Hey what's up guys this is Luca Pretolesi we are Studio DMI in Las Vegas. Let
me talk about the Dangerous COMPRESSOR my approach... and my techniques. The
Dangerous COMPRESSOR is my stereo buss compressor 90% of the time. Sometimes
also save my life on vocals but it's something we can talk later as far the
stereo buss approach to me is I want to set up the compressor first and I have
my mix translate through compression this mean that after setup my compressor
I forget that my compression on my stereo buss
in my entire mixing experience is translating actually through compression
for up-tempo music I try to go for hard knee and for my slow stuff I go for a
soft knee when it tends to make more like a soft attack and make sure that my
kick and my snare they don't make the compressor like snap too fast on the
track they want to play now I actually use my external sidechain my
external side chain it gives me like the freedom to kind of reshape the envelope
of the compressor in a more creative way part of my sound is the way that I treat
the mid-range and mid-range on compression is really important I want
to bring the mid-range in front of the mix and I want to leave the bottom in
the top-end uncompressed and free to actually expand through the song
the Dangerous COMPRESSOR as an external sidechain can allow you to plug your
favorite EQ and tell the compressor how to react the compressor have a signal
flow and the detector I have an EQ that control what the compressor is going to
read and feel I use the BAX EQ to trigger my side chain on the Dangerous
COMPRESSOR his job is to tell the compressor when and where to compress I
monitor the sidechain to be able to shape my EQ curve into the
compressor at that point my second step is find the right ratio and find the right
attack and release to give the right groove I don't want to
completely reinvent the envelope of my compressor I want to shape and control
what I'm compressing so what I'm doing right now is two to one ratio I'm
pushing up to 3 or 4 DB mostly mid-range informations I do a medium slow attack
in order to let those transient go through and make sure that I won't shape
the transit and change the envelope of the entire mix very fast release I want
to make sure that the track snap really fast actually I'm going to enhance the
groove of the track the movement as far as my external sidechain I use my second
BAX EQ where I shave everything from a low-cut of 54 I take 5 DB of a
300 so essentially from 300 down we have we shave everything and we cut we push 5
DB or 2k so I wanna make sure that compressor has been triggered but the mid
range in the upper mid-range but then I shave from 9K down everything so
that way the upper mid-range is the point that is pushing the compressor but
not the high frequency over 9k the sonic result of my compression with sidechain
is to bring the mid-range in front to the mix and have little bit of movement
on the lower mid-range when you have more enhancement on the snare transient
on those stabs on the synth everything's come to life without over compress the
top end that makes it sounds harsh and without over compress the low-end that
make the track flat so we're going to bring the mid-range up front and get
some excitement let me play four bars of uncompressed track compressor off
once again for me compression on the stereo bus is bring focus
to the mid-range maintain the integrity of the song but enhance the transient
response without over compress the bottom and the top that's what a
compressor should do and that's what really the Dangerous COMPRESSOR is
doing amazingly well

The Hangout Restaurant - Live Music, Food, And Family Fun In Gulf Shores Alabama! Great Beach Too! - Duration: 7:27.
This is The Hangout in
Gulf Shores Alabama.
Oh, look at the the giant chair there! Isn't that cool!
There's live entertainment at the Hangout.
And every year they have the Hangout Fest. It's a big outdoor music festival.
They have hair braiding.
T-shirts, hats.
Bubble things.
Ahhhhhh, mermaid dolls.
More waiting places.
And another bar.
Jenga!
A little stage.
Donna's in the big chair.
This is over in the kid's section.
They have bungee jumping. They sell snow cones.
My gosh, look at all the toys on the wall behind you!
They're like everywhere,
all across this entire wall is toys.
And it's of every kind.
Yeah, they said it would be two hours and a half,
but we got seated in about maybe 15 minutes.
She had said maybe actually an hour, hour and 15 minutes,
but I think because there was only two of us, we seated a lot quicker.
Yeah, but otherwise I would come about, what, 4:30, 4:00? Yeah, you could put your name. 5?
But some guy said he'd been here an hour already,
so he would've came around 5.
So maybe even come at 4:00 depending on when you want to eat.
They said they had some big parties outside, so there was no more seating left outside.
The indoor dining area is huge.
Seats a lot of people.
It's also got like this huge ceiling fan that keeps the air moving.
It's really cool in here it feels about 30 degrees cooler than outside.
What I want to know now is, "Where Are All Of My Moms At?"
Everybody point to your mom. Point to the moms at the tables!
Stand up, Stand up!
Mamas, take one small step into your chair, pretty please!
Now mamas, I need you to take one more step...
onto your table!!!!!
Donna what did you get?
A vanilla with chocolate swirls milkshake in a souvenir cup.
It's off the kids menu!
Yeah, looks good! It says The Hangout on it.
And the shakes good, real good.
And they have a foam party, every hour on the hour. It's awesome!
You don't have to
be a kid to get in there...but it's mostly kids!
What is that?
It's actually popcorn shrimp.
It's shrimp on top of popcorn!
I didn't know that's what it was gonna be! That's great!
I started laughing when I got it!
That's great! And I just got the chicken tenders with fries. And we got our food
really pretty quick.
There's the popcorn.
That's a great meal!
Down at the bottom. Yeah, there's the popcorn.
That's great - that's an awesome idea!
So, popcorn shrimp, on top of fries, on top of popcorn. Good job, Hangout!
It's like a 10 out of 10.
And I really like my chicken tenders, too, so good food.
Ok, so I'm gonna go out and see what the kids are doing.
That's the bungee trampoline at the Hangout. $9 for one ride for three minutes.
Purchase tickets at the bus.
Wow, they go pretty high!
Like a tunnel they can crawl through in the sand.
Hula hoops.
Little chairs where they can sit and relax.
There's a little boat they can play in.
And we're gonna go over and see what they have at the bus.
There's no Buhgee Jump height requirement, no age requirement. Minimum weight is 20 pounds,
max weight is 180 pounds.
They have Spider-man popsicles here, Captain America,
and Ninja Turtle, Tweety and Minions.
It's $4.00 for the ice cream bars.
The soft serve is $5.50. Sodas are $3.00. Ice cream is $4.95.
Snow cones are $4.50.
And they've got a nice gift shop at the Hangout.
It's pretty big. They've got all kinds of stuff.
Of course, t-shirts. And dinosaurs!
I saw somebody walking a shark. They had one of those toys.
Big wall of t-shirts.
Guess our grandson is gonna get a shark on a leash! If you can get it away from Grandma.
It's so much fun!
I want a mermaid!
So adorable!
Grandma found something she wanted.
And right across from the Hangout is this really nice stretch of public beach.
Really pretty here!
So before or after you eat at The Hangout,
you could come and enjoy the beach.

It was fun! It was, wow, like off the roof busy! I couldn't believe it.
And like the girl in the gift shop said, this is
kind of quiet for a Monday.
Seemed anything but quiet!
I guess you normally have 10,000 people in your restaurant!
Yeah they were running around like crazy just filling orders
orders and taking food to tables.
It was great. Great to watch!
