How Austin Found 300 Clients From ONE Facebook Group - Duration: 1:53.- This reminds me about our episode
when we interviewed Graham Cochrane
who also a Florida guy.
He said something that's I think blew,
it blew my mind for sure.
He said, "With an audience, anything is possible."
And that's really your story.
You built an audience and you were able
to turn that into a full time career.
How many clients would you say you've worked with
in the last year?
- Probably about 300.
- And what percentage of that has come from
that Facebook group?
- Directly from it or at least tied
to the Facebook group at all?
- Tied to it in some way. - 100%.
- That there was some sort of...
Geez.
- I have not worked with a single client outside of it.
- Yeah, I wanna actually unpack some stuff here
because you've just talked a lot
and there's so many things that people are gonna
just breeze by if I don't unpack this.
- Yeah for sure.
- Because people, immediately here's people's thoughts.
Well like, I don't have a group
to pull all those clients from.
So I wanna ask you a couple things.
First and foremost, you made a really good point
and you say people underestimate
how much work it's gonna take to go full time.
They get one paid project and all of a sudden
they think they can quit and they can't.
And that leads to a lot of frustration
for a lot of different people
because they don't understand something called deal flow.
They don't understand where these projects
are gonna come from.
The top of the funnel.
Where is all this gonna come from
and your business, your top of funnel is your Facebook group
that you curated, you created,
you facilitated the growth of
but now and actually let me go back.
You scratched your own itch to create that.
You weren't just creating it with the
grand aspirations of one day going full time
and to leech from it.
You were taking your time, your effort,
to build a group to add value to the community.

GO or NO GO? – How important is the Weather Window? – Ep 60 Sailing Luckyfish - Duration: 16:20.So alligator just took off
where did it go? I mean do they come back up again?
There it is again. That's a gator huh? Thats a big splash.... darn it....
[MUSIC]
Previously on Luckyfish we worked like crazy to splash in time for
a weather window that would take us all the way to Nestle
[MUSIC]
with Luckyfish back in the water we felt excited about the adventures that
lay ahead but sad to be saying our goodbyes to new friends we would be
leaving behind
Lew. That's slick.
Jim. Seeing as though you are in the middle of epoxy.
Robert. I like the way you got that set up.
Chris. Yeah. Sangria. She had that in her little....
Malinda. It pays to have paid crew you know.
and Tony. Put it back in the bottle....
Bruce. We smuggled 3,000 bottles of scotch in on the Chinese junk to Tahiti
Tim. In three or four minutes there won't be a piece this big
Gerry. Wee... Mongolian flag.... Ohhh!
[LAUGHS]
Brandon. Hey !!!
and Danielle. I dont think theres any alcohol in that punch
Danny. Go off and try something new
and of course Wayne Brown himself. It's just whether or not you want to be...
And to good buddy Curtis who'd been a massive help
getting back in the water on time and introducing us to the local wildlife so
So, alligator just took off. We came down to look at Danny's proa
and err.. where did it go? Do they come back up again?
he was on a ... it could have been a big turtle... oh yeah fair enough
this is the old river, coming around, through that way
there's a fishing boat just going through the grass over there
that's a weird scene
I assume he's heading towards the bridge he is
all right
There it is. Thats a gator huh. Thats a big splash.
Darn it.
Yeah. That was a big splash.
Yeah. That aint no little turtle.
Geez. I would feel very precarious sitting out there on Danny's net
[LAUGHS]
Something.... there he is. Right there
There is the gator. Right here.
Thats him
the eyes? on the water or what?
You see him out there?
hes just under the bow of that boat...
which boat the proa?
ohhh, the other one. I have gotta come over where you are then mate.
Nahhh. I cant see him eh?
Here is. Over here. Right there.
He's turned around looking at us.
oh I see yeah just below the anchor right Wow he's he's not the big one
right now that's to the little guy there's something else over there too
there might be two of them out there
See. He is there. Yeah. Thats the little one.
don't fall in now. yeah.
imagine if this dock tipped and we just
ended up in the water wouldn't you get out in a hurry with that little guy just
sitting there
it's the bridge closing
Its a beautiful morning. Yeah its a beautiful morning. We left at 5:30 from Labelle
just bumped the bottom of the port engine as we came out of the cut there
but a little bit of brute force and we pushed our way through the silt
Labelle bridge opened for us right on when he clocked on.
We caught him at 6:00
So for once we actually got away and did something on time
There is the next bridge
there's all this beautiful water front homes
5 knots. 4.9.
pretty much every one of them have this little docks, private docks. Right?
Fancy.
Next ones a swingbridge. Is it?
What's the name of it?
The next bridge is Fort Denaud.
It's a swing bridge. It's only got a vertical clearance of 9 feet.
Ooooh yeah. we need it open....
just looking at our wake there you can see in the middle of the river
the waves are moving ahead of the stuff on the edges
Okeechobee, the Lake, they are discharging water so we're getting a nice push
maybe half a knot or so if we stick to the middle of the river
so we'll certainly take advantage of that
what are you doing honey
Sailing to the moon
Its beautiful right?
Suns just coming up
Suns coming up on that side. Moons on this side.
that's a pretty river boat
we cleared customs yesterday we drove to Fort Myers and went to the airport and met
a very friendly customs and immigration official
RADIO Captain you will be clear to pass on the right hand side of the span
once the bridge is fully open
message understood thank you very much
I thank you sir
something I forgot about. Look
It's not 8. Its one hour ahead
it's 7 o'clock. 7 am
we made pretty good progress this morning it's 20 after 9:00 and we're at
Franklin Lock
Another catamaran has joined us. Zaya is up there, ready to tend her lines
ready to drop down. a foot and a half
one and a half feet we going down back to sea-level get a bit of surge in these
locks so pays to hang on to the lines and watch the side of the boat here we
here we are right in the middle of Suburbia
closing the lock gates
getting ready to open the ones on the downstream side
both just surged forward quite steadily
as the downstream lock gates opened
see the water rushing out there now
we're going backwards
Franklin Lock
I'll just change the mooring line over to the other side of the cleat
Now we're going forwards again
Zaya thinks this is all good fun
The boat's still got quite a bit of unfinished work on it
the tools are still out. that is always a bad sign
we've got a few hours now before we
reach the sea out at Sanibel bridge and probably got about six hours or so to
get the sails rigged and bolt a few of the last fittings back on again after
paint and get the boat set up for afternoon of sailing into the night be
able to shake the boat down and the daylight which is great and the weather
just is so favorable for our trip. I will try and run through what's in store over the
next couple of days but the wind looks very favorable for our run southeast
down to Marathon and then we should be in there by noon tomorrow or there
abouts nearly it's opening them up a bit faster now so the water level is almost
reached equilibrium yeah we should get to marathon around noon tomorrow barring
any hitches then the wind looks like it's going to swing in our favor for a
crossing of the Gulfstream to Bimini so if the weather forecast holds we can
leave Marathon about 6:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and make the run across
to Bimini and if the weather's still favourable and we've got daylight we
might continue onto to Nassau we'll play all that by ear generally we just
try make plans for the next leg one step at a time we were just given
instructions to exit the chamber when we're ready so we've just started the
engines and and now motoring out of the lock
arriving at Fort Myers we saw Chris's trimaran and swung by but he was not at home
where are you Chris?
Is it him?
yeah. It is his boat.
Well we just passed Fort Myers and it's so busy it's a Friday I mean don't any of these people work ?
There is so many boats on the water, many powerboats. The bigger they are....
the faster they go it's funny
big fat ones they just power straight past ya, like they've spent their whole life not
caring about other people
They get on the water with all their millions and...
its situation normal for them
but there's a few, I gotta say, in
the mid size range smaller ones don't bother us but the ones in the mid-size range
can pick up quite a trough in their wake. It pitches the boat around
and there is always one or two slow down and I get a big fat wave from us smiles but boy there is
some inconsiderate people out there
Sanibel bridge was fast approaching and beyond that the leg to marathon it was
time to finish the jobs we found a place to anchor away from the wash from other
boats rigged the sails and put the tools away at last
well it's Saturday February the 4th about 9:00 in the morning we had a good
run last night we stopped the boat after transiting down the river
to Sanibel bridge and spent about two hours just rigging
the sails before crossing under the bridge and starting our 120 miles
crossing overnight to Marathon Key and we're approaching marathon key now we're
in very shallow water that 2.1 meters under the keel and we're on the banks
behind the keys picking our way through a couple of parts of shoaling ground not
very familiar with the approach to marathon key we have to pass under the
bridge apparently and then on our left should be Boot Key marina where we will take
on some fuel and overnight and take advantage of this wind that's going to
continue to veer we've been really fortunate with the winds part of the
reason why we left Labelle when we did we saw this weather window opening up
where we'd have a brisk Norwest changing nor'easter norther came through last
night so we had broad reaching conditions initially and fairly light
winds and the nor westerly and then the nor'east filled in at about 22 23
knots and we gave the boat a good shake down flying along at between 6 and 9
knots boat speeds on a beam reach boat behaved beautifully vane steering setup
ran no problems although the ride was a bit noisy and a
bit bumpy at times got us down here really fast we're covered 160 miles or
so from Labelle and did it in under 28 hours that wind is going to continue to
veer tomorrow morning it'll move from the nor east through East and then South
around 6 a.m. tomorrow morning but to confirm that with this morning's weather
forecast the forecast yesterday evening which is just ideal I mean if we can get
a southerly boost along with the Gulf Stream north up to Bimini and that's
textbook crossing of the Gulf Stream so we'll see how that pans out and then
from Bimini we need to get across the Nassau by the 10th meet our first
guests we really couldn't have asked for a better re introduction to sailing and
a good shakedown for Luckyfish
Well the crabpots that everyone warned us about we're really thick as we were warned
all the way from pretty much Sanibel Britain we're still an amongst
them just it's incredible think there's any crabs left I mean they are just simply
everywhere
they didn't prove a problem for our boat we must have run over a few
of them but we didn't get hung up on any of the appendages which is pretty neat
we didn't run the hydro generator last night because of that reason we thought
we might get that thing hooked up in one which would not have been good
so we ran the wind genny instead all night and it did really well I mean we've got both
battery banks topped off this morning it was a very brisk breeze the wind genny was
putting out plenty of power turned it off now the Sun's up and we are just using the
solar panels to keep everything topped off
[MUSIC]
this is Boot Key harbour where we will anchor tonight and get ready to leave in the
morning for Bimini

about learning
and
house work
we must to do it
we follow him
that is a good child
when we have time from our learning
we try to help him
if he is very busy
in working
or lot of works
we should help him
try to fish work for him
that point
is good
even in school
when
Teacher gives lesson

The child always disturb him
because of money

it is not good child
sometime
someone
when they come in school and see their friends use
good phone and they take a picture or look something in class
sometime
take pictures with friends
Leave from school to complain to parents

Because some kids rarely do anything to make parents happy
never do the good things for family, only make the bad points
Some children
some of the children are not yet grow up, they they still young
they become play boys
play game

it is the bad point, not good
it is the bad point that it can destroy
the society
and family
Losing money for parents
when moey is lost
when we have the problem and policemen arrest
investigaters, they know and they arrested to the jail and make your parents lose money because of ourselves
this point that show the bad point
if we want to be good children
try to escape from this point
drugs
Games
never come to school
will be not good for future
if we don't have knowledge
don't have the abilities, what can we do ?
If have some ideas
we have some ideas, can find other jobs for earn money, it's ok.
find money for family
if we don't have ideas

will be difficult than before
it depens on parents
because we don't know what we should do
So that only parents
because we don't know what we can find?
to get money, what we can do?
what we should do for living
So, do not know who can help

How to Help a Grieving Friend? 4 Resources - Duration: 5:18.The other day a friend asked me "How can I help my friend who's struggling with
grief?" So in this video I'm gonna share four resources that you can use to help
someone you care about who's grieving. So my friend tells me about her friend whose
son passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack two years ago at the age of
22 and she's been weighed down and struggling ever since. She went to a
couple of counselling sessions but then her insurance only covered four sessions
at the time so now my friend wants to know how to help her friend move forward
with her grief so here's what I told her: So number one there's a great YouTube
and Facebook channel called "Refuge in Grief" and this therapist is making some
excellent short videos and infographics teaching people how to support others
who are grieving. I shared one of her videos recently and I'll link to it
again below but the basic idea is don't be afraid to talk about the subject. Many
people fear bringing it up because they don't want to make the other person sad
or they don't know what to say but the reality is just attempting to show that
you care and that you're thinking about them sends a good message so it's okay
to say things like "I don't know what to say but I care" or "how are you doing?" or
to bring up positive memories of their loved one. Also be careful to avoid trying
to make them feel better or saying anything that starts with "at least" as in
at least he's in a better place or at least you can have other children so
I'll include some links to more information on what you might say that
could be helpful refuge in grief also has this 30-day course called writing
your grief that could help you work through your grief it's a hundred and
sixty-five dollars and I'm not getting anything to share this or anything I
just like to connect people to resources. Okay on to number two,
so speaking of resources encourage them to reach out to resources
so to this friend I recommended a couple of local therapists who specialize in
grief work. Taking the time to speak through your grief can help make those
feelings concrete, and help you find a way to move through these feelings so
encouraging her friend to talk about her experience with her family and her
friends and taking time to share and process through those thoughts and
emotions with others can be a really crucial part of the healing process.
Number three: here's another great resource so I recently read a great book
called "no time for tears" and I don't have it to show you because I gave it
away but I loved it because it normalized the grieving process it's
written by a mother whose baby died and she discusses all the things that are
normal part of the process of grieving like insomnia loss of appetite guilt
loss of pleasure and it talks you through some of the ways that you can
move forward through that grief instead of endlessly spiraling in
despair it also discusses what it looks like when grief becomes disordered and
how to know when you need treatment for that ok so number 4 grief and loss
groups so these groups can be immensely helpful they help people connect with
others who've had similar experiences and they find strengthen them it helps
normalize the grief process and these groups often include an educational
segment teaching appropriate and healthy ways to work through grief and positive
ways to honor and remember the dead these groups are often facilitated at
hospitals sometimes they're by religious groups or counseling centers and you may
have to do a little research to find one near you one of the best things about
this resource is that most of the time these grief groups are free or low-cost
especially compared to the cost of individual therapy now you may have
noticed that I never used the term get over grief because I don't think that's
a really helpful way to talk about the grief process of course we don't want to
be stuck drowning and pain and suffering but the missing, the loving, the longing
never go away but through a healthy process the painful emotions can be
integrated into loving peaceful remembrance instead of an obstacle to
one's life. I hope these tips and resources are helpful for you if you're
trying to help someone you care about who's struggling with grief. So comment
below what do you think is the most difficult part of helping someone who's
going through grief? My mission is to help people get easy access to mental
health resources because there's a lot of them out there I hope you like this
video thanks for watching and take care

How To Lose Weight FAST in 2019 (WITHOUT EXERCISE!!) - Duration: 8:22.How To Lose Weight FAST in 2019 - How's it going guys Chris here back again from Crohn's Colitis Vitality
we're getting very close to 2019 so those of you who may have over eaten in
the Christmas holidays or are just looking to lose weight going into the
new year today I'm going to share with you how you can lose weight just through
diet alone no exercise nothing like that only through diet and especially if
you're living with a chronic illness doing this has actually helped to lower
my inflammatory markers to the lowest they've been in over a couple of years
so I really had me stay tuned I really hope it gives you some constructive
advice press the subscribe button if you're new around here because I'm
coming out with tips for Crohn's disease ulcerative colitis sufferers and loads
of other health diet and lifestyle related videos at least two or three
every single week so anyway on to this video now the main thing you want to
look at is when you look at the nutrition labels you know that standard
label where you see the macronutrients on any food in the supermarket you're
gonna see things such as the fat content the carbohydrate content the sugar
content and the protein content and what you really want to look towards
eliminating in your life is carbohydrate as much as possible now the big problem
with carbohydrate is it seems to be in every single food out there almost
you've got the grains you've got oatmeal pasta bread rice all of those bits and
pieces then you've got the starchy carbohydrates you know like bananas
you've got potatoes and then fruits which are high in sugar they were high
on the glycemic index which means they spike insulin so they're going to
contribute to you gaining weight so you want to remove them as well things such
as dairy are gonna add to this and also one of the biggest culprits are
hydrogenated oils so things like vegetable oil sunflower oil any oil you
see that turns liquid at room temperature is rancid its
pro-inflammatory it's the most inflammatory food out there you just
want those oils out of your life and instead to cook with something maybe
like a rendered animal fat or a coconut oil or olive oil
something like that MCT or all going to be so much better for you than any of
these hydrogenated oils which are going to keep the weight on you so now every
single product you pick up off the shelf at the supermarket you look down the
nutrition label and you see it's low in carbohydrate that's fantastic but what
else do you need to do to lose weight what do you need to consume because
we've been talking about foods to rule out what you want to look for if you
want to look for foods high in fats now there's two main reasons for this the
first one being that our body is designed to consume fat and to burn fat
so if we don't have any of this sugar and a carbohydrate being stored in us we
lose all this water weight and we feel really lean we get a lot more muscular
and defined if we're just consuming fat so what we need to be doing is looking
for the food labels that are high in fat and moderate in protein and the reason
that fat is so important for two different reasons is the first one being
that it gives you all those calories you need in a day and it keeps you energized
throughout the day almost gives you a frequent supply of energy throughout the
day where you don't get these energy spikes by consuming carbohydrate all day
and it allows you to actually stay satiated between meals meaning that you
don't have to consume multiple meals in a day and this is important for so many
reasons because every single time you eat you spike a hormone called insulin
and this is almost like a fat blocking hormone so if you continue to eat
frequently in a day you're not going to end up losing weight the only way you
can lose weight is by following something called intermittent fasting
where you're eating maybe once maybe twice or maybe three times in a day but
the best thing to do if you're coming off of a diet where you're eating
frequently throughout the day you're eating multiple snacks is to go down to
three meals to begin with then once you become more fat adapted and you don't
become so reliant on carbohydrate and sugar what you'll find is you'll be able
to then go longer between the meals and you'll be able to go down to two meals
maybe even one meal a day but you'll be consuming fat that will be giving you
the calorie but there will be slow burning calories
which means you won't feel fatigues and you'll be losing weight at the same time
and it will give you an absolutely awesome result so some of these foods
you'll be looking at will be things like avocado which is high in fact but plenty
of animal meats out there I've personally found the best lowest
inflammatory animal meats to be the red meat so you're talking beef steak lamb
steak maybe organ meats as well certain types of fatty fish but you are going to
struggle to follow this way of eating and lose weight if you don't consume
animal products because if you consume plant-based products you're going to be
eating them so frequently throughout the day because a lot of them are higher
glycemic meaning they'll spike insulin you have this high and love energy
within a day and you'll keep feeling hungry you'll keep feeling like you need
to eat constantly and doing that it's just gonna keep your metabolism working
it's gonna keep your bowel sluggish overall and it's going to prevent your
fat burning hormones doing the job as efficiently as they should do so really
to conclude this video all you need to look for guys is not how many calories
you don't need to be counting calories of what you're eating in a day you need
to be looking at the macro nutrient profile or food labels when you go out
and buy them so meat products are just a little one that are very simple to
follow because as long as they're not processed you look at things like ground
beef even kind of chicken but pork lamb anything like that you look on the food
label and more often than not they're quite light fats
there's no carbohydrates and they're moderate protein and they're the perfect
staple foods to consume day to day and you want to look towards removing the
high carbohydrate food anything that's going to raise insulin to block this fat
burning hormone you want to try and remove as many of those foods as you can
and adopt intermittent fasting where you start on maybe three meals a day bring
it down to two meals maybe just the one meal a day who knows but if you do this
alongside may be distressing your body because stress will actually release
cortisol which is a stress hormone which will then prevent you from losing weight
as well and also if you can exercise alongside this maybe if it's just really
slow paced walking making sure you move throughout the day I'm sure these three
things altogether are going to really help you guys to lose weight in the new
year and as I said consuming things like red meat while getting rid of certain
vegetable oils you're actually making fantastic replacements for
pro-inflammatory - anti-inflammatory foods and I've had this shown in my
personal blood tests where levels have gone down a considerable amount from
what they were only a few months ago because I've been following a primarily
meat based diet over the last few months so remember look for the food labels
that are high in fat low in carbohydrate and have a moderate amounts of protein
in and if you can try to remove the carbohydrate and the sugars from your
life as much as possible and eat in frequently throughout the day that's the
framework to helping you to speed up your metabolism to help you get energy
back and just to help you feel great going into the new year so I really
really hope this video helped you guys out and I hope it helps you to get those
inflammation markers down as well if you haven't already make sure you subscribe
and hit that like button if you enjoyed the video I really look forward to
dropping you guys plenty of new videos in the new year to help you manage your
Crohn's disease ulcerative colitis symptoms and just explaining healthy
diet and lifestyle tips so thank you so much for watching guys take care and
I'll see you again very shortly in the next video

Lupin Lessons Learned, How to do a petrol budget // SALSA EP5 - Duration: 18:29.Coco! come on in the water is fine I promise
it's warm... I don't drone flying like that in here
it's been an action-packed five days four days so far last day, hey you know
I didn't think I was really gonna learn anything from this trip coz it's all
grounded I've retreaded before but I actually did learn a few things we're
gonna share those things with you in this video before we get into all that
there's this antique shop here in Omarama, I discovered it years ago
they've got some real wacky old ancient stuff in here
look at that piece of junk how much as for? goodness, unbelievable
I do not know garbage can sell for money
you have there you have it there's no more words and more words
needed
yeah we've stayed in Omarama for four nights now and we still even been here
what visit for Omarama could be complete without a trip to the Omarama
clay cliffs, and there's lupins here too
one of the skills that I've learned for this trip is actually budgeting not just
the expenses for you know your accommodation but also petrol expenses
now there's different fuel economy calculators and things out there but
here are some general tips and advice and some guidelines on budgeting based
on petrol because when you're going to go to all these fantastic locations like
what I've been doing you've got to drive there really a lot of New Zealand is out
of the way not really accessible by bus and train. so when you fill up your car
take note of how many kilometers you've driven you know you use your trip
counter from the previous time you filled up reset that to zero then have a
look at how much it cost you to fill up so then you can divide your dollar
amount and it gets you your cost per kilometer, and then as you're planning
out your trip going from A to B one place to another you can actually work
out how much it's going to cost you per kilometer now granted that's with
current petrol prices petrol prices do change and you'll end up with a slightly
different petrol prices based on whether you go and put 91 or 95 or 98 octane in
your car or if it's diesel my car takes premium which is really either a 95 or
98 but sometimes end up putting 91 and if I fill up my car at the same time as
Coco, one other thing to note when you fill up your car with the wrong grade
petrol well you may think that you're making is saving by putting in the
cheaper 91 octane, you may potentially be losing out because you're actually
losing fuel economy in other words your car will run but you lose fuel economy
so those are my hints and tips on how to budget your fuel on a trip like this and
that's something that I've learned in this trip. to be very honest I don't
recommend flying your drone like that in here
amongst clay cliffs that's a surefire way to hit one of the rock walls lose
your drone because the you know the satellite coverage the satellite
coverage of your drone basically doesn't work in here you've got like what's
called optical vision only so you really have to maintain line-of-sight but yeah
I strongly recommend not flying a drone inside cliffs like this and if you do
put your propeller guards on they will save you if you hit the rocks
welcome to Lake Oahu, the third and final glacial lake i've toted this wet
suit around with me this whole time I haven't used it so shout going out to
seventh wave... let's go and have our final swim for the trip
Ohau... is the place to be it's so good it's so warm it's the warmest of all the
glacial lakes maybe maybe I'm not really telling the truth though with the wet
suit and all but my arms the legs are not that cold honestly did not that cold
ah so good
okay come on in the water is fine I swear I promise it's
warm come on
Swam in all three glacial lakes achievement unlocked! and experience gained, I levelled up!
you know something else that I've learned from this trip that we've done
this whole trip the super-amazing lupim and search Aotearoa
it's rehashing a lot of places that I've already been to before so I
found that I set myself challenges things I've never done before like swim
in all three glacial lakes I set myself challenges and I take the path less
traveled go down some roads that we've never been to before you know we went
down some roads down Waimate and in Waimate we discovered the yellow lupins
we weren't expecting to see them there at all so one of the things that I've
learned from this trip that I can apply in the future is take the path less
traveled especially especially unfamiliar territory that makes sense
oh yeah there's one more thing that I've really learned from this trip you just
learned from mrs. Jones honestly...
build more toilets it's not what I've learned I've learned from Karen and this
is gonna arm me with this information for the future is try to avoid those
name-brand expensive holiday parks
you know like the the top ten ones they're so expensive I mean we paid
absolutely through the nose we paid through the nose for our
accomodation this trip this time here at our mount cook salmon there's a
really noisy rabble because there's about six tour buses anyway hope you
enjoyed the series hope you picked up something if you didn't see all the
episodes and if you want to know where the Russell lupins are in New Zealand
you do see them a few of them are North Island but they're mainly in the South
Island around the McKenzie country district and North Otago look for the
waterways you'll find them around the rivers and anyway have a look at the
rest of this video this is a little montage it's gonna show you the
highlights of where we've been some of the drone videos all of the maps
all maps of where you can locate the lupins so we're heading back to
Christchurch now after we eat some salmon and yeah every time we come back
from a road trip we keep coming back to the start
one final pain of the pump
eighty dollars

(How to Calculate the 20% 199A QBI Deduction) - Very Detailed (20% Business Tax Deduction Explained) - Duration: 27:03.welcome back to money in life TV everybody how y'all doing out there this
is the channel where you can come to to learn about finances investing and taxes
we are about to start part two the final part of helping you understand the 199A
a qualified business income deduction now if you haven't seen the first part
make sure you go back and watch that video first I'm gonna leave links in the
description section and in the comment section it's very important you watch
that first because in the first part of this series it's gonna help you
understand the rules and the overall ideas behind this new 20% business tax
deduction after you've watched the first part to this series come back to this
video and we're gonna look at some calculation examples on screen this
excel document that I'm showing you on screen right now has five full
step-by-step calculation examples and once you go through these and once we go
through these I think the rules part of it is gonna make a lot more sense it's
hard to understand the rules by themselves it's hard to understand the
calculations by themselves but won't you know both then this deduction starts to
make sense so that's how I recommend you learn it so after filming this video and
after watching it after taking time to edit it I realized there was points of
clarification I needed to add now I just wanna make it very clear that this video
is going to help you tremendously understand the deduction but it's not
gonna take you all the way I have to be brutally honest the real this stuff is
so technical ladies and gentlemen that's the only way you're truly gonna
understand it and the best way to learn it is to do some self-study you have to
invest some time learning this stuff I can't teach you this in five minutes 10
minutes 15 minutes this is a subject that you need to invest some of your own
time and your own self-study to learn so I want to make that clear I really think
this video is gonna help you a lot with the understanding of it and so it's part
one but I don't want to miss guide you or mislead you you're still gonna have
to invest some of your own time to really understand this because I'm not
here to BS you but I think you guys will get a lot of this video I've included
several sound bites and clarification tips throughout this video and some fun
ones as well to keep you guys engaged so I hope you enjoy it let's keep on moving
forward so I'm gonna cover three examples with you on screen this video
and two of them you can just look at for yourself do some self-study and then
we'll go from there so without further ado let's not waste any time let's
go ahead and dive right into it let's go ahead and start with example number one
an example of one we're looking at an ax taxpayer when their income is below the
qbi deduction phase-out ranges which we discussed the last video
okay guys chipper has stopped me right here and he's told me if you don't take
some time to clarify some of this stuff you're gonna confuse the hell out of
people and we don't want to do that so throughout the video as we look at these
examples I'm gonna be talking about this qbi income phase-out don't know what
does that mean well we're gonna be looking at every
example in this video it's gonna be based on a single filing status so
chipper is gonna be our example and he's a single filer and so that his key
bi-phase out in terms of his taxable income begins at one hundred and
fifty-seven thousand five hundred so when I say his income is below the qbi
income phase-out it means his income is less than one hundred and fifty seven
thousand five hundred if I say his qbi income is in-between the phase-out it
means his income is between one hundred fifty seven thousand five hundred and
two hundred and seven thousand five hundred if I say his qpi income is above
the qvi phase-out it means his taxable income is above two hundred and seven
thousand five hundred so I that's what I mean when I'm talking about qbi income
phase-out and this chart shows it right here now like I said all the examples
are gonna be based on a single filer I did that so for consistency so you don't
get confused between one filing status and the other if you're married filing
joint there's no difference in the calculation the only difference is that
you have a higher qbi income phase-out range so in other words you can your
taxable income can be higher before this deduction starts to phase out for you so
if you're married filing joint as you can see on the chart your taxable income
has to be hit above three hundred fifteen thousand before it even begins
to phase out whereas if you're a single filer once your taxable income hits one
hundred fifty seven thousand five hundred your deduction starts to become
limited beyond that point let's continue this taxpayer has no capital gains and
as an important you're gonna see why an
example number two so here's the facts of this situation chipper operates as a
sole proprietor he files a Schedule C on his tax return chipper manufactures bird
cages his bird cages are not considered a specified service business and that's
because he's a manufacturer he doesn't provide services he makes it sells bird
cages now this is chippers only business and we're gonna discuss multiple
business is by the end of this video but let's just focus on one business example
of the time so chipper is single he's not married because he's single and
ready to mingle his net qualified business income is
nets to be a one hundred and forty thousand dollars in this example
chippers taxable income before the qbi deduction is taken into account is one
hundred and ten thousand dollars chipper has zero
like I said in net capital gain so no capital gains here to report and a
reminder the twenty percent deduction for key bi is limited to the lesser of
the net qbi or taxable income reduced by any capital gains but before the qpi
deduction so here's chippers taxable income so net qbi is 140 taxable income
is 110 so this is how in this example it's calculated so we because his
taxable income is lower 110 is lower than 140 we start with that and it's
very simple we take the hundred and ten thousand dollars and we multiply it by
the 20% so chippers qbi deduction in this example this very very simple
example is $22,000 that he's gonna report on 1040 page 2 line 9 which is
right here guys and this is a draft of the new forms obviously the new forms
aren't fully released yet but this is where you would expect this deduction to
show up so chippers taxable income would be reduced by $22,000 based on this
example so this is one of the easiest examples and now we're gonna get they're
gonna get harder as they go they're gonna get more complicated as you'll see
it was gonna be that easy did you you know for a second there yeah I kind of
did silly rabbit so just real quick I'm not gonna do the
full walkthrough on example number two example number two is just like example
number one the only difference in this example is that chipper does have some
capital gains so chipper has that it's the same business income but he has
taxable gains of $8,000 so what we have to do is we have to reduce his taxable
income by 10,000 and so when you reduce when we do that his net taxable income
that is used for this qpi calculation is 102 thousand dollars so it's it's just
the same rules once again it's to do the calculation you take the lesser of your
qualified business income 140 or the lesser of your taxable income after they
have reduced for capital gains which is 100 mm so same process so once we
reduced his taxable income by his net capital gains this is the number we use
one hundred and two thousand because it's lower than the 140 I hope you guys
are following me I know this is a lot of information really quickly but I'm gonna
try to get through this information as quickly as possible for you guys
remember you're gonna have this whole document for free to download and you
can study all these for yourself so it just changes the formula a little bit as
you can see and his deduction in this example is gonna be come out to be
twenty thousand four hundred bucks
an example 3 we're looking at chipper chippers business is now a specified
service trader business if you remember from part one it matters
big-time whether or not you're in a specified service trade or business
now remember an example one and two chippers income was below the qbi
deduction phase-out of one hundred and fifty seven thousand five hundred so it
didn't matter if he was in a specified service trader business or not because
his income based on his filing status was below one hundred and fifty seven
thousand five hundred dollars so like i said it doesn't matter what kind of
business he's in as long as he's below that threshold he's going to get the
full twenty percent deduction are likely to get the full twenty percent deduction
but now an example three that we're gonna look at where we he isn't a
specified service business chipper operates as a sole proprietor he files a
Schedule C on his tax return chipper works as a doctor so this is doctor
chipper to your service he's doctor dreamy he renders Medical Services and
his business is considered a specified service business now this is chippers
only business okay this is his only business that he operates his filing
status is still single but notice here his net qualified business income is
$225,000 and chippers taxable income before the qbi deduction now in this
example is two hundred thousand dollars now chipper has no capital gains in this
example zero so we don't have to worry about that so as you guys know the
common rule is it's the lesser of your twenty percent the the twenty percent
deduction is the lesser of your qualified business income or your
taxable income reduce for any taxable gains
well once again we're gonna be looking at this two hundred thousand because
it's less than the two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars of his net
qpi alright what you're gonna notice ladies and gentlemen what I want you to
notice as you look at these examples based on your filing status based on
your overall income and based on the type of business you're in it's going to
change how you do the calculation and that's what makes this deduction so
complex there are some similarities but there's also some differences so you
have to really pay attention to this and you're going to see that as you study
each example because really the purpose of this video is to
really help you understand how this all works and that's why I'm putting this
together for you guys because there's so many questions out there about this
deduction guys it took me months to learn this stuff
months and I'm a and I do this stuff for a living so imagine how complicated this
can be for somebody who doesn't do accounting our taxes for living it's
pretty challenging so let's go ahead and go to the the example now let's go let's
go for it here because chipper its income this see this two hundred
thousand it's above the one hundred and fifty seven thousand dollar range as
where the phase-in starts to to come into play so chippers income is two of
two hundred thousand dollars as taxable income is a is how much above the
hundred fifty seven thousand five hundred its forty two thousand five
hundred dollars above the the phase-out range okay so his deduction begins to
phase out once he's over one hundred and fifty seven thousand five hundred and so
you're gonna see here and hope you guys can to read that can read this okay says
chippers taxable income is forty two thousand five hundred dollars above the
phase-out range so as you guys can see that's the calculation we just did so so
chippers deduction phase-out percentage is eighty five percent because forty two
so I should I should mention here that the deduction for a single filer for
somebody who filed single it maxes out at two hundred and seven thousand five
hundred that's where this deduction would completely phase-out if you're in
a specified service trade or business which in this example chipper is so
between two hundred and seven thousand five hundred and one hundred fifty seven
thousand five hundred that's a fifty thousand dollar range and so once
chippers income exceeds this to 207 five hundred he gets no deduction whatsoever
and this is why it's important to go back and understand all those rules in
the other video because if you don't understand it it's not these
calculations like I said it won't make sense as you guys can see here's how the
calculation plays out so chippers deduction and rewatch this video as much
as you need to guys and study this worksheet chippers deduction phase-out
percentage is eighty five percent because forty two thousand five hundred
divided by fifty thousand which is the spread of the phase-out range for a
single filer is eighty five percent okay so we know his phase-out range is eighty
five percent so let's let's see how this is calculated
so it's thus the limited $1.99 a deduction is calculated as false so we
know his qualified business income is $225,000 right because that number 225
thousand is coming from right here we know his phase-out percentage is
eighty five percent because that number is coming from right here so the amount
of the phase-out is one hundred ninety one thousand two hundred fifty dollars
so what this does is it's going to reduce his qualified business income and
it's going to change how we look at things now so the qualified business
income of two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars now we subtract out the
phase-out amount of one hundred ninety one
two fifty so now it's basically revising his qpi deduction hurry his KPI income
its revising his qbi income at this point so now he's got a new qualified
business income of thirty three thousand seven fifty so now his qualified
business income deduction is calculated on this amount so initially when we
looked at this we saw that his taxable income was lower than his qbi but once
we revised it because his income is above these phase-out limitations his
qbi after it's reduced for the amount of the phase-out his revised Cuba is now
lowered the thirty three thousand seven fifty is now obviously lower than his
taxable business Inc are his taxable income up here so that's why we now have
to use this amount to calculate the twenty percent deduction on that so now
we take twenty percent times a thirty three thousand seven fifty and chippers
one ninety nine a deduction is now six thousand seven hundred fifty dollars I
know that's a lot to follow but it's gonna serve you well to study these in
your own time it's gonna make a lot more sense it's really hard to get this
across in a video very clearly without you guys really knowing the rules and
really studying these calculations for yourself in each tab I've included some
of the limitations that we were talking about like the income phase-out
limitations so you can see I'm not pulling these numbers out of thin air if
they're just coming from the rigs and the rules
now let's move on to example 5 this is the final example I want to share with
you in this video and what we're gonna do in example 5 is when a taxpayer and
when their income is over the qbi deduction phase-out ranges and when
they're in a non specified service trader business so they're not in a
service business and they're their income is well over the deduction
phase-out ranges so what does that all mean well when when their income is over
the qpi deduction phase-out it basically means if we scroll down here it means
their income is above these amounts but now normally if like I like I said
recently if they're in an SS b or a specified service business their
deduction would be they would have no deduction at all at this point they're
out of luck no chance of giving any toward adduction but because they're not
in a specified service trader business because in this example chipper is once
again he's a manufacturer chipper operates as a sole proprietor and he
files a Schedule C on his tax return he manufacture his birdcages once again his
bird cages are not considered a specified service trader business and
this is shippers only business so let's come back down here because shippers not
in a specified service business he gets to apply some other rules that might
allow him to take the deduction so now we're looking at this box right here
where it says w-2 and on adjusted basis limitations phase in so let me zoom in
on this a little bit so you guys can see that so there's two tests here first if
the limit is the greater of 50% of w-2 wages or 25% of w-2 wages plus two and a
half percent of an adjusted basis so take a good look at that guys pause the
video and now let's go to the top and work our way down to see how this is all
calculated and this will make a lot more sense once you see it in calculation
form so let's go up to the top and read the facts for this example okay okay so
once again shippers filings has a single chippers net qualified business income
is two hundred ninety thousand dollars and chipper in this example pays wages
of eighty thousand dollars chipper owns one hundred and ninety thousand dollars
in assets within his business chippers tax a link
before the qbi deduction is 260 thousand dollars and chipper has to keep it a
little bit more simple to keep us a little bit more simple we're gonna say
that he has no capital gains zero all right let's see how this deduction plays
out first we need to do some calculations to cut to figure out what
the limitations are on on chippers deduction because chippers income is so
high because his income is well above the phase-out range so first we're going
to do the 50% of w-2 wages test so we know chipper paid eighty thousand
dollars in wages right because that number is coming from right here so we
do 50% of w-2 wages so that's $40,000 right for teeth out our 80 thousand
times 50% is 40,000 now we're gonna need to look at test 2 test 2 is 25% of w-2
wages which is 80,000 times 25 percent plus 2 and a half percent of an adjusted
basis in assets so in this example remember chipper had a one hundred
ninety thousand dollars in assets within his business okay so you would take we
take two and a half percent times that which gives him four thousand seven
hundred and fifty dollars so we add up the 25 percent of wages paid and the two
and a half percent of on adjusted basis in assets and we get 24,000 750 now
remember we get to take the greater of the greater up for this first part
because down here the rule stay the limit is the greater of of these of
whichever one of these is higher so obviously if you pass math class $40,000
is higher so that's the number we're gonna work with in this example so let's
let's go down to this is step one now let's come down to step two and let's
figure this out now what we need to do is figure out what the max qpi deduction
would be so we know that chippers qualified business income is two hundred
ninety thousand and remember that two hundred ninety thousand comes from up
here right there so we take 20% of that so 20% of two
hundred ninety thousand is fifty eight thousand dollars folks so now we're
going to take the lesser of the max qualified business income
action or the 50% of wages and we're taking the 50% of wages here because
this was the greater of the numbers in step 1 if this number if this test had
come out higher we would be using that example down here instead but because of
the $40,000 and if if 50% and wages higher we're gonna use that amount so
just want to make that clear and with the lesser of the $58,000 or the $40,000
which is less $40,000 is less than 58 thousand dollars clearly all right
that's step 2 now we're gonna go into the step 3 and we're gonna start to
finalize this calculation so that was step 2 now let's go on to step 3 and
we're getting close to being done with this calculation now what we need to do
is we need to calculate the 20% max deduction based on the tax base on
chippers tax link um well chippers taxable income we know is 260,000 and
that number is coming from right here because that's what was given that's
what I gave you guys as the example that's chipper taxable income so 20% of
$260,000 is $52,000 right so we know that $40,000 is less than 52,000 dollars
right our maximum qbi deduction in this example in example number 5 is $40,000
so what this means is that chipper could reduce his taxable income with this
qualified business income deduction by $40,000 and he's going to report that on
line 9 all right guys well I just walked through a couple examples with you guys
the most complex example in this whole worksheet is actually example number 4
and you guys can see you can walk through this example in your own time
you can pause the video you can download the this spreadsheet for yourself for
free like I said I'll link it up down below for you guys and this will go
through step by step by step there's actually this is a five-step calculation
in this part so that's why I don't want to cover it all on camera or on screen
because it's this gonna take too much time but you guys can study that for
yourself so we've looked at an easy one we've looked at where the when chipper
is as income is below the phase-out ranges we've looked at an example where
chippers income is in example number two where it's below the phase-out ranges
and Annie has a little Apple Gaines have how that changed
changes the calculation a little bit in example two or I mean I'm sorry an
example three we looked at when shippers income is between the income phase-out
ranges and he's in a specified service trade or business an example five we
covered when chipper is not in a specified service trader business and
his income is over the phase-out of mounts and how these other deductions
now these other tests have to come into play when when we take the we have to
come look at the fifty percent of wages or twenty five percent of wages plus two
and a half two and a half percent of on adjusted basis hopefully this stuff
makes sense guys remember feel free to ask questions down below I've done my
best to explain this but like I said truly the best way to learn it now is to
go back and study this stuff for yourself in your own time
look at the Microsoft Word handout that I created for you for free read the
rules and then look at these examples and give yourself some time and it's
gonna start to make more sense now in the handout or in this spreadsheet I've
included links for you guys if you want to learn more about this one and at nine
eighty deduction there's a couple links that where I've pulled this information
together it doesn't show up here yet but I'm going to have a link to the video
for part one and I'm gonna have a link for the word document handout that you
for Dropbox that you can find in here as well so just make sure you check out
this link section of the worksheet there's a lot of good information
let's just talk real briefly about having multiple businesses okay so if
you're a business owner and this deduction is meant for business owners
as you guys know if you watch the part number one if you have multiple
businesses you would have to do this calculation for every business you own
okay so for every business you own you would do this calculation but if you
there's also aggregation rules so for some people for some tax payers they
have multiple businesses and their income is really high so their income is
like above let's say they're married filing joint and their income is like
six hundred thousand dollars so there are ways to aggregate there's an
election that you can make on next year's tax return are the 2018 tax
return that will allow you to aggregate the activities of all your qualified
business income activities and that may or may not give you a higher
qpi deduction if you aggregate now if you a great to my understanding once you
elect the aggregate you have to keep doing that going forward and you can't
change it and this deduction guys is gonna be in play for the next ten you're
on I won't say next ten years but it's supposed to be in play until 2000 until
the end of 2025 and at that point or beyond that starting in 2026 I don't
know if they're gonna scratch all this or not I have no idea all right guys
I've probably tucked your ear off at this point so now it's time to hear from
you guys so in the comments section down below let me know your thoughts about
this new deduction let me know if you have any questions I'm sure you're gonna
have questions to run by me if I if I can answer on my will as far as I know
these calculation examples I put in this video are correct there's always a
chance I can make mistakes so you know do not consider this to be legal or tax
advice none of this in this video is to be taken as legal or tax advice always
do your own homework do your own research consult with an accountant in
the area you live you know if you want to learn more about the stuff this video
was made to help you guys understand how the deduction works and I think one of
the best ways to learn how it works is to actually work through the calculation
examples so then you can look at your own business and say okay well this is
activity I've got going on these are the wages I pay this is where I expect my
taxable income to be for the year to help you determine if your calculations
gonna be as easy as an example 1 or 2 or if your calculations gonna be really
complex like a number like an example is 3 & 4 or even 5 all right everyone well
I'm gonna end the video right here let me know what you guys think about all
this stuff I look forward to reading your comments if you liked the video
