Youtube daily can Nov 10 2017

if we go deep enough into our parenting it can take us everywhere.

My name is Danya Ruttenberg. I'm a rabbi I'm a mom. I'm tired

self-identify as nap-deprived.

When my oldest was, who is now 8, was about a year and a half

this question just popped into my head kind of from nowhere.

I started thinking about the

ways in which my spiritual tradition and other spiritual traditions have really

been built around the idea that somebody else was doing the work of childcare

started thinking about how profoundly I was transformed through becoming a

parent and that all of the ways that I had to learn to kind of regrow patience

when the patience had been dried out to find humor and joy and bodily things

that I had once found just disgusting all of these were really part of

spiritual practice

in that my prayers had become lullabies

and my lullabies had become prayers.

spiritual practice is something that you

do again and again and again and if you do it enough times with the right

intention it changes you

it changes how you see yourself it

changes your relationships it changes how you understand who you are and what

your role is in the world I started to understand that my own

parenting was a legitimate spiritual practice

I brought my false self into reading Cat in the Hat for the ninety seven millionth time.

when I was able to find gratitude for a body that was doing what it was

supposed to do even when the poop didn't quite make it into the potty

and it changed how I experience the world.

the Hebrew word for intention is kavanah and

the root word of kavanah, kivun or direction.

when we direct ourselves bring

our full intention into what's happening it changes the experience of that thing entirely.

when we look at our kids as the distraction we're not having a real

encounter with them.

Parenting isn't just a spiritual practice and let's feel good

yummy snuggle moment.

Some of the the really transformative work it's about looking

with curiosity at exactly why what they're doing right now is making you so

apoplectic or why we feel so full of despair at a moment that we feel like

we've tried all the tricks and nothing's working or when it's 3:00 in the morning

I just want to go back to sleep when we're able to pull up the compassion

from underneath the irritation and find curiosity instead of reactivity it

changes us.

it makes us kinder it makes us gentler, it makes us more in tune

with the sacred we go down deep enough into the love that we have for our

children that's where we find the doorway to the holy

that's where we find the doorway to everything

The Only Way A Person Can Change - Pastor David Uth - First Baptist Orlando - Duration: 1:11.

Your heart determines your character and your character determines your actions.

If you want to change a man's actions, change a man's heart. And what is the

only thing in this world that can change a person's heart? It is the gospel of

Jesus Christ. It's the only thing that can change us. So as a church (put

the formula back up) why do we

spend all our time talking about actions? And why is it we condemn and hammer

people and throw a bunch of rules on people that are outside and external

that can't change the heart? We ought to spend every breath proclaiming one name

above them all: the name of Jesus. Because that's the only way a person can change

is right here.

Radical Amazement: How Can We Find Wonder in the World? - Duration: 3:36.

Kids are really masters at wonder.

I'm a Rabbi. I'm a mother of three. I'm frazzled a lot.

and I am here to tell you that children

can teach you everything you need to know about radical amazement.

When I try to walk down the street with my kid

It's often like "mommy I found a stick!"

"Did you see the stick?"

"Look this is the best stick ever."

"It's a laser. It's a magic wand."

"Did you see, look there are ants on the ground."

"Did you see the ants? That's so awesome!"

A lot of times, my response to this...

Is what my mom used to call it.

Right. This sort of slow walking.

It's to get irritated. Right.

I'm like, we have to get somewhere.

This is taking too long.

I'm bored. I need to pee.

Come on guys. I said it's time to go.

Yes those are ants. That's great.

We have some place to be.

When I stop and remember

that it takes just as long

to pause and actually look at the ants.

Have you seen ants lately? They are really cool.

They are really cool.

But I forget. Right. I forget all the time

To just stop and look but when I remember

It's really amazing.

And I forget all the time that it takes just as long

To stop and really take in the magic

Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel

taught that radical amazement

is really the root of spirituality and spiritual experience.

I think a lot of times when we talk about radical amazement

We think of, you know, seeing the sunset

Or seeing the ocean

Or being on the mountain top after a huge hike.

Radical amazement is also what happens when you stop

and really take in the flowers on the side of the road

Or when you really pause to taste

that first sweet sip of coffee in the morning

Or even when you feel the warm soapy water

on your hands when you're doing dishes.

When you let yourself

really experience that

that's pretty awesome too, actually.

When I remember to actually stop

and have a little wonder for myself

It makes me softer.

And kinder.

And more in tune with the sacred.

And more able to see my kids

and be amazed by them too.

And to stop taking them for granted.

which, you know, happens

in the hectic course of day-to-day life.

When I pause and have radical amazement

it brings joy into my life

it helps me remember that the whole point of

of this whole being alive thing is not just a get stuff done

and to meet all the things on our agendas,

but to savior this delicious experience of living.

And when I remember to pause

and experience a little radical amazement

little by little

more and more

day by day

it becomes a little more like habit.

Even Jackass Darrell Issa Admits GOP Tax Bill Is A Sham, Says "We Can Do Better" - Duration: 3:41.

If you've tuned into Fox News anytime within the last week, first of all I'm really sorry

for you.

But second of all, you probably assume that the Democratic party in the United States

is absolutely falling apart.

Democrats can't get along, there's the Donna Brazile thing, the DNC, Uranium One, Fusion

GPS.

Oh my God, the Democrats, those who don't fall apart are probably going to prison.

Well, actually that's not ever going to happen because most of that is just overblown hype

that Republicans are trying to push to show discord within the Democratic party.

If you wanna see what real discord looks like, how about you look at the Republican party?

This week, Republican representative Darrell Issa, a guy who's been serving in Congress

for well over a decade, well-respected, serves on leadership positions, has announced that

he will vote, "No" on the Republican tax-reform scam that Paul Ryan and Donald Trump are trying

to push through Congress right now.

Because he believes that the individual tax cuts included in this bill, which means the

tax cuts for the top 1%.

He understands that they will do absolutely nothing to spur economic growth in the United

States.

So Darrell Issa, again a guy who's been in Congress for years and years, in leadership

positions, understands that trickle-down economics, the same economic policy being pushed by Republicans

is an absolute lie.

He knows that giving wealthy people like himself, he does have millions.

Possibly more than millions as a guy who, he owned some kinda car alarm company after

he spent his youth stealing cars, in case you didn't know that.

But anyway, he's got a lot of money.

A huge millionaire status.

And he even understands that if you cut his taxes, it's not going to do a damn thing to

help the economy.

And for some reason, whatever reason we're actually thankful for it, he decided to come

out and tell the Republicans this.

He's trying to say, "Look, you know what?

I like money too.

But this isn't gonna do anything.

And if that's your actual goal, then I'm gonna vote no, because it doesn't help."

Now, Issa did incorrectly state that he does think the business tax-cuts are going to help

spur economic growth.

Although he didn't explain how that actually works.

But Darrell Issa like so many others still depends on corporate contributions to fund

his campaigns.

So of course he doesn't wanna take their money away, just from the millionaires and billionaires.

But at this point, if Republicans can't even get all their little sheep in a row in order

to pass a tax-reform package that has been the crux of Republican policy since the 1980s,

then yeah, I would say that's far more discordant than what's happening right now in the Democratic

party who actually swept the Tuesday elections earlier this week, even though they're not

unified.

There is discord in the United States, there's discord within both political parties.

But the Republicans, the ones who are in the position of leadership right now, are so dysfunctional,

so incapable of leading this country that they can't even all agree on tax-cuts that

for again, since the 1980s, they have been trying to push on the American public.

Sony 1000XM2 VS Bowers & Wilkins PX - There Can only Be ONE #1 - Duration: 10:46.

The bowers and Wilkins PX are a pair of beautifully designed active noise canceling headphones.

But lets see how they compare to what I feel are the best ANC headphones on the market

right now for 2017 and 2018, the Sony 1000XM2.

Will the PX take the title from the 1000XM2's?

Lets find out!

Don't forget to like comment and subscribe and you can watch either of these headphones

individual reviews here after you're done watching this video.

Remember, this isn't a full review on either of these headphones, I'm just trying to

point out the most important differences between them so I can help you with your purchase

decision.

Regarding price, the Bowers and Wilkins PX are slightly more expensive than the Sony

1000XM2 retailing for $400.

Where as the Sony 1000XM2 currently retail for $350.

But Sony routinely put their products on sale so who knows, maybe they'll randomly go

on sale for $300 sometimes.

So, if you want to pick either of these headphones up I'll have links in the description below

and I'll keep them updated so you can get the best deal possible.

Check them out cause you might get lucky.

First off, lets go over build quality and design.

Obviously these headphones look very different from one another and I feel the B&W PX are

the best looking headphones I've reviewed on the channel so far.

The PX have a stainless steel body, ballistic nylon around the ear cups and head band, leather

that feels very smooth and soft after its been broken in, and theres a threaded cable

that runs down the sides of the headphones.

The ear cups swivel and pivot very smoothly and theres no cracking or squeaking when flexing

the headband.

They're a pair of very well built headphones that are just as much a fashion statement

as they are audio equipment.

Where as the Sony 1000XM2 are more about functionality.

The premium materials used on the PX does make them a little heavier weighing at 335

grams where as the Sony 1000XM2 weigh in at 277 grams.

Its not a big deal but it is noticeable.

The 1000XM2's are mostly made out of plastic, have a thin stainless steel headband, and

they have synthetic leather on the ear pads, headband, and outer portion of the ear cups.

The ear cups also pivot, swivel, and fold up very smoothly and theres no cracking or

squeaking when flexing the headband.

But the built quality on the Bowers and Wilkins PX is just on a whole other level.

Now regarding the headband cracking issue on the Sony's I know some people might be

wondering about.

After 2 months of heavy usage I'm happy to report theres still no cracking on the

1000XM2's.

Now when it comes to comfort, the Bowers and Wilkins PX are not for the cranially gifted…

as in if you have a big head like me they're not for you.

The PX have a good amount of clamping force and even after they've been broken in they

do cause me some discomfort in the jaw area after a while of wearing them, but if you

have a smaller head you'll be fine.

Where as the 1000XM2's will fit basically everyone.

But the ear cup designs are very different.

They both go over your ears but the 1000XM2's feel more cramped with a whole bunch of padding

pressing against your head where as the PX do a much better job of encasing your ears.

The encased design of the PX give your ears a lot more room and the padding doesn't over

heat as much.

And just putting it out there, the Bose QC35 II are still more comfortable than both of

these headphones.

The ear cups have a similar encased design as the Bowers and Wilkins PX but they have

much less clamping force than both the Sony and B&W.

Ok, lets get into tech specs.

Both of these headphones are using bluetooth 4.1 and they both have APTXHD audio.

But the Bowers and Wilkins PX have a USB type C port where as the Sony 1000XM2's are still

using a micro USB port.

Also, the B&W PX can be connected to 2 devices at the same where as the Sony's can only

be connected to one device at time.

And for premium headphones in 2017 and 2018, being able to be paired to multiple devices

at one time should be a no brainer and sony should have thrown in a USB type c port instead

of using the older port.

But the Sony 1000XM2's can be used passively with a wired connection where as the PX have

to be powered on even if you want to use a wired connection.

Also the 1000XM2's have NFC where as the PX don't, but since google just announced

fast pairing I don't think its that big of an issue.

Now when it comes to battery life, the Sony 1000XM2 is the winner.

With noise cancelation turned on I typically average 32 hours of playback time.

With noise cancelation turned off I typically average about 38 hours.

Where as the B&W PX has an average battery life compared to other headphones on the market.

With noise cancelation turned on I average about 24 hours of playback times and with

noise cancelation turned off I average about 30 hours.

And unfortunately, the Bowers and Wilkins PX doesn't have quick charging.

Which could be a problem if you find yourself with a dead battery while traveling.

But the Sony 1000XM2 does have quick charging, but its not the best out there.

If you plug them in for 10 minutes you should get about 70 minutes of playback time.

Its better than nothing.

Regarding noise cancelation, I like them both very much for two very important reasons.

They both have very little to no cabin pressure and they don't have any hissing when you're

not playing music.

They both pick up very little wind noise as well.

But the Bowers and Wilkins PX does pick up less wind noise than the 1000XM2.

Actually… the PX pick up the least amount of wind noise of all of the ANC headphones

I've tested so far.

You can also adjust how strong you would like the noise cancelation to be on both of these

headphones through their apps and you can also adjust the amount of ambient sound you

would like to let in.

Which is good for safety reasons if you're walking around in the city or so people can

still get your attention if you're working at the office or at school.

But over all, the noise cancelation on the Sony 1000XM2 does out preform the noise cancelation

on the Bowers And Wilkins PX.

Although the PX do a really good job of blocking out constant low frequency sounds its not

as good at blocking out chatter like the Sony 1000XM2.

Also if you want the 1000XM2 can automatically adjust the noise cancelation depending on

what you're doing.

Even though the Sony 1000XM2 does have the better noise cancelation, the Bowers and Wilkins

PX has the better sound quality.

In general the PX have an even sound signature which is what audiophiles prefer.

Even though you can adjust the EQ of the 1000XM2 directly from its app… something you cant

do with the PX unless you use a third party app… the definition, clarity, and soundstage

of the sony isn't as good as the B&W PX.

Going back to the design of the ear cups on the PX, they do a better job of encasing your

ears and provide an over all better listening experience.

The lows get much deeper and the highs are much more precise.

But this is with noise cancelation turned off on both headphones.

If you turn noise cancelation ON then the sound quality on the PX does deteriorate a

bit.

The Sound stage narrows up a bit and the lows aren't as deep.

Where as the 1000XM2 sounds equally as good with noise cancelation turned on or off.

So both headphones with noise cancelation turned on are pretty evenly matched.

The PX only noticeably sound better than the 1000XM2 when noise cancelation is turned off.

But none the less, both of these headphones sound good…

I'm just trying to be hyper critical.

Both of these headphones also have some unique features to consider.

The Bowers and Wilkins PX have wear sensors, and they're basically proximity sensors

in the middle of each ear cup.

The idea is that when you put them on they'll automatically turn on and play music and they'll

automatically go into a low power mode when you place them around your neck or place them

on a table.

And if you have them on and take one ear cup off to listen to someone talking to you they'll

automatically pause your music so you can hear your surroundings and they'll resume

playing when you put them back on.

although in theory this is cool, its not perfect just yet.

Sometimes the headphones will start pausing and playing your music randomly.

But hopefully Bowers and Wilkins will fix this issue with a software update soon.

But personally I prefer to use the headphones with the wear sense turned off.

And the Sony 1000XM2 have quick attention, and this is my favorite feature by far.

If you have your headphones on and someone is talking to you all you have to do is cover

the right ear cup and the headphones will lower the volume of what ever you're listening

to and let all of the ambient sound in.

So you can talk to someone without having to remove your headphones.

And when you uncover the right ear cup everything goes back to normal.

Like I said, I love this feature and it much sleeker than Bowers and Wilkins solution.

Also real quick when it comes to the microphone on either of these headphones the 1000XM2

sounds better but if you want to hear a microphone test on either of these headphone check out

their full reviews.

Picking a winner here is going to be harder than usual because I really like both of these

headphones.

But if I had to pick just one I would go with the Sony 1000XM2.

Excluding comfort, cause like I said earlier the Bowers and Wilkins PX aren't the best

for people with bigger heads.

The Sony 1000XM2 have the better battery life, they give you more customization options through

their app, and the noise cancelation is slightly better.

I feel the 1000XM2 is the safe option for most people.

But the Bowers And Wilkins PX are still a great pair of ANC headphones for people who's

main concern is sound quality.

Like I said earlier, the PX sound better than the Sony's but only with noise cancelation

turned off.

And the PX are the best looking headphones I've reviewed so far.

When it comes to my ANC headphones standings is would go first place Sony 1000XM2, second

goes to B&W PX, and third goes to the Bose QC35 II.

But again, this isn't a full review on either of these headphones I'm just trying to point

out the most important differences between them so I can help you with your purchase

decision.

If you want to learn more about either of these headphones tap the icon on the top right

to watch their full reviews.

Here's How You Can Use Peanut Butter To Diagnose Alzheimer's Disease - Duration: 2:32.

On many different levels, the Alzheimer's epidemic concerns more and more Americans

each year.

It's already the most prevalent form of dementia, affecting 1.5% of the population

of the United States.

Shockingly, every single minute another person develops this debilitating disease for which

there is no cure.

The disease worsens over time and eventually envelops the patient.

Yet, because of the difficulties resulting from the necessary care, close friends and

family members often become overwhelmed.

The symptoms are well-documented.

Like all of the other forms of dementia, Alzheimer's causes a person to become disoriented, to

behave erratically, have significant memory loss, and to live in a state of confusion.

Other symptoms associated with Alzheimer's are mobility and speech related.

While advances have been made in the battle against Alzheimer's, the greatest strides

seem to have come from the success in the area of diagnosis.

The quicker the diagnosis and intervention, the higher the quality of life is.

If this disease is detected early, studies show that a person suffering from Alzheimer's

will actually live longer.

One set of researchers in Florida recently had a major breakthrough in the detection

of Alzheimer's disease.

Using nothing more than a ruler and a simple spoon of peanut butter, doctors at the Mcknight

Brain Institute Center for Smell and Taste in Gainesville, Florida, discovered a way

to quickly detect Alzheimer's.

The subjects in the study were asked to attempt to smell an odor with just one of their nostrils

at a time.

Because of the strong, distinct odor of peanut butter, they used it to measure the distance

that its smell was detected.

The evidence suggests that people with Alzheimer's have a more difficult time smelling with their

left nostril, than with their right.

But what does smelling have to do with Alzheimer's?

People with Alzheimer's often lose their sense of smell before problems associated

with memory ever arise.

Now, with such a simple and inexpensive early detection method, health professionals can

slow down the effects of Alzheimer's, and help give families more quality time with

an aging loved one.

My Phone Can Help Fix a Car? - Duration: 2:30.

Rev up Your Engines!

Today I'm going to show you how you can fix your car with your phone,

and I'm not talking about calling up your mechanic to come fix it either,

even the cat wants to know whats going on, I'm talking about using one of these wireless

communication devices, to analyze problems in your car,

in this case, it's called a Blue Driver, now there's tons of these little OBD readers

out there, my advice, don't buy the $10 or $20 ones,

they don't do much, this particular one is $90 and it does a whole

bunch of stuff, as I'm going to show you, you just plug it in the data port, right here,

you can see it's on, it's blue now, then start the car,

then you can access all kinds of information, in this case we are going to read codes,

we have all kinds of choices, in this case, we are going to do the whole system,

and in this case there is no codes, I know that because this is my car,

but if there were codes, you can also clear them after your fix it,

and it automatically clears codes, and if there were codes, it will show you

the freeze frame data, it will tell you with smog check whether it

will pass the emissions test or not, and as it says here, you passed the test and

you can get your vehicle smog checked now, and it even does mode 6 data, which is very

complex data on your car, to find out if you have a weird problem, you

can pinpoint it this way, and as you can see here, they are all check

green, if you go through them all and they are all

green then, they are all fine, if there is a problem in the system, it won't

be green anymore, it will be yellow or red, and then you know to check that system,

and perhaps the coolest is vehicle information, check this out,

it gets your VIN number it check through your car, it can tell you if there is any recalls,

and in this case there is three, one for air bags, one for engine, and one for equipment,

it shows that there is a recall for the main computer,

so if you ever have a problem with the main computer on this vehicle, Toyota has to replace

it for free, now you know,

it even includes service bulletins, look at this,

it shows you known problems that we mechanics know all about,

and that is a lot of information that's really in depth, that anybody might want to know

if your going to fix your own car, these Blue Driver guys are serious, they are

always updating their information, it's worth the $90, you buy a $10 or $20 one,

you get a little bit of information, but nothing like this,

so now you know how to use your phone to fix your car, just don't try using it as a screwdriver!

Can these mock meat entrepreneurs fool you with a plant-based burger? - Duration: 8:36.

JUDY WOODRUFF: But, first, let's turn to a story about the business of food.

Economics correspondent Paul Solman takes a look at two start-ups aiming to help the

planet and improve health by serving up plant-based burgers that they think will wean Americans

off meat.

It's part of his weekly series, Making Sense.

PAUL SOLMAN: It looks like a burger, cooks like a burger, bleeds like a burger.

NARRATOR: Introducing the impossible burger.

It's meat made from entirely from plants invented by a pretty cool scientist Pat Brown.

Hi, Pat.

PAUL SOLMAN: Pat is CEO of a hot start-up called Impossible Foods.

This is your impossible place?

PATRICK O. BROWN, CEO, Impossible Foods: This is where the magic happens.

PAUL SOLMAN: In a lab-to-table operation that's raised nearly 300 million venture capital

dollars in Silicon Valley to make mock meat.

What's your background?

Where were you from before this?

I mean, what were you doing before this?

PATRICK O. BROWN: I was a professor at Stanford for 25 years, the medical school.

PAUL SOLMAN: And just why has a famous tenured ballyhooed biochemist flipped his super safe

career to flip burgers?

PATRICK O. BROWN: I realized that animals are just a prehistoric technology, that using

animals to produce food is the most destructive technology in use on Earth today.

The solution to the problem is develop a better technology.

PAUL SOLMAN: So, his lab rejiggers plant molecules to replicate the fleshy flavor and texture,

even the aroma.

So, this is -- so you get the smell of the burger, right?

CELESTE HOLZ-SCHIETINGER, Impossible Foods: Correct.

This is an olfactometer

PAUL SOLMAN: Impossible's flavor scientist, Celeste Holz-Schietinger.

But why is smell so important?

CELESTE HOLZ-SCHIETINGER: There's only actually a few receptors on the tongue.

There's 400 different receptors in your nose.

PAUL SOLMAN: And what are the basic ingredients?

So, this is wheat protein.

PATRICK O. BROWN: This is a protein, not starch, from potato.

This is heme.

PAUL SOLMAN: That's the secret sauce.

PATRICK O. BROWN: We discovered that heme is the magic ingredient that is uniquely responsible

for giving meat its meaty flavor.

PAUL SOLMAN: Or, as the CEO puts it in the company's rhapsodic heme biopic:

PATRICK O. BROWN: Heme is a beautiful iron-containing molecule, and it's essential for pretty much

life on Earth.

PAUL SOLMAN: I see there's actually a spot of blood over there.

That's the heme, huh?

PATRICK O. BROWN: Yes, that red color comes from the heme molecule, same thing that makes

your blood red.

We have engineered yeast to produce a protein that's normally produced by a soy plant.

PAUL SOLMAN: To impossible's Brown, heme is the competitive edge, but competing with whom?

Turns out there's another big player in the plant-based burger business, run by another

Brown: Ethan, CEO of Beyond Meat.

He's gone from fuel cells to food.

And he too thinks mock meat is man's gift to the planet.

ETHAN BROWN, CEO, Beyond Meat: If we can be that group of people that separate meat from

animals, that that's a net-net plus for the human race, and it's worth investing in.

PAUL SOLMAN: Impossible Foods has heme, Beyond Meat, peas.

ETHAN BROWN: We can take the amino acids from peas, and we can basically reset the structure,

so it takes on the fibrous texture of muscle or meat.

PAUL SOLMAN: Beyond's technology has its own high-profile venture investors, including

Ray Lane.

RAY LANE, GreatPoint Ventures: We had concluded that there was a sea change going on in millennials

and even the next generation down from millennials in the way food was consumed, in the type

of food and the attention to health.

PAUL SOLMAN: With climate-consciousness trending, investors have thrown their money into over

half-a-dozen mock meat start-ups.

For now, though, the game is between Impossible and Beyond.

Impossible has added a new plant that plans to make a million pounds of meat a month to

ship to some 200 high-end restaurants around the country, but Beyond is already in over

3,5000 restaurants and grocery stores, including Whole Foods.

And it recently inked a deal with Safeway.

STEVE HEELEY, CEO, Veggie Grill: This is our Super Rica Burger.

PAUL SOLMAN: Super Rica.

OK, so they're gaining acceptance, but what do these babies taste like?

This is like an In-N-Out Burger.

STEVE HEELEY: We were looking for that all-American burger flavor profile.

PAUL SOLMAN: Now, I may be a gustatory peasant, but these quarter-pounders were convincing

and, when garnished, indistinguishable from the usual real thing.

In L.A., Steve Heeley is CEO of the fast casual West Coast chain Veggie Grill.

So, how much does it cost?

STEVE HEELEY: The Beyond Burger is $12.95.

PAUL SOLMAN: And how much of the cost is the beef that isn't?

STEVE HEELEY: It's much more expensive than beef.

Ground beef is at least half the price of the Beyond Burger.

PAUL SOLMAN: Beyond's plant-based beef is more than six bucks a pound wholesale.

But, look, says Beyond's CEO, this is just the dawn of faux flesh technology with heavy

up-front costs.

ETHAN BROWN: And we're already pricing where grass-fed beef would price, right?

We will dramatically underprice meat.

PAUL SOLMAN: At vegetarian Clover Food Lab in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and its dozen

Boston area locations, Impossible meatball sandwiches go for $12 each.

Owner Ayr Muir, once an MIT materials science and engineering major, prefers Impossible

to Beyond for its taste and texture, but says Impossible costs twice as much as grass-fed

beef, six times its corn-fed, feedlot counterpart.

And yet:

AYR MUIR, Owner, Clover Food Lab The Impossible meatball sandwich is rivaling our very best

sandwich and leading to overall sales increase at all of our restaurants.

PAUL SOLMAN: As befits the so-called people's republic of Cambridge.

But why meat at all?

AYR MUIR: That helps bring people to Clover, and then exposes them to vegetables they may

not have gotten to otherwise, we'd love it.

But if it just cannibalizes our sales of other items that are more purely focused on vegetables,

that's probably not good for us.

It's up in the air for us.

PAUL SOLMAN: And up in the air for the whole mock meat industry, some would argue.

Is this a fad, do you think, a revolution, somewhere in between?

MICHAEL POLLAN, Food Aficionado: Yes, it's probably somewhere in between.

It's an experiment a test to see whether you can wean Americans off their beef habit.

PAUL SOLMAN: That's food aficionado Michael Pollan, who joined me at Clover.

Would you invest in one of these companies?

MICHAEL POLLAN: No.

(LAUGHTER)

PAUL SOLMAN: Is that because you're chicken as an investor, or...

MICHAEL POLLAN: No, the food business is tough.

People in Silicon Valley will find the margins are just not like what they're used to.

They're all investing.

They all want to disrupt the food industry, as they tried to disrupt the energy industry,

and that didn't work.

PAUL SOLMAN: Inside Clover, the lunch rush continued.

Overhead, a high-tech ceiling toyed with our lighting, bedeviling the cameraman.

But the food?

So, now the blind taste test.

MICHAEL POLLAN: Should I close my eyes?

(CROSSTALK)

PAUL SOLMAN: Please, please, if you would.

It would be good.

You can focus on it.

You can't tell the difference between that and a meatball sub, can you?

MICHAEL POLLAN: No.

Thank God for that cheese.

(LAUGHTER)

PAUL SOLMAN: Spoken like a true cynic.

MICHAEL POLLAN: We need to reduce our meat consumption, and this is one strategy to do

it.

This restaurant has been doing it long before they had a meat-like product with great success.

I think that millennials' attitudes towards meat eating is changing a lot.

They're much more troubled by eating animals than we are, and many of them are moving off

meat.

The challenge will be making it as cheap as a McDonald's hamburger.

PAUL SOLMAN: And the challenge of creating not just chopped meat, but steak, and of reducing

the saturated fat from vegetable oils in these patented patties without killing the taste,

and, in Impossible's case, of reassuring consumers about the genetic modification that makes

the heme, and, finally, of figuring out if we and the planet will really be better off

without any beef at all.

But, as Judy so often says, that's all we have time for tonight, so we will save those

questions for a second installment.

For the "PBS NewsHour," this is economics correspondent Paul Solman, trying to make

sense of mock meat.

3 Amazing Things You can Do At Home COMPILATION - Duration: 4:03.

Since you did not like the previous video, we will return to the more complex projects you are used to.

In today's video you will see 3 interesting life hacks, and the first one will be a DC motor toy.

We will use a 9V battery, a switch and a Dc motor. As always, we connect the Battery and switch.

And here on the cardboard, we can stick the LED's. And that would be it.

The second project will definitely appeal to you, because we are making a mini styrofoam slicer.

So you can easily cut and shape styrofoam and similar materials with this diy slicer.

As for electronics, the items are the same as every time. Just follow these steps.

And last but not least, always keep your drinks warm. How? Here is an the idea.
