US B-52 nuclear bombers 'on 24-hour ALERT' as North Korea vows to annihilate Trump

THE US Air Force has ordered its nuclear bombers to be on 24-hour alert status as tensions

with North Korea reach an all-time high.

Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un have put the globe on the edge of World War 3 after numerous

nuclear missile threats.

Trump warned the Hermit Kingdom's hierarchy that it faced destruction if it did not abandon

its nuclear weapons programme.

But the tubby tyrant has vowed to continue developing missiles, until one has the range

to hit New York.

In response, Trump has placed his B-52 bomber planes on 24-hour alert status, a move not

seen since the Cold War ended in 1991.

Air Force chief of staff General David Goldfein said: "This is yet one more step in ensuring

that we're prepared.

"I look at it more as not planning for any specific event, but more for the reality of

the global situation we find ourselves in and how we ensure we're prepared going forward."

"We've got other players out there who have nuclear capability.

It's never been more important to make sure that we get this mission right."

The B-52s were placed on alert for decades when the United States was faced with the

dangers of the Soviet Union.

The measure comes after two nuclear B1-B bombers were flown over South Korea, to send a message

to the despot nation.

THIS IS US' STARS REPORTEDLY WANT A HUGE RAISE AS SEASON 2 RATINGS CONTINUE TO RISE

NBC's hit drama This Is Us continues to rise in the ratings, and the stars of the

ensemble show have decided that they should earn more per episode.

Will the cast have their demands met so they can start making Friends and Modern Family

level money?

Since the show's Season 2 premiere brought in 12 million viewers, the cast has some bargaining

power when it comes to their salaries.

According to Straight Shuter, the actors got together after the show's successful season

two start and demanded more money from the network.

The source claims, "They are one of the highest-rated shows on TV, and now they should

be making some of the highest money."

Right now, stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia are making $80,000 per episode, while Sterling

K. Brown brings home $75,000 and Justin Hartley and Chrissy Metz earn $40,000.

While this may seem like a huge payday, it is nothing compared to the stars of Friends

and Modern Family during their time at the top, with each cast member on those hit shows

reportedly making $1 million per episode.

Variety reported that the most recent episode of This Is Us averaged a 2.9 rating in the

coveted adults 18-49 demo, with 10.5 million viewers.

These numbers easily made it the number one program of the night in that category, with

The Voice coming in second with a 2.1 rating.

The only show to get more viewers for the night was NCIS on CBS, who scored 12.4 million

pairs of eyeballs.

NBC won the night in the important advertising demographic, but CBS had more total viewers.

ABC came in third, while FOX and the CW brought up the rear.

The biggest news for the show's ratings is that it retained 100 percent of the previous

week's viewers and remained even.

The show continues to surprise fans each week, with the most recent episode featuring a shocking

twist that no one saw coming.

The Wrap is reporting that fans took to social media in droves to voice their reactions to

the reveal that Kate Pearson is six weeks pregnant.

One fan tweeted that if Kate names her baby Jack, they will have to call in sick to work

the next day.

Another called the shocking pregnancy announcement a huge "mic drop" moment.

Evil IRAQI Shiite cleric '' Soccer came to us from the infidel WEST '' - English subtitles - Duration: 3:50.

and one day , perhaps more than one year ago one of the young Muslim and pious believers asking me about a legal islamic issue regarding sports stadium

and he said to me '' I am a soccer player and that soccer is in my blood

and I responded to him by saying although it's not appropriate in IRAQI slang '' you should cut out that crap sweetheart ! ''

and the main and principle juristic reason behind that in short , is these games (e.g. soccer ) are not productive games ; and they are not to be considered as trade ,

production and legal gain plus , they don't produce any food , drink , clothing , construction , science , moral symbiosis or social symbiosis

rather , it's just a matter of having fun and killing time and no more than that

and spending money on that is forbidden and interdicted

and it's as if someone gives his money to a snake charmer or a magician and other unproductive things

and Muslim scholars have issued decrees to forbid paying for such things

had each gain been legal , the usury would have been permissible ( in Islam )

although , it's sanctioned in the Quran that it's forbidden

and in the same thing , selling wine would have been permissible as well

while , it's sanctioned in the Quran and Sunnah and it's one of the religious exigencies of Islam to make it forbidden and it's cost is interdicted

what happens in the humans' thinking and mindset regarding mental , social or economical outcomes

what happens whether the ball enters the goal or not ?

it doesn't have any human impact or anything else !

but all that is an grounded illusion neither in mindset nor in the society nor on any level

yes , it's true that sport in and of itself , is permissible if it is free of charge and a free -of- charge sport training is also permissible

in order to build up the body to strengthen it or spending time on permissible activities

however , it's morally fluctuated because it seeks worldly pleasure and turning away from invocation of Allah '' Glorified and Exalted Be He ''

even if it's a free sport not to mention the one through which , people make money

the infidel WEST clang onto it ; actually , it ( soccer ) came to us from the infidel WEST and no more than that

and they want us to be like them by drawing us to them

but , we say to them '' in spite of you ! you are our enemy and we will never submit to you not even a bit !

the infidel WEST clang onto it for many reasons :

firstly ,

the Westerners are empty of moral compass , religious influence and believing in the hereafter

so , they want to fill their leisure time with entertaining and joyful things

and they don't have anything to achieve that except through sports and team sports

U.S trade deficit with S. Korea doubles since KORUS FTA took effect: U.S. envoy - Duration: 1:34.

Washington's acting ambassador in Seoul expressed dissatisfaction with the two country's bilateral

trade pact.

Mark Knapper pointed out... that while the FTA is an important link between the allies,

America's trade deficit with Korea cannot be overlooked.

Connie Kim has the details.

The United States has repeated its discontent over its trade deficit with Korea spiraling

from the Free Trade Agreement between the two allies, known as KORUS FTA, and called

on a more fair deal.

Addressing the first ROK-U.S. Joint Public-Private Economic Forum on Monday,….Acting U.S. Ambassador

to Korea Marc Knapper said the serious trade deficit with Seoul has doubled since the five-year-old

bilateral trade pact took effect and that Washington is looking for ways to make the

agreement into a more fair and balanced one.

Knapper labeled the trade deal "a symbol of the two nations' economic link" but added

that Washington cannot overlook the fact that deficit from the agreement has doubled since

it went into effect in April 2012.

U.S. President Trump had claimed the KORUS FTA now in its fifth year was horrible and

left the U.S. destroyed... which led to meetings of a round of talks on Washington's demands

for an amendment.

It was on the second round of meetings and earlier this month that the two sides agreed

to begin a process to amend the free trade deal.

The U.S. has raised the idea of FTA revisions centering on the automobile industry,.. and

that discussions will likely continue when the top negotiators from both Seoul and Washington

meet next month during Trump's visit to Korea next month.

History of the US Flag, in Paper - Duration: 4:01.

The first flag of the United States was adopted in 1777 out of the colors red, white, and

blue.

The new country had just declared its independence from Britain, and was made of 13 new states

that used to be British colonies.

So they decided to put 13 red and white stripes on the flag.

And in this blue area of the flag, called the canton, they placed one white star for

each of the 13 states in the union: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut,

Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina,

and Rhode Island.

So this was the first United States flag, with 13 stripes and 13 stars.

Eventually, two more states were added to the U.S., so they added two more stripes and,

of course, two more stars for Vermont and Kentucky.

15 stripes and 15 stars.

But then, soon enough, there were five new states, and people started to realize that

if they kept adding more stripes, those stripes were going to get ridiculously skinny.

So in 1818, the United States passed a new Flag Act law, which would keep the number

of stripes at 13 in honor of those first 13 states.

But they would add new stars to the flag for the new states to come in the future.

It looks better that way.

So, these five new states were Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, Indiana, and Mississippi.

20 stars.

The next state to enter the union was Illinois, on December 3, 1818.

Now, that new Flag Act declared that once a new state or states enter the union, the

flag wouldn't officially get its new stars until the next Independence Day, July 4th,

which is still the rule today.

So, because Illinois became a state on December 3, 1818, the new star was officially added

to the flag on July 4, 1819.

So, Illinois, 21 stars.

Now, by the next July 4th, two new states had joined the union: Alabama and Maine, which

actually split off from Massachusetts, so let's just put that one back.

So yeah, Alabama and Maine joined in the same one-year period.

So because of the Flag Act's July 4 rule, the flag jumped from 21 stars straight to

23 stars in 1820.

And now it gets a little boring for a bit.

Missouri, 24 stars.

Arkansas, 25 stars.

Michigan, 26 stars.

Florida, 27 stars.

Texas, 28 stars.

Iowa, 29 stars.

Just keep stealing that land.

Wisconsin, 30 stars.

California, 31 stars.

Kill some more people.

Minnesota, 32 stars.

Oregon, 33 stars.

Kansas, 34 stars.

And now we are in the Civil War.

Of course, the United States kept all the stars even for those states that were trying

to leave the union.

But during the war, a bunch of the western counties of Virginia wanted to stay part of

the USA.

So in 1863, Congress let them split from Virginia and become the brand new state of West Virginia.

And now the flag had 35 stars.

Later on, Nevada became a state.

36 stars.

Nebraska, 37 stars.

Colorado, 38 stars.

Then in 1889 and 1890, between two July 4's, there were five new states: North Dakota,

South Dakota, Montana, Washington, and Idaho.

So from 38 stars, the flag jumped straight to 43 stars.

Then with Wyoming, we got 44 stars.

Utah, 45 stars.

Oklahoma, 46 stars.

Then in 1912, there were two new states: New Mexico and Arizona.

48 stars.

This was also the first time that a specific star pattern was made official by the U.S.

government.

Before this, people were just making up lots of different star arrangements this whole

time.

Anyway, the number of stars stayed at 48 for quite a while until 1959, when Alaska became

a state, giving the flag 49 stars.

And later that summer, Hawai'i became the 50th state, giving us that 50-star flag that

we still have today.

And that is the evolution of the United States flag so far.

Maybe there will be 51 stars on this thing someday.

Who knows?

5 WEAPONS, ABSENCE OF WHICH MAKES NORTH KOREA HANDICAPPED INCASE OF ANY CONFLICT WITH US. - Duration: 7:02.

2 US bombers have flown close to North Korea today in a show of force to intimidate despot

Kim Jong-un.

The supersonic US B-1B strategic bombers zoomed over South Korea as part of an air show prompting

Kim to warn the Korean peninsula is on the "eve of explosion".

They flew low over Seoul Air Base for 8 minutes as part of the Seoul International Aerospace

and Defence Exhibition 2017.

The first bomber was escorted by two South Korean F-15K fighter jets and flew as low

as 450 m above the ground before exiting to the west.

The second flew even lower, just 150 m above the base.

The bombers took off from Guam's Anderson Air Base earlier in the day before entering

the skies of South Korea.

The flyover comes 11 days after two B-1B bombers carried out surprise night-time exercises

over the waters off South Korea's east and west coasts in a show of force against North

Korea.

As the situation heats up, Defense Updates looks at 5 WEAPONS, ABSENCE OF WHICH MAKES

NORTH KOREA HANDICAPPED INCASE OF ANY CONFLICT WITH US.

Lets get started.

An airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) SYSTEM is an airborne radar system designed

to detect aircraft, ships and vehicles at long ranges and perform command and control

of the battlespace in an air engagement by directing fighter and attack aircraft strikes.

AEW&C units are also used to carry out surveillance, including over ground targets and frequently

perform C2BM (command and control, battle management) functions.

When used at altitude, the radar on the aircraft allows the operators to detect and track targets

and distinguish between friendly and hostile aircraft much farther away than a similar

ground based radar.

Like a ground based radar, it can be detected by opposing forces, but because of its mobility,

it is much less vulnerable to counter-attack.

AWACS are force multipliers as they enable much better situational awareness and hence

will be missed heavily by North in case of a conflict

North Korea has a mix of old Soviet era Surface-to-Air missiles (SAMs), which includes the S-75,

S-125, S-200 and Kvadrat.

All these systems are outdated and represent technology that is 2 to 3 generation old.

Also, these may not be in good working condition.

Even when working, are likely to be only nuisance instead of being a solid challenge because

of their old radar technology and limited onboard computational power.

In addition to them, since early the 2010s North Korea has deployed an indigenous SAM

system, which is called KN-06 by South Korea and the U.S.

The KN-06 is a long-range SAM that bears some resemblance to the Russian S-300 and Chinese

FT-2000 is the most capable North Korean air defense system.

It has a max range of 150 km.

But even this system is equipped with a Flap Lid type phased array radar, which will find

it difficult to have a lock on B1B and has no chance against B2 Spirit.

Air superiority is a major factor in any conflict.

The North Korean Air Force has a fleet of more than 1,300 aircraft that are primarily

legacy Soviet models and are predominantly responsible for defending North Korean air

space.

The overwhelming majority of Pyongyang's arsenal is made up of 1950s and 1960s vintage

machines, which even includes Chinese derivatives of very old fighters like Mig 17 and Mig 19.

The MiG-29 is the Korean People's Army Air Force's (KPAF) most modern fighter and it

operates approximately 40 of these.

Though the Mig 29 is a capable fighter but North Korea has been isolated for long with

very little access to spare parts and other maintenance infrastructure.

Even for many developed countries, the actual availability of fighter fleet tends to be

about 70% of total strength, the situation for North Korea is expected to be even worse,

so they may be able to filed only about 30 of these at a time.

Also we must have to note that fighter jets are platforms and their effectiveness depends

largely on the weapons they carry.

With little to no access to foreign air-to-air missiles, because of sanction and no in-house

designs; the Mig 29 is equipped with old weapons technology.

Aircraft carriers can used to project power far from the nations coastlines as they provide

a base for the fighter aircrafts.

The United States Navy has 11 large nuclear-powered fleet carriers known as supercarriers, carrying

up to around 80 fighter jets each.

These largest carriers in the world; the total combined deckspace is over twice that of all

other nations combined.

In addition, US has 9 amphibious assault ships used primarily for helicopters, although these

also carry up to 20 vertical or short take-off and landing (V/STOL) fighter jets and are

similar in size to medium-sized fleet carriers.

The aircraft carriers provide the strategic depth and operational flexibility.

North Korea has none, and its fighter will have to fly from fixed airfields which make

them susceptible.

North Korea is dependent on land-based missiles for nuke delivery, as it has no aircraft capable

of carrying nuclear bombs and has no ballistic missile submarines.

North Korea's is under constant surveillance by radars and satellites of U.S, South Korean

& Japan.

Land based missile site are vulnerable to preemptive attacks.

US has multitude of options that can target these site at moments notice like stealth

bombers or Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Nuclear powered Ballistic Missile Submarines are considered to the most survival nuke delivery

option.

There ability to stay underwater is restrained only by human endurance to stay underwater.

This makes them virtually undetectable as they can loiter in the vast oceans indefinitely

away from the preying eyes of enemy aircrafts or satellites.

North Korea will surely miss this and this would have been its greatest deterrence.

CNN 10 | October 21, 2017 | U.S. leaders and music stars team up to help hurricane victims - Duration: 10:01.

Hey, I'm Carl Azuz, explaining world news for CNN 10.

Welcome to our first show of the week.

There's a lot going on right now in the Asian island country of Japan.

The nation held snap or early elections yesterday.

They were originally

scheduled for next year.

But Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called for them to be held now because he was doing

well again in opinion polls.

His numbers had dropped

as the government grappled with a fair of corruption scandals linked to the prime minister,

though he's repeatedly denied being involved.

But they ticked back up again recently and analysts say Prime Minister Abe wanted to

take advantage of that and to get more support for his stance

against North Korea.

That nation has fired two ballistic missiles over Japan recently.

And it's not the only challenge Japan is facing.

Typhoon Lan was bearing down on the country last night.

It was expected to make landfall along

Japan's southern coast.

Its wind speeds were 134 miles per hour on Sunday, making the typhoon the equivalent

of a powerful category 4 hurricane.

And though Typhoon Lan was weakening as it approached Japan, it was so large that the

clouds around it extended farther than the borders of the

whole country.

Dangerous winds, flooding, mudslides and damage in the Japanese capital of Tokyo were all

possible.

AZUZ (voice-over): Ten-second trivia:

Which living, former U.S. president is the oldest?

George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton?

George H.W. Bush was the born more than three months before Jimmy Carter, making him the

oldest living U.S. president, even though his term was later

than Carter.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: They were both born in 1924, which means that at a weekend concert to benefit people

in need, where all living U.S. presidents made an

appearance, there were two American leaders who are 93 years old.

Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter were joined in person by George W.

Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

And current President

Donald Trump appeared in a video message to concertgoers.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BARACK OBAMA, FORMER PRESIDENT: Heartbreaking as the tragedies that took place here in Texas

and in Florida, in Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin

Islands have been, what we've also seen is the spirit of America at its best.

DONALD TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES: As a nation, we mourn for those who died,

and we pray for those who lost their homes or their

livelihoods.

In the aftermath of these terrible storms, the American people have done what we do best,

we came together, we helped one another,

and through it all, we remained resilient.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

AZUZ: You heard them say the tragedies and these storms -- the event was named Deep from

the Heart: The One American Appeal.

And its goal was to

raise money and assistance for the victims Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Stars like Lee Greenwood, Yolanda Adams and Lady Gaga were there.

And as of Saturday night, when the concert was held at Texas A&M University, the charity

effort had raised $31 million for more than 80,000

donors.

Where will the money go?

To organizations in Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

What are the needs like?

Here's a look at the line of people that formed last week in Texas.

They were waiting for food assistance.

Hurricane

Harvey struck that state on August 25th.

Here are some of the thousands who waited in a similar line on Saturday, also seeking

food assistance,

also victims of a hurricane, that one named Irma, which made landfall in Florida on September

10th.

And on the U.S. commonwealth of Puerto Rico,

Hurricane Maria hit on September 20th, and knocked out electricity to the whole island.

More than four weeks later, 21 percent of Puerto Rico's power has been restored.

That means 3 million people there still don't have it, and about

a third of Puerto Ricans don't have safe drinking water yet.

POLO SANDOVAL, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): This school yard should be bustling with activity

at the height of fall semester.

Not today, not

since Hurricane Maria threatened and later devastated Puerto Rico.

The island's other 1,100 public schools and the doors to this high school have

been closed since September 18th.

Today, the only signs of life are on the other end of the campus.

Room 204 serves as Margarita Fuentes' temporary home.

(SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

SANDOVAL: This 52-year-old grandmother of 11 tells me, for one moment to another, she

lost her house and everything in it.

Her grandson Ezekiel led us up the mountainside to show us what's left of the family's

homes.

There isn't much else you can do these days.

Last

most of the students on this island, a return to class may provide a welcome escape from

reality.

(SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

SANDOVAL: He says the first thing he'll do when he gets back to class is hug his friends.

He doesn't know when that would be.

As long as displaced families like his are using schools as shelters, classes can't

resume.

The Department of Education announced Friday that some schools on the island would reopen

on Tuesday.

But the teachers at this school say that won't happen here.

(SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

SANDOVAL: "We have a lot of work to do," says Roxanna Miranda (ph), a drama teacher, anxious

to welcome her high schoolers back to class.

While there's optimist, there's no real timeline for when the students will walk down

the halls again.

Even if displaced families are resettled, there

are still plenty of obstacles.

(SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

SANDOVAL: Classrooms in disrepair, roads are nearly impassable because of the mudslides,

and there's no running water in town, leaving families to

struggle to survive.

(SPEAKING FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

SANDOVAL: Margarita says she is staying strong and wants to see her grandchildren back in

a classroom, just not this one.

AZUZ: Reporting on California's wildfires, we told you how they have been the deadliest

in the state's recorded history.

They now hold the record

for being the most destructive.

Two hundred forty-five thousand acres have burned.

That's a total space larger than the area of San Diego,

California, Memphis, Tennessee, or New York City.

Eighty-four hundred buildings have been destroyed, 42 lives have been lost, according to Cal

Fire, 10,000 firefighters are still involved in the fight.

They've made progress containing many of the blazes, that doesn't mean they're

out.

It means they've been surrounded by fire breaks.

The threat

to the state remains.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

ALLISON CHINCHAR, CNN METEOROLOGIST: More than a dozen wildfires continue to burn across

areas of California, the majority of them in the northern

half of the state.

The key thing to note is that it's been burning in the northern half of the state

for quite some time.

In fact, when you take a

look at the top 20 most destructive wildfires in California's history, four them have

been in just this past month, and several of them are still

burning across areas of Northern California.

But the focus moving forward actually shifts from Northern California to southern California,

where we start to expect those Santa Ana winds to

begin to increase that fire threat.

So, you'll notice across areas of Southern California, we have both elevated and critical

fire threats for at

least the next several days.

This high pressures that has over areas of the southeast is what's going to help push

that very hot, dry air over the

Santa Ana Mountains and into some of those valley locations, including the city of Los

Angeles.

Because of that, you're going to be experiencing those strong winds but also incredibly hot

temperatures.

We have excessive heat warnings out for

much of this area, an excessive heat watches just a little bit further to the north of

Los Angeles not just for one day, but for multiple days.

Take a look at some of these temperatures: Los Angeles, for example, 78 degrees is the

average high temperature, will be in the 90s today and

triple digit for both Monday and Tuesday.

Both of which, by the way, could potentially end up being record highs for that city.

And they're not alone but Los Angeles becomes the bigger story because of the big event

that is taking place on Tuesday -- the start of the World

Series.

Here's the thing, the forecast for Tuesday shows a high of 100 degrees.

If we end up getting that warm, this could end up being the

hottest game in World Series history.

AZUZ: Despite winning a public poll last year, the name Boaty McBoatface was not applied

to a British research ship.

Officials used that for one of

its submersibles instead.

But a Swedish transportation company honored its public's wishes when they voted to name

this Trainy McTrainface.

Officials even put a sweet face on

it to match its sweet new name.

They say Trainy McTrainface got 49 percent of the public vote, the biggest slice of the

piece.

It's a good thing that vote didn't go off the rails y'all.

Many fans of Boaty McBoatface were sunk.

So, when some took rolling stock of the

Swedish vote, got on track on locomotivated to train their efforts on cargoing the distance,

the result was a choo-choo-in to station Trainy

McTrainface in the railyard.
