Youtube daily google Sep 30 2017

Hey guys, so

We're just days away from the October 4 reveal of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, yet hints of

a completely new phone, dubbed the Ultra pixel have emerged.

YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss received images and video from an anonymous, unverified source

who claimed to have seen Google's upcoming phones.

The shots and footage show what appears to be presentation slides or marketing material

on a computer screen, referring to a phone called the Ultra pixel.

This isn't a name we've come across before in relation to the Pixel 2, so I'm skeptical.

And even if the images are authentic the name could be referring to the camera, given that

Google is strongly rumored to be working with HTC on the phones, and HTC makes UltraPixel

cameras.

The actual images of the phone look somewhat like the leaked shots of the Pixel 2 XL we've

seen, complete with minimal bezels around the screen, so there's not much new there,

and not much to suggest this is anything other than a Pixel 2 XL.

But there are some interesting hints at ways you might interact with the phone.

One of the slides says the future of Android is fluid, which could mean a focus on gesture

controls rather than buttons.

That could make sense if Google wants to maximize the screen space, but it's not something we've

heard before

There's also a mention of a new type of fingerprint scanner, which the YouTuber reckons might

mean an under-display one, which the likes of Apple and Samsung have supposedly been

working on and so far failed to deliver.

If true that could be a big win for the Pixel 2, but it's more likely referring to an improved

version of the standard fingerprint scanner, especially as leaked shots of the Pixel 2

and Pixel 2 XL show a scanner on the back.

In short, while there are multiple ways to interpret this information the most likely

is that this is simply the Pixel 2 XL, and with nothing much new shown, other than hints

of gesture controls.

It's also very likely that this is fake though.

A reputable leaker Evan Blass tweeted this saying that the Ultra Pixel doesn't even exist,

quoting someone who knows.

In any case, we'll know the truth soon.

So that said, What do you think?

Is ultra Pixel real or fake?

let me know in the comments and I'll see you guys in the next one...peace out.

GusMail (Google) Users Only - Sync Your Gustavus Calendar to Starfish - Duration: 2:38.

In this video tutorial, I'm going to show you how to Sync your Google Calendar to

starfish.

Now, we at Gustavus utilize the Google Calendar here so if you'd like

all of your appointments to move over and sync to starfish,

this is the process to do this.

So, if I click on appointments in the upper left

hand corner, you will see that I don't have anything in my calendar.

I would

like it to pull in my Google Calendar so I can see all of my appointments and

So, to set this up I want

to go ahead and click on my name in the upper right hand corner.

From there, I

want to go ahead and click on 'email notifications' on the top tab.

Now,

underneath appointment notifications, I want to go ahead and check the option

'read busy times from my external Google Calendar'.

I want to go ahead and check

that and now what I want to do is, I want to open up another window within the

browser and I want to go to type in the calendar.google.com again,

calendar.google.com and go ahead and press enter.

If I'm already logged in to my Google

Calendar, it will take me instantly to my Google Calendar.

If not, I will have to

login using my Gustavus credentials.

Once I'm here and I want to be able to

move my calendar to sync automatically to starfish,

I go ahead and hover over my name on my calendar and I want to click on the

little drop down arrow and choose 'calendar settings'.

From here, I want to

make sure that I'm on the 'calendar details' tab and towards the bottom, I

want to go to where it says 'private address' and I'm going to go ahead and

click the green iCal button.

This will come up with information about my

private address.

What I want to do is I want to go ahead and grab this URL and I

want to copy it.

So for a PC user it would be ctrl+C.

For a Mac user it would

be command + C to copy.

I want to go back to starfish and right here where it says

'paste your Google Calendar private link', I'm going to click there and I'm going

to paste this in.

For a PC user it would be ctrl+v as in velcro.

For a Mac, it would

be command+v as in velcro.

So paste that in

and I'm going to go ahead and click on submit in the upper right hand corner.

It tells me that my data has been saved, I'm going to click on ok.

At this point, if I

go back to appointments, I will now be able to see the same appointments that

are on my personal calendar.

So if I go ahead and fast-forward to different

months I'll be able to see what's on my calendar in the future or even in the

past.

How to Create Google Alerts to Find Curated Social Media Content - Duration: 5:32.

~~Vireo Warbling~~ One of the ways I find social media content

for my social media account or for my client's social media accounts is using Google Alerts.

It's a great way to get the latest news on any topic and it's great because I get a list

of content directly to my inbox everyday, and I don't have to think about " Ohh, which

topics have I had luck with, with search terms in the past".

I get a full list of the best content each day.

Let me show you how I do it for my client: Impact Hub.

One source of relevent information to our location, Impact Hub Boulder, is to do a general

search for "Impact Hub."

'Cause there are many locations around the country and they're very supportive of one

another.

So let's do a search for "Impact Hub."

Ok If I click on "News" I can see the latest articles, of about 500,000 that google can

find.

Now, you can see that there's a wide range of article dates, most of these are in September,

but for other search terms you might find things that are as out dated as 2 years ago.

If I scroll all the way to the bottom I can see "Create Alert."

I don't like to just use the default settings, so if I click on "Show Options" here, I can

make this much more relevent.

So I can select how often I want it...

If you're doing a check up on your company, for example if I had the search term Vireo

Media I'll want to know about any news as soon as it goes out.

So I can select "As it happens".

If it's something less relevent then I can select either at most once a day, or I can

select at most once a week.

I get a full list of all my curated content daily so I'm going to go ahead and click at

most once a day.

Next I open up the sources.

For Impact Hub I know that there are a lot of bloggers that do a really nice job writing

articles about Impact Hub, so I'm not just going to select news, I'm also going to select

Blogs.

I could also select other content sources, such as videos, books, discussions, or finances.

For whatever term you're doing a search on, just think of where people are likely to add

sources.

you can also select language.

I speak enlgish, so I'm going to stick with english.

And region, Impact Hub is international so I know I'm going to get great sources from

all over the world.

But for example, if I had a source that was only relevent to a certain region, for example,

I do social media markting for a medical company and medical regulations are very different

for differnt countries.

So I would want to limit my search to just the United States.

I can also select howmany articles I get.

For example, if I know this is something that only gets news every once in a while, I might

select all results, but I've found that google does a pretty good job filtering the results

that are most relevent to me, so I generally select "Only the best".

And then I can select how to deliver it to.

Now that I have my search terms and all my settings setup, I'm going to go ahead and

create the alert.

You can see here, now I have two alerts.

I have Impact Hub and Vireo Media.

I have to edit my search terms quite frequently, for example I might find that "Impact Hub"

is to broad, so I might need to take a look at articles that just are "Impact Hub + Startup".

Sometimes you'll find that a search term is too broad, and you wont get good enough information.

For Example I may find that in the future, Impact Hub is too broad of a term I 'll do

much better if I search instead for "Impact Hub Social Venture".

I generally start with a broad term, and narrow it down in the future, or if I have already

worked with a client in that field I'll put in a list of very specific terms that I know

have created good content in the past.

I hope this saves you a ton of time and energy on your social media marketing efforts.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me!
