTube channels that do searching roles of 50 cent coins also 1 cent 5

cent ten cent and 25 cent coins as well

looking for silver and old coins and you can get coins sir Oh about a hundred

years old in u.s. change so when you do look through and see if you can get

coins so thank you very much for watching I'll leave a link down below to

ebay which is an affiliate link if you would like to purchase any of these

Walking Liberty coins because well they're not too expensive but a very

good design and have a awesome coin collecting they

Writing Tension in Film - What Star Wars Can Teach Us - Duration: 4:20.

You know why this shot works so well?

The build-up is neat, the effects even better, but that's not it.

It works because of this other shot.

And why is this moment so powerful?

Because of this scene.

And this one, and that one.

So, it's all about set-up and pay off, right?

Actually, something more powerful is at work:

It's the tension between imbalance and balance.

The primary imbalance in A New Hope is that the rebels are losing and the Empire is winning.

This has to be corrected.

Character arcs work the same way.

Han Solo's chief imbalance is that he's selfish and cynical in a crowd of mostly idealistic

people.

But by the end, he overcomes that.

On the most basic level, stories are about dealing with lopsided situations.

When balance is restored, either with a happy ending or a sad one, the story is over.

At the end of its intro sequence, A New Hope provides 4 imbalances:

The Rebels are losing the war against the Empire; the Death Star plans are not in the

Rebels' hands; Princess Leia is held prisoner by the Empire; Threepio and R2-D2 are on their

own.

Ideally, the audience will want to see all these loose ends tied up.

The problem?

3 of them take a backseat for nearly 30 minutes.

To keep the audience from feeling frustrated, the story addresses minor imbalances in the

meantime.

Like the following:

The droids fight and get lost, but they are reunited.

They're almost pulled apart, but they're reunited again.

Luke leads a dull life, but it suddenly becomes exciting.

R2 goes missing, but they find him.

The sand people attack our heroes, but Ben rescues them.

Leia's message is incomplete, but now is complete.

You get the idea.

These short-lived imbalances create pockets of tension to keep the plot interesting.

But more importantly: by solving them quickly, the writer is reassuring the audience that

the primary imbalances will eventually be solved, as well.

In short, the writer is on top of things and should be trusted.

So, we established that imbalances are essential for creating tension.

Now the question is: how do we choose the best imbalances for a story?

Well, that's where theme comes in.

In the words of John Truby, "Theme is best expressed through the structure of the story[…]This

is where you, the author, make a case for how to live, not through philosophical argument,

but through the actions of characters going after a goal."

A quick way of identifying the theme--if there is one--is to pinpoint the dramatic problem

at the beginning of the story and see how it's solved at the end.

In the case of A New Hope, a group of ordinary strangers come together to defeat an overwhelming

foe.

From this, we exploit the weak points of the theme to create imbalance and tension.

People have to come together?

Split them apart, have them bickering, or both.

The rebels are underdogs?

Then show off the Empire's power as much as humanly possible.

As you can see, choosing points of imbalance is quite simple.

And creating tension out of that is even easier.

But without a strong theme to serve as your compass, the job can prove a lot more difficult.

Thanks for watching.

If you want to help out, you can do so by subscribing and sharing my videos, but if

you can also afford to pitch in a few bucks via Patreon, that would buy me a lot more

time to put into the channel.

This has been One Dodgy Dude telling you, "go write a great story.

If you dare."

Today, we`re taking a look at inside the U.S. food supply, this time, zeroing in on produce.

We`re examining how engineering and importing have

replaced old fashion growing in the U.S. food industry, and how consumer demand still has

the power to influence the industry.

Our reporter Cristina Alesci has gone inside some of America`s biggest food companies,

seeing what most folks haven`t seen before and getting

incredible insight as to how production affects what`s on our plate.

Salad. Americans are eating up to five times more leafy greens than they did 20 years ago.

We`re consuming three billion pounds a year. But our intensifying love affair with fresh

produce is creating problems for farmers, for the

environment, and even for our own health.

One in six Americans, that`s 48 million people, get sick from contaminated food each year,

3,000 die, that you think it`s coming from undercooked meat

and fish. Well, produce is actually responsible for about half of the illnesses.

Any industry that wants to produce safe foods, they can do that.

ALESCI: Dr. Mansour Samadpour runs one of the nation`s largest food safety consulting

labs. Chipotle recently hired his company to assess and improve

safety standards after the government traced an outbreak of E. coli back to some of its

stores. He stocks listeria and salmonella in his office.

SAMADPOUR: This plate in theory is good enough to infect everyone in the city of Seattle.

ALESCI (on camera): How could you get so close to it?

SAMADPOUR: Because they don`t jump.

ALESCI (voice-over): Recently, the risk associated with some fruits and vegetables has become

so high that the FDA begun actively monitoring them

for contaminants, a historic move for the agency.

So, how serious is the industry when it comes to keeping our food safe?

We traveled across the country to find out. It`s sunrise in Salinas Valley, California.

This area is called the "Salad Bowl of America" and

for good reason. Its fields produce 60 percent of the leafy greens in the U.S.

DIRK GIANNINI, FARMER: I think farmers are the backbone of this nation, to be honest.

ALESCI (on camera): I climb up on this side, right?

So, this is water that did this, that cut this?

GIANNINI: Yes, it`s a water knife with extreme amount of pressure. We`re trying to attract

better workers and a better working environment for our

employees.

Dirk`s family has been farming this land for four generations.

GIANNINI: The amount of work that goes behind one head of lettuce is tremendous and the

basic consumer has no idea of the intensity and the

dedication to a 10-acre block of romaine.

ALESCI: Farming in this part of the world has gotten really rough. Farmers are fighting

a drought, a labor shortage and rising prices for

land, even some insiders say the industrial process is pushed to the brink.

The president of Campbell`s Fresh is one of them.

(on camera): What is the state of the food system?

I would say that it`s highly stressed. The past 50 years of over-farming a lot of land

has created real

problems on the global basis in terms of having enough irrigable farmland. The word I`ve used

is stressed almost from any dimension you look at.

ALESCI (voice-over): And farming is just the beginning of the process. And yes, I mean,

process.

(on camera): How cold is it in there?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It`s going to be about 34 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit in there. The

entire process is that cold.

ALESCI (voice-over): Taylor Farms is the largest producer of fresh cut vegetables in the world.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Any given day, we`re going to have a million pounds of product come through

this cooler.

ALESCI (on camera): A million pound?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: A million pound of products.

ALESCI: Wow.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Whether we dice, shred or shock, they`re going through several series

of cutters and they immediately fall down into the beginning

of our wash process.

It kills Gram-negative bacteria, which is the bad stuff. So, E. coli, salmonella and

listeria.

ALESCI (voice-over): Taylor spent millions on the so-called smart wash system after spinach

from another California company caused 200 people to

get sick and killed three.

TAYLOR: You can`t eliminate -- there`s no kill stuff in our industry yet. It`s still

fresh products, so you can`t cook it or microwave it, or to do

something like that.

ALESCI (on camera): How much of a setback was the outbreak in 2006 of E. coli?

GIANNINI: I think that was a wake up call.

ALESCI (voice-over): Beyond the human costs, it was a $300 million setback to the industry.

SAMADPOUR: The current assumption is that the food is safe until proven otherwise. We

have made a lot of people sick over the years.

ALESCI (voice-over): You may be asking, how does a bacteria like E. coli or salmonella

end up in your leafy greens? It could be a variety of ways,

but the most common answer is waste. Manure is used to fertilize crops. Animals like rodents

or birds pick up the bacteria and then carry it into

produce fields.

SAMADPOUR: People need to understand what they are eating, where it has been grown.

You`re planning to travel to a country and they say, when you

go there, don`t eat salads and don`t drink water. And then you find out that your salad

is coming from that place.

ALESCI: In an appetite for year-round produce means the imports just keep coming.

TOM NASSIF, PRESIDENT AND CEO, WESTERN GROWERS: Well, they always produces, but it wasn`t

the kind of importing that`s being done now. Every

year, we import more and more fresh produce from foreign countries. We found that in many

of the outbreaks, it comes from foreign producers.

ALESCI: The government is trying to hold foreign producers to a higher standard, with the Food

Safety Modernization Act, or FSMA -- the most

significant food safety law in 70 years. The bill sets guidelines for how companies should

prevent and respond to contamination.

It sounds great. The problem: funding.

(on camera): How much more does the FDA really need to do its job right?

SAMADPOUR: Much more than what they have been asking for.

ALESCI: How much more?

SAMADPOUR: Say they need probably minimum 10 times more resources, 10 times more resources.

ALESCI (voice-over): The agency says it needs about $170 million more. A lack of money and

people might be one of the reasons the FDA has stopped

short of requiring routine government inspections of farms, according to critics. Instead, it

relies on third party auditors. But the agency says

the new law gives the industry an accountability that didn`t exist before. The goal it says

is getting safer food to you.

But with 48 million people getting sick each year, and an estimated $77 billion in costs,

the price of failure is high.

(on camera): Fresh food, it`s what everyone wants to eat more of, and the key to the healthy

diet. And technically, it`s supposed to make shopping

more simple. There isn`t a laundry list of ingredients on a bag of carrots, right? But

sometimes, shopping for raw ingredients could actually

be more confusing than buying the packaged and processed stuff.

So, let me bring it down for you.

(voice-over): After reporting "Raw Ingredients", people said, great, now that you`ve scared

us, what can we buy that`s safe in the grocery story?

Should you buy organic produce?

Well, it kind of depends. The government tracks chemical residues on our fruits and vegetables.

The worst culprits: apples, berries, cucumbers and

spinach. It might be worth paying a premium for those.

Or you could stick to fruits and vegetables that have fewer chemical deposits. Think onions,

sweet corn, cabbage and eggplant. The cleanest,

avocados.

There is an emerging alternative, hydroponics, growing produce without soil, which is supposed

to be much cleaner than an open field.

(on camera): Fish, you want it low in contaminants and high in omega 3s, the good fatty acids.

(voice-over): Seafood like mackerel, shrimp and wild salmon.

Or look for pull caught fish. Those tend to be younger, so they spent less time exposed

to toxins.

(on camera): But what if your local store only stocks farm-raised salmon?

(voice-over): Those can be higher in industrial chemicals stored in fish bag. But experts

say you can remove most of the bad stuff like trimming

away or cooking off the fat.

(on camera): But enough with the veggies and fish, how about the meat? Now, the ideal here

is, find some companies that minimize antibiotics.

(voice-over): The CDC says that all those drugs in our meat have created a public health

threat known as a super bug. So, look for these labels.

These third parties are supposed to ensure farmers are using drugs responsibly.

And here are a few marketing scams you should watch out for. Terms like "natural and farm

raised". Those don`t tell customers whether living

conditions for the animals are horrendous or pristine.

And while "hormone free" chicken sounds great, the FDA bans those in chickens, turkeys and

hogs.

(on camera): Bottom line, eat fresh food, just ask a few more questions.

Today Google is celebrating US Teacher Appreciation Week with Google Doodle in USA

This week aims to cast a special spotlight on educators who have and continue to dedicate

their lives to the intellectual and personal development of students across the nation.

Created in partnership with all 55 2018 US State Teachers of the Year, today's Doodle

explores the theme.

when is teacher appreciation week

Celebrate Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week, May 7 to 11, 2018.

Your teachers and staff go above to help your students go beyond.

Thank them for making a positive difference every day at your school with unique teacher

appreciation gifts from Positive Promotions.

Teacher Appreciation Week is a national holiday celebrated in United States of America which

takes place in the first full week of May.

The lessons learned with my grandmother have shaped the art educator I am today.

Teaching is about forming genuine relationships built on mutual respect.

I've often found the small day-to-day moments are where we can have the biggest impact.

I challenge my students to find ways to quietly shine each day: greeting others with smiles

and warm hellos, respectfully listening to other people's stories, and coming to school

open to ideas and perspectives.

I hope by being a part of my classroom that students are challenged to live their lives

with enthusiastic, empathetic resilience through tough times and small tasks alike.

The results can inspire others when least expected.

Happy Teacher's day to the incredible educators who inspire the future change-makers of the

world.

Happy US Teacher Appreciation Week 2018

"Hebraisms" and How They Help Us Understand Scripture - Duration: 4:14.

Notice in this same verse that it speaks of the Believers "living in the fear of the Lord".

A better more literal translation of the Greek is not "living"

but rather "going" in the fear of the Lord.

I point this out because at this point in Jewish history the Biblical phrase "walking

in the fear of the Lord" or "going in the fear of the Lord" had become a

standard expression in Jewish life that meant to denote faithful observance to the Halakhah;

Jewish law.

Remember what I told you that the word Halakhah means?

It means "the path that one walks".

So the idea is that "walking in the fear of the Lord" is "the

path that one walks".

See how that fits together?

And in that era, Halakhah consisted of a combination of Torah Law, Oral

Law and customs that Judaism said establishes the path that one

ought to walk.

Among scholars a phrase of this type is call a Hebraism.

That is, just like we might call a phrase like "don't let the cat out of the bag"

an Americanism because it is used nowhere else but in America, it has a meaning

among Americans that goes beyond what the words mean in their

literal sense; but only Americans know what it means.

After all, this particular Americanism has nothing to do with

cats or bags; it merely means to keep something secret.

A Hebraism does the same; there are sayings that have a certain meaning only within Hebrew

society, and the saying doesn't necessarily mean exactly

what the individual words seem to say.

I've often said, I sure am glad that Christ never said "don't let the cat out of the bag"

I can't even imagine what some churches would look like.

You'd have those for the bag and those for the cat.

I bring this up because the New Testament is chocked full of Hebraisms that

can be hard to spot because they are first expressed in Hebrew thought,

written down in Greek,

and then further translated to English.

Thus we can look at the literal meaning of those words and get the wrong impression unless

we recognize it as a uniquely Hebrew expression.

So in the NT whenever we see the expression of going, or walking,

or living in the fear of the Lord, it is actually a Hebraism that is referring to being faithful

to the total body of Halakhah.

And of course, this was considered as the most pious, God-fearing thing that a Jew

(believer or otherwise) could do.

Coz your cause is right and God is on your side

If you want to learn more about this, search Operation Cyclone

if that's not enough a couple of days ago, General Robert Neller from the US Marine Corps

he called the Taliban apostates and then he said we are the Mujahideen

I didn't know that the general has been promoted to religious leader

so let's hear from Mullah/Mufti Robert Neller d.b (a term of respect used for scholars)

there are apostates they hide behind

He's been a captain for too long mate

He deserves to be a major now. How many more movies does he have to do

to be promoted to major

why are you holding him down?

is it because he doesn't kill innocent people?

and considering what an embarrassment the war in Afghanistan is

I'm sure America won't be sending in any more troops right?

wrong apparently

back to the question posed on the title of this video

I think the conclusion is

Yeah sue em!!!

there is only one infinity war

Till next time guys, Asalaamu alaikum

Trump Driving US Towards Another Great Depression Say 1,100 Economists - Duration: 4:08.

Donald Trump could very likely be sending the United States into another great depression.

And I know that's kind of hard to hear.

After all, we just got the news a few days ago that in April the economy added I think

what, another 139 or 169, somewhere around there, new jobs.

Unemployment fell 3.9%.

That would indicate that the economy at least in terms of employment only, is doing better

right?

So how in the world could it be that we're headed towards another recession/depression?

Well, don't ask me.

How about you ask the 1100 economists, who this week sent a letter to the president of

the United States warning him that his trade wars that he has going on right now, are repeating

the exact same mistakes from the 1930s that made the great depression so much worse.

And of those more that 1100 economists, 14 of them have won Nobel prizes, so I'm going

to go ahead and assume these guys know what the hell they're talking about.

And before you say that this is just a bunch of liberal bull crap, how about you consider

the fact that this letter from 1100 economists was actually put together by a conservative

organization.

It was the National Taxpayers Union.

Conservatives, they're the ones telling us that Donald Trump is repeating the same mistakes

of the 1930s that made the great depression so much worse and he's doing it again today.

One, either because he's stupid and doesn't understand or two, because he simply doesn't

care.

In 1930 there was something called the Smoot–Hawley Act which enacted a bunch of tariffs in the

United States.

They were trying to fix the great depression but according to researchers these tariffs

actually made things so much worse.

In the '30s before this act was passed, the Smoot–Hawley, economists in the country

got together, sent a letter to Congress in 1930 telling them exactly what was going to

happen.

If you pass this act you're going to make the depression worse.

People are going to lose their jobs.

You're going to harm farmers.

You're going to harm industry.

You're going to make things so much worse in this country.

And they didn't listen to the economists.

Those lawmakers in the '30s thought they knew better than people whose job it is to study

what happens to the economy.

So in the new letter today, 2018 they actually repeated the same warnings and in fact quoted

that letter from 1930s that they sent and said, nothing has changed.

These things will still happen if Donald Trump continues this trade war with other countries.

Farmers in the United States today are already starting to feel the squeeze of these tariffs.

Money is being lost every single day.

Large, substantial amounts of money.

Millions, upon millions, upon millions of dollars from the United States economy and

Trump shows no signs of stopping.

And what's even worse is that his idiotic followers think that he's doing this because

he's a great businessman.

He understands what's going on.

He knows how to do this.

Well, no.

It's one thing when you're a businessman, and move into an area bully everybody out

and you know, get a good price for the building you want to put up.

It's another to attempt to bully countries that have more people, more products and more

money than you do.

Politics, goverment is not a business and you cannot run it as such because when you

do, you lose every single time and that's what these 1100 economists are trying to warn

Donald Trump today.

And I can promise you this.

Having seen what Donald Trump does when people who are smarter than him tell him what to

do, I have no doubt in my mind that Donald Trump is going to ignore this letter and continue

on with his disastrous trade war, regardless of the negative economic impacts that it has

here in the United States.

Going Shopping in Germany vs US - Duration: 9:23.

i'm going to drink coffee too!

hey guys it's Kelly again! welcome back to my channel. I'm

kind of frantically running around my apartment right now to get ready because

I have a manicure appointment and I kind of lost track of time and I'm running a

little late I'm gonna take you guys with me sorry I'm talking so fast it's just

I'm running late so let me throw my shoes and then let's go!

oh my god it is such a beautiful day outside. I love it!

I remembered while I was getting my nails done that I have some shopping to

do and again it's Saturday and I hate shopping on Saturday but I have to

because tomorrow's Sunday and all of the stores are closed on Sunday I've

probably just been really spoiled with living and what I call "the land of 24/7"

and yeah, not every town has those hours like if you live in rural US you probably

don't have stores with 24/7 hour access but everywhere I've lived I've had those

hours and have been able to go out and shop so this is really something I had

to get used to here.

the stores between Germany and the US are very similar of course you can

actually find the exact same stores between the two countries and then there

are some stores available in Germany and not in the US and vice-versa but like the

layouts of the stores are very similar the quality of clothes is very similar

so that isn't really a big difference. I will readily admit that I am not up on

fashion trends. you'll see in my videos I wear pretty plain clothes so maybe I'm

not the best person to comment on fashion between the two countries but I

would say that your average German dresses very nicely whether they're going

grocery shopping or taking their dog for a walk they're going to wear nice casual

clothes whereas in the US, you see a huge range of clothing styles. you'll see

people wearing pajama pants out in public,

sweatpants... you'll see people wearing extremely stylish and fashionable

clothing. so it's just like a way bigger range. there are two huge fashion trends

that I've seen in the US and I've never seen really in Germany. one is wearing

athletic attire or athletic wear as casual clothing. it's pretty common to

see an American walking around in basketball shorts and a girl walking

around in yoga pants as like their normal casual wear whereas in Germany

would only ever see a German wearing athletic wear if they're going to and

from the gym and even then usually they're changing into their athletic

wear at the gym. and even like sneakers I've heard so many people say they can

pick out an American tourist because they'll be wearing sneakers. it's not

that Europeans don't wear sneakers it's just that they're much more fashionable

and casual looking as opposed to straight up Asics

I'm about to go run a dang marathon. and the the high sock trend... there are a lot of

Americans that wear their socks up to like mid-calf. I have never seen that in

Germany. another trend that I see all the time in

the US and I never see in Germany is wearing sports team merchandise you will

oftentimes see Americans wearing sweatshirts, jerseys, ball caps... all sorts

of clothing bearing their favorite team name whether it's college or pro NFL or

whatever it is. they will wear this stuff quite commonly whether it's on season

off season... if there's a game that night it doesn't matter.

whereas in Germany the most I've seen is people going to and from their soccer

games their football games and they might be wearing you know the colors or

have like the scarves are really popular for whatever team that they're rooting

for. another big difference that maybe a lot of you are aware of is that there

are huge size differences between the US and Germany so whenever I go shopping in

Germany I'm having to constantly like Google size conversions between Europe

sizes and US sizes because it's different for pants, dresses, for shoes

all of it is different. sometimes they will have tags that have both the

European and the u.s. sizes which are awesome because then I don't have to do

this conversion. of course a lot of the stores in Germany, especially the bigger

ones, will accept international debit cards, credit cards but there are still

some stores that will only take cash which is why you might hear people

saying cash is king in Germany. or they'll take the German debit card

system and from what I understand Germany had its own debit card system

before it became popularized on a global international scale and so these are the

cards that a lot of the stores will take and are slowly transitioning to the

international system. I'm gonna go try on these clothes now.

and I'm back home! before I let you guys go there was just one more thing I

wanted to talk about but couldn't get to while I was in the store and it actually

happened. so if you have like a long line a lot of stores will open up like an

additional you know cashier line to try to expedite everybody being able to

checkout and here in Germany it's just like the people that are last in line so

the people who have been waiting the least amount of time will without a

doubt just hop out of that line and be the first one in to the cashier line

that just opened up. they go from being the people that were last in line to

being the people that were first in line. I've never really seen it so pronounced

like that in the u.s. it's usually the people that are last in line noticing

the line open and they will look at the people in front of them and say hey go

ahead you clearly have been waiting here

longer than me you know and offer it up to someone but it's just not... it's

not like that here. it doesn't make their way wrong or my way right you know it's

just different and that's... I think a lot of the fun in traveling and experiencing

other cultures is seeing those differences and especially to try to

figure out why those differences may exist so I'm just kind of curious to any

Germans watching this and I don't know if this happens in other European

countries I don't really go shopping when I go traveling in other countries a

lot to be able to notice it so anyway if you've seen this in Germany and you have

a reason as to why you think this happens I'm really curious as to what

the explanation is because it's something that maybe people just don't

even notice happening here I don't I don't know maybe they don't notice

but I definitely notice that. alright guys that's all I have for you today! I

hope you enjoyed this video and got something out of it and if anything was

just entertaining seeing me go through my day and hearing what I have to say

about the differences between shopping in the US and shopping in Germany if you

haven't subscribed to my channel yet make sure you hit subscribe I'll be

posting videos every week see you next time bye! i'm gonna go do stuff now...
