YouTube video problems that need fixing? All 3 centre around the fact that
there probably was no video marketing strategy implemented from the
outset, and so many business owners experienced the following 3 types of
problems: 1. Videos listed on YouTube that are not getting many, if any at all,
views and so they are not ranking on page 1 for their main keywords. Why page
1 you ask. Because in some cases it's estimated that up to 90% of viewers
don't look beyond page 1 for your main keywords so page 1 ranking is critical;
2. Videos produced but are not posted to youtube yet for whatever reason - and
they're collecting dust on your hard drive; and 3. Videos not yet purchased
simply because the business owner doesn't know how or where to start!
The first problem - videos listed on YouTube but are not ranking well and are
getting hardly any views, if any all, can be quickly fixed by all or a
combination of the following: (1) Changing the title in line with the
subject matter; (2) Changing the file name so it's in line with the title; (3)
Improving the keyword tags; (4) Adding in relevant content in the description box
that aligns with what's being said on the video; and (5) Correcting the auto
transcription in the video itself. These solutions will help you to: (i) re-use
existing videos; (ii) revive and revitalise old YouTube videos; (iii)
optimise your old YouTube videos; (iv) re-post your old YouTube videos; (v) get more
views; (vi) get more engagement with your viewers; and (vii) improve the overall
ranking of your videos. The second problem - videos produced but not yet
listed on YouTube - can be fixed by: (i) determining what the purpose of the
video is; (ii) establishing who your target audience is -
this requires undertaking research to determine where your target audience
hang out and what their main problems and issues are; (iii) changing your video
file name and aligning it with your video title name; (iv) re-edit the video,
for example, to bring it up to date or to either remove images or to trim and
remove parts of the video itself; and (v) optimising the video file to improve its
ranking capabilities. See my earlier video entitled: How To Prepare A Video
File Before Uploading To YouTube". I'll put a link in the top right where the "i"
icon is, and a link in the description box below this video. These solutions
will help you to: (1) focus on your video marketing strategy; (2) determine who your
potential clients are; (3) establish yourself or your business as the "Go to"
resource in your niche; and (4) drive traffic to your landing page or website
or opt-in box. And finally, the third problem - videos not yet produced because
you don't know how or where to start. Now, this is probably the biggest
challenge most business owners have. They recognise that using video has
tremendous benefits and they either don't have the know-how or the
confidence to start or they see the lack of time as
an inhibiting factor. There's usually 2 ways to fix this particular problem -
number 1. Take time out to formulate a strategy as to how you want video to
work in your business and the overall result you'd like your business to
achieve by implementing video. Video must be looked at as part of your
overall marketing strategy so to get the most from video it should be looked at
how it can integrate with your other means of marketing. And secondly, to work
with a local video marketer to determine a viable strategy so that you
can use your time more effectively in your business, such as driving sales and
supporting clients etc. These solutions should help you to: (1) systemise your
business to make your marketing strategy work; (2) be specific with the video
content you provide so that it's relevant to your viewers; and (3)
identify areas of your business where you can outsource. Summing up then, the
3 main problems business owners face are: 1. Videos listed on YouTube that
are not getting many, if any at all, views; 2. Videos produced but not yet posted to
YouTube for whatever reason; and 3. Videos not yet produced simply because
the business owners do not know how or where to start. If you found any of this

with a little mini tutorial and so what I'm going to show you something that I
kind of just discovered after trying to figure out how to help everybody else is
doing it which is adding a stagnant water mark to your YouTube videos but
like when people hover over it it brings up a subscription box and people can
click so look I already know like how it is you're trying to get subscribers any
way you can and this is no different of a way to go ahead and do that you can
even see here on this video when I hover over it my subscription box comes up and
because I have that already installed it's going to be like that for all of my
videos so if you have old ass videos and you've got newer videos and you've got
future of videos come it's gonna be on all of the videos so I'm gonna show you
exactly how we're gonna go ahead and add this watermark to videos so first things
first is we gonna come up here and we gonna make our way to the Creator studio
now once we are inside of the creator studio you're going to want to come over
to channel and then you will come down here to where it says branding now as
you can already see here my little watermark my Q with the crown on it
because I am Queen Quiana LaChé if you didn't already know this I said at the
beginning of the video but it's here and the display time so this is fairly
important because when you first upload it it's going to ask you if you
want it at a custom start time so you can actually have this thing appear
whenever the fuck you feel like it realistically I choose to have it an
entire video because I want to give you the opportunity throughout the whole
video to subscribe to each is own you might want a custom start time maybe you
know that you know the intro to your video is gonna take 60 seconds so it
doesn't pop up until you're done or maybe you want to send it I don't
know but I choose entire video so let me remove it right quick so I can actually
show you how you gonna upload this bad boy okay I removed it I love how it
asked me if I actually wanted to do it thanks for the confirmation pop-up box
anyway so here it says add a watermark so we're going to add a watermark now
it's telling you for the best results use a transparency and just one color so
it's kind of giving you these examples where it's like okay so the best thing
that you'll want to do is to have for example you saw my Q it's one color
with a transparent background does that mean that you have to do that no what
I've seen some people do is they literally have like a red box with the
word subscribe and white text because obviously white will stand out on a
contrasting background you can do that you know if you choose obviously to do
that and I was also telling you that the recommended file format is a PNG if you
do not know PNG is what's going that file format is what's going to give you
the transparent background a gift I kind of want to play around with that because
if you're telling me that I can have some moving shit happening like some
gradient color change my god that would be so friggin dope right and the maximum
file size is one megabyte so I'm going to choose file and I'm just going to go
find my my Q right quick and here it is so you can actually see right here
where it says the Q and then it's got PNG so I'm going to open that boom
is right there and then I'm just going to hit save now you can see what it's
actually going to look like so again as you can see like when I selected it it
was white in the background but I said PNG and I
I know what my logos and stuff look like but if you upload it and you find that
it actually has a white background go figure out what you did wrong or if if
your designer did something wrong it's gonna give you the preview and if you
don't like it choosing the file and then you hit save and boom should you boom
and again it hit me with the custom start time I want the entire video the
entire video so anyways guys that's it I hope that this was super helpful I hope
that you actually now go and implement what you just saw what you just learnt

So I've been on YouTube for over 10 years
I'm a dinosaur of the YouTube generation.

I have over 400 videos
uploaded to my channel, believe it or not,
and I think only 150 or so of those are still public.
And there's loads of reasons I might have privated a video.
I might not like it anymore
I might think it's super cringe
doesn't reflect who I am any more.
BUT
the other day I was having a little look through some of my privated videos
and it's so weird to see how much I've changed!
So I thought I could have a little troll through the archives with you guys
and probably give myself some abs from cringing at the same time. (oof)

Alright, let's kick things off with my first ever colour video blog-
Gone was the webcam camera
I actually got myself a video camera.

'cause everyone when I went to university had southern accents
and I think I just absorbed their accent.
It doesn't help living with Dan as well

I knew I had a problem with my Buffy obsession but that-
I remember printing off about 50 A4 sheets of paper
and sticking them together to make this huge mural on my wall.

It had spiky springs that would go into your back
and so many mysterious stains on the underside of the mattress.

AP: That's ironic 'cause I'm actually next to a hotel courtyard and there are people walking past
like what the hell is he doing with a camera in the room?
VP: Not that I've got anything to hide. AP: Oh, yeah.
VP: It's just that I'm sure they'd rather not see me naked every day.
AP: Alright, Phil, you're gonna get arrested walking around naked everyday
VP: On that note,

When I want to go home for Christmas, I'm like [northern] 'hello, mum'.

AP: So it only took a year for me to get a lot more confident on the camera
and also add all these editing effects on the screen
which I still haven't stopped doing, poof.

VP: So a message from Kimberley from [??] said, "Phil, do you tan in the summer, or do you just burn?" AP: Oh, Kimberley.
VP: But in a girl voice. AP: Oh, we're talking about my tan.
VP: Um, so, this is my arms. Kind of brown tan-ish. AP: I am pretty tanned for me!
VP: And got kind of a tan line going on, right, which is good! AP: Ooh, ooh, ooh! [laughs]
VP: [??] AP: Pulled my shorts down as well!

I like how I talk about that and I'm like

This is back when a lot of youtubers were just doing this random
smashing together of ideas and videos
because they just wanted to keep people's attention
and videos were like three minutes back in the day
so you just have to like cram it in which is why I'm just going for
'Here's my belly button, here's some car keys. Here's a dog.'
What should we do next? Ooh.

Now, this was a failed- Er,
little experiment.
I made a video. I'm just gonna play it.
VP: [american accent] Hey guys, so this is really hard.
I decided to make this video blog 'cause I'm- I'm so
sick of pretending to be this
character that I invented.
Hey, everyone. I'm AmazingPhil.
Oh my god. I'm so English.
AP: Ooh! So, I uploaded this video pretending to be American.
This was a dumb idea because I thought this was clearly a joke
when I uploaded it, but then everyone believed it.
VP: I guess you want the truth.
I had no clue AmazingPhil would be so popular.
AP: The accent isn't even that good.
[copying american accent] I had no clue AmazingPhil would be so popular.
VP: Phil's not even my first name.
AP:Ooh, what's my name?
VP: I'm actually called Kyle.
AP: See, I think that gave it away 'cause Americans don't say 'call'.
They're like, [american] "My name is Kyle."
They wouldn't be like, [american] "I'm actually called Kyle."
VP: I'm really glad you guys like AmazingPhil and I don't want to destroy the illusion that I'm a
happy British person.
AP: I really should have ended that with lol, joke!
But, no. Uh. [laughs]
I think I might have explained it in the next video
but people in the comments were so mad at me
like how could you have lied about bring British for so long?
I like you for your accent.
Uh, yeah, so that's why that one's private.
Along with vlogs, I made some pretty weird videos back in the day.
The thing is I wasn't really trying to be entertaining. I was just trying to be
"artistic."

My hair looks very clean and straight in those so it's slightly improved on the last video.
VP: [weird noise] Help! Help! Help me! AP: Um.

Erase before you completely destroyed the earth with their selfishness.
AP: This is high concept.

So, I think the concept was I was some kind of God that had created a creature
and then I just destroyed it
because of what the peg wanted me to do.
Okay. The last one is actually the first ever video before video blogs I uploaded to YouTube
which was a horror film I made with my university friends.
I'm just going to show the clips of me because they don't actually want to be on YouTube.
Also, it was full of copyright music so I can only play certain bits.

AP: Campus security actually got called from that scream
'cause I'm literally going, "somebody help us!"
And we had to explain why there was a boy running around with a tinfoil mask and a knife.
VP: [screaming] Help! Help!
AP: Again, why we got security called on us.
Great hiding place, Phil.
That's where I'd actually hide in this situation.
VP: [screaming] AP: Oh my gosh.
Totally hurt my elbow doing this.
VP: [shouting]
VP: [more shouting] AP: We're in war.

AP: [laughing] What?
I don't know what organ I just ripped out of him but that was quite brutal.
I think it was a- a cooked chicken.

two things it's the summer and it's pride which means all of us on YouTube will be celebrated will be
talked about, YouTube will
really bring out and amplify their LGBT creators and we're all gonna live this happy family together
unfortunately
That's not gonna happen. And now I'm gonna talk to you about some stuff
I'm a little bit mad, quickly before getting in this video everyone say hi to Beauty, she's right there

so
previously
I made a video
talking about how my channel is at risk of being deleted because I got a strike on a video
that should have never gotten a strike on. My videos are being age restricted. They're being demonetized
they're being not advertiser friendly and I'm getting a strike because my content is LGBT related, especially trans related now
there are a lot of people who are like 'that's not true. That's a myth bla bla. That's not true'
Listen. The video I just posted a couple of days ago talking about five years post-op about how
amazing this experience has been for me was demonetized this second I put the word transgender in
I know some people won't believe me. So I did a little test
so I uploaded the video and at every step of the way I saved it and took a screenshot
so first, I uploaded it took a screenshot
then I added the thumbnail took a screenshot, then I added the title and then I added the word transgender
in the title. The second I added the word transgender it was automatically demonetized
this is not the first time this has happened to me
this has happened to me in the past. Also when I did a video about how I knew I was trans
I took a screenshot and that went all over Twitter again
so I've done multiple tests in proving that the word transgender on my channel has
demonetized my videos that it's a trigger where it triggers the algorithm being like no this
needs to be demonetized and people are like 'yeah it's because YouTube and Google they don't like
talking about sexuality. It's a conflicting topic.' Trans is not a sexuality. Anyways moving on
So I've been having a lot of issues about that
but I've got amazing amazing messages and amazing comments from all of you and someone brought
something to my attention so when I watch my own videos
I don't really get ads on them because I watch my like if I look at my own videos
I don't think I'm allowed to even get ads and press on them
So I don't think that's legal because I'm giving myself
ad revenue whatever
So somebody was like 'hey Chase did you know that this video ad plays before your video?' and I was like wait
what is this and the company was called The Alliance Defending Freedom now, I
I'm not in the United States I go to the United States a lot. I have a lot of friends in the Unites States
I know a lot about United States culture and politics
so anything to me that 'defends freedom' I associate with the right I associate
with like 'don't take our guns away, freedom of speech and all of like abortion is wrong and all of that stuff'
So I don't have a very good association. So I was like, okay, let me watch the video. What is this?
Could you believe that YouTube
literally has added and I know it's not YouTube like one person. That's like yes demonetized
yes, put transphobic video ads on some videos
I know that and I know that it's the algorithm and it's the bots and it's like the way that everything is coded
but you are allowing an anti LGBT ad, a very homophobic and transphobic company
advertise their message their conversion therapy their
horrible like mean messages on my
LGBT videos. So a lot of my videos are already demonetized and if they're not completely demonetised
and age-restricted, they're all limited to no ads, which means they're not advertiser friendly
but when that happens you sometimes get ads it's like here and there not always like there's
barely any ad revenue that happens from there like a dollar a month
but
there's some ads that still show up
Why is it that the only ads
that are showing up on my videos from all the screenshots that people have shown me people have
sent me screen recordings people have shown me the entire video are
homophobic and transphobic so I think it's a little rude and
hypocritical and like ironic a little bit that it's like YouTube is out here like oh my god
It's pride rainbow flag on the play button. Yay. Let's have fun. Let's have fun
we love our gay creators our LGBT look at us amplify the voices
And yet on the other side
you're advertising homophobic stuff on our videos that are already like limited
in ad anyways
which by the way means that people who are watching the video won't actually click on the ad which I think brings in a little
bit more ad revenue so it's like you're

we need to understand capitalist society that we live in they want to
make money but to the point where they're like spitting on their trans creators, so I'm not the only
Youtuber talking about this
I'm not like all of my videos are being demonetized pay attention to me. No other people have talked about this
I'll give you one example here Gaby. Okay, they say have you been seeing anti-gay ads before our videos?
Some viewers just alerted me to this and other Youtubers are having this problem, too
Alright other people have talked about this like Rowan Ellis and Stevie and a whole bunch of other people have been talking about this
Ok, if you go on Twitter, you'll see it's everywhere. People are taking screenshots screen recording screen caps sending the actual video
So what I did is I asked somebody can you send me a video?
Of the ad like because the it's like a YouTube channel. You can like look at their videos
I watch the video that plays before my video and I am appalled that YouTube would even say yes
We'll take your money if you advertise
yes do that and I get it like it's money, but YouTube really you're priding yourself on being diverse
what, once a month, are you kidding me?
and at this point like I swear to god it is now June and you're still gonna play those ads before my videos and
before other LGBT creators in short the video basically talks about how the Bible doesn't talk about
homosexuality because it only talks about heterosexuality which by default means that
homosexuality is wrong and heterosexuality is right because that's only talked about
Really? really and how a marriage is between a man and a woman like we're still here like literally what year we in like 1810
1940 what where are we? How are we 2018 and I get it freedom of speech people are allowed to have their
opinions people are allowed to have these videos play them on people's videos who are have similar things
play it on people who are anti-gay anti LGBT who are super homophobic and transphobic
why are you catering those ads to my viewers and as they're supposed to go with like it they look at
your browser history and then they like look at what you liked and it shows you ads
catering to what you like and Instagram does a great job at that. Yo, they send me ads for stuff
I'm like, oh my god
how do they know I want to buy this and I end up buying hundreds of dollars of things that I don't really need
but I want but Instagram they know, okay. It learns it knows. YouTube? Alright has been playing ads of
LGBT stuff on people's videos. It has been playing I've seen anti-abortion ads on my videos like in Canada
I've seen a horrible horrible videos and instead of showing videos that could actually be
meaningful for the community like I've seen ads for like prep and HIV prevention. I've seen like
ehm, making marriage equality real in the United States like even though I'm in Canada. I still get ads for
the United States
So it's it's it's there, the ads are there. It's not like you're like only homophobic people aren't giving us money
So we're only gonna show these ads. No, there are so many other ones like show me Coca Cola
I don't care, you know anything but
Anyways, I'm done. I can't I can't go through this again
I'm so scared that my channel is gonna get deleted because I'm trans
This has happened to other trans creators just because they are trans and their topics
were trans related their videos were completely deleted in their whole channel was deleted and my channel is my life
I just think that it's a little bit of BS that YouTube says that there is such an inclusive environment
For all of these creators and especially in June it's pride month. They put throw rainbows at you
they spit rainbows in your face, and it's so great
I usually love this month and I feel so proud to be a youtuber and I feel so loved
This year is different and maybe it's different for me because I'm finally seeing it but
I don't like that anti LGBT ads are being shown on my videos and other LGBT
creators and other creators who aren't even LGBT that maybe you're just more progressive and like maybe
just talking about like video games and stuff. I just I I
I don't like that YouTube
promotes
diversity and inclusion and then accepts money from people who are directly against what they are for
I don't think that that's right and
technically these anti LGBT
organizations are literally giving LGBT people their money, though
so
Not that I'm happy about that and I should just be happy that their ads are playing because I don't want people
to see these ads on my videos, but we are literally taking money from you. So thanks for that I guess.
