Youtube daily or Dec 26 2018

Hey, boy

Look

I'm gonna make this simple for you

You got two choices

YES

or

YES?

Choose only one of the two YES or YES?

Make your choice come on YES or YES?

Since when was I so selfish?

Did I ever want something this eagerly?

Everyone is surprised at how shameless I am

Come on and tell me yes

My scenario has become more daring than I thought

I'd say this plan is perfect, quite satisfying

I don't care no matter what others say

You better tell me yes

I have decided YES!

Now it's time to hear your answer

If it's too hard, there are examples to choose from

You don't have to waste your time thinking

Don't know what you'll choose, so I prepared these options

Choose only one of the two YES or YES?

Don't know what you want, so I prepared these options

Make your choice come on YES or YES?

I will say no to your no

Is it me or us?

I respect your choice

but reject your rejection

There is only one answer, the choice is up to you

It's all up to you

Choose only one of the two YES or YES

Do you mean it?

Do not guess

Are you serious?

Do not ask

Don't give me that unsure side-to-side, I want a sure up-and-down

There's no letters N & O

I'll erase them from today

There's no need to think too hard

The answer is YES YES YO

You bring out my hidden selfishness

Your eyes and my curiosity about you

Make my heart burning

My heart burn burn burn

You better hurry up

To make it simple, whatever you choose, you will be with me

Though it may seem a bit absurd

Though you might say I'm insisting you

I'll make you to never regret

Don't know what you'll choose, so I prepared these options

Choose only one of the two YES or YES?

Don't know what you want, so I prepared these options

Make your choice come on YES or YES?

I will say no to your no

Is it me or us?

I respect your choice

But reject your rejection

There is only one answer, the choice is up to you

Now, it's all up to you

Maybe not

(No! No!)

Maybe yes

(No! No!)

Make it more clearly, show me how you feel

Open your ears. Don't you hear it?

It's!

Simple!

Y! E! S!

Hey!

Choose only one of the two YES or YES?

Make your choice come on YES or YES?

Here is one more YES or YES or YES

Take your pick, the choice is up to you

Don't know what you'll choose, so I prepared these options

Choose only one of the two YES or YES?

Don't know what you want, so I prepared these options (I prepared it baby)

Make your choice come on YES or YES?

I will say no to your no

Is it me or us?

I respect your choice

But reject your rejection

There is only one answer, the choice is up to you

It's all up to you

Make your choice come on YES or YES?

Hear or Listen? Borrow or Lend? | Confusing Verb Pairs in English - Duration: 13:04.

Boom! Here we go!

Guys! Guys, guys, guys! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

It is Christmas Day

The end of Christmas Day. It's 20 to 7. That's almost

6:40 and

I am

about to go out and shoot some birds and by shoot I don't mean... I mean use a camera to

Shoot some photos of some birds and I thought it would be time

It would be time in the drive down to Queenscliff where I'm going to talk to you about

Tricky verb pairs

in English.

So, I was just having a discussion with my wife, Kel, and I was trying to discuss or trying to ask how I can say

to loan something to someone in

Portuguese, and she was saying the verb to me which is the same as to rent, right? Okay. So, I'll use some Portuguese

Alugar is a verb that means to rent. So, at the moment, we are alugando our house,

We are renting our house

And I was asking her, but how do I say that the owner of the house is loaning the house to us?

Or he's renting the house to us

I guess you could also say and she said oh, alugar

para alguém

To rent for someone literally

And I was like what? So, they use the same verb in that sense?

You can rent from someone, you can rent to someone, I guess we do that

but we would also use the verb in English to loan and I guess that one, ironically

enough, that one can be used in both directions. You can loan a book from a

library, and you can loan something to, the library loans the book to someone so, even

I'm just figuring this out

So, if you want to add direction, I guess there with those sorts of verbs if in doubt, from obviously shows you the direction

right? From goes to you, goes from someone to you, to shows the direction from which

the thing is going so, if I rent something to someone

That shows that I am the person who owns the thing and I'm renting it to the person

I'm loaning it to the person if I rent something from someone it shows that someone else owns it and they're giving it

To me. I am getting it from them. I am loaning it from them. I am renting it from them

Anyway, I don't know I'm sort of talking through this. I haven't thought deeply about it, but I thought it would be a good conversation

because

Quite often, I'm hearing people learning English. Quite often I hear you guys use verbs

The opposite way around, right? So, for instance

Someone might say ''when are you going here?'' and you would never say that as a natural

English speaker, a native English speaker whose is trying to speak naturally

You would never say go here, when you're talking about the place here, you would use come here

Go somewhere else, anywhere else that you are not, right? Or that isn't here

So, I might go to the shops, but if I say I might come to the shops the idea

Is that the person I'm talking about is already there and I'm talking about coming to that person, ok? So,

There was that come and go is a really good example

Come is towards the subject or the object, the person, the thing that you're talking about, you come towards that thing

Go is usually away from the thing that you're told talking about to somewhere else and

There are some other verb pairs like this. So for instance you might say

What was the other one? Let me think let me think borrow and lend, right?

This is one that gets a lot of people as well

Now, unlike loan and rent,

you can't add to or from to the end of either of these verbs to mix it around. In this case if you say

Borrow something, it's always borrow something from someone

So, it's going from the person who owns that thing and you are borrowing it

That is that you get to use it for a certain amount of time without paying for it

So, for free. I might borrow a book from the library

Right? It's free. I don't have to pay the library. It's a free service

I might borrow the lawn-mower from my father

He's gonna give me the lawnmower to use, but it's still his and I need to give it back to him, right?

I'm gonna borrow the lawn-mower from my dad.

So, I borrow something from someone who lends that thing to me

So, the library lends the book to me

I borrow the book from the library. My father lends the lawn-mower to me

I borrow the lawn-mower from my father. So, it's important to know

those verbs and which sort of direction they're

They're going with regards to the subject and object in the sentence, right?

Because if you use them incorrectly it will often confuse native speakers

So, for instance, if you said I am borrowing my book to my uncle

People would be confused because they don't know you've used to, which shows that it's going from you to your uncle,

but you've used the word borrow, which shows that it's

coming from someone else to you, right? It's gonna confuse people when you mix those up the same is I

lent this book from the library people would be like

They'd understand, but often they'll have to think for a moment because it can be confusing

another example of some of these pairs

Was hear and listen. So, in this case if you hear something,

It's usually not an active process

So, at the moment, I'm driving and I can hear the wind outside. I can hear other cars

I'm not listening to their cars, though. I'm not listening for those cars

So, in this case, this is a good pair that people also confuse if you hear music, for example

It's just that you are doing whatever you're doing, and there's music playing somewhere that you can hear if you pay attention

Ah, okay. I can hear some music next door. If you're listening to some music, it's that you are actively

Listening to this music, right? You are trying to hear the music actively so, we would use the verb listen

So, that's why you will say something like you'll tell someone listen to me as in

Pay attention and hear the words that I am trying to say

Whereas if you said to someone can you hear me? That's not necessarily if they're

meant to be listening to the words

You just want to know are they able to hear you talking?

Whether or not they understand or whether or not they're listening actively, right?

So, imagine you're trying to use a microphone that you've just plugged in at a concert

You're a singer

you might say to

The person at the front of the concert hall who's playing with the buttons and playing with the levels of the sound

Can you hear me? Hello! One, two, one two, can you hear me? Testing, testing. Can you hear me?

You wouldn't say can you listen to me?

You would say can you listen to me?

If you're trying to get the person to pay active attention to what you're trying to say

Ok? So, there's minor differences between these verbs and that's why

it's weird if you say to someone for instance, ah

There was someone outside and I could listen to them

it would be like

What do you mean you were trying to listen to the words they were saying or you were just listening to them moving around actively?

But if you said there was someone outside and I could hear them

It shows that you could just hear the noises they were making, you weren't necessarily

Actively trying to hear what they were saying or actively trying to hear what they were doing

But they were making noise such that you could hear that noise

Ok? Anyway,

Those were some verb pairs that I wanted to pay a little bit of attention to for you guys on this episode today because

I've heard them get confused quite a lot by my students. Ok? So,

Let's just recap

And I'll try and remember and start from the start

If you rent something,

If you just say I'm renting the car

That would tell me that you're paying money to use that car for a period of time

If you use it with rents to someone, I'm renting the car to someone,

That shows me that

You are the car owner

Or the person in charge of the car and you are

Getting someone else to pay for it to use it for a certain amount of time. I'm renting the car to my employee

If you say I'm renting something from someone, the employee now is renting the car from you

It shows they're the ones renting and you're the one who owns it. They're renting it from you

Same thing with loaning ok? To loan

If you just say I'm loaning the car,

My first thought will be that you're paying to use the car

If you say that I'm loaning the car to someone, it tells me you own the car

You're in charge of the car and you're loaning it to a person who's paying money to use it for a certain amount of time.

And if you say I'm loaning the car from someone,

It shows that you don't own the car, you're paying money to use the car from someone who does own the car

Ok? The same with

Come and go. I'm coming means I am

Coming to the place that I'm thinking about in mind the subject location, right?

So, someone's at the beach and they might say ''are you coming to the beach? Are you coming to see me?''

Right? They're talking about the location they are as here

And they want to know if you're going to come to them

If you want to know if you should go to the beach,

so, should I go to the beach later or

Maybe should I go to the shops? You're thinking about that location as not here. It's it's there, it's not in the location

You're currently at so, you want to go to that location, ok? So that's how we'll use those differently. Come here go there

Come here, go there

What were the other ones? So we had come here, go there, we had

loan and rent

We also had borrow and lend. So, you borrow something from someone

so, you're the one borrowing the thing from someone so you get that thing for a

Period of time for free, you don't have to pay to use it, you're borrowing it

If you lend something to someone, you're the one who owns the thing and you're allowing someone else to use it

You're giving the thing to them for a period of time for free. I'm lending the car to my friend

He's borrowing the car from me, ok? So, again, they imply

directionality in that relationship and the last one was hear and listen

To hear something is

for you to perceive that thing with your ears, but not necessarily actively, like you're trying to

Listen in that case, listen would be the active verb, hear is the passive verb so, I can hear some noises

But I might listen to the words you're saying, I'm listening to you so, I can understand everything you say because I'm paying close attention

Anyway, guys, I hope you enjoyed this episode

I know that these verbs are pretty confusing

The best way to get to know how to use them is to just keep using them, using them, using them. Write out sentences guys

make up stories, have conversations with friends, just

Practice, practice, practice and revise, revise, revise. If you forget what they mean

This happens to me all the time with verbs in Portuguese. Don't stress, learn them again

Say them out loud, create some sentences, write something down

Try and use them if you've forgotten them and you have to look them up again, and then, you know, just let the process

Do its work. It'll take time

it takes a lot of practice, but

Slow and steady wins the race. Just keep working, guys. Anyway, I'm almost there

So, I'm gonna go shoot some photos and I'll chat to you soon.

See ya!

Is Airbnb or VRBO Cleaning the Right Niche For You? - Duration: 7:16.

Should you have a cleaning niche?

That's a great question and we're going to talk about it today.

Hi there, I'm Angela Brown and this is Ask a House Cleaner.

This is a show where you get to ask a house cleaning question,

and I get to help you find an answer.

Now today's show is brought to us by TurnoverCleaningTips.com

And that's a website with a bunch of resources for people in the Airbnb industry, who have

a vacation rental by owner, or it's a short-term rental, or it's just a vacation rental, or

a cabin up in the mountains that you rent.

And it's for the people that do the cleaning of those turnover spaces.

So you've got a guest coming in,

you've got to turn it over and get it ready for the next guest.

If you do turnover service, you want to you to check TurnoverCleaningTips.com

There's a bunch of resources on there.

There are cleaning tips, there are podcasts, there are blogs.

There's a whole bunch of fun stuff on there that will help you with your short-term rental

business.

All right, on to today's show, which is from Nikki who has this question.

Nicki: Hi Angela, I own a cleaning business in San Diego, California.

My question for you today is, would you recommend a cleaning company to focus on a certain niche

when it comes to clientele?

I ask this because the bulk of my business comes from short-term vacation rentals.

I have about 30 units with one property management company and they want to continue to give

me more.

But I do have some residential clients ... from about eight to 10.

But I just feel like it's best for me to focus on building with different property management

companies, because this is where I shine the most.

And this brings my company massive revenue.

So would you say it's best to just focus on a certain niche and just grow from there?

Thanks so much, Angela.

I appreciate all your work.

Angela Brown: All right Nicki, I love your question, and it sounds like you've already

answered it.

If the majority of your business is coming from short term rentals, my suggestion is

that you've already found your niche.

And I would stay there.

Now, sometimes you search for a niche, and sometimes it finds you.

And so, it's interesting, because you have a choice.

You can always accept what finds you, or you can go chasing after something else.

It's always easier to let something find you.

Now it sounds like you're in an area where there's a lot of vacation rentals, and if

that is the case, and you are able to manage all of the different properties that are coming

your way, then boo-yah.

You're in the right place at the right time.

Now, they say, this is a Chinese philosophy, that resting things are easier to catch.

What that means is that if you go chasing after somethings,

oftentimes it will elude you.

So you go chasing after business.

And you go hunting down ... let's say residential cleaning.

Which are your by-weekly and maintenance cleans in this particular scenario.

And then it's harder to find those particular customers.

But why do you need those if somethings already come to you.

When you stop chasing, things come to you.

It's like the little dog.

The guy's out chasing his dog, calling and calling and the dog's nowhere to be found.

But when he stops calling and he ignores the dog, the dog come racing up to him and rubs

his body up against the guys leg and is like, "Ahhh.

Here I am."

Right?

So resting things are easier to catch.

Meaning, don't spend all your energy and resources chasing after something else when you've already

found a niche.

All right in the Airbnb industry there's a lot of that's stuff going on.

And we know that most ... and the majority of the cleaning is from 10 o'clock in the

morning until about three o'clock in the afternoon.

That's when guests are leaving, and the new guests are going to arrive.

So there's this weird little window where you have to come in and pull up all the sheets

and the linens, and do the laundry, and pick up all the food, and dust and vacuum and reset

everything for the next guest.

Now, if you are one person, it's going to be hard to maintain lots of properties.

But if you have multiple people, and this is not necessarily a maid service.

This might be working with lots of house moms.

Or a group of moms whose kids are in school during the day.

Their kids go to school, let's say at eight o'clock in the morning, and they get back

at 2:30 in the afternoon.

So they have this chunk of time during the day where they could pick up a couple of Airbnb's,

or one Airbnb, and they do that particular one every single time.

And if you have two or three of those types of house cleaners that are specific to what

you are doing, then what happens is, if you someone has, let's say a two day minimum.

They are going to be needing to turn their place three times a week, I guess.

So, usually, maybe three or four, but maybe it's only once.

So you might have work for them every day, or you might not.

At which point, you would put them on a different property.

So if you have two or four properties in a hub, you want two or three people so they

can rotate their schedules, and someone is always available for that quick turn.

So, it's a great niche.

And believe it or not, it's booming.

It is a huge element in business right now.

Especially in the house cleaning business.

Because there are a lot of Airbnb hosts that are doing so well as being hosts and super

hosts, that they are not staying on their one property.

They are investing in other properties and before you know it, they've got five or 10

properties that they are managing.

And a wise person will have multiple units in the same area.

So that they can hire a team of people to go in and manage that area.

Now if you are doing Airbnb cleanings, or VRBO cleanings, or whatever you want to call

those cleanings, the turnover service.

When you do those cleanings if you will stay in one geographic hub.

Just like you would a regular house cleaning business, that's even tidying down your niche.

Here's the reason why.

Let's say you ask everybody in this area, this very concentrated area, who do you know

who does this cleaning service?

They are going to recommend you.

But if you're scattered all over the city, nobody really gets to recommend you, and know

you as the go-to person, because it's impossible for you to maintain a particular area if you're

scattered all over.

So you don't want commute time because the window's very narrow, when you're going to

be able to get and clean those houses.

So you stay in your one concentrated area, and become that known person.

If you have a management company, and you're not a quite management company yet, you're

still ... it sounds like a maid service.

But if you're a management company, do you want somebody that lives and works in the

area, or do you want somebody who's managing you from 2,000 miles away?

The answer is no.

I want the boots on the ground.

I want the person that's there and can run over there if something malfunctions, and

they can see with their eyes.

And they can tidy things up, or they can help in the case of an emergency.

You want the person that's local.

And right now, Nicki, you are that person.

It sounds like this is your business.

And this is your calling.

So boo-yah.

You are in the right place at the right time.

And yes, I would say yes, stay with your niche.

All righty.

If you found this helpful, please recommend it to a friend or share it.

And until we meet again,

leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.

What's the subject and what's the object (if there is one) in these sentences ?

For example: the dog drinks the water

The dog is performing an action: he's drinking

So "the dog" is the subject

The water isn't doing anything

It's just receiving the action performed by the dog

so it's the object

The dog eats the food

The dog eats the food [The dog: subject - the food: object]

The food is good

The food is good [the food: subject]

The child eats the apple

The child eats the apple [the child: subject - the apple: object]

The apple is green

The apple is green [the apple: subject]

HIRED OR FIRED: TOUR AMBASSADOR FOR A DAY - Duration: 18:05.

Are you excited to explore Gardens by the Bay?

Come, say it with me! Gardens by the Bay!

Gardens by the Bay!

Hi everyone, welcome to another episode of Hired or Fired.

As you guys know, we filmed so many episodes and it is getting harder and harder to come up with an interesting occupation.

So today, we actually got the help of BGC Group, a recruitment firm.

And they found me a job at one of Singapore's most famous landmarks.

And that is Gardens by the Bay!

And I'm going to be a Tour Ambassador!

My first impression of a tour ambassador..

Eh lai lai lai, gather in five ah.

Okay, look at this flower. Very beautiful.

You know what is it?

I also don't know but nevermind.

The reason why I choose to act out right, is because they are always very loud, very Rara.

Today my job is to do exactly whatever I just described.

Have a statement piece, be Rara and also be very knowledgeable.

Hi, I'm Jax. And I'm a senior executive at Garden by the Bay.

I'm part of the front line team that provides pleasant and enjoyable experience for our visitors.

My job scope includes providing front line service at various touch points in the gardens.

Gardens by the Bay is a horticultral theme attraction that provides experience quite unlike any other in Singapore and the world.

Hi, I'm Xenia.

Hi, I'm Jax and I'm the Senior Executive at Gardens By The Bay.

I see.

So today, you will be our tour ambassador and you will conducting a tour for 15 to 20 mins, to a group of 5-20 people.

So afterwhich, you will be stationed at our information counters.

And then, you will provide information to our visitors who are in need.

Before that, I will have to learn.

So... let's go!

Hi Xenia, I'm Debbie.

Hi hi.

Nice to meet you.

I'm from the education team at Gardens by the Bay.

Basically taking you through the basics of how to conduct a tour of the floral display.

Is it difficult?

Its okay, I think you will get a hang of it.

Right now, it's actually our Christmas display that is happening. It's called Pointsettia Wishes, featuring Disney Tsum Tsum.

So we walked around the exhibit, and Debbie really imparted alot of knowledge to me when it comes to plants, flowers , Christmas and even Tsum Tsum.

So at that moment, it almost felt like 'OMG I'm going to take an exam that I completely forgot about.

So I'm going to just cramp all the information in my head.

And I think she could tell that I was abit overwhelmed, so she was like 'Don't Worry Xenia, there are hints all around, which will help facilitate your tour later.'

Once I heard that, I was like ' Aiya, open book test! Study for what! Confirm can one la!'

Do you feel prepared?

Yes! Princettia, Poinsettia, Amryllis, Colorado Spruce Blue.

Blue Spruce!

You will be given 30 minutes.

Just try to remember some key facts for each plant.

Lets go study!

This is...

flower field.

Ah! I already forget this one.

The trumpet one called what ah?

This is called...

The...

This is called the Amryllis!

Here you see, it's called Poinsettia.

Right?

Where's the -?

Where's the?

Where's the hint?

Flower petals is actually not the flower petals!

It's modified leaves.

So, the flower is actually in the middle!

Mind Blown!

This Poinsettia wishes right, has been taken over by Tsum Tsum.

Tsum Tsum right?

Som Sum?

So, even though it is cabbage ...

Yawning ah?

Eh my producer yawning oi

For this plants, they are dioecious.

The male parts and the female parts grow separately.

So...animals and human beings got male and female right?

Plants also have male and female.

So they are all female.

I guess?

So they...

Okay, come lets move on.

Oh my God, It's not easy.

I think I should just sit down and study first okay.

Leave me alone. Eh!

'Leaf' me alone! Get it?

Leaf.

Cut!

Okay right now guys, I'm very very nervous.

With the amount of information that I have to squeeze into my little brain,

it's abit difficult la.

Here I am being all nervous.

I can't be myself, you see.

I'm not like happy, I'm just frowning.

And here like badoom badoom very fast.

Ah Ma, hao! (Hello, Ah Ma)

Hello!

Hi everybody, my name is Xenia.

Because of my height and because of the crowd, I'm afraid that you won't be able to spot me.

So, I'm going to wear this okay.

Today, we're gonna go to Poinsettia Wishes.

So, Poinsettia Wishes are invaded by Tsum Tsum.

Do you guys know about Tsum Tsum?

They are like Disney characters but they are in stackable forms.

The first plant you will see here is called Amryllis.

Ah Ma, can you see?

Look at this!

This is pretty, isn't it?

It's red and huge.

When I started the tour, I basically freaked out.

So I just brisk walked the entire tour.

It was so fast that my visitors are very far behind me.

And also, I went so fast that I accidentally, or intentionally, skipped alot of the flowers because I don't know!

I forgot about the facts already!

I just want to like get it over and done with.

So..I just smoked my way through.

This is also another Christmas Tree.

What's so different is it has a slightly blue-ish tone.

This is called Colorado Blue Spruce.

And once again, it's decorated with lights and It's a feast for your eyes.

I feel like the grandma is left out.

But I don't know how to explain in Chinese.

What is this called?

Kalanchoe is it?

Kalanchoe

Or Colorado?

Kalanchoe!

Kalanchoe! Kalan...

Cauliflower!

The red little flowers, they are very pretty right?

These are called Kalanchoe.

When it comes to winter, for countries that enjoy the four different seasons,

Think of it as like a very low maintenance friend.

This flower grows in dry conditions, can!

Grow in less humidity condition, can also!

This blooms in Winter in such a beautiful color!

So it's red, it's white!

So we can see the white one right in front.

Oh my God, I'm stumbling on my words.

What other plant?

What other plant?

Plant

This is called Poinsettia Red Glitter.

So it comes with...

comes in alot different color

and shapes

Is it shapes?

Comes from alot different shapes?

I don't know man..

I hope you guys enjoyed the tour as much as I had giving.

It's actually my first time.

Thank you!

See, he's a tour guide!

I'm a tour guide.

For 2 years.

and then he said I'm good eh!

Ya, you're good!

you did the basic things that needed to be done.

I really like you

Aiyoh!

So how was the tour for you guys?

It was fun actually!

Her tour was pretty good.

Could tell that she was nervous sometimes but she continued on.

Maybe she needs abit more practice.

so after the first tour, I know for sure I'm going to be nervous.

So i set 3 goals for myself for the next one.

And that is -

Number 1, mask my nervousness

I have this nervous laughter

So I got to fake it till I make it ok!

And secondly is, make sure that the tour I'm giving is like a 2-way communication.

Instead of me just giving them a lecture about Christmas, about flowers, which is boring!

and number 3, that is to make sure that everyone is includedd when I walk.

I make sure that I hand signal because for some reason, people really don't follow you when you walk.

Hi, hi everyone!

And I'm Xenia, I'm going to be your tour ambassador.

Because I am quite short, I'm going to put this on!

You can laugh at me yeah!

I want you to be happy.

Come follow me.

We are celebrating Christmas with the adorable Tsum Tsum.

Your daughter is gonna like it.

Do you guys know Tsum Tsum ?

Yes!

Name me one tsum Tsum character!

Mickey Mouse?

Yes! Mickey Mouse!

Mickey mouse!

Yes, you got it!

Not copying her at all!

when is Christmas?

Yes!

25th december!

Very smart!

Yay highfive!

Okay, 25..

ouch!

So today this tour, I will provide you with information and you will

understand the meaning behind why the christmas tree even exist.

This is actually called Poinsettia.

It is a symbol for christmas.

so when people see it, when they that christmas is coming!

It is very pretty !

It is in a very intense red color.

and we also have this

this is very similar to which plant?

Poinsettia

Yes Poinsettia!

So this is called Princettia

How you differentiate it is,

this is slightly smaller and the color is also different.

You can spot it for yourself and you tell me whether you can spot it.

I'll give you another highfive!

But you cannot slap my palm

okay?

How do you guys spend your christmas?

We go on holiday!

Oh okay! Like where?

We go to Sri Lanka because that is where our grandparents are from.

Aww so cute.

So what do you do there?

We have dinners.

Okay, that's always nice!

Wait ah, lets have everybody.

Yup, you can take a few pictures..

but you must have me included.

Just now Joelle was sharing with me how she celebrate christmas

And she say she will go to Sr iLanka and have a family dinner

And it is a very warm feeling knowing that hey, you can sit around with your loved ones

So, I'm ending my tour by introducing to you a small flower but its very pretty

It is called British rose.

Just a quick test, do you watch Powerpuff girls?

I've seen it but I don't remember.

Okay, so when I say Blossom, Buttercup, who else am i msising?

Eh no!

Blossom, Bubbles, who else am i missing?

I gave you a hint!

No?

Buttercup?

Yes! Buttercup!

It belongs to the buttercup family.

So if you can see, there is a white one here.

there's also a green one here.

And they also bloom during winter, through to spring.

thank you so much for joining me on this tour!

Merry Christmas!

Thank you!

Go ahead and take pitcure!

You want to take picture with me also can

I think she was very good

She wasn't as nervous

And she knew alot about the different plants

she was very engaging.

Like my little cousin really liked her alot!

So, it's the end of my second tour and i feel alittle bit more confident.

It's still difficult eh, as a tour ambassador

Even if you are Rara, their responds might not be what you envision.

You would imagine asking them a question would be very easy to answer.

But some of them really just too shy to answer.

You have to like improv from there.

I think that, I'm still a newbie.

Okay Debbie, So i am done with my first and second tour of the day,

How do you think I did?

there was a great improvement

During the first tour,

you were alot more nervous

the pacing was alittle bit off.

For the second tour, you really managed to incorporate alot more content.

you shared the information more confidently.

You added alot personal touches, so you tried to engage.

Could tell from their faces that they enjoyed the tour

Yay! Really?

You bring alot of energy and passion and excitement.

So I'd say that you did a really great job!

Yay!

So for the next job, we'll have you stationed at the visitor information counter.

Okay, lets go!

Hi,

So are you ready for your second role?

Yes!

So you're going to be our visitor information associate.

Over here, you will need to be able to answer general enquirers

Okay lets go!

This is one of our information counters here

And lets grab a map to helo you learn more about Gardens by the Bay.

sure!

For people who knows me right, I'm really bad at directions.

I'm guessing we are somewhere here.

Shuttle stop

Nope

Not exactly..

Yup! So this is how lost I am most of the time here in Singapore

it's crazy because instead of asking for directions, now i'm supposed to be the one giving the directions

For Jax, his standard is really high.

He wants me to give very specific instructions to be like....

Okay, if you want to go to Satay to the Bay right.

Satay to the Bay?

satay by the Bay?

You see! Cannot say wrong also!

you need to go straight, it's a 7-9 mins walk and then...

(bla bla bla)

I'll have to try to do that.

So besides this, what else do I have to learn?

We're going to teach you how to assist our visitors on how to use the mobile charging station.

so I would say that eveything went well...

Until...

Ehhh!

Oh my God!

You can put your device...

Anybody..

Sorry!

Be gentle

with the equipments.

okay?

Okay! I'm going to start my one hour shift and I am super well-prepared.

Whenever they ask me right,

I'm going to pull out one relevant one.

Sorry you want a map?

This is my tactic!

Since I don't have the information, I'll be resourceful!

Eh!

What the..

So much for being resourceful

Do you need help?

I wanted to know about the christmas wonderland?

Christmas Wonderland is here

Where should I get the ticket?

You can go straight

And then on your left side, you should see a ticketing counter

Pasar Malam?

The Pasar Malam. Satay by the Bay is it?

Ya

Ah Satay by the Bay, abit far.

But you walk straight, you'll see a bridge.

You cross the bridge right, 7-10 mins walk.

Okay?

Thank you Darling.

No Problem

Bye bye!

Not bad! Not bad! Not bad!

She ask Pasar Malam right, I'm guessing its more likely she meant food stalls insideChristmas Wonderland.

Oh!

Yeah, so you directed her to the opposite direction.

Okay wait, so christmas Wonderland got pasar malam?

Oh for the last time I'm going to hold this.

Hi, can I help you?

Ya, can I have a brochure or something?

Ya sure, you want the map?

This is the map.

Well, I'm not informative but I'm resourceful

You want to see the lights?

What is the best place to sit?

Okay, maybe I will have to rope in my colleague.

He is more experienced to help you

Come come!

You can consider going to circular lawn

it is a very good spot for you to sit down and relax and have a nice view of the light show.

Thank you very much!

no problem! bye bye!

So the first part of the shift was me getting approached by visitors who are lost and have questions for me

So I set an aim So I set an aim

I wanted to take more initiative and approach them instead

Hi do you need help?

What?

Oh no, i thought you need help.

ooppss

Hi, do you need help?

Don't want?

You want some brochures?

I sh...

Okay

It's Tsum Tsum!

Okay!

Yay!

Tsum Tsum!

You see, got Tsum Tsum then you want.

Here!

Oh you don't want ah?

Also can!

Are you excited? to explore Gardens by the Bay?

Come, say it with me!

Gardens by the Bay!

Wow, very good!

Ah, you must see the Tsum Tsum.

You come 10 times then never see the Tsum Tsum then you walk away now.

I never go 10 times.

If you go 10 times, then I will be abit worried.

You're so young eh.

Its ok!

When you grow older, you will reach 10 times.

Nice

Old people don't like to say bye

Young people also don't like to say bye

Okay! So I'm done with my shift

How do you find me as a visitor information associate?

Hmm.. I think not too bad

Not too bad only?

Three words only?!

Okay nevermind, what about overall?

Because you've seen me tried being a tour ambassador and also a visitor information associate here at Gardens by the Bay.

Can you describe me in two words?

Enthusiatic

okay!

hardworking!

Ohh, I was expecting pretty or something

its fine!

you really put in alot of effort to study the content

you achieve quite a fit.

then how can that be not too bad?

that is very very good.

I think it's because you didn't have enough time.

so we only had a day together.

I was about to say for the first time, I'm not as nervous asking him that important question.

But now after he say not too bad and then he tell me what to work on, now I a bit nervous already.

But nevermind!

Time for the important question.

Would you, hire or fire me?

I would..

Oh my God!

Hire you!

Yay wah!

You purposely one lor! Wa very good actor eh.

At first like shy shy just now, then now like want to play with my feelings.

Why would you hire me?

You are very enthusiastic when you approach visitors.

You make them very happy.

You answer questions and enquirers to your best knowledge.

I feel like that's one thing I took away from you.

the whole time, my moto was 'Fake it till you make it'

But for this right, it concerns their experience here.

So we should always try our best to be accurate.

I feel like I learned things that I don't even realize as a visitor.

And I had alot of fun, guiding a tour as a Tour Ambassador!

I really really feel very happy today.

Thank you so much!

I'm glad you enjoyed your time here with us today.

Thank you, Xenia!

No problem!

But all of this wouldn't be possible without the help of my recruitment agency _ BGC Group.

I started by applying to BGC Group online and then met up with my consultant for an interview.

After which, I was shortlisted and in just 1 week,

I'm here working as a Tour Ambassador at Gardens by the Bay!

The entire process was really simple, fuss-free and effecient.

And they really found a job that suit my personality.

If you want to know more about BGC Group, you can find more information in the description box below.

For students who are looking for a temporary job during your holidays, this is your chance!

And don't forget to refer to your friends and families because

you get to stand a chance to win up to $50 cash vouchers if they are successfully hired!

Don't say I bojio ah!

Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 review: Should you buy or upgrade? - Duration: 7:40.

the question we're gonna answer today if you own a surface laptop is the surface

laptop - worth the upgrade Microsoft recently launched the surface laptop -

and we've just finished our review it's the successor to the surface laptop one

which has introduced a year ago now if you're looking at both of these you'd be

hard-pressed to tell a difference because they're almost exactly the same

machine let's go through the specs so this is the same machine as far as

dimensions are concerned the weights exactly the same 2.80 pounds the screens

the same 220 256 by 1580 stretching across thirteen and a half inches and

the battery life is the same as well what's different is two things one there

is the very nice black color which i think is actually a synthetic leaked

white praising we were talking about this before the burgundy is nice as well

but the black adds up sort of that added sort of bit of style to it all and then

there's an eighth-generation core processor inside this there is the Core

i5 8250 U which is a KB link our product

now if we look at the ports they are essentially the same and what we had

previously on the surface laptop or a service Ridge '''l service laptop is we

had the original surface connector and then we had USB a a mini display port

and a headphone jack that's fine for right now in fact many peripherals right

now including an older hard drives are still on USB type a but the surface

laptop and the surface laptop 2 are designed for students and you can

imagine that a student's going to be using this over the course of two or

three or four years so one of the port's they have left out becomes a little bit

more crucial and that's USB see you'll find that on many other devices at this

point in time yes USB C does require a dongle to go ahead and connect to older

devices but it's a forward-looking port and you can imagine that over time there

are going to be more and more peripherals being manufactured as

standard the other thing that the you lose with the surface laptop both the

first generation and generation is a microSD slot that is

restricted to the surface pro tablet line and again if your pictures are

going straight from your phone in the cloud you might not miss it but if you

have a an SLR or something of that sort you want to go ahead and transfer photos

manually you might want to have to find a dongle we're up for another machine

let's address the performance issue now if we look at the first generation and

the second generation on certain tests they are almost identical on certain

tests there's a great gap between the two of them Microsoft recently

introduced the October 2018 update and we run tests three times on the first

two tests we happen to get the older update the march of the April update on

the third test Microsoft actually forced the update to the October 2018 update

this is only significant because scores dropped on this by about seven percent

on the older PC mark test those measure home and office in a work environment

and if you're looking strictly at the result of those tests this is actually

this faster machine slightly again probably indicative of some concerns

with PC mark but also some indications that the two machines are fairly close

together however if we look at the more in-depth and synthesized benchmarks we

see a greater disparity Cinebench for example 71 percent difference between

this and this that shows that when you're talking about computationally

intensive tasks this is really the machine to choose from handbrake which

is a video transcoding test we use that to transcoding Hollywood length movie

into a format that can be used in an android tablet and this was actually 39

percent faster if you look at 3d graphics again seventh generation eighth

generation we're seeing a 21 percent difference can you play games in this

the answer is yes depending upon what you're playing you don't want to go

ahead and use try to force something like Call of Duty but if you're talking

about League of Legends or something that's where this will just run this

will run just fine now the other thing that really differentiates the surface

laptop line and reason that we really love the first

generation machine was battery life and for that machine you got over 10 hours

other difference we have in between the first and second generation machines we

haven't talked about is the fact that the first generation machine used

Windows 10s or Windows 10 and s mode this goes strictly to Windows 10 home or

if you opt for a business environments Windows 10 Pro Windows 10s actually

added about an hour to battery life on this and really helped it but if you

compare the two using Windows 10 home again actually what you saw and someone

surprisingly is that this actually outclassed this in terms of battery life

there's a reason for that the battery sizes are essentially the same 42 watt

hours however we kind of got a bit of a cherry pick machine here and that the

actual battery size was about 44 almost 45 watt hours where this was

actually 42 so in terms of battery life again about 10 hours this happened to be

a little bit more expect about 10 hours of total battery life our other machine

what it boils down to is this again are you should you if you have a surface

laptop opted for the service laptop - I would say no if you already own a

surface laptop the performance is probably close enough for the tasks that

you're doing that you don't need to pay extra for this machine we should also

mention at the price as well this happens to be a machine that cost 999

dollars for the minimum price what this machine was actually tested at was

$12.99 this off charges about $200 for the black version part of that is taken

up by the fact that the minimum amount of capacity amount of storage for this

is 128 gigabytes this particular black version is only offered in 256 gigabytes

so you're getting a little bit more for your money again though you're paying a

little bit just for the premium of having an athletically pleasing mobile

in a surface laptop I thought the original service laptop was an excellent

machine the problem is Microsoft had

opted to simply tweak the surface laptop and create the surface laptop to its

competitors have not they've aggressively forged ahead and in fact I

would actually recommend a couple of machines over the surface laptop -

there's the HP spectre x360 13 T and then there's the most recent Dell XPS

which is the 9370 which was released in late 2017 the late 2017 dell XPS

really embraces USBC again you'll have to have a dog little go ahead and

connect an older devices the HP Spectre is a little bit less performant a little

bit less has a little bit less horsepower under the hood

however again we're in the same ballpark the battery life is excellent for both

machines and the prices are great as well HP especially during the holidays

was really taking their price of their 360 down by quite a bit so what do I

think of the surface laptop - it's a great machine it's a good machine it's a

solid machine but if you're looking for the best machine you have to look

elsewhere

Can foreigners kiss or hug Japanese? How far Japanese boys and girls go when greeting a foreigner - Duration: 11:44.

I'll kiss you like this. - I am super nervous.

Hello! Nice to meet you! - Nice to meet you!

Hey guys it's Cathy Cat on Ask Japanese, this time we are gonna go and hit the streets of Tokyo

to find out if it's actually ok to hug a Japanese person or even

to give them a kiss on the cheek. Don't forget, hit the subscribe button

for more video from Japan and click on the notification symbol

so you don't miss it. Let's go and Ask Japanese.

When I went to France, people greeted me by giving me a

light kiss on the cheek like this. Can you do that?

Well ... maybe if it was a girl. - Me too, only if it was a girl.

I can't do that. - Girls only.

Let's test that. Are you ready? It's a light one

you barely are touching cheeks and kiss the air. I'll do it slowly ok?

Like this. - I am super nervous.

I am coming over.

Oooooh how was that. - I was so nervous. - Me too

actually I was nervous too. - This was the first time for me. I was nervous!

I was totally nervous. - Can you do that with your Japanese friends?

That would be impossible! - No way! - Oh no...

Looking at everyone else, what do you think?

It's difficult to do that in Japan. - Is it different from receiving a hug?

The face is closer than when you hug, and it makes me think of kissing.

It's really different. - Do you ever get the face

of your friends this close? - Never really.

And now that it happened?

I was totally flustered. - It's tough. Could you kiss someone on the cheek?

Difficult for me... - Why so?

I have never done something like that. Meeting and kissing as greeting.

I have never done it. - No experience. - Yes.

How far could you go when greeting a foreigner

handshake, hugs or a kiss on the cheek. First the handshake. - No problem

High Five. - I could go all the way.

All the way. - So kissing is ok? - Totally fine.

How are the hugs? - Hugs... difficult for me...

Difficult? - If I had to, I could join. - If it was a spur of the mood thing.

Yes. - And kisses on the cheek? - I would dislike that.

But you could do that. - Oh yeah. - You're "oh yeah" all the way,

Hello nice to meet you!

Nice to meet you!

You went like OOOOOHHH

So how do you feel now? - Totally good.

You're fine? - Girls are alright. - Good

I was worried for a moment if I could hug you. - Girls are ok.

Your hugs were very kind but...

kind of distant. As if you're wondering if you're doing it right. - That's true.

Do you three guys hug?

That's a no then.

So the men are no good? - This man over here is up to no good

He is a definite no. How was the hug for you?

It was normal. - You said hugging wasn't ok?

Well, generally in my private life it is, but this is for TV so...

people watching might enjoy this.

So you only did it for our video? - Yes. - Were you surprised?

Well I could see you were coming and I kept my distance

I didn't want to hug you tight. - That's something you won't do.

How was it for you?

Best day ever. - Good? - I am not used to this. I got excited.

Do you hug your Japanese friends? - No - Nope

Not at all. - Even girls?

We don't really hug. - How about kisses on the cheek?

Well... probably difficult. - Difficult. - And you? - Impossible.

Not today.

If I met you tomorrow? - Then it might be ok.

Is it difficult for people you met for the first time? - If foreigners suddenly came in for a kiss...

it might be a bit too much for me.

Have you ever kissed your friends in Japan?

I often see boys kiss each other. - Boys?

They do. Mouth to mouth. - We don't. Only when we are drunk.

We do it in the spur of the moment.

We do that stuff when we are drinking.

So in a fun situation. - You would like to see that right?

Sure I'd like to. But you are not drunk now. Can you?

You can. - We can't. - Looks like they can't.

Here comes the question. So when the boys are drunk, kissing becomes ok

When friends come up to you, can you hug boys? - We totally can.

In the "long time no see" way. - Cool start! - What?

Hey it's Yuuta!

Wheeee

That was perfect. Great acting. - We are very connected.

So you also have hand gestures for greetings?

We just came up with it. - I thought that was your thing. -Spur of the moment.

When you greet people intimately like this, how do you feel?

I feel excited. - It's fun.

When you meet foreign people, how far do you think you can go with them?

hugs and kisses on the cheek and such

how far would you be able to go with a foreigner?

I could do hugs and kisses, if they are into that.

If I get greeted with a YAY I would do it too.

How far would you be able to go? - All the way.

I just said all the way... - So if I said "Hey long time no see..." like this

you would hug and kiss me. - Yes. - During the world cup it was similar

we all gave high fives on the street and such. - In Japan? - Yes.

In Shinjuku and such. People in team's uniforms and us celebrated

We had a good time. - But not with Japanese.

I don't want to get hugged by a Japanese. Foreigners are ok.

Especially at fun events we feel its ok

..... also Foreigners might not have ulterior motives...

.... I think....

Japanese men might have ulterior motives?

I don't think Japanese wouldn't get that excited. - Do you hug your Japanese friends? - NO!

I don't either. - I don't hug men. Women are ok.

People I don't know in sports events is ok,

people I know, I would not hug.

Would you both hug? - We have made after a long time so we did.

That's good. Makes me happy.... let me join...

You're super welcome to. - I am so happy now.

You are both great at giving hugs!

Many Japanese, when they hug for the first time, but their arms far away for distance...

like this. But you gave me a good squeeze.

I liked that. You're an advanced hugger.

I am recruiting men for hugs - Do you hug your friends?

Only if we are super good friends. - I think I can hug if its a girl.

I would hug my buddies. - My besties.

Do you guys hug each other?

We do. - So if you had a foreign friend...

if they came to give you a hug, would you be ok with it? - Totally ok.

I would be ok. - I will test that now.

What? - Ready go! Long time no see... that was a good hug....

Long time no see...... you're all good at it,

Nice to see you. - How do you feel after suddenly being hugged by a stranger?

A stranger! - I am super happy. - You're cute so I am super happy.

YEAH! - I feel like we became closer. I like it.

Can you do that with a boy too? - Well...

If he is handsome I think I will be ok. - Only handsome men - No men for me,

I could not do that. - I would stop in my step,

You need some time to prepare your heart.

Thank you all for your time.

So I guess I surprised a couple of people here by randomly giving them a kiss

as a greeting. Everyone was nervous, including me.

However when you would like to hug or kiss a Japanese person gender is very important...

because they would not do the same things to a lady than they would do to a guy

There isn't a big hugging culture in Japan so please don't surprise your Japanese friends

by hugging them, always make sure that your friends and acquaintances in Japan are actually comfortable

with the physical contact. Japanese people sometimes give hugs from a large distance because it's just

personal space. We have tested more Japanese people if they can hug or kiss

foreigners, these videos are up on our channel. Click the notification symbol so you don't

miss them, because there are a couple of new ones coming out too. And don't forget to subscribe to our channel if you haven't

already. Thank you and let me know hug or kiss what is your idea greeting?

Catch you soon bye! aaah!

Who's FASTER? Super VOOC or Warp Charge 30? - Duration: 2:14.

Hey guys what's up, it's David from Pandaily again

so, really quick

all we're gonna do right now is we're gonna do a

comparative charging test between

the two fastest chargers on the market right now

the OnePlus 60 McLaren Edition

and the OPPO R17 Pro

one has got the Super VOOC Flash Charge

this one has the Warp Charge 30

so, in short

this guy charges the 50 watts

this guy charges at 30 watts

we're gonna see who charges faster, okay

they're both out of batteries right now

alright, so here we go

right now, we're just gonna do a quick test

countdown starting

right now

all right, let's take a look

it's about 10 minutes, let's see

41% for OPPO and

24% on the OnePlus 6T McLaren

all rights it is pretty clear OPPO has a

clear headstart over here

this is quite a pretty fast headstart

41% check it out

10 minutes

and guess we'll see what happens and

at about 20 minutes to see maybe if they charge to full

alright, it's about 32 minutes just take a look

oh, we're at 99%

and OnePlus 6T is currently at

72%, okay so at this point

we don't need to wait for it to reach 100%

it's pretty clear that

OPPO and its Super VOOC Flash Charge

Hello, our little friends! Let's play and learn! All aboard!

Oh, these are Hurricane and Timothy!

They will try to bring the trucks with candies up to the ramp!

Oooh! Timothy FAILED!

And Hurricane SUCCEEDED in this task.

FAIL

SUCCEED

And now let's see if Hurricane can SUCCEED in pushing all the trucks to the very finish!

So, it turned out Hurricane FAILED in pushing ALL trucks to the finish.

Oh, a couple of trucks have already said good bye to us!

Nice try, Hurricane!

This is helicopter Harold

Let's take a look at his FRONT

And now we see Harold's BACK

And this is Butch's - heavy recovery vehicle

We are looking at his FRONT

And now this is Butch's BACK

Now DART is approaching

This is his FRONT

And here is his BACK

And now Dart with his opponent Philip will figure out which one of them is faster.

So far we can see them riding pretty tight and no one wants to give it up!

Wow! What a speed!

And right before the finish Dart is shooting ahead and wins the race!

Yeah, he is a really fast engine!

Oh, here is Edward coming to us!

And Diesel is also here!

Look! They have not equal number of trucks.

Let's ADD one truck to Diesel.

ADD

And also we can SUBTRACT two trucks from Edward.

SUBTRACT

Now the engines have the same number of trucks. Well done!

Diesel has delivered his trucks to their final destination

And now he will demonstrate us his skills on this magnificent track!

Wow! It seems like all these obstacles present no challenge for Diesel!

He's breaking through the tunnels so easily!

The last tunnel... aand

oh-oh)) The finish was so close!

But anyway Diesel was quite cool today!

Marble effect background for oil or acrylic painting - Duration: 4:05.

The YouTuber DerMaler inspired me to create a marble background on poplar plywood.

I still had some instant coffee and a little bit

of wall paint left over from my last wallpapering ...

With a fur roller, the wall paint was

applied thick to the plywood.

Then I put red, black and white acrylic paint

and later my coffee as a swab.

As long as everything is still wet, the colors became

spread with a spatula in wavy lines.

Mmmhh, the coffee smells very fine.

The colors are a bit too intense for me and I add

a little bit of white acrylic.

Now it is dried and I rub with the spatula

careful everything to make it smoother.

With a thin brush I apply black lines.

The less regular the strokes, the better.

When everything is dry, I'll pull a thin layer

with white acrylic paint over the entire image area and

smoothen after drying again with the spatula and

finished is the background - I'm still thinking what I will paint on it :-)

Thank you for your interest.
