Unexpected at sunshine
Two months ago it had been cloudy in Houston for a long time grey do
Overcast every morning when I woke up. I thought surely it's going to be sunny today
I looked outside eagerly, but nothing had changed
I watched the weather reports on the news, but as far out as they predicted
It was all cloudy check the 10-day report on my phone
Nothing had changed
No Indian sign it had been that way so long people started asking the question
When are we ever going to see the Sun again?
Sometimes it can be that way in life
It's cloudy in our health cloudy in our finances cloudy in a relationship
they have today goes by doesn't look like it's ever going to change a
Gentleman told recently how he struggled with an addiction since high school
Those dark clouds roll in now 30 years later. He's still dealing with it hasn't seen the Sun
When it's been dark for a long time. It's easy to get discouraged and think that it's never going to change
One morning I was in my office looking out the window was another gray gloomy day like it had been again and again
But all of the sudden out of nowhere
The clouds broke open and this bright ray of sunlight came shining down
Look like a postcard was so beautiful the sun shining through the trees
The ground was blistering I sat there and took it all in for such a welcome sight I could feel my spirits lifting
In a few minutes as I watched all the clouds
Dissipated they didn't blow away
They just went away like fog burning off. I heard these two words in my spirit
unexpected sunshine
Maybe it's been clouding in your life for a long time those clouds of loneliness. Don't look like they'll ever lived
You don't think you'd ever meet the right person, but can I tell you God has?
Unexpected sunshine he's already lined up the person of your dreams just
a matter of time before those piles open up
The medical court may say you'll never get well. Just learn to live with its clouding in your head stay encouraged
Unexpected sunshine is coming your way
Are those clouds of struggled lack can't get ahead may have followed you around for years
You can easily accept mediocrity
Think you reach your limits. We'll get ready for

Move in some area of your life the good news is those clouds don't stop our God
He controls the clouds in a slip second. He can cause them to open up
Suddenly we get well
Suddenly you meet the right person suddenly you're out of debt. Don't be discouraged by the clouds. They're only temporary
It was cloudy in our life in
1981 when my mother was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer those clouds came storming in
Everywhere we loved was dark gloomy depressing
The forecast said a few weeks to live
But people don't have the final say God does he said I have unexpected sunshine
I'm all calls those clouds to open up shine down healing shine down restoration
That's what happened in my mother's life. Unexpectedly the Sun came out
34 years later, she's still healthy and home
But when it's clouded every voice will tell you it's never going to change
You'll always be addicted always be discouraged always struggle in your career
Don't believe those lies God is saying I have
Unexpected sunshine coming your way
It's going to be unusual out of the ordinary and it's going to happen suddenly those clouds are going to break open
You're going to see rays of healing rays a favor raise a promotion
Now do your part and get an agreement with God?
Start acting like it's going to happen
Thinking like it's going to happen
Talking like it's going to happen no more. I'll never get well Joel. I've had this too long
No, God is restoring health back into me the number of my days. He will fulfill
No more I'm never getting good breaks. I'll never accomplish my dreams. No. I have the favor of God
Blessings are chasing me, then I'm the head and not the tail
No more this problem is too big. I don't see a way out
No it may be big, but I know my God is bigger. Maybe a little cloudy right now, but I know a secret
Unexpected sunshine is coming my way
Jesus said in message 622 a pure I let sunshine into your soul
You have this attitude of faith
Positive hopeful expecting good things that pure eye is letting sunshine into your life
But when we go around stressed out
Worried think of this never going to change
That's stopping the Sun is causing more clouds to roll in more defeat more mediocrity
You have to start letting some Sun Shine into your life. It doesn't start with God it starts with us
Instead of being discouraged by the dark clouds our attitude should be any moment this can change
Feeling is coming
Promotion is coming the right person is coming breakthroughs are coming if you want to see the clouds open up you have to have this
expectancy
Shake off the negativity click talking about what's not working out turn it around God
I know you're in control of these clowns. They didn't come to stay they came to pass I believe at any moment
I'm going to see that unexpected sunshine a
Friend of mine had a supervisor at work. That was very conscious hard to get along with
Nobody likes a man this supervisor had been a constant source of frustration year after year. He was a young man
He could have easily been there for another 24 30 years, and my friend had a good attitude
He was determined to be his best what he was
But in the back of his mind
He thought this is going to be a pain to have to put up with this man the rest of my life
One morning he came to work everything seemed like normal
But the management called a special staff meeting they told how this
Supervisors wife had been transferred to another state and just without any warning
He resigned and was no longer with the company
Half of the staff fell down on their knees begin to thank God
What was that?
Unexpected sunshine he didn't see it coming
The forecast was cloudy all the reports said this problem is permanent
But God controls the universe he knows how to suddenly change things
He can suddenly move the wrong people out he can suddenly open doors
You never dreamed would open
That's why you can't just go by what you see what you see this temporary
Like those weather forecasts in May tell you it's going to be the same month after month year after year
Gloomy depressing it's never going to change in the natural that may be true
But the good news is we serve a supernatural God on your own you may be stuck
But you're not on your own
the creator of the universe
the God who spoke world into existence
Has you in the palm of his hand he's directing your steps
He controls the clouds. He controls the winds he doesn't have to wait for the weather to get better
It doesn't have to wait for the medical report to conclude doesn't have to wait for the situation to turn around
No when it's you time for promotion for healing for abundance all the forces of darkness
Cannot stop our God
Don't get discouraged and give up on what you believe in for you need to get ready those clouds are about to open up
The Sun is about to break through
Just like I saw in my office that Bank in 15 minutes all the clouds
Went out of the sky totally cleared up
God knows how to make what should have taken years happen in a fraction of the time
You're going to look up and say like my friend. I didn't see that coming I
Didn't see my supervisor resigning that quickly I didn't see my health
Improving this fast. I didn't see that Newhouse on the radar. I didn't see that favor coming a
Gentleman that's attended Lakewood for many years had a major stroke
He was told by the medical professionals that he would probably never be able to walk or talk again
even if he did we learn how to do it it would take years of
Rehabilitation it looked cloudy the forecast was very depressing that this man
understood this principle that God has
Unexpected sunshine he didn't sit around himself pity. He knew he was a Victoria not a victim
He went to therapy every day, and he amazed the therapist they had never seen anyone like him
16 months after he had the stroke. He came back to Lakewood the first time he came back not in a wheelchair
Not on a walker. He walked in on his own two feet
He was told that he would never be able to lift this left arm
But when I saw him in the lobby and our eyes met he lifted that arm both arms raised in the air raised in victory
I'll never forget that image
He wasn't disabled he wasn't limping
What should have taken years God made happen in a fraction of the time?
Unexpected sunshine the scripture puts it this way
When darkness overtakes the righteous light will come bursting in?
Doesn't say it will trickle in
Barely getting there. Hopefully make it one day. No suddenly unexpectedly
It will come bursting in that means it wasn't on the radar
You didn't see it coming, but God in His goodness turned it all around
It may be dark in your life right now cloudy in some area
You don't see how you'd ever get well ever get out of dad ever see the legal situation resolved
Here's the king you are the righteous. You are a child of the Most High God
You have royal blood flowing through your veins that means you have a promise from your Creator
When it gets dark when you could easily be discouraged when you feel like giving up God says we need to get ready
Life is about to burst in
Healing is going to burst in favor is going to burst in vindication
restoration is going to suddenly show up I
Talked to a man that knew the Lord as a child
But when he was a teenager he got off-course started running with the wrong crowd. He was living a very violent life
Selling drugs involved in crime. He was a disaster waiting to happen
Most of his life he was high
Surely God wouldn't have anything to do with him his own fault. He brought the trouble on himself
But God is so merciful
Even though he was making poor choices
Even though he turned away from God
God didn't turn away from him
God still saw him as the righteous in the midst of all that trouble God said that's my son
He belongs to me. He overcome by darkness so my life is about to come bursting in
He was in a hotel room been there for four days doing drugs with some very violent people
Something happened to where he couldn't make his payment. They became very angry and were about to take his life
He ran and barricaded himself in the bathroom
High on drugs. He said this is it god
I'm sorry my life is over in a few minutes the door was violently kicked in he braced himself
Expecting the worst when he looked up. It wasn't who he thought it was a group of young people from Teen Challenge
He had been involved with that ministry as a teenager now years later. They heard that he was in trouble
Somehow they found him in the middle of the night in this drug infested
Rundown hotel just in the nick of time they burst in there like Navy SEALs
The other people thought they were the police and took off running
They picked him up off the ground said God sent us here to rescue you because you belong to him
That night
Was the turning point in his life? He never did another drug got out of that violent lifestyle today?
He goes around to schools and churches telling people what God has done for him
Maybe like this young man. You have a son a daughter a family member
That's of course running with the wrong crowd. They've been overcome by darkness you could easily be
Discouraged but stay in faith your child belongs to God
There's nothing that can snatch them out of his hand they may be in darkness the light is coming
Deliverance is coming freedom is coming God is not judging them by where they are right now
God is not abandoning them because they turn their back
God still sees them as the righteous life is still about to burst and
Or maybe you've made poor choices
You don't think you could expect anything good your God would never help me
You don't know the life that I live it doesn't say God will help the righteous as long as you don't make any mistakes
Have a new perspective you belong to God you are his child
Now you have to have this attitude not on made business
I brought this trouble of myself, but I know you're a God of mercy. I believe you still have
Unexpected sunshine coming my way
In other words I'm struggling with this eviction, but I believe deliverance is on the way
Restoration vindication is going to suddenly show up
Numbers chapter 17 there has been a power struggle over who would become the next priest
people were questioning Moses Authority
God told Moses he was going to show them who the priests should be
God instructed Moses to take the stance the walking sticks from the leaders of each of the tribes of Israel
He placed these walking sticks in a tent next to the Ark of the Covenant
That's where God lived back there. These fast were just old dried-up
Dead pieces of wood just basically a stick that they had use for years
The next morning the staff of Aaron had sprouted branches
Growing leaves and even produced almonds here this old piece of dead wood was now blooming and blossoming
They knew Aaron was supposed to be the priest
One lesson we can learn from this story is that God can change things overnight?
he can take a situation that should take years to resolve and
accelerate it
You may think it's going to take years to get that years to get out of that gears to accomplish your dreams
God knows how to speed it up one good break one phone call one idea
suddenly unexpectedly
Overnight God can change it now. Don't believe the lies that it's never going to get better
Enjoy my marriage situation. It looks a day my dreams my financial situation it all looks dead. That's okay
God took a stick that had been dead for years and caused it to produce new fruit
What you think is dead God is saying I can still cause it to bloom to blossom?
I think we've new life in it. You can still become who you were created to be
You can still overcome that obstacle
you can still accomplish your dreams I
Received a letter from a lady that had been married for 47 years
But because of some hurtful things in the relationship, she and her husband had recently gotten a divorce
Somebody invited her to Lakewood her ex-husband heard and asked if he could come
The Saturday night before the service they had a big disagreement on the phone nothing had changed
Sunday morning he went and picked her up and on the way over in the car. They had another major argument
She was so upset she almost got out and wouldn't come in
They finally arrived and went way up to the top to sit
She mentioned to an usher that it was their first time they were visiting he said all follow me
He took them from the very top to the front section and sat them on the second row
They were very moved by the service
During the prayer time they came up and played with one of our volunteer prayer partners a young lady
After the service being new they didn't really know where to go so they walked out this exit right over here by mile
And I was coming out of a small room
She was coming around the corner, and we literally bumped into each other. I said oh, I'm sorry
I didn't see you now of all the people here. She was surprised that she bumped into me
her husband spoke up and said
We just got divorced after 47 years
We came to church because we're hurting I told them it wasn't a coincidence that we have bumped into each other
it was a hand of God directing their steps I
had a new book that we
Asked them if they'd come upstairs with me
And I gave them a copy of my book and we played together as they were leaving through that Lobby
thousands of people walking in and out it just so happened they bumped in to
The young lady that had played with them during the service that
Volunteer prayer partner she asked if this couple had a moment that they could talk together she spoke to them about forgiveness
Restoration new beginnings the wife was having a hard time forgiving
She looked her in the eyes and said your husband is a good man. He deserves your forgiveness
That moment she released her their marriage was restored. That was six years ago today
They are happily remarried right here on the front row John and Ann some of our most faithful volunteers
Really great people
And wrote at the end of the letter
Joel we were both stunned at how quickly God turned things around
Friends God knows how to change things overnight
Even situations that look impossible you think it's way too far gone. God knows how to break through those dark clouds
Suddenly the relationship is restored. Suddenly you get help you again
Suddenly get that wake you need God is going to accelerate what you think should take years
You know what that? Uh? Sure was they brought them from the top down to the front?

You know what that volunteer prayer partner was they took time to speak faith into their lives. They prayed within that day
Unexpected sunshine what am I saying God has the right people lined up for you?
He knows how to put you at the right place at the right time
What are the chances all the people here that we would lump into each other it wasn't a coincidence
It was unexpected sunshine
You might think Joel my situation. I don't see how it could ever work out. Here's the
You don't have to figure it out all you have to do is believe
Just because you don't see your way doesn't mean that God doesn't have a way. He already has the solution our attitude should be
God my life is in your hands. It's a little cloudy right now
I don't see how I can accomplish my dreams
But God I believe you have unexpected sunshine coming my way. I believe you'll get me to where I'm supposed to be
The psalmist put it this way
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming in the morning
Think about this
Morning starts at midnight at
Midnight, it's still dark
But it's a new day in a few hours light is coming the sun's going to break forward
But too often when it's dark in our life. We think all men. Nothing's changing til it's never going to get any better
You know you have to believe that you pass midnight. You have to believe that you've entered into a new day
Here's the key don't wait to thank God until you see the Sun Shine
Dare to thank him while it's still dark dare to have a good attitude while it's still cloudy
This is what faith is all about
We think when I see it. I'll believe it, but faith says you have to believe it, and then you'll see
But when things are going our way. It's easy to do just the opposite dip negative complain
Why can't I get any good breaks when is this ever going to change?
No, turn it around it may be dark right now, but what I believe I've entered into a new day
I believe I'll past midnight so I want to thank you that joy is coming

This couple I know were at the beach
They were in the water playing in the waves having a lot of fun
At one point the lady felt for expensive diamond necklace slip off of her neck into the water
They were right at the place the waves were breaking
The water was all stirred up like a washing machine
She and her husband looked hour after hour
But it was impossible the water was so turbulent they had no chance of finding it
Even though she was disappointed that she lost it she didn't let it steal her joy or shower the rest of her vacation
The next morning she went out to the beach very early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise
standing there in the surf
Thanking God for what he had done not even thinking about her necklace under her foot as the waves
Retweeted it told more and more sand out little by little in a few minutes
She felt something sharp poking her foot she thought it was a rock a seashell. She looked down. It was her diamond necklace
Unexpected sunshine only God could make that happen
That's like finding a needle in the haystack
the good news God created the haystack
He knows where everything is he tells every grain of sand where to gun he controls the scene he controls the clown's
If God can help her find the necklace in the ocean he can bring your dreams to pass
He can help you overcome that problem. He has it all figured out
Well Joel. I don't have the connections. That's ok. He does. I don't have the resources. That's all right. He owns it all
Well the medical report says no way God has the final say he says yes way
It may be cloudy in your life, but I can sense in my spirit
Those clouds are about to open up you need to get ready you are close to a breakthrough
It's going to happen sooner than you think you're about to see some suddenly now do your part
Let the Sun Shine into your life have this attitude of faith. Go out each day with expectancy if you do this

I want to talk to you today about how you can have the last laugh
We all go through situations where we're not being treated fairly
Maybe somebody's talking behind our back trying to make us look bad or we were overlooked for a promotion
Perhaps even cheated in a business deal. I talked to a young man. That was being made fun of at school
Who's constantly being ridiculed and given a hard time because he wasn't in a certain group
Another lady told how she was looked down on at work and not given the credit
she deserved because she wouldn't go to lunch each day and
Gossip and complain with the rest of the co-workers they thought she was too good for them didn't have anything to do with that
She just didn't want the poison to go on the inside when we're being mistreated
Somebody on purpose is trying to make us look bad on purpose talking behind our back
The natural thing to do is get in there defend ourselves set the record straight
If you talk about me
And we'll talk about you you stab me in the back you better watch out two can play at that game. Your time is coming
Human nature wants to get revenge we like to get even but the scripture says
Vengeance is mine says the Lord
That means God will make your wrongs, right?
God wants to pay you back for every unfair thing. That's happened. He is a God of justice
People maybe making light of you not giving you a credit you deserve treating you poorly
Bottom line is this God wants you to have the last laugh
Here's how it can happen Romans 12:19 says never avenge yourself
But leave the way open for God
Notice you can either avenge yourself, or you can let God be your Avenger
But you cannot have it both ways if you take matters into your own hands
And you're always trying to get even and pay people back
Prove to them that you're right, and they're wrong
Then God's going to step back and say you go ahead you do it your way. You don't need my help
but on the other hand if we can learn to stay on the high road and no matter how great the
Opportunity to make somebody look bad no matter how much we want to pay them back
We rule over our emotions and say now. I'm gonna let God be my Avenger
I'm gonna trust God to bring justice into my life when you do that
That's when God will show up and say all right. Let me go to work
I remember one time many years ago my father received a letter from another minister
That was very mean very critical very hurtful
He accused my father of things that were totally false no truth to them whatsoever
When my father read it he was not only extremely hurt, but he was a little angry he thought to himself
I'm gonna give this guy a piece of my mind
He sat down and wrote back the meanest ugliest letter
He possibly could he said brother. You don't know what you're talking about. How dare you accuse me of these things
He sealed it walked to the end of the driveway put it in the mailbox and mailed it in a few minutes
He heard a voice right down in here saying you got even didn't you daddy said yeah, I got even you feel better
Don't you yeah, I feel better you paid him back didn't you yeah paid him back?
Then the voice said you sure did you paid him back evil for evil?
My father gulped. He could feel that conviction. He knew it was God speaking to him
He realized he didn't respond the right way he went back to the mailbox got the letter out tore it up
He never sent it. Never said another word about it. You know what he was doing
Choosing to let God be his Avenger he was choosing to let God make his wrongs, right
16 years later my father received a phone call from the man
He was weeping and weeping he said pastor Osteen that letter I sent you
It was so wrong I feel so bad. Can you forgive me?
Friends God knows how to bring justice in your life it may not happen overnight, but it will happen
God knows every person that's done you wrong. He sees every time you've been hurt
He's keeping the records if we can just learn to stay on the high road and not waste our time trying to pay people back
To get even then God promises he will be our Vindicator
And I don't believe we would be here today if my father had not learned how to pass those kinds of tests
God will only release favor and promotion in our lives when he knows our character can handle it
If you get upset every time somebody does you wrong and you live your life trying to vindicate yourself?
That you're not going to get to where God wants you to be and it's interesting in the scripture
David was anointed to be king
Many years before he ever took the throne he had to go through a period of testing
During this time King Saul was trying to kill him was very unfair
David had done
nothing
But good for Saul that Saul had turned it around and at one point David had an opportunity to end Saul's life
He could have put it into his frustration and misery, but do you know David would not do it?
He said Saul made the Lord avenge me of the wrongs you have done, but my hands will not touch you
No wonder David was a champion no wonder. He was promoted
He knew how to let God be his Avenger
Now wonder how many people just like David have been anointed to do something great in life
To be in a position of leadership a place of honor fulfill their god-given dreams
But the problem is they never pass the test they're always trying to pay back the Saul's in their life
They don't realize the Saul's that is the people that on purpose
Do you wrong the people that are constantly criticizing? They are simply?
Distractions that is a trap to try to get you to lose focus
Where you spend all your time and energy trying to pay them back?
When you should be using your time and energy to move forward into your god-given destiny
And understand you cannot avenge yourself like God can avenge you
You may think you can but God's ways are bigger and better than our own
God can take those people that are making fun of you right now and use them to be the people that promote to
Instead of having to work for that boss. That's always putting you down and never giving you any credit
You don't know when god vindicates you that boss may be working for you
That person that won't give you the time of day never listen to your opinion when god avenges you
They'll hang on every word you say they'll do whatever they can to spend time with you they may be laughing now
But when God brings justice you're gonna have the last laugh
Nor attitude should be this may not be fair. They're not treating me right, but I'm not taking matters into my own hands
I'm gonna let God be my Avenger. I know when God vindicates me. I'm gonna come out smelling like a rose
You may look down on me now
But one day you'll look up to me you may not give me the time of day now
but one day you'll wish you had my time I
May not have much today
but one day you'll wish you had what I have I love the way David put it Psalm 23 verse 5
God prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies
That means God will not only avenge you he'll not only make your wrongs, right?
But he will bless you in front of your enemies
He could promote you anywhere, but he'll promote you in front of the people that were trying to make you look bad
He'll give you a favor on a recognition in front of the people that we're trying to bring you down
That person that stabbed you in the back
Betrayed you tried to keep you from rising higher. Don't worry about it. One day. They'll be watching you receive the credit you deserve
When people talk about me, I don't get discouraged. I know God just sent the Angels to the grocery store
Somebody lies about you. No big deal. I can see Gabriel setting the table somebody's spreading rumors somebody criticizing
I'm not upset. I know God just turned the oven on I'm getting ready for my meal
Not alone not by myself not with just my friends
There's going to be some onlookers
There's going to be a few people that can smell the food
They can see the beautiful table they can hear the laughter, but this time. They're not a part of the party you're having the last
They're watching you enjoy what God has prepared
In other words they're seeing you be promoted
They said you'd never meet anyone, but they're watching you get married
They said you don't have what it takes, but they're watching you accomplish your dreams
They said you'd never get out of the hospital, but they're watching you walk out healthy and home
They said you're too slow, too small not talented enough
But they're watching you receive honor stepping into that winner's circle
You need to get ready many of you have done the right thing you have overlooked offenses
You've shaken off negative words you blessed your enemies
You need to know today your dinner is almost ready the food is cooked the table is set
It's just a matter of time. Can you step up to the plate?
What am I saying don't get discouraged just keep doing the right thing?
I've learned if the enemy can't stop your dinner. He'll try to sour your party
He already knows God's gonna vindicate you. He knows you're gonna have the last laugh
He can see the table is set but he'll do everything he can to try to steal your joy
Convinced you it's never gonna work out. You're never gonna be vindicated
No
Just keep shaking that off any moment you're gonna hear the dinner bell ringing
Those people that are hindering you trying to bring you down. They're going to see you stepping into a new level
They're gonna see God's favor and goodness in your life in a greater way
I was talking to a gentleman that was a mechanic at a big diesel shop. He told how for years?
He was treated unfairly there. It's a very negative environment
They were constantly making fun of him they thought he was kind of stiff because he wouldn't go party with them
After work and year after year he had to put up with this injustice this ridicule
And he was one of the top producers one of the best mechanics at that company, but in seven years
He had never had a promotion a raise a bonus. Nothing because his supervisor didn't like him
He could have easily gone around with the chip on his shoulder
Negative discouraged, but no he understood this print. He knew God was his Vindicator
He knew the food was being prepared the table was set in any moment God was going to bring justice
One day out of the blue the owner of the company called him
He had never met the man before the owner wasn't involved in the day-to-day operations
For some reason he called this man
He talked about how he wanted to get out of the business, and he offered to sell the company to this man
Men said, I don't have money to buy your company the owner said you don't need money
I'm gonna loan it to you long story short
He took the offer and today that man owns the company free and clear what happened his dinner was served
Now those people that used to make fun of him they don't make fun of him anymore
Instead of instead of calling him names they called him boss
What is that God serving him dinner in the presence of his enemies God?
Promoted him right in front of the people that were doing him wrong. They used to look down on him now
They look up to him. They used to blow him off and not give him the time of day now
They have to make an appointment if they want to see him
Friends god knows how to avenge you don't take matters into your own hands. If you'll let God be your Vindicator
He'll not only bring justice but he will promote you right in front of the people that were trying to make you look bad
Says in proverbs 16 when God approves your life your enemies will end up shaking your hand I
Met a man in the lobby not long ago. He said Joel. I was your biggest critic
I was always talking about you blogging against you and I came to one of your services to find something else to criticize
But I liked it so much. It came back the next week. That's been six months. I had missed the service yet now
I'm your biggest supporter. He reached out and shook my hand
That's God causing your enemies to shake your hand
You may have people right now that you're at odds with
Somebody at work that won't speak to you perhaps a family member that's gotten bitter towards you
Even though you're doing your best to be kind and respectful. They're just the opposite the more kinds
You are the more hateful. They are you have pure motives you want to do. What's right, but they're always
Twisting your intentions. It'd be easy for you to get bitter say fine. You want to treat me like that
I'll treat you like that see if I'm ever nice to you again
No, don't sit down to their level just keep doing the right thing God is a God of justice
He knows how to change people's hearts it may be a week it may be a year it may be 25 years
But God promises one day. They're gonna reach out and shake your hand one day
They're going to give you the respect that you deserve
I know a friend that worked for this company, and he always gave it a hundred percent. He's got a great attitude
But the owner of this company had something against him never treated him fairly
Even though this young man is very talented very bright. He would never take his opinion never give him the time of day
Just kind of dismissed him as inferior this young man never got better
He didn't try to prove to everybody who he was he just kept being his best day in and day out and eventually this owner
unjustly fired him
He let him go for no reason the young man went out on his own and started his own real estate company and became extremely
Successful he never thought much more about his former boss
How he wasn't treated right he had totally let it go didn't have any ill-will toward anyone
But God is a God of justice
He never forgets what you were owned you may let it go, but God doesn't let it go
He's gonna make sure you get everything you deserve
several years later
His former boss the one that treated him so bad. He was downsizing his company
He needed a new building to put his business in and it just so happened
He wouldn't direct the building that this young man owned when he walked in and saw his
Former employee the one that he fired as the owner he nearly passed out
This time he hung on every word he said he treated him with respect and honor he valued his opinion
He ended up winning that facility and today he pays rent to the young man. He unjustly fired
That's God causing your enemy's tap to shake your hands. That's God giving you the last laugh. I
Think about the people that didn't want us to have this facility
some of them made fun mocked ridiculed
We don't want to Church down there of all things on and on they did whatever they could to stop us
But understand no person can stand against our God. No obstacle is too big. No enemy is too powerful
What God has ordained cannot be stopped by people by the economy by
governments by injustice God always has the final say and
Now when the critics and may sayers drive up and down the freeway and see our beautiful facility
You know what that is God serving us dinner in the presence of our enemies?
God wants to promote you
not in private
Not alone not just with your supporters God wants to promote you in front of your opponents
part of his justice is
Vindicating you so the people that said you would fail. See you succeed the people that said you don't have what it takes
See you accomplish in your dreams. I
Remember when my father died and I first started ministering
99% of the people were totally for me totally encouraging
But there were certain people that told me in a roundabout way. They didn't think I would make a good minister
I was too much of this too much of that
Really, they wanted someone else to take over and some of these people I'd known for a long long time
I thought they were my friends. I thought they would surely support me and encouraged me
After all it was hard enough going through the loss of my father and stepping up trying to do something new
The last thing I needed were people that I thought were on my side
Trying to pull me down
From time to time I heard reports that they were talking and trying to stir things up
But I made a decision early on that I was going to stay on the high road. I said god
They're talking about me, but I'm not going to talk about them. I'm not gonna try to defend myself
And I'm certainly not going to change and try to fit into their mold
I'm just going to be who you created me to be and today ten years later
I can truly say God has brought justice into my life
I don't say this arrogantly in any sense, but God has given me the last laugh. They said that
They said that I didn't have what it takes, but God knew otherwise
They said I was too much of this or not enough of that
But I knew God didn't make a mistake when he created me now
I didn't have their approval, but I had God's approval and that's all that really matters
Now
Practically every time they turned the television on
At least on Sunday. They can't help, but see me
Some of you are watching right now I can see
They may flip it off to another station, but you don't know I may be on that station next
What am I saying
We don't have to defend ourselves
We don't have to have everybody's approval if you'll stay on the high road and let God be your Vindicator
He'll not only give you the last laugh, but he'll put an exclamation point on it. He'll promote you in front of your critics
He'll give you honor and favor in front of the people that said you didn't have what it takes
And yes, they may continue to talk bad about you, but all they're really doing is
Preparing the way for God to bless you more the more they talk the more God sends the angels to the grocery store
The bigger meal he prepares
Somebody lies about you. Just imagine God. Just turned the oven on
Somebody is spreading rumors betrays you Gabriel just left to the grocery store
Instead of being discouraged by it you should be encouraged knowing that part of God's of indication is to not only bring you out
but to bring out promoted increased in front of your opponents I
Was talking to a minister the other day. He's an older man now for 50 or 60 years
He went all over the world doing so much good everywhere
He went people received him and loved him so much
But in his own hometown the local newspaper did not like him at all
They were always finding something wrong. He could do a hundred things right they wouldn't report on that
They'd find the one thing he did wrong and make a big deal about it this went on year after year
He had an interesting perspective
He said if it had not been for that newspaper. I would not have accomplished so much
They not only kept me on my knees. They not only gave me fuel to prove them wrong
But they're critical spirit that injustice put me in a position to receive God's favor in a greater way
He went on to build a big University in that town
Thousands of young people have attended it seemed like the least likely place for him to be blessed
The least likely place for him to accomplish his dreams where he had the most
Position the most criticism that no God says that's where I prepare the table. That's where I want to increase you
That's where I want to show you unusual favor not necessarily just in front of all your supporters all the people that celebrate you
But God wants to promote you in the presence of your enemies
here's what this means practically at work somebody is doing your wrong you just
Thank God if you'd give me another job these people are against me
They'll understand
You don't have to leave there to be blessed God wants to bless you right where you are he wants to promote you
Not only in spite of the opposition. He wants to promote you in front of the opposition
That's the way God brings justice that's how he vindicates us
one time in the scripture there was a great famine in the land no water no food month after month and
Isaac was about to pack up and move to another place, but God said no Isaac, I don't want you to leave there
I'm gonna bless you right where you are and so Isaac went out and planted his fields
The Philistines the people that lived there they already didn't like Isaac
They already were jealous of him this just added fuel to their fire
I can imagine them making fun of him mocking him ridiculing Isaac, what in the world are you doing?
Are you a fool planning and a time of famine? Nothing's gonna grow? There's no water
I'm sure he was the laughingstock of the community, but Isaac understood this principle
He didn't get in there and try to prove his point and try to set them straight
He just stayed in peace in fact his name means laughter
I can imagine the more they made fun the more they criticized the more he stayed full of joy just said god
I thank you that you're still on the throne that you're gonna bring the promise to pass that you're gonna. Give me this harvest
several months later all the people that were mocking and
Criticizing they were standing there looking at his fields scratching their heads
They couldn't believe it the scripture says he received
100 times more than he planted right there in the midst of the family his critics were dumbfounded
Thinking how does this guy get a harvest with no water?
friends God specializes in blessing you in front of your enemies
Some of you are trying to run away from a situation. That's difficult
Somebody's trying to make it look bad talking behind your back
I want you to have a new perspective
You do not have to leave there in order to be blessed God wants to bless you right where you are
part of his vindication is
Promoting you so the opposition can see in
Our attitude should be they may be laughing now it may not be fair, but I'm not the least bit worried
I know there injustice is preparing the way for God to promote me
They minute to hold me down, but God's going to use it to thrust me forward, and I should be discouraged
I should be trying to get even but I know better
I know a secret in fact I can hear something in the distance
It sounds like a dinner bell is ringing
not only that I can smell something I believe I can smell the pot roast the cornbread the
Enchiladas the fajitas the Blue Bell ice cream what is that God preparing the dinner and?
know this
When you are served there's going to be some onlookers
the critics the naysayers the
opposition the back biters the back
Stabbers the ones that were jealous the ones that said you'd never make it the ones that says you don't have what it takes
You can be assured God will make sure they have a clear view of your table
You'll make sure they see you being promoted you being honored you accomplished in your dreams
So what's my encouragement today? Let God be your Avenger let God make your wrongs right either
He can do it or you can do it, and if you let him do it. You'll always come out better
He'll even cause your enemies to end up shaking your hand they may be laughing right now
but know this
God is a faithful God in the end you're gonna have the last laugh God's going to bring justice into your life amen
