hello everyone and welcome back to passion sundays the best way to end the
week and start another our guest today is a dentist that became a speaker that
talks to dentists about building a practice of their dream dr. David
Moffatt thank you very much for being with a session of a must no I appreciate
it first dentist I ever have on the show oh thank you very much so tell me how
how did you find the passion to from just being a dentist and to actually a
coach and a speaker and an author that helps other dentists well I wanted to be
a dentist who did two things I wanted to make my customers really love me instead
of because most dental customers hate going to the dentist so I thought that
if I could attract customers who love going to the dentist then I would be
very successful as well and in doing that I built a very successful practice
in a low socio-economic part of Sydney where people you know average incomes
drove average cars average jobs lived in average houses but my practice was very
successful having done that my business was bought
by a corporate and I collected a very nice sum of money for that and I thought
well if I can do that you know there's nothing special about me I can teach
other dentists how to be successful because one of my real passions is that
dentists don't get rewarded for all the work they do they study hard at school
then they study hard at university they invest nearly a million dollars in
buying a practice especially in the US and then they're behind the eight ball
and is there struggling struggling struggling I thought what sort of a life
is that for all the work they put in so I'm passionate about helping dentists to
help their customers it's a win-win for everybody okay
amazing and as you said that it gets really tough sometimes you're getting
pursuing your passion and along the way you find yourself in a rat race to keep
pursuing more of that passion and you start losing the passion for the passion
how do you find passion when times are tough like this passion for me yeah well
I just know that there is a certain percentage out there in everything
there's a certain percentage of the population who are happy to receive a
service and then they don't care how much of course whether it's the guy who
mows your lawn yeah do you know whether the guy who mows your lawn charges the
same as the guy who mows the lawn across the road or down the street you don't
know your lawn MA he does a good job why couldn't he be charging you ten
fifteen dollars more you're happy to pay that your wife's hairdresser where did
she go who does her nails she doesn't care it's
the relationship that you have with those people not just not the actual
doing of the service but the the customer relationship that counts we can
transfer that into dentistry so we're not selling a commodity
we're selling a service and a relationship most of the work that are
diagnosing my patients mouths what they're accepting it before I've put the
mirror down they're saying yes let's do
it because we have that relationship they
don't say well what's a fool you know what's really wrong okay yeah let's do
it let's fix it and so that passion oh I'm always
reminded of the nice people and I always look for the nice but we don't have to
be everybody's did not everybody it has to be our customer just the nice people
okay the nice people let's prayer what you define nice people basically and
then it's about customer selection in a way from way you select your customer
yeah if you try to be everything to everybody you'll be nothing to anybody
hmm so you you've got to choose your nice customers that people who you like
the people you look forward to seeing in your appointment book if you're selling
newspapers the people who you like to see every day coming in to buy the
newspaper it's exactly the same I like it so basically have customers that are
as passionate as you about the same thing exactly exactly awesome I love it
it's a be a good customer when you're out there in your own life
you know big big customer to other people when you go for your coffee you
know when you're buying you some groceries so they say how are you you
say I'm good how are you how's your day going
I like it to them I like it be a good customer if you re passionate when
you're also receiving now just we're about giving a most times we forget
being good customers ourselves it's not clocking on and often if your business
is being 24/7 being a good customer and being a good husband being a good space
being a good parent being a good friend it all adds up and so then it just
continues across your business I love that be a good customer

Will Our Current Generation Witness The First Trillionaire? - Duration: 7:44.
we live in a world where wealth inequality is ever rising. A study
carried out by Oxfam concluded that the wealth of the top eight billionaires
equals that of 3.6 billion other people in the world today. While arbitrary laws
have so far hindered individuals from amassing obscene amounts of wealth that
could change as the entities which control power evolve. The most powerful
entities in the future could be large multinational corporations, religious
groups, clusters of countries such as NATO or perhaps something we never saw
coming. Point is the groundwork which could
eventually lead to the rise of the first trillionaire is being laid today. For a
much more present idea of who could be the first trillionaire we look no
further than Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos. His wealth has grown by over 65 billion
dollars in the last five years and he currently oscillates between first and
second richest in the world trading places with the likes of index founder
Amancio Ortega and Bill Gates. Given Amazon's irresistible rise and its
domination of several markets around the world there's a strong possibility Jeff
Bezos could be the one to crack the trillion dollar mark. Before we look into
the industries that could potentially foster the first trillionaire we need to
look at the history of wealth. No one is quite sure who
the first millionaire
was but the first time the word millionaire was used wasn't an obituary
describing the life of New York tobacco manufacturer Pierre Lorillard in 1843
first billionaire on the other hand was well recorded in the person of John D
Rockefeller. His venture into the oil trade in the early 1900's saw him earn
just over nine hundred million dollars in a single year. Currently, a total of
just over eighteen hundred people made 2016 forbes billionaire list
representing a combined wealth of 6.5 trillion dollars. Now any
aspiring trillionaire would need to consider certain factors before they
commit to a particular industry. Is it highly profitable? Does the product you
hope to bring to market possess strong demand? and lastly, is it rapidly scalable
or at least easily transportable across the globe. There are several industries
that meet these requirements and we'll begin with the most obvious which is
space. Whether it be asteroid mining or space based energy generation,
the final frontier promises vast amounts of wealth to those that can properly
harness its resources. Despite the myriad of complexities
asteroid mining faces before it can be seen as a viable business venture, a
handful of private companies including deep space industries, Kepler Energy and
Planetary Resources have drawn up plans to get into the asteroid mining game. We
also need to note that for asteroid mining to become successful, mining firms
would need to find elements that are extremely scarce here on earth
these include gold silver platinum and a few others. Beyond valuable elements
asteroids could be mined for building materials to carry out the construction
of of- world ventures like a moon colony or a large space-based habitat
NASA estimates the asteroid belt which lies between Mars and Jupiter holds over
1 million asteroids which are valued at 700 quintillion dollars. If that money
was shared on earth today each person would receive over 100 billion dollars
each. Back on the surface of the earth space-based companies could make
billions if not trillions of dollars supply electricity to the world via
orbital solar farms. An orbiting solar array could deliver up to 40 times the
annual amount of energy that a similar cell could generate on the ground. Add
in the fact that these solar arrays are still technically satellites that could
be moved to any point over the earth in mere hours and beam energy to cities that
need it on demand. The first global currency will likely be a cryptocurrency
Bitcoin etherium and the other digital currencies operates outside the realm of
highly regulated nation based economies due to the revolutionary blockchain
technology. Bitcoin as we know was created by the mysterious figure known
only as Satoshi Nakamoto in 2009. As of today a single bitcoin is worth thousands
of dollars but the value is estimated to reach over
a million dollars per Bitcoin in the next 15 years. Satoshi Nakamoto owns at
least a million bitcoins that have been untouched and stored in multiple
addresses to which only he knows the private key. This was confirmed by a
prominent Bitcoin security researcher who noticed Nakamoto was the sole miner
during the initial months of the Bitcoin system and owns all the addresses to
which the system rewarded bitcoins at the time
a simple calculation would show that if Bitcoin were to ever reach the valuation
of 1 million dollars it would make Nakamoto the first trillionaire to ever
exist. Crazier still no one would know who he was
The Winklevoss twins purchased 120,000 Bitcoin at an 11 million dollar
valuation in early 2013. Today the bitcoins they purchased are worth over
1.6 billion dollars the twins further emphasized that they
will not sell their bitcoins even when it's market cap surpasses that of gold
at eight trillion dollars. It's a possibility they are holding out until
their store of coins reaches the trillion dollar mark. In recent times several
companies have made great strides in an effort to bring artificial intelligence
to every aspect of our lives but their inventions are flawed. The AI we see
today in software and physical applications are usually function
specific or better known as targeted AIs. It's entirely possible that the first
individual to create true general-purpose AI could very well be
the first trillionaire. To understand just how important general-purpose AI
would be in the future we must first consider what qualifies on AI as
general-purpose it first needs to be able to solve
problems in a wide variety of use cases, it should be usable by someone who
really doesn't understand the AI been employed and lastly it should be
easy to connect to a business domain. An AI with all the capabilities mentioned
could for example mine asteroids autonomously in the deep reaches of
space, diagnose patients and carry out surgeries without the help of a human or
maybe even build entire cities on its own. Such an advanced and highly
efficient AI would be sought-after by every company on the face of the earth
which would mean big bucks for whichever company makes it. After considering all
the possibilities, realistically the first trillionaire will likely have his or
her money in multiple industries. On the other hand, earning money has always been a
poor way of assessing the true worth of an individual. The idealist in me hopes for
a future when our pursuit of unending wealth is replaced with compassion and
a sense of responsibility towards each other. After all, we are all we've got.
it is however more realistic that our thirst for the consolidation of wealth
will only increase as we spread out into the known universe and if that is the
case, my hope is that the acquisition of such wealth leads to the creation of new
industries and innovations with direct benefits to our species which would be a

North Korea warns 'foolish' US over sanctions: 'You will NEVER subject us to your laws'
NORTH Korea has strongly condemned the United States for passing its own sanctions against
the hermit state claiming they are a "wild violation of sovereignty under the international
law" as tensions rise on the Korean Peninsula.
The Trump administration has issued fresh sanctions as it attempts to stifle North Korea's
nuclear and missile programme and prevent a nuclear war.
Washington has imposed sanctions on 16 individuals and six North Korea vessels for their alleged
links to the state's nuclear and missile programmes.
Among the entities to suffer are two China-based trading firms which the Treasury says exported
metals and other materials required for the state's weapon programme.
A spokesperson from North Korea's foreign ministry said in a report: "The so-called
unilateral sanctions the United States has taken under its own sanctions laws are a clear
and wild violation of sovereignty under the international law that says a sovereign state
can never be subject to the judicial power of another country under any circumstance
and a serious provocation."
The individuals included in the sanctions are members of North Korea's Workers Party
operating in China, Russia and Georgia's breakaway Abkhazia region.
Among them were North Korea's vice consul in Nakhodka, Russia and an individual reportedly
involved in sending North Korean labourers to Abkhazia.
The official also said the US should stop with its "foolish" way of thinking and
"give up its anachronistic hostile policy" towards North Korea.

The US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said: "Treasury continues to systematically target
individuals and entities financing the Kim regime and its weapons programs, including
officials complicity in North Korean sanctions evasion schemed."
The US has put pressure on China, which is still an ally of North Korea, to cut off the
regime financially.
An unnamed North Korean foreign ministry spokesman also said the US sanctions are a "manifestation
of heinous intention to throw a wet blanket over the inter-Korean exchange and cooperation
and to aggravate the situation".
CIA director Mike Pompeo has said North Korea is "a handful of months" away from being able
to make a nuclear attack on the United States.
