Let's start with the high-stakes talks in New York between the North Korean leader's
right-hand man Kim Yong-chol and America's top diplomat Mike Pompeo.
Speaking at a press conference Thursday afternoon, local time,... Pompeo said he's confident
their teams in Singapore and at the border village of Panmunjom, working with their North
Korean counterparts to prepare for the North Korea-U.S. summit, are going in the right
direction.
For more let's connect live to our Lee Ji-won who is on the phone for us over at Seoul's
Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Ji-won,... tell us more about what Pompeo said....
Semin, Pompeo said much progress has been made not only in his talks with Kim Yong-chol
but also in meetings at the other venues,... but there remains a great deal of work to
do, including convincing the North that in fact their security is greater without nuclear
weapons.
Pompeo reiterated how he made it clear to the regime numerous times, including in his
recent talks with Kim Yong-chol and his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during
his visit to Pyongyang, of his, President Trump and the United States' objective of
the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
He added they also made sure North Korea is clearly aware of the brighter path the U.S.
is ready to help Pyongyang make, should it denuclearize.
And Secretary Pompeo said he has faith in the North Korean leader.
"It will take bold leadership from Chairman Kim Jong-un if we are able to seize this once
in a lifetime opportunity to change the course for the world.
President Trump and I believe Chairman Kim is the kind of leader who can make those kinds
of decisions and that in the coming weeks and months we will have the opportunity to
test whether or not this is the case."
Pompeo added he and Kim Yong-chol discussed how North Korea and the U.S. face a pivotal
moment in opening a new era of peace, prosperity and security, and the two sides should not
let this opportunity go to waste.
And we also have learned that Kim Yong-chol is heading over to Washington,... something
that President Trump had mentioned as well.
Mind you, this senior North Korean official is someone who needed a travel waiver for
his trip to the U.S.,... as he is one of the North Korean officials on America's sanctions
list.
Yes Semin,... the U.S. placed sanctions on Kim in 2010 and again in 2015, for his alleged
role behind Pyongyang's nuclear development and other illicit activites, including the
sinking of a South Korean warship that killed 46 seamen eight years ago.
And according to State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert, Kim would need another waiver
to travel outside New York.
The city is the only place in the U.S. where North Korea has a diplomatic presence -- Pyongyang's
mission to the United Nations, so visa waivers for official visits are made relatively easier.
But we do not yet have the details of Kim's trip yet.
Now, about this letter Kim is likely to bring to Trump,...
The U.S. president, before flying to Texas on Thursday, said he expects the official
on Friday and that he is looking forward to seeing what's in the letter, which he believes
will be very positive.
But Trump also hinted on the high uncertainty of the meeting.
"I wanted to be meaningful.
It doesn't mean it gets all done at one meeting.
Maybe you have to have a second or third and maybe we'll have none.
But it's in good hands."
That's all from me for now, but I'll be back with more updates.

Official Royal Wedding Photos Released – But It's Prince George Who Immediately Steals
The Show.
Much of the world is still enjoying the afterglow of the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan
Markle on Saturday, especially since the official wedding photos are now out.
Everything is picture perfect, and as we might expect, it's Prince George and his sister
Princess Charlotte of Cambridge who steal the show.
The photos exude genuine happiness, and even Prince George is beaming.
Unlike his sister, he tends to be more camera shy and appeared tired at some points during
the wedding.
However, he was clearly warming up to the photographer in the official photos.
In this shot, the future king stand out, grinning from ear to ear.
The Page boys wore a scaled-down version of the Blues and Royals frockcoat worn by Prince
Harry and his best man, Prince William.
It was the first time George wore full-length trousers in public, breaking with long-standing
tradition for the Royals.
Kensington Palace says they chose not to include matching hats and white waist belts for practical
reasons.
The miniature uniforms had the initials of their wearer embroidered in gold on the shoulder
straps.
Princess Charlotte and the other bridesmaids wore monogrammed white leather Aquazurra shoes
given to them by Meghan for a keepsake.
She wore a crown of flowers and carried a bouquet that matched Meghan's arrangement.
Forget-me-not flowers were added since they were Princess Diana's favorite flower.
Charlotte turned heads as she showed off her well-practiced royal wave, upstaging her brother
in this department.
At one point, she used her gown as a tissue, proudly showed off her shoes, and stuck out
her tongue at the cameras, which is exactly what Prince Harry did when he was little.
Seeing the royal kids behaving like ordinary kids added much charm to the occasion.
And here is Prince Harry today: Of course, who can forget this page boy, who
photobombed Meghan's bridal picture and made millions laugh?

Lazio admit Milinkovic-Savic deserves CL football but insist no offers have been made - Duration: 3:15.
Lazio admit Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic deserves Champions League football but insist no offers have been made
LAZIO have admitted Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic deserves Champions League football.
The 23-year-old Serbian midfielders future has come under increasing scrutiny since Inter Milan nabbed fourth spot on Serie As final day.
But while Lazio sporting director Igli Tare claims he is open to selling at the right price, he insists no offers have been made.
Albanian Tare, 44, told Sky Sport Italia.
The failed Champions League qualification doesn't change things.
We know what we must do and must improve on.
We must put Simone Inzaghi in the condition to do well next season.
We're talking about a player who deserves this stage.
We don't want to talk about figures, the market isn't based on 'if' and 'maybe'.
At this moment, we have yet to receive an offer and when it arrives we'll decide what to do.
Milinkovic-Savic - who scored 14 goals for Lazio last season - is likely to cost more than Paul Pogbas then world-record switch.
Lazio owner Claudio Lotito explained: "I turned down €110 million (£95 million) for Milinkovic-Savic on August 29.
So I dont know how much he is worth now, but I can tell you €100 million isn't enough.
"I get angry when I read people call Lazio a supermarket. I've never put anyone up for sale.
In the past they wouldn't even knock on the door, clubs would just come and take, but now they have to ask for permission.".
United are believed to be keen on securing a move for the towering playmaker, whose agent Mateja Kezman won the Premier League with Jose Mourinho in 2005.
And with Milinkovic-Savic set to partner Nemanja Matic for Serbia at the World Cup, Old Trafford chiefs could have the inside track if they follow up their interest.
Mourinho is closing in on a deal for Brazilian ace Fred to replace Michael Carrick but has plenty more funds to build his squad.

Arturo Vidal rules out Chelsea transfer but leaves the door open for Manchester United
Arturo Vidal insists he will only leave Bayern Munich this summer for a club capable of challenging for the Champions League.
The 31-year-old moved to the Allianz Arena from Juventus three years ago and has played a prominent role in Bayern's continued dominance of the Bundesliga.
A knee injury ruled out Vidal out of the final two months of the season, however, and he is yet to agree terms on his current contract which is due to expire in just over a year's time.
Antonio Conte was determined to bring the midfield enforcer to Stamford Bridge last summer, while Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer the Chilean a £240,000-a-week deal as Jose Mourinho looks to add experience and physicality to his side to offset the impending departure of Marouane Fellaini.
After finishing fifth last season, Chelsea will compete in the Europa League next term and Vidal has no intention of signing for a club who cannot compete for the biggest titles.
At this moment everyone knows that I have one year left with Bayern, I am very calm, I know what I am worth, I know when I have to play important matches who I am and that is why there are so many offers when the market opens,' he said.
'This time I'm going to take it easy, my representative Fernando Felicevich is attentive to everything, I will try to rest and recover in the best way to see if I change equipment or not , be one hundred percent.
" 'If I change my team it's going to be for the better, to fight for the Champions League, win titles, fight for important things.'.

Media Ignored Hillary's Health, But Pushes INSANE Conspiracies About Melania's - Duration: 3:10.
You'll recall during the 2016 election, Hillary was coughing and collapsing all over
the campaign trail, and the fake news media never gave it a second thought.
As a matter of fact, the lying liberal media covered for her, explaining away her coughing
due to "allergies," and her collapsing because of extreme heat.
Now, this same media, is going berserk over Melania's health, after her minor kidney
surgery.
Fake news is turning a nothing-burger into "breaking news" claiming the FLOTUS hasn't
been seen in 20 days.
Our propaganda media is speculating that Melania is hiding away in New York, maybe writing
a book, or ready to flip on her husband and cooperate with Robert Mueller.
This is the same insane media, that accused anyone who even questioned Hillary's health
a "conspiracy theorist."
From Info Wars
While the media writes about conspiracies concerning Melania Trump's health, they
totally ignore multiple videos of Hillary Clinton tripping, collapsing and seemingly
wearing a back brace under a heavy coat and scarf in 90-degree weather.
Several mainstream media outlets covered the theories being pushed online after the White
House was silent on Melania's status for two weeks after her minor surgery.
CNN reported Wednesday, "Melania Trump has not been seen in public for 20 days now.
Her last appearance was on May 10, alongside President Donald Trump as he greeted three
American hostages returning from North Korea."
Some of the rumors for her "disappearance" are that she moved back to New York, that
she is writing a book about POTUS, or that she's cooperating with special counsel Robert
Mueller.
Melania addressed the issue and blasted the media for covering the allegations in a tweet
Wednesday.
I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing.
Rest assured, I'm here at the @WhiteHouse w my family, feeling great, & working hard
on behalf of children & the American people!
— Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) May 30, 2018
Meanwhile, the MSM calls anyone who questions Hillary Clinton's health a conspiracy theorist
despite several videos and pictures documenting her tripping and fainting in public.
In the last few weeks, Clinton has been seen wearing bulky coats and scarfs in summer weather
as an object some think is a back brace bulges out of her jacket.
Is Hillary Clinton wearing a back brace now?
Did she hurt herself AGAIN?

Don't Get Run-Out | A complete package of Running between the wickets | Nothing But Cricket - Duration: 12:11.
Hello viewers !! Welcome to NBC!!
Am gonna talk about running between the wickets in this video
the basics and tactics related to running between the wickets
And also am gonna say about how not to get runout in this video
This video will be a complete package regarding running between the wickets.. hope it's useful for you guys!
Before going into the video please do subscribe and also press the bell symbol to get notifications from NBC.
I'll start with types of calls used while batting
there are three types of calls in cricket.,, That is YES,NO and WAIT&SEE
these calls will help you to communicate with the other batsman who is along with you in the center.
the call YES is used when you are sure that there is run and when there is no possibility of getting runout
so that your partner can come for the run without any second thoughts
the call NO is used when the ball goes straight to the fielder and you are damn sure that there is no run
so that the non striker might immediately return back to his crease
the call WAIT&SEE is the most important call which is not actually used by most cricketers
very few cricketers use this call effectively
you have to use this when you hit the ball slightly left or right of a good fielder
coz you will not be sure whether the ball will get past him or not
if he fields the ball say NO following the wait and see call.. otherwise say yes and go for the run
use this call when you are not sure whether there is run or not.. and back up a little
if the ball is fielded then move back to the crease otherwise you can go for the run
Use these 3 calls for easy communication and to avoid confusion regarding running along with your partner
The second aspect you gotta consider is about where to hold the bat while running
Most people hold their bats close to the blade of the bat while taking runs
when you hold the bat close to the blade you will not have a complete reach to the crease
you are wasting almost 30 cms of your run which is crucial during close calls
so you should hold the bat at the end of the handles when you run
it'll help you to reach an extra 30cm distance..
so always remember to hold the bat at the end of the handles while taking run..
Third point is about non striker role
consider this as crease
when bowler starts his run up keep the bat inside the crease and you stay outside the crease
when the bowler hops at bowling crease
start moving towards the batsman away from the crease
if the ball is hit towards the bowler you have to be in a position to return back to your crease quickly
we do this to stay agile for quick singles
if you back up a bit and stay alert you'll be able to go for quick singles
if you stay still in your crease; the batsman will run along with the shot, so he'll be on his toes
whereas you'll be motionless till that moment and all of a sudden you can't pickup the pace and run
so always backup a bit when the bowler is doing his bowling stride
and if the ball is hit towards the bowler quickly get back into the crease
this will help you with quick singles
fourth aspect is about the common confusion between the striker and non striker, that who should call for run
it's a simple issue.. consider that you are in the batting crease
if you hit the ball in front of the batting crease then it's your call (striker's call)
or if the ball goes behind the batting crease then it is non-striker's call
this is the basics
whatever the situation may be, you should not watch the ball after hitting behind the stumps
instead you should check whether your non striker is calling for run or not
Most runouts happens in this scenario
so the basic is to watch the non striker and check for his call once you hit the ball behind the stumps
if he calls for a run you can run without hesitation
and if you play in front of the wicket then you are the in-charge of calling coz you'll have the clear sight
you should quickly notify the non striker by calling yes or no
so that your partner can respond accordingly
If you don't follow this basic then there is high possibility of run out happening
so just follow the basics and discuss this with your partner priorly
by this way you can avoid getting run out
next point is about the reaching side when you go for a run
If you are gonna play a coverdrive and reach the non striker end facing leg side then you won't have idea whether there is an extra run or not
now am standing here.. this is the crease.. am playing this side.. now the ball is on your side
if am gonna reach the non striker end facing the opposite side, I gotta turn myself and check for next run
which is difficult
if you are gonna play this side you have to switch the bat to the correct hand with which you'll reach the other end
so while running itself you should switch the bat to the correct hand
then you'll be reaching the other end facing the right side and turn quickly for next run
If you reach facing wrong side then you have to turn back and see for next run and loose some precious time
If i play this side my partner gotta come and reach here facing this side
and check whether there is next run or not
and call accordingly and go for next run
It's a simple thing which most people not aware of
so simply switch the bat to the correct hand with which you'll reach the other side
and be effective when running more than one run
the next point is about distant stretched reaching
while reaching the crease don't run upto the crease and reach the crease
instead stay away from the crease and stretch maximum and reach
you'll save an extra yard from running and you'll have to run comparitively less distance
we hold the bat here to reduce the running distance
so reach the crease by stretching maximum
and get ready for next run
the stretch is important
don't get close to the crease unnecessarily
there is no point in doing that
you should always focus on reducing the running distance so that you can
reduce run out opportunity and also play bigger innings without getting tired
while reaching the crease you should not just go place the bat inside the crease
while reaching the crease you should not just go place the bat inside the crease
coz when ball is thrown towards the stump there is a chance of bat being in air
so always when you are reach the crease please drag and reach the crease
this prevents the bat being in air and helps you reach safely
so all you gotta do is drag and reach the crease to avoid silly runouts
this is really safe.. so even if you are a quick runner dragging keeps you safe and prevents getting run out
I've said all basic things.. now let me demonstrate these techniques by running 3 runs
you'll be more clear after seeing that
No one is gonna bowl now, just an assumption.
am gonna play a cover drive and complete 3 runs
just check how I switch the bat..
and how I reach the crease by streching and dragging to get clear
let me just show how it's done
YES
Thanks for watching the video
I've said many points regarding running between the wickets in this video
One thing which is left is
If you feel that your partner's call is wrong
give a reply call with a LOUD tone
He might be a senior player or a player with immense potential
but that does'nt mean that you have to sacrifice your wicket
if the match situation demands it, then you can think about sacrificing
don't do it unnecessarily
If you have a negative reply to your non striker's call; then say it loud and clear without hesitation
whoever your partner may be
If you feel your call is right.. stand with your call and stay safe
there are some situations when you gotta sacrifice your wicket
you'll know it subconsciously
just take care of these little aspects
thanks for watching the video.. hope you guys got many take aways from this video
if so please do like my video
before leaving please do subscribe and also press the bell icon
so that you will get instantly notified whenever I post a video..
Thanks for watching !! keep supporting !!

Samantha Bee Apologizes To Ivanka, But White House Still Wants Her Fired - Duration: 4:05.
This week, Samantha Bee, the host of Full Frontal on TBS, came under fire for comments
that she made about Ivanka Trump. On a recent program, Samantha Bee was talking about the
fact that Ivanka Trump posted a picture with her child and how loving and wonderful that
was, while, at the same time, ignoring the fact that her father's policies on immigration
are to quite literally rip children out of the hands of their parents and then apparently
just lose them in the process. Samantha Bee referred to Ivanka Trump as a
"feckless c***." Now, Samantha Bee, once the uproar started, she came out. She issued
a video apology. She apologized on Twitter. She made it clear that she believes that she
screwed up, that she used inappropriate language, that it harmed people, and she was not happy
with herself. She apologized to everyone, said this is something that's not going to
happen again. Here's the thing. Even after that apology,
which actually did sound sincere, unlike Roseanne's apology, the White House ... Friday morning,
Donald Trump tweeted out the following. "Why aren't they firing no-talent Samantha Bee
for the horrible language used on her low-rating show, a total double standard, but that's
okay. We are winning and will be doing so for a long time to come."
Donald Trump is echoing what a lot of conservatives are out there saying right now, that Samantha
Bee should be fired for this vulgar language that she used to describe Ivanka Trump. Now,
I don't know if conservatives are aware of this or not, but there are actually plenty
of photos online that you could easily find. We've got some we can show, as well, of conservatives
wearing T-shirts referring to Hillary Clinton as a c***. T-shirts that say, "F*** your
feelings." Now these same people, who say, "I don't
care about your feelings," or "Hillary Clinton is" this horrible word, now they
act like they have the right to be outraged because somebody else on the other side of
the aisle used this language? Yeah, not how it works, not to mention the fact that Donald
Trump himself has invited people like Ted Nugent into the White House, who also referred
to Hillary Clinton as a c***, as has Roseanne Barr, but Ted Nugent also threatened to murder
Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and he gets an invite to the White House for his horrible
language. Where's the outrage there, folks? The Republican Party has a massive double
standard today that is just unbelievable hilarious, because they're incapable of looking at their
own side and seeing how disgusting they truly are. It's like these people have never walked
past a mirror to find out that they're the ones, in fact, covered in mud right now. The
reason that this whole crusade against Samantha Bee even started ... Again, it all goes back
to Roseanne being canceled, so these conservatives are mad that their white trash hero got her
show canceled, so they're doing everything in their power to get liberal hosts canceled,
as well. Not going to work with Samantha Bee. She did issue her apology. TBS has accepted
it. They have not shown any signs so far that she's going to be fired.
She's going to keep on doing what she does, because her voice is actually pretty vital
right now. She is out there, and yes she uses humor to do it, but she's actually telling
stories that the rest of the media's not even talking about. Yes, we do need Samantha Bee
out there. Personally, I have no problem with the language that she used, although I'm glad
she apologized. I know some people may have been offended, but okay, that happens. You
don't have to agree with the language somebody uses all the time, and I get that. Nonetheless,
Samantha Bee is a vital voice out there. She may have, in her opinion, used the wrong word
there, but when you're talking about a policy that is to rip children away from their parents
without ever knowing whether or not they'll see them again, I think harsh language is
fully justified.

All songs but only the 10 most used words - Eurovision 2018 - Duration: 6:38.
Well hello there and welcome back to "Chev's Choice".
I know I've been AWOL for a while now, but I was a little drained and uninspired after
the final in Lisbon to make a video, and I was kind of angry about all the discussions
of whether or not ESC 2019 should be in Israel or not, yadda yadda yadda.
They won, they should host, that's it.
But to brighten up the mood a little I thought, why not take a look at this year's lyrics
of all the english songs.
We often say, some lyrics are generic etc.
So why not compare them and see what the most used words are and what the songs would sound
like if all the other words are stripped away.
So within all the english songs this year, the most used words (besides I, you, we, etc.
that weren't counted in the tool i used) are: yeah, love, I'm, got, ain't, now,
don't, can, feel, just.
So of course most of them are just generally used verbs, but I love that "yeah" is
actually at the top of the list, and "love" on second place.
I mean that's Eurovision in a nutshell.
They should use that as their slogan next year "Yeah, love".
I think the tool didn't count the "oh"'s and "oooh"'s because they probably would
be in the top ten as well.
But now here are all the songs with only those ten words in alphabetical order.
Just a heads up: Australia that comes first consists largely out of those ten words and
is therefore with 45 seconds quite long, all the other songs became much much shorter,
just so you know that not all of them are so long.
So enjoy this video!
If you like it, give it a thumbs up, and of course I'm always happy when you subscribe
to my channel.
Also I'm thinking about making another Q&A video soon, so write me your questions here
or on twitter or instragram!
The questions can be about everything, not only eurovision, and they can be funny or
serious.
Whatever you want.
Now let's start the video. Enjoy

Unbreakable Wine Glasses | It's Cool, But Does It Really Work? - Duration: 5:53.
- But, it hasn't broken!
Hi it's Marisa. - And I'm Lauren.
We're testing inventions to see if they live up
to expectations.
- We're here to answer the most important question.
- It's cool. - But does it really work?
We're gonna break these wine glasses by any means necessary.
This is chaos.
Three, two, one.
What we have here are unbreakable wine glasses. Which I'm
obviously very excited about because wine. But what I'm
hesitant about, is will it actually work?
Like how can they be unbreakable?
What is it made out of?
- And what's the difference between just having an
unbreakable wine glass and literally drinking out of
a plastic cup.
- Which is what I do all the time.
Or a mug or something.
I was thinking like how often is it that you just like.
- In my opinion this product is made for moms who have kids
where their kids might knock things off the table or just
people who are naturally clumsy and still wanna drink wine
and look classy.
Oh, okay what it's made out of is is Tritan glass.
Tritan, am I saying that right?
- Tritan material.
- [Phone Voice] Tritan. (gasping)
- What was that?
Why is so sexual?
- Tritan. - Tritan.
This is how we do it.
- The packaging's really cute.
- It is.
Everything's nicely wrapped.
- But if it was away from me on a table and I went to go pick
it up I would expect it to be a real wine glass.
- Yeah 'cause I feel like it's all about looks.
- Yeah. - And practicality.
- Mhm.
- 'Cause it's just not supposed to break.
It'll do the job so.
- I'm excited though 'cause what wine glass can do this?
(chatter)
It's hard, I can't, it can bend in a little bit but it's not
- Breaking. - It's not breaking.
This is a normal plastic...
Cup. Broke pretty easily I'm not a very strong person.
I think these are going to work, they're not gonna break.
I can see myself throwing these into my bag
and not worrying about them.
Bringing them to the parks or outdoor concerts.
- I don't think they're gonna work.
I feel like everything's breakable.
So I just can see myself breaking it or smashing it with
a hammer.
We're gonna squeeze them to see if they're gonna break.
- We're gonna bang 'em on countertops.
- We're gonna grab a mallet and just smash it.
- Mallard, mallet, no mallard's a duck.
- The mallard.
We're gonna break these wine glasses by any means necessary.
- Yeah, but safety first. - Right.
Cheers. - Cheers.
(glasses clunking) (laughter)
(yelling)
- This is chaos.
I'm gonna break it, you see these biceps.
Three, two, one. (mallet pounding)
(laughter)
- I'm sorry is this unbreakable table, no.
(glass thudding) - Do it really hard.
- I'm just bouncing.
- What if you hold it and I hit it?
Three, two, one.
- Okay. (laughter)
- It did not break.
- I am surprised by that.
This could be a classy way to have flip cup.
Are we ready? - Let's do it.
- [Both] Okay down, up, down.
- And we flip it. (glasses clunking)
Okay almost. - Till we get this-keep going.
I mean I've never been good.
(gasps) No!
- You know you have to land it upside down right?
That wasn't working so we decided to kick it up a notch.
Marisa!
(yelling)
Oh my god did it didn't break?
- Oh my god.
- We were running out of ideas.
I'm not very strong. -You're the hulk.
That is crazy.
So we're twisting it after we bent it.
We're gonna se if it's gonna break off.
(gasps)
- It's not unbreakable.
- Okay we did everything in our power to break or destroy
these wine glasses.
And the verdict is they don't break.
- They don't break at all.
The only thing that we did we were able to twist
the stem off but that's only.
- After bending and twisting which is stuff you wouldn't
do to a normal wine glass at all.
- Right, exactly, but other than that like these two
only scuffs.
Nothing else.
- Yep there's a little scuff.
Just wash 'em off I feel like they'd be totally fine.
These are great to just throw in your bag,
not worry about them.
Bring them wherever you want to.
- And they will never break.
- So was this invention a total disaster
or a huge success?
- Or something in between?
Let us know in the comments.
- I'm a jerk, you're a jerk, I know you're a jerk.
(laughter)

Outgoing ICE director says separating parents and children is 'sad' but part of the job - Duration: 9:24.
JUDY WOODRUFF: We turn now to U.S. immigration policy and the agency tasked with enforcing
this country's laws, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.
Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan has served under six U.S. presidents.
His 30-plus years in immigration enforcement will come to an end when he retires at the
end of next month.
Thomas Homan, welcome to the "NewsHour."
THOMAS HOMAN, Acting Director, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement: Thank you.
Thanks for having me.
JUDY WOODRUFF: So, your first job was as a border agent.
You're familiar with this subject personally.
I want to start with the mission of ICE and to ask whether, under President Trump, it's
fair to say that it's no longer going after mainly those immigrants who have committed
serious crimes, but going after immigrants who are here without documentation, regardless
of age, whether they are parents, whether they hold down a job or what.
Is that accurate?
THOMAS HOMAN: No, that is not accurate.
I looked at the numbers just today.
Nine out of the 10 immigrants we arrested, we got through the criminal justice system.
JUDY WOODRUFF: And what percent of those are violent crimes?
THOMAS HOMAN: I don't have that number with me.
But, again, we have got to remember, though, I enforce immigration law.
There is no prerequisite that an illegal alien has to commit a criminal violation, on top
of entering the country illegally, which is a crime.
JUDY WOODRUFF: So, I want to ask you about incidents like this one.
I know you're familiar with this.
This was an incident in Los Angeles last year.
A man who was -- job was making tacos, he was arrested.
He was taking his two daughters to school.
The 14-year-old daughter recorded this video on her cell phone.
Here's what she recorded.
(CRYING)
WOMAN (through translator): Don't cry, honey.
Don't cry.
You have to be strong.
JUDY WOODRUFF: So, this was recorded, as we said, when her father was picked up.
I think the question that a number of people have is, how does it make the country safer
to have -- this is a man who was in the country without documents -- that's true -- had a
DUI record from 10 years previously.
But does it make the country safer to pick up people who have children?
THOMAS HOMAN: Absolutely.
I mean, bad people have children.
DUI, people might not think of as a serious crime, but 10,000 people a year -- over 10,000
people a year die from DUI.
Now, look, I see -- I see this all the time.
I have been doing this 33 years.
I see a lot of things that are sad.
And I have said many times I feel bad for the plight of some of these folks.
But I have a job to do.
If the message we want to keep sending to the rest of the world is, it's OK to enter
this country illegally and violate the laws of this country, as long as you successfully
hide out for 10 years, as long as you have a U.S. citizen child while you're here illegally
and hide out, now you're immune from law enforcement, now you're immune from the laws of this country,
if that's the message we want to continue sending, we're never going to fix the illegal
immigration crisis.
JUDY WOODRUFF: All this has added up, I think, what you're saying, and the message coming
out from the Trump administration, including from the president himself, has created, I
think it's fair to say, a charged atmosphere in immigrant communities around this country,
even at places that were considered safe, like courthouses, where immigrants go to check
in regularly.
Just last month in Tennessee, there was a -- what is it, a meatpacking plant.
Almost 100 employees were rounded up.
The next day, for example, at school, hundreds of schoolchildren didn't go to class because
of what had happened.
Is this the climate, a climate of fear, that ICE seeks to perpetrate around the country?
THOMAS HOMAN: Look, we're a sovereign country.
We have a right to protect our borders.
We have a right to enforce the law.
Let's talk about courthouse real quick.
Why is it bad for a federal law enforcement officer to arrest a criminal inside of a courthouse,
a criminal courthouse, OK?
They're behind a wire, which means we know they don't have weapons.
They went through a security check.
It's much safer for my officers, much safer for that person if we arrest them in a criminal
courthouse.
Now, I have been in courthouses where I watched judges ordered a father arrested because he
didn't pay child support.
That's OK.
But a federal law enforcement officer who is sworn to enforce immigration law can't
arrest a criminal inside a criminal courthouse?
That's exactly where we should be arresting them.
And we don't target victims or witnesses in the court.
We don't arrest them in the courtrooms.
We arrest them in a non-public area.
We work with the court personnel.
As far as work site, illegal employment is a magnet to illegal immigration.
And as long as folks think they come into this country and get a job illegally, they
are going to keep coming.
We have got to remove that magnet.
There are laws on that, too.
And I want to make one thing clear, because this is a constant question I get.
People that employ illegal aliens are not doing it out of the goodness of their heart.
They are paying them less wages, many times to take advantage of them, and they work them
very hard for a little bit of money.
It's an unfair advantage to their competitors.
And it's unfair.
Many of these workers steal Social Security numbers of U.S. citizens.
There is tax fraud.
There's people losing their identity, Social Security number being misused.
JUDY WOODRUFF: But in the case of this meatpacking plant, my understanding is, the owners were
not charged with any -- were not charged.
THOMAS HOMAN: That's a criminal investigation.
I can't comment on that.
But I can tell you that that investigation involved more than just illegal alien hiring.
JUDY WOODRUFF: There's another set of statistics that we have looked at.
Studies looked at large cities with higher immigrant populations.
They found the crime rate in these places remained stable or even fell.
There are separate studies showing communities with more undocumented, with a growing number
of undocumented immigrants equates often with a decrease in violent crime.
Do you see those studies, those statistics as well?
THOMAS HOMAN: No, I don't.
And they obviously aren't counting immigration crime.
Entering this country illegally is a crime.
If you are in this country illegally, you committed a crime by entering this country
illegally.
So, let's remember -- and that is a crime, federal crime.
But the question to ask isn't so much -- because I get asked all the time, do illegal aliens
commit more crimes than U.S. citizens?
That's not the question.
The question is, every crime committed by an illegal alien is a preventable crime that
shouldn't have happened because they shouldn't have been here.
So, we can prevent a lot of crimes by making sure we fix the immigration system.
And, look, I'm all for -- the system needs to be fixed.
I'm the first one to agree to that.
But the way -- but we can't just can't ignore it.
For Congress to say in the last -- under the last president, well, ignore this piece of
law and ignore that piece of the law, don't prioritize this, that's not the way a law
enforcement agency should operate.
If the law doesn't work, then fix the law.
Don't ask the law enforcement officer to ignore it.
No one asks the FBI to ignore their job.
No one asks the DEA to do their job.
We're no different.
JUDY WOODRUFF: This is not directly under your jurisdiction, Director Homan, but it
is part of how the Trump administration is choosing to enforce the law.
It is now separating children from their parents by the hundreds, more than 700 since last
October.
We're told more than 100 children under the age of 4.
Even conservatives, Congressman Mark Meadows, have been saying families should be kept together.
American Association of Pediatrics is saying it hurts these children, these vulnerable
children, to take them away.
How do you explain that approach, that policy?
THOMAS HOMAN: The message has been muddied.
Apparently, these people don't understand what exactly is happening.
If people really have a fear of persecution in their homeland, and they want to file for
asylum claims, they come to a port of entry, present themselves, which the law says they
have a right to file for asylum, but come to the port of entry, present yourself, make
your claim.
You're still going to get the same judicial process, but do it through the legal channels.
Don't enter between the port of entries.
If they really are escaping fear and persecution and looking for relief in this country, why
not come to a port of entry and turn yourself over to a law enforcement officer and say,
I want to file for asylum?
And you get to file asylum.
You're not taking your child across the river.
You're not taking them through a canyon where that child can be hurt or they could be hurt.
Do it the safe way.
This isn't just about enforcing the law.
See, that is the message that doesn't get out.
This is about saving lives and protecting these immigrants, too.
JUDY WOODRUFF: But, again, American Academy of Pediatrics, 66,000 pediatricians: "We urge
policy-makers to be mindful these are vulnerable, scared children.
To separate them from their family is harsh and counterproductive."
THOMAS HOMAN: Children get separated from parents every day in this country when their
parents are arrested for criminal violations.
Again, I have arrested violence for domestic violence back when I was a police officer.
I separated that father and that child.
It's unfortunate.
It's sad.
But a child certainly can't go to a county lockup with a father.
A child can't go into U.S. Marshals' custody with the parents being charged with a crime
or entering the country illegally.
Again, we have made it clear.
We have done numerous news broadcasts.
You have a right to claim asylum in this country, but go to a port of entry and present yourself.
You get the same protections, but you're not violating the law.
JUDY WOODRUFF: The secretary of homeland security, Kirstjen Nielsen, there's been a lot of reporting
about disagreements between her and President Trump, whether she is planning to leave.
Do you know about anything that?
THOMAS HOMAN: No.
Kirstjen Nielsen is a -- she's a good secretary.
She is stepping up to the plate.
She has a tough job.
Immigration enforcement is a very controversial, very emotional issue.
And it's been the entire 34 years I have been doing this.
But she's a good secretary, she's doing a good job, and I support her 100 percent.
JUDY WOODRUFF: Tom Homan, the director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency,
thank you very much.
THOMAS HOMAN: Thank you, ma'am.

WH:Trump not defending ROSEANNE But targeting MEDIA BIAS - Duration: 11:11.
and into you know what she said the double standard she referred to with the
firing of Roseanne and where were the apologies from Bob Iger and we'll talk
about the president's tweet where he's basically saying he doesn't want his
current Attorney General Jeff Sessions as Attorney General but Dana Bash and
David Chalian let me bring you both in because Dana you're a mom Sara Sanders
is a mom of three when that child in the back ask that question and I wit was
hard to hear but you got the sense of the question regarding school shootings
and how is the White House keeping me safe the that moment of humanity in that
briefing in Sarah Sanders having a tough time keeping it together
answering him yeah I mean it looked like it was going to potentially be a
light-hearted moment going to to a young reporter and he had the toughest
question in the room because of who he is he is a young person who said
basically I'm scared to go to school because I'm I don't want to get shot and
that's what what my friends feel and you know Sarah Sanders is you know it is as
you said a mom of three and I can't imagine it said of having to take that
question from a young person who is expressing the fear that frankly young
people around the country are feeling every single day unfortunately going to
do the most basic thing going to school now obviously there are and should be
criticisms of the inaction of this administration of this Congress that
allows a young person to to feel that way but in that moment for those thirty
seconds it was just a young kid and a person who was trying to to walk that
line between being a representative of a administration that has had no action
and somebody who sends her kids to school every day
yeah and Brooke the other thing in that moment that was yeah I understand the
political power of the Parkland kids and the movement they started that there is
you can see because the way Sarah Huckabee Sanders from that podium sort
of completely broke down the sort of artifice of the back-and-forth with
reporters it's a bit of a kabuki dance in Washington and and was in this moment
and responding emotionally to this kid that because he's representative of a
student community I thought we also got an example there
of why we've seen such political power in that Parkman movement yeah I'm on to
Rosen on to you know we've seen a tweet from the president will throw up on the
screen where he basically makes this about him and and doesn't say what
actually Sarah Sanders did say that her comments were inappropriate but then
saying it was a double standard went through all these different attacks Bob
Iger and folks at ABC have had on the President and on Christians and they're
saying well where where were the apologies you know from from Bob Iger
David what did you think I mean I thought this was a classic communication
strategy to redefine the conversation around this right the the White House is
not at all interested in talking about Roseanne Barr a key supporter of the
president and her racist tweet they want to make the conversation about a double
standard of the press and she went through a lid
she came completely prepared for this moment was reading from it and said
Jamel hill-hill Joy Behar Kathy Griffin and the hiring of Keith Olbermann tick
tick tick tick tick fully prepared defense here but make no bones about it
what they're trying to do is shift the conversation about a racist tweet from
Roseanne and ABC saying that goes beyond the pale to a conversation about a
double standard and and also not only was she so transparently trying to shift
the conversation there was a big omission there which is there was no
condemnation of what Roseanne Barr said even Roseanne Barr is condemning herself
for those for those comments I think the latest tweet we have from her is that
she's still defending she's saying she's not a racist and that it was still a bad
joke I believe yeah exactly exactly and what we heard from
the podium was Sarah Sanders say no one's defending these comments yeah
which may be true but the President of the United States who has the the
biggest loudest megaphone of anybody he's not condemning them either and that
speaks volumes Jim Acosta let me pip it over to you there in the briefing what
were you asking there at the end well I tried to ask where the president's
apologies for all the things that he has said over the years you know Sarah
Sanders was very careful to point out and turn it back around on the media and
asking you know why haven't certain personalities at various networks
apologized to the president for things that they've said but of course this is
a president who launched his campaign saying that Mexican immigrants are
rapists he has said over the years that you know when talking about African
American athletes and calling them sons of bitches you know talking about the
violence in Charlottesville saying that they're very fine people on both sides
obviously these were all comments that he's made over the years were people on
both sides of the aisle have been clamoring almost begging the President
to apologise for comments that he's made you know you only have to go to a Trump
campaign rally once in your life to hear the kind of hostility that he generates
on an almost daily basis and so it's a bit much I think for the White House
press secretary from the podium to come out here and try to shame the media and
say it's somehow our fault that Roseanne Barr put out this tweet the president
decided to weigh in on it one question that was not asked of Sarah Sanders by
the way was yesterday she said that the president has more important things to
do well of course sometimes there are not
more important things than the president's grudges that he feels that
he asked the nurse on a daily basis and that's why he posted that tweet earlier
this afternoon going after ABC you know he you know
just can't help himself Brooke and and that was indirect you know that was in
direct contrast to what Sarah Sanders told reporters yesterday at the
president other things to do and yet here he comes out today and starts
tweeting about Roseanne Barr it just gets to the the lack of seriousness it
forget about the fact Kim Kardashian is here at the White
House today and what planet that is anything resembling normal because it's
not she shouldn't be here talking about prison reform it's very
nice that she is here but that's not a serious thing to have happen to here at
the White House but but really that that pales in comparison that level of
seriousness pales in comparison to what the president does when he weighs in on
the Roseanne Barr tweet fails to condemn the racism at the heart of her remarks
and then having the White House press secretary coming out here and shaming
the media and blaming us you know for making all sorts of comments that need
apologies when they themselves oh the American people plenty of apologies for
the things that the president said over the years and of course we know past
being prologue with his president those apologies will likely not be forthcoming
Brooke let me ask you about something else because at the tip top she was
asked about trey Gowdy right the Republican House Oversight Chair who
said but he did totally debunking this whole conspiracy theory that's been
played and played and played by the president that a spy was planted right
to spy to spy on his his campaign and and what Sarah Sanders said is that
Trump still finds cause for concern you heard the reporter shouting well what's
the evidence yeah I didn't hear anything no and she said that the president
continues to have concerns about what the so-called informant or confidential
source was doing inside the Trump campaign and when it was pointed out to
him that trey gowdy a fellow Republican is now saying well the FBI the federal
investigators were just doing what federal investigators do their chasing
down these are trying to get to the bottom of whether there was battling
inside the 2016 election but Brooke one thing that we did not hear from the
podium today was any kind of evidence about this other thing that the
president tweeted yesterday morning that somehow the special counsels office is
going to be meddling in the upcoming midterm elections once again calling us
fake news spreading fake news themselves and not justifying or showing any kind
of evidence to back any of these claims up look Dana what do you think Dan would
thank you Jim dennah and then David what do you think about that Jim's last two
points yeah well first of all on the Trey Gaudi situation there I don't think
was any expectation that Sarah Sanders was gonna come out and say you know what
he's right he's got a point okay we're gonna move on to the next thing Spygate
wasn't really a thing i mean if there's just no way i mean she wouldn't be the
spokesperson tomorrow or even in five minutes if she did that having said that
the the fact that she didn't dwell on it spoke he spoke even more you know i mean
she said well we were so focusing on and i mean to me that was sort of reading
and speaking sort of the trump language that we've learned to speak for the last
almost three years that was as close as i think we were going to get from her to
kind of the blow off certainly not an acknowledgment but the
blow off because she tried to move on pretty fast but she did I agree with you
Donna but but she also said that that does not change our belief in that this
is still worthy of investigation so she also from the Trump playbook
took the you know rule of no retreat whatsoever exactly and so well yes she
didn't dwell on and she didn't come prepared with as long of a statement as
she did it trying to change the topic away from Roseanne Barr as racist tweet
to double standard in the media but I not only did she say that it's still
worthy to investigate what this informant was up to after trey Gowdy
blew to smithereens this whole baseless conspiracy theory
she also said he needs to be investigated as to more broadly how the
FBI has been conducting itself inappropriately in this investigation
mm-hmm David and Donna thank you thank you speaking of Roseanne moments ago a
new tweet from her saying that she is not a racist and that she has spent her
life fighting for civil rights details on that and the new statement from a
Disney executive about the decision to cancel her show
Plus stormy Daniels attorney says there may be tapes of conversations between
Michael Cohen and a lawyer who negotiated her hush money payments some
years ago and he wants them released we'll talk about what the implications
of that would be for President Trump
you

Klay Thompson is not the most famous Warrior, but he is among the most important - Duration: 17:25.
Football News24/7 Reggie Miller was asked on a radio interview recently which NBA player he would entrust to educate young players on shooting form
"Klay Thompson", he said without hesitation. There was no second thought to his response, a concept Thompson is familiar with when he catches a pass beyond the three-point line
A compliment from Miller to be sure, it only begins to exemplify what Thompson represents within a Golden State Warriors team working on acquiring dynasty credentials over the next fortnight
The NBA Finals is lending viewers a fourth consecutive contest between the Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, and it is worth noting that Thompson, the Warriors' silent assassin who can also defend an opponent's best perimeter player, has been as consistent in his two-way mastery as these two franchises have been in coming to blows in June
Honing his attributes on both ends of the floor, Thompson has worked himself into arguably a more important role than his trio of All-Star teammates
To be sure, that is not a miraculous rise given Thompson's size and talent landing in a situation like Oakland, but it is nonetheless a lofty achievement given he played his college basketball at Washington State as a point forward and was, stylistically, a different player in subtle ways
Thompson received the ball far earlier in actions than he does in the NBA, a league where he has mastered the art of effective scoring through limited dribbling
Before his professional days, he was far more likely to receive a catch on the first pass, often initiating a dribble to the basket or shot creation by way of ball handling, as opposed to savvy runs off of ball screens and fakes
Thompson is certainly capable of dribbling to the basket downhill, but struggles to escape in tiny windows when he has to spend longer than even he would want on the ball
His body profile, like most in college, was a much simpler straight up-and-down lanky version, and although it is often not presented this way, his athletic development should be praised given the situations Warriors head coach Steve Kerr places him in on defence and in an offensive system headed by sharpshooter Stephen Curry
To add, Thompson handled the ball more in college because of his position on the floor - not a traditional shooting guard - with the remit being to score rather than shoot, all the while noticeably slower doing it
His role had positives when making the transition to the next level. The up-and-under layup that Thompson often goes to from a corner drive is evident in college, as was his becoming familiar with finishing in contact, which was more likely because of his need to create more off the dribble
During his three seasons in college, Thompson was a two-time Pac-10 (now Pac-12) First Team selection while 733 points in his junior season were the most by a Cougar player ever
He has continued to produce such records in the NBA, once scoring 37 points in a single quarter, but the situational development is noticeable, made obvious given his surroundings on draft night
After three years in the northwest, Thompson was selected one place behind Jimmer Fredette in the 2011 Draft
Fredette, who holds dozens of scoring records for BYU including a 52-point game, bounced around the NBA and currently plays in China
Prior to the draft, a scouting report on nbadraft.net included the following about Thompson's weaknesses: Exploring Thompson's career to date, his biggest transformation has hence come at the highest level, within one of the most terrifying transition teams in history where speed and positional flexibility is essential
The latter point about foot speed is still accurate in parts, but Thompson is much quicker off the ball and has turned an offensive weakness into a skill by simply not dribbling unless forced to
Focusing his game has allowed Klay to get to his trigger spots and laser in on hitting threes, where he connected on a career-high 44% this season
When the Warriors lost this year, Thompson shot just 39% from that range. When they won, he hit over 45% of them
The laid-back Los Angeles native has only once failed to hit 200 threes in a season, his rookie campaign, and the further he gets from his college days, the more immediate he is at entering the passing lanes for what are today high-percentage shots
Thompson understands that a perimeter shot with a clean look at the basket is the scenario in which he poses most threat to the opposition, rather than putting the ball on the floor and convoluting the mass of playmakers Golden State already possesses
Thompson has an instinctive nature that enables him to turn from wing-stopper to three-point threat in less than three seconds, and has developed a perfect shot fake to compliment his similarly described shot, which accentuates his improved speed given defenders bite on it while running back toward their own basket
It is these skills which make him so dangerous, not just affecting game-to-game results but regarding the wider accomplishments of Golden State
Opposition players and fans know he is a very good shooter, but seem more likely to take the view that expects Curry and Kevin Durant to be the players who do not miss, and ultimately be the difference
Thompson is the quiet one - no mouth guards, no burner accounts on Twitter - who hangs out with his dog Rocco on an off day and strolled into road arenas with more success this season (147 made threes) than he did at Oracle Arena (137)
Thompson will not seek attention, but he puts games away nonetheless. His quick shooting trigger is where confidence in himself begins, and it will not end no matter how many he misses to begin a game
He attempts 24.4% of his shots between 16 feet and the three-point line, compared with just 5
4% between three and 10 feet. Thompson barely bothers with layups - 12.1% - if he has caught the ball with any amount of air space
Why dribble when you can make a shot from distance just as comfortably? This assuredness is as much Thompson understanding what he can and cannot do on the dribble as it is predicated on the system in which he exists
And other professionals have taken notice. "Effortless and pure" is how Chris Mayes, a shooting coach in Europe who has worked with Real Madrid's Jaycee Carroll, describes Thompson's shot
"One of the most beautiful actions, and always the same." You can trust his shot then, just as you can trust his defence
Thompson, standing at six foot and seven inches, has a long wingspan and a level-headedness that was made for good defensive instincts
Evidence of his high-quality defensive techniques can be found in the decisions that Kerr made in game seven in the Western Conference Finals against the Houston Rockets, playing Thompson despite his having four fouls early in the second half
Yes, it was a game seven, but his value is such that you have to play him when there is attached risk
Thompson remained on James Harden, then switched onto Eric Gordon, all-the-while gesturing toward the bench throughout the contest that his coaches should keep him in
It was classic Thompson, a 'trust me, I have got this' kind of message that is a microcosm of his rare but worth-waiting-for anecdotes, otherwise known as 'Klayisms'
A man who once yawned before knocking a dictaphone out of a reporter's hand when asked what it felt like to represent Team USA, it is not stated enough that Thompson's carefree character directly impacts a successful Warriors culture, one that for the first time faced questions about its identity and togetherness this season
Thompson's field goal attempts, three-point attempts and (as a result) points were all down this season, but he never unsettled the pack with a wayward comment or misstep
Curry is the initiator, Durant the scorer, Draymond Green the motivator. And Thompson is the leader of calm and quirky
Asked this week why the Warriors seemed so relaxed when facing double-digit deficits against the Rockets, Thompson said: "Because we know we can make an 11-point lead evaporate in about two minutes of good basketball
" Thompson is the definition of that obliteration, something the Warriors so often hand out to opponents in the third quarter of games after awakening from their slumber
During a stretch of play in the aforementioned fourth quarter against the Rockets, his all-around game was showcased
Thompson sped down the wing on a break, received a pass from Curry and instinctively knew Clint Capela was running back to block him
He faked to shoot, Capela went flying, and Thompson calmly but quickly made the three
He then ran back down court and picked up Eric Gordon, overcame a switch, used his body-on-body strength to bounce him away from making progress to the basket - he does this frequently - and when Gordon's pass found Trevor Ariza on the wing, Thompson zoomed to help Curry
When the ball returned to Gordon, Thompson recovered again and closed out, preventing a clean look and drawing a miss
That was all in the space of 20 seconds, a tiny window into his persistence and ability
Thompson's defensive strategy involves heavy ball denial, to the point where his opponent will oftentimes have to go back to the ball to get hold of it, Thompson almost hugging his man
He lifts both of his feet rapidly in defensive stance, conscious never to cross up his feet and remain as much as he can in front of an opponent
Former Warriors head coach Mark Jackson, who was instrumental for the Warriors in establishing their defensive philosophies, also told Thompson to 'be like Reggie', referring to the Hall of Famer Miller's constant movement off the ball
Kerr has preached that himself, telling Thompson that he is at his best when gravitating the defence, which ultimately gets he or others open
It is another skill that he has worked on since his Washington State days; running off screens, setting backdoor picks and high screens for ball handlers, trusting patience before getting his shots
He will cut hard to receive a pass, and flare out to the corner and relocate if it does not come his way, understanding that one cycle through the offence is not the end
Other times, he is simply a decoy. It is not just off the ball, either. Brooklyn Nets swingman Joe Harris, who faced the Warriors in the 2015 Finals with the Cavaliers and is someone who has become a good three-point shooter and defender himself, told GiveMeSport this week that the Nets' scouting report for the Warriors this season instructed defenders never to leave their box out of Thompson after a shot, because he is always a threat to relocate for a second attempt
That constant movement has helped build Thompson into one of the highest stamina players in the league, venturing through a tireless slalom that is only half the task he is entrusted with when adding in locking down, or at least limiting, highly-skilled opponents
During the upcoming Finals, Thompson will see time on J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver, Jeff Green and George Hill, even LeBron James when necessary
His on-ball defence allows Draymond Green to act as the quarterback behind the frontline, the lead communicator nearer the basket who in turn initiates Thompson's scrambling help defence, which can lead to turnovers and transition offence
Thompson, then, is a highly educated two-way player, knowledgeable enough to know that one breeds success in the other
His shot has been well-documented, a Splash Brother by trade, but he is as pure and drawn-up an asset as the Warriors need
"I do not care that I am talked about third or fourth", Thompson said during the Rockets series about Golden State's hierarchy
"I get paid handsomely, play in a great place in the Bay Area, and we compete for championships year in and year out
From day one I have been a Warrior, and I am thankful to be here because we have a good thing going
" While pundits almost always pay testament to the Warriors' other stars or their front office for smart drafting, Golden State's locker room understands that if Thompson plays up to his abilities, fully executing the skills he has either developed or acquired since his college days, they are even more unbeatable against these Cavaliers than the odds suggest

Much progress made with North Korea, but more work remains: Pompeo - Duration: 3:04.
Turning to another important gathering.
This one between key figures from Pyongyang and Washington.
Speaking to reporters after the session, Mike Pompeo expressed confidence that teams from
both sides... preparing for the historic summit are headed in the right direction.
The top diplomat also announced the visiting North Korean official will be meeting with
President Trump soon.
Lee Ji-won has more from the press briefing.
The two-day meeting between the vice-chairman of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party's Central
Committee, Kim Yong-chol, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in New York City came to
an end on Thursday.
After a working dinner the day before, the two began their official high-level talks
Thursday morning.
And at a press briefing in the afternoon, Pompeo said much progress was made not only
in his third round of talks with Kim, but also in meetings at the other venues, namely
Singapore and Panmunjom.
But he also said there remains a great deal of work to do, including convincing the North
that in fact its security is greater without nuclear weapons.
Pompeo also reiterated how he made clear to the regime numerous times that his, President
Trump's and the United States' objective is the complete, verifiable and irreversible
denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
He added that North Korea is also clearly aware of the brighter path Washington is ready
to help Pyongyang take... should it denuclearize.
And Secretary Pompeo said he has faith in the North Korean leader.
"It will take bold leadership from Chairman Kim Jong-un if we are able to seize this once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to change the course for the world.
President Trump and I believe Chairman Kim is the kind of leader who can make those kinds
of decisions."
Meanwhile, Pompeo announced that Kim will be heading to Washington to deliver to Trump
a personal letter from the North Korean leader.
Kim Yong-chol's visit to New York was made possible by a waiver he was granted... since
he's been the target of U.S. sanctions since 2010 for his role in Pyongyang's nuclear development
and other illicit activites.
Getting a waiver to New York is relatively easy, since the North has a mission there
to the United Nations, but according to State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert, he'll
need another one to go to Washington.
Meanwhile, the U.S. President says he's expecting the official on Friday and that he's looking
forward to seeing what's in the letter, which he believes will be very positive.
But Trump is still tempering expectations that the summit will be fruitful and even
that it'll happen at all.
"I wanted to be meaningful.
It doesn't mean it gets all done at one meeting.
Maybe you have to have a second or third and maybe we'll have none.
But it's in good hands."
Despite Trump's careful words,... there's a great deal of optimism about the possible
North Korea-U.S. summit, raised by the first visit to Washington by a senior North Korean
official in 18 years.
