Youtube daily car Sep 29 2017

My name is Han Yeguang.

I was born in the 1980s.

I'm a man fond of classical cars.

2013,

In Dalian,

I started my business on classical cars.

I built a repair center for classical cars.

Because this is what I am interested in.

My hobby is fixing these classical cars.

Let's have a look at this car!

The one just came here

is a Rolls-Royce 20/25 which was made in 1923.

The one being fixed right now

is Rolls-Royce 20/25 which was made in 1932.

The great depression of London before the World War II

helped Rolls-Royce go through the entire difficult times.

The total output was about three thousand.

And more than 70% of the Rolls-Royce 20/25

are still on the road.

Generally, there are a few steps to fix a classical car.

First of all, its appearance, inner mechanical parts

interior decorations and the chassis frame should be tested.

Then we will make a repair plan according to each parts' conditions.

Next we separate all the parts of the car

just like peeling off an onion's layers.

You will see how each layer looks like.

Only if you know the car, then it is possible to judge the value of this classical car.

Now we have completely separated the body and shell

from its chassis and engine.

We made a special chassis frame for this car shell.

This car owns full aluminum body and wooden frame.

My requirement of this car is bare unpainted aluminum plate.

Wang Dong, Ma Te, check it!

Make sure there is no welds and blemishes on the shell.

Eventually, the entire appearance is smooth.

Some places are rotten now.

We are going to make it up.

As for welding,

we need to do seamless welding.

Finally, we should polish this extra welding mark.

The final effect is that you won't see any welding marks.

A little flaw will all be exposed.

All parts of the aluminum body are handmade

Knock it out with a hammer

more than thousand times.

It needs at least six months.

It is not just time consuming,

but also a test of your skills.

And only in the classical cars we can see these cases.

The cars that we've repaired in these years are,

nearly,

from the beginning of the last century to the 1990s,

there are totaling 115 classic cars

According to each car's circumstances,

the repair time we spend on will be different.

The Maserati formula racing car in Shanghai Auto Museum.

It took us more than a year and two months to repair it.

It is completely different from fixing a second-hand car or an accident car.

We need to respect its actual situations.

It is not turning it to a completely new car.

Like this wooden steering wheel,

we didn't do any repairs

to retain its vicissitudes more than half a century.

Many classical cars may have been parked for years or decades.

And some may haven't been driven for more than half a century.

To find components is really difficult.

We usually find parts and components abroad.

If we really can not find some parts,

we will find some old parts

and repair them.

Finally, they will perform the exactly same functions just like the new components.

This screw is loose.

Let's go out and try it first.

Try it first, there is no big problem.

We decide to take part in several Classic Rally events in September with this car.

So we are going to test it over and over again.

Make sure it can finish the race successfully.

It gets worse.

Adjust the engine.

Not perfect!

Try another lap!

Moving is the human pursuit for freedom.

That is why we organize the Classic Rally.

The ultimate goal of repairing a classical car is not just to fix it up,

to put it there for us as exhibition

but more importantly to give it a new life,

and to find its soul.

The combination of man and car is probably a feeling like this.

Chase the classics, restart on the road.

Five Ways Racing Changed Your Car | Donut Media - Duration: 3:56.

You might not realize it, but your car borrows a ton of technology from the world of motorsports.

Everything from your brakes, transmission, suspension and especially your engine were

all tested and proven on the race track.

There are too many to list in one video, but here are a few ways your car can trace it's

lineage to the winner's circle.

Going fast is great, but eventually you need to slow down.

There isn't a much safer way of doing that than a set of disc brakes.

The first successful use of disc brakes on the track was in 1953; when Jaguar put some

rotors on their C-Type race car for the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Early drum brake systems couldn't provide the performance or reliability that Disc brakes

could offer; the improved cooling meant that disc brakes would be more effective for longer

than other competitors.

Jaguar ended up winning that year, and the rest is history.

Anti-lock Brakes were also proven at the racetrack.

The Ferguson P99 was a Formula 1 car piloted by the legendary Sterling Moss in 1961, it

featured a fully mechanical ABS system as well as four wheel drive.

The P99 remains the only four wheel drive F1 car to ever win a race,

The man behind the prancing horse, Enzo Ferrari, once said that "Aerodynamics are for people

who can't build engines".

Well, he was wrong.

Aerodynamics is one of the most important aspects of race car design, but it also central

to building an efficient daily driver.

Early land speed racers figured out that a sleeker car didn't have to work as hard

to cut through the air, letting them go faster.

While most road cars aren't designed with top speed in mind, every car benefits from

being more aerodynamic.

Less air resistance means better fuel economy.

The suspension in a race car is much different than that in your daily driver.

Your car is most likely set up to deal with the challenges of everyday driving like uneven

road surfaces and potholes.

Race cars on the other hand, mostly drive on buttery smooth tracks.

While road cars are focused on passenger comfort, race cars are focused on speed alone, comfort

be damned.

It seems like there isn't anything you can buy that isn't made with Carbon Fiber.

Headphones, Skateboards, fidget spinners, luxury yachts, all utilizing this mysterious

material with seemingly endless uses.

But it wasn't always like this.

McLaren unveiled their MP4/1 Formula 1 car in 1981.

What made it special was the monocoque chassis made with Carbon Fiber.

Earlier grand prix cars were constructed from aluminum and steel.

And while these materials did the job, they could not compare to the rigidity and strength

of carbon fiber.

Since then Carbon Fiber has become ubiquitous in Formula 1 and other racing series, and

has made it's way to the consumer.

Mainstream cars like the BMW 7 series and even the i3 utilize Carbon fiber, and the

material is finding its way into more affordable cars every year.

Your engine might be the biggest recipient of technology developed in racing.

Back in 1954, Mercedes Benz outfitted their W196 Formula 1 car with a fuel injection system

similar to that used in World war two aircraft engines.

However, this technology was a too advanced and unreliable for the consumer market of

the time, so fuel injection didn't become a mainstream technology until the early 1980s.

Another advancement perfected by racing is forced induction systems like turbochargers

and superchargers.

Both of these devices push more air into the engine, creating more power, which is awesome.

The race teams of Formula 1's first turbo era in the 80s were able to get up to 1500

horsepower from turbocharged one point five liter engines.

Turbochargers were eventually outlawed, but have since returned to the sport in 2014.

Teams now use turbocharged V6s, and nearly every car brand today offers a turbocharged

model in their lineup.

While your car might not ever see the racetrack, innovations that were made there live on wherever

you drive.

How To Stop Car Fires - Duration: 1:14.

Rev up your engines! today I'm going to show you some interesting modern

technology, that can automatically put fires out in your car, now many boats and

airplanes already have automatic fire extinguishing systems, you can put one on

your car now, the unit itself has a magnetic base, so it'll stick right on

the metal of your car, and connected to it is this thermal wire, you wrap it

around parts that might get on fire, like the fuel line, you wrap it around the

fuel line, and you can wrap it around electrical wiring that might start on fire,

and if a fire starts under the hood, the thermal wire will pick it up, and it will

set off the extinguishers, now I'm not going to start my car on fire, but I'm using

my kids old red wagon, it's metal, to show you how it works, so just heat up the

wire,

and since all that will occur under the hood of your car, the fumes and the

chemicals will put out the fire, so if you don't want to worry about fires in

your car, you might try one of these out, more quick fixes on the Scotty Kilmer
