Love this question, Maria.
Okay.
Maria asks, "Best way to answer, 'What have you been doing?"
She's been out of work since November, and she's been looking, but she just can't find
the right fit.
So, Maria, there's two or three ways to go about this, and you can kind of mix and match,
or you can choose one or the other, or whatever.
I realize that finding a job is not an easy process, so anybody who tells you, finding
a job is easy, is lying to you.
Flat out lying to you.
I don't care what your credentials are.
I don't care if you're a high flying executive, or you're somebody looking for your first
job.
It makes no difference.
Job searching is tough.
You got to brace yourself.
You might not find something in a couple of weeks, or a month, and I see that you've been
looking now for what's about six or seven months, and that's very possible that people
go through those stretches.
I as a hirer recognize that.
So, when I see somebody that I'm interviewing that hasn't been working for a few months,
or three months, or six months, I also would like to know, what they've been doing.
Really, all I'm looking for, is: have you been active?
Have you done something to try to move your search along?
If you were out of work for an extenuating situation, like, you had a sick parent, or
child, or you were ill, or whatever.
Or maybe you got let go at a bad time of year.
So, November's kind of a bad time of year.
There's not a ton of hiring in December.
Hiring starts to pick up in January.
I understand those things as a professional in that line of work.
So if you said to me, "Well, I was recently let go," or, "I've been out of work since
November, and I started to prepare for my job search, and then, I hit heavy in January.
I've been looking, but I just can't find the right fit.
I've been targeting organizations.
I've been going on interviews," or whatever it is, it would be nice to hear that you were
actively looking.
That's one route.
Another route is, and here, again, depending on your situation ... I mean, I know a lot
of people who are married, who never have time, but the husband and the wife, or the
partners, they work.
And when one of them has an opportunity, whether forced or unforced, to take some time off,
if they've been volunteering, or doing something active, or contributing, and being active,
I'm cool with that, too.
So, I don't know what you've been doing, but if I hear in an interview, "Hey, I've been
volunteering and doing these things, I've been taking some time, because I've never
have had a chance to have any time off, and my kids are young," or whatever, kind of work
that into the story.
I like the transparency.
I mean, I hope you guys, and I know, some of you are here, week in and week out.
And I tell you stuff, because I want you to know, I struggle, just like you struggle,
and I try stuff, and it doesn't work.
And I throw things around, and I break them, and you know what?
Life is never super clean, not for anybody, so I just like the honesty in the story.
That's what warms me up, and makes the connection with me.
And I think, just think about, what it is you've been doing, and then think about how
you want to share that.
But all of that stuff is cool.
To be out of work for six months is, while, for you, I know every day that goes by, that's
painful.
But, to me, as a professional, I know that that happens.
And so, I just want to know that you've been trying.
And you could even say, "I tried some things, didn't work, and then, I figured this out,
and now, I'm having better traction."
Let's be honest.
You're in an interview, if they're asking you that question, so you did something right.
So I hope that helps.

FACE REVEAL!!! Q&A +50K SPECIAL (audio is terrible, my voice IS SO LOW) - Duration: 14:15.
here is pretty good
I said I wouldn't do another vid-
another take
but I changed my mind because
my eyes are hurting as hell for recording with no glasses
and although these are horrible
it's the only alternative that I have right now
well, they are not ugly but they don't fit with my style so...
it's a bit different
I'll thank all the people that asked me questions because
thanks to them I have...
a lot of content, okay, but I've chosen the most outstanding ones
the ones that you've repeated more times
so...if there's any question that I haven't answered
I may be doing another video someday but...
at first I'd try to answer them on comments
the first question is how long have you been drawing
I've been drawing all my life because...well
my mother has always conveyed me
all that about how creativity is important
so...
I don't know
those typical drawings that you were drawn when you were younger
about drawing your family and...
depending on how you situated all the members
it reflected the relationships you saw in your family
this type of drawings where someone attempts to understand
your thoughts by
the way you interpret some image
well, I was involved in that practice
for a long period
but then I realized that I really liked drawing
and that was what I continued doing
what do you like the most about drawing
honestly, I really like the fact
that you can capture any idea you have
I don't know, it's something amazing
the fact that you can take the imagination to a completely different level
obviously
I didn't get the same result I get now
and still I believe that it can be way better
but actually it's something very satisfying
to be able to draw an idea
and go from something abstract to something real
what inspired you to start drawing and keeps inspiring you nowadays
well, as I've said before
start to draw since my young age
inspired me but
right now what inspires me it's having ambitions and motivation
watching other artists because they have an incredible level
that I'd like to reach
and...
actually the motivation is
what boosts the artists to
at least in my case
a hugo motivation helps to improve
what gender do you identify with
honestly, genders suck
biologically I'm female but
I don't care
about the pronouns you use with me
how long does it take you to make a drawing or an animation
if we talk about drawing
a sketch or something simple
if you are so inspired and you want to make a fast skecth
it can take me an hour, hour and a half
if it's a bit more serious, coloured... I can spend a day drawing
but if it's a commission it takes me days, especially the correction
it's not as hard finishing a drawing
as correcting lines
colours, lightning...
and well, in regard to animation
it depends on the level of animation
because if it's something dense and so animated
I can spend more than a month doing it
but if it's something with little frames
a week?
more or less
it's starting to be noticeable the light change and it's bothering me a lot
fucc
what country do you live and where are you from
nowadays i live in Spain
but I was born
in Ukraine and my family is from Russia
do you have any siblings
yes
I have an older brother, two younger ones
and a little sister who is 3 years old
when did you start with the animation
well...I started a little time ago?
I started in December of 2017
because I saw
an animation of Pompadorkery
that inspired me a lot and I wanted to make something like that
that's why my first animation looks so alike to theirs
and well
I liked it so much
that I continued watching other animators
and well
I discovered a lot of different styles
and I wanted to continue working on it
so
that's it, I guess
I don't know what I'm saying, I keep repeating myself
I continued animating since that moment
at first I was afraid that
just a few people would see me because I created a Youtube channel a long time ago
and right now
having it for some years
I think it has 10 subs
so I was afraid it would be the same this time
I said "I will work on an animation"
"I'll post it and no one would see it"
I'm super impressed because of the feedback
and that now I'm already at +50k subscribers
that was something unthinkable when i started
and for real, I'm super thankful
and no way I could imagine that I would get here
again, thank you, because...this is incredible
digital or traditional art? what's more difficult?
I like more the traditional art because it's more comfortable
and it reflects better
my drawing style
but if we talk about difficulty
I would say traditional too because as you can't...
select and go back
the only alternative is to restart
or leave blots
moreover, colours are also more difficult to find
so yeah, traditional is harder
do you read any BL?
yes, I read...
19 days, I liked it a lot
and At the End of the Road
I also finished Never Understand
and I loved the three of them. I reccommend them a lot
how do you solve art block
art block is so common in artists
all of them go through it sometimes
and some of them more...
some of them have art block more often than others
but it's not bad
it's just something that suggest you to take a rest
get some references or inspiration from other artists
you can watch other videos, drawings
or what helps me a lot is take references
although it ends up in a completely different drawing
take a reference helps a lot to
to have an idea
an when you have art block it's so reccommendable
what anime do you watch?
I'm watching Boku no Hero Academia the third season
and it has me with so much hype
but in general my favourite anime are
Fullmetal Alchemist,
Death Note, Nanatsu no Taizai, Steins;Gate
Tiger&Bunny and Prison School
Although I don't like the ecchi
Prison School has a good plot and I really like the role
of the ecchi there so...
that anime is on my favourites
in a scale from 0 to 69 hpw gay are you?
NEXT!
the next questions says...
what artists do you admire?
magnificent artists
with a magnificent level
that are so worth checking out
please, check out every one of them
they are so great, for real
how did you find your art style?
I think people can find their art style watching...
from a lot of references and a lot of artists
what makes them feel more comfortable drawing
more or less that's where they start giving it some shape
until they find their own style
thst's how I found mine
here I am
do you come up with a backstory first or do you design your characters directly
both at the same time, more or less
at first I think a bit about the story
a context, a situation
and if I have no design for a character
I'm not inspired to continue writting their story
so...
to create a character there must be a bit of story too
which is your favourite yaoi?
it's considered a shonen-ai
but I love No.6
because it has a bit from all genres
action, romance
and
I love how the relationshìp between the characters is developed
so I'd say No.6
what songs inspire you?
I love sad and slow songs ///emo vibes
because they help me a lot to
to think
and get inspired
for all the stories and to draw. I love it.
what do you use to draw?
I draw with this
It's a Wacom tablet
it's called Inuos Manga
and it works pretty well
it's a cheap one, pretty simple
and for programs...
to draw I use Paint Tool SAI 2
I started to use it recently
it's way better
it has new brushes
and you can make gradients
perspectives, it has a rule...
to draw circles or lines, parallels
so it's spot on
to make animations
I think it's not the better way
because I saw animators using Flash
or Photoshop
it works pretty well and I thinks it's easier to use
but for me, I use
SAI to draw frames
and then I put it all together on
Adobe After Effects
and from there I animate it
I think it' a pain compared to other methods
I don't know
animation is just a hobby or do you have bigger plans for the future?
it's not just a hobby
I'd love to work for big companies such as Marvel
or Dreamworks
I'd love to work on
3D animation
or animating video games
that's one of my biggest ambitions
will you translate your Wattpad story to English?
yes
what's more, there are only 2-3 chapters left
to finish writing the story
and I plan translating it to English
and illustrate it
I'd love to illustrate the story and well
and release a physical book. It would be super cool.
but it will take a time
what are your favourite animation memes?
my favourites...
Bang Bang
Time Lapse, Kissing Strangers
Forget
and...
there was one more
I'm the man
I like that one so much
I have the same issue making an intro as to make an outro
can I cut it here and done?
POP. I love you guys.

Hailey Baldwin's Celebrity Crush Isn't Justin Bieber Or Shawn Mendes, So I'm Confused - Duration: 6:53.
Hailey Baldwin's Celebrity Crush Isn't Justin Bieber Or Shawn Mendes, So I'm Confused
Well, color me confused.
Hailey Baldwin has been making some waves in the media with recent developments in her love life.
First, it was Shawn Mendes, then it was Justin Bieber, and now.
well, now, she's talking about setting her sights on an entirely different celeb.
But Hailey Baldwin's celebrity crush isn't someone you'd initially expect, mainly because he's about nearly double her age and, oh yeah, married.
But before we start making our way onto the speculation train, let's all just chill out for a moment, because clearly, it was all in good fun.
The 21-year-old model was featured on LOVE magazine's #LOVEFM radio call-in show via Instagram, where she wore her hair in a full-on '80s crimp, a power-suit blazer, and the most fabulously oversized glasses the world has ever seen.
She's absolutely having fun with this interview, twirling the chord on what looks to be a house phone, and playing with her crimpy locks.
When asked who her celebrity crush is, she said, "My celebrity crush, has to be.
Ryan Gosling!". Girl, same.
But in case you didn't know (or are desperately trying to forget), Ryan Gosling is married to actress Eva Mendes and have two children together, so I'm *thinking* that he's pretty unattainable — for Hailey Baldwin, and for the rest of the female species.
Sorry, ladies.
The reporter then asked Baldwin, "Ooh, what do you think you're going to be doing with him? He's married!".
"Umm, I don't know, maybe like, just sit around," Baldwin jokingly responded.
"Just stare into each others eyes and fall in love.".
I actually can't argue with this statement at all.
I mean:.
I'd literally want to do the exact same thing with Ryan Gosling.
Hi, gorgeous!.
But we of course know that Hailey Baldwin was just talking about a crush and not someone she's actually setting out to date (I hope).
You can watch the interview and obsess over Baldwin's iconic ~lewk~ in the clip below:.
And for those of you who think that Hailey Baldwin and Shawn Mendes might still have a shot at dating, I'm here to burst your bubble.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Hailey Baldwin deleted all the photos of Shawn Mendes from her Instagram, sparking many fans to wonder whether this is confirmation that they did in fact date at some point (which both vehemently deny), and if Justin Bieber was the mastermind behind Baldwin deleting the photos, since now Baldwin and Bieber seem to be stirring up some romance.
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were both spottedkissing on Saturday, June 16, during a trip to New York City, so fans are putting two and two together, assuming that Justin Bieber's jealousy is what caused Hailey Baldwin to crop out and delete all photos of Mendes on her Insta.
While neither Bieber nor Baldwin have confirmed that they are dating, Baldwin did open up in her interview with The Times UK in May, where she talked about it took "quite some time" for her and Bieber to be back in a good place together.
She said,.
Justin and I were friends for a long time.
I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends.
Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you're 18, 19.
It was what it was.
We went through a long period of time when we weren't friends.
We didn't speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on.
We've moved past that.
I'm pretty much here for anything that Hailey Baldwin wants to do.
Do some heavy Instagram re-organizing? OK, cool.
Date Justin Bieber? Sure, why not? Stare longingly into Ryan Gosling's eyes? Honey, if you can do it, do it.
I'll just be here living vicariously through you.

What Will Happen In The Next God Of War? - Duration: 6:17.
2018 has been a big year for video games so far.
But perhaps the most groundbreaking title to hit our consoles so far is the latest installment
in the God of War franchise, simply titled God of War.
Released on April 20th of this year, the game is the 8th in the franchise which has been
previously praised and criticized by fans and critics alike.
Its world has been diverse and immersive.
Kratos, it's protagonist, has been called two dimensional, with his goal for vengeance
becoming well-worn as the series progressed.
But, thanks to this title, that latter thought has been thrown out the window, as players
got a revitalized vision with this new game, making Kratos into the complex protagonist
we always knew he could be.
Now diving into Norse mythology instead of Greek (considering Kratos killed pretty much
all the gods from that lore), God of War explores Kratos' journey with his young song as they
fulfill a promise to his now deceased wife, and Atreus' mother, spreading her ashes
at the highest peak of the nine realms.
A new take on the hack and slash genre, this title incorporated more RPG elements and was
praised not only for its narrative, but it's graphics, art direction, characters and combat
system.
But it's ending left players wondering what will happen next.
Warning time – there's a whole lot of spoilers from here on out.
If you haven't already played the game, we highly suggest you do that before watching
this video.
So, a bit of a recap for everyone.
We find out that Baldur, the aggressive god who cannot die and attacked Kratos at the
start of the game, is actually the son of the Witch of the Woods, who is Freya.
She's the one who set the spell on Baldur, which breaks when Atreus shoots him with his
mistletoe arrow, and he's finally defeated.
Kratos gives him an opportunity to retreat, but instead, he tries to strangle Freya, causing
Kratos to kill him.
Freya swears revenge on Kratos and taunts him about the thing he's been hiding from
his son; his true god nature.
Freya leaves with Baldur's corpse.
We then find out that Faye, Kratos' wife, and Atreus' mother, was a giant who decided
to stay behind in Midgard, which means that Atreus not only has a good lineage but that
he's a hybrid of god, mortal and giant.
They also learn that Baldur was after Faye this whole time and that Faye had named the
boy Loki initially; this was all depicted on a temple mural, implying that this is why
Faye wanted them to spread her ashes up there.
The end of the game also reveals that Ragnarok is soon to come.
There's also a secret ending that depicts Kratos and Atreus returning home, with Atreus
having a vision that Thor will soon confront them.
So, with all that in mind, what's next for God of War?
Well, there's a number of important points that could further the story.
For starters, Atreus is Loki.
Loki is the god of mischief; something those who know a thing or two about Norse mythology
would recognize.
Or those who have watched a Marvel movie, really.
According to the mythology, Loki is a cunning trickster who has the ability to change his
sex and his shape at will.
His father was a giant and was sometimes represented as a companion to the gods and an enemy.
Loki is responsible for the death of Balder, aka Baldur, which ends his positive relationship
with the Norse gods.
So, it's without a doubt that this will somehow play into the next God of War game.
The God of War series does take creative liberties so it wouldn't be surprising if there's
some sort of play on the God's dislike of Loki, or other parts of his story.
Atreus's heritage as a giant should also prove interesting.
We also got a glimpse of what Odin and his war with the giants entailed.
While atop the mountain in Jotunheim, we see a slew of giant's corpses.
The giants are a threat to the gods, and while many speculate we'll dive deeper into the
lore behind this war, it's important to remember that it's very likely some giants
may have escaped, just like Faye did.
Plus, one descendant of the giants is very much alive, in the form of Atreus.
Another theory has emerged that the relationship between Loki and his son, Jormungandr, aka
the world serpent, will come into play.
In Norse mythology, the world serpent is Loki's child.
And in addition to that, others have speculated that the subsequent games will set up the
foundations for Atreus to eventually take on the role of the protagonist in future God
of War games, considering Santa Monica Studio has exhibited that they're willing to make
big changes to the franchise in order to craft the best story and game possible.
Another massive point that will surely be touched on in the next game is Ragnarok.
The end of God of War triggered Ragnarok, which is essentially the Norse apocalypse.
When Baldur was killed, it signaled a winter that will last for two summers, and after,
Ragnarok will occur.
It wasn't supposed to happen for another 100 years, but the actions of Kratos and Atreus
have jump started it, making it imminent.
Perhaps the most intriguing story point that the game itself teased is that Thor is a-coming.
That secret ending depicts Kratos and Atreus falling into a slumber, and they awake years
later to find Thor standing outside their home.
Baldur was Thor's brother, and in the duration of the game, you also kill off both of Thor's
sons, so needless to say, the god of Thunder has got a bone to pick.
I guess tearing down that statue of him probably didn't help matters much, either.
The scene ends with us seeing Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, light up with lightning, so he's
definitely not there for a friendly visit.
Kotaku has confirmed with director Cory Barlog that this confrontation with Thor won't
occur during a DLC since he's not a big fan.
Speaking of gods, in classic God of War nature, it's likely we won't get our big battle
with Odin until the third game; because hey, let's be honest, that's gonna happen.
God of War 3 featured Kratos finally killing Zeus, so it seems likely that we'll probably
get the big final showdown with Odin, not in the sequel, but the one after it, and the
conflict between the two will likely have some tie to Atreus.
What else?
Another worthwhile point to consider is that Freya is still kicking around.
She ain't the biggest fan of Kratos.
When Baldur goes to kill his mother for taking away his ability to feel pain, something he
carries a grudge about, Kratos intervenes and snaps his neck.
Freya, despite her son's final intentions, is furious, and she vows revenge.
We can surely expect her to appear in the next game, and perhaps will somehow give the
Norse gods some sort of advantage when it comes to undermining our favorite dad and
son duo.
In addition to this, the game included symbols from other mythologies.
In Tyr's vault, there was a wall panel that featured the Egyptian Eye of Horus, the Greek
Omega aka the familiar god of war symbol, the Japanese symbol if Hachiman, and the Celtic
triskelion.
While it's already been announced that the sequel will continue exploring the Norse mythology,
down the road, Barlog has stated that the universe of the God of War games has a geography
that separates the cultural mythologies.
Barlog has also stated that he has more material mapped out for the continuation of the God
of War franchise, but without any concrete plans for a slew of additional titles.
Still, there's a lot to get excited over!

The Best Air Jordans of 2018... So Far - Duration: 3:35.
What's up everybody, for Complex News, I'm Pierce Simpson.
It's that time of the year again when we're halfway to December and it's time to countdown
all the best things we've seen so far.
This time, we're talking about one of the most nostalgic and embroiled sneaker brands
out right now ---- Jordan Brand.
Remember the days when anything with a Jumpman would be the biggest sneaker release that
weekend?
Times have changed, but Jordan Brand is still churning out hits and the past few months
have showed that the brand is back on the right track.
Building off of 2017 where we saw Virgil Abloh remix the Air Jordan 1 for the unanimous sneaker
of the year, it's been more of the same in 2018.
This year's seen Jordan work with Levi's, Travis Scott, and go on to re-release some
its most sought after shoes of all time.
With that said, let's get into the ranking.
#5
Air Jordan 1 "Satin Shattered Backboard"
The ladies got one of the best Air Jordans this year.
There's often a complaint that sneaker brands don't do enough for female consumers outside
of taking popular models and making them in pink and in smaller sizes.
Jordan Brand flipped the script on all of that this year and gave the ladies one of
the best sneakers so far.
They took the Shattered Backboard colorway, which first released in 2015, and gave it
a satin makeover.
We've seen the satin finish applied to the bred and royal colorways in the past, but
they've all been super limited.
This time around, the sneakers saw a wider release but still flew off shelves.
Dudes tried to squeeze their feet in them, but, for once, the ladies were looking flyer
than the fellas.
#4
Travis Scott x Air Jordan IV
Travis Scott got his own Air Jordan sneaker this year.
Usually you'd have to say no more.
It wasn't his first collaboration with the brand, working on a Trunner last year for
his Cactus Jack label, as well as several variations of the Air Force 1, which first
dropped at ComplexCon.
But the Air Jordan 4 might be his best work in the sneaker world to date.
It was done up in a light blue, white , and red colorway to represent Scott's old hometown
team, the Houston Oilers.
That bit of nostalgia was the perfect play for Jordan Brand to tell Travis's story.
Word is there are more colorways on the way, too.
#3
Off-White x Air Jordan 1
The best sneaker of 2017, hands down, was the Off-White x Air Jordan 1.
Virgil Abloh and Jordan Brand didn't stop there and have released two pairs of the sneaker
this year: One in actual off-white colorway and the other in the colors of MJ's alma
mater, UNC.
The first pair was was a European exclusive when it first dropped and gained a ton of
hype, while the white and blue pair has some wondering if Jordan Brand is doing too much
with Abloh.
All of that aside, any time he drops a collaboration with Nike or Jordan, it's gonna sell.
#2
Levi's x Air Jordan IV
The first time Jordan Brand collaborated with Levi's was in 2008 on an Air Jordan 1 Mid
that came with randomly sized denim.
It was an odd concept at the time, but flash forward a decade and the two companies, both
legends in their own right, finally got the project down the right way.
Jordan Brand dressed the Air Jordan 4 up in raw denim, gave it a gum sole, leather patch
on the tongue, and even a red tab.
That might be one of the most thoughtful details on any shoe this year.
You can wear the shoes in the good old-fashioned way and see the denim distress, but some people
also tore theirs up or hit them with bleach.
Either way, actually getting them was the real challenge this year.
#1
Air Jordan III "Black/Cement"
Let's take it back to the 1988 All-Star Game for a minute, where Michael Jordan wore
the Air Jordan III.
He might be more famous for wearing the white/cement pair during the Dunk Contest, but he also
broke out the black pair in the actual game.
With its Nike Air on the back, it's one of the most classic Air Jordans of all time.
But Jordan Brand hadn't released the shoe in its true form since 2001.
So people have been waiting for 17 years for this shoe.
And they bought them right up.
You couldn't go anywhere this year without seeing a pair of Black/Cement IIIs.
Sometimes some sneakers are so good that it doesn't matter if everyone wears them, just
as long as everyone gets their pair.

The Most Hyped Items of 2018... So Far - Duration: 5:32.
Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Pierce Simpson.
When it comes to style, there really is no formula to guarantee whether an item will
pop off or not.
However you can't deny that there are some brands and designers who can do no wrong in
the eyes of in-the-know consumers, and their items always seem to sell out the second they
hit the shelves.
That being said 2018 has had some collections and special limited-edition collaborations
that people could not wait to get their hands on.
Whether the high demand came from resale value or a celebrity co-sign, here are 10 of the
most hyped items of 2018 so far.
10.
Supreme x Rimowa Suitcases
You couldn't scroll through Instagram without seeing these Supreme x
Rimowa suitcases.
A decade after their collaboration with BAPE, Rimowa
continued to tap in to streetwear and collaborated with
Supreme.
Rimowa's signature roller luggage was remixed with Supreme's unmistakeable branding in a
total of 4 iterations.
The Topas Multiwheel suitcase in a carry-on 45L
size and a larger 82L size, both of which were available in black
and red.
To no surprise, the collab sold out in under a minute.
While the original price tag was between $1,600 to $1,800, these
suitcases are now going for over $6,000.
9.
Polo Snow Beach Re-Release
Polo re-released its iconic Snow Beach collection earlier this year to mark the original
collection's 25th anniversary.
While some questioned Polo's intentions with the re-release, there's no denying it put
the brand back in the conversation.
The line included a red Snow Beach vest, a Snow Beach bucket hat, and a Cold Wave fitted
cap, as well as newer pieces in black and white like Snow Beach rugby,
poncho, backpack, waist pack, and sneakers.
But the biggest draw was the Snow Beach pullover which had OG Polo
lovers and resellers clamoring to cop it.
8.
Sean Wotherspoon's Air Max 1/97
Look through any sneakerhead's closet and you'll probably find
Sean Wotherspoon's Air Max 1/97.
It goes without saying that Wotherspoon's influence has stretched beyond
his Round Two Stores.
However it seems Sean reached another level when with this Air Max 1/97.
The colorful sneaker, inspired by his love for vintage Nike caps
from the 80's, infused a corduroy Air Max 97 upper with a
cream midsole from the Air Max 1—two of Wotherspoon's favorite Air
Max models.
Fans made his design the winner of Nike's Vote Forward
contest for Air Max Day 2017 and is easily this year's most popular
sneaker.
7.
Fear of God Satin Coaches Jacket
From Kendrick Lamar, JAY-Z, and Michael B. Jordan to Odell Beckham Jr.
and Quavo, the Fear of God Satin Coaches Jacket had celebrity co-sign
written all over it, quite literally.
The black, letterman style jackets were inspired by Jerry Lorenzo's love
of baseball, and they gained popularity by VIP clients customizing their names on the
back.
One of the most recognized iterations of the design was Michael B.
Jordan's custom Killmonger jacket that paid homage to his character on
Black Panther.
Colin Kaeperinick also rocked his own custom jacket for
his feature as GQ's Citizen of the Year.
The customizable jackets became so in-demand that Fear of God made
them available to the public.
6.
Off-White x Converse Chuck 70
By now we know, anything Virgil Abloh touches is gold and his Midas
abilities were no exception for "The Ten" collection with Nike.
From it we got Virgil's interpretations of the
Air Jordan 1 and Air Presto but ironically the collection only featured
9 sneakers.
What happened with the tenth?
Well the Converse Chuck 70 was a translucent take on
the classic sneaker however the release was delayed last minute due to
final design tweaks that were made to the retail version which looking
back probably played a huge role into this sneakers hype.
In May the shoe made its debut on the market and like
all of Virgil's othercreations with Nike, it sold out in seconds.
5.
Rihanna's Savage x Fenty Lingerie Collection
Rihanna definitely knows a thing or two about evolving her Fenty brand, which officially
launched in 2017, into a full blown beauty and style empire.
In April she announced the launch of a lingerie line, which she promoted by posting a video
of models in pink lingerie as the words "Savage X Fenty" flashed across the screen.
A month later, nearly every item from the line was sold out, in fact the night of the
launch the queue to access the website was a solid three hour wait.
Just goes to show people will do just about anything to get a piece of Rihanna's swag
and honestly, can you blame them?
4.
Supreme's Stern Pinball Machine
Nothing says baller status like spending 10 thousand dollars on a pinball machine, which
is just about the price of Supreme's take on the nostalgic game of entertainment.
Hysteria ensued when the brand announced it was released a full size, arcade-quality Stern
pinball machine.
And even though it was priced at $9,600 all 100 models sold out.
They are now going for the resale price of $80,000.
3.
AWGE x Needles Tracksuit
The AWGE x Needles tracksuit is another example of the power of a celebrity co-sign.
ASAP Rocky, Luka Sabbat, and the No Vacancy Inn guys all gave the stamp of approval and
since then stores could not keep Needles' track pants in stock.
So it only made sense that Rocky would do a collaboration with the brand himself, creating
a track pant and track jacket.
The collab released in March and it included matching blue, pink, and green track pants
and jackets, as well as black/white lurex and black/yellow pants.
After selling out around the world, tracksuits are now being resold for more than double
the retail.
2.
KAWS Pink BFF
It doesn't matter if its his limitied Air Jordan IV collabs, his affordable collections
with Uniqulo, collectable toys, or giant sculptures, KAWS is always bound to draw a lot of attention.
His playful BFF characters with X-ed out eyes are no different so when KAWS announced he
was releasing a pink version of his BFF character on his website it became the most sought after
piece.
The toy, which stands at 13 inches, was available for $250 and sold out quickly.
Black and blue BFFs re-released as well, but the special edition pink was what everyone
was dying to get their hands on.
1.
Air Jordan III "Black/Cement"
Just because an item is exclusive does not mean that it's guaranteed the most hype, which
rings true for The Black/ Cement Air Jordan III's the shoe that everyone has been waiting
for, for 17 years.
Known as the sneaker that Michael Jordan wore in the 1988 All-Star Game, the shoe came back
the way old heads remembered it: With premium leather and the all-so-important Nike Air
on the back.
The shoes dropped during this year's All-Star Weekend and instantly sold out and *surprise*
it wasn't because people wanted to resell the shoe, but to actually wear them.
It's rumored that some people bought in bulk, up to six pairs for themselves, which just
goes to show that as long as the product holds the test of time the hype will always remain.
There you have it.
Those are the ten most hyped items of 2018 so far.
We'll see how the second half of the year delivers.

The momentous transition to multicellular life may not have been so hard after all - Duration: 3:38.
Less than a billion years ago,
Life crossed a threshold.
Single cells started to band together,
eventually evolving into the riot of shapes
and functions of multicellular life today.
It's been thought that the evolution
of multicellularity must have been
a major genetic leap but new research
suggests that it wasn't such a
difficult transition after all.
Scientists looked at an organism
that seems closest to making this leap.
Choanoflagellates while single-celled,
resemble the specialized cells that line
the channels of sponges, which are considered
by many to be the most primitive living animal.
A lab found 350 gene families in Choanoflagellates
once thought to be exclusive to multicellular animals.
The findings suggest that this single-celled
organism is already equipped for multicellular life.
A single cell's life is simple but limited.
Like hermits, microbes need only be concerned
with feeding themselves.
In contrast, cells in a multicellular organism,
give up their independence;
they take on specialized functions;
they sacrifice their progeny to the greater good.
Take volverine algae, which comes in
a spectrum of cellularity.
A lab compared the biology and genetics
of this diverse set of algae and learned
that as cells banded together, existing genes
took on new functions.
Chlamydomonas is a single-celled alga
that uses its centrioles for both swimming
and reproduction, so can't do both
at the same time.
Its multicellular relative, Volvox, however,
can do both at once because its cells
have specialized -with some using the centriole
for swimming and others using it for reproduction.
Yeast is a fungus consisting of a single cell.
One lab conducted a series of test tube experiments
with yeast cultures to better understand
how cells evolved increasing complexity.
The biggest cells, which were the ones
that settled to the bottom of the flask,
were allowed to survive and reproduce.
Within 2 months, daughter cells stuck
to their mothers and formed multicellular
structures dubbed snowflakes because of their shape.
Over time they got bigger and more and more complex.
In this sped up simulation of evolution,
the yeast specialized cells.
In large snowflakes, certain cells cell undergo
a type of suicide releasing the cells at the tip
to start a new snow flake.
The dying cell sacrifices its life so that the group
can reproduce--a hallmark of multicellularity.
The team conducted the same experiment
with Chlamydomonas and again,
a kind of multicellularity was quick to appear.
Scientists are still debating what drove
simple cells to become more and more complex,
but with these genetic comparisons
and clever experiments, what was once thought
as a major leap can now be seen
as a series of small genetic steps
that lead to the wondrous diversity
of multicellular life today.
