- [Vivica] Okay, truth team, what say you?
Judge Mary.
- The bottom line is, you're hurting those kids.
And you better get your crap together.
So, quit the drinking, wake up!
I don't understand how you can't get a job.
Sometimes getting a job means taking a job lesser
than what you believe you're qualified in.
To support your family, and you're not doing that.
(audience claps)
- Doctor Judy.
- Steven? I do agree with the audience.
You're definitely not doing enough.
And there is no urgency here, because you know what?
If it really comes down to it,
Denise will take care of your kids forever.
Because she doesn't want anything bad to happen to them.
So you have no real consequences,
and on the other hand you have no real emotion.
We have not seen any emotion from you, when we're talking
about serious, life-altering stuff.
Not only for you, but for your family.
And there's been zero emotional response.
Which is what worries me about this entire situation.
And the more that you utilized alcohol, again, I understand
that you haven't drank for three weeks.
But this has happened before, right?
You've been on detox a couple of times.
You've cut out drinking a couple of times,
to try to prove your family wrong.
But yet you still go back to it.
And that is an underlying problem,
and you need to address that problem.
I believe that that's going to be the start.
So, Two Rivers Drug and Alcohol Services,
is offering you a free alcohol assessment.
Then it'll present you with a concrete action plan.
Which is what you need.
You need a concrete action plan to move your life forward.
Or else you're gonna lose everything.
- Areva. - In addition,
to this treatment program we have for you.
We also want to help you get a job.
Because you can't take care of kids without a job.
- [Vivica] That's right.
- So we've set you up
with Jay Block, of The Jay Block Companies,
for the five steps to rapid employment.
This is a program that's gonna get you back, working.
So you can provide child support.
You can get your kids back in a stable environment.
And be that dad, that I truly believe
in my heart, that you can be.
(audience claps)
- Steven, can I just say in closing to you?
They said that they didn't see any emotions from you.
But when I am here, and I looked at you.
I almost saw a little bit of emotion come through.
Listen, things happen in life. Alright?
And it's okay. You can't keep on blaming things
that happen in bad choices you make.
What you can do today is start making the choice,
like as Areva said, to 'man up.'
Not just for your kids, but for yourself.
You gotta start being able to look in that mirror,
and look at those nice, blue eyes of yours.
And say "you know what? Today we are gonna start,
"and we're gonna make a change. I'm gonna do better
"for myself, and for my kids.
"So that we can live our best lives."
That's what we want for you, here at 'Face the Truth.'
Do you believe that? - Yes.
- Alright.
Will you take our help? - Yes.
- Will you do the counseling? - Yes.
- Alright! So let's man' up and get back out there.
Get to work, you can do it!
Alright - Thank you.
- I believe in you. Steven and Denise, we thank you so much
for having the courage to 'Face the Truth,'
and we wish you all the best.
