How Gallup Coaches Can Help You Succeed Using CliftonStrengths

[Jacque Merritt, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] What I love is watching people transform over time. So it's interesting, when people get

into coaching, they almost feel that it's a selfish decision.

[Sue Bath, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] I think people have to have coaches in their lives to create excellence.

[Rachel Maglinger, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] So you've gotten this amazing assessment, but it doesn't stop there. You have

to be able to look at that and think about practical application. And sometimes that's hard to do as an individual, because you're still kind of learning

about what Strengths is all about. And I think what a great coach does is help those things come alive for you and really helping you think

about what are things that keep you up at night? What are things that you struggle with? When do you think your Strengths get in the way? How do

your Strengths get more optimized?

[Mike Kinney, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] I help people sort through the challenges that they're facing, think through what's really

causing it as well as what are their goals that they have and what do they want to do. So I get them to think about it and then I provide them a

perspective based on who they are. So it's really thinking about who they are and how they do things naturally anyway. And sometimes their

eyes are just open of yeah, I do that. And they don't even realize that they're doing that all the time. And you just provide a perspective from

outside of the person that they start to see, okay, I've got this in me, I know I can do it, and now I've got some real specific ways of how I can. They

get an opportunity to do something that is already within them and we're just helping them to really highlight it and think about what they do.

[Nancy Oberst, Workplace Consultant, Gallup]We're always asking people to take some action. To do something. To take the first step.

[Cathy DeWeese, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] We talk about goals. We talk about workplace challenges. And, through the

conversation and through some of the questions, they really, it gives them an opportunity to come up with some strategies to try. So now they

move from a space of being stuck to a space of oh, I've got some strategies. I've got a place, I've got some ideas, I've got some suggestions of

things to try, so I can go from this reality into this aspiration.

[Ryan Feagan, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup]I think the coaching that I provide to individuals and teams gives individuals, I think,

permission to really be themselves and have their own, perhaps their own style, their own method, their own ways of achieving particular things. I

believe it empowers them to deploy themselves in the best possible fashion. And I think it also gives them a sense of confidence in how they might

embrace a particular challenge or embrace a particular difficulty and be, well, more intentional in how they can, you know, get stuff done and

be more effective.

They're happier. And, because they're happier, they're more productive. Their quality increases. Their relationships increase. They want to just

be happier, healthier, more productive. It creates that ripple effect of wellbeing in their life. Everything gets better for them.

They quickly discover it's not just for them; that it really spills over into every aspect of their life. So they become better parents, better spouses,

better partners, better colleagues, better leaders, better managers. Watching them kind of step up into their responsibilities with more strength and

more confidence, more power, I think that's what I love about coaching.

You saved my job. You saved my family. No one's ever asked me that before. I've never thought about that before. Thank you for being

honest. Thank you for being direct. I know I'm a better leader. I know I'm a better manager. I know I treat people differently. I know I get better

results.

[Therese Nisbet, Senior Workplace Consultant, Gallup] The reality is when we know who we are, we are just going to be better at what we

do. So when we understand the dynamics of how we get things done or how we foster relationships or how we think, there's just

something magic when we understand who we are. Because it translates, then, into what we do every day. So having those conversations with

people, helping them think through really and truly what it is about them that gives them energy and fulfillment and having them put that into some sort

of practice as they think about what they do every day, that's a fun job.

If I Have Prediabetes, Can I Avoid Developing Diabetes? - Duration: 5:33.

Hello, I am Ty Mason of thediabetescouncil.com, researcher, writer and I have type 2 diabetes.

I want to emphasize that my perspective is coming from one with Type 2 and not Type 1.

Our channel is primarily for those with Type 2 Diabetes and PreDiabetes.

Today I want to answer the question If I have prediabetes, can I avoid developing diabetes

After you watch the video today, I invite you check out the description box for my new

ebook.

This is one of the most comprehensive diabetes meal planning book you can find.

It contains diabetes friendly meals/recipes, recipes for different goals such as 800-1800

calories per day meal plan, diabetes meal planning tips and tricks.

There are also tons of diabetes friendly recipes for everyone!

I am very happy to announce to you that the answer to this question is a resounding YES!

Especially is your diagnosis is early.

However, you must, and I must emphasize MUST, make some dramatic lifestyle changes in order

to do so.

I have done a couple of videos on these lifestyle changes, but I certainly don't mind doing

another if it can help you from developing Type 2.

How is pre-diabetes treated?

There is increasing evidence that if pre-diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance) is treated, the

progression to diabetes can be prevented.

Also, it may be possible to prevent cardiovascular disease from developing.

So, it is important to know if you have pre-diabetes and to treat it in order to reduce your risk

of developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Treatments that have been suggested include lifestyle changes and treatments with medicines.

It is also very important to have a regular blood test to recheck your blood sugar (glucose)

level in case you develop diabetes.

The frequency of the blood test will vary but you should discuss this with your doctor.

A blood glucose test at least once each year is usually recommended.

Lifestyle changes Lifestyle changes have been found to be the

most effective way to stop pre-diabetes from developing into diabetes.

Losing weight if you are overweight, and increasing your levels of physical activity, can help

to reduce insulin resistance and therefore make the insulin that is produced more effective

at controlling your blood glucose levels.

If you have pre-diabetes, you should:

Eat a healthy balanced diet.

Your practice nurse and/or a dietician will give details on how to eat a healthy diet.

The diet is the same as recommended for everyone.

The idea that you need special foods if you have pre-diabetes or diabetes is a myth.

Basically, you should aim to eat a diet low in fat, high in fibre and with plenty of starchy

foods, fruit and vegetables.

See separate leaflet called Healthy Eating.

Lose weight if you are overweight.

Getting to a perfect weight is unrealistic for many people.

However, if you are overweight or obese then losing some weight will help to reduce your

blood glucose level (and have other health benefits too).

See separate leaflet called Weight Reduction - How to Lose Weight.

Do some physical activity regularly.

If you are able, a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity at least five times a week

is advised.

For example, walking, swimming, cycling, jogging, dancing.

Ideally you should do an activity that makes you at least mildly out of breath and mildly

sweaty.

You can spread the activity over the day.

(For example, two 15-minute spells of brisk walking, cycling, dancing, etc per day.)

Regular physical activity also reduces your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

Always check with your doctor that it is safe to start exercising if you have been inactive

for a long period.

There are also other lifestyle changes that you can make to reduce your cardiovascular

disease risk.

These include:

Stopping smoking if you are a smoker.

Ensuring that you stick to the recommended alcohol intake.

See separate leaflet called Recommended Safe Limits of Alcohol for more details.

Also, make sure that your blood pressure stays within the normal range.

Have your blood pressure checked regularly with your practice nurse.

Also, discuss with your doctor or practice nurse if you need a cholesterol check and/or

treatment to lower your cholesterol level.

Treatments with medicines A number of medical trials have looked at

the use of various treatments with medicines for people with pre-diabetes to see if they

can help to prevent diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Medicines that have been trialled include metformin, acarbose, a group of medicines

called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and another group of medicines

called angiotensin-II receptor antagonists.

Lifestyle changes (as indicated above) are the most important thing if you are found

to have pre-diabetes.

However, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended

that metformin should be used if a lifestyle-change programme isn't successful or isn't possible

because of a disability or medical reasons.

A medicine called orlistat may also be recommended to help lose weight and therefore reduce the

risk of developing diabetes.

What follow-up is needed if you have pre-diabetes?

If you are found to have pre-diabetes (impaired glucose tolerance), it is important that you

be followed up regularly by your doctor.

This will usually mean a blood test to check your fasting blood sugar (glucose) level at

least once a year.

This is to make sure that you have not developed diabetes.

Your doctor is also likely to keep a check on any other risk factors that you may have

for cardiovascular disease.

So, they may monitor your weight and your blood pressure and also suggest a blood test

to check your cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

In the meantime, if you develop any symptoms of diabetes, you should visit your doctor

sooner.

Symptoms include excess thirst, passing large amounts of urine, tiredness, weight loss and

feeling generally unwell.

Symptoms tend to develop quite slowly, over weeks or months.

Don't forget to get my new ebook and please, subscribe to our channel for many more videos

like this one in the future.

Thanks for watching.

I am Ty Mason.

Can a WOMAN be a LEADER? | هل المرأة قائدة؟ - Duration: 6:35.

Hello boys and girls. 2 weeks ago,

Ihsan Barakat became the first woman in Jordan's history to become a Supreme Court Judge

Despite much support from Jordanians, there were of course people who thought against this.

Today's main question is: What jobs can a woman do/not do? And can she be a leader?

Let's head down to Swefieh and see what people think.

"2 weeks ago Ihsan Barakat became the first female Supreme Court Judge." "ok"

"Do you support this?" "Of course."

"This is progress"

"Of course I support it"

"Yes women can be judges"

"Some say she can't hold this kind of position, but they can & they do. They've proved it to everyone."

"She became a judge for her abilities, her qualifications. Not her sex."

"I mean you already have tons of women as judges in other courts. This isn't weird."

"It's a ladder. You climb this ladder to reach the top. Many women can't complete it, she did."

"Women are an essential part of society. Why not?"

"No. I don't prefer women to be judges." "Why?" "Women are emotional and sensitive...

... She's not as qualified as a man to issue judgements."

"What emotions & sensitivities? This is law. These are rules. She's not making law & rules. There are no emotions."

Are there jobs a woman can't do?

"Yes there are. There are some jobs they aren't strong enough to do."

"Yes of course. Like a barber, a carpenter, a gas station worker."

"Equality doesn't mean sameness. You don't need to be equal in everything if you have differences."

"Equality means doing what I want, without trying to do what others are better at."

"In construction, a man can grab heavy pieces and move them. Sorry but a woman just can't."

"This just can't happen, you get me?"

"We're gonna flip the question now. Are there things a man shouldn't/can't do?

"In my opinion, yes, a man can do anything."

"Anything."

"A man and woman should be able to do whatever they like."

"Nah, a man can do anything."

"He can be anything. Well almost, he can't be a gynecologist, for example."

"You said there are some jobs a woman can't be. What about a president?"

"Maybe in foreign countries, but here in the Arab world it's hard."

"Of course she can"

"Yes, but it's difficult in the Arab society."

"No. For me, it's a no."

"Society is harsh. They'll comment on anything she does. 'That skirt is too short!' 'She's not acting properly!'"

"The Quran says that men are to rule over women."

"Yes." "Even in Arab countries?" "Well Arab governments aren't exactly geniuses, a child could do as well."

"Lastly: Hypothetically, if a man and woman are both running for a governmental position and have the same opinions and qualifications. Who do you vote for?"

"If the man is more qualified, I'll vote for him. If the woman is more qualified, I'm voting for her!"

"I'm voting for the woman only because she needs more support in this society."

"Sex doesn't matter."

"For the man. Because there's no boundaries between me and him."

"I can talk to him at anytime, after midnight, at 1AM, if something happened, a problem, whatever. Can't do that with a woman. It's not proper."

"It's the person's qualifications and reputation that matter. Not sex."

"If they're both qualified, then it doesn't matter to me."

"Okay, thanks man..."

It's results time! We asked 70 people 5 questions.

#1: Can women be Supreme Court Judges?

80% support this. 10% are against it, while 8% had no opinions and a tiny 2% had other ideas...

#2: Are there jobs a woman can't do?

50% stated a woman can do anything. 40% said there are some jobs, but only a few, while a further 10% say there are many jobs she can't do.

#3: Are there jobs a man can't do?

75% said he can be anything, while 25% believe there are a few jobs he shouldn't do.

#4: Can a women be Head of State / a leader?

85% say she can, while 15% believe she can't.

#5: Man and woman running for government. Same qualifications and opinions. Who do you vote for?

75% said it doesn't matter to them, while 15% would vote for the man, and a further 10% would vote for women.

Sony XB60 Review - Now You Can Have Wall Shacking Bass EVERYWHERE - Duration: 16:48.

Sony didn't just drop their 1000XM2 headphones last week, they also released two new portable

Extra Bass speakers.

THIS is the Sony GTK-XB60, if you've ever thought hmm….

Like the XB40 but I wish it was larger and much louder then the XB60 is your answer.

So, how does this new speaker preform?

We're about to find out.

Don't forget to like comment and subscribe and you can watch some of my other videos

here after you're done watching this video.

And there will be a sound test at the end of this video too.

Like most Sony speakers, the Sony GTK-XB60 come in multiple color ways.

You can either get it in black or blue.

The Sony XB60 currently retails for $349.99 and its just $100 more than the XB40.

But unlike the XB30 and XB40 which also have a hundred dollar price difference between

them but only slightly minor performance differences… the jump from the XB40 to the XB60 is much

bigger.

If you want to pick this speaker up I'll have links in the description below and I'll

keep them updated so you can get the best deal possible.

Sony speakers routinely go on sale so you might get lucky.

The Sony XB60 uses the same materials as the Sony XB7.

The majority of the body is made out of textured hard plastic and on the back theres some wood

paneling.

There are rubber pads on the bottom and on it side so you can stand the speaker up right

or lay it flat.

And there are handles on either side that really make transporting this speaker much

easier.

Just like all other Sony Extra Bass speakers the XB60 has a metal grill on the front, and

a built in light feature.

The XB60 has a hight of 21.73 inches a width of 10.39 inches and a depth of 10.71 inches

and weighs in at 17.64 pounds.

Or for my international peoples this speaker is .55 meters by .26 meters by .27 meters

respectively.

And it weighs 8 kilos.

And a good chunk of that weight is due to the rechargeable battery.

But for those wondering, NO this speaker is not water proof.

So don't get it wet.

Concerning speaker set up, the Sony XB60 has dual 50 millimeter or 2 inch tweeters in the

center… and dual 130 millimeter or 5 inch woofers.

You have a ring of full color LEDS, strobe lights on the top and bottom and there are

single color lights that illuminate the woofers themselves.

On the top of the speaker you'll see theres your power button, volume control buttons,

and thankfully they added a play/pause button.

And this is a big deal because on the Sony XB5 and XB7 there was no play/pause button

so if your phone or the included remote wasn't near by you couldn't control your music

playback.

And for those wondering… the XB60 does not have an included controller.

But honestly I don't care.

And you'll also find other buttons like the Function button to cycle between your

audio sources, and the Add and Party chain button.

You can also use the party chain button to turn off the light feature by pressing and

holding.

If you have two Sony XB60's you can pair them together and have them play in stereo

mode or if you have other XB speakers like the XB30, XB40, or the larger XB90 you can

pair up to 10 speakers together and have them all play in sync.

And thankfully Sony streamlined the pairing process on the XB60 and XB90.

All you have to do is press the Party chain button on each speaker and you're done.

Just like JBL Speakers.

A little further up you'll also see a slit where you can rest your phone or tablet and

a even more up you'll find an NFC touch point.

On the back of the speaker you'll find RCA ports so you can daisy chain more speakers

together, a USB port and a mic input.

But Sony did not include a 3.5 millimeter audio jack which is a bummer.

Through the USB port you can charge your own phone and play MP3, WMA, and WAV files on

most devices.

But you cant play music through the USB port when using Apple devices so you're stuck

with only a bluetooth connection.

But like I've said in the past, Sony does a really good job of having a really clear

wireless Audio Connection on both their speakers and headphones.

So personally I don't really need an Audio jack on the XB60 but I know for some certain

users it might be a must have.

Concerning Tech specs, the Sony XB60 is using bluetooth 4.2 and can be paired up to 3 devices

at the same time.

And you've got a wireless range of around 40 feet with direct line of sight.

And it also does a really good job of keeping a solid connection through multiple walls.

When it comes to battery life the Box says its good for 14 hours with an Asterisk.

You can get 14 hours of playback with the lights turned off and at a low volume.

But real world use with the light feature turned on and the speaker at a moderate volume

I've averaged about 7 hours.

But when the volume is at max and with the light on I've averaged 4 hours of playback.

So if you plan on taking this somewhere remember to pack the charging cable.

New to the XB60 and XB90 is stamina mode and basically what it does is that it reduces

the output of the speakers.

So there wont be as much bass, it wont get as loud, and the sound isn't as crisp.

but you'll be able to squeeze out about to more hours of playback time.

And thankfully Sony got rid of the please charge feature that was on the XB40 and XB30.

When the battery on the XB60 gets below 20% it'll simply say please charge and flash

a few times and thats it.

BUT It will no longer nag you to put it back on the charger or limit the volume like the

XB40 or the XB30.

And for those wondering, if you press and hold the stamina button the speaker will tell

you its current battery percentage.

Concerning sound quality, this speaker is all about bass and loudness.

At max volume this thing averages about 82 decibels.

But its also a very directional speaker, if you stand off to the side or behind it all

you're going to get is sub bass.

So placement is very important with this speaker.

For the most part, I like how this speaker sounds.

But I think theres still room for improvement concerning instrument separation and the highs.

It just sounds like everything is too close together and it hard to pick instruments apart

and the highs like to resonate a bit.

But this speaker has almost zero distortion at max volume which was a problem with the

XB7.

But through Sony's Music center app you can either select from a few pre made EQ's,

make your own or you can just use Sony's ClearAudio+ setting.

And what ClearAudio+ does is that it automatically adjust's the speakers settings depending

on what you're listening to.

There are also some DJ Effects but all those do is distort the sound so I never touch those.

Through Music center you can also adjust the light mode on the Sony XB60.

You can choose from Rave, Chill, a rave mode without the strobe lights, Hot where only

reds and oranges will flash, cool where only blues and greens will flash, theres strobe,

and there are a few calm options as well.

But I dont know whats going on with Sony's App development teams.

Sony's headphones App is solid… it works most the time, the UI is good enough and its

easy to toggle the settings of the 1000XM2's.

Sony's Music center app only works half the time, and from a UI standpoint it takes

to many steps to get the the EQ, or get to the light settings or even just check the

battery life.

I don't know why the app layout for the XB60 isn't like the 1000XM2.

And then theres fiestable which is just an eye sore but you can adjust the color of the

light feature on the XB60 after you've selected one of the previously mentioned light modes.

So if you want blue strobe lights fiestable can make it happen.

But regardless, Sony needs to step up their app game.

The biggest pet peeve I have with the Sony XB30 and XB40 is that when the battery on

either of those speakers get below 20% the speakers will abruptly lower the volume, repeatedly

say please charge and wont let the volume go above 20% so you have no other option than

to put the speaker back on the charger even though you still had 20% battery.

Thankfully the XB60 dosnt do that, but it still has a weird quirk.

Everytime you plug the XB60 to charge after you've used it even though the speaker is

off the speaker will go into demo mode and continuously cycle through the light modes.

So every time you plug it in to charge you have to wait a few seconds and then press

and hold the party chain button to turn off the light feature even though the speaker

is off to begin with.

Its just annoying, if I have the speaker off I want it completely off.

I don't know why Sony does things like this, its like they actively sabotage their own

products.

So whats the verdict on the Sony XB60, if you're all about bass and loudness then

for its size its pretty good.

But like I said the Highs and instrument separation could be better.

Its pretty versatile, if you want to take it with you on the go or hook it up to your

tv you can do either of those things.

Even though there is a built in battery, don't for get the power cord.

For a $350 portable blue tooth speaker the XB60 is all about sound and looks.

Its not as durable as lets say the JBL Extreme and it is teetering on the edge of "is this

thing too big to lug around" But its small enough that it will fit in most places and

the carrying handles make lugging this 18 pound brick easy enough.

Personally I think this speaker is perfect for campus life if you're in college.

And heres the sound test.

I'm going to cycle through some speakers of the same size.

As always the all of the speakers will be playing at the same decibel level streaming

from the same device and the same distance away from the same mic so hopefully the only

difference

is

sound quality.

How Can I Get Ahead in Life Compilation - Duration: 14:37.

How do I get ahead in life?

The truth is, you can't get ahead in life

by leaving God behind.

God's the one who gives us everything

and he wants us to put him first

when it comes to the use of our time,

talents, treasures,

our temple,

and his truth.

The church word for that is "stewardship."

Now stewardship has gotten a bad rap,

but stewardship is a vital part

of the Christian life.

A steward is just another word for a manager.

And so stewardship

is managing God's resources

God's way

because of God's love.

And we're not just talking about

10 percent of our money.

We're talking about 100 percent

of everything he gives us.

And so each day this week,

we're going to take a look at one of those five T's

that God gives us to manage.

And so I want to start with talents today.

The Apostle Peter says,

"Each one of you

should use whatever gifts he has received

to serve others."

So first off,

how many of you have gifts?

Well, Peter says each one.

I actually know some people

who have said that

they don't have any gifts.

But that's simply not true.

God has given everyone talents

and he wants us to use those talents

not to serve ourselves

but to serve others.

I love the way the Apostle Paul

pictures God's relationship

with us and our relationship

to each other when it comes to our talents.

This is what he says in 1 Corinthians,

You are the body of Christ.

What's Paul's point?

Well, first off,

there is nothing in the body

that I want to sacrifice.

Do you think you're an unimportant

part of Christ's body?

Think again.

Do you think your toenails are unimportant?

Well, I just recently golfed with someone who,

because of an accident,

lost his big toenail

and he had to golf in flip flops.

You know what? He would tell you

just how important that big toenail is,

especially from the sand trap.

But secondly,

when it comes to our talents,

we have to realize that each one

is unique.

There is no one like you.

No one has the same gift set as you.

The body needs you.

And since you're part of the body,

one body,

there's no need for jealousy in the church.

My gift is your gift

and your gift is my gift

because we are part of that one body.

When a pitcher throws a no-hitter,

the paper doesn't say the next day,

"His right arm won the day."

No,

it gives credit to the whole person.

And here's the best part:

Jesus is our head.

He loves us so much

that he won forgiveness for us

on a cross

so that through faith,

he made us part of his body.

And this is

such a beautiful thing to think through.

Jesus doesn't need

anything.

But he chooses to need you

as part of his body.

And now he gives you talents

to serve him

and to give him glory

and to serve

one another.

God's blessings on your service to him.

How much time in an average day

would you say you waste?

Probably more than we'd like to admit, right?

What are the prime suspects?

There's TV.

You've got email.

Devices.

Internet.

Facebook.

These very things

that were meant to save us time,

it's ironic to me that

they're some of our biggest time wasters.

Not that they're bad things.

I mean, is it wrong to

watch a 21-minute Netflix episode

to wind down at night?

No.

But six hours of binge watching?

I think you see my point, right?

Listen to what the Apostle Paul says.

So we want to use our time in a way

that is pleasing to the spirit,

not to our sinful flesh.

Now, does that have to be bad things?

No, not necessarily.

It's all about keeping the proper priority in life.

The church father Augustine

called God

"the highest good"

and he said that anything we put above God

becomes evil even if it's a good thing

like our work or even our families.

So it's not necessarily that we love bad things.

It's just that sometimes,

we

love

good things badly.

But there was one who never wasted a second.

He never viewed a minute

of his time as his own.

He never hesitated to wake up

each day

and live each day for you

and die on a cross for you

so that one day,

you could spend each day with him forever.

Now, does that change things,

knowing that

that we have eternal life waiting for us?

Absolutely.

And so let's say you wake up one day

and you

have the alarm clock going off,

the most annoying noise in the entire world,

and it won't

shut off, kind of like on the movie Groundhog's Day.

And you throw it out against the wall and

and then you sit up in bed

and you hit your bed, head on the headboard.

And then you get out of bed and you walk

down to the end of the bed and you stub your toe

on the footboard and and then the coffeemaker broke

so you have no coffee

and you get in the shower

and the water heater went out through the night.

How good is the first 11 minutes of your day?

Not so good.

But now imagine that the whole rest of the day

was the best day you have ever had in your life.

Everyone's nice to you.

You meet the love of your life and

you get engaged in the same day.

You win the lottery three times without even playing.

Just, you name it.

You get a promotion at work.

It's just the best day.

Now, imagine that I come to you

at the end of the day and I say,

"So, how was your day?"

What would you say?

"Ugh, you would not believe my first 11 minutes."

No!

You wouldn't even remember that first 11 minutes

because of how awesome that day was.

That's what it's like knowing that

we have eternity before us,

knowing that my life is just a sliver

compared to eternity.

I can give a ridiculous amount of myself

and my time in service to God

and my neighbor.

And in fact, that line doesn't even do it justice.

What is the hymn writer John Newton

say in "Amazing Grace?"

"When we've been there, 10,000 years,

we've no less days to sing God's praise

than when we'd first begun."

What better way to use our time

than for Jesus.

God wants us to be managers

of the body or the temple

that he's given us.

This is what he says in God's Word,

he says,

Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.

That puts in perspective

how we want to treat our bodies.

Well, how do you treat temples?

In the last congregation

that I served, shortly before I arrived,

someone actually threw a beer bottle

through one of the beautiful

stained glass windows of the church.

What do you suppose people's reaction

was when when they heard about that?

They were appalled!

They said,

"This is a church! You can't do that to a church!"

And that's a right reaction.

Because that building

is a symbol of God's presence.

And yet,

it's still just a building.

How much more appalling is it

if we defile the temple

where the Holy Spirit says

he dwells?

And now truth be told,

scripture gives us an awful lot of freedom

in making decisions about how we manage

our bodies.

Christians

can disagree

or make different decisions, we'll say,

and they can still be good Christians.

I know some Christians who drink

coffee and soda and some who don't.

I know Christians that

drink beer or wine

and some who don't.

I know some that work out seven times a week,

or two to three times a week,

or one time a week.

Is it wrong to eat a Big Mac?

I kind of like Big Macs.

Everything in moderation, right?

The point is this:

If you remember that your body

is a temple of the Holy Spirit,

then it helps you make those decisions

about how you're going to treat your body.

And Paul gives us the "why."

He says,

"You are not your own.

You were bought at a price."

There we were,

penniless and alone,

destined for the fire of hell,

and an eternity of suffering,

when someone saw us

and took pity on us

and simply put, loved us.

Jesus went to his father

and asked,

"What will it take to buy them?"

And the father said,

"Only the most priceless offering will do."

And so Jesus offered himself on the cross.

You were bought at a price.

That almost sounds like an understatement.

So what is the only thing

we can think to do?

Honor God

with the body he's given you.

God wants us to manage his truth.

He's entrusted it to us.

1 Corinthians 4 says,

Well, so how do you manage

God's truth?

A part of it

has to do with

just appreciating the treasure

that we have here,

and not go looking for meaning in our lives

anywhere else.

There was a farmer who lived in Pennsylvania

in the 1850s.

And he was very happy on his farm.

But then his cousin moved to Canada

to go work the oil fields.

And suddenly the farm didn't seem that great.

And so he sold the farm.

The county records said that he sold it

for $883.

When the

new owner came out to survey the land,

he came across this stream.

And he noticed that the farmer

had placed a board diagonally on the stream

because there was this black scum

on the water

and the cattle didn't want to drink.

And so he put the board there

and it would skim off the black scum

so that the animals would drink.

Do you know what the black scum was?

The farm was in Titusville, Pennsylvania,

where there is so much oil,

it, it seeped out of the ground

and went into the streams and rivers.

In Titusville, Pennsylvania

is the site of John D. Rockefeller

and Standard Oil.

The farmer sold the farm for $883

and for the next 50 years,

Titusville was the site

of the most millionaires per capita

in the world

because it turns out

the only thing you needed to become a millionaire

in Titusville

was to

own a farm.

The guy went searching halfway around the world

for something he already had.

When you're searching for treasure,

you don't have to go anywhere else.

You have that treasure right here.

Just think about what you have

in this book.

You have a love letter

from your father in heaven,

written and signed

in the blood of Jesus

that gives you all of the answers

to life's biggest questions.

It gives you counsel

in every situation.

Comfort

in every tragedy.

And it tells you about

the heaven that waits for you

because of Jesus' life and death for you.

This is the truth

you've been entrusted with.

So how do we manage it?

Well,

it starts with:

read it every day.

Always

be prepared to give an answer

to someone who objects to it.

We want to make sure we read it every day.

We want to make sure that we don't

water it down.

We want to make sure that we read it every day.

And then we also

want to share it with everyone

in our lives.

And then, oh yeah,

read it every day.

And then

make this

the only guide for our lives.

Did I mention

read it every day?

God's blessings as you manage God's truth.

Let's say that you go to the bank down the road,

and you take $10,000 to put on deposit there,

expecting the bank manager to

manage the money and then

come back with interest.

And after a year you go back,

and you say to the bank manager,

"I'd like my $10,000."

And the bank manager hands you a check for

$6,423.

And you say,

"What in the world? I gave you $10,000.

I'm expecting it back with interest."

And the bank manager says,

"Oh, you're totally gonna understand this.

You see, my wife and I haven't been on a vacation

in forever.

And then she saw these shoes

that she absolutely needed, and, well,

here's a check for $6,423."

Would you be okay with that?

No way! You would say,

"But that was

my money."

Right?

Do you view

your money

from God's perspective

or do we view it as

our money

like that bank manager?

God tells us that

in order for us to have contentment in life

we need to make him the priority.

And so he gives us guidance in his word

about how to do just that.

This is what it says in 1 Corinthians 16.

It says,

And so I want to break down

what this passage teaches us

about putting God first.

On the first day

of every week.

In other words, this goes back

to the whole priority thing

we were just talking about.

That God wants us to make

this the first thing that we do.

It's what gives us contentment.

What would you rather have?

Contentment or a billion dollars?

There's a right answer.

It's contentment.

And we can't have contentment unless we put God first.

Next it says,

"Each one of you."

In other words,

everyone who's been blessed

can give. This includes children.

And I think this is one of the neatest lessons

for both parent and child

when this takes place.

When Grandma and Grandpa give

my 4-year-old

$5 for her birthday,

and I say to her,

"Well, how much do you want to give to Jesus?",

do you know what she says at that age?

She says,

"All of it."

And then I'm in the awkward position of going,

"Oh, sweetie. You don't need to give all of it."

But it's such a powerful lesson.

Why does she want to give all of it?

It's because she implicitly trusts me

to provide for her needs.

We can trust God, too.

And finally, he says,

"in keeping with his income,

saving it up."

So God wants us to plan

our offerings

and then give a proportionate amount.

Is $10,000 a big offering?

Well, absolutely

if you make $50,000 a year.

But if you make a billion dollars a year,

not so much.

Well, why are we going to want to do this?

Well, it's a way for us to say "Thank you."

This is the time in worship

when we can say "Thank you"

with not just our mouths

but our hands as well.

The Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians,

Managing our treasures

is one way that we can say,

"Thank you, Jesus."

Conte tells Hazard he can challenge world's best if he is more ruthless - Duration: 4:00.

Chelsea vs Manchester City: Antonio Conte tells Eden Hazard he can challenge world's best players if he is more ruthless

ANTONIO CONTE wants Eden Hazard to be more ruthless.

The Chelsea boss says his Belgian magician needs that touch of steel to be classed alongside superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard is preparing to start against Man City.

Antonio Conte thinks Eden hazard can become of of the worlds best.

Hazard will start his first Prem game this season against Manchester City tonight.

Conte said: "Sometimes, if he scores one goal, he's happy and then, if there is another situation, he prefers to make an assist rather than scoring twice.

"I see, for Ronaldo, that if he scores once he wants two, three, four.

It's the same for Messi.

"Yes, he can improve in that specific situation.

I ask this because one player with his talent, it's important to ask him to be decisive every game.

"If God gives you this talent, you must exploit this talent.

My task is sometimes to push him to be decisive in every moment, in every game.".

Hazard, 26, missed the start of the season with an ankle injury.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have remained a step ahead of their competition.

Real Madrid star Ronaldo is the reigning world player of the year.

But he adapted to a role as a second striker as Chelsea become the first English team to beat Atletico Madrid at home in Europe on Wednesday.

Conte added: "Eden is a top player.

This season he has a big opportunity because we can play in the Champions League.

   .

Antonio Conte claims Eden Hazard needs to add a ruthless streak.

"This season is very important for Eden.

The Champions League, together with the Premier League, is important to show you  can compete to be the best.

"I'm pleased because, after a bad injury, now he's fit.

"I think this season has started for Eden with a big game against Atletico Madrid, and now he has to show he deserves to stay with the best.

Cooking with Cast Iron: Yes, You Can Use a Little Soap - Duration: 3:16.

Lynne Rossetto Kasper: I recently downsized and let me tell you, scaling back my kitchen

of thirty years was a painful process.

My good knives made the cut, my big colander, my forty year-old wok, and my cast iron pans.

Now, as great as they are, there are a lot of questionable myths about cast iron cookware.

Well, to separate fact from fiction, our contributor Noelle Carter went to J. Kenji López-Alt,

Managing Culinary Director of Serious Eats and author of "The Food Lab" column.

Noelle Carter: So, cast iron--it's popular and, while it has a lot of fans in the food

world, it can be mysterious and, well, intimidating.

J. Kenji López-Alt: The issue that comes up with it, is maintaining the seasoning which

is the layer of polymers that form when you heat oil in it and that's what gives a cast

iron pan its non-stick properties and what makes it such a good surface for cooking on.

The general idea is that acidic foods will wreck your seasoning.

This is actually not really the case.

The seasoning is actually pretty tough.

It's a polymer that ends up filling in the little gaps and holes in the bottom of your

pan giving it a smooth surface.

So cooking acidic foods in it will not really strip that.

I wouldn't recommend cast iron as a pan to cook like a six-hour long tomato source or

something like that.

But, if you're going to sear a steak or a chicken breast and then you want to make a

quick pan sauce, you can do that just fine.

Soap will get rid of oil, but it won't break down that seasoning.

Rinse it.

Put it back on the stove top.

You don't want it to sit wet because that will cause it to rust, so once you're done

cleaning it, you just throw it back on a burner and let that excess moisture cook out until

the pan is a little bit hot and then rub a thin layer of oil into there with a paper

towel.

Noelle Carter: Let's say that I'm at a garage sale and I run across a really good-looking

cast iron pan, is there anything that I should look for before I buy it?

J. Kenji López-Alt: If you can find a pan that is polished, smooth, and shiny and has

that nice satiny luster to it that obviously someone has already taken the time to clean

it and season it for you, then you're really lucky.

If, on the other hand, you find a pan that has something that is tarnishing or rust,

often those pans are still quite good.

What you really want to look for is any kind of pitting or warping in the metal, because

older cast iron was a little bit thinner than modern cast iron and with repeated use could

get warps.

It would sag in the bottom or bulge out, sometimes even crack.

Noelle Carter: Do you have any favorite dishes you like to cook in cast iron?

J. Kenji López-Alt: If I'm cooking indoors, I can't think of a better way to cook a steak.

You place a steak in there, you get a better sear than you get out of anything, pretty

much.

I roast whole chickens in it.

It's great because it can go from the stove top to the oven.

I make bread and pizza in mine.

Noelle Carter: Pizza?

J. Kenji López-Alt: Yeah.

One recipe I have that I really enjoy is a no-knead pizza where you basically mix together

the dough and just dump it into the cast iron pan that has a little bit of olive oil in

it.

Then you just let the dough sit there, and it fills up the pan to the edges and rises

a little bit.

Then you just top it and throw it in the oven and it comes out like a deep-dish pan pizza

with like really sort of crispy almost like fried in olive oil focaccia-type edges.

If you're looking for brown and crispy, then the cast iron pan is a great way to get there.

Noelle Carter: It can't be beat.

Can I do a REAL Swedish accent? - Duration: 4:26.

Hello everyone, today I thought I would do a video where I only speak with a Sweden-Swedish accent.

And...

..why?? You might be asking yourselves.

But I thought it would be a really good exercise for me to practice my Swedish accent

since I am an actor.

And it's also good to challenge yourself...

God...

Yeah, so it's good to challenge yourself and try new things.

I've always thought the Sweden-Swedish accent is really fun because it sounds so different

than the Swedish accent that we have in Finland.

Because most of you perhaps know that I am from Finland so I speak 'finlandssvenska' (Finland-Swedish)

but... not today!

I watch Swedish YouTubers quite a lot. I watch Therese Lindgren and I also watch Clara Henry.

And I think it's, I love to imitate the Sweden-Swedish accent, although I'm not that good at it...

Haha oh god...

It's even more rough than trying to speak Swedish in my normal accent.

Duh...

Yeah so I watch a fair amount of Swedish YouTubers and I'm always fascinated by how differently they...

*struggling to find the right Swedish pronounciation of 'they' *

I don't know how to say that...

How they pronounce some things, for example, Therese Lindgren likes to eat 'susschhi'

and I would perhaps pronounce sushi with my normal accent 'sushi'.

'Susschi'.

Yeah so I think that's pretty cute and what else is it they always say...?

Oh of course they talk about 'käka' (eat), they 'käkar sussschhi'.

And like, oh! One thing I really struggle with is saying things like 'tjugo' (twenty) 'sjutton' (seventeen).

I am, as some of you might know, an actor.

Perhaps I meantioned it at the start of the video?

So I have actually done a few commercials for Sweden and then I've had to prove that

I sound like a Swedish person and not like a Finnish person speaking Swedish.

I've done one commercial for Quorn that perhaps a few you have seen on TV

this was about three or four years ago that it aired.

And then I've done, even longer ago, I did a ad campaign for the Swedish cider

brand or company Rekorderlig.

These weren't shown on TV but they were online and so on.

And before I got this part in this Rekorderlig commercial, it was me and just actual Swedes in London.

I guess that they liked what I had done during my audition but they were a bit worried about

me being from Finland and not from Sweden because it was really important for Rekorderlig

that it was actual Swedes in these ads.

So then I had to record a little video clip of myself where I....

*Struggling to pronounce the word 'själv'* That's also a difficult word to pronounce.

I had to record a little video of myself where I spoke in a Sweden-Swedish accent

that I would call 'rikssvensk' accent but that you would perhaps call just plain Swedish

or a standard Swedish accent, whatever.

Oh god it was so humiliating, I don't think I have the tape left.

But apparently it did the job, because the big bosses at Rekorderlig decided my Swedish accent was good enough.

This was an English speaking commercial but they still wanted to make sure I could speak proper Swedish.

Because I could of course do the Swedish accent in English, that's like my favorite accent to do.

My gosh, I'm embarrassing myself so much in this video.

It's okay, in the name of entertainment everything is ok.

That was it, that was all I had to say...

I think.

In my Sweden-Swedish accent.

If you think I did a somewhat OK job with this accent then please give this video a thumbs up!

If you want to hear what I normally sound like when I speak Swedish there is a ton of

videos on my channel in a playlist that's called 'Svenska videos'

where you can hear how I speak normally.

And I promise that I sound much more reasonable and intelligent and normal in those videos.

*struggling again, what else is new....* I don't know how to say 'videos'.

Anyway, thanks so much for watching this video.

... That's correct, right?

God.

Ok. Goodbye!!

Goodbye!

क्या सपनों को रिकॉर्ड किया जा सकता हैं ?? can we records the dreams in hindi - Duration: 3:40.

dreams are unique incidents happened with us.

we spend our 6 years in dreaming.

most of the dreams forget by us.when we sleep our brain starts working

and make that kind of imaginations whic are scary and happiness.

but the question arises is that can we record the night dreams can we see it again.

do you think in reality the dreams are waves is they keeping some information is waves

are like brain waves the answer is yes.

i told you about it brain waves and radio waves both are made up of electronic waves.

thses waves travels speed of light.

when we think our thousand of neurons fire on one frequency and make a waves.

this waves moves 10 to 100 cycle per second.

but the radio waves moves 50,00,00,000 / second.

scientist measure the brain working by dreaming and continuous interfere in it by their equipments

which find the areas which is responsible for dreaming.

that's strange why human got sleep and in sleep why dreams come? because now this question

is a mystery no one has strong evidences to prove it.

either have many illustrations and theories on it.

not prove it.

in reality we never know person saw which kind of dream.

if we wake him ask about their dream.

there is no machine invent who can read the brain.

you got surprised scientist develop a technique made for reading the brain it starts from

fuctional MRI SCANNER.

inside it it shows normal image of it in black&white

image pixels.

for example we shows '' T '' word to a one person then the software record it.

as the brain process

but ithis is not enough for more discoveries scientist used some strange scenes and we

trace their dreams by this method.on this machining process when someone is sleeping

in MRI we wake him and ask of their dream.

what he is dreaming.

I CAN'T CORNROW!!! EASY NATURAL HAIR FLAT TWIST & BUN TUTORIAL W/ MARLEY HAIR || PROTECTIVE STYLE - Duration: 7:36.

Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel it's your girl Genny and today's video is gonna

be a very quick hair tutorial natural hair for my friends and everyone

else that can't really do it all the cornrows and stuff so today we're gonna

be doing the flat twist you know and this is basically going to be flat twist

all the way to the back and for this hairstyle the first thing I had to do my

hair is currently washed so it's kind of like damp and then I put in my leave-in

conditioner and now I divided my whole natural hair into two equal halves and I

took each half to divide into half again if that makes sense so in total I will

have like 4 flat twist braids all the way to the back so I put my eco styler

gel just to hold this together before I start doing my flat twist

don't worry about any of the white residue or whatever it is it's gonna dry

up at the end of the day because if your hair is short or it was shorter than mine

or as short as mine you need more products definitely if you enjoyed this

video please don't forget to give me a big thumbs up comment share subscribe

and don't forget to follow me on all my social medias snap chat, Instagram, Twitter

and Facebook and let's continue this tutorial and I hope you guys actually do

enjoy it let me know what you all think about this flat twist

so now as you all can see I'm currently done with the whole flat twist all the way to

the back so I am currently just laying my edges you know get those edges ah legit

all so I'll get us I just laying down really nice and sleek and then I would

go in with my head tie to wrap around my hair and then I will leave it to dry and

you guys will see how all the white residues from the gel and other products

disappeared at the end of the day when the hair was dry

so now my hair's currently dry as you can see on all the white residue is gone

so I'll be going in my marley hair which I'll be attaching to my natural hair

with this black rubber band so attach this to the marley hair so that I can be

able to attach the marley hair to my natural hair so to the little ponytail I

have at the back so I'll be creating two pigtail buns with this flat twist behind

my hair so now attach this attach this and when I attach this to my natural

hair I'll be splitting this marley hair into two equal halves and I would take

one section at a time and roll it over my hair

you know you don't want to make this too tight because you know when you make your

your back braids tight it kind of hooks to your neck and then you can't really

move your neck so you don't really want to be in that situation so you just want

to take this loosely around your little natural hair and then yeah I'm basically

just create a bun and it looks as natural as possible

I'm Currently done with the whole natural hair, I'll just basically use my bobby

pins to secure this hair and that's basically it I hope you guys really

enjoyed the tutorial don't forget to thumbs up and subscribe and I will see

you in my next one I love you

I DON'T KNOW.

I THOUGHT I HEARD FROM GOD ONCE, AND, BOY, I MADE A BIG FOOL

OUT OF MYSELF, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S GONNA WORK FOR ME."

YOU KNOW, HEARING FROM GOD IS NOT LIKE HEARING FROM A PERSON.

WHEN WE SAY, "HEARING FROM GOD," WE'RE NOT TALKIN' ABOUT HEARING

VOICES.

A LOT OF HEARING FROM GOD IS JUST A KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE

INSIDE ABOUT WHAT YOU SHOULD DO OR YOU SHOULDN'T DO.

YOU FEEL RIGHT ABOUT IT OR WRONG ABOUT IT.

IT'S CALLED, "A STILL SMALL VOICE, THE WHISPERS OF GOD."

AND WE ALL HAVE THOSE.

WE ALL HAVE THEM.

MANY PEOPLE JUST DON'T HAVE ENOUGH CONFIDENCE TO KNOW

HOW TO LISTEN TO THEM.

PEOPLE ASK ME A LOT ABOUT THE CALL ON MY LIFE,

AND, "HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT GOD WAS CALLING YOU?

WELL, YOU KNOW, I STILL DON'T KNOW THAT I KNEW 100% FOR SURE,

BUT I WAS JUST GUTSY ENOUGH TO STEP OUT IN AND TRY IT.

AND I DON'T KNOW THAT WE EVER KNOW 100% FOR SURE THAT WE'RE

HEARING FROM GOD UNTIL WE TAKE THAT STEP OF FAITH AND FIND OUT.

I ALWAYS SAY, "STEP OUT AND FIND OUT."

YOU DO THE VERY BEST YOU CAN DO TO BELIEVE THAT WHAT YOU'RE

DOING IS THE WILL OF GOD, AND THEN YOU DON'T DO SOME REAL

STUPID THING THAT'S GONNA CAUSE YOU ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS IF YOU

HAPPEN TO BE WRONG.

BUT YOU TAKE A TINY STEP OF FAITH AND YOU SEE

IF GOD'S IN IT.

I STARTED A BIBLE STUDY AND PEOPLE CAME.

AND AFTER 5 YEARS, THEY WERE STILL COMIN'.

THEY CAME WHEN IT RAINED.

THEY CAME WHEN IT SNOWED, THEY CAME.

AND DO YOU KNOW, WHEN I FIRST STARTED TEACHIN'

MY HOME BIBLE STUDY, I WOULD SIT IN SHORT SHORTS AND BLOW SMOKE

IN EVERYBODY'S FACE?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: CAN YOU GET A PICTURE OF THAT?

I MEAN, SMOKIN' ONE CIGARETTE RIGHT AFTER THE 'NOTHER.

THE ROOM WOULD GET SO FULL OF SMOKE, WE COULDN'T EVEN SEE

EACH OTHER.

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT?

AND I KNOW SOME OF YOU RELIGIOUS BRAINS COULDN'T GET THIS,

GOD HAD ANOINTED ME.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND HE DIDN'T ANOINT ME BECAUSE I SMOKED.

HE DIDN'T ANOINT ME BECAUSE I WASN'T DRESSED PROPERLY.

HE ANOINTED ME BECAUSE HE KNEW I LOVED HIM AND HE KNEW I WAS

IGNORANT.

AND HE GAVE ME GRACE IN MY IGNORANCE, AND HE KNEW

THAT I WOULD LET HIM WORK WITH ME AND CHANGE ME

AS TIME WENT BY.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: COME ON.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND AFTER A WHILE, DAVE TOLD ME, HE SAID,

"I THINK YOU MIGHT NEED TO WEAR SOMETHIN' ELSE

WHILE YOU'RE TEACHIN' THIS."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER.

I DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER.

AND I'D BEEN SMOKIN' SINCE I WAS 9 YEARS OLD, AND SO, YOU KNOW,

I DIDN'T WANNA QUIT.

THE CHURCH I WAS IN AT THE TIME, A LOT OF PEOPLE SMOKED,

SO THAT WASN'T ALL THAT RARE.

BUT THAT'S HOW I STARTED.

I TOOK A STEP OF FAITH AND I STARTED A HOME BIBLE STUDY.

AND IN SPITE OF ME, IT WORKED.

NOT BECAUSE OF ME, BUT IN SPITE OF ME, IT WORKED.

BECAUSE I'LL TELL YOU, GOD CAN ANOINT A DONKEY IF HE WANTS TO.

HE USED A DONKEY TO SPEAK TO A PROPHET, AND HE CAN USE

YOU, AND HE CAN USE ME.

BUT IT'S NOT GONNA BE BECAUSE WE'RE PERFECT.

IT'S BECAUSE HE'S PERFECT.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: COME ON, SOMEBODY GIVE GOD A SHOUT.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD.

I WANT YOU TO START SAYIN' ABOUT 25 TIMES A DAY,

"I HEAR FROM GOD."

AUDIENCE: I HEAR FROM GOD.

JOYCE: "I'M LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT,

AND I HEAR FROM GOD."

AUDIENCE: I'M LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT,

AND I HEAR FROM GOD.

JOYCE: DO YOU KNOW THAT I SAY THAT EVERY DAY?

AND I BELIEVE I'VE BEEN HEARING FROM GOD FOR A LOTTA YEARS,

BUT I DON'T THINK I HEAR PERFECTLY.

AND I DON'T WANT THE DEVIL STEALIN' MY FAITH IN THAT AREA,

BECAUSE I HAVE TO HEAR FROM GOD.

I HAVE TO BE LED BY THE SPRIT.

I HAVE TO HEAR THAT STILL, SMALL VOICE.

I HAVE TO HEAR THE WHISPERS OF GOD.

AND GOD WANTS EVERY ONE OF US TO HAVE THAT KINDA RELATIONSHIP

WITH HIM.

THIS IS NOT JUST FOR A SELECT FEW PEOPLE

WHO HAVE SOME KIND OF A RED PHONE LINE TO HEAVEN.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THE HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS ON THE INSIDE OF YOU, AND HE

WILL LEAD YOU BY PROMPTINGS, BY LEADINGS, BY GUIDINGS,

BY THE WORD OF GOD.

GOD WILL LEAD YOU.

BUT I DON'T THINK YOU EVER KNOW FOR SURE UNTIL YOU--

THEN I STARTED A SECOND HOME BIBLE STUDY

AT A FRIEND'S HOUSE.

PEOPLE CAME TO THAT ONE TOO.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THEN I WENT TO WORK AT A CHURCH IN ST. LOUIS.

IT WAS A REAL SMALL CHURCH, ABOUT 30 PEOPLE.

THEY ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO START A WEEKLY

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY, AND FIRST WEEK, 115 PEOPLE CAME.

AUDIENCE: WHOA.

JOYCE: OVER ANOTHER 5 YEARS, THAT GREW TO BE OVER 400 LADIES

EVERY WEEK, COMIN' TO MY BIBLE STUDY.

SO THEN GOD SAID, "I'M FINISHED WITH YOU HERE.

NOW I WANT YOU TO STEP OUT AND GO TO THE NORTH, SOUTH,

EAST, AND WEST."

"WELL, NOBODY KNOWS ME."

I MEAN, IT WAS JUST LIKE-- BUT OVER A YEAR'S PERIOD

OF TIME, GOD, THROUGH A LOT OF THINGS I DON'T HAVE TIME

TO GO INTO, HE LET ME KNOW I HAD TO EITHER DO IT

OR ELSE JUST BE MISERABLE THE REST OF MY LIFE.

SO, I FINALLY TOOK THE--I QUIT MY JOB, MY SECURE JOB.

I LEFT TO GO NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, AND WEST.

NOW, I LIVE IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI,

SO I WENT TO NORTH ST. LOUIS, EAST ST. LOUIS, WEST ST. LOUIS.

I DID, ONCE A MONTH, I HAD A MEETING IN NORTH ST. LOUIS,

ONCE A MONTH IN SOUTH, ONCE A WEEK IN WEST.

CHILDLIKE FAITH, "YOU SAID, 'GO NORTH, SOUTH, EAST,

AND WEST,' I DID IT."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND THEN, PRETTY SOON, I GOT WELL ENOUGH KNOWN THAT I

COULD GO TO CHICAGO AND KANSAS CITY

AND LITTLE PLACES HERE AND LITTLE PLACES THERE.

I'VE BEEN AT THIS NOW 35 YEARS, FOLKS.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: YOU DON'T GET YOUR DREAMS OVERNIGHT.

I'VE TAKEN MILLIONS OF LITTLE--

AND SOMETIMES I GO, "WHOOP, THAT DIDN'T WORK."

FIRST TIME I WENT ON TELEVISION, IT WASN'T GOD'S TIME.

I DECIDED, AND I THOUGHT I'D HAVE A TALK SHOW.

SO I TOOK THREE OR FOUR OF MY EMPLOYEES

AND WE RENTED A STUDIO, AND I WAS GONNA HAVE

A TALK SHOW.

BUT I WOULD ANSWER QUESTIONS AND--I WOULD ASK QUESTIONS,

THEN I'D ANSWER 'EM.

I NEVER LET 'EM TALK.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: NOW, IN 6 MONTHS, I GOT 1 PIECE OF MAIL.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: HONEY, LET ME TELL YA, IF GOD'S NOT IN IT,

THEN GOD'S NOT IN IT.

BUT IF GOD'S IN IT, GOD'S IN IT.

AND WHEN GOD ANOINTS SOMETHIN', NO DEVIL IN HELL AND NO PERSON

ON EARTH IS GONNA HOLD YOU BACK.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: YOU CAN HEAR FROM GOD AND BE LED BY THE SPIRIT,

BUT YOU CAN'T BE AFRAID TO MAKE A MISTAKE.

YOU SEE, IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, THAT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

YOU SAY, "WELL, I MADE A MISTAKE."

GOD DIDN'T STOP LOVIN' ME.

I MADE A MISTAKE.

I THINK THE ONLY WAY YOU EVER REALLY LEARN HOW TO BE LED

BY THE SPIRIT IS TO STEP OUT AND FIND OUT,

"WHOOP, WELL, THAT WASN'T RIGHT.

WON'T DO THAT AGAIN."

"WELL, OKAY, THAT'S WORKIN'.

OKAY, ALL RIGHT, YEAH, WHEW, THIS IS GOOD.

THIS IS COOL."

JUST ABOUT THE TIME YOU GET COMFORTABLE AND YOU THINK

EVERYTHING'S GOOD, GOD SAYS...

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND YOU THINK, "NOT AGAIN, I DON'T WANNA

GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN."

AND THEN YOU GOT THE HEART POUNDING, THE NERVOUS,

YOU JUST, YOU'RE SCARED.

YOU DON'T KNOW.

"WHAT IF IT'S NOT GOD?

WHAT IF IT'S NOT GOD?

WHAT IF IT'S NOT GOD?" AND THEN FINALLY, YOU'RE LIKE...

"OKAY, ALL RIGHT, WHEW, AHH, PRAISE THE LORD."

AND THAT'S HOW I GOT FROM WHERE I WAS IN MY BEDROOM WHEN I WAS

36 YEARS OLD TO WHERE I'M AT TODAY, ONE STEP AT A TIME.

MADE A LOT OF MISTAKES ALONG THE WAY, BUT I TELL YA,

IF YOU LOVE GOD, I DON'T CARE HOW MANY MISTAKES YOU MAKE

OR HOW FAR YOU MISS IT.

HE'LL ALWAYS FIND YOU AND BRING YOU BACK ON PATH.

COME ON, GIVE GOD A PRAISE THIS MORNING.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

GINGER: SO, TO KNOW IF WE'RE REALLY HEARING FROM GOD,

WE'VE GOT TO TAKE A STEP OF FAITH AND FIND OUT.

TAKES A LITTLE BIT OF COURAGE, SOME CONFIDENCE.

THERE COULD BE SOME FEAR INVOLVED.

SO, WE HAVE THE RESOURCES TO HELP YOU TO DO THIS.

FIRST OF ALL, WE HAVE THIS.

IT'S CALLED "LIVING COURAGEOUSLY."

IT'S WHAT WE ALL WANT AND NEED.

AND THIS IS TWO TEACHINGS FROM JOYCE, AND YOU GET IT

ON BOTH CD AND DVD, WHICH IS SO HELPFUL.

YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT IN THE CAR.

YOU CAN WATCH IT AT HOME.

YOU CAN SHARE IT WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE.

THEN YOU'LL ALSO GET THESE DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT

SCRIPTURE PROMISE CARDS.

SO YOU PULL THESE OUT, AND THERE'S SOMETHING

FOR EVERY OCCASION.

THIS ONE SAYS: "IF YOU WANT TO GET FREE,

YOU HAVE TO FIRST GET HONEST."

GREAT POINT, THEN IT HAS A SCRIPTURE THAT GOES ALONG

WITH IT.

JOHN 8:32 SAYS: "'THEN YOU WILL

KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.'"

THESE ARE GREAT LITTLE CARDS TO HAVE AROUND THE HOUSE,

AND YOU CAN GET ALL OF THESE WITH YOUR GIFT TODAY.

AND REMEMBER, THIS NOT ONLY HELPS YOU WITH EVERYTHING

THAT YOU'RE DEALING WITH IN YOUR LIFE BECAUSE IT IS WHAT

GOD'S WORD SAYS, BUT IT ALSO HELPS THE MINISTRY TO CONTINUE

REACHING OTHER PEOPLE.

SO, GO RIGHT NOW.

PICK THESE THINGS UP, AND GATHER THAT COURAGE THAT CHRIST HAS PUT

DEEP INSIDE OF YOU ALREADY.

ALL RIGHT, NOW, LET'S CHECK OUT "YOUR VOICE," SEE WHAT YOU

HAVE TO SAY.

GINGER: WE ASKED YOU TO SHARE HOW GOD IS HELPING YOU THROUGH

CIRCUMSTANCES YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND.

HERE ARE A FEW RESPONSES, AND YOU GUYS SHARED

SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS.

DENISE SAYS: "LOSING MY DAUGHTER 9 MONTHS AGO TO A SEIZURE

HAS BEEN VERY HARD ON ME.

BUT MY LOVING GOD HAS BEEN BY MY SIDE THE WHOLE TIME.

ANNA WAS SAVED 3 YEARS BEFORE HER DEATH.

I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THAT AND HE HAS USED BOTH OF US

TO BRING OTHERS TO HIM.

I PRAISE JESUS, HE KNOWS BEST."

CAROLYN FROM ILLINOIS SHARED THIS: "MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN

OUT OF WORK FOR 5 MONTHS.

WE'VE BOTH BEEN DISCOURAGED, FRUSTRATED, AND CONFUSED

THROUGHOUT THIS PROCESS, BUT GOD HAS PROVIDED FOR US.

WE STILL HAVE FOOD ON THE TABLE, A ROOF OVER OUR HEADS,

AND OUR HEALTH.

CONTINUING TO TRUST IN HIS FAITHFULNESS, HE WILL NOT

FAIL US OR ABANDON US."

AND I LOVE THE WAY CAROLYN AND DENISE ARE BEING HONEST.

THEY'RE SHARING ABOUT HOW HARD IT IS.

BUT THEY'RE ALSO LOOKING FOR THOSE THINGS

THAT HELP GET THEM THROUGH.

CAROLYN AND HER HUSBAND ARE FOCUSING ON WHAT THEY DO HAVE

RATHER THAN WHAT THEY DO NOT.

AND TODAY, WE WANNA HEAR YOUR VOICE.

LET US KNOW, WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST YEAR OR SO, THAT YOU

ARE MOST THANKFUL FOR?

LET'S GET OUR FOCUSES IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACE.

SHARE WITH US ON FACEBOOK, JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES'

FACEBOOK PAGE, INSTAGRAM.

YOU CAN USE TWITTER, #EA.

AND RIGHT NOW, IT'S TIME FOR OUR, "HELP ME," QUESTION.

NOW, THAT MEANS ONE OF THOSE QUESTIONS THAT YOU

JUST NEED AN ANSWER RIGHT NOW.

"HELP ME," IS KINDA ALL YOU CAN GET OUT.

AND TODAY'S QUESTION IS ABOUT LOVING THAT PERSON

YOU CAN NEVER GET AWAY FROM.

GINGER: JOYCE, WE HAVE A QUESTION TODAY FROM SHAY,

AND SHE'S ASKING SOMETHING THAT I'M SURE MANY PEOPLE

AT HOME ARE ASKING AS WELL: "HOW DO I LEARN TO LOVE

WHO I AM?" JOYCE: WELL, I THINK

THAT THE FIRST THING WE NEED TO DO IS STOP COMPARING

OURSELVES WITH OTHER PEOPLE.

GINGER: IT'S A BIG ONE.

JOYCE: THAT'S JUST SUCH A NO-NO.

YOU KNOW, GOD HAS CREATED US ALL INDIVIDUALLY AND UNIQUELY.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS READ PSALM 139 AND YOU SEE THAT HE

HAS CREATED EACH ONE OF US WITH HIS OWN HAND, UNIQUELY,

IN OUR MOTHER'S WOMB.

WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT GIFTS.

WE HAVE DIFFERENT ABILITIES.

WE LOOK DIFFERENT.

WE'RE TALL, WE'RE SHORT, WE'RE THIS AND THAT

AND SOMETHIN' ELSE.

AND GOD IS NEVER GOING TO HELP YOU BE SOMEBODY ELSE.

I ALWAYS TELL EVERYBODY, "BE YOURSELF 'CAUSE EVERYBODY ELSE

IS ALREADY TAKEN."

AND ALSO, I THINK, JUST TO REALIZE, TO REALLY BE

AGAINST YOURSELF, I THINK--AND I KNOW THAT PEOPLE DON'T,

THEY'RE NOT MEANING TO DO THIS, BUT IT'S ALMOST KINDA LIKE

AN AFFRONT TO THE LORD WHO CREATED US.

BECAUSE IF HE CREATED US WITH HIS OWN HAND, AND HE'S

GIVEN US THE GIFTS WE HAVE, AND HE'S ARRANGED US IN THE WAY

THAT WE'RE ARRANGED--AND I'M NOT TALKIN' ABOUT OUR FAULTS.

I'M NOT TALKIN' ABOUT THE THINGS THAT WE NEED TO LET HIM CHANGE,

BUT JUST THE BASIC WHO YOU ARE.

AND I GET THAT.

I MEAN, FOR A LONG TIME, I JUST DID NOT LIKE

MY PERSONALITY.

YOU KNOW, I WANTED TO BE SWEET AND MEEK, AND, YOU KNOW,

LIKE OTHER SWEET WOMEN.

AND I MEAN, I TRIED TO DO THAT, AND IT WAS JUST RIDICULOUS.

YOU KNOW, YOU HAVE TO BE WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE GOD HAS CREATED YOU

FOR A SPECIAL PURPOSE, AND YOU CAN FILL A SPOT THAT SOMEBODY

ELSE CAN'T FILL THE WAY YOU CAN FILL THAT.

AND SO, I JUST REALLY WANNA ENCOURAGE THE PERSON

WHO ASKED THE QUESTION.

AND TO BE HONEST, THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL,

WORLDWIDE PROBLEM.

I REALLY BELIEVE THAT PROBABLY ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS

THAT PEOPLE HAVE, AND I'M GONNA STRETCH IT AND SAY EVEN PEOPLE

WHO ARE CHRISTIANS WHO HAVE RECEIVED CHRIST,

I THINK THE BIGGEST PROBLEM THAT PEOPLE HAVE IS LEARNING

HOW TO LOVE AND ACCEPT THEMSELVES.

AND WE ALMOST SEE THAT AS A SELFISH THING,

BUT IT'S NOT.

BECAUSE THAT'S REALLY WHAT IT MEANS TO RECEIVE GOD'S LOVE.

IF I RECEIVE HIS LOVE FOR ME, THEN HOW CAN I CONTINUE TO BE

AGAINST MYSELF?

SATAN IS THE ONLY ONE THAT'S AGAINST US, AND GOD IS FOR US,

AND WE NEED TO GET ON GOD'S SIDE.

GINGER: SO, ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR THINGS THAT YOU

WOULD DO ON A REGULAR BASIS WHEN YOU WERE GOING THROUGH

THAT PROCESS YOURSELF, TO GAIN THAT LOVE THAT GOD WOULD HAVE

FOR YOU?

JOYCE: YEAH, I LEARNED TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME

CONFESSING THE WORD OF GOD.

AND WHEN I SAY, "A LOT OF TIME," I DON'T MEAN, LIKE, HOURS

EVERY DAY.

BUT EVEN THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS ON MY TREADMILL,

I WAS CONFESSING SCRIPTURES, I CONFESS SCRIPTURES OUT LOUD.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I SAID ON A REGULAR BASIS

EVERY DAY, STILL SAY IT EVERY DAY, "I AM

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST."

AND TO BE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

IN CHRIST MEANS THAT GOD SEES YOU AND VIEWS YOU AS RIGHT,

NOT WRONG.

AND WE FOCUS WAY TOO MUCH ON, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?" INSTEAD OF FOCUSING

ON THE STRENGTHS AND THE GIFTS AND THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT YOU.

AND THEN ANOTHER THING THAT I SAID ALL THE TIME IS,

"GOD LOVES ME.

GOD LOVES ME."

I REMEMBER EVEN GOIN' TO THE MIRROR AND LOOKIN'

AT MYSELF AND POINTING AT WHAT I SAW IN THE MIRROR,

"GOD LOVES YOU."

AND SO, I THINK MEDITATING ON THE SCRIPTURE.

AND THEN, EVEN FOR ME, I'VE LEARNED TO REALLY WATCH

FOR GOD'S LOVE IN MY LIFE.

IT'S AMAZING ALL THE LITTLE THINGS THAT GOD DOES FOR US

THAT'S JUST KINDA LIKE A LITTLE WINK FROM HIM, HIM DOIN'

SOMETHIN' FOR YOU THAT ONLY GOD COULD DO.

BUT IT'S JUST, IT'S GOOD FOR ALL OF US TO JUST KNOW

THAT HE'S THERE AND HE KNOWS THE DESIRES OF OUR HEART.

AND I THINK THAT THE MORE YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH GOD LOVES YOU,

THE MORE YOU'RE ABLE TO LOVE AND ACCEPT YOURSELF.

AND IT IS A JOURNEY SOMETIMES.

TO BE HONEST, IT WASN'T JUST SOMETHIN' I READ

TWO SCRIPTURES AND GOT OVER.

I MEAN, I HAD TO STICK WITH THIS AND STAY IN THE WORD

FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.

LET'S PUT LIKE THIS.

YOU CAN KNOW SOMETHING IS TRUE A LONG TIME BEFORE YOU START

TO FEEL THE BENEFITS OF THAT TRUTH.

GINGER: THAT IS SO TRUE.

JOYCE: AND SO, I KNEW IT WAS TRUE BECAUSE I REALLY BELIEVED

THE WORD, BUT IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO STOP FEELING BAD

ABOUT MYSELF.

BUT IT WILL COME, BUT I'M NOT GONNA FIGHT WITH MYSELF ABOUT IT

ALL THE TIME EITHER.

GINGER: WELL, LEARNING TO LOVE YOURSELF IS DEFINITELY

A PROCESS.

SOME DAYS I DO BETTER THAN OTHERS, BUT THE AMAZING

THING IS GOD NEVER GIVES UP ON ME.

HE ALWAYS LOVES ME.

AND YOU CAN DO IT.

DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.

COMING UP, JOYCE IS GOING TO EXPLAIN WHY WE SHOULD BLESS

OUR ENEMIES.

BUT FIRST, IF YOU HAVE

A QUESTION THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ANSWERED RIGHT HERE

ON "EVERYDAY ANSWERS," DON'T HESITATE TO ASK IT.

USE TWITTER, USE THE #ASKJOYCE.

YOU CAN ALSO GO TO "EVERYDAY ANSWERS" WEB PAGE

AND ASK IT RIGHT THERE.

IT'S VERY EASY TO DO.

HERE IS A LOOK AT WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT WEEK

ON "EVERYDAY ANSWERS": JOYCE: THE WORD OF GOD

WILL GIVE US THE STRENGTH THAT WE NEED TO LET GO OF THINGS

THAT GOD WANTS US TO LET GO OF, AND IT WILL GIVE US THE STRENGTH

TO DO THE THINGS THAT GOD WANTS US TO DO.

GINGER: OUR FINAL QUESTION TODAY IS PROBABLY

THE MOST CHALLENGING, BUT REALLY UNDERSTANDING WHY WE

SHOULD BLESS OUR ENEMIES WILL DEFINITELY CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

JOYCE: BE A PERSON THAT IS DETERMINED TO DO

WHAT GOD ASKS YOU TO DO.

AND ALWAYS UNDERSTAND THAT GOD WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO DO

SOMETHING IF HE DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE POWER AND THE ABILITY

TO DO IT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: WHERE GOD GUIDES, HE ALWAYS PROVIDES.

HIS GRACE IS ALWAYS SUFFICIENT.

AND SO, "DO GOOD," MEANS, "TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY,

GET UP EVERY DAY AND DO WHAT I BELIEVE

THAT WOULD PLEASE GOD."

WE NEED TO LIVE TO PLEASE GOD.

AND THEN, NUMBER TWO, I BELIEVE THAT, "DO GOOD," MEANS

JUST WHAT IT SAYS: "DO AS MUCH GOOD AS YOU CAN

EVERYWHERE THAT YOU CAN TO EVERYBODY THAT YOU CAN

AS LONG AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN."

BECAUSE THERE'S POWER IN JUST BEING GOOD TO PEOPLE.

ROMANS 12:21 SAYS: "WE OVERCOME EVIL WITH GOOD."

AND I PERSONALLY THINK THAT THAT'S

ONE OF THE MOST HIDDEN SECRETS

OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

ANY EVIL THAT'S BEEN DONE TO YOU, THE WAY TO OVERCOME IT

IS TO GO OUT AND DO SOMETHIN' GOOD FOR SOMEBODY ELSE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND IT ESPECIALLY GETS POWERFUL IF YOU DO

SOMETHIN' GOOD FOR THE PERSON WHO MISTREATED YOU.

NOW, THAT'S A WHOLE 'NOTHER LEVEL.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: IN JOHN 11, VERSES 32 THROUGH 41,

WHEN JESUS WAS GONNA RAISE LAZARUS FROM THE DEAD,

SUCH INTERESTING VERSES.

I MEAN, FIRST OF ALL, IT SAYS THAT HE WAITED LONG ENOUGH

FOR LAZARUS TO DIE.

AND THEN HE WAITED TILL HE WAS STINKIN'.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: COME ON, YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT.

AND THEN HE SHOWS UP.

WOW, "YOU CAN'T DO NOTHIN' NOW.

HE'S DEAD AND HE STINKS."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: NOW, JESUS KNOWS HE'S GETTING READY TO RAISE HIM

FROM THE DEAD.

NOW, YOU--IT DON'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.

BUT HE SAYS TO THE PEOPLE THAT HE WANTED TO PARTICIPATE,

"YOU ROLL AWAY THE STONE."

NOW, IF HE'S GONNA RAISE HIM FROM THE DEAD, WHY DIDN'T HE

JUST BLOW THE STONE OUT OF THE HOLE?

I MEAN, LET'S MAKE A REAL BIG DISPLAY, POW.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND CAN I TELL YA SOMETHIN' TONIGHT?

SOME OF YOU ARE WAITING FOR YOUR MIRACLE, BUT YOU'RE NOT

ROLLING AWAY THE STONES.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: MAYBE IT'S A STONE OF BITTERNESS.

MAYBE IT'S A STONE OF STRIFE IN YOUR HOME ALL THE TIME.

MAYBE IT'S A STONE OF REBELLION TOWARD AUTHORITY.

MAYBE IT'S A STONE OF A JUDGMENTAL, CRITICAL

ATTITUDE TOWARD PEOPLE THAT DON'T AGREE WITH YOU.

MAYBE IT'S A STONE OF JEALOUSY TOWARD A SISTER YOU HAD

THAT WAS SKINNIER THAN YOU, SMARTER THAN YOU.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AND, YOU KNOW, SOME PEOPLE CARRY THOSE STONES

ALL THROUGH THEIR LIFE.

ROLL AWAY THE STONES AND JESUS WILL RAISE THE DEAD.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AMEN?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: YOU SEE, GOD IS SOVEREIGN AND HE CAN DO ANYTHING

HE WANTS TO, BUT THE THING THAT'S SO AMAZING IS HE

HAS DECIDED IN HIS SOVEREIGNTY THAT HE WANTS TO BE PARTNERS

WITH US, THAT HE WANTS TO NOT JUST GO DO EVERYTHING

HIMSELF, BUT HE WANTS TO DO THINGS THROUGH US.

AND NOT ONLY THAT, HE'S TAKEN A VERY BOLD STEP AND GIVEN MAN

A FREE WILL.

GOD WANTS US TO USE OUR FREE WILL TO CHOOSE

HIS WILL.

THAT'S THE HIGH CALLING ON OUR LIFE.

HE DIDN'T WANT ROBOTS.

HE DIDN'T WANT PUPPETS, SO HE GAVE US FREE WILL.

AND IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO GO TO HELL, GOD WILL PROTECT

THEIR RIGHT TO DO THAT.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I MEAN, IT'S TRUE.

AND I'M SURE SOME OF YOU ARE FINDING OUT, IF SOMEBODY

JUST DOES NOT WANT TO LOVE GOD, YOU ARE NOT GONNA MAKE THEM

LOVE GOD.

IT'S A DECISION THAT THEY GET TO MAKE, BUT THEY ALSO GET TO BE

RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DECISIONS THAT THEY MAKE.

SO, THIS THING ABOUT FREE WILL, IT'S REALLY EXCITING ON ONE END,

BUT, BOY, THERE'S SUCH A RESPONSIBILITY TO IT

BECAUSE IF I HAVE FREE WILL AND I CAN MAKE MY OWN CHOICES,

THEN I REALLY CAN'T BLAME GOD OR ANYBODY ELSE FOR THE MESSES.

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: AND, BOY, DO WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THAT, BLAME,

BLAME, BLAME, BLAME, BLAME.

AND NOW, THERE IS THIS AREA WHERE, WHEN WICKED PEOPLE

ARE MAKING WRONG CHOICES, IF THEY HAPPEN TO BE IN SOME

KIND OF AUTHORITY OVER YOU, THEN SOMETIMES YOU GET

IN THE BACKLASH OF THEIR DECISIONS

AND YOU GET HURT.

AND WE DON'T ALWAYS UNDERSTAND WHY GOD DOESN'T DO SOMETHING

ABOUT THAT.

BUT WHAT GOD WANTS US TO DO IS TO TRUST HIM, AND THEN, AS SOON

AS WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN CHOICES, START MAKING CHOICES

ACCORDING TO HIS WORD.

AND THEN, IT DOESN'T TAKE VERY LONG AT ALL, AND YOU BEGIN

TO OVERTURN ALL THE EFFECTS OF ANY OF THE BAD THINGS

THAT HAPPENED.

BUT WHAT SATAN WANTS IS FOR EVIL PEOPLE TO DO EVIL THINGS,

AND THEN EVEN GOOD PEOPLE OR WELL-MEANING PEOPLE GET HURT

BY THAT, AND THEN HE WANTS THEM TO GET BITTER AND SPEND

THEIR LIFE FULL OF HATRED, WANTING TO GET REVENGE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: BUT WE'RE SMARTER THAN THAT, AREN'T WE?

I SAID, "WE'RE SMARTER THAN THAT, AREN'T WE?"

[AUDIENCE CHEERING]

JOYCE: THE DUMBEST THING THAT WE CAN DO IS TRY TO DEAL

WITH OUR OWN ENEMIES.

AND I CAN SAY THAT NOW AFTER 40 YEARS OF TEACHING

THE WORD, BUT I WASTED A LOT OF MY TIME BEIN' MAD

AT PEOPLE WHO HURT ME, AND IT JUST WAS

REALLY A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.

AND AS LONG AS WE ARE TRYING TO DEFEND OURSELVES OR GET

REVENGE, OR GET PEOPLE BACK, NOW, LISTEN TO WHAT I'M GONNA

SAY, GOD CANNOT HELP US.

SHOULD I SAY IT AGAIN?

AUDIENCE: YEAH.

JOYCE: AS LONG AS WE ARE HATING PEOPLE, AGAINST PEOPLE,

MAD AT EVERYBODY, BITTER BECAUSE OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED

TO US, BLAMING LIFE, BLAMING GOD--EVEN BLAMING THE DEVIL

DOESN'T REALLY WORK BECAUSE IF WE JUST SIT AROUND

AND BLAME AND WE DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY,

THEN THE PROBLEM NEVER GETS FIXED.

AND SO, YOU CAN SPEND YOUR LIFE HATING, BEING BITTER, TRYING

TO GET REVENGE, BUT WHILE YOU'RE DOING THAT, GOD CANNOT HELP YOU.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THANK YOU, BROTHER, FOR GETTIN' STARTED.

I APPRECIATE THAT.

'CAUSE I DIDN'T WANNA HAVE TO SAY IT AGAIN,

AND I WOULD HAVE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU SAY, "WELL, I'M TRUSTING GOD."

BUT ARE YOU DOING GOOD?

ARE YOU FORGIVING?

ARE YOU PRAYING FOR YOUR ENEMIES?

IN THE MIDST OF YOUR PAIN, ARE YOU BEING A BLESSING

TO SOMEBODY ELSE?

COME ON.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: "WELL, I'M TRUSTING GOD."

BUT SEE, THAT'S NOT ENOUGH.

I COULD'VE WALKED OUT HERE TONIGHT AND SAID,

"HOW MANY OF YOU ARE TRUSTING GOD TONIGHT?"

THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ONE HAND

THAT WOULDN'T HAVE GONE UP.

AND THEN, IF I WOULD HAVE SAID, "HOW MANY OF YOU ARE DOING

WHAT GOD HAS TOLD YOU TO DO?"

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

GINGER: WELL, WE'VE TALKED ABOUT A LOT TODAY, BUT IT'S BEEN

SUCH GOOD STUFF.
